Another day in New York is getting underway. Well, it already has. It was nearly 10:30 am at the Total Drama Mansion. It's been 6 years, give or take a few months worth of change, since almost everyone from Total Drama's first 5 seasons moved in. Many of those from the Ridonculous Race have moved in as well. A knock was heard at the door.
"I got it!" Julia said.
When she opened it, she got quite a surprise.
"Hi Julia," the one at the door said.
"MK?" Julia asked.
"In the flesh," MK answered.
The two of them hugged for a bit before Julia let MK in.
"Ready to go, yet?" MK asked.
"Almost," Julia answered. "Let me get my shoes, and then we'll be off."
MK smelled something cooking.
"What's that smell?" she asked.
"It's coming from the kitchen," Julia answered.
The two of them followed the smell. It led to Emma, the one that's Kitty's sister.
"Morning," Julia said.
"Hey Julia," Emma said. "Who's your friend?"
"This is Mary Kate," Julia told her. "However, she just likes to go by MK."
"Nice to meet you," MK said.
"Right back at you," Emma said.
"Wanna tell us what's cooking?" MK asked.
"We are having Bun cha, egg rolls, honey chicken and com lam," Emma answered.
"Sounds tasty," MK commented. "But many people can get that stuff any day."
"I agree," Julia commented. "Compared to any other day, what makes today different?"
Emma told the two ladies, "I'm whipping up some Chinese and Vietnamese food in honor of Asian American Heritage Month."
"Mary and I are helping," Ellody said. "Can you believe it?"
"I can," MK said. "What individual wouldn't want to celebrate its history?"
"I do," Mary said.
"Me too," Emma commented.
"What about Priya?" MK asked.
"She's busy interviewing Asian people in New York," Julia answered. "That girl can never get enough of that kind of fun in school. They're even making her write about it as well."
"Like me and Mary," Ellody started commenting. "Some people just can't quench a thirst for knowledge."
"So," Emma started. "What's Priya going to do that project and/or report on?"
"Some old dead guy?" Julia guessed.
"You know, Julia," MK started commenting. "Like many others today, you have a pretty good life thanks to the contributions of some old dead guys."
"Meanwhile," MK started. "Are we gonna get going or what?"
"Oh yeah," Julia told her. "I'll put my shoes on, and we'll be on our way."
"Wait a second," Ellody said. "I thought you said being a barefoot beauty is trendy."
"You think going barefoot is trendy?" MK asked.
"Yes we do," Julia answered. "But those at Rainbow Shops don't. No way they ever let anyone barefoot just go in there."
"Rainbow Shops?" Emma asked. "Isn't that the clothing store Lindsay brags about when spending some of the money she makes from working?"
"Yeah it is," MK answered. "Julia and I are gonna apply for jobs there."
"To think Lindsay would be part owner of a store by now," Mary said.
All 5 of them laughed. MK then went with Julia to get her shoes. While in MK's room, Lillie came in.
"Hi," Lillie said. "You're the new roommates mom told me about?"
"I am," Julia answered. "I'm Julia. This is MK."
"Nice to meet you," MK said.
"I'm Lillie," Lillie said. "Nice room.
"You're just as cute," Julia said while rubbing Lillie's head. "Love to stay and play, but we have a share of errands to run."
"Okay," Lillie said. "Can you swing by the food court and pick me up some pepperoni with sausage?"
"Nice try, kid," Julia said. "Your mom's friends are making a special dinner in honor of Asian American Heritage Month."
"Wow," Lillie said. "Must be special."
"No disrespect," MK started commenting. "But I want to celebrate getting this job, so, I'm Asian, and I'm history. Come on Julia."
Julia finished putting her shoes on and getting what else she needed.
"Ready," Julia said to MK. "Bye Lillie."
Julia and MK strolled off to Rainbow Shops.
Lillie thought to herself, "what kind of activities would Asian Americans do?"
She decided to ask some of Sky's friends.
