Chapter 32
Months would pass.
Satoru had given birth and was now recovering as Yua took over tending to the newborns. But she wasn't alone. Kept with her was Toji who had 'given birth' as well… mainly he was guarding an egg.
No one disrupted them, and for a week, no one saw Toji.
He did emerged after such time passed, yet he came out of the nursery alone.
Suguru had been keeping an eye on everything from the outside, when he saw Toji he paused. "Why are you alone?" he asked.
Toji shrugged his shoulders. "Yua took over… maternal overload I got to say, she is keeping her close…"
Suguru paused to this, perhaps Yua is taking care of Tsumiki to ensure she knows what is going on and why things have happened the way they did. At the same time, Suguru began to feel Yua's stress. Something troubled her greatly but he knew better than to go in.
When a female is tending to her young, it's best to keep your distances until she is ready to reveal herself. Suguru learned that through the brothers who insisted on giving him such advice. In fact, Tanso, Toshi and Choso have been sitting Suguru down to speak about child rearing….
Perhaps they are putting too much stock in the idea that Yua would let him have the next brood. At the same time, he wondered if it was at all possible to do so. Still, he didn't refuse their little sit downs and listened to all the advice given to him.
In between his rounds, advice gathering and what have you. Suguru has focused on Rook the most. Ensuring he is getting enough to eat. It's strange, if you seat Rook side by side with Sukuna and offered them a feast. They eat the same way! Rook is almost animal like as he sees food, and he doesn't hesitate to show off that side of him!
He's nearly startled Sukuna during a meal.
That was just the other day, they got their hands on some steaks… where they came from it was best to not ask, yet between the two of them. They devoured a mountain of meat. When it came down to the last steak though, Rook growled at Sukuna for it!
It startled him a little, but he held his ground. "Don't start what you can't finish boy!" he warned. Sukuna however kept the peace and split the last steak with him. Rook was full, but that was an ungodly amount of meat going into his human body.
The old goat has peered Rook over many times and Calypso has filled books out on his physiology! But neither knew what was happening to him. "I've never seen such a thing before in a human being… but the more I see him, the less human he is becoming…"
"How is that even possible?!" Rook demanded. "I don't have curse energy, I eat a shit ton, sure, but how is that not making me human?"
Neither one knew, at the same time, this is also a test Sukuna is conducting, curious to see if he could mimic his old eating habits but to strengthen Rook instead. So far, it's successful. Rook can take a hit, in fact, he has been sparing with the Fushiguro brothers again and can hold his own! But the way this has been working…
Suguru knows to keep an eye on it.
Sukuna on the other hand has been busy, he has been assisting Shin with his technique and spending time with Ryoto. The problem is… Ryoto no longer travels alone. Toshi's kids have really taken a shine to him and brought him into their fold. As such, there have been many occasions where Sukuna is trapped under a tree since there are nine, five year olds gathered on him and in his kimono.
"Don't you dare take a picture of this!" he warned when Suguru caught him one day. All the kids fell asleep on him and yet they refused to leave him be despite the fact there wasn't enough room for everyone! That's why some slipped into his kimono and slept in the sleeves.
"You do realize you could hold them a lot better in your true…"
"Shut it!" he snapped.
Sukuna hasn't been seen in his true form for a while now. He refuses to, since be believed his son was terrified of him. So he endures.
It would be a month and two weeks after the birth of Yua and Satoru's children… that alone was startling. But he understood why the moment Yua returned.
She had the children with her and Tsumiki.
Tsumiki went on ahead with the children, yet, Yua remained where she stood. Curious, Suguru stood and approached. "Everything okay?" she asked.
She didn't smile, instead, she peered behind her.
Clenching her legs was a very heavy set little boy. His face was large as his arms and legs had rolls of fat on them. He was massive!
Suguru didn't say anything as he leaned down. "Hey little guy, I'm Pops!" he said in a cheery tone.
He shied away.
"He doesn't even respond to me comforting him," she said gently… if anything, Yua looked heartbroken.
Suguru nodded to her and was about to say he would help however he could, when he heard. "TSUMIKI?!"
Everyone turned.
Megumi… somehow purged the dragon features he has been battling. He looked… normal once more instantly the moment he saw his sister.
Tsumiki stood and smiled. "Megumi… how have you…" she couldn't finish her question as he pulled her into his arms. "You missed me that much?" she wept.
"I… I… I'm so sorry!"
"Megumi… It wasn't your fault."
"No, it was mine."
The two froze as Sukuna appeared. Chusi was right beside him before she gave a firm elbow to his side. He sighed aloud and went on his knees and prostrated!
"Tsumiki Fushiguro… your death was on my hands, and as amends I have done everything possible to return you to your brother. But this isn't the end of my debt, you merely need to name your price."
This… took the room aback.
Tsumiki pulled away from Megumi she looked at Sukuna and said. "I was told everything that happened… as such… once, and only once… will I look over this situation… but never again."
It was a firm response. He merely nodded his head.
"As for the price, I don't want anything from you. However, if I ever need your help…"
"You only have to ask, even if it's doing dishes, he will answer your request and do so to the best of his abilities." Said Chusi. Suguru couldn't help but smile since she will hold him to it!
"You can stand up again," Tsumiki said.
Slowly he rose up off the ground, and then he peered at Megumi. "Will you listen to me now?" he asked of him.
Megumi said nothing. "Let me show you around Tsumiki." And left with his sister.
Yua sighed aloud. "He really wants to…" Suguru muttered.
She nodded but her focus was on them, but her son. "Do you want to share a meal with your brothers and sisters?" she asked gently of her son.
He refused to answer her…
Strange, the child acts like how Gojo did to Yua. But, he is starting to understand why that is. This child feels both parents neglected him and the others.
"What's his name?" Suguru asked.
Yua sighed. "Satoru named him after he was born, just this one though… Saitama." She explained.
Suguru nodded. He leaned down once more and smiled. "Saitama, would you like to come with me to the nursery? It's nice and quite, no one else will be there and we can bring your siblings too. Does that sound good?"
He saw the little boy peer at him, and gave a gentle nod. "May I carry you there?"
He shied away once more.
This poor child… Suguru knows he and Satoru are going to be mincing words later…
