Marie seems to be trapped in purgatory as the moment when the bullet pierces Edd's heart . The blood flies into the air like a volcano when Edd's hands which were trying get the blade out , now fall down as the life, slowly in his eyes , fade away . His body crash onto the ground when Moroque push him out of his graps as Tessa charges in to fight him . Marie collapse on her knees and screams her heart out in pure agony even when her father and his mens have already secure her safety as they form a barrier around her before carrying her into their car . She was unconsolable throughout the drive home , crying with no end to her tears . Back at the battlefield , Tessa is locked in a bloody clash of blades as she has never been so furious with Moroquue even after everything they have been through, this was the last straw . Moroque has already been severely weakened by Edd's ragefull rampage so he is on the defense while Tessa is completely dominating the fight as she managed to disarms him . Stabbing one of her blade right through his mounted blade right at the joint between his hand . Pinning him into the tree , she goes for another one in his left lung then begin to hammer him with blow after blow , yet it is still not enough to put him down . Catching one of her strike with remaining hand , he pulls her in to a headbutt . Tessa's headguard broke into 2 and she get staggered a bit as Moroque's reinforcement to arrive . Tessa get pinned down by heavy rifle firepower , running into cover with no weapons left and part of her armour already broken . They waste no time to get a heavily injured Moroque into their van and bolted out of there before the Flacily's army come at them . Tessa is already suffering from multi fracture but like Edd , she is still kicking but barely . Seeing that the fight is lost , she called her caretaker to pick her up up the hill at the road where they got pushed into the wood from before . A long walk yet she still doesnt grunt from the pain , not even once . Taking her armor off as she trek up the plain where after 30 minutes of walking , her caretaker saw her and immediately rushes to her to provide medical aid just as Tessa is about to collapse from her injuries. The older women carries her the rest of the way to the car , returning to her mansion.
In his armour van , Moroque is also under the knife as he has sustained so many wounds and on the verge of death yet still able to crack on smile as with his victory over Edd and Tessa , he is one step closer to achieving his goals . Over the mansion , Tessa is carted off the car and into the medical ward where Edd is being operated on by her medical team . She has her caretaker to take care of her , operating on her with extreme care while Ed and Eddy are getting much needed rest after the wild day they just had. When Ed and Eddy got Edd into the van , Edd was only alive in his brain as his body has already thinks it is dead . Following the instruction given by the caretaker who guided them over the coms , Eddy pump into Edd a bunch of biochem mix to keep his body and brain alive just a bit longer . Eddy was in tears the whole ride , doing things that seem to be useless as he sees Edd liveless body . After the medic team got Edd into their care , both brother are exhausted and soon rested in a spare room . Marie has to deal with the thoughts of Edd is no longer with her , crying her heart into the shoulders of her grandmother , trying to console and heal that gabing wound in her granddaughter heart . The next few days for Marie are just like a blur as life seems so empty for her . She hasnt eat for days nor getting any rest , simply roam around the mansion like a ghost . Only after her grandmother insisted heavily that she needs to eat , only then she would even take one bite . Tessa recovered first , woken up after just 1 day asleep but bound to a wheelchair for the time being . Ed and Eddy stayed by their brother special medical pod as a small mechanical heart has replaced the one that was destroyed . It is doing everything that a heart can , pump blood and keep his body going yet he hasn't waken up or even breathing on his own yet . Tessa can't even consider he is alive yet since his brain hasn't been active at all . Almost a week later , Tessa , Ed and Eddy are back to full health as they start exercising to regain lost strength but they can't say the same for Edd as he is still asleep . After so many blood transfusion , his body has only recover partially , heart is still out of the question as no average human heart can withstand the amount of stress that the superhuman like bloodline will put on it . Tessa doesn't have the strength nor the amount of blood needed to put into Edd to make him heal his heart . With no hope to continue the fight against Moroque as the three ponder beside his pod ,trying to come up with any ideas to bring Edd back to life , or worst , break the news to Marie that they haven't brought him back. As the doctors continue to do whatever they can for Edd , the three remaining siblings rest and eat lunch together in the large dining hall . Ed and Eddy have never seen such luxury down to the utensils with maids walking around the table serving anything they wish . The two brothers take the opportunity to enjoy while Tessa simply sit by her soup , trying to think of a way to fix Edd back up . Ever since Moroque betray her and the family to embark on his conquest , killed her mother to really cut the blood ties for good . Edd is supposed to her chance to amend the wound but now Moroque had seem to cut her heart even deeper . Eddy notice Tessa's poor mood , stop eating for a moment to offer some comforting words.
Eddy : look , if there is any one who can pull a rabbit out of his ass , it would be Edd with some help from us .
Tessa let out of some much needed chuckle from the crude joke yet understanding it does come from the heart.
Tessa : I can't argue against that but still , we have only a few days left before his body completely shut down even with all the medical support my family have.
Swirling her spoon in the bowl of soup as Eddy understand the severity of the situation.
Tessa let out a long sigh then : At least our intel team is telling us that Edd did Moroque dirty , making the fucker of the grid for the past few days now . Hopefully long enough for us to bring Edd back , otherwise , we will have a major problem on our hands.
Day turn to night as Ed and Eddy stay by Edd pod , waiting for their brother to wake up , holding onto even the slightest chance that their brother would comeback . Tessa is in the library , going through the family records , trying to find anything that could fix Edd . Going through books after books , not noticing in the shadows , someone has arrived. It wasn't till the figure intentionally make his presence known that Tessa was able to detect him . Shutting the book closed with her left then her right pullout a knife to arm herself after letting someone getting too close to her without her knowledge .
?: No need for weapons , you are in the presence of family after all .
Her father appears from the shadow , in his elegant suit as usual yet this time ,no discerning grin nor the malice filled gaze , he looked concern almost . Tessa steps out of her table to bow and greet her father as taught yet her injuries makes the process so difficult . Lowering her head to at least appease her father ,she was caught off guard when her father steps closer and help her stand up straight .
Father : I think formality can wait for shattered bones to heal, don't think my daughter.
His voice is so calm yet a sense of compassion can't be missed . Puzzling Tessa as she has never seen such manner from her father . The often cold , menacing , tough man she is so used to hear order from is nowhere in sight . She is carefully laid down by the couch as he goes to the table , fetching the family records .
Father : You won't find anything that answer the questions you are having .
Flipping through the pages like he had read before countless time .
Tessa : Even if so , I can't just do nothing when my brother is dying out there .
Letting out a sigh of disappointment to which her father is not all that bothered by.
Father : You seems to care for him so much and here I thought you were just trying to kill Moroque to avenge your mother.
She looks the other way , Tessa : At first , yes , i didn't think much of him till he showed me how much he cared for others . Those who he cares for and those who care for him . It remind me of how mom always seem so strict cause she wanted to make me strong and be on my own .
Her father looks out into the window , seeing the night skies filled with dazzling stars where he often find her by the balcony.
Father : I guess i wasn't the only one after all .
A moment of silince between the of them then he speaks .
Father : I fear that Moroque and his master are dying to make their moves once more and it is upmost important that we are together in this , as a family .
Tessa turns to look at her father and his stern face tell Tessa he wasn't lying when he said it . He leaves her to rest as he orders the maid to tend to her while he goes to visit his son for the first time in his life . The child he ever watch from afar yet grew up to everything that he ever hope for , and he won't let he dies in his house . Gathering his best doctors with the family secrets documents , relate to blood tranfusion and large tissue recover ,only available to the head of the family . With Edd secured into his new pod , connect to a series of small surgical pipes to huge machine with a computer control panel that connect to another pod . The doctor begins to run a few test on Edd as his father enter the room in large white robes , clean and fit as the analysis comes in .
Surgeon : Sir , your son condition is barely recoverable , his white blood cell production is at bottom level low and his level of regeneration is quite weak . If we do a tranfusion , the strain will put even you into a coma and we don't know how to pull you back if you crash completely .
He sees the concerns of his doctors , written on their faces when the analysis is read out loud as they are a part of a long line of doctors , born from the slave that the family rescue eons ago , forever pledge their life to protect and care for the Le Tessier bloodline . Their concerns fade away a bit as they see their master look over to his son , seeing the determenation and desire to save his son , the faith for the future of the family .
Father : If so , then take care of my children as you have done for me and my forefather . Begin to procedure .
He unrobes himself as he gets into his pod , the doctors begin carefully connect all the tubes into different places on his body as the anesthetic kicks in . Tessa watches and above with Ed and Eddy .
Eddy : will it work ?
Eddy turns to Tessa to which she : I don't know , we can only pray .
They take their seats as the maids bring them some drinks to past the time and suspence .
Hey guys , first chapter after like 6 months may be . Quick update , my military service is done and are now behind me but now i have a job and a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders now . Mortgage and bills , all that stuff so i haven't been able to really write anything especially with the bug on the mobile app,making it impossible to write small bit day by day . I hope you guys like my work and i will do my best to keep it up for you guys .
