Authors note: Hello. Sorry if I haven't posted about this. Just focused on IRL projects and stuff. I hope you enjoy this. Make sure to comment your thoughts, because I need water rn.
eyes slowly opened, his body shifting in his bed. Unlike the past eight days, his body got out of bed with a sense of finesse that longed he for. A confident sigh escaped him as he checked the amount of work he had to do that day. Knowing his spar with Boros was today, he crammed yesterday's and most of today's work into a few hefty hours last night. Fortunately enough he had little to work with today, creating an unusual smirk emerged as he made his way to his work station, where Morphis worked across the room, typing away at his computer.
Geryuganshoop asserted himself by clearing his throat. "Greetings, Morphis. It's nice to see y-"
"Hey" He mustered back.
Geryuganshoop paused, seemingly going silent as he saw Morphis type away with a tired expression. It was another attempt at trying to wake him up, but it failed. Eight attempts, and he still was internally dead.
He sighed and went over to the table in the middle of the room and type away. Reorganizing schedules to make sure everything in the ship was dealt with was a few simple internal calculations that no longer was the nightmare it was a few days ago, because it no longer came with having to deal with the monotony of having to some of Asriel and Groribas' work. Melzargard was able to handle things on his own now, and Asriel's work was distributed amongst a few smaller groups.
Geryuganshoop chuckled to himself as his limbs got jittery, a little too used to being overworked. "Those busy days seem to affect me even after it's over. Maybe those days hate me rather than the other way around."
"Yeah," He mumbled.
Geryuganshoop stopped and scratched the back of his head quietly. He softened his voice, "Hey, Morphis, I know you're not feeling well...so I'll offer you this. I'm going to be doing some research on Asriel and-"
"Already did it."
"What?"
Morphis shifted his head more in Geryuganshoop's direction. "I looked into Asriel's past, okay? I couldn't find anything," he admitted, his voice rising, "No weird groups, and nothing about how her body turned to dust. I can't find fucking anything!"
Geryuganshoop's expression softened. "Alright. I know this is a little hard for you, don't worry. Me and Boros are trying to figure stuff out." He went over to Morphis' chair and looked at his eyes. "I understand that she was a good friend, and that you must be feeling...empty. My apologies if I'm not good at this."
Morphis couldn't help but slouch slightly, "Thanks for trying to help," he muttered, before leaning towards the edge of the chair, "I...just don't know what to do anymore."
Geryuganshoop frowned slightly and sighed, "Look, can I cheer you up with something? Perhaps we can play some poker with Boros? She has some great drinks, it certainly numbs the pain after a gruesome battle. Sounds nice?"
Morphis' posture improve a bit as he scratched the back of his neck. "I'll consider it. Thanks," he answered a little more confidently.
Geryuganshoop smiled a little. He used his advanced telekinesis to brink him a cup of water. "Is there anything that you can give me? Perhaps send me a file or document. Now that I'm liberated from so much work, I can make you feel a bit better. This mess doesn't have to be on your hands."
Morphis held the cup and softly smirked. "Yeah, um I'll send it to ya later today or tonight," he answered, his response filled with a little more positive energy as he downed the glass, "Yeah, eh thanks for the offer by the way. I just want to make sense of it."
"Don't worry, I have your back."
Morphis chuckled. "I'll try to feel better about it. Okay?"
"Thank you Morphis."
Outside The Ship
Another spar between Boros and Geryuganshoop commenced. Boros dashed around the battlefield, not pulling back punches as Geryuganshoop threw projectiles at her. For the most part he would keep his distance, the usage of his range and damage keeping her at bay. Occasionally due to her fast per travel speed, she would be able to get at arms length, where he strategized and had to parry her limbs with telekinesis, rarely using energy on psychic shields. These moments were usually the most tense, but they allowed them to talk as they attempted beat the other up senselessly.
"So, did you find anything on that warrior you killed?" Geryuganshoop asked, parrying her attack and uppercutting her with a rock from below. She landed on her feet, and grabbed him by the tentacle.
"Yeah, just a bit. Spent the whole last day letters and documents." Boros then swung him like a recking, causing him to snap a few trees before he was able to free himself.
Geryuganshoop wiped a trickle of blood before trying to crush Boros with a psychic barrier. The walls closed on her as tried to push against them. "Oh, nice. Morphis found information on Asriel, but nothing useful. So, anything peculiar about this warrior?" Boros tried to talk, but was too focused on the barrier closing in. "C'mon, spit it out," he joked.
Boros used her raw strength to crack, then destroy the psychic barrier, before spitting some blood on the floor. After dodging a boulder from behind, she tackled him into a nearby set of trees, before pinning him against a stone wall. "Yes, he was an insecure guy by most accounts. He would just work out all day, and was really defensive about his capabilities. Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary," she admitted, before cracking her knuckles.
Geryuganshoop was then punched up into the air, with Boros zipping past him. She bounced off of a rock to try skyrocket down onto him, but with a quick use of telekinesis he misdirected her attack, causing her to land on the floor and make a huge explosion. Geryuganshoop then used the projectiles of the explosion to attack her in all directions at once, like a fiery hail of bullets.
The spar continued, with Geryuganshoop and Boros relishing in the adrenaline rush that had they hadn't received in what felt like a long time. Eventually as they kept landing attacks, and as Geryuganshoop grew more exhausted and bloody, they slowed down the pace of the battle until he was simply gasping for air. By the end of it both of them were covered in cuts in bruises. She patted him on the back.
"Y'know, I think you've forced me to get stronger," She stated with a casual smirk, before flexing a muscle.
Geryuganshoop was wiping some blood off of his forehead, before curiously looking at her. "I have? Well that's pleasant, maybe you can destroy a slightly bigger planet now," he quipped.
Her eye narrowed as she smirked, "Yeah, as the strongest person in the universe, I might be able to crack your bald head."
"There's a reason why it's so strong, because unlike you I have a brain to protect," he jokingly retorted.
They both had a soft laugh, before looking at each other.
"So, do you to send me files on that warrior just incase? I might find something that can link him with Asriel," he asked.
"Sounds nice," she stated casually. Then a thought surged in her mind. "Oh, do you want to go to my room? It's been a while since we hung out. Maybe we can unwind after everything that's happened. Maybe a bit of beverages?"
A smile slowly forms, as he relaxes himself. "Feels like I haven't had that kind of night in ages...it's only been a few days, right? I'm interested, just try to limit the kinds of beverages, nothing too alcoholic, okay?"
Her eye lit up as she healed from her injuries. "Sounds wonderful!" She yelled, "I'll have the chefs make something amazing- and I'll get everything ready and-"
Geryuganshoop chuckled, "I missed you too, now can we go back into the ship? I need to...stop bleeding." He then gestured to his bruised and bloodied body.
"Oh, my apologies. Mind if I take you to your room?"
"No, not all."
Boros then grabbed Geryuganshoop and quickly ran over to the ship.
Geryuganshoop's room
Geryuganshoop relaxed as the water from shower head rained over his body. The dried bloody and icky debris from his spar running down is body and landing in a drain. The sound of it all was a backdrop to his thoughts. Asriel and that warrior- oh he should find a name for him.
They were so different, but they both potentially had something in common, insecurity? Both hated Boros, and both were desperate to get that power, to which both did out of nowhere. There has to be a third party, and it has to at least know Boros. Maybe some more digging would be needed.
Then the water stopped. Geryuganshoop sighed and dried himself, before looking at his reflection in a nearby mirror. There were a few scars, but most injuries that showed were fresh. He huffed, poking and prodding himself in the mirror. Boros could heal from her in fractions of a second, but he needed a day or two. It was an unforgiving reality, but all he could do was dwell on it. Geryuganshoop got out of the shower, made sure to look...good enough or at least better than usual before going over to Boros' room.
Boros' room
All of the documents, everything needed was sit on a nightstand. Meanwhile across the huge room Boros and Geryuganshoop playing chess, drunk. A bottle the size of Boros' forearm sat across the table, the cost of lifetimes already half empty after a couple of hours. Beside it was chess pieces already removed, already drenched in an intoxicating smell. Giggles and groans could be heard, increasing over time as another shot was downed. Geryuganshoop took out one of Boros' knights, causing her to grumble in frustration.
"Ha! What are you going to do...now?!" He yelled, slurring on his voice.
"Shut up, I...know what I'm doing..." she murmured, the smell of alcohol being potent in her breath.
Eventually she won, filling the room with childish giggles and annoyed groans. Now he had to take a shot. As Geryuganshoop downed another shot, he sighed, before looking at the knight piece. He held it with his telekinesis to the best of his ability, examining the piece. It looked off, he must be drunk.
He pushed aside his shot, and chuckled, "I think that's enough alcohol for me. I...don't want to get too wasted."
"Why's that? You scared of a little hangover on that big brain of yours?" She asked.
He shook his head and shifted in his seat. "It's more personal reasons...I don't like getting...too drunk," he murmured.
Her face grew red with embarrassment, "Oh okay...I didn't mean...want to..."
Geryuganshoop suppressed a burp before seeing her expression. "Nah, it's fine. I can...spill the beans if you'd like."
Boros tilted her head, "Wait, what? No, you don't need to say your secrets. I prefer my Geryuganshoops light hearted and adorable."
Geryuganshoop paused with rose tinted cheeks, before chuckling slightly. "I'm sensitive to...alcohol. I prefer myself smart, don't want to be..." he burped, before covering his mouth. "My apologies. I don't want to be...to look foolish, that's the summary of it. I'm already decently drunk."
Boros slumped in her chair, "Well, good for you. I don't really care, you're still a funny octopus," she whispered.
Geryuganshoop paused again. "Are...you more drunk than me? How much did you drink?" He slowly asked. The smell of alcohol radiated from her breath. He glanced at the bottle, before realizing how much they've already had. He knew Boros drank a decent chunk of this.
"I drank...a bit, I think 4 more shots. I'm not much more...more drunk than you," she mustered.
"If that's the...case...I think...think it's time for you to sleep."
Boros yawned, before shrugging and agreeing. After storing away the beverages, they went over to her bed. They stood next to her bed, both drunk.
"It was nice...nice to see you tonight's, how long have we've been doing this?" She asked.
Geryuganshoop chuckled, "Hours."
Boros looked at her bed, then at him, her expression Ty a hint of sorrow. "Can't you stay a little longer? Just a bit?"
Geryuganshoop chuckled, calmly grabbing her shoulder, the previous shot getting a little more into his system. "Nah. I gotta...I got to go to my room."
Boros sighed, chuckled, and then placed her hand near his collar bone. She gently rubbed it, with her thumb, causing Geryuganshoop to awkwardly chuckle in his drunken state. She leaned back. "Oh, okay, can I give you something then?"
Geryuganshoop nodded, unsure of what she was going to do. Is she going to offer a bottle? Maybe a rich artifact? Actually, the he needed the documents on that warrior. She'll give him that.
He never expected to her to actually kiss him that night.
