Chapter 1 Prologue (Revised)

(Location: Unknown)

In an alleyway, four teens were there, three older boys and one young cute school girl, all wearing white button T-shirts, grey pants/skirts, and black shoes. The girl had brown hair and eyes and looked terrified of the older boy before her.

The older boy gave her a sly look, his hand placed against the wall where the girl stood, just to her right, centimetres from her shoulder. The other two boys behind the first one looked at her with crossed arms and sly grins.

"Hey, girly." The first boy said. What's a cute girl doing in a dark, damp, smelly place like this? " He then pinched her chin slightly, watching her shake from fear. He then moved his hand away from her chin and placed it on her chest, where his finger played with the top button of her T-shirt. "My boys and I had a bit of a, how do you say? Rough day? We thought we'd have some fun with you…".

"Well, that fun will have to wait after detention…" The boys and the girl turned their heads to the right side of the boys, where a bright white light projected a silhouette of a tall, handsome boy wearing the same outfit as the boys, with his hands placed on his waits in a superhero pose.

"Let her go, or else…" The Saviour said, giving a wink to the girl and causing her to blush.

"Come and try me…" The bully spoke as he allowed the Saviour to charge headfirst against the three boys.

The Saviour headed towards them at high speed. Would this be the start of a relationship? Would this be how love begins? As the boy was about to collide with the three bullies, another question came to his mind: Would this be roma-?

"NO!" A man shouted, dressed in black skin-tight sportswear for athletes. Still, it had some red designs, like a superhero or web-slinger. He kicked the boy's chin, sending him flying, causing everyone to go comprehensive eye with large white circles surrounded by a thick black circle around their eyes. "WE ARE NOT DOING THIS!" The man yelled.

"WHAT THE HELL DUDE?!" The girl, snapping out of her trance, yelled at the man in tights; she angrily pushed the bully away from her and headed towards the man. "You can't just bring yourself into MY story and ruin it! We agreed we'd make an original story with our ideas! Don't you remember?!" She argued.

"We didn't agree to a stupid romance story! I mean, come on! The alleyway!" He gestured to the alleyway around them. "These guys!" He gestured to the boys. "The whole Rom-Com genre setup of the girl being bullied and rescued by the prince in shining armour!" He gestured towards her. "I mean, this is as tacky, as cheesy as possible! No offence…" He told the girl before turning the last part of his sentence to the boys.

"N-None taken…" The boys said in unison.

He turned his attention to the girl who looked at him and said, "So what?! Is your idea any better?! I mean, look at this…" She pinched his arm, pilling a bit of the fabric, stretching and releasing it. "What is this?!" She said. "Are you supposed to be original? I mean, look at you! You're a Spider-Man rip-off!".

"Hey! Superhero movies and TV shows are all the rage. Have you seen the views for the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming movie? It's ridiculous! I mean, this is the best time to write a superhero story! Not Rom-Com!" The man argued.

"Hang a sec…" A voice echoed through the alleyway as a large-scale alien with large teeth and black skin and no eyes came down to the ground, scaring the boys but not the girl or the man looking at them. "I thought we were doing a horror story?" The alien said.

"We're doing a Superhero story." The man argued.

"NO, WE'RE DOING ROMANCE!" The girl argued.

POP!

Everything popped like a bubble, revealing the past events to be nothing more or less than an imagination between three friends in a small room with one large table, four chairs, and a window, chatting with each other in school.

(Location: National Island High, Specific Location: Story Writer's Club)

It was now revealed to be in a club room figuring out an original story. The man was now revealed to be voiced by a brown-haired, cowlick-styled, 17-year-old teen with brown eyes and fair skin. Another key feature was a necklace on his neck, in tiny black round-rectangular beads, and a large black sharp toothlike ornament on the necklace held by a small metal holder. He was on a chair opposite his friends on the right side of the room, his elbow on the desk with his palm open and his head on it as he looked at his friends. His name was Ayato Usagi Kaze.

"Gee, Nora, you know how to mess up a mood. I mean, seriously, romance. Isn't that a dead genre?" Ayato asked.

"I thought we were doing a horror story with gore and such." A messy, spiky, white-haired, black eyes, white-brows 17-year-old teen said, who was around a little taller than Ayato. Kayame Kenjiro was Ayato's long-time best friend since kindergarten; he was lying back in his seat.

"DEAD GENRE, WHY YOU!" The girl yelled as she got up, slamming her hands on the table. She had slightly dark, sand-brown hair that reached her lower neck. It was spiky and curly, powerful in colour, and she was around Ayato's height. Her name was Nora Nova Shindo (Author's Note: Shindo means Progress in Japanese; in this case, it has a similar meaning to racing).

"Hey, hey, hey! Calm down!" Ayato said to Nora. "Shouldn't we decide what story we're gonna be writing because right now, I think you should be in the department of making a story cover!".

"Isn't drawing you snick?!" Nora argued.

"Not when you misspelt in your story; what was that word you just said? You misspelt waist with waits!" Ayato argued.

"We were going to go back at that later and fix it! I mean! We should write down a story we all agree on and fix it later!" Nora argued.

The three people were Ayato, Kayame and Nora, three of five "Story Club" members of National Island High. "Geez, Nora, can't you take a break! I mean, it is known as "The Island Of The Future" we're living, you know, or as some say, "The Island Of Opportunities"." Ayato thought to himself. We're supposed to do whatever we want. I mean, this island practically started with nothing. Literary nothing." Ayato continued.

"National island, a large island formed in the Pacific Ocean, 300,000 Km Squared, a little over the size of Nevada in the United States." Ayato thought. "The island lays in international waters just beyond Japan and the USA; in other words, the island is between Japan and the USA.".

"Our island was formed during the 1960s. After the successful Super Atomic bomb test of Castle Bravo in 1956, where it was tested at the Pacific Proving Grounds, the United States Government gave the green light to make yet another powerful bomb; this time, they took special measures. It took time for the device to be built, so it wasn't unleashed until 1960." Ayato thought in his daze.

"Because of how powerful this bomb was theorized to be, the project was named "The New World" bomb. Instead of testing the device where they usually did, they pushed the location away to a different bombing sight to ensure that if a mega-tsunami were formed, it wouldn't affect America or any other populated surrounding islands in the area. The place where our island is is where the bomb was tested…" Ayato thought continuously.

"Of course, before that year, there was no island; it was an open ocean with no land for a hundred miles before the bomb dropped. When the bomb did drop, it was dropped into the ocean to contain the explosion in worries it could set ablaze some of the surrounding navy ships watching it; it caused the biggest atomic explosion ever known to humanity. Considering how powerful it was, it made the United States Government cancel any future bomb testing and prohibited them considering how dangerously powerful they became; that would be the last of it… Until the coming days afterwards," Ayato thought to himself.

"Believe it or not? The place where the bomb dropped turned out to be a super-volcano that was dormant for millions of years at the bottom of the ocean. The atomic explosion re-awakened it. The volcano erupted and created a large landmass." Ayato thought.

"After a couple of weeks, the island was formed. It was cleaned of radiation, and went crazy over it." Ayato thought. "No claim, not within any country's national waters; the world could claim the island. Eventually, the United Nations began negotiations. It seemed the world was at a standoff, not knowing who Goanna had the island. Finally, the negotiations ended, and the United Nations chose to become the new governing party of the world; that way, everyone has a piece of the island.".

"So, the island adopted several cultures, earning the name "National Island", otherwise nicknamed "The Island Of The Future" or "Island Of Opportunities", or the most well-known name "The Island Of Peace" as a sign of peace and unity." Ayato thought.

"I think we need to make a horror novel; those are pretty good," Kayame added.

"No! There's too much depression in the world; we need something happy like romance!" Nora argued as she moved closer to Kayame, her face close to his as she pouted angrily at the teen.

"Let's do a superhero story! Seriously, the MCU is the biggest thing in movies right now! How much more evidence do you need!" Ayato argued as he slammed his hands on the desk and leaned over at Kayame and Nora. (Author's Note: MCU is short for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a shared universe between Marvel characters)

Things got heated up, and the three friends started to argue with each other; words like "Gore", "Love", "Action", "Heroes", "Blood", and "Romance" were thrown into the inaudible conversation. Eventually, a small TV from the late 2000s stored in their room became louder and louder, ending the conversation.

There are letters on the right-hand corner of the screen on the TV itself saying NIN, which is short for the popular TV news station, National Island News.

The three friends stopped talking, and all looked at the TV to see a man in his 30s wearing a long white coat scientists usually wear. He also had darker brown hair, glasses and fair skin. He was also wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

"Good afternoon, everyone." The man in the coat said, gathered by an army of news reporters and camera operators, along with civilians gathered around the outside of a large tower located right behind him. Behind him were two men in suits and sunglasses, acting as his bodyguards, while another, shorter and without sunglasses, wore a grey suit representing himself as the man's lawyer. "I am pleased to announce that the student/company union has officially been formed and is underway. We have a few students already assigned to the project and await many more to join us. Please note that this is still experimental, and the slots are limited to only two hundred and fifty students. Any questions?" The man asked with a happy smile.

"Oh, yes. I'm from National Island News and have questions regarding you, Professor Harrison Wills." A woman dressed in a suit and short skirt coloured grey announced in her microphone before leaning towards the Professor now known as Harrison Wills.

"Oh yes, please go ahead." The Professor gave his permission.

"Before you became the founder and CEO of Harrison Industries, a company that has both Tesla and Apple by a thread due to the advanced technological machines you created, such as the digital identity chip and advanced programs to aid people with important security jobs, which have decreased security breaks across the globe by an amazing Ten Percent, there are rumours surrounding you about your previous life." The Reporter finished.

"Excuse me, previous life?" The Professor's smile died down in the question of the woman's response.

"According to internet sources, there are claims you used for an agency in the military." The Reporter announced.

"Yes, it is true, but that's common knowledge; I have become a better man; I no longer work for the military," Harrison replied.

"But there are sources on the internet that suggest you have done some rather classified work, and the agency you were supposedly working for doesn't seem to exist. There are rumours surrounding you and some illegal activities such as experimentation on organic life; what do you say about these rumours?" Just then, the lawyer came up and spoke.

"Excuse me; this is an announcement, not an interrogation. Please refrain from asking questions that could influence my client's work and life, and this is not-." A hand was placed on the lawyer belonging to Harrison.

"It's alright; I can answer and hopefully put this rumour to rest." The lawyer nodded before stepping back, allowing Harrison to approach the woman.

"As I mentioned several times to several news reporters and media, I cannot answer any question regarding some specific times I had in the military, as that work is classified and signed a contract to ensure that information does not get released to the wrong hands," Harrison answered. "However, that does not mean I cannot express my personal feelings on my final days working for the military. I have done things in the military I am not proud of, which is why I left.".

"And also because of the explosion that killed your collages?" The news reporter asked.

Harrison gave a sad, brief pause; he then answered, "Yes, that as well. Since then, I have created Harrison Industries, where I help the community and the people around it; I take the knowledge and skills I have gained that were meant to end lives only to make them better. I have received offers to rejoin the military, but I have denied every single one of them. We hope to do good for everyone who needs it.". While Harrison made his speech, one of his security guards had a call from their earpiece, who then went to Harrison. The security guard whispered to his ear something the cameras could not get. The security guard stepped back while Harrison returned his gaze to the cameras.

"My apologies, everyone. I'm afraid duty calls for me, and I'll have to end this announcement early. Thank you for coming here, and have a good day." That said, Harrison and the lawyer returned to the building behind them. Meanwhile, news reporters attempted to follow them in, but the security guards closed the gap, preventing them from coming in.

The screen then turned to a newswoman inside of the station. "In other news…" She began.

Returning to Ayato, Kayame and Nora, the three who watched the news report then looked at each other. "I wish I could be part of that program," Ayato said.

"Well, we can't; we must be at least eighteen to be a part of it," Kayame said.

"I know," Ayato said.

"And besides, looking at your height, people will just think you're a toddler or something, which you are." Kayame joked with a smile on his face, making Ayato angry. "What's wrong? Made the baby cry?".

"WHY YOU CRAZY STUPID HAIR CRAZY JERK!" Ayato yelled at Kayame.

"WHAT YOU SAY?!" Kayame went face to face with Ayato, who both had white triangles in their eyes while looking at each other in anger. They touched one another's faces as they pushed each other, all in a comedic anime-style scene.

Nora, who had her hand on the head, then spoke as she sighed, "Geez guys, will you two quit it already…" Nora said.

Ayato moved away from Kayame, his eyes returning to normal. "Besides, I would like to join Mr Harrison one day because I look up to the guy. He's a good man, donating money and resources to the National Island Police Department, helping homeless people pick up their lives again, and aiding in programs to help people with their financial issues. He's a great guy, and I would love to meet him one day." Ayato said as he smiled.

"True, he is a hero; maybe he's the National Demon?" Nora said with a smile on her face.

Ayato's spine slightly jolted a bit at the mention of the National Demon.

"The National Demon, a superhero that appeared in National City sometime at the beginning of two thousand sixteen, has been helping people and protecting them for a while now; no one knows who he is." Ayato thought.

"The dude's good, but the National Demon is small," Kayame added.

A vein on Ayato's forehead popped as he said, "Small?!" angrily.

Kayame and Nora looked at Ayato with an awkward expression before Kayame said, "I meant the hero, not you!". Realizing his outburst, Ayato sweated and kept his mouth quiet.

"Geez, Ayato, why do you always make an outburst like that when we're talking about the Island's hero?" Nora asked.

"Well, I uhhhh…" Ayato tried to answer but couldn't.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

The loud sound of the school bell rang across the hallways, causing both Ayato and Kayame to get out of their fight and look at the bell sound.

"I guess school's closing…" Ayato said. "Saved by the bell…" Ayato thought to himself, sighing inside of his head in relief.

"Of course, genius," Kayame said.

"Let's go, guys!" Nora said as she picked up her bag while Ayato and Kayame did the same thing. Kayame picked up a rucksack filled with his things while Ayato picked up a black handbag.

Nora then jumped out of the room, happy to go home; she walked down the hallway happily. Down the endless hallway, with one side covered in doors to rooms and the other windows of the city, Ayato saw a girl; she had dark-bluish, spiky, messy hair, eyes of the same colour, and a fierce and intense look on her. Her skin was fair, and she was slightly taller than Nora. She had a slight muscular physic, considering what she was wearing. She wasn't wearing her usual uniform. Instead, she wore tight black bicycle shorts and a sports bra of the same colour; she was slightly covered in sweat due to the harsh training she wore in the gym.

She walked towards Ayato and the group while wearing a white towel around her neck, cleaning the sweat off her forehead and ignoring the constant stare from the students who passed her by, most noticeably from the male population.

"Hey, Ashley!" Nora said as she walked towards the girl. "Ashley! We spoke about this!" Nora argued as she stopped and pouted at Ashley. "You can't walk through the school like this!" She argued.

"Walking to see my friends is easier than just going straight to the showers. Also, I will continue training in my MMA fighting styles and practice a little martial arts." Ashely said.

"Hey, Ashley," Ayato said as he and Kayame walked down the hall to meet with Ashley, the two of the only male population not drooling over her appearance. "How was the training?" Ayato asked.

"Good." She replied.

"You didn't make it to the club." Ayato reminded.

I'm sorry, I was busy with training and studying. I do promise I will make it another time." Ashley said, gesturing towards Ayato before laying her hand down to her side.

"Nah, you didn't miss much," Kayame said. "Not when these two bozos kept messing up a good story," Kayame said with his arms behind his head like a pillow; his comment earned him a grimaced look from Ayato and Nora.

"Only because you messed it up with your crumby idea," Ayato argued.

"The only thing that's crumby is Nora's tacky, ugh… Romance…" Kayame gave a disgusted look, ready to vomit at the mention of the word "Romance".

"You two are such big jerks!" Nora argued again.

"Will you three stop fighting…" The group turned their attention to a taller-looking teen. He had light green hair in a smooth style going down to his chin level; he was muscular and tall, taller than Kayame. He wore the same school outfit as Ayato and the others, except for Ashley. "School policy indicates no fighting is allowed on the premises." The teen replied.

"Oh, come on, Gren! That's for when things get physical; we're not physical!" Ayato argued.

"Not yet anyway…" Kayame cracked his knuckles while looking at Ayato.

"You have a bad fighting habit…" Ayato added.

"I can't help it; I got nothing constructive to do." Kayame lied in response.

"Yeah, right…" Ayato said.

The names of the two students were Ahsley Rashin and Gren Cosmos, the final members of the story club.

"So where were you, Gren?" Ayato asked as he looked up at his friend.

"My apologies. I was monitoring the dimensional area of the hallway, ensuring no errors or mischief were taking place under the protective watch of the school faculty." Gren replied, earning silence from his friends. "In other words, I was hall monitoring.".

"Then say that, then!" Kayame argued.

"Well, Kayame, Ayato, and I were going to go to my place to study for our upcoming project. Would you two like to study with us? It'll be fun." Nora asked happily.

"Thanks, Nora, but I still have much more training," Ashley replied.

"I also have some important tasks at home that my superiors have assigned me, and I need to finish them." Gren was also rejected. "But I promise we'll spend time together another day.".

"When you say Superiors, you mean your folks at home, right?" Ayato asked.

"Of course, as always. Do you never refer to your parental guardians as your Superiors? "Gren asked Ayato.

"My mom, yes, my dad, no…" Ayato replied.

"You're such a goody-two-shoes Gren," Kayame added.

(Location: Downtown)

Later, Ayato, Kayame and Nora were walking down the street with a crowd of people surrounded by large buildings. The three friends were discussing with each other what to do.

"So, I think we should go eat somewhere and then go to my place to study," Nora said, looking at Ayato and Kayame with her arms behind her back.

"Sounds like a plan to me." Kayame agreed.

"Ditto." Ayato also agreed. "Do you hear something?" Ayato asked them.

"Hear what? I don't hear anything," Kayame said, but something became louder. "Now I hear it," Kayame added.

Soon, as the three friends stopped in their tracks, they heard a squad of police cars moving at an alarming rate towards the city's centre. It was so loud that even the walking civilians chose to stop and spectate what was happening. A car was moving at high speed, leading the other police cars, who were all chasing it. Soon, the cars vanished behind the buildings, and the rogue car was gone.

"Ayato!" Nora called, looking at her short friend. Ayato shook his head before looking at Nora. "Come on, let's go; we decided to go to McDonald's," Nora said.

"Y-Yeah…" Ayato agreed.

"I hope everything is okay…" Nora said quietly. "There were a lot of police cars there." She added.

"Hey guys, I think I left my iPhone back at school; I'll go and quickly get it, alright." Ayato gave a weird smile. "I'll be back, okay." Ayato then ran back to school.

"Hey Ayato, wait!" Nora called out, but Ayato was gone.

"What's wrong?" Kayame asked.

"Ayato just used his phone not long ago to call his parents. Why would he leave?" Nora asked but left with Kayame anyway, where they soon met with Ayato.

Down a deserted alleyway, Ayato looked around to see if there were any witnesses, but there were none. It was his opportunity to get dressed. Ayato opened his handbag, revealing a few clothes in there. He removed his pants and replaced them with blue Jeans, then his Nikes with brown knee-high boots placed a coal-dark hoodie with a white zipper over his school shirt and added a pair of brown gloved gauntlets, the same as the boots. Ayato then placed the final touch, a white mask over his head, placing all his former clothes into his handbag.

"Oh, by the way, the National Demon… It's me!" Ayato thought to himself.

Ayato jumped on the walls of the alleyway and ran up it before eventually jumping to the top and diving back into the city, where he then threw his hand towards a wall, a black chain connected with diamond-shaped chains to a wall allowing him to swing, once he let go of the chains then shot another, and repeated the process until he left off the chains again and repeated the process once again.

(Location: Further Downtown)

"SHOOT THEM! SHOOT THEM!" Three men were in the car, two in the front and one in the back. The man in the back held an AK rifle and leaned to the back window, where he began shooting bullets against the police cars.

People in the street screamed and ducked as the bullets flew everywhere, even the police cars, causing some to crash and some to move out of control, skidding across the street before coming to a halt.

"Come on! Come on!" The driver panicked.

"This wasn't how things were supposed to go! We were supposed to steal from the safe, and that's it! There hardly anything worth stealing from that guy!" The passenger next to the driver exclaimed angrily.

"Shut up! I didn't know he had nothing good!" The driver exclaimed back. "We just need to lose the cops and escape them!" The driver said. "KEEP THROWING IT AT THEM!" He yelled at the passenger in the back, who nodded and kept firing.

BANG! Suddenly, a loud noise came from the vehicle's roof, and the passenger and driver in the front looked up.

"What was that?!" The passenger next to the driver exclaimed.

"I don't know!" The driver said. "Keep firing!" He ordered the passenger in the back, recognizing that the sounds of gunfire stopped. "I said keep firing!" He ordered again, still not hearing gunshots. "Are you listening?!" He quickly turned his head to the back before returning it to the front view. But then his eyes widened in realization, and he looked back again, only seeing the gunner in the back gone.

"He's gone?! He's gone. Where did he go?!" He turned his head towards the passenger, only to see he was also gone.

"WHAT?!" He yelled in surprise.

He heard a knocking on his window, which startled him; he looked to see if it was a gloved hand before opening it. Ayato's head then looked down, which was upside down in the driver's perspective.

"Hello! How are we doing today?" Ayato asked kindly.

"What the fu-BEEP!" The driver said but was cut off conveniently by the horn of a police car in the back.

"I know, I get that all the time! Well, technically, with less colourful words." Ayato said. "I don't know if you noticed, but there is a squad of cop cars after you. I don't know about you, but once you have cops after you, you're supposed to stop and let them check your driver's license; it's simply driving one-on-one." Ayato said. "I mean, you're face to face with the National Demon, hero of the island. What else could happen to you?".

The driver was still driving as he continued to panic.

"Hey, I know you're scared. I'd probably be scared if I drove a hundred kilometres or around ninety miles an hour. You know what? I have noticed that America only uses miles, but the whole world uses kilometres; what's the difference?" Ayato said in a conversation with the driver. "It's confusing, you know. I'm more of a kilometre person, but that's just me." Ayato added.

"Hey, wanna stop for McDonald's? I'm getting hungry, are you?" Ayato asked.

The driver then got angry, grabbed his pistol, and pointed it at Ayato. Ayato quickly grabbed the driver's wrist. "Uhh, nope! Sorry." Ayato apologized, preventing the driver from shooting his gun.

The driver tried to get his arm free from Ayato, but to no avail; he was just too strong for him to budge his arm from him.

"Give me that!" Ayato took the pistol from the driver's hand and threw it away. "Alley-op!" Ayato said as he tossed it. "Now, what are you going to do? You got nothing…" Ayato said. The driver quickly grabbed something from beneath the dashboard of the seat next to him, let go of the wheel and pointed a weapon at Ayato: an AK rifle. "WHAT THE FU-BEEP!" Another conveniently timed horn from a police car cut Ayato's words off.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

The AK rifle shot its bullets at Ayato, who quickly dodged the bullets and went back to the roof of the car. But the driver quickly took his hands back on the wheel before shooting the rifle with only one hand at the roof. Ayato kept moving around the vehicle until the AK rifle ran out of bullets; once it did, Ayato then grabbed the driver by the shirt and threw him in the air. The driver yelled as he was falling before eventually being wrapped around chains that soon connected to the building, leaving him hanging around.

Once that was done, Ayato looked forward only for his eyes to widen further at sight before him; two kids were walking across the street, too far in for them to dodge. "Oh great…" Ayato moaned. "Just what I needed," Ayato added. "Well, I know the drill," Ayato said to himself.

As the kids began walking, a shadow soon appeared over them, with the sounds of cars scraping and people gasping and yelling. The kids turned to their right when they heard these sounds. The kids looked at the shadow that was over them in awe. The shadow was revealed to be Ayato, standing in front of them but almost leaning at a 90-degree angle; that was because, on his back, he was holding the front of the car over his whole body before eventually… BANG! He dropped the car behind him, heaving from carrying its weight.

"Thanks, mister!" The little girl said.

"Yeah, that was cool!" The little boy said.

You're… Welcome." Ayato breathed before swinging away.

Police cars stopped, surrounding the driver; officers came out and pointed their guns at him, and the driver sighed angrily.

(Location: McDonald's)

Around twenty minutes later, Ayato arrived, in his school uniform and without his mask, at his destination, where he would meet his friends. He entered the fast-food restaurant and found Kayame and Nora eating burgers and meals. "Hey Ayato!" Kayame said as Ayato approached them.

"Hey guys," Ayato replied. "SorryI'm late; I had to take care of a few things." Ayato apologized as he sat down.

"Take care? I thought you went back to school to find your iPhone?" Nora asked in confusion.

"Y-Yeah, that's what I meant!" Ayato said. "I-I mean, what else could I have been doing?" Ayato's sweat dropped.

"Yeah… Right…" Kayame said awkwardly. "I'm a go and get some more food." Kayame then walked back to the counter.

"Ayato, we need to talk," Nora said in a slightly serious expression.

"If it's about the toilet flooding or the strange smoke smell yesterday, I can explain." Ayato defended.

"What, no, it's about! That was you that smelled like smoke?" Nora asked in confusion.

"I never smoke, but I have an explanation for that," Ayato said.

"Whatever, that's not what I wanted to talk about," Nora said. "I wanted to talk to you about our school project. It's important, and lately, you've become somewhat untrustworthy…" Nora said as she continued. "You've been missing lessons, taking retakes of exams more often, and bailing out on us a lot. And it's been going on for the past few months, almost since last year.".

Nora looked upset at Ayato, "This project is important; it's about what we should do in future, and it's compulsory. If we don't finish this properly, we'll have to retake the project sometime next semester, and it'll slow things down for me, Kayame, and you. Me and Kayame already decided to do some jobs in future as a career choice, but you haven't picked anything, and tomorrow is the presentation.".

"Look, I know I've been messing up recently, and I'm sorry that I did, I am. But I had a lot of things to do, people to meet and a lot to deal with in terms of my family. I don't wanna let you and Kayame down, I don't, but I had some important things to take care of." Ayato explained, attempting to defend himself without telling the actual truth to his friends.

"And you've been talking about important stuff you had to do, but you haven't told Kayame or me anything. What's going on?" Nora asked.

"Look I… I'm sorry Nora…" Ayato apologized. "I-I know I haven't been the best friend with you or the greatest friend, but I want you to understand that I… I promise to help tonight; I do." Ayato said.

"Ayato…" Nora said annoyingly, making Ayato feel guilty. Nora paused for a second before looking at Ayato and sighing once again. "I understand; you probably have a little bit on your plate. Just promise me you'll meet us tonight." Nora said.

"Yes, Nora, I promise," Ayato said with a smile.

"Serves up!" Kayame said, placing some food on the table. After a couple of minutes of eating, the group sat down and waited to digest their meals; meanwhile, two police officers were behind them eating until…

"We got a bank robbery in progress; we need backup; possible hostages have been taken." A voice came from the radio on the officer's clothes, and as soon as the call ended, the officers finished their food and rushed towards their squad car, immediately turning the alarms on and driving away towards the bank. However, even though the police officer was far from Ayato, he heard the call from afar.

"Hey guys…" Ayato started. "I'm going to head home for now. My parents are gone, so I must check the house to see if everything is good, okay?" Ayato asked.

"Sure." Kayame agreed.

"Alright…" Nora said, uneasy. "But please meet us at my place tonight, Ayato." Nora pleaded.

"I promise," Ayato promised before he left the restaurant.

While running, Ayato grabbed his mask and looked at it, saying, "I just got one little thing to do first…".

(Location: National Bank)

Inside the golden tan, brown hallways of the National Bank were a group of men and women dressed in black wearing hockey masks and combat masks, holding AK rifles, shotguns, pistols and more. Some of the thieves were loading plastic bags of money into crates. A few others were holding their weapons against a small group of people, bystanders, employees and even a security guard who was lying down on the ground with a bleeding head, an early attempt which failed, allowing the thief to hit him in the head, the security guard was comforted by a female employee.

"COME ON! FASTER! FASTER!".

"THE COPS WILL BE HERE SOON!".

"WE GOT GET OUT OF HERE!".

Yelling was heard in the bank as the thieves rushed to prepare the money for their retreat. One of the thieves was looking out the window.

"HEY! DON'T MOVE!" One of the gunners pointed an AK rifle at a woman who was slightly crying, unable to control herself.

"WE GOT A PROBLEM!" The gunner by the window announced.

"What's the problem?!" One of the gunners who wore a grey mask asked, indicating he was the Leader of the thieves.

"The cops are here! I repeat! The cops are here. They surrounded our escape route!" The tief called out.

"WHAT?!" The Leader exclaimed. "Oh great! Just my day!" He spoke.

"What do we do?!" One of the female thieves asked.

"We have no choice; we'll have to force our way out." The Leader said before he looked at the hostages. "On second thought, we can always bargain our way out… With a little persuasion." He looked at the crying woman.

"Please, I have three kids, they need me…" The woman begged.

"I just became a mother, please…" Another woman who was on the ground with the security guard pleaded.

"Please, I'm about a father…" A male employee with his arms up begged.

"All the more reason the cops want you people alive. We'll get out of here faster with at least ONE example. Now get over here…" The Leader said as he began walking towards the hostages.

"Seriously!" The man and everyone else looked behind the Leader and saw Ayato leaning against a stone collum with his elbow. "Have you ever played Mortal Kombat? It's not. Now get over here; it's GET OVER HERE! You know?" Ayato asked.

The thieves immediately pointed their guns at Ayato. Ayato placed his arms up and said, "Oh wow! Seriously, we're going to be doing this now. I mean, come on, guys; I'm not even armed!" Ayato complained.

"Keep talking, and you will be disarmed, permanently…" The Leader said.

"Oh, I see what you did there! Touche!" Ayato jokingly said.

"I hate this guy…" The Leader whispered to himself. "CUFF HIM!" He said to his accomplice, who then walked towards Ayato with a wire in his hands.

He then walked behind Ayato and placed his hands behind him. "Hey, wanna see a magic trick?" Ayato asked.

"SHUT UP!" The guy behind him yelled.

"Okay…" Soon, the sounds of wires tying were heard. "And…" once the wire was tied. "TADA!" Ayato moved away, gesturing to the man who attempted to tie Ayato's wrists only tied his own.

"WHAT?! HOW?! YOU SON OF-?!".

"Let's keep things PG, okay?" Ayato said before the man could swear.

"That's it! Shoot him!" The Leader said as he began shooting Ayato, who then jumped away to the ceiling, where he hid behind the pillars. "Keep your eyes up!" The Leader ordered as he and a few of his recruits pointed their weapons at the ceiling while two of them were pointing theirs towards the hostages.

TSSSK! "AHHHH!" One of the men holding an AK rifle was wrapped in black chains before being pulled up into the air to the ceiling. Everyone looked and saw that the man was gone.

TSSSK! Another chain was shot towards a woman holding an AK rifle, pulling her away. "AH!" She screamed.

TSSSK! Another thief was pulled away, "AHHH!" They yelled.

Soon, the thieves were pulled away by Ayato, eventually leaving only the two thieves who were watching the hostages, the thief by the window who watched the police, and the Leader behind.

"JUST SHOOT ONE OF THEM NOW!" The Leader yelled at the two thieves, who aimed their weapons at the hostages, ready to shoot them.

BANG! Ayato landed behind the two thieves, throwing his wrists towards the guns. He shot chains out and pulled them away from the thieves, who were now disarmed. The two thieves attempted to go after and attack Ayato.

Ayato dodged one of their punches, which created an opening for the other to punch him. However, he grabbed the man's arms and threw him away, causing him to stumble away from him, giving Ayato the time to attack the other thief, who once again punched him.

Ayato grabbed the thief's arm while he tried to punch him before elbowing him in the ribs, causing him to stumble back. Ayato dropped to the ground and slipped his leg in a spin, causing the thief's legs to lose their footing and allowing him to fall onto his back.

The other thief caught his balance and ran towards Ayato, with another punch in progress. Ayato kept dodging the man's punches before eventually moving his leg, causing him to stumble forward again, falling to his chest on the ground.

The other man got up from the floor and attempted to attack Ayato. However, Ayato started to feel a little bit off. His eyes immediately looked at the man by the window, acting as a guard pointing a high-calibre sniper rifle at him. As the man was about to punch Ayato… POW! The sniper shot a bullet towards him.

Everything seemed to slow down a bit for Ayato, hearing the screams of the hostages and the slow movement of the thieves. Ayato immediately ducked and kicked his leg at the thief's leg, causing him to fall again, and it was lucky, too, because the bullet just narrowly missed the thief; the bullet hit a pillar stuck to it, and no one was hurt.

Ayato grabbed the thief's arm again and threw him away with force as if he were an American Football (Author's Note: Those weird brown balls Americans throw). Once the man was thrown between two pillars, Ayato shot a bunch of chains at the pillars, locking the man in place.

The other thief grabbed Ayato from behind, but Ayato quickly slipped out of his grasp and pushed him down, making him land on his knees. Once he turned around and faced Ayato on the ground, Ayato shot some more chains at the man, locking him on the ground.

While the fight was happening, the group leader quickly rushed towards a crate and grabbed a bag of money and something else…

Meanwhile, the sniper shot a few rounds at Ayato, who was dodging the bullets with acrobatic-like jumps and movements. He first dived into the air to the ground, landing on his hands. Ayato then did a flip and landed on his feet before eventually repeating the process, and again, causing the sniper to shoot at the place Ayato once was.

Once Ayato reached the sniper, he kicked the gun away. KICK! The gun fell quite a distance away from them. The sniper watched as his gun landed far away before returning his attention to Ayato, who then shot chains around him, wrapping him. He fell forward, but Ayato caught him.

"HEY!" Ayato looked at the source of the yell and saw the Leader holding the mysterious object, with a duffle bag containing a lot of money. "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!" He yelled as he pointed the object at Ayato.

Ayato's eyes widened once he recognized what the object was: it was a grenade launcher. "OH COME ON! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!" Ayato yelled.

"Ebay, what else?!" The man smirked before he shot a grenade at Ayato.

Ayato jumped away with the sniper in his hands. BOOM! The grenade landed where Ayato once stood, blowing up the area.

Ayato landed on the ground and dropped the sniper, letting him struggle in his bindings.

Ayato jumped. BOOM! Ayato jumped again. BOOM! Ayato kept jumping, and the spot he once stood at blew up every time he jumped. It seemed repetitive, but that would all come to an end soon.

The Leader looked at the grenade launcher and noticed only one grenade left before he had to reload it. Ayato jumped on the ground in front of the Leader with his hands on his hips and said, "Well, looks like the fun is over. Surrender now, and I will make sure I don't tie you up too hard.".

The Leader looked at Ayato before looking at the grenade launcher. He looked at the tip of the weapon before looking at where it was pointed; he then smiled and said, "Not unless cover you in a blood bath!". The Leader then pointed the weapon towards the hostages.

"NO!" Ayato yelled, but it was too late; he shot the grenade towards the hostages before running away.

Everything seemed to be slowing down for Ayato once again; he jumped as fast as he could but would never make it in time to stop the grenade. They shot from both hands to chains, which then wrapped around the grenade. Ayato then did a 360 side turn to his right before throwing the grenade at the spot where the Leader was running to, an exit.

BOOM! Everything returned to its average pace; the ceiling above the exit crumbled, falling and blocking off the Leader's escape route.

The Leader quickly turned around and attempted to reload the grenade launcher, but Ayato rushed towards him and PUNCH! Delivered a right hook going upwards against the Leader's chin, causing him to fall 1 meter backwards and 1 meter in the air before hitting the ground, causing the money to fall out of his back like a rainbow trailing towards him.

The Leader attempted to lift his head but lost consciousness, falling.

Money spread everywhere, the thieves were defeated, and all Ayato did was look down at the thief. "All in a day's work for the National Demon!" Ayato said, with his fists against his waist. "Now, what was it I was supposed to do again?" Ayato scratched the area, his chin on the mask.

"MOVE IN! MOVE IN!" Ayato turned his head to the main doors of the bank and heard the yell of several men coming.

"Oh yeah! Time to scadoo!" Ayato said as he swung upwards to the ceiling.

BANG! The doors slammed open as a SWAT team appeared, holding their weapons in the air. "Secure the hostages!" The Leader of the group called to his men.

"Sir, they're all down." One of the SWAT men spoke to his commander.

"I can see that." The commander replied.

"Who did this?" One of the SWAT members asked as they looked at the hostages but couldn't find Ayato anywhere.

"I think we all know the answer to that." The commander said as he lowered his weapon while looking at the unconscious Leader of the group, who was now wrapped in chains.

On the ceiling, Ayato watched as the SWAT team began leading the hostages outside, allowing an ambulance team to pick up the security and escort the thieves outside. Ayato climbed through the glass windows, picked up his handbag and left.

(Location: Kaze Residence)

A couple of hours later, as night fell, Ayato swung to his house, where he entered through a window. "Home at last…" Ayato said. "Took a little bit of time, helping people on the way and all; I'm glad I could help today…" Ayato said. "I wonder why I come home?" Ayato said to himself. "I remember speaking to Nora, and NO!" Ayato yelled. "I forgot, that was a lie. I was supposed to meet her back at her place for the project!" Ayato exclaimed as he picked up his iPhone and began ringing Nora, but there was no answer.

"Oh no…" Ayato said quietly.

(Location: National Island High)

"You three fail…" A teacher dressed in a grey suit and opened jacket, wearing glasses with white hair, said in a lifeless tone.

"I AM SO SCREWED!" Ayato thought to himself as he was facing the classroom.

"You idiot!" Nora growled, her face red and eyes clenched, fists shaking; she stood to Ayato's right, facing the classroom.

"Well, I guess I kind of expected that," Kayame said while scratching the back of his head; he was located on Nora's right side.

"Since you failed the project, you three will redo the subject again. I hope this serves as a lesson to you all?" The Teacher asked as he looked at the students before him.

"Make sure you all do well in your careers, and you'll be rich and successful, unlike me… Understand?" The Teacher asked.

"Yes, Mr White." The students, except for Ayato, Kayame and Nora, said in unison. "He's so depressing…" The students thought in unison as their sweat dropped.

(Location: Outside School)

A few hours passed, and school ended; Ayato, Kayame, and Nora were all walking down the path home alone, trapped in the school for an extra period due to detention. The sun was setting, and the sky was beginning to turn orange.

Ayato looked forward to where Nora was located and spoke after a long day of silence from her. "Hey, Nora… About that project, I'm-.".

"Sorry?" Nora turned her head slightly to the right, sounding angry upon turning her head. "It's okay, Ayato, I understand…".

"Oh, really?! Okay, for a second, I thought you were mad at me and-.".

"OF COURSE I'M MAD AT YOU!" Nora screamed. "You know, of all the people I know, you are the most untrustworthy!" Nora argued as she turned her body towards Ayato.

"N-Nora, I'm sorry! I-I didn't want us to fail the test and-!" Ayato explained as he threw his hands defensively before him while backing away from Nora.

"It's not just about the project Ayato!" Nora growled, lowering her volume a bit. "It's… About everything you know…" Nora said with a sad expression.

"Lately, you've been ignoring, lying, and constantly leaving us behind. We can never properly spend time together as friends. I miss those days; I want us to go out together, laugh, have fun and everything else but… But now you're always going alone…" Nora said.

"Nora, I'm sorry I just… Please let me explain!" Ayato said, trying to get her attention while nervously sweating.

"Forget it, Ayato, I'm done!" Nora said as she stomped away from him back to her home.

"NORA WAIT!" Ayato called out, but it was too late. Nora had already left him and Kayame behind.

"Oh, man…" Ayato said.

"Just give her some time, dude," Kayame said as he touched Ayato's shoulder. "Maybe you both need to figure things out for a bit?".

"Both?".

"You gotta admit, Nora has a point. We don't know where you go, and we also don't know what you're doing. We're friends, aren't we? Since childhood, I thought people like you and me are supposed to have each other's back?" Kayame said as Ayato turned to him. "You gotta decide, whatever you're doing, you gotta let us in on it because if you don't, then you don't trust us; you gotta pick which side of the bridge you're on, Ayato.".

It was a rare moment for Kayame, but he was right; Ayato had to admit that. He looked down at the ground in wonder.

(Location: Kaze Residence)

Later, Ayato, now in his hero outfit, swung to his house and entered through the door. He was still deep in thought about what Kayame had said to him. "I do trust Kayame and Nora as much as I would trust them with my life." Ayato arguably thought, "But Kayame's right… It's rare, but it's true. I've got to be more honest with them. They don't know about my superhero life." Ayato thought.

"Then again, why should I put them through this? If reading superhero comics and TV shows has taught me anything, it is that the people who upset the hero always want revenge. I can't put them through that, and if anything happens, those guys will know my secret identity and my family will be in trouble!" Ayato thought.

"I guess I gotta pick my poison… Option one, leave everything the way they are, lose my grades and the potential for a good job in future and my friends, or option two, tell them my secret or maybe everyone I upset will come after them and either kill them or torture them…" Ayato removed his mask and looked at it.

"Or option three, just quit…" Ayato gazed at the mask for a bit before touching the inside of his hoodie to feel his necklace. He closed his eyes before opening them again. "No, she wouldn't want that at all. I can't quit, but I can't just let everything else bad happen to me and my friends.".

Ayato placed his mask on the Sofa before sitting down and turning the TV on. "Welcome to National Island News!" A red news title showed the words NIN on the screen before fading to the Anchorman.

"Good night, everybody. As many of you may have heard, the National Bank heist was FOILED by our Saviour, once again, the National Demon, but of course, it was not without any questions about our hero. Who is he? What is he? Why is he helping people? And why is it so short? Not sure why some people ask that question thought.".

"I'm not short!" Ayato complained to the TV.

"In other news, the criminals have been processed and are awaiting trial. Meanwhile, people continue to ask questions about where these advanced weapons came from?" The Anchorman said as pictures of the bank robbers were shown on the screen.

Ayato looked at the TV before saying, "That is true. First shotguns, AK rifles, and now grenade launchers?! And the guys I fought in that car chase the other day were amateurs, but I also don't think those guys at the bank could get that kind of equipment. What is going on here?".

"Is there some kind of fire sale for advanced weapons I don't know about?" Ayato continued.

"Not too long ago, another crime was foiled by the National Demon! This time, a car chase ended with the criminals being tied up and sent to prison for their crimes! Strangely, they also had advanced weapons in their possession." The Anchorman said before the screen turned to a recording of the first two guys Ayato tied in chains hanging on poles before returning to the driver of the three. The screen then changed to a female reporter.

"In other news, there are suggestions that the weapons may have come from the warehouse district, but that is speculation; there are no real answers yet. Police are asking the public for help information regarding any info that could help the investigation through the rise of advanced military weapons being in the hands of individuals like today. Some people suggest the abandoned docks could be where the weapons are being brought in, but there are no confirmations yet." The female news reporter said.

"Not yet, but tonight, there will be. It's time to go and check it out." Ayato placed his mask back on before leaving through the door and swinging away.

(Location: Warehouse District)

Later at night, Ayato swung to the warehouse district and the abandoned docks. There, an enormous warehouse which was damaged inside and out over time had lights in it, surrounded by crates and a body of water beneath it.

Ayato had just landed and looked at the warehouse doors. No one was in sight, and everything seemed clear. "Okay… Time to check it out…" Ayato said as he grabbed the doors and tried to pull them out but couldn't. He looked closer to see a lock and pin on the door with chains covering it.

"Hmmm…" Ayato wondered. "Now, why would anyone want to lock this warehouse up if it's abandoned and nothing worth stealing?" Ayato said as he smiled behind his mask. "Well, if they think that's gonna stop me, it ain't…".

Ayato pointed his right index finger up before lighting it in black flames and placing it on the lock until it melted off and fell. CLING! BOOM! The lock broke and fell to the ground.

"Alright, so where are the weapons?" Ayato asked as he then opened the door to reveal… Nothing!

"What?! Where are the weapons?!" Ayato exclaimed. Suddenly, Ayato heard weapons aiming and turned around, only to see he was surrounded by men in black armour and gear pointing their guns at him.

"They're right here." Said a guard with a smile on his face.

"Oh no…" Ayato said as he looked at the overwhelming number of men around him. In times like this, he wishes he wasn't fighting alone…

To Be Continued.

(Omake: CHIBI TALES!)

A Chibi version of Ayato is looking at the readers, inside of a white office room with a white board in blue saying Chibi Tales and saying, "HEY GUYS! WELCOME TO CHIBI TALES! HERE WE'LL BE GOING THROUGH SOME FUN AFTERMATH ADVENTURES WITH YOUR MAIN HOST! ME!".

"WHAT?!" A Chibi version of Kayame burst from the right side of the viewer. "WHY YOU?!" Kayame angrily said. "YOU GOT THE BEST PARTS OF THIS CHAPTER?!" Kayame angrily said.

"Well duh I'm the main character!" Ayato said.

"That's not fair!" A Chibi Nora appeared with Kayame. "You got more lines than we did?!" Nora argued. "I thought we were friends!" Nora argued.

"We are friends!" Ayato said.

"LOOKS LIKE WE'RE OUT OF TIME! PLEASE JOIN US NEXT TIME ON CHAPTER TWO! HAVE A SAFE DAY EVERYONE!" Ayato, Kayame, and Nora said in unison.

Author's Note: OH BOY! It's been a long time since I last wrote a story! I am so glad to be back here in my mojo! Now I have a lot to discuss with you guys and I mean A LOT!

So first, ever since 2020 I have been thinking about this story a lot, and I have decided to redo again, this time it is permanent, so all the chapters of this story will be deleted but don't worry, I'll re-upload the chapters in another story file, probably gonna call it something like old stories so people get to see them from the past. Now I have decided to do these changes because some of the characters besides Ayato is important, my original intention was for Kayame and Nora to appear in like book 6 or something like that or book 7, but that'd be too late, and I decided to redo the story idea on my head.

Now as for Fanfiction, it still will be a crossover fanfic, I want you guys to stay with me on this because I will make multiple side stories based in the same universe as this story to explain everything. The next story you should in a few weeks' time is Fall Of A Hero, which will get a massive rewrite since the events will be placed sometime around the evens of this story.

I will still have this labelled as a Naruto and Fairy Tail crossover but don't expect any of the main cast members to show up in this story anytime soon or at all in this book, but the side stories will explain their roles in this universe so please give this on a chance.

I want everyone to note importantly that this story was uploaded on 2018, but I want everyone to know that this chapter was released on 16th March 2024.

Everything is coming together for me right now, its been a rough couple of years for me but I am now officially getting better.

Now as for the heartbreaking news I'm sure everyone has heard about, if not then you've been living under a rock but, Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dr Slump, the designer of Dragon Quest and Blue Dragon, and the author of his flagship franchise Dragon Ball, has unfortunately, and sadly passed away at the age of 86 on March 1st 2024, his work was the inspiration of many other manga and anime, and probably the animation community as a whole. His work has made many people happy and inspired many series because of it. Series like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail would probably never exist if Dragon Ball was never created, RIP to a legend, and a memory for the greatest Manga artist in the world who will never be forgotten.

Please do not forget to READ AND REVIEW on Fanfic, or on Wattpad COMMENT or on Webnovel COMMENT on this story.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

Thanks dudes😊.
