"Welcome to the Panara region. In this region, Pokemon roam freely and live alongside trainers. There are many programs here to prepare young trainers to be ready to train, care for, and battle their Pokemon companions. Here at Rainstorm Academy, you will choose a starter partner from a fire, water, and grass type and set off on your mission. The region is huge, so don't miss a chance to explore as much as you can. When you battle wild Pokemon, your bond with your chosen companion will grow, and it may even evolve! Pokemon can even be captured, in small devices called Pokeballs. The Panara region holds its own research lab as well, so Professor Jason can tell you everything you need to know about Pokemon. We can't wait to see you at Rainstorm Academy!"
Dawn straightened her collar and grabbed her bag. Today was the day she was supposed to get her partner Pokemon. She'd been going to Rainstorm Academy for a few weeks now, and learning everything she could about Pokemon. The school was designed to teach them the basics, then have them show what they've learned during the field test. Dawn was looking forward to this day since she started going to Rainstorm Academy. She'd never seen a Pokemon before moving closer to the school.
Her dad handed her a lunch he'd just finished packing. "Be safe, sweety. I won't be there to protect you, you know."
"I know, but you worry too much! I'll be fine. And I'll be sure to call you if things start looking bad."
He placed a kiss to her forehead. "Okay. You have to show me the Pokemon you pick! I'm sure you and your pal will get along just fine."
"And you have to tell me what you'll be up to! I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too, sweety. You'll want to go now though! You'll be late!"
She hurried out the door. "I'll make sure to stay safe! I'll see you later, daddy!"
He waved her off.
There was a wave of students coming into the school. Some were new students, who couldn't take part of the field test just yet. She waved to her friend, Sasha, as she passed her.
"What's the rush?" Sasha called.
"Sorry, I'm just really excited!"
"Me too, but slow down a bit!"
Author Note: Hey there! This project is still a work-in-progress, so just like The Stone-Cold Heart, this one will be going on a lot of hiatuses as I work on it. This is also a multi-fandom crossover because I was using some characters as placeholders, but liked them too much to scrap them. (Oops! ;)
Thankfully, the plot is being finalized as I make this, so the hiatuses shouldn't be too often for too long. I'll still be working on other stories on top of this though (I really need to finish up Plus Ultra!), but I'll try to stay consistent on the updates. (Still no updating on Saturdays and Sunday though!). The Pokemon are also still being worked on, but draco70 helped with the starters, so thanks to her for the help!
As always, Stay Fresh and Don't get cooked, Stay Off the Hook!
