Chapter 1: Protecting His Family

After Noah Puckerman was blinded overseas, he returned to a neighborhood on edge due to home invasion robberies. No one had caught the thieves, and the police had run out of leads. One night, when Quinn was out of town, Noah woke up to glass breaking and grabbed his shotgun from under the bed. He could hear someone breathing, and as he cocked his gun, he heard someone whisper, "Holy shit, he has a gun! Fuck!"

Another voice says, "Shut up, man, he can hear you!" Noah soon smells someone's body odor and fires.

Soon, someone shouts, "Holy fuck, my knee!"

Noah asked, "Have you guys ever watched the movie 'Don't Breathe?'"

Before another one whispers, "God, he's trying to kill us!"

Then the other voice whispers, "Shut up, man."

Noah then senses blood before firing. This time, the other person screams, "God, my knee is shattered! Fuck!"

Soon, a female voice whispered, "Let's go! He can't identify us anyway."

Noah aims his gun again before saying, "There are other ways to identify a person, bitch!"

He shoots again and hears the female scream, "My hip! Let's get out of here!"

Soon, Noah heard the police arrive and smiled as Quinn screamed, "This is my house, and the man with the gun is my husband! He was blinded overseas!"

As Noah walked outside, he heard clapping. Then a male voice said, "Private Puckerman, my name is Michael Young, and in all my years in law enforcement, I have never seen anyone quite like you. I bet those punks will think twice about trying to rob you again."

Noah smirks and says, "I think one of them crapped themselves before you guys arrived."

Noah heard someone say, "God, this guy needs a shower!" before the others laughed.

Later, at the police station, Noah listens to different voices on a tape recorder and picks out the voices of the kids who tried to rob him. After identifying the thief's voice, he hears an old lady say, "Which of you helped put these punk kids away?"

Noah stands up and says, "Private Noah Puckerman, at your service, ma'am."

The old lady soon laughed and said, "It took a blind man one night to catch those punks, and you morons spent three months trying to find them!"

Noah chuckles before the old lady says, "I watched Don't Breathe the night they came to my house. Those punks thought that would never happen to them. Well, at least you weren't hiding a dirty little secret like the guy in the movie."

Noah replies, "I may be blind, but I'm not a psycho."

Then he heard the female who had tried to rob him say, "You could've fooled me!"

Noah said, "Bitch, I'm not the one who tried to rob a blind man here! Now, if you want to talk about crazy, I think that was crazy! You thought you were robbing a defenseless blind man who couldn't fight back and found out you were wrong."

Then Quinn says, "You're lucky. All you got was a shot in the hip, bitch." As Noah tries to keep her from attacking the other girl.

While there, they learned that the robbers were Sabrina Duncan, Robert Duncan, and Tom Stone. Sabrina and Robert were cousins. Tom was Sabrina's boyfriend, and the whole robbery plan was Sabrina's. The funny thing was that she got the idea for the robberies from the movie Don't Breathe. But she didn't count on Noah being just as ready to fight as The Blind Man from the film Don't Breathe.

Quinn and Noah visited Burt Hummel a week later and learned about his granddaughter, Liza Marie, being kidnapped. As they left, Burt watched Noah's face as FBI agents spoke with the kidnappers. Burt followed him to his truck, which he insisted Quinn drive since he was blind. Noah loaded his rifle as Burt approached.

Then he asked, "Mr. H, do you remember where your buddy Commander Jake Talbot lives?" As he loaded his rifle.

Burt cleared his throat and said, "He was killed last year, around the same time you became blind, Puck. It can't be him."

Noah said, "I know, but his son Rick lives there now, and Kurt told me about him harassing them. He threatened Liza Marie's life last month, and I'm pretty sure he kidnapped her."

Burt asked, "Did you hear something?"

Noah handed him his truck keys and said, "I heard Sergeant Reynolds yell, 'Move your asses!'"

Then they heard Blaine reply, "I don't want to lose my daughter."

Burt put his hands on Blaine's shoulders and said, "I doubt Puck would be wrong about this, Blaine. Go back inside. I'll deal with Carole and Kurt when we return."

He looked at Noah and said, "Liza Marie might be your daughter, but we both know she loves Puck more than anyone else. Now, go back inside, and we'll be back soon with her."

When Blaine heads inside, Quinn texts Burt, "Puck's unit is still there. Sergeant Reynolds saw Liza Marie looking out of a window. I told him about the kidnapping during the ransom call when I heard him yelling. Puck has one hour, and then I'm telling the FBI. I'm not letting Puck get hurt today, Mr. H!"

Burt replies, "You know Puck better than I do, Quinn. Do you think he will stay out of trouble?" He doesn't wait for a reply and heads to Commander Talbot's house.

When he arrives, the lights are out. Sergeant Reynolds soon stops him. Sergeant Reynolds sees Noah and says, "I cut the power just before you pulled up, Puckerman."

He hands Noah a duffle bag and says, "Your gear is in here; I had an infrared camera attached to your helmet. I know you've been in that house, but I'm not taking any chances."

After Noah got all geared up, he marched to the house and kicked in the door. The others had no time to react before Noah emerged with Liza Marie in his arms. He dragged Rick behind him with a rope tied around his neck. Rick had been shot in three places, and blood was coming from his mouth.

When Noah removed his helmet, Rick saw that he had saved Liza Marie. He exclaimed, "No way, no way, man! A blind man? I got caught by a blind man!"

Liza Marie sticks out her tongue and says, "Not just any blind man, you meanie! This is my uncle, Noah Puckerman! The same man you read about in that newspaper!"

She giggled and said, "Looks like someone peed their pants again!"

Then she looked at the others and said, "He peed himself when he saw Nono in the newspaper."

Soon, they returned to Burt's house, and the lead investigator, Travis Hanson, said to Noah, "I don't know why Mr. Anderson called us. I knew you would get Liza Marie when I saw Congressman Hummel watching your reaction to the ransom call. Sergeant Reynolds called your wife as soon as you got there. General Smith and I are old friends. I'll let the press know you were working with us, and by the way, my boyfriend James's mother is the lady you met last week."

Noah chuckles and says, "Frida is a feisty old broad. Tell James that I think his mom is pretty cool."

They soon heard Blaine scream, "Oh, God, Kurt!" and saw Kurt on the floor, clutching his chest.

Kurt sees Noah and Blaine by his bedside when he wakes up in the ICU. He tells Noah, "Thank you for saving Liza Marie, and if Blaine hasn't told you already, I made you and Quinn Liza Marie's godparents. It was Rachel and Beth's idea. Anyway. I saw your face when you walked in, holding Liza Marie. You had that look when you were around Beth, Well, according to Shelby anyway. Look, Puck, I know she can't replace Beth, but you're the only friend that reminds me of my dad, and no, I was never into you! So, get that grin off your face!"

Noah tells Blaine, "I told you he would deny it, and you owe me thirty bucks, man."

Kurt glared at Blaine as he handed Noah the money. Then, Liza Marie said, "Dad, chill. I found Nonno's pictures hidden under my bed! You look at them every time you fight with Papa. By the way, Nonno, those are pictures Auntie Tana took; only one that showed something I wasn't supposed to see."

Blaine looked at Kurt and asked, "Front or back?"

Liza Marie giggled and said, "Back. I gave it back to Auntie Tana today with the others. By the way, Queenie knew about the pictures too and had to pay G' Pa Burt three hundred dollars."

Then Quinn said, "I was pregnant with Beth at the time, and it was before everybody found out Puck was her dad! I bet Mr. H three hundred dollars that Kurt had a crush on my boyfriend! I didn't name Finn or Puck."

Noah leaned in and whispered in Kurt's ear, "She's pregnant again, and she takes hormone injections. By the way, I told Blaine this before you woke up, but I didn't want to bring it up if you weren't ready for it. I still don't swing that way, but I wasn't about to hide that from you. That's why Quinn was out of town last week."

Noah straightened up and said, "The night those punks came to my house, I hadn't slept in three days and felt like I was going crazy. I had watched the movie Don't Breathe with Quinn about a week before and thought I was dreaming at first. Until I heard that first guy scream, and I thought I would be stopped by your dad tonight."

Kurt chuckled and asked, "Don't you remember how he was when you bullied me?"

Noah chuckled and said to Blaine, "I'm glad he's your man. God, I hope this baby is a girl too."

Then they heard Burt say, "Ow, Quinn! Come on! You think Puck's going to be worse than me?"

Before Carole and Quinn said, "Yes!"

A month after Quinn had their daughter, Lucy, they woke up to glass breaking. Noah heard the commotion, quickly grabbed his rifle from under the bed, and rushed into the living room. Quinn, fearing for their safety, hid in the closet with Lucy, holding her close as the sound of screaming and gunfire filled the air.

Quinn tried to remain calm and shield Lucy from harm. She could hear the intense exchange of gunfire and feared that Noah might be in danger. With every gunshot, her heart raced, and she prayed for their safety.

As time passed, the gunfire stopped, and Quinn heard the sound of police sirens in the distance. Noah cautiously opened the closet door, allowing Quinn to exit the house. What she saw took her breath away. In the living room, she saw five men hogtied and bloodied, each being cut free by the officers.

Quinn watched silently as the men were loaded into the back of a police car. Noah, smiling, turned to the men and said, "Next time you see a blind man, you better think twice about messing with him." Quinn couldn't help but chuckle at the comment but remained silent.

As they were being driven away, Quinn couldn't help but reflect on the events that had just unfolded. She knew that Noah's actions had saved their lives. But she was still shaken by the intensity of the situation. Despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins, Quinn couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that they were now safe.

Quinn looked at Noah. Her admiration for him only grew stronger. She knew what he had been through had tested his physical abilities, resilience, and determination. And as she listened to him say those words, she knew Noah was a force to be reckoned with.

Quinn didn't speak as they drove to the police station, letting Noah's words hang in the air. She reflected on the importance of trust and its role in their relationship. She trusted Noah with her life, and in that moment, she felt a renewed appreciation for the bond they shared.

As they arrived at the police station, Quinn and Noah were taken aback as the officers outside cheered upon their arrival.

The cheers of the officers were a stark contrast to the night's earlier events. They were hailed as heroes, their actions having prevented a potential disaster. As they stepped out of the car, they were greeted by the police chief, a stern-looking woman with a firm handshake. She thanked them for their bravery and assured them that the men responsible would face justice.

Back at home, the adrenaline from the night began to wear off, replaced by exhaustion. Quinn and Noah put Lucy to bed; her innocent face contrasts with the chaos they had just experienced. As they sat in the quiet of their living room, the reality of what had happened began to sink in.

Noah broke the silence. "Quinn, I... I didn't want you to see that side of me again." His voice was filled with regret.

Quinn reached out, taking his hand in hers. "Puck," she said softly. "You did what you had to do to protect us. That's the man I know and love."

In the days that followed, their lives slowly returned to normal. The broken glass was replaced, and the bloodstains were removed. But the memory of that night lingered, a reminder of the strength they possessed and the love they shared.
