Ulrich362: True, and while it looked like SOL Technologies and their allies were doing well against the Hanoi... the real challenge is about to begin.

Ulrich362: A duel that canonically didn't end well. Specter, the Hanoi's second in command taking on Blue Angel. Enjoy the chapter.

Specter, and Blue Angel each appeared in a lone street with a tower in the distance.

"What did you just do?" she questioned.

"Varis had sent us somewhere in the city sector of Link VRAINS for our battle to take place." Specter answered with a grin.

Blue Angel frowned at that before asking, "Answer me something. Was Varis going easy on me in his match with me? He must've been hiding something powerful."

"Oh, that all? Varis isn't one to hold back against people like you. He has nothing to hide, and you felt his true power in your duel against him." Specter revealed to her.

'Then... maybe Gore does have a chance.' she thought before shaking her head. "Right, but we're not here to talk about the past. You, Varis, and Rosaly are the only Hanoi left which means this is almost over."

"Then let's enjoy this." Specter grinned clasping his hands together.

"DUEL!" Blue Angel and Specter called together as they activated their Duel Disks.

Specter 1st Turn:

"I'll be going first." Specter grinned before saying, "I'll start by summoning Sunseed Genius Loci."

What appeared was a small seed like monster.

A seed that can be harvested from the sacred tree once every thousand years. It is said to become the guardian spirit of its land after a millennium.

"No attack points?" Blue Angel questioned seeing the monster.

Specter only grinned raising his arm, "Appear the future circuit that guides us!" The Link Circuit appeared below him this time.

She frowned seeing that. 'A Link Summon, and if he's second in command I need to be careful.'

"Arrowheads confirmed! The summoning conditions require 1 Level 4 or lower Plant Monster." Specter grinned before raising his arm, "I set Sunseed Genius Loci in the Link Marker!"

Genius Loci flew as a tornado into the bottom arrow.

"Link Summon! Link 1, Sunavalon Dryas!"

From that the ground started shaking before what emerged from the ground behind Specter was a small green tree that seems a bit bigger then him with oval pink fruits on it's body but also has a face on it.

Blue Angel blinked seeing the monster. "A Link Monster with zero attack points?"

"My mother Tree cannot be targeted for an attack but that does not stop you from striking me directly passed her." Specter explained to her before adding, "And whenever I use Genius Loci to summon her to my Extra Monster Zone, I take 1 Sunvine Spell or Trap from my Deck to my hand." He adds a card as he said that.

'What's his plan?' Blue Angel thought hearing that before nodding. "Alright."

Specter looked before setting 2 cards, "I end my turn."

"Then it's my turn, so first I'll activate the field spell Trickstar Light Arena!" Blue Angel called.

The field spell glowed trapping Specter's face-down who only shrugged at this.

Specter at this calmly draws his card.

"Now appear again the Circuit of Hopes and Dreams!" Blue Angel called. "The summoning conditions are at least two Trickstars, I place Bloom and Nightshade in the Link Arrows! Circuit Combine, I Link Summon Trickstar Holly Angel!"

Blue Angel frowned at that. 'He knows my deck and I have no idea what kind of strategy he uses.' "You said your monster won't protect you so I attack your life points directly with Trickstar Holly Angel!"

Holly Angel charged with a whip attacking Specter. (Specter: 2000/Hand: 4) But he smirked which Blue Angel notices before seeing Dryas' leaves swaying before Specter spread his arms, "Since I took damage, the effect of Sunavalon Dryas activates!"

"What ability?" Blue Angel questioned hearing that.

"Once per turn, a Sunvine is summoned from my Extra Deck. Come Sunvine Gardna!"

One of Dryas' fruits popped before what appeared from inside was a brown, and beige colored plant monster with two shields.

"But that is only half of it Blue Angel." Specter grinned to her.

She frowned at that. The vines wrapped around Specter glowing as he revealed, "Next all the damage you just dealt is wiped out restoring me back." He sighed as he glowed from the effect. (Specter: 4000/Hand: 4)

Blue Angel's eyes widened hearing that. "Well I can still set two cards and end my turn. And for one last little detail, that set card my Light Arena locked up is forced to activate or it gets sent right back to your hand."

Specter at that adds the card back to his hand making 5 cards in his hand.

"Your turn." Blue Angel told him.

Meanwhile in the Cafe Nom Truck...

"Alright, we're getting close so you two better head in and try to stop whatever it is the Hanoi are up too." Cal told Yusaku and Lilly. "We'll let the others know what's going on once they catch up."

Yusaku nodded before turning to Ai, Lilly, and the female Ignis, "You three ready?"

"Yeah, I'm ready." Lilly nodded only to frown. "I just hope Skye is ok."

The two ready their Duel Disks calling, "Into the VRAINS!" They glowed before their consciousness transferred into Link VRAINS.

Playmaker, and Nyx appeared on their Duel Boards above the ground where they see the large battle between SOL Technologies, and the Knights of Hanoi with a large red tower in the distance.

"These are all small fries, where are the ones in charge?" Ai questioned seeing it.

Sensing something Playmaker turned to the direction of the city.

"There's something there, right?" Nyx asked him.

"Yeah." Playmaker nodded, "Come on."

She nodded as they raced off together.

Back at the duel...

Field: Sunavalon Dryas (Attack Position/Extra Monster Zone), One Set Card

Specter 2nd Turn:

"I'm up draw." Specter drew looking at his drawn card.

Blue Angel frowned. 'What's he going to try now?'

"Appear again, the future circuit that guides us!"

The circuit appeared again with Dryas in the center as Specter explained with a grin, "The summoning conditions are two Plants including a Sunavalon Link Monster! I set Dryas, and Sunvine Gardna in the Link Markers!"

One of Dryas' vines along with Gardna entered the bottom diagonal arrows.

"Link Summon! Link 2, Sunavalon Dryades!"

At that Dryas seemed to be growing evolving more into a bigger tree with ripe orange fruit on her along with a purple skinned fairy spirit emerging from it's trunk with a third eye on her forehead.

"And there's plenty more where that came from." Specter grinned to her before saying, "Next, I'll summon Sunseed Genius Loci!"

A second Genius Loci rose up before Specter called, "Appear circuit that guides us!"

The Circuit appeared again with Dryades at the center before Specter raised a finger, "The summoning conditions is 1 Plant Normal Monster!" Genius Loci shot into the bottom arrow, "Link Summon! Link 1, Sunvine Thrasher!"

This time a blue humanoid plant warrior carrying a longsword on it's back rose up.

"Something tells me there's more to that monster than just having 800 attack points." Blue Angel frowned.

"And that something is right cause, it gains 800 attack points equal to how many Link Markers, Dryades has." Specter grinned as Dryades' leaves gives Thrasher energy, "With 2 Link Markers, Thrasher gains 1600 points."

Thrasher drew his sword gripping it with both hands. (ATK: 800 + (800 * 2) = 2400)

"It's more powerful than my Holly Angel!" Blue Angel cried seeing that.

"Let's battle! Thrasher attack Holly Angel!"

Thrasher charged forward to slash down at Holly Angel. Blue Angel braced herself as her monster shattered.

(Blue Angel: 3600/Hand: 2)

"And here is something else you should know." she looked at Specter who smirked, "When Thrasher destroys a monster in battle, I get to steal that monster to my field."

Dryades' vines reaches in the graveyard portal dragging Holly Angel to her except hypnotized with pink eyes.

Trickstar Holly Angel: (Attack Position)

Blue Angel's eyes widened in shock seeing that. 'There goes that plan, I'll have to figure out something else and fast.'

"Now Holly Angel attack your former master!"

With that Holly Angel used her whip on Blue Angel. Blue Angel braced herself as her own monster attacked her.

"And with 2 cards down, I end my turn." Specter grinned setting 2 more cards.

Blue Angel 2nd Turn:

She drew her card only to frown. 'Ok, he heals if I deal any damage thanks to that tree of his and he took my Holly Angel. Which means if I'm going to have any chance of winning this duel I need to wipe out all of his life points before he can recover them.' "First things first, my Light Arena seals away your middle facedown card until the end phase."

The middle was sealed as Specter stares on.

"Ok, with that done I'll reveal my two facedown spell cards. Trickstar Festival summons two Trickstar Tokens, and Trickstar Magical Laurel brings back Trickstar Bloom from my graveyard." Blue Angel continued.

"Now this is a monster, I haven't seen..." Specter trailed off seeing it.

"This is my most powerful Trickstar." Blue Angel told him. "And since she doesn't point to any monster, you take 200 points of damage for every unique Trickstar in my graveyard and I have Trickstar Bloom and Trickstar Narkissus."

Bella Monnda fired a wave blast which struck Specter. (Specter: 3600/Hand: 3) And since Specter's Sunavalon Zones are full he can't use Dryades to counter.

'So there is a limit to his healing.' Blue Angel noted. "Alright, I hate to do this to my own monster but this duel is over! I attack Trickstar Holly Angel with Trickstar Bella Madonna, and I use the effect of Trickstar Corobane in my hand. By discarding her my Bella Madonna's attack points increase by her original attack points for a total of 5600, just enough to finish off your life points!"

"Scimitar Stream!"

At SOL Technologies...

Akira along with Risa were working outside the battle to handle the Knights of Hanoi.

"She beat him, Blue Angel won." Risa smiled seeing that. "Which means the Hanoi are just about finished right Akira sir?"

Akira watches as Bella Modanna charged in only for Specter to smirk before calling, "Sorry but I activate the card you stopped the first time!"

It was revealed to be Dimension Wall.

"Thanks to this trap card all the battle damage you would deal me is directed back to you!" Specter called.

Blue Angel's eyes widened in shock hearing that.

"Wait, but she only has 1600 life points left!" Risa panicked. "What can she do?"

"And now fare the well Blue Angel!" With that the portal opened where as Bella Modanna slashed down Holly Angel the damage was blown to a big shockwave at Blue Angel.

She tried to brace herself only for the force of the shockwave to send her flying back as she landed on the ground in defeat.

"SKYE!" Akira cried horrified as Specter laughed manically as Blue Angel vanished into data before he growled before telling Risa, "Risa your in charge! I'm off to join the battle!" With that he stomped off.

"Mr. Zaizen sir!" she cried seeing that before turning to the screen nervously as she saw Specter's crazed smirk.

Meanwhile in Link VRAINS...

Playmaker, and Nyx kept flying before Nyx froze which her brother noticed, "Nyx? Is something wrong?"

"I just had a really bad feeling." she admitted before shuddering. "It must be the idea of seeing her again."

Playmaker nodded flying arriving to where Specter, and Blue Angel dueled only to see Specter by his lonesome on the top of one of the buildings smirking at them as if he was waiting.

"Looks like we were expected." he noted as they landed on the building.

"Well well we meet at last Playmaker, and Nyx." Specter grinned to the two.

"So who are you?" Playmaker asked him.

Specter bowed at this answering, "My name is Specter, the second-in-command of the Knights of Hanoi. You two were late when we started our Tower of Hanoi. Might I ask what made you two take your time?"

"That ain't any of your business!" Ai yelled at him at this.

"I'd suppose that's true." Specter shrugged at this before saying, "But whatever the case, you two have tested our hand here with the Tower of Hanoi."

"The Tower of Hanoi." Playmaker repeated looking to see the massive tower. "So that's where they are? Varis and Rosaly?"

"Not quite, their off dueling with Gore, and Ghost Gal at the moment. Emperor, the leader figure in SOL is off finding me, or Varis, and Rosaly." Specter answered to them.

"Ghost Gal?" Nyx asked recalling how the Female Ignis defeated her. "Playmaker I'm going to help her!"

Playmaker turned to her before Specter told her, "Sorry but you should have your own worries if it concerns your best friend, Nyx."

She froze at that before turning back to him. "What?"

"That's right, I know about you, and Blue Angel's relationship, Nyx." Specter smirked to her before lifting a finger showing a rotating glowing card that has Blue Angel in a blue lined design on it, "Me, and her had just finished our duel, and I defeated her."

Nyx's eyes widened before she glared at him. "What did you do to her?"

"She's now Data in the Tower of Hanoi. You want her back your gonna have to defeat me." Specter smirked as the card vanished from his hand, "So what say you? Would you fight someone who's equal to your brother in more ways then you know?"

Playmaker's eyes widened hearing that only for Nyx to glare at him and move to activate her Duel Disk.

"Stop!"

Hearing that they turned to find Akira had just logged in nearby looking pissed off.

"Zaizen, you're out of your league against the Hanoi." Playmaker told him.

"This is family business you two." Akira stated stepping in front of the two before turning to them, "Leave him to me, you both need to save your strength against Varis, and Rosaly."

'I don't need to win... All I can do is hope to make sure he doesn't get to them even if I drag him down with me.' Akira thought before telling Playmaker, and Nyx, "If you both see Emperor make sure you tell him, I'm fighting to the last. Now go now, let me do this!"

Playmaker met his eyes before nodding. "Nyx, this is his battle. I know you want to get payback for Blue Angel but right now we need to stop Varis and Rosaly."

Nyx looked at him shocked before grunting nodding as they turned to Akira before Playmaker tells him, "Fight well." With that the two flew off in their Duel Boards as Akira stared before turning to Specter who has a smirk.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Ai asked as Playmaker and Nyx split up to try and find Varis and Rosaly.

"To be honest Ai, I'm not." Playmaker answered. "But we know how dangerous Varis and Rosaly can be... the sooner we defeat them the better."

"You will pay for what you've done." Akira glared at Specter.

"Then by all means Zaizen, shall we?" Specter smirked. "I'll take the first turn, and reunite you with your sister soon enough."

Akira takes a look at his hand contemplating what to do before looking at Specter before calling, "My turn! I draw!" He drew looking before calling, "I place 1 monster down!" A set monster appeared before he added, "Then, I activate the Continuous Spell, Stairs of Mail!"

Specter's eyes widened seeing that. "That's quite the power boost."

"In addition as Trinity was used to Link Summon, I add the Trap Card, Gergonne's End to my hand!" Akira added showing the trap card.

"I see, then what are you planning on doing with that trap?" Specter inquired calmly.

"You'll find out later! For now Acute Cerberus attack!" The heads opened shooting their attack at Specter.

The blast hit Specter directly as he grunted.

"I activate Sunavalon Dryanome's special ability, when I take damage I can not only recover all the damage I took but I can also summon a Sunvine Monster from my Extra Deck, specifically my Sunvine Healer!" Specter revealed as one of Dryanome's seeds fell before blooming into a plant girl in a pink dress.

"Of course, I summoned Daphne to use as the sacrifice for Sunavalon Dryatrentiay's ability. By sending her to the graveyard I can destroy two of your cards, and I think the perfect choices are your facedown and Gergonne's End!"

Akira's eyes widen as Dryatrentiay's vines charged forward at Akira's two cards only for Akira to call, "Not so fast, I activate Emergency Provisions!"

Thrasher charged in slashing down Acute Cerberus destroying it while Akira stepped back. (Akira: 4500/Hand: 2)

"Now, the special ability of my Sunvine Thrasher summons your Tindangle Acute Cerberus to my field." Specter told Akira as his monster appeared looking confused. "That will end my turn."

"Strengthening your defenses won't help you Zaizen, this duel is as good as over." Specter smirked.

"Maybe not which is why I gotta get offensive! Appear again our circuit that guides us!" Akira called as the circuit appeared again before Trinity, Angel, and Gardna all flew up entering the three arrows, "I Link Summon! Be reborn, Link 3, Tindangle Acute Cerberus!"

The gate appeared before shooting out forming into a second Acute Cerberus roaring.

Tindangle Acute Cerberus: (Attack Position/Extra Monster Zone)

"Acute Cerberus' effect! It gains 3000 attack points if their are 3 or more unique Tindangles in my graveyard including Base Gardna!" Acute Cerberus roared more at the power.

"In addition for every Tindangle linked to it to gains 500 more!" Akira added with Acute Cerberus pointing at the Token, and Protector.

"Your monster's attack points are the same as my Sunvine Thrasher." Specter noted before chuckling. "Of course, that's not your plan is it?"

'I can attack my first Acute Cerberus with my new one but that looks to easy...' Akira thought of looking at the field, "I activate the effect of Trinity! I add a second Gergonne's End to my hand!" He adds the card before calling, "Then, I'll activate the Field Spell, Euler's Circuit!"

From there a spell went around Specter as he looked around as some sort of seal built around the ground below him.

"What are you planning?" Specter inquired seeing that.

"As long as there are 3 or more Tindangles on my field, you cannot attack!" Akira answered him, "And during my Standby Phase, I move 1 Tindangle on my field to your side."

Specter's eyes widened slightly hearing that.

"I place 1 card down, and end my turn." Akira ends his turn, 'One more turn, is all I ask for... If I survive this turn, this duel is over.'

"Not quite, during your end phase I activate the second effect of my Sunvine Shrine. By sending this face-up card to my graveyard I'm allowed to set one continuous trap in my graveyard to my field." Specter stated calmly.

Shrine vanished as a card was set on his field at this.

Specter drew his card and smirked. "First things first, I use Sunavalon Dryatrentiay's special ability sacrificing your Tindangle Acute Cerberus to destroy your facedown card, Stairs of Mail, and Euler's Circuit!"

The first vanished as all three of Akira's spells/traps shattered at this leaving Akira with only monsters while the seal from Euler's Circuit vanished below Specter.

"With that done, I'll summon a second copy of a monster you should know very well, my Sunseed Genius Loci." Specter continued as his normal monster appeared. "And now, I'll use this monster to link summon another copy of my Sunvine Thrasher!"

A second Sunvine Thrasher rose up next to the first one.

Sunvine Thrasher: (ATK: 800 + (800 * 4) = 4000)

'What's he up to?' Akira thought seeing this since Thrasher wouldn't deal him damage. That was before he widen his eyes turning to Specter's face-down, 'That set card he used from Shrine that must be his plan!'

"I activate the final card of this duel, Sunavalon Bloom!" Specter called as his trap revealed itself.

Shocked Akira watched as Acute Cerberus roared weakening.

"Now you and your sister will be reunited." Specter smirked. "Sunavalon Dryatrentiay attack Tindangle Acute Cerberus!"

Dryatrentiay charged her vines forward which Akira blinked seeing the Link 4's attack points are not strong enough to win the match.

"Confused, then allow me to clarify. You see Zaizen my trap has one other effect." Specter told him. "Once per turn if a Plant type Link Monster battles it gains the attack points of every monster it currently points to and that would be both of my 4000 attack point Sunvine Thrashers."

Sunavalon Dryatrentiay: (ATK: 0 + 4000 + 4000 = 8000)

Akira closed his eyes before saying, "Then allow me to tell you something Specter."

"Oh?" Specter inquired hearing that.

"When I am fighting you, I know I am not strong enough to defeat you. But the least I can do..." he looked at Specter, "Is to take you down with me."

"Pardon?" Specter questioned hearing that.

Akira at this called, "I activate the effect of Tindangle Archfiend in my hand!" He discard it as he called, "By sending this card from my hand to the graveyard, when you attack any damage, I would taken instead becomes damage we will both take! Plus if the monster your attacking is a Link Monster, we both take an additional 300 for each Link Marker that monster has!"

"Does that target my link monster?" Specter asked.

"Mine." Akira answered.

Specter's eyes widened as the effect of Tindangle Archfiend activated and they both cried out.

Akira defeated kneeled down grunting before looking at Specter who was down at the ground on his back. Specter frowned as he looked up at his Mother Tree. 'Master Varis, mistress Rosaly... the rest is up to you two.'

With that he vanished.

'Emperor... Playmaker... Nyx... the rest is up to you.' Akira thought closing his eyes vanishing.

Ulrich362: True, although Akira's Tindangle Archfiend card was something that caught Specter off guard with its devastatingly powerful ability. That said, there's only two more opponent's left and at least one of them will be easier to defeat than the other.
