Ulrich362: Exactly, Playmaker and Nyx managed to win once but it was incredibly close and there's no way to knowing how those duels will go this time. Only one way to find out though, enjoy the chapter.

Cal was frowning as he watched Yusaku and Lilly prepare to take on Rosaly and Varis again only to suddenly hear someone knocking on the door to his food truck. Curious Cal opened the door looking to see. It was Yuya, Zuzu, and the rest of the lancers and the allies they made during the Dimensional War.
"Sorry it took so long, getting everyone filled in took longer than we thought it would." Yuto apologized. "What's going on?"
"Just four people left. Yusaku, and Lilly are all that's left fighting the Hanoi who is only Varis, and Rosaly." Cal answered.
"I see." Declan frowned.
"None of us can get into Link Vrains without the code in Yusaku's Duel Disk either." frowned a blonde woman with pink eyes. "So we came all this way to just watch from the sidelines?"
"Just for now Gloria, the real enemy is SOL Technologies themselves." Celina answered.
"I wonder what they're doing right now." mentioned a silver-haired young man.
"Come in, their just about to start." Cal told them mentioning them in.
Nodding at that they got in as Cal realized just how crowded it was with so many people in his food truck.
"On second thought, some of you get out, and I'll open the window." Cal said feeling cramped.
"Probably a good idea." mentioned an orange haired-young man.
After exiting Cal opened his Truck's window turning the screens on fullscreen.
"Be careful you two." mentioned a blue-haired young man as he took out a small piece of candy.
Back at Link VRAINS...
Rosaly, and Nyx stared before Varis told Playmaker, "While Rosaly handles your sister here, let us ride to the top of the tower for our own showdown Playmaker!" He readied his Duel Board flying to the Tower of Hanoi's core. Playmaker frowned before meeting his sister's eye as she nodded and he raced up after Varis leaving Nyx and Rosaly at the base of the tower.
With their brother's gone to settle their own score, Rosaly turned to Nyx, "Well now Nyx, it's time for us to finish this once and for all. And right now, I hope your ready cause unlike last time, it's not gonna be the same."
"To be honest, the idea of dueling you still terrifies me." Nyx admitted.
"So why are you still going with it instead of backing out?" Rosaly asked her.
"Of course I am." Nyx answered activating her Duel Disk.
"I'm asking you why." Rosaly said in annoyance.
"You should know why." Nyx answered.
"Well no point talking anymore about this. Let's settle this, and by the end I'll be getting one Ignis for the Hanoi." Rosaly said activating her Duel Disk.
"DUEL!" Nyx and Rosaly called together.

"Along with the Count, he has a queen who has an equal lust for blood to sustain her beauty! She appears now to spread her beauty to mortalkind! Xyz Summon! Rank 8, The Zombie Vampire!"
What lowered was a female Vampire mistress with 4 bat wings wearing a medevil black dress shaped as armor with a black crown, and a several arms with two holding long black lances.

"I activate the Zombie Vampire's special ability! By using an Overlay Unit, we send the top four cards of our Decks to the graveyard!" The Vampire takes the unit. (ORU: 2 - 1)
The two of them sent the cards to the graveyard.
"Then if their are any monsters with it, I get to summon one of them." Rosaly told her.
Nyx frowned. "I sent three monsters."
She revealed Shaddoll Hedgehog, Shaddoll Dragon, and Qadshaddoll Keios

Rosaly's spell shattered before she tells Nyx, "I had sent two."
She shows the discarded cards which were Vampire Recruiter, Vampire Lord, Return of the Zombies, and Call of the Mummy. Nyx frowned. "You get to summon one of my monsters now right?"
"Actually I'll pick one of mine."
Retainer appeared growling.

"King sir, it seems Nyx is going to lose as well. The Knights of Hanoi... they're going to succeed in whatever it they're planning." an employee mentioned nervously.
"Don't think so quickly. On the outside Nyx may seem weak but she always pulls something off out of danger." King instructed the employee, "Remember she doesn't earn the title 'Third Charisma Duelist' for nothing."
"Even so, her Grysta's attack points are only 2450 and her field spell only lowers that Hanoi's Xyz Monster to 2500." another employee mentioned. "Unless she has some kind of miracle on top of her deck this duel can only end in her defeat."
"So don't already think of the outcome." King stated simply, "In dueling, always expect the unexpected."
Back at the duel...
"Now battle!" Rosaly called finally done, "Zombie Vampire go! Strike down Grysta!"
The Vampire screeched charging it moving to impale with it's two lances. Nyx cried out as her only monster was destroyed.

Her graveyard glowed at this upon Grysta's destruction. After taking a moment to calm her breathing Nyx took a card. "When El Shaddoll Grysta is destroyed I can add a Shaddoll Spell or trap from my graveyard to my hand and I pick the trap Shaddoll Schism."
"Well hope it assist you here. For now Retainer attack her directly!"
Retainer growled charged in at Nyx. Nyx cried out as the attack knocked her off her feet.

"Fine I'll give you that." Rosaly glared before saying, "But I still got cards to play. Polymerization!"

Rosaly only quickly moved as the shockwave struck them both while Rosaly deactivated her Duel Disk. Nyx had her eyes closed before opening slowly confused seeing the duel vanished. She looked around in confusion before logging out.

Varis, and Playmaker flew up where a field appeared in front of them in the Tower of Hanoi's debris ring.
"Playmaker beat you once, and he'll beat you again!" Ai told Varis.

"Playmaker!" Ai cried in horror seeing that.

Flash Charge Dragon fired from it's three cannons striking Playmaker directly who kneeled. (Playmaker: 0200/Hand: 0)
Ai just slumped down in defeat. "No... this isn't real."
"Well now Playmaker, what are you gonna do now?" Varis smirked to him.

Playmaker 3rd Turn:
Despite the odds against him Playmaker isn't going to let Varis walk over him like that. His only chance of getting back at the Hanoi from his childhood is right there, and he's not going to let it slip by. So he stood up drawing, "Draw!" He looked at his drawn card.
Ai frowned. Looking at this he turned to the Data Storm that was running at the core, and take a breath charging to it which surprised both Varis, and Ai cause from the looks of the Data Storm it looked too chaotic to even try getting a card from there.
"Have you lost your mind Playmaker?" Varis questioned.
"Playmaker this Data Storm's density is too high!" Ai cried to him.
"Which means there should be something incredibly strong in this Data Storm one that could give us a chance!" Playmaker argued to him before plunging his arm in before crying out from the strong winds against it before endures it to use the Skill, "NEO STORM ACCESS!"

Playmaker stayed for a bit while struggling through despite his arm going through the most severe agony he ever felt. Soon much to Varis, and Ai's shock a silhouette of a dragon materialized flying to Playmaker's hand roaring into a card he grunted pulling the card out showing the Skill was successful.
"Impossible!" Varis cried in shock.
Taking a look at the card he nodded before calling, "To start, I activate Cynet Robe!"

"This duel is as good as over." Ai grinned.

Transcode Talker fired from it's rifle at Varis. This isn't over by a long shot on Varis' mind however, "I activate Kuriboh's effect in my hand!" Kuriboh appeared taking the attack destroying which Varis braced himself before he called, "Battle damage to me one time is zero!"
Playmaker grunted before calling, "Cyberse Wicckid!" Wicckid attacked Varis. (Varis: 0200/Hand: 0)
"Oh no!" Ai panicked seeing that.
"You couldn't defeat me Playmaker." Varis smirked to him.
"Maybe not but you don't got anything left!" Playmaker reminded.

Varis stared at his hand, 'With father's advanced programming, I should be able to control the Data Storms no matter how high...' Looking at the Storm he flew over to it.
Ai's eyes widened. "No way... Playmaker is he about to... Stop him!"
Playmaker didn't move watching what Varis is about to do.
Varis reached only to be met with resistance. This lets him know that this Data Storm is probably the strongest he ever encountered which also meant it is extremely powerful.
"This Data Storm's density is too high..." Varis muttered to himself before calling, "But if Playmaker can do it so can I!"
He plunged his hand in crying out as he struggled but got pushed back unable to complete the skill.
"He failed." Ai whispered.
Clutching his data shredded arm Varis growled, "I can't afford to lose!" He moved to the Data Storm to try again.
"Is he nuts, if he tries again his avatar will be completely destroyed." Ai pointed out.
Before Varis is about to move in again everything froze in place surprising the three as they looked over wondering what's going on. Suddenly a holographic version of Dr. Kogami appeared shocking all who are seeing this before Varis asked shocked, "Father? Why are you here?"
"Ryoken... I never did a single fatherly thing for you, or Sachiko. I only made you two suffer." Dr. Kogami said looking down, "But you two never complained. Not even once. You were a great son, and daughter. Believe me, I never wanted to involve you two in this. But without you two, the world couldn't be saved from destruction."
"I know..." Varis replied to him.
"You both can't lose here. I'll give you both my final strength." Dr. Kogami told Varis shocking him.
"Final strength? But if you do that..." Varis trailed off in horror.
What this is referring too was that Dr. Kogami would basically die if he gives him, and Rosaly the last of his data which can't be reversed. It would also mean that Varis, and Rosaly together would lose someone important to them for the rest of the time their fighting the Ignis.
"I don't care." Dr. Kogami said simply to his son, "Protect humanity's future in my place. You, and your sister are my final and only hope. Take care of your sister for me."
With that he turned to light absorbed in Varis who looked over himself in shock as his arm was restored to normal, "This is..." Turning over after noticing something he sees a path which made him gasp "This radiance is..."
Soon time unfrozen catching Playmaker off-guard trying to avoid with Varis staring off at the path that was formed.
"What... what is that?" Ai questioned.
'Father...' Varis thought before looking determined riding from the path reaching his hand as his robe's linings glow, "I activate my Skill! When I have 1000 or less Life Points, I can add 1 monster from the Data Storm to my Extra Deck! The new breath resides in my hand! Come Neo Storm Access!"
At that once the card appeared in his hand he burst out of the Data Storm behind Playmaker before a holographic screen of a heart monitor appeared on his Duel Disk which only Varis can view watching.
"He succeeded..." Ai trailed off in shock.
"The Stardust Road led me to it." Varis said to himself.
It did not go un-noticed by Playmaker who blinked, "Stardust Road...?"
"I summon Hibernation Dragon!" Varis called as a dragon popped up.

"When this card is summoned, I take Gateway Dragon back to my hand!" Varis called taking the card. But before he can do anything else hearing something he looked at the heart monitor, and widen his eyes in horror seeing a line before telling to Playmaker, "I'm sorry, but I can't continue this duel!"
"What?" Playmaker questioned.
"Trap activate, Destruction Ring!" Varis called using the trap from before.

"What?" Ai questioned. "Playmaker tell me you can stop that trap!"
Playmaker only grunted, "I can't..."

Back at the real world...
Yusaku stumbled out of his pod coughing collapsing on all fours. At the same time Lilly emerged from hers looking really confused before her eyes widened. "Everyone?"
"You two alright?" Cal asked them worried, "When the feeds got cut off we don't know what happened!"
"I... had to use that trap to get a draw but... Rosaly vanished. She was acting weird though." Lilly answered while Cal helped Yusaku to his feet.
"You okay Yusaku?" Yuya asked him concerned.
"I think so... Varis pulled out Destruction Ring at the last second. It looked like he was trying to end the match as quick as he can." Yusaku answered rubbing his head before mentioning, "But he mentioned something called... the Stardust Road."
"Stardust Road?" Rin asked. "What's that?"
"I heard about that..." Cal remembered giving thought. He then explained to them, "It is something from the sea nearby that where plankton, and algae gather for a event showing a shiny road when the moon lights up. I never seen it in person myself but it's suppose to be real amazing to see."
"It sounds incredible." Zuzu admitted.
"Why would Varis mention something like that though?" Yugo asked confused.
At this Yuri suggested, "Perhaps..." they looked to him before he asked, "Perhaps he happens to live nearby where this 'Stardust Road' is?"
"It's worth looking at least." Declan noted calmly.
"Cal do you know where this Stardust Road is?" Yusaku asked him.
"Yeah just nearby. And there is a big house like a palace that views it overseas." Cal answered.
"Then that's where they are." Celina mentioned. "Let's get going."
Nodding, and after getting a bus that You Show uses they follow Cal's truck over eventually arriving at sunset where they see a large wooden framed house with glass windows was at.
Ulrich362: Two DRAWS, and now Yusaku and the others have arrived at what should be the Kogami household. Varis and Rosaly... no, Ryoken and Sachiko are waiting inside.

Ulrich362: True... apologies for the less than adequate duel between Playmaker and Varis when compared to the original Legacy of Fusion... hopefully a tiny detail next chapter will make up for it.
