Declan arrived in Link VRAINS only his appearance resembled a demonic figure wearing a business suit using the name D/D Executive as he looked around. "I know you're here Roget, so why don't you come out of hiding?"
"Well well Declan Akaba. It's been a while." Roget's voice was heard before the area started to morph around D/D Executive before it transformed into a room. "Remember this place?"
He can see the area formed into the same room where Declan battled against Roget.
"So we're dueling here again. Does that mean you'll be using your 'Immortality' as well?" D/D Executive inquired.
Roget appeared with a smirk. "Regrettably even if my brain has merged with Link VRAINS even I can't shape my immortality with me. However now with the Core of Link VRAINS severed from this server, I am now capable of many things in it's place."
D/D Executive frowned. "I see, well unlike our last duel you've run out of places to run away."\
"Please, I'm not a coward anyone like I once was. And this will end differently as the second best Deck SOL's little contest made is the best under Tentaclusters." Roget smirked to D/D Executive.
"Then by all means show me what this deck is capable of, though I warn you my skills have increased as well." D/D Executive mentioned activating his Duel Disk.

I wondered what it was I was missing to become the ruler of the Synchro Dimension. That's when I had realized that the very thing you have that stopped me. The Power of Pendulum! And as luck would have it SOL Technologies acknowledges Pendulum to while it's weaker now, the second best Deck uses it in a new way!"
D/D Executive's eyes widened slightly hearing that.
"Instead of telling you how bout I show?" Roget takes two cards revealing them, "I set Scale 1 Mechaleon, and Scale 9 Princessleon to set the Pendulum Scale!"
He sets the cards in his furthest Spell/Trap Zones as on his left was a brown chameleon while on his left has a pink, and white chameleon as a female raising up.

"Arcane swirl that takes in all forms! Engulf the grotesque God. Be reborn into a new king! Fusion Summon! Come forth, ruler who carries the glory of God! D/D/D Oracle King d'Arc!"

D/D Executive looked over seeing Roget smirking with electricity dancing on his body with his suit semi-glowing. "It's a little trick I picked up ever since the Speed Duels appeared. An ability known as a Skill. Decree of God, allows me to pay 1000 Life Points to end the Battle Phase if you have more monsters then I do!"

Everyone else had an opposite reaction towards what they just saw. From what they experienced or seen in Link VRAINS, Skills can only be used in Speed Duels, and are them only but Roget just used a Skill in a Master Duel!
"It's possible to use a Skill in a Master Duel?" Emma asked shocked.
"That guy just cheated!" Misaki argued with a glare. "He's willing to stoop that low to get what he wants!?"
"You heard him though, with the core of Link VRAINS removed he has powers and it is Roget... I wouldn't be surprised if he has other tricks up his sleeve." Yuto frowned.
"Yeah, but he has no cards on his field or in his hand and Declan has two powerful monsters in play." Yugo pointed out. "This was just a tiny setback and he'll win next turn for sure."
They see in the screen as Roget started next.

Here I am this realm's deity, and I create new codes allowing me to do what I want." Roget smirked as he added the cards to his hands. "One of these new powers in question is for me to create a system I call 'Skill Selection'. What it does is once per turn, I select 1 Skill Available, and I can use it during either our turns. Of course these Skills can only be used once during a duel but just one time is plenty." He then scowled, "Of course due to the Knights of Hanoi most of it's potential waned by it's no matter once I defeat you Lancers once, and for all, I can then expand the horizons, and take control of both this, and the new Link VRAINS in development to become God not only to the Virtual Network but to the real world as well!"
He laughed manically at that. D/D Executive frowned hearing that. Seeing this Sota clenched his trembling hands together which Misaki, Emma, Kenneth, and Akira noticed, "Is that... that who father will shape me into?"
"No, we won't let him do that to you." Misaki answered taking one of his hands as Emma took the other one.
"She's right, he's a madman. You're an incredible and strong person who's going to lead SOL Technologies to a bright future... once your father is stopped." she whispered.
Sota looked towards them hearing that. Akira, Emma, and Misaki were all smiling and even Kenneth just gave an approving nod which Sota could tell meant just as much despite his rough appearance. Sota smiled at this before they turned back to the screen.
D/D Executive frowned staring at Roget.
"Now for my turn, I use the Continuous Spell, Reverse Scale Engineering!" Roget added using a spell as it glowed.

"The Chameleons take two of the greatest drawbacks in the game: Self Mill, and Paying LP. The less LP, and cards Roget has in his Deck the more powerful his cards will gain." Sota explained to them. "One weakness is for most of his cards to work is to include a Normal Reptile Monster when they mill, and requires to have enough Life Points to use. He also has card effects that can activate in the graveyard allowing Roget to exploit the Self Mill function the Chameleons have to offer. He can't get rid of the field spell either cause he would have a big threat if he goes after it."
Yuya frowned hearing that. They looked back other as Roget then added, "With that I end my turn."

Sota nodded at this, "Well he got rid of the spell at the time Skill Selection was already used but he needs to work fast cause it won't be long for Roget to get it back."
"What?" Lulu asked confused.
"To make up for the costs on Self Mill, the Chameleons encourage the use of making it a 60 card Deck rather a 40 card Deck." Sota explained over to them. "It also means Roget also include other copies should one get taken down so Declan needs to beat him before he can get another on the field."
"When another D/D/D monster leaves the field due to the effect of a spell card, D/D/D/D Super-Dimensional Sovereign Emperor Zero Paradox's attack points become 6000." D/D Executive revealed as his newest monster powered up huge.

"Your life points are only 3000 thanks to your Decree of God Skill you used earlier, and right now Clawleon only possesses 1400 attack points. Zero Paradox, destroy Clawleon and end this duel."
Zero Paradox charged in which Roget smirked, "You couldn't be anymore ignorant... I activate the effect of the trap card you destroyed earlier! Warning Scale Phosphorescence!"
The trap emerged from the graveyard as it shot energy trapping Zero Paradox.
Zero Paradox: (ATK: 6000 - 1000 = 5000)
"What?" D/D Executive questioned.
"When you attack a Reptile on my field while this card is in the graveyard, I can banish it from the graveyard to negate your attack, and force your monster to lose 1000 attack points." Roget smirked over to D/D Executive.
D/D Executive frowned hearing that.
Outside...
"What the hell?" Yugo snapped turning to Sota. "First, how did that lose to the Tentacluster cards, and second what the hell can anyone do to beat him now? He can use any skill every single turn and that deck is already way too strong!"
"Well the Chameleons do have some weaknesses that made it lose to the Tentaclusters." Sota said to him turning over. "Most of his cards resolve around paying LP or needing a Normal Reptile Monster to use so if Roget doesn't have enough LP he can't use the effects of his cards, and he will miss on getting a Normal Reptile Monster from time to time. And not only that if things are waited out his Deck will get low enough to where he will be forced to Deck out. What made Tentaclusters win against it although barely is that they use there effect damage function against the Chameleons as they pay Life Points, and can stop the devastating attacks they have, and they don't focus on attacking, or level 7 or higher monsters which what there cards revolve around."
He then walked over before saying, "But that Skill Selection is a real problem... But I think, I now know what to do." He turned over, "Akira, Emma, mind helping me out you two? I can't set the counter without some aid."
The two of them nodded at that.
"We will set our own end too." Alec, Genome, and Clarissa set up another laptop readying up.
"Good thing too cause I have a secret weapon." Emma pulls out a flashdrive showing everyone with a grin.
"What kind of secret weapon?" Rin asked her curiously.
"Call it a Virus Bomb. I keep this handy in case of out of the box threats. Once this detonates on a great source of codes it will infect the entire section, and render it unfixable." Emma grinned over to them.
Sota's eyes widened before frowning. "Then... do it."
"Let's work fast, and make sure Roget doesn't notice. We will take a two tier attack against this source of coding." Alec said over to them. "Once our attack is successful detonate the Virus Bomb."
They nodded typing in codes hacking ahead with Akira, and Sota passing by SOL Technologies security before Sota tells one of them, "One of you inform Declan to try to keep Roget busy. We can't have Roget finding out or he will set powerful firewalls."
"I'm not sure we can, I have a bad feeling." Yuya mentioned.
Kenneth walked over as they watched as he grabbed a microphone, "Declan." D/D Executive blinked on the screen which he stated, "Don't respond he will notice. Listen Sota, Akira, Emma, and the Knights of Hanoi are deploying an attack on Skill Selection for Emma's Virus Bomb to detonate. Try to buy as much time as you possibly can against Roget, and keep his attention away from the ability for them to attack it."
"You managed to stop me for one turn, but you don't have a card that can defeat my Zero Paradox so I'll end my turn for now." D/D Executive told Roget calmly.
"Oh please, it is inevitable for you to be defeated in my hands." Roget smirked to him. "During this end phase, the power boost from Berserker Scale Colosseum ends."
Sickleon: (ATK: 3000 - 2000 = 1000)
"Good Declan has him distracted." Sota nodded before looking over to them, "Let's work quick."
They nodded typing in keys while Emma readies the Virus Bomb for her own part.

"It's my turn again! Draw!" Roget drew looking before calling, "And during this Standby Phase, I activate Sickleon's Special Ability!" Sickleon glowed as Roget glowed red. (Roget: 2700/Hand: 1) "By paying 300 Life Points, I take my top three cards, and send them to the graveyard! And if one of the cards happens to be a Reptile Normal Monster, I can take 1 Reptile Normal Monster from my graveyard to my hand!"
He checks his top three cards, and sent them to his graveyard but didn't move to take a card.
"It seems you missed, even with all your Skills you can't control the order of the cards in your deck." D/D Executive noted calmly.
"Perhaps not but I can do this." Sickleon vanished as he placed a card, "I sacrificed Sickleon to Tribute Summon, Metal Megaleon!"
At that what rose in Sickleon's place was a second Metal Megaleon.
Metal Megaleon: (Attack Position)
"And I use it's special ability." Roget glowed more at this. (Roget: 2100/Hand: 0) "By paying 600 Life Points, as my Life Points are lower, I send another of my top 3 cards to the graveyard, and in exchange if I send a Reptile Normal Monster, Metal Megaleon gains 600 attack points but can summon another Reptile from my graveyard in Attack Position!"
D/D Executive frowned hearing that. "You're taking a large risk."
"What's life without taking risks?" Roget sends his top 3 cards checking, and smirked, "I sent Alien Shocktrooper! So now I summon Unknown Flyleon!"

D/D Executive flinched seeing that. 'I could survive if this were a Speed Duel, and in fact it could turn this entire duel around... unfortunately I can't do anything to stop this attack.' "Only 100 life points, that's quite the risk you're taking."
Back outside Clarissa called to them, "Okay we're done on our end! Our attack is placed up!"
"Just as ours too!" Akira called before turning to Emma, "Is the Virus Bomb ready to be detonated?"
"Just say the word, and it'll get rid of Skill Selection!" Emma winked with a grin.
"Well last thing to do now is wait for Roget to activate Skill Selection. That's where it's weakest at." Sota said over to them. "This is a one time chance, we have to time this right. If we fail then we can't get an advantage like this again."
They all nodded at this before Sota pressed a key.
Back at the duel D/D Executive received a notification on his Duel Disk. He didn't acknowledge it to keep Roget from seeing as he watched him calmly.
"And now Declan it's time for the countdown of your defeat." Roget smirked before raising an arm staring up at Unknown Flyleon, "Now Unknown Flyleon attack Zero Paradox!"
The moment he looked away D/D Executive quickly looked where Sota tells him, he can use his Skill against Roget.
His eyes widened seeing that before frowning. "Normally I wouldn't resort to the same underhanded tactics as you by using a Skill in a Master Duel... however considering you're currently the God of Link VRAINS I can make an exception. I use my Skill D/D Restructuring!"

"What?" Roget blinked seeing this as Unknown Flyleon paused it's attack seeing this.

"This skill allows my monsters to gain 1000 points, and stops the abilities of one monster on your field." Roget smirked as his suit glowed while his monsters glowed to power up.
D/D Executive's eyes widened hearing that as he realized he just lost and was about to die.
Back outside...
"Alright he's using it! Deploying attack now!" Genome pressed a key.
"Deploying attack now!" Akira pressed a key too deploying both attacks breaking passed Skill Selection's defenses.
As if sensing the attacks Roget's eyes widen surprised as Sota quickly turned over, "Okay detonate Virus Bomb!"
"Got it, detonating Virus Bomb!" Emma uploaded the flash drive, and typed a key.
At that the glow from the skill turned purple fading away as Roget widen his eyes crying out clutching his head. D/D Executive's eyes widened not expecting that to be the result of the attack. "Wait, but if they were locked out how could... of course, it only worked because the core was removed."
Roget knelled down clutching his head in agony before he then screamed loud, "SOTA TARUMAKI!"
At the same time...
Steve and Sachiko had decided to head back early and were driving back to Den City only to stop at a red light.
"Sachiko? Would you mind if I did something a bit cliché?" Steve inquired.
"Yes?" Sachiko turned over to him curiously.
He smiled taking a single rose from her bouquet and placing it in her hair. "As lovely as I thought it would be."
Sachiko smiled before she giggled. "Oh darling, I think your too much for me. I don't know if I truly deserve you."
Steve smiled kissing her gently. "Of course you do, you're an amazing young woman who I love."
Sachiko chuckled a bit more at this. "Oh you..." She then gave some thought. "Actually did we tell Ryoken about this?"
"Now that I think about, I don't think we have." Steve admitted as the light turned green and he went back to driving. "Are you suggesting I ask for his blessing?"
"Well he would fight me to the death for him to say no." Sachiko chuckled playfully at that.
Specter smiled at that.
Back at the duel...
Roget slowly stood up seething, "Sota Tarumaki! Of course he figured out my defenses weakened from the Core of Link VRAINS being removed, and planned that attack on Skill Selection! Damn him! Damn it all!" He clenched his fists tight at this. "He's gonna pay for this! Starting with you Declan Akaba!"
Turning his attention back on the duel in his rage he called, "Unknown Flyleon eliminate that monster!"
His attacking monster continued the charge against Laplace.
"D/D/D Destiny King Zero Laplace's ability activates, when this monster battles its attack becomes double the original attack of your monster." D/D Executive revealed.
D/D/D Destiny King Zero Laplace: (ATK: ? + (2 * 2300) = 4600)
"What!?"
Laplace retaliated blasting Unknown Flyleon obliterating it as Roget stared in shock before being blasted crying out.

D/D Executive wins!
D/D Executive frowned at that before closing his eyes as he logged out.
"So, now Link VRAINS will reboot without Roget's influence?" he inquired to Sota.
"Not yet as long as Roget exists it won't be. But we have him here!" Sota answered nodding to the Knights who nodded, and activated a program.
They see in Link VRAINS the weakened Roget was impaled by black spikes from below making him cry out as he started to be deleted from the spike's virus before being erased ending his threat for good. With him gone Link VRAINS turned black as Sota sighed, "He's gone... Now the Inner Circle will pick up the pieces, and start anew again like how Avida done before."
"Avida?" Yuya asked. "Who's Avida?"
Sota turned over at that. "Avida, Rebuilder of Worlds. One of the three Star Gods created by the Inner Circle to rebuild Link VRAINS to start anew."
Everyone looked shocked at that only for Clarissa to notice a message on her Duel Disk. She checked over at this.
"Queen and the others are looking into me... I don't know if I'll be able to get you all more information about the Inner Circle. I might have to keep my head down." A friend.
She messaged back.
"Be sure to keep your head down. Roget is defeated, and they'll be keeping close attention as the new Link VRAINS is being created."
"Clarissa?" Faust asked seeing that.
"Our spy in SOL just informed me that Queen is looking into her, and said she doesn't know if she'll give me anymore info about the Inner Circle." Clarissa explained.
"Well she gave us quite a bit of information, including the weakness of the City Scan." Dr. Genome noted. "For now though, all we can do is wait for Link VRAINS to be rebuilt from the ground up, then we can deal with the Ignis and SOL Technologies."
"During which time you all should probably know about the story of Avida, and the World Legacies, and there connection to Link VRAINS." Sota explained to them. "Consider it as repayment for helping us with Roget."
"Alright, we're listening and we can tell the others when we see them." Declan nodded calmly.
Meanwhile at the Zaizen residence...
Yusaku was blushing slightly as he was sitting downstairs after asking Skye if she wanted to try a date. Soon he hears Skye walking down the stairs. Turning he looked as his eyes widened in awe. He sees Skye wearing a royal blue dress with a small smile, and blush with her Blue Angel pigtails.
"That... wow, you look incredible." Yusaku admitted blushing. "I... wow."
"Ah thanks... I wanted to look good for our first date." Skye smiled with a blush.
"It's nothing fancy, just hot dogs and sitting near a lake." Yusaku admitted before frowning. "I could see if we can get reservations somewhere a bit nicer if you want though."
"Oh no. Our first time doesn't have to be fancy, just... be ourselves." Skye said to him with a giggle.
Yusaku smiled before offering his arm. "Then shall we, my lovely angel?"
"Of course." Skye takes his arm as they walked out together.
They walked together before eventually reaching Cafe Nom only to notice someone was ahead of them in the line, someone they both recognized.
"Akira?" Skye asked surprised.
Hearing that he turned as his eyes widened. "Skye, what's going on?"
"Oh... me, and Yusaku are going on a date." Skye explained to him.
His eyes widened hearing that.
"We've been spending a lot of time together since I've been helping Skye master Fusion Summoning." Yusaku explained only to pause noticing he was holding Skye's hand as he let go quickly.
Feeling that Skye turned to him, and takes his hand again.
"Is there something I don't know?" Akira asked seeing that.
"He's just not used to this, and... he's in front of his date's brother." Skye explained to him.
"His date? Wait, you two... then when Emma and I walked in the other day... how long?" Akira asked while looking at Yusaku.
"Earlier a few hours ago." Yusaku answered.
He looked at them before slowly nodding. "I was planning on picking up something for us to eat since I won't be needed at SOL Technologies for a while but I'm guessing that isn't necessary?"
Hearing that Skye asked him, "Did the Lancers finally turn the tables?"
"Yes, Roget was deleted completely and so the Inner Circle is planning on rebuilding Link VRAINS from the ground up, with additional security measures to keep something like that from happening again." Akira answered.
"That means you can be back to being Blue Angel." Yusaku said turning to Skye.
Skye smiled before reminding him, "You mean evolve into a new Blue Angel with you by my side." She then said quietly to make sure no-one hears. "My Playmaker..."
Yusaku paused. "Actually, Playmaker is someone who's searching for answers and understanding the past. I think it's time, I started looking towards the future instead."
"So your gonna evolve too?" Skye asked hearing that.
"In a way." he nodded. "After all, Playmaker can't very well become a Charisma Duelist and stand alongside the new Blue Angel."
(A/N (Ulrich362): Yusaku doesn't know about SOL Technologies and what they did to the hospital where Ryoken and Rosaly's mother died yet.)
"Well at least his old self. But the new self will be." Skye takes his hand with a smile.
Yusaku nodded with a smile.
"Well might I err on the sign of caution?" Akira asked as they looked over before he told Yusaku, "SOL Technologies will be employing Bounty Hunters to you despite the deeds you done against the Knights of Hanoi. Nyx isn't a Bounty due to her being a Charisma Duelist but they'll placed The Shepherd, and White Tiger to you, and most of your allies. So be careful the next time you enter Link VRAINS."
"Right, well they're looking for Playmaker. Someone who won't be in Link VRAINS nearly as much anymore." Yusaku mentioned before pausing. "That aside, you don't mind if I date Skye?"
Akira stared before he nodded to him, "I seen your deeds, and acts Yusaku. You don't have to ask me for my blessing. You take good care of her."
"I will, but she's the one taking care of me." Yusaku admitted remembering how she embraced him and stayed with him when he started to cry.
Later that night...
"Your home my lovely rose." Steve smiled.
Sachiko smiled as they exit the car heading inside together, "Ryoken! We're back!"
"We're in the dining room." Ryoken called. "How was your short vacation?"
"It was amazing." Sachiko smiled as they walked in with Steve carrying the vase, "We went to the beach, got a vase, and a bouquet." Seeing Lilly, and Ryoken having just finished a duel she asked with a smile, "How about you two?"
"We've... been alright." Lilly admitted before shuddering slightly. "We... might one day be sisters though."
"Well I'm content with you being with my brother. He needs it the most after what had happened between Mom... and Dad." Sachiko looked down saying that.
"I heard, I'm so sorry." Lilly looked down before hugging her. "I'll do whatever I can to help you both."
Sachiko softly hugged her back before she pulled back, "Well... you might have Stevie here as a brother too." She gestured to Steve at this with a smile.
Ryoken's eyes widened slightly. "Steve?"
"It been a long while since I'm referred by my real name Varis... Ryoken." Steve greeted him with a soft smile. "Me, and her had done a bit of catching up after waiting this long."
Ryoken nodded with a smile. "Then, the four of us should all catch up. Dinner's almost ready and there's more than enough for all of us."
"Should we call your brother too Lilly?" Sachiko asked her.
"We tried, he wasn't home." she answered.
"He might have some private business to do." Ryoken said over hearing that before shrugging. "We will try again at a later date."
They nodded at that.
