Chapter 2: Meet the Guy
-In the next day, Retroville's time is 7:45 a.m.-
The school rang a bell to start the class during the first period. Team Neutron walked into the classroom. They sat right on the desk.
"Gina, I already met this guy's name is Royce Barnwal at the supermarket last night when you walked around the town. He was also Fijian-American when he moved here last year," Britney remarked. "He thinks you're so adorable. And he wants to greet you at the park this evening."
"Really?" Gina surprisingly asked.
"Yeah, he's in his sophomore year, but not in our school. He likes to play soccer and golf," Britney replied. "It seems he likes you."
"Ohh, okay, that's interesting," Gina clearly said. "Is he a good and nice guy?"
"Hmm, yes, he's more amiable, kindhearted, and well-mannered than Nick. Sometimes, he's a funny guy," Britney replied. "I'm sure you'll be perfectly great."
"I'll happily meet him this evening," Gina smiled.
"Of course," Britney smiled. "And have a good luck with Royce."
"Thank you," Gina smiled.
"You're welcome," Britney happily said.
-Ten and half hours later-
Gina walked to the park, where she saw Royce, who had dark-skinned, brown eyes, a black line-up haircut, and a petite goatee. Royce's body type is athletic, not too muscular. He wears clear black rectangle Acetate eyeglasses, a white polo t-shirt with the Nike logo on the left chest area, black jeans, and Men's Nike white/black sneakers. He resembled a teenage boy version of Vijay Singh (a professional golfer on the PGA Tour).
"Hello!" Gina greeted as she shook Royce's hand. "I've never seen you before."
"Hiya!" Royce greeted as he shook the Korean girl's hand back. "What's your name? I'm Royce Barnwal."
"My name is Gina Maylor," Gina replied. "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you, too, Gina," Royce smiled. "I'm single, so are you single?"
"Yes, I am," Gina replied.
"Gina, you look so beautiful and adorable lady I've seen," Royce said.
"Thank you," Gina happily said.
"No problem at all," Royce smiled.
Royce and Gina sat right on the seating of the fountain to hang out and get to know.
"My friend Britney told me something when you met her in a supermarket," Gina remarked.
"Yeah, I've been working as a backroom locator for eleven months," Royce said. "I moved here with my parents from San Francisco last year."
"My parents, brother, and I moved here from the southwest of Washington DC last several days," Gina explained. "My dad found a new job, and he loves his job all the time."
"Ah, that's fascinating," Royce clearly said. "My papa loves his job as a full-time logistics, too. He's from India, and my mama is from Fiji. You?"
"My father is an American (White), and my mother is from South Korea, so we're all U.S. citizens," Gina replied. "Were you born in San Francisco?"
"Ohh, that's our interracial parents," Royce remarked. "Yeah, I'm a U.S. citizen. And my parents, too."
"Yes, they are," Gina nodded.
"How old are you?" Royce asked. "I'm 16, and my birth date is August 19."
"My birth date is January 24, and I'm 14 years old," Gina replied. "Are you in high school as a sophomore year, right?"
"Yeah, I am in Retroville High School," Royce nodded. "This school's mascot is Falcons (red, black, and silver), so what's the grade in your school?"
"I'm in a freshman grade at Lindbergh High School," Gina answered. "The mascot is Rangers."
"Ohh, it's not so far," Royce said. "I guess our respective schools are about eight miles away."
"What are you playing sports?" Gina asked.
"I loved to play soccer and golf since I grew up, so now I'm on a varsity men's soccer team this fall season," Royce replied. "You?"
"That's great," Gina smiled. "I like playing dodgeball and tennis as a child, so I'll go to volleyball tryouts tomorrow."
"Cool, I'm happy to talk to each other with you to get to know everything." Royce smiled. "And we've been friends together."
"Yes, of course. What's your plan after graduating high school, Royce?" Gina asked.
"I'll be playing a soccer or golf team at the community college or university when I have a decision yet," Royce replied.
"Hmm, that's great," Gina smiled. "I'll probably go to the community college to play the tennis team."
"Awesome!" Royce happily said. "You'll be similar to Venus Williams, a professional tennis player. LOL!"
"Hahaha, thanks," Gina giggled as she playfully shoved Royce on the upper arm. "You're a funny guy."
"I made you laugh in a good mood," Royce grinned.
"Yes, that is," Gina said. "Do you have siblings? I have an older brother (Matt), who graduated from high school last year. Now, he's in Texas A&M University as an accounting major."
"Ohh, cool," Royce clearly said. "I don't have any siblings."
"Royce, what are your favorite foods?" Gina asked. I love Asian, Italian, and barbecue foods."
"Ah, nice. I like eating barbecue, chicken, Asian, and Mexican fajitas," Royce smiled. "You will greet my parents in one day. They're friendly and sweet, so I'm sure they probably will like you."
"Hmm, yes," Gina said, thinking. (My family and I refused to eat the live octopus dish because we could be choking. My grandfather passed away last year, that's why.)
"Do you wanna go to watch a movie named Jet Fusion at the theater with me and my parents on Saturday night?" Royce asked. "Don't worry, so my papa will pay for us."
"Yes, that sounds awesome," Gina replied. "Who's Jet Fusion? I haven't heard about him before."
"Jet Fusion is a martial skill; he beat numerous ninjas," Royce smiled. "I hope you'll like it."
"Ohh, I see," Gina smiled.
"Gina, I'm gonna show you my phone number," Royce remarked as he showed Gina his cell phone number.
"Yes, sure," Gina said. "I have added your phone number."
"Good," Royce smiled. "We'd better leave before sunset, so I'll talk more with you through a text message afterward."
"Sure, I will," Gina nodded. "I need to go to my friend's house to help with our homework."
"Okay, no problem," Royce said as he waved his hand. "Bye, Gina."
"Bye, Royce," Gina said as she waved her hand back, then walked right into her friend's house.
