It was a roughly square room in which Buck awoke, high-ceilinged and with mauve-colored walls, and what appeared to be some type of computer display and terminal mounted on a boom arm, attached to the wall opposite where he lay. As he turned his head he could see, to his left, some other kind of equipment with wiring which ran from it over to a device attached — no, wrapped around — his arm, like some high-tech version of a blood pressure cuff. Over top of him from just below his shoulders and down to what he assumed would be his knees was some type of what looked like miniature scaffolding. Oddly, he couldn't seem to move anything apart from his head and neck, and perhaps his shoulders. This was enough though to feel discomfort; a skin irritation the assessed.
In fact, this was not very far off from the truth. Buck was lying on a bed in the sickbay of the massive Draconian ship.
