"I deeply regret my actions, Logan. I should never have resorted to name-calling. And I apologize for joining in with my friends to be unkind to Tyler and Katie for two days straight," Noah admits.
Katie's response is firm. "I cannot accept your apology. Tyler likely won't either."
Logan, speaking up for himself, shares, "I've been called a nerd countless times before. People of all ages have hurled that label at me. You're what, twelve? You should know better."
Just then, Noah's parents arrive, expressing concern for their son's unexplained absence. They scold him for not communicating with them and commend him for wanting to make amends.
Katie interjects, "He's not truly sorry. Just moments ago, he called Logan a nerd."
Noah's parents look disappointed. Noah insists, "I did apologize."
His mom gently reminds him, "While apologizing is important, it wouldn't have been necessary if you had chosen kindness in the first place."
"We're out of here. Apologies for the chaos caused by Noah. Rest assured, it won't happen again," Noah's father declares.
"Dad, I was just trying to make things right by apologizing," Noah responds.
"You may have meant well, but you still managed to offend Logan and it looks like Katie isn't ready to forgive you for your words towards her, Tyler, and Logan. It's time to go," Noah's father insists.
With that, all three of them depart.
"Definitely not how I pictured this Saturday morning," Kendall laments. "I'm not in the mood for much today. How about we settle this with a video game showdown?"
"I have no interest in playing video games. I prefer to unwind and relax with BuddyBot," Logan expresses. "Unfortunately, if I show any aptitude for technology, I am immediately labeled as a nerd."
"That's not true. Don't pay attention to what Noah said. Being called a nerd doesn't have to be negative. It's not a derogatory term," Kendall counters.
"To me, it is a negative word. It's incredibly hurtful, and you know that," Logan responds.
"It's only negative to you because you perceive it that way. Being a nerd isn't a curse. You don't have to be upset about the word's existence," Kendall explains.
"You've never been called a nerd. Do you understand how it feels to be labeled as one simply for being intelligent? How people only see me as a nerd and nothing else, solely because of my high intelligence? I have more talents than just being smart, but that's not always enough for some people. Maybe it's the same for you too," Logan expresses.
"What? How can you say that, Logan? I see you as more than just an intelligent friend. You're kind, organized, thoughtful, caring, and so many other positive things," Kendall reassures.
"I just want to be alone right now," Logan sighs, heading towards their shared bedroom.
