In the luxurious confines of Apartment 2J, the boys and Katie gathered around the dinner table, engaging in a conversation that carried a hint of tension.
Observing the heated exchange between Logan and Camille earlier, Kendall couldn't help but interject with his thoughts. "My dear friend, it appears that Camille is not inclined to alter her ways. No matter how fervently you express your discontent, she remains steadfast."
Logan, still harboring a flicker of anger, dismissed the notion of their disagreement as a mere argument. "It was not a true altercation, Kendall. Rather, it was an outpouring of my frustration towards her, as she callously caused my lemonade to spill without offering an apology. Let us not dwell on this matter any longer. Tomorrow, I shall take the initiative to request a male physical therapist. This has been my plan ever since she expressed her disapproval of my current therapist being a woman."
Kendall, perplexed by Logan's decision, questioned the efficacy of such a change. "Do you genuinely believe that altering the gender of your physical therapist will bridge the divide between you and Camille?"
With a hint of uncertainty, Logan responded, "I cannot say for certain, but it will, at the very least, silence her incessant complaints about Callie."
Katie, ever the voice of reason, interjected with a touch of reproach. "Logan, my dear, it is not fair to succumb to Camille's whims. If you find solace in the care provided by Callie, there is no need to forsake her for a male therapist simply to appease your girlfriend's unfounded concerns. Camille should understand that Callie is merely fulfilling her duty to restore your physical well-being. From the way you speak of her, it is evident that Callie possesses exceptional qualities of goodness and compassion."
And so, amidst the opulent surroundings of Apartment 2J, the conversation continued, each voice offering a unique perspective on the delicate situation at hand.
"Indeed, she is, however, I am of the opinion that it would be prudent to seek the assistance of a male physical therapist in order to alleviate Camille's apprehensions," Logan asserts.
"She has undeniably made this entire situation solely about herself, which is rather disheartening," Katie remarks.
"Katie-Bear, I genuinely value your concern, I truly do. Nevertheless, this predicament I find myself in with Camille is a matter pertaining to our relationship, and it is my duty to rectify it," Logan declares.
After the evening meal, each individual indulges in their own luxurious activities. James and Carlos are engrossed in the television, Kendall is engrossed in a hockey magazine, and Logan is assisting Katie in her artistic endeavors. Suddenly, a loud knock shatters the tranquil atmosphere.
Katie opens the door and a sly smile appears on her face upon seeing Camille. "Hello, Camille," she greets with disdain. "Logan is contemplating ending things with you."
Camille's eyes widen in disbelief. "What?" she exclaims.
James, Carlos, and Kendall pause their activities, sharing the same shocked expression as they observe the unfolding drama.
Logan rushes over to Katie and Camille, sensing the tension. "What brings you here, Camille? What do you need?" he inquires urgently.
"I just want to discuss what happened yesterday and earlier. We must address the issues in our relationship," Camille responds, still reeling from Katie's revelation.
Katie frowns. "The only issue in your relationship with Logan is you," she states bluntly.
James, Kendall, and Carlos cringe at the escalating conversation.
"Katie, why don't you go to your room and unwind for a bit?" Logan suggests, attempting to diffuse the situation.
"But we were doing art together, and then she arrived," Katie retorts, shooting a glare at Camille.
"I understand, but this is important," Logan reasons with her.
"Is she more important than spending a peaceful evening doing art with me?" Katie sighs, glaring at Camille once more. "Fine, you win. I'll leave." With that, she storms off to her room, slamming the door behind her.
"Wow, that was quite an uncomfortable situation," James remarks.
"Guys, could you kindly grant me some personal space with Camille?" Logan politely requests.
"Certainly, my friend. We shall go and check on Katie," Kendall responds.
"Best of luck, Logie," Carlos says as he walks away with James and Kendall towards Katie's room.
Once they find themselves alone in the living room, Logan breaks the silence. "Camille, I didn't intend for Katie to be sent away. Now, not only is she upset with you, but also with me. She holds a significant place in my heart, and you are aware of that. I dislike seeing her distressed."
"I understand and I apologize for that, but we still need to address what happened yesterday and earlier today," Camille says.
"There isn't much to resolve. I have already expressed this multiple times. Tomorrow, I will switch to a male physical therapist," Logan states.
"You really don't have to do that," Camille insists.
"Yes, I do, otherwise you will continue to complain about Callie. I must remind you that you haven't even met her. You are unfairly judging her without any knowledge. Do you not care that it is her responsibility to restore my shoulder's full functionality? Your focus solely lies on her romantic thoughts towards me, which do not exist," Logan asserts.
"You can never be certain if someone like her can be trusted," Camille argues.
"Someone like her? What does that even mean? At this point, I trust her more than I trust you. At least she thinks rationally and maintains control over her emotions," Logan sighs. "We have been conversing for ten minutes, and you haven't even attempted to apologize for spilling my lemonade earlier. I no longer wish to argue. It is getting late, and you need to return home to avoid missing your curfew." He opens the door for her. Camille leaves without uttering another word.
Logan slumps onto the couch, his mind swirling with doubts about his relationship with Camille. Could he salvage what they had, or was it truly over? Sensing his distress, Katie rushes in, enveloping him in a hug to offer as much comfort as she can after his emotionally charged conversation with Camille.
"You didn't deserve any of that," Katie whispers, still holding him close. "I'm sorry I stirred the pot by telling Camille you were thinking of ending things. I just wanted to protect you. I know how much she means to you, and I don't want to see you two fall apart."
Logan nods, grateful for Katie's understanding. "I don't want us to break up either," he admits. "Let's put that aside for now. I'm exhausted. We need to get some rest. I have an early morning ahead, and you have school tomorrow."
Katie rolls her eyes dramatically. "School. Oh joy," she quips, unable to resist laughing as Logan starts tickling her.
Wednesday morning in Apartment 2J is a whirlwind of activity. Ms. Knight is gracefully preparing breakfast in the kitchen, Kendall is engaged in a lively conversation with Jo on the phone, James is indulging in a refreshing shower, Logan is leisurely solving a crossword puzzle while enjoying his toast, and Carlos and Katie are immersed in their own imaginative escapade, dashing around the living room.
"Could you kindly cease your acrobatics on the sofa, you two?" Kendall exclaims, slightly exasperated by Carlos and Katie's exuberance at such an early hour. "I am in the midst of a conversation with Jo."
Katie, still bouncing on the couch, retorts, "When are you not chatting with Jo? She lives just down the hall. If you want to talk to her, go to her place."
Kendall shakes his head. "No, thank you. Her father is not the most welcoming in the mornings without his coffee. I'd rather stay here."
Carlos interjects, "Too bad, my friend, because Katie and I have no intention of curbing our fun. Just ignore us if we are causing you distress." With that, he somersaults over the couch, landing on the floor behind it to catch a foam ball tossed by Katie.
Kendall lets out a frustrated sigh. "You two are truly testing my patience with your antics!"
Katie chuckles and fires back, "The feeling is mutual."
"Mother, please rein in your daughter before I lose my mind," Kendall pleads, clearly exasperated.
Ms. Knight waves off the situation casually. "Oh, Kendall, relax. She's just having some harmless fun."
"But Mom!" Kendall protests, pointing at Katie who is poking his face and laughing.
"You should be used to her antics by now," Ms. Knight remarks, flipping pancakes in the kitchen.
"Unfortunately, you're right," Kendall mutters irritably, returning to his phone call. "Sorry about that, Jo. Dealing with an immature little sister and her equally immature friend."
"I take offense to that!" Carlos interjects.
"Me too!" Katie adds.
Kendall rolls his eyes. "I don't care. Just deal with it. Anyway, Jo, about our plans for this afternoon, I was thinking we should-" His voice trails off as he sees Katie and Carlos aiming nerf guns at him.
"What were you saying, Kendall? Hello?" Jo's voice comes through the phone, followed by the sound of nerf gun bullets pelting Kendall. Then, the line goes dead.
"Did he seriously just hang up on me?" Jo mutters to herself, clearly annoyed.
Kendall exclaimed in disbelief, "Why on earth did you both decide to pelt me with Nerf gun bullets?!"
Katie responded firmly, "Your disrespectful comment about us being immature warranted a response. Consider this a lesson in treating others with respect."
Kendall retorted, "Using Nerf gun bullets as a form of retaliation only proves my point further. You both are indeed immature."
Logan interjected, clearly annoyed, "Can we please put an end to this pointless argument and focus on getting ready for school?"
Kendall defended himself, "I wouldn't have called them immature if they hadn't been running around and treating our apartment like a playground."
Logan insisted, "It's time to move past this and apologize for the unnecessary name-calling."
Reluctantly, Kendall apologized, "Katie and Carlos, I'm sorry for the immature comment. However, I must say, you both are incredibly aggravating."
Logan shook his head in exasperation, while James simply chuckled at the situation.
In the grandeur of the lobby, Logan gracefully departs alongside the elegant Ms. Knight, en route to his esteemed physical therapy appointment. As he strolls towards the opulent parking lot, a faint echo of Camille's voice reaches his ears, yet he chooses to disregard it, avoiding an unpleasant discourse. The remnants of their intense conversation from the previous night still linger, leaving him disheartened and desiring solace.
"Oh, the anguish of his indifference! Has he truly slipped away from my grasp? Is our once cherished bond now irreparably severed?" Camille laments, her voice filled with sorrow.
"Fear not, dear Cami. Logan's heart is burdened by the weight of your disagreement from last night. He yearns for respite, hence his decision to ignore you," Kendall reassures, his words dripping with empathy.
"I must implore him to reconsider his choice of a male physical therapist," Camille declares, her voice tinged with urgency.
"Is that not what you desired? For him to distance himself from Callie?" Kendall inquires, his tone curious.
"I was mistaken. I led him astray with my misguided assumptions, without even meeting Callie. I deeply regret my actions," Camille confesses, her voice filled with remorse.
"Regret will not alter the course he has chosen. He has made this sacrifice to appease you, to ensure your happiness. He is the epitome of selflessness, the finest beau one could ever hope for," Kendall remarks, his voice brimming with admiration. "From the way he speaks of Callie, I can discern her kindness, her compassion, and above all, her professionalism. She does not engage in flirtations with her male patients. Though I have yet to meet her, I can sense her genuine concern for Logan's well-being. She remains unfazed by his teenage celebrity status, for all she cares about is mending his ailing shoulder."
"You are absolutely correct, Kendall. I have been completely fixated on the wrong matter. It seems that Logan may perceive my actions as a lack of concern for his well-being, and even worse, he may believe that I no longer care for him as a person. How can I rectify this situation?" Camille expresses with a hint of distress.
"Frankly, Camille, you have found yourself in a rather precarious predicament," Kendall responds with a tone of concern. "We must make our way to the classroom promptly. You are well aware of Miss Collins' strictness when it comes to punctuality."
They gracefully enter the classroom and take their seats at their respective desks.
Meanwhile, at the physical therapy clinic, Logan patiently waits in the reception area, eager to discuss his desire to switch to a male physical therapist with Jordan and Callie.
"Are you absolutely certain about this decision, Logan?" Ms. Knight inquires, her voice filled with genuine concern.
"Yes, Ms. Knight, I must do this for Camille. It is what she desires," Logan replies with determination.
"And is it also what you truly desire?" Ms. Knight probes further.
"No, ma'am," Logan sighs, his voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "Her happiness means the world to me."
"What about your own happiness, my dear? This physical therapy session is for your benefit, and it will last for several months. Are you certain that you wish to switch from Callie, with whom you have established a strong rapport, to a male physical therapist, starting from scratch and building new relationships? While Camille holds significance in your life, she is not the one undergoing treatment. This is your medical appointment, not hers. You have the right to choose your physical therapist, regardless of her preferences. Just because she does not want you to have a female physical therapist does not mean you should concede and switch to a male one. She must learn to respect that you will interact with other individuals, including females, during your sessions," Ms. Knight advises with a gentle yet firm tone.
Logan expresses his frustration, "I've explained that to her so many times and we just end up arguing. I have no other choice but to do this. My decision is final Ms. Knight."
Ms. Knight responds with understanding, "Alright, my dear. I see you have made the decision you believe is best. I commend you for your maturity and responsibility, but I sense some doubt within you. You can't always cater to Camille's wishes, even if she protests."
Logan acknowledges, "You always give the most insightful advice, Ms. Knight. I miss my mother. She used to offer me wise counsel as well."
Ms. Knight reassures him, "I'm sure she's eagerly awaiting your visit in Minnesota, ready to share her motherly wisdom with you."
Curious, Logan inquires, "Do you think I should discuss my situation with Camille with her?"
Ms. Knight replies, "If that's what you feel is right, then go ahead."
Version 1:
Logan dials his mother's number on his phone, the urgency in his voice evident. As she answers promptly, her mind races with worry, assuming the worst.
"Mother, please, I assure you, I am perfectly fine. There is no need to fret," he reassures her, his voice filled with a mixture of frustration and concern. "But there is something that troubles me, something that I must share with you. Do you recall Camille? Ah, yes, I see that you do. She is my beloved girlfriend, and unfortunately, we find ourselves in the midst of a tumultuous period. No, she is not by my side at this moment. She is attending her studies while I am here, at the physical therapy clinic."
He continues, his words flowing with a sense of urgency. "You see, Mother, her unease stems from the fact that my physical therapist, a woman named Callie, has sparked unwarranted suspicions within Camille. She believes that Callie harbors romantic intentions towards me, that she wishes to entice or flirt with me. Yet, I assure you, Mother, Callie is nothing more than a consummate professional, a dear friend who has been instrumental in my recovery. Ever since I mentioned Callie's gender, Camille and I have found ourselves at odds, engaging in heated arguments day after day. It has become unbearable, and I am convinced that one possible solution lies in requesting a male physical therapist. What are your thoughts on this matter, Mother? Oh, how I long to be in your embrace, to find solace and tranquility in your warm, comforting touch, just as I did in my youth."
Mrs. Mitchell ponders for a moment, her mind working tirelessly to find a resolution for her son's predicament. Finally, she speaks, her voice filled with wisdom and love. "My dear, do not hastily abandon your current physical therapist. Camille does not hold dominion over your life, nor should she dictate your choices. She is your girlfriend, and trust should be the foundation of your relationship. If she cannot trust you in the presence of other women, then perhaps she is not the one for you."
Logan's voice trembles as he responds, his love for Camille evident in his words. "Mother, I love her dearly. I cannot bear the thought of losing her."
"Your love is as beautiful as a blossoming flower, my dear. I trust in your feelings. While I may not know her well, I can see the bond you both share. If you are dedicated to saving your relationship with her, then you will succeed," Mrs. Mitchell reassures.
Logan asks, "Where's Dad?"
"He's out bowling with his buddies. I'll pass on your message," Mrs. Mitchell replies.
"Thanks, Mom. I have to go. Love you. Bye," Logan says.
"Love you too, LogieBear," Mrs. Mitchell responds, causing Logan to sigh at the use of his childhood nickname.
"Mother!" Logan protests.
"I apologize, my dear. You know I love that nickname. Goodbye," Mrs. Mitchell says before hanging up.
