"Why are we having this discussion right now?" I sighed loudly.
"I really don't know..." he said.
"I think we should end this discussion. There is no point. It's been ten years... We both have moved on... There's no point digging the past and living through the pain again..." I said.
"Maybe you're right..." he said.
"Yeah..." I said.
"Yeah..." he said.
"Okay... Then..." I said, "Bye."
"Ummm... Yeah..." he said, "Bye."
And then I hung up the call.
There was no point in this...
It's been ten years...
But why was I regretting it now?
Maybe we should have tried to talk?
Talk about what?
Why did I suck so much?
Why couldn't I really move on?
He was a stupid, high school love, that's it!
But was he really just that?
No...
He was more than that...
Much more than that!
He was the most popular boy of our class.
He was the typical IT boy.
Brilliant.
Good looking.
Good at academics.
Good at sports.
One thing about him was a bit different from the IT boys though.
He was really... nice.
He was always ready to help everyone, especially girls!
God! He was the biggest flirt I've met!
We hardly spoke during the Freshman year. I was friends with his twin sister Alice, but I hardly interacted with him. I was the opposite of him... Plain, shy girl, who would rather spend her time with books rather than interacting with people!
Our first actual conversation happened during that Art class... I loved Art class!
"So here is your apple, and your time starts now!" Mr. Banner said.
Edward looked very focused... When he was done, he looked at his painting and he looked very satisfied with it... How could he be fucking good at everything!
"This is just brilliant, Isabella!" Mr. Banner said, "Everyone, look at this! This is just... brilliant!" He said as he showed it to everyone.
God! This was embarrassing! I hated any kind of attention on me!
Edward also looked at it, and his eyes immediately went to his painting... And he took his brush and made some touch-ups... I guess he was really competitive!
"Edward... I can't with you..." Mr. Banner said as he went to him and everyone in the class laughed.
Huh!
"What?" He said.
"What kind of horror is this?" Mr. Banner asked him.
And then they argued for a few seconds!
"Oh C'mon... You can't give me C for this!" He said, "This is killing my credits!"
"'C' is me being generous!" Mr. Banner said.
"You're kidding me!" He said.
And then he ran after him after the class!
Huh!
I guess not everyone could be good at everything!
He looked extremely frustrated when he came back to grab his bag. I was the only one there at that time.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"Ummm... Yeah..." He said, "I can't believe he gave me 'C'! Ms. Susan used to give me 'A+' for the same apple!"
"Ms. Susan?" I asked, "Your previous teacher?"
"My... My kindergarten teacher." He said.
His... what?
"She used to also give me a star and little hearts for my drawings!" he said, "Just because I grew up, it doesn't mean I was going to look at the apple differently! It's the same fucking apple!" He said as if he was saying the most obvious thing!
"And it's not even that bad..." He said as he showed me his painting and well... I must say Ms. Susan must have really liked him if she gave him a star and little hearts for this apple even back in the kindergarten!
Man! He really sucked at this... And I found it funny for some reason...
"I'm sorry..." I said as I couldn't help laughing at this horrible apple!
"What?" He snapped.
Shit!
I might have offended him, but...
"I'm sorry..." I said.
"God! I really suck at this..." he said with frustration and laughed.
