In Marinette's bedroom...
Marinette sat at her desk, eating her dinner. Her and Tikki were watching a TV show on her computer, laughing at the silly antics that were happening on screen. Marinette gave a piece of her baguette to Tikki and sat back to enjoy the rest of the show. Then she heard a knock at the door, and Tikki flew into a cabinet drawer nearby.
"Marinette, there's a friend here to visit," Sabine said from behind the door.
Marinette looked around to realize that her room was a bit of a mess. She quickly ran around her room, picking up fashion designs and recipes from the book all over her floor. She even picked up some of her art tools, but found a couple of stray pictures of Adrien on the floor. Once she grabbed it, her door opened up to find Adrien standing on her stairs.
She looked up, not expecting to see him standing there in her room tonight. Sabine stood behind him with a big smile on her face. She looked at her mom with an annoyed look on her face.
"Adrien's here," Sabine said to her daughter, "I'll leave you two alone. It looks like he wanted to see you for something important."
Marinette felt her cheeks turn bright red as she grabbed the rest of the pictures of Adrien. She tried to hide them once Adrien entered her room, but he caught a glimpse of one of them. Sabine closed the door behind him, and they were both alone together.
It was quiet for a while as they both stood there in awkward silence. Adrien rubbed the back of his head, and Marinette held the pictures close to her chest to keep them hidden. She hadn't seen him in that long, but him being in her room threw her off a little. She put her pictures of Adrien in a cabinet drawer and looked back at him a little nervously.
"H-Hey, Adrien," Marinette said to him, "What did you need me for?"
Marinette noticed that he got a little flustered and felt a little bit better all of a sudden. He rubbed the back of his head, wondering what to say next to her.
"My mom told me that you had something important to tell me," Marinette said to him, "Does it have something to do with Chrysalis or Class 1-A?"
"What? No. I-I just... wanted to see you," Adrien said to her, "I remember you said that I could come over whenever I wanted to. So, I thought about stopping by just to see how you were doing."
Marinette almost felt a heart skip a beat and waited for him to say something to her. All she could do was stare at him as Adrien stumbled on what to say to her. They hadn't been alone together in a while, so took awhile to get use to it.
"We-Well, make yourself at home," Marinette said to him, "Do you need anything to eat or drink?"
"N-No, I'm good," Adrien said back.
Then his stomach growled out, making her laugh. He blushed a little as she opened the door to get something for him to eat.
"Maybe just a croissant and whatever you have to drink," Adrien said to her.
Plagg floated out of his jacket and whispered in his ear. Marinette didn't even have to guess what he was saying to Adrien before he told her what the Kwami wanted.
"And some camembert, please?" Adrien said back.
Marinette smiled, and she headed downstairs. She noticed that her mom and dad were sitting in the living room across from the kitchen. They kept giving her side glances, and she tried to not to notice it. Tikki stayed hidden in her jacket as she grabbed a croissant, some orange juice and a piece of camembert. Once she grabbed what she needed, Marinette ran right back up to her room without looking back at her parents. She could tell what they were thinking, and there was no way she was going to fall for it again.
"Okay, Adrien. Here you go--"
Marinette ran back up to her room to see Adrien looking at pictures of him on her wall. She felt her cheeks turn bright red and ran over to her desk and placed the plate and cup on top of it.
"So-Sorry. I just couldn't help but notice that you have a lot of pictures of me in your room," Adrien said to her, "I know you said that it's because you're a fan of mine. I'm hoping because of me being Cat Noir that hasn't changed anything between you and your fashion designing."
Marinette was surprised to hear him mention her fashion designing considering what the posters and pictures looked like. She let out an exhale, feeling a little better.
"No, not at all," Marinette said to him, "In fact, I've been drawing a lot of fashion tonight for some reason. I just had to. Something about tonight felt like a good time to do it."
Marinette looked at Adrien and noticed his green eyes sparkling at how excited she was. She hadn't seen that in a while.
"Ca-Can... Can I see some of them?" Adrien asked her.
Marinette hesitated for a moment, but then she saw the look on his face and got excited to show him. She opened up one of the drawers and pulled out a few scraps of paper that she had jammed in there. Once he saw some of them, his eyes sparkled even more. A couple of them were of him wearing some fancy attire and street wear that looked similar to jagged stone. There were even a few model drawings wearing superhero costumes that were clearly inspired by Class 1-A.
"Wow. These are really cool!" Adrien cried out.
"You really think so? I even drew a couple of superhero costumes. I've never even considered designing superhero costumes until just now," Marinette said to him, "Class 1-A has really inspired me to design more."
"That's awesome, Marinette," Adrien said to her, "I bet there are a lot of superheroes over there in Japan that would love some designs like these."
Marinette's eyes sparkled at the thought of that, but then realized how close it was to them all leaving. It's only three days until they'll be leaving soon. She felt her shoulders slump as she grabbed one of the drawings. It looked like a model of AllMight, or at least what she remembered him looking like.
"What's wrong?" Adrien asked her, "These look amazing."
"Yeah. I know," Marinette said back to him, "But... Class 1-A and Mr. Aizawa are going to be leaving soon."
Adrien felt a little upset, too and joined in to support her. She could tell that he was just as upset as she was in that moment. Marinette didn't expect them to be here as long as they were, but she ended up really enjoying have them around. Even they weren't helping them with hero stuff, they enjoyed movie nights and hanging out together. They even went to see Andre together at one point.
"I didn't expect to like having them around as much as I do, and now with them leaving... It feels kind of weird," Marinette said to him, "And what about One for All? We both have bits of it inside of our Miraculous. That's gotta mean something, right?"
"Hey, your guess is as good as mine in this kind of situation," Adrien said back, "But, yeah. It'll definitely be weird not having them around. Maybe One for All will somehow bring us together again and we can see them again."
Marinette hugged Adrien, happy to see him once again. She was just so happy to have some alone time with him. She loved having Class 1-A around, but she really needed a break from them. Then she noticed the ring around his finger. She never thought about what she had found out until just now.
Adrien is a sentimonster.
Then she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket. She rolled her eyes and looked at her phone. It was Iida.
"I can call them back later," Marinette said as she pressed the decline button.
She put her phone down on the desk and held Adrien's hand. Adrien smiled at her and placed his forehead onto hers. She could feel him about to kiss her, when all of a sudden the phone went off again. Marinette groaned and answered the phone in annoyance.
"What? Can't you see that I'm busy here?" Marinette asked over the phone.
"S-Sorry, Marinette! I didn't mean to bother you at a time like this, but it's Bakugo," Iida said over the phone, "He's not looking too good right now. There's something wrong with his quirk."
Marinette froze in place, knowing full well what that might mean. Adrien saw the look on her face and got ready to transform if he needed to.
"What do you mean there's something wrong with his quirk?" Marinette asked him, "His quirk is now a Miraculous, unless..."
"It looks like his quirk came back, but it's making him sweat a lot. He just passed out from using it. Something's not right with it, Marinette," Iida explained to her.
"Alright, me and Adrien are on our way over," Marinette said to him, "Just get him ready for a healing session. I'll be there as soon as I can."
Marinette hung up the phone, and Adrien looked at her with a surprised look on his face.
"Katsuki has his quirk back?" Adrien almost cried out, "But how?"
"I guess Izuku's Miraculous is just different from his. He was born with it, so Chrysalis can't necessarily take it all," Marinette explained to him, "But with Izuku, his quirk was given to him. I guess it just can't come back the way Katsuki's can."
"Does that mean that Izuku's could come back?" Adrien asked.
Marinette stopped for a moment and thought about it. She could still feel One for All around her earrings, but nothing different. With their quirks however and how weird they were, she could definitely see that as a possibility.
"I'm not sure yet, but right now we need to get to the school right away," Marinette said to him.
They both transformed in her bedroom and made sure to go out the balcony door. Before she could head over there however, Cat Noir stopped her and grabbed his baton.
"Should we tell the others? Like Chloe or Alya?" Cat Noir asked her.
Ladybug looked at him, shocked to hear him say Chloe. She understood why he would mention Alya, but had a feeling she knew why he even brought up Chloe.
"Why Chloe?" Ladybug asked back.
"Well... because, you know. She likes Katsuki, and I thought she should at least know that he doesn't feel good," He tried to explain to her.
Ladybug gave him a look and rolled her eyes at him. She really hoped Chloe was in a good mood to be woken up for this sort of thing.
"Fine. You can call her. Just, don't make it seem like that big of a deal please. I don't need her freaking out over something that might not be that big of a deal."
Cat Noir opened up his baton and called her really quickly. Ladybug stood across from him as she folded her arms and waited for him to end the call. After a few minutes of talking, he hung up and smiled at her. By the looks of it, it looked like Chloe was on her way over.
"What about Alya?" Cat Noir asked her.
"I don't want to wake her up again. She needs her rest, especially after covering for us last time," Ladybug explained as she tossed her yo-yo, "Now, let's go. I don't want them waiting for so long."
Ladybug and Cat Noir both headed straight for the school. The moment they got over there, their eyes widened at another hole in the wall. Not only was there another hole in the wall of the school, but it was in the exact same spot as last time. Ladybug looked at it annoyance, and they both went in through there.
Once they landed swiftly into the classroom, Class 1-A and Mr. Aizawa were all there to greet them. However, they didn't look happy to see them. They looked worried for their friend, Bakugo. They both noticed that they had done what she had said and set up area for him to lay down. Todoroki was already standing over him, letting ice fall from his right side. Midoriya ran up to them looking really nervous for his childhood friend.
"Ladybug, Cat Noir, you're finally here," Midoriya said to them, "Kacchan quirk is back. I don't know how, but he's sweating a lot. We've gotta keep him from sweating so much especially with a quirk like his. If you need to know anything about his quirk, I know a few things about it that might help--"
"Izuku, calm down," Ladybug said to him as she put her hand on his shoulder, "I came here to help. Freaking out like that isn't going to help him."
Midoriya took a deep breath in and out and got himself to relax. Midoriya walked up to him with Ladybug and Cat Noir behind him. Todoroki kept making ice all around him so he could slow down Bakugo's sweating a little bit. Once she got closer to him, she noticed how much he was actually sweating and got worried.
She ran up to him and placed her hand onto his forehead. He felt like he was sick like Midoriya was. Something about it though felt different. She didn't have a weird connection to it like One for All, but it was still had something to do with his quirk being taken away from him. Ladybug looked at his Miraculous and carefully took it off of his finger.
Sparkky flew over to her, looking really worried for his holder.
"Are you sure he's going to be okay? Something about this doesn't feel right," Sparkky said to her.
"What do you know, Sparkky?" Ladybug asked the Kwami, "His quirk is clearly coming back. He really needs a healing session. Hopefully that'll help bring back his quirk."
The whole class all looked at each other like they were so happy to finally hear some good news for their friend. Even Midoriya looked like he was about to cry. Uraraka held his hand, happy to see everyone so excited for Bakugo for once.
"I don't know much about this since I'm new to this," Sparkky tried to explain to her, "But one thing about his quirk is that the more he sweats, the more dangerous it is to be around him. You're going to want to heal him quickly, Ladybug."
Ladybug felt herself sweat a little from how nervous she was. She looked back at Bakugo and noticed how heavy his breathing was. Her and Cat Noir both shared a look as she noticed a bucket of water and a rag right by her side. She reached for the wet rag and placed it on top of his forehead.
"Ladybug, are you sure about this?" Cat Noir asked her, "I know you healed Izuku, but this is different. This is Katsuki we're talking about."
The whole class looked at her like she was the only way they could get Bakugo to wake up. Even Mr. Aizawa looked at her, clearly not sure what to do about this situation. He was about to ready to throw in the towel and let Ladybug take over.
"Of course I'm going to help him. He got back almost all of the Miraculous back there in HawkMoth's lair. Don't forget, he also helped with One for All getting akumatized," Ladybug said to him.
Cat Noir felt a little bad for even bringing it up, so he backed off a bit and let her take care of him. Before Ladybug could do anything about it however, Chloe came barging in making everyone jump.
"Katsuki! Where is he?!" Chloe cried out.
Ladybug watched Chloe noticing how much worry emitted through her eyes. Chloe sat next to Ladybug without even thinking about it and held his hand. Even Class 1-A was a bit thrown off by this moment and didn't know how to respond. Ladybug sat there, watching Chloe looking at him with so much worry. It made her realize that Chloe had really changed a lot lately. It seems like Class 1-A and even Bakugo has changed her for the better. She smiled subtly and got in a little closer to help her out.
"Chloe. I'm glad you're here to help out," Ladybug commented to her.
Chloe clearly didn't expect her to say that and blushed a little bit from realizing what she was doing. She backed off a little bit and gave Ladybug the space that she needed to do her thing,
"Umm... Of course, Mari-- I mean, Ladybug," Chloe said to her, "After Cat Noir called me, I knew something wasn't right. Katsuki told me about how his quirk can hurt him if he uses it too much, it hurts his arms and shoulders. He said nothing about this however."
Midoriya was so surprised to hear her talk about his quirk like that. He knew that they were close, but he didn't realize how close they were until Uraraka told him about them hero training together. It at least lightened up the mood around the classroom a little bit.
"Okay, everyone. I need everyone to be quiet while I figure out what's going on with his quirk," Ladybug said to them, "Shouto, I need you to keep doing what you're doing while I try to heal him. His quirk is a bit dangerous, so I really need to stay here and help me out here."
"Yes, Ladybug," Todoroki said back as he stepped up as a hero in training.
Ladybug took a deep breath in and out as Midoriya and Uraraka sat on the other side of him. They were all so worried about him, but they knew Ladybug could do something about it since she helped Midoriya out a while ago. She held the Miraculous and knew this would be nothing like what happened with Midoriya fortunately. Gripping onto the Miraculous, she placed it into Chloe's hand and gave her a smile.
"Hold onto this. I trust you to hold onto this while I check on him," Ladybug said to her.
Chloe stood up straight and gripped it tight.
"Of course, Ladybug," Chloe said back with a smile.
Ladybug then placed her hands on top of his forehead and chest. She closed her eyes and tried to find... something. She didn't know what to look for exactly since she didn't have a weird connection to this quirk like she did with One for All. But she was the Guardian of the Miraculous, so she sat up straight and started to feel something.
It felt hot.
As she got closer to that feeling, her hero costume began to glow pink around her black polka dots. Her wings began to flutter around like there was wind coming from the hole in the wall. Beads of sweat dripped down her forehead, causing Midoriya and Chloe to notice.
Ladybug felt something come over her, something hot and explosive. She tried to go through it, but it was so hot that she felt like she was about to get burnt. It felt like a bunch of fireworks were going off all around her.
"Katsuki, say something if you can hear me," Ladybug said to him.
Nothing happened. There was no sign of Bakugo anywhere. Just his quirk, and it was really hot.
As it got brighter and hotter, she felt so hot that she let go of Bakugo's grip. Her eyes wide open realizing how hot he was now that she had let go. She felt like she had to catch her breath as she looked around to see Class 1-A and Chloe still around her for support.
"What just happened?" Midoriya asked her.
"Yeah. You never let go of Izuku when you were healing him," Uraraka said to her.
Ladybug gave herself a moment to look at Bakugo. He was still unconscious and heavy breathing. His sweating wasn't letting up at all, even as Todoroki let ice fall all over him. It was just melting as it got closer to him.
"The bad news is that Katsuki's quirk is making him really hot. The good news is his quirk is definitely back, but something is wrong with it. That's why he's sweating so much. We need to find a way to cool him down so I can get through to him," Ladybug explained to them.
Class 1-A looked around each other, wondering what they could do to help them out. Mr. Aizawa stepped up and used his quirk on him to see if it would do anything. His eyes widened when he realized that his quirk really was coming back because it seemed to help him relax a little. Bakugo even stopped breathing so heavily.
Everyone seemed to calm down a little bit, but they still needed to figure out something. She knew that if she used her Lucky Charm, she would detransform way too soon for this to work out. She noticed how upset Chloe looked as she held his hand for support. It reminded her of Uraraka and Midoriya, the way she looked at him when he was being healed by her.
Then she looked at her yo-yo and wondered if she should try something she hadn't done in a long time. Ladybug took her yo-yo from around her hip and opened it up. The glowing pink caught everyone's attention as she reached into it and pulled out the Dragon Miraculous. That made Chloe stiffened up a little along with anyone else who realized what it was.
"The Dragon Miraculous? But why that one?" Midoriya asked her, "That wouldn't do much."
Ladybug held it up and smiled at it with hopeful eyes.
"Not unless I fuse with it."
Another amazing chapter!
This was kind of an interesting chapter to write. I didn't plan on writing another healing session, but I thought I'd get this over with before they end up going back home to Japan. Besides, I think I know where I want this to go when it comes to Bakugo's quirk coming back. Maybe Midoriya's quirk isn't gone after all... We'll see!
What's going to happen next??
More to come soon!
