Kim Possible: A New Sitch
Chapter 3: Old Arch Foes, New Friends
It had been a few days since Dr. Drakken and his sidekick, Shego, had helped Kim and Ron save the world from the Lowardians and received a medal for it. After which, he and Shego decided to go straight and give up villainy. What's more is that the two former super-villains started dating as well. On top of that, Drakken had decided to get back into the cupcake business with Hank Perkins. Shego had decided to apply to teaching jobs as well. Of course, she wouldn't be able to teach until summer was over. Until then, Shego would act as an Assistant Manager for Drakken's cupcake store.
That day, Drakken was busy getting his cupcake business back up and running, while Shego had been applying for teaching jobs. Shego was the first to arrive back at Drakken's lair. She was wearing the same hairstyle and outfit that she did when she was turned good by the attitudinator.
"Dr. D?" Shego called out.
Suddenly, Shego felt someone tapping her on the shoulder, "Shego?"
The former evil sidekick yelped as she turned around and noticed her boyfriend standing behind her.
"Oh, hey, Dr. D," Shego said. "Don't scare me like that. Are you and Hank done setting up the cupcake store?"
"We sure are," Drakken said with a proud nod. "And we'll be open for business tomorrow morning."
"Wow. Already?" Shego said in amazement. "I didn't think you'd be ready for business that fast."
"Well, it was easy enough," Drakken explained. "Hank was able to call in enough favors to get the store set up. What about you? How goes applying for teaching jobs, Shego?"
"Pretty well, actually," Shego spoke. "I actually accepted a teaching job at Middleton High."
"Middleton High?" Drakken said in surprise. "Didn't you work there when that crazy electrical villain turned you into a good guy?"
Shego sighed, "Yes. But Mr. Barkin was willing to offer me another teaching job there. Of course, I can't start until the next school year."
"Oh, yeah, isn't Mr. Barkin the one who you used to call, 'Stevie'," Drakken inquired.
Shego sighed again, "Again, yes. He wasn't mad about the time I released the dogs on him. He was just disappointed about the fact that he can't date me anymore."
"And does Kim Possible know that you accepted a job at her old high school?" Drakken asked.
"Well, no, not yet," Shego answered. "I haven't had a chance to tell her yet. I'll tell her the next time I see her."
"Speaking of which…" Drakken continued speaking. "Can you believe that Kim Possible and the baff- I mean, Ron Stoppable, have actually gotten engaged?"
"Yeah, that really threw me for a loop too," Shego commented. "I mean, I knew that Kimmie and the Ronster really cared about each other, but I never imagined they'd want to get married this early in life."
"Hmm, I wonder if they'll invite us to their wedding," Drakken wondered aloud.
"I doubt it," Shego spoke. "I don't think those two would want their 'arch foes' to attend their wedding."
"I don't know about that," Drakken countered. "Knowing how 'goodie-two-shoes' they both are, they probably would want to invite us whether they think we'd like it or not."
"Hmm, you got a point there," Shego realized. "Oh, well, we'll just have to wait and see."
Suddenly, the sound of the doorbell ringing was heard.
"Who could that be?" Shego wondered aloud.
"Hmm…" Drakken went over to the door. He opened it and saw two familiar faces. The ones he and Shego were just talking about.
"Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable?!" He said in surprise.
"Wow, talk about total synchronicity," Shego commented.
"Look, we're not doing anything evil anymore, I swear," Drakken said frantically.
"Amp down Drakken, we're not here to accuse you," Kim said.
"You're not?" Drakken said in surprise.
"Of course not," Ron added. "We just came to see how you guys have been doing since you went straight."
"Well, in that case…" Drakken said hesitantly. "Come on in."
Kim and Ron walked into the lair.
"By the way, thanks for getting my name right," Ron said with a smirk.
"You're gonna milk that everytime, aren't you?" Kim said with a blank look.
"Pretty much, KP," Ron answered.
"Wow, Kimmie," Shego said in surprise. "I actually didn't think you'd want to just visit like this."
Kim smirked, "Well, we're just full of surprises, aren't we?"
Shego smirked, "You got that right. Though I'd say the biggest surprises have lately been coming from your new fiance here."
She pointed at Ron.
Ron chuckled sheepishly, "I'm guessing you and Drakken saw the post on Kim's website."
Shego nodded, "Sure did. Gotta say, Ronster, I didn't think you had that in you."
"Well, after everything KP and I have been through, I guess I just felt like I wanted to be closer to Kim than ever before," Ron explained.
"Well, good luck, you two," Shego said. "You deserve it."
"Thanks, Shego," Kim said in appreciation.
"So when will it happen for you guys?" Ron asked with a smirk.
Drakken and Shego blushed.
"Ron," Kim interjected.
"What? We're all thinking it," Ron pointed out.
Shego sighed, "Actually, me and Dr. D just started dating."
"Hmm, well, that's no surprise," Kim commented. "Congratulations. To be honest, you two are perfect for each other."
"Gee, thanks, Kimmie," Shego said in appreciation.
"No big," Kim responded. "Actually, the other reason we came here was to see if you're interested in attending our wedding."
"Wait… you actually want us to come to your wedding?" Shego said in surprise.
"Well, yeah, since you're not our arch foes anymore, it just makes sense to invite you, right?" Ron pointed out.
"Hmm, can't really argue with that," Shego said with a shrug of her shoulders.
"I had a feeling you'd invite us," Drakken said proudly. "After all, we did help you save the world from those putrid aliens. And it was my mutant plants that put those overgrown walkers out of commission."
Shego groaned as she put a hand on her face. She had a feeling Drakken would start bragging about his 'achievement' again."
"Dude, we get it, you won a medal, have some humility!" Ron spoke irritably.
"Yeah, Dr. D, don't forget, it was Ronster here who stepped up 'Monkey Style' and literally blew those aliens up along with their ship," Shego pointed out.
Drakken sighed, "Yes, I got it, Shego."
"So, what have you guys been doing since going straight?" Kim asked.
"Well, if you must know," Drakken started speaking. "We're opening our old Cupcake Shop back up tomorrow."
"You mean, Hank's Gourmet Cupcakes?" Kim said with a raised eyebrow.
"That cupcake store you were running as a front while you were trying to freeze the world?" Ron inquired.
"Yes," Drakken answered. "We figured that, aside from helping you save the world, selling cupcakes was the second thing we were successful at. So we decided to call Hank Perkins and ask him for help getting the cupcake business back up again. We'll be open for business tomorrow."
"And I'm going to be the assistant manager," Shego pointed out. "Of course, that's before I start a new teaching job at Middleton High next year."
"Woah, back up," Ron said. "You're going to be working at our old high school again?"
"Yeah. Problem?" Shego said with a raised eyebrow.
"No, no, of course not," Kim said quickly. "That's actually spankin."
Shego smiled as she and Kim gave each other a high five.
"You know, if you want, we also wanted to invite you to my birthday party in a couple weeks," Kim spoke up.
"Really?" Drakken and Shego said in unison.
"I didn't know Kimberly's birthday was this time of the year," Drakken speculated.
"Probably because we don't tell super-villains when our birthdays are," Ron pointed out.
"Hmm, you got a point," Drakken admitted with a shrug.
"So you really want us to come to your birthday too, Kimmie?" Shego asked in astonishment.
"Well, yeah," Kim responded. "Why not?"
"Yeah, the more guests we have the merrier," Ron pointed out.
"Well, I don't think be able to come to your birthday party, Kimberly," Drakken spoke. "Might be a little too busy with running the cupcake shop."
"That and I don't really do birthday parties," Shego added. "No offense."
"But I think we will be able to make it to your wedding," Drakken pointed out.
"Spankin," Kim said with a smile.
"Badical," Ron added.
"Again with the tween slang," Drakken groaned.
"Yeah, it's just what we do," Kim explained. "So not the drama."
"I hear that," Shego said. "So when is your wedding?"
"Saturday, July 30," Kim informed. "We'll have Wade send you an invitation with all the details"
Shego and Drakken nodded.
"Gotcha," Shego said. "And thanks."
"No big," Kim said with a wave of her hand.
Later, Kim and Ron were flying away in the sloth from Drakken and Shego's lair.
"Wow, visiting Drakken and Shego as friends instead of enemies was weird and kinda fun at the same time, huh, KP?" Ron spoke up.
"No kidding," Kim responded. "I'm actually really glad that Drakken and Shego are making better lives for themselves."
"Yeah, I supposed they really do deserve better lives," Ron speculated. "Cause no one deserves to be a failure of a mad scientist with an evil sidekick forever. I mean, look at me. I was a loser for pretty much most of high school and probably most of my life before that. Then in senior year I was the improbable star of the football team and dating my dream girl… which, of course, is you. And now we're getting married. That's what I call a happy ending."
Kim smirked, "You got that right, Ronnie. And I couldn't ask for a better happy ending than one with you."
Ron smiled warmly.
They looked like they were about to lean in for a kiss. Suddenly, Wade Load, Kim's tech guru, appeared on the kimmunicator screen of the car.
"Hey, guys," Wade said with a wave. "Were you about to kiss while driving again?"
Kim and Ron blushed in embarrassment.
"What's the sitch, Wade?" Kim spoke, desperate to change the subject.
"We might have a big sitch on our hands," Wade informed. "Dr. Vivian Porter's android designs have been stolen."
"What?" Kim said in surprise. "By who?"
"It wasn't that Dr. Fen guy, was it?" Ron groaned.
"No, actually we might be dealing with someone much worse," Wade informed.
"Who?" Kim asked.
"Motor Ed," Wade said with a serious face.
"Motor Ed?" Kim said in surprise.
"Wow, we haven't seen that guy since we accidentally tore Bonnie's car apart," Ron commented.
"What would mullet head want with android designs?" Kim wondered aloud.
"Maybe he's stealing them for someone else?" Ron suggested.
"You know, Ron, you just might be onto something," Kim said. "Wade, any way we can track down Motor Ed?"
"He was last in Upperton," Wade informed them. "If you can find any trace of tire tracks, we might be able to track him down the same way we did when he stole Felix's wheelchair."
"Good idea, Wade," Kim said.
"Well, looks like this'll be our first sitch since the Lorwardian Invasion, huh, KP?" Ron groaned.
"So not the drama, Ronnie," Kim assured her fiance. "We'll get this sitch over with as soon as possible and get back to our good day before you know it. Besides, it doesn't matter what sitch we go on. As long as I'm with you, that's all that matters to me."
Ron smiled, "And you're all that matters to me too, KP."
Kim smiled back, "Thanks, Ronnie. Let's go."
Kim hit the accelerator and steered the car towards Upperton.
