I don't own MHA. I only own OC's.
Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.
TheGreatGodzilla: Thank you once again for leaving a review! :)
1. Yup. I heard about it and I'm really glad we got some lore about Geten (ironically I posted the chapter where I said in the reply to your review that I would like to learn more about his character the day before the leaks with this revelation came out) as he is my favourite member from the meta liberation army. The revelation of him being from Rei's family and being related to Dabi was interesting to say the least. Dabi had a family reunion during MVA and didn't even realize. Plus the return of Mr. Compress and the stuff with Dabi in this chapter was awesome as well. Dabi developing ice powers just made everything about him more tragic. If Endeavor had nurtured Toya more instead of just giving up when he realized that he didn't have fire resistance, he probably would have developed his ice sooner and be living his dream of a hero right now. In the end, he was always the perfect child Endeavor was looking for and yet he was still thrown aside by him...
2. No spoilers. You'll have to wait and see :)
3. Gareth hasn't made the choice to give Eri to the heroes. Not yet, at least. He did say to Toga that he is still thinking about it during their conversation about it. You'll see him making his decision about this matter in this chapter.
4. Toga displayed interest in taking Eri with them during her conversation with Gareth and Twice about this topic. She even teased Gareth about him and Origami becoming Eri's parents if they'll bring Eri with them to the League, much to Gareth's embarassment.
5. I feel like Gareth would dislike Humanrise because of their goal reminding them of Overhaul as you already know what Gareth thinks of him. No spoilers regarding whether they will be included in this story or not. You'll have to wait and see :)
6. They really made a mod like this? Interesting. Will check it out on the internet :)
7. You perfectly voiced my thoughts about what Shigaraki and Toga would like about those two anime :)
THE-Twilight-BlazeKnight: Thank you once again for leaving a review! :)
1. I'm glad you liked the interaction between Magne, Mr. Compress and Origami. I've been looking forward to writing it ever since I published the chapter where Overhaul was introducted and where all three of them lost their arms. You can say that Mr. Compress took over the role of the group's dad from Kurogiri in this scene :)
2. I knew some readers would find Gareth doing something like this controversial, but I decided to go with this his during his fight with Rappa as I wanted this scene to show two things. First thing was to show the growing friendship and trust between Gareth and Twice and the second thing was to show that Gareth is evolving as a villain and is now willing to do stuff like this if it means receiving a chance to expansion of the League, despite staying on the more respectable side when it comes to villains in the world of MHA. The second reason may come to play later in the story regarding one situation. You'll know what I'm talking about once we'll reach it :)
3. You may get Izuku's POV in this chapter :)
4. I'm glad you liked the last chapter and I hope you'll like this chapter as well! :)
ironjoe1015: I'm glad you liked it and I hope you'll like this chapter. No spoilers when it comes to the War arc. You'll have to wait and see :)
A few days have passed since the fight between Gareth and Rappa and Gareth and Rappa were in the training grounds in the Shie Hassaikai headquarters right now. After following Tengai's advice and staying away from any kind of exercise for about three days, Gareth fulfilled his part of the deal with Rappa and started attending the fighting lessons which he offered him after their fight yesterday.
Gareth let out a deep breath as he swung his fists at the punching bag in front of him as Rappa watched him from behind the said punch bag, nodding his head to himself every few seconds. The brawler made sure to eye Gareth's each movement carefully, making a mental note to correct the black haired boy about each mistake he had just made once the session will be over. Tengai watched everything from the distance, keeping an eye on Rappa as he was ready to use his Quirk just in case if something happened during this training session.
"Alright." Rappa said as Gareth stopped what he was doing and looked at him questioningly, "Let's take a break for a few minutes and talk about how you've been doing in todays training session so far. Keep your stance up as it will have something to do with it."
Gareth nodded at him as he did as he was instructed and kept his stance, "Alright. What do you have to say?"
"You were doing well doing this session of punches. For the most part." Rappa replied as he stepped closer to Gareth and grabbed his hands. Gareth made sure not to move and allowed Rappa to do his work as Rappa corrected his fighting stance, making sure it was the correct one, "There was something off about your fighting stance at the start. Your fists were too high again. They should be around this height instead. Once you will stop making this mistake, you will have more mobility and your body will be able to both generate and absorb force."
"Alright." Gareth once again nodded at Rappa as Rappa took his hands away from him and moved towards the punching bag again, "Are we going back to the training or do you have something else do you have to say?"
"We're going back to the training." Rappa replied, stopping behind the punching bag as he crossed his arms, "If I'll notice something wrong about your stance or your punches, then I'll let you know during the next break."
"Okay." Gareth nodded as he took his fighting stance again, making sure to keep his fists around the height Rappa told him to keep. Not wasting any time, the black haired boy started to swing his fists at the punching bag in front of him.
Rappa nodded in approval as soon as soon as Gareth took his fighting stance because the black haired boy this time managed to take the proper fighting stance without any corrections. He stayed silent, ocasionally making an internal comment about Gareth's hand-in-hand combat skills as he continued to watch how Gareth's fists collided with the punching bag over and over again in silence.
The yakuza member already got to know Gareth's fighting skills from experience from their fight a few days ago and from view on the day they started their training. He told Gareth to show him his skills on the day they started their training, because he wanted to know what he would be working with. Gareth wasted no time and did as he was told. He showed Rappa everything he learned during his training with All For One, showing him everything he had to improve on in the process.
Rappa kept his arms crossed as he proceeded to watch Gareth give the punching bag another session of firm punches. If the yakuza member was honest with himself, All For One trained Gareth well when it came to his fighting skills and because of this he won't have to train him as much as he would have to train him if he ddin't have any experience. There were still a few things Gareth had to improve on, though and Rappa was going to make sure Gareth was going to get rid of those mistakes and improve his fighting skills during their training sessions.
"...Gakkun!" Twice's voice echoed from the other side of the training grounds as Gareth, Rappa and Tengai looked over to the source of it and saw him walking towards Gareth and Rappa.
Gareth looked at him questioningly, "What is it, Twice?"
"Toga-chan told me to come get you as she went to bring us lunch." Twice explained as he made his way to Gareth and Rappa. He wasn't the only one, though as Tengai made his way to them from where he stood as well, "Are you coming or what? Hurry up or I'll eat your lunch!"
Gareth shifted his gaze to Rappa, wanting to know what he thought about taking a break from the training for several minutes, "Are you okay with me taking a break from the training for several minutes?"
"No. Go eat with him." Rappa nodded at him, giving him his permission to take a break from the training, "To be honest I was about to call for a lunch break after you'd be done with this series of punches as I'm feeling quite hungry myself."
Gareth smiled at him and shifted his gaze back to Twice, "Alright. Let's go Twice."
"Actually can we talk about something before we'll go to eat lunch with Toga-chan?" Twice asked.
"What is it?" Gareth wanted to know.
"Remember the conversation we had a few days ago after you discovered your super move?" Twice asked him another question as Gareth nodded in confirmation, "You told me I could figure out a name for it and I think I came up with a perfect name for it!"
"What did you come up with?" Gareth asked with curiosity evident in his voice.
Twice swung his fist forward in a dramatic manner as he revealed the name he had come up with to Gareth, "Red Fist of Doom! You know because you knocked Rappa away from you and defeated with only one punch after using this technique? It really fits. Right?"
"So childish." Tengai muttered under his breath upon hearing the name Twice came up with for Gareth's super move.
Gareth put his hand on his chin with a thoughtful look on his face, looking like he was considering something. He smiled at Twice a second later, "Not a bad idea, Twice. I'll make sure to consider it."
"Awesome!" Twice happily tossed his arms in the air, the fact that Gareth liked his suggestion making him feel really happy on the inside, "You really are going to consider this name!? It's ridiculous!"
Gareth chuckled at Twice's excited reaction and shifted his gaze to Rappa and Tengai. He looked between them with a questioning look on his face, "What about you two? Do you want to eat with us?"
Rappa nodded at him, accepting his offer, "Sure why not?"
"I suppose I can join you as well." Tengai agreed, being in a mood for something to eat himself. He looked at Twice questioningly a second later, "Are you okay with me and Rappa joining you Twice?"
"No. Go right ahead." Twice shook his head, waving his concerns off. He would have a problem with spending time with them a few days ago, but he spent some time around Rappa and Tengai after Gareth's fight with Rappa and managed to take a liking in both of them, despite them working for the man who hurt Origami, Magne and Mr. Compress, "Go away! We don't want to eat with you!"
"Very well." Tengai said as he glanced at Gareth, "We shall join you, then."
"Great." Gareth smiled as he pushed himself into walk towards the exit from the training grounds, "Okay. Let's go. I don't want to keep Toga-chan waiting."
Twice, Rappa and Tengai followed him and all four of the exited the training grounds together. They parted ways a few seconds later as Rappa and Tengai had to grab something to eat for themselves before they will joining Gareth, Twice and Toga on their lunch. Not wasting any time, Gareth and Twice made their way to their room where Toga was waiting for them with their food, being in the process of eating her own portion of food.
Toga swallowed the food she had in her mouth upon setting her eyes on Gareth and Twice, "Gakkun. Jin-kun. There you two are. You've been gone so long that your food was starting to get cold."
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Twice wanted to talk with me about something before we left the training grounds." Gareth explained with a slightly apologetic look on his face
Toga looked at Twice questioningly, "Was this about the cool name you came up for him?"
Twice nodded in confirmation, "Yup."
"What did he thought about it?" Toga wanted to know.
"He said he likes it and will consider it." Twice explained, "I still can't believe he liked such a ridiculous name!"
"Good." Toga smiled, pleased with the news of Gareth liking the name Twice came up for his super move. She shifted her gaze back to Gareth a second later, "You should go with that name, Gakkun. If it was up for me, I would go along with it without a second thought. Maybe I would make a small change in it to make it sound more bloody, but you know what I mean."
"Alright. Alright. I did say I'd consider it, right?" Gareth smiled back at Toga as he sat down across from her and set his eyes on his own portion of food, "What are we eating today?"
"The same as usual." Toga replied, going back to her food, "Whoever is making our food isn't very original if you ask me."
"Yummy." Twice replied, lifting his mask a bit to have the mouth uncovered as he took his seat next to Toga and set his eyes on his own portion of food, "This stuff is nasty! Get it away from me!"
"Okay. Let's dig in." Gareth said, digging into his lunch as Twice wasted no time and followed his example. After swallowing the food he had in his mouth after his first bite, Gareth set his eyes on Toga and informed her about something, "Toga-chan. Rappa and Tengai-kun will be join us for lunch today. I hope you're okay with it."
"Don't worry. I'm fine with it." Toga shrugged, "As long as it won't be someone else. Out of all members of the yakuza, they're the most tolerable and are the only ones I have to keep myself from gutting on sight."
Gareth nodded at her, gladdened to hear she no problems with it as he didn't want her to eat her lunch with someone she didn't want to. He and went back to eating his food right after, eating more and more of it with each passing moment and Rappa and Tengai arrived at their room with their own portions of food shortly after. After making sure both of them made it to the right room, the two yakuza members took their seats next to Gareth and dig into their own meals.
As the group of five villains proceeded to eat their lunch together, they started a conversation with each other and exchanged many words with each other as they did their best to enjoy their lunch and have fun with each other. Or least they had fun with each other until something crashed at the front door to the headquarters and the heroes came barreling into the home of the yakuza...
After a loud crash echoed across the Shie Hassaikai headquarters, the heroes and the police came rushing into the home of the yakuza through the front entrance, Gareth, Toga, Twice, Rappa and Tengai immediately gave up on what they were doing as all of them were understably alarmed by all the noise they made when it happened. The five of them left Gareth, Toga and Twice's room right after and rushed into the hallway.
The group of five split up and parted ways shortly after entering the hallway. Gareth, Twice and Toga rushed in the direction of the passage leading to Eri's room as Rappa and Tengai went in the opposite direction. It was the direction of all this commotion was coming from. Gareth quickly made his way down to the basement, wanting to make sure Eri was safe as Toga and Twice were right behind him. Just as he passed the corner, he was just in time to see Overhaul and Kurono walking together along the hallway as Kurono held Eri in his arms.
Overhaul stopped in his tracks for a second at the view of Gareth, Toga and Twice. Their view didn't stop him for long, though as he pushed himself back into walk a second later. He looked at the three villains from the League a cold look on his face as he passed them, "There you are. Glad you could make it."
"Sorry if we kept you waiting. We were in the middle of the lunch with Rappa and Tengai-kun when all this commotion happened." Gareth explained, "What happened? Are we really under attack?"
"Yes." Kurono nodded in confirmation, holding Eri close to him as Eri had her eyes set on Gareth, Toga and Twice. Horror was evident in her eyes. Gareth smiled at her, trying to reassure her everything will be okay without saying anything to her. It didn't do much, though as Eri flinched with each bang which sounded above them.
"I see." Gareth nodded in understanding. He looked around himself a second, trying to spot if more of Overhaul's subordinates were anywhere near him, "I can only see both of you here. What about the rest? Where are they?"
"They should be at their outposts right now, waiting to take care of the heroes while we will get out of here." Overhaul replied, motioning to himself, Kurono and Eri, "The three of you were with Rappa and Tengai when we were attacked, right? Why do you think they split up from you? Those bastards better make themselves useful right now."
Twice narrowed his eyes at Overhaul, "What? Are you planning to leave your comrades behind?"
"Yes." Overhaul nodded in confirmation as he glanced at Gareth and pointed at him, intending to clarify his point, "How many villains have you and Shigaraki left behind at the USJ to ensure you will escape capture? Tell me."
"A lot." Gareth replied, continuing to play his submissive role to Overhaul as he clenched his hand, internally fighting the emotions of anger he felt towards the yakuza leader.
"Exactly. This is what I'm doing right now." Overhaul said as the walls in the underground hallway shook again. The yakuza looked up at the ceiling, letting out a sigh, "It's so noisy. Are those guys really doing their jobs?"
"I don't want to say it." Kurono said, "But it's over for the Hassaikai."
"As long boss and I are here, the Hassaikai won't die. Most of the underlings follow him and don't understand my thinking. Even though I'm the one who respects the. boss' will the most. As long as we have this finished product and the serum, we can bloom again." Overhaul assured him him, holding two small rectangular cases. Putting them back in his pocket, the yakuza leader continued, "This incident will also become a good story for the fanatics. 'A drug heroes are afraid of'. It sounds like something they'd like. They'd finance it happily."
"It will be just like what happened with the League after Stain was caught." Gareth muttered under his breath. He wasn't quiet enough, though as Overhaul managed to overhear him.
"I see you already noticed this similiarity yourself. Once this raid will end, it will become the talk of the town for the villains out there just like your organization became the talk of the town after you wasted the potential of the Hero Killer." The yakuza leader said, narrowing his eyes the three members of the League as he proceeded to distance himself from them with Kurono and Eri, "It's time for you to go to work, transfer temps."
Toga beamed, licking her lips, "Okay."
"Leave it to us, Overhaul." Twice added, deepening his voice to make himself sound more determined.
"We'll do our best." Gareth added his own part as well as he looked at Eri. The girl was looking at him with a terrified pleading look on her face. He smiled at her, trying to reassure her everything will be fine.
"You better." Overhaul told them, not interested in seeing them fail as he turned away from them and focused himself on the hallway ahead of him, Kurono and Eri and his task of getting out of here, "Mimic should be in the control of the walls right now. It should make your job easier as it should make us harder to catch by the heroes."
"Alright." Gareth voiced his understanding of it, making a mental note out of it as a wall was created behind Overhaul, Kurono and Eri, separating them from Gareth, Twice and Toga. The black haired boy assumed it must have been Mimic's job. He shifted his gaze to Twice and Toga, "Okay. Let's split up. We'll meet at this place in several minutes.
Toga nodded in understanding, "Okay."
"Understood." Twice saluted, "I don't get it. Can you tell me again?"
"Let's go." Gareth said. He wished he could talk about something else with Toga and Twice right now such as taking care of Overhaul and doing something about Eri, but he knew he couldn't bring it up right now as there was a high possibility Mimic would overhear them right now. If he was controlling the walls right now and just created a wall to separate Overhaul, Kurono and Eri from the three members from the League, there was a great possibility that he was looking at them right now and would overhear everything they would say to each other.
The group of three villains exchanged glances with each other and parted ways in their own directions a moment later after Gareth asked Twice to do something for him, intending to do their job or at least make the yakuza think like they were doing it, before they will meet at this place again some time later. After parting ways with Toga and Twice, Gareth took his mask from his shoulder and put it over his face as Mimic created a wall behind him.
Gareth silently walked through the hallway, having split up from Twice and Toga about ten minutes ago as he proceeded to make his way forward himself. The masked villain could hear the creaking and groaning of the walls as Mimic trapped the heroes in a living maze. He was rather fortunate right now as he didn't come across any heroes in this living maze for now. He knew he couldn't allow this to lower guard his as he knew a group of either heroes or the cops could appear in his view at any moment.
All the sounds suddenly stopped and it got Gareth's attention as something on the back of his head was telling him it didn't happen without a reason. The black haired boy stopped in his tracks, raising his fists as red energy started to circle around them. His worries turned out to be correct as blond young man in a cape appeared out of the wall in front of him. Gareth didn't know his name. He knew he saw his face before, though. He must have seen at him as the U.A Sports Festival a few years back with Izuku.
"The Mask?" The hero's eyes widened at the view of him. He narrowed his eyes at the masked villain as Gareth stared at him silently, "It means the League is here too? What are you doing here? Are you working with Overhaul?" He clenched his hand, "Are you villains from the League helping him hurt the girl?"
"What?" Gareth asked him as he glared at him underneath his mask, the thought of him thinking he was okay with Overhaul abusing Eri making him feel angry on the inside, "Do you really think we would agree with him hurting a child to accomplish his goal? Me and my friends hated the way he was treating her since he told us how he makes his bullets. We may be villains, but we're not complete monsters."
"If you hated what he was doing to her, then you wouldn't just stand there and let it happen. You would actually try to do something to save her from Eri if you cared about her safety." The hero pointed out as he pushed himself into charge towards Gareth, intending to take out the Mask before going back to his main task of finding Eri.
"What?" Gareth repeated himself from a few seconds ago, feeling more anger go through his body as he readied himself to face this hero. Whatever his name was, "Do you really think we did nothing to help her? We did everything we could to her in our situation and were more than glad to give her the most comfort she received in all of her life!"
He didn't receive any answer from this unknown hero as the blond haired young man let himself fall into the wall, disappearing within. Gareth's shook his head, realizing falling into the walls and coming out of them must have been this hero's Quirk. Realizing fighting this hero in a tight hallway like this would just be foolish of him and would just result in him getting caught, Gareth quickly turned around and pushed himself into run.
As Gareth continued to distance himself from this part of the hallway and proceeded to make his way towards the turn ahead of himself, he couldn't shake of the feeling that he saw this hero before. He knew he had seen him on the U.A festival with Izuku. It was the last festival they watched together. He just couldn't recall his name. Luckilly, he didn't have to think for long as he managed to recall his name just a second later.
This hero or rather hero-in-training name was Mirio Togata. His Quirk was called Permeation. When activated, it allowed everything and anything to slip through him. His Quirk was a bit different now, though as his clothes didn't fall off his body right now. Gareth remember it happening as it made him and Izuku incredibly flustered when they saw it happen. His Quirk must have evolved since then. The confirmation of what his Quirk was only motivated Gareth to reach the turn from this hallway quicker.
He reached the turn a second later and passed it, intending to put his plan into action. Unaware of what the masked villain was planning, Mirio exploded from the floor a few seconds after Gareth passed the corner. Not having enough time to defend himself or block his firm punch, Gareth was punched right in the face by Mirio and brought to the floor as Mirio glared down at the villain underneath him.
"You may have gotten away from facing the consequnces of your actions so far, but it ends now! You won't get away this time!" Mirio screamed as soon as he set his eyes on the villain underneath. His eyes widened in suprise a second later as Gareth began to fall apart. It didn't took him long to realize it must have been one of Twice's clones, "A clone? This means Twice is here as well?"
"Yes. He is." Gareth's voice sounded in front of him as the real Gareth appeared in front of him in the blink of an eye.
Not having enough time to get away from him, Gareth swung his red energy covered fist at Mirio and punched him right in the face as nothing remained of his clone. Mirio stumbled backwards, feeling a bruise forming on his face as he found himself becoming dizzy by how strong and firm this punch was. Gareth brought his fist closer to himself. He didn't have enough time to form enough red energy around his fist to do his super move, but it was still a firm punch.
"You know. I remember seeing you in TV. Lemillion, right?" Gareth asked as he recalled something else after switching places with the clone he asked Twice to form of him before parting ways with him and Toga. He recalled what Mirio's hero name was, "I must say. Nice name. Definitely more creative than mine. You're planning to save millions of lives by your work of a hero, huh?"
"Yes." Mirio confirmed, slowly gaining back his senses from the firm punch he had just gotten from Gareth, "I'm planning to save this many people from harm. I'm planning to save them from people like you."
"People like me?" Gareth asked him, the eyelids of his mask showing two question marks, "It's funny coming at you when all you heroes do is just throwing your fist at everyone you consider a villain. Even All Might was acting like this during his Era of Peace and he was supposed to be a hero that saves everyone. You heros never care if there was a reason why a villain did what they did and only care about collecting cheers from everyone for defeating a villain. Tell me. What about people like me and the rest of the League? Are we not considered worthy in your eyes? You're planning to save million lives, right? Does that not include a girl who was abused by her mother for something she did when her Quirk manifested and had no control of? Does that not include a mentally ill man who had his live ruined by a single mistake which wasn't even his fault and had to turn to crime to keep himself alive? Were they excluded from the list of people who deserved saving? Did they deserved to be ignored to the point that they became villains?"
Gareth never received the answer from Mirio as Mimic ended their conversation before it could escalate by putting a wall behind them. Not wasting any time, Gareth let out a sigh into his mask and pushed himself into run forward himself, making sure to let Mimic know to take him towards where Toga and Twice were right now as he doubted he will reach their assigned meeting place after the maze Mimic had created out of the hallways. Good thing his plan of using his clone as a decoy to mistake his opponent worked again otherwise getting away from Mirio would be much harder.
Mirio regained his senses just a second later and looked ahead of himself, seeing Gareth was nowhere to be seen right now as a wall was placed between them. He knew he could go after the masked villain, but he knew he already took enough of his time. More time than he had expected. He knew he had to focus on finding Eri. He pushed himself into run and ran into wall next to him right after. As he continued his search for Eri, the words Gareth told him before they parted ways remained on the back of his head no matter how many times he tried to push them out. He thought about the pain he heard in Gareth's voice and how it became more evident in it the further the masked villain went into his short monologue to him.
Gareth ran as fast as his legs could carry him as he proceeded to make his way forward himself, hoping either Toga or Twice will appear in his view at any second right now. He didn't have to look for them for or rather for Toga long, though as Toga appeared in his view a few seconds later. From the way her clothes were disheveled, Gareth assumed she must have recently used her Quirk and had to take them off. Whatever happened. He was glad he made it here now and not earlier otherwise it would result in a really awkward situation to him.
Toga smiled at him as soon as she laid her eyes on him, waving her hand, "Hi Gakkun~!"
"Toga-chan." Gareth nodded at Toga as he stopped in front of her, "Is Twice with you?"
Toga shook her head, "Nope. I was about to ask you about Jin-kun myself."
"Alright. Let's look for him together." Gareth said as Toga nodded in agreement, "Come on. We gotta hurry. I stumbled upon a hero a few moments ago and he is not someone you want to face in a tight hallway like this?"
"Why?" Toga wanted to know.
"His Quirk allows him to run through the walls." Gareth explained as Toga nodded in understanding, finding this explanation to be everything she needed to know about the hero Gareth had encountered.
"...This is bad. It's bad. I'm gonna split…!" Twice's voice echoed behind them as Gareth and Toga immediately forgot their conversation and saw Twice crouching down on the floor, holding his head painfully as a half of his mask was torn off.
"Jin-kun." Toga whispered to herself in worry for Twice.
"Twice." Gareth whispered to himself, feeling them same way about Twice as Toga. They exchanged glances with each other and nodded, knowing there was something they had to do about it. Not wasting any time, they pushed themselves into walk towards him.
"I'm gonna tear apart!" Twice shouted to himself, tightening his grip around his head as as Toga pulled out a handkerchief and wrapped it around the part of his mask which was torn off. Twice's eyes widened underneath his mask as he looked up, seeing Toga crouching down in front of him.
"I know you gotta be hurting." She told Twice, putting her hands on his cheeks to make sure he will look at her, "You're the one who feels the most responsible for what happened to Origami-chan, Big Sis Magne and Compress and it's getting you down, but you've got to be a good bad guy and power through so we can do what we came here to do ok?"
"Wifey..." Twice whispered to Toga in a tearful tone.
Gareth put his hand on Twice's shoulder, causing Twice to turn around to look at him, "Twice."
Twice shifted his gaze to Gareth as Gareth called out for him, "Gakkun..."
"...What happened to Origami, Magne and Mr. Compress was not your fault." Gareth began, keeping his hand on Twice's shoulder as he wanted to make sure Twice will hear everything he had to say to him, "You brought Overhaul into our organzation as you thought this would help our organization expand and grow stronger. You couldn't have predicted what happened. If there is only one person to blame for what happened to Origami, Magne and Mr. Compress, then it's Overhaul and Overhaul only. What happened during our first meeting with him was not your fault and me and Tomura-kun have never blamed you for it as we knew you meant well."
"Bro..." Twice whispered to Gareth, feeling tears forming in his eyes at his and Toga's words as Gareth patted his back in a comforting manner. He shifted his gaze between them with a grateful look on his face, the knowledge of the League not blaming him for getting them into this situation the first place meaning more than anything to him, "I-I thank you."
"You're welcome." Gareth smiled at him underneath his mask, offering him another comforting pat on his shoulder, "We're friends, right? We have to help each other."
"Yeah." Twice nodded at him, "Me friends with you? Or her? Get away from me!"
"I know what what will make you feel better Jin." Toga said as Twice and Gareth looked at her curiously, "I'm getting sick and tired of being told what to do, so let's do things our way, what do you say?"
"I'm in!" Twice immediately nodded at her suggestion, his expression litting up at her suggestion, "This is stupid! Can we do something else?"
Toga looked at Gareth questioningly, "What about you Gakkun? What do you think about it?"
"Let's do this." Gareth nodded, "With everything that's going on around us, there's no point in sticking with our submissive behavior for any longer."
"Great." Twice smiled at him, "Can you talk them out of this?"
Toga smiled at Gareth, "That's our Gakkun."
Gareth looked at Toga questioningly, the eyelids of his mask displaying two question marks, "What do you have in mind, Toga-chan? I assume you already have something planned if you asked us about this."
"Oh, I do have something in mind~. This little asshole from earlier is currently in control of the walls, right? He always seemed to get so angry whenever we didn't respect the yakuza. How about we finally tell him what we think about his organization?" Toga explained her plan to them, her smile refusing to leave her face as she pointed upwards at the ceiling. Twice and Gareth exchanged glances with each other and nodded at Toga. All three of them wasted no time and jumped to their feet.
"Now I understand why the Yakuza is dying out!" Twice shouted, looking up at the ceiling as he threw his arms up.
Gareth nodded in confirmation, the eyelids of his mask showing mocking emoticons, "I couldn't have put it better myself, Twice! Looks like Mr. Compress and Mustard were right about you all along! You really are relics of the past and deserve to be left in history books!"
"Yeah they really are hopeless losers! Cuz your real leader is a bedridden old man, I can't imagine anyone more worthless that!" Toga grinned widely, keeping her hands on her cheeks. Their words seemed to hit the nerve in Mimic as raged loudly in the walls. It didn't stop the three villains from the League from going further with their insults, though.
"Big Bro Irinaka sure gets mad easily!" Twice cheered.
"Wimpy guys are the most short-tempered." Toga stated, her grin refusing to leave her face as she was making the most of this moment.
"Hey Mimic! You know what's the funniest part about our cooperation?" Gareth asked, feeling a smile slowly forming on his face. It only grew wider the more words he uttered to the member of the yakuza as he finally allowed himself to say everything he thought about him, "It's the fact how easily you thought we were really going to work with you after how submissive I acted around you and Overhaul! At first, it wasn't my plan as I thought acting like this would be to suspicious, but I found myself to be wrong after seeing just how well it worked and changed my plans! You really were foolish enough to fall for my submissive behaviour without any suspicion!"
Gareth's words seemed to hit the last nerve in Mimic as a hole opened up under him and his fellow villains from the League. All three of them fell through the hole and started falling to the room below them. Mimic continued to rage, yelling about making Gareth, Toga and Twice for trying to make a fool out of his organization as Gareth, Toga and Twice didn't thought of his words and continued to yell various insults at him. The three villains from the League landed on the floor in the hallway below them shortly after. It didn't stop them from directing more insults towards Mimic, though.
"Wow! You really need to take a chill pill!" Twice shouted, pushing himself back on his feet as the ground underneath the walls started shooting around the place.
"Getting this angry about such little things will get you nowhere!" Gareth added, "To be honest it's making me dislike you even more and everything you and your behaviour reminds of someone I greatly despise!"
"Wimpy guys always want to hide how weak they are. They want to make themselves look strong, so they look down on others from above." Toga added as she glanced at Twice and Gareth questioningly, "Organized crime guys. They're lame, huh?"
Twice nodded in agreement, "They're the lamest of the bunch!"
Mimic screeched out of rage again as Gareth, Twice and Toga continued to allow themselves to enjoy this moment and continued to insult him however they wanted. The ground around them stopped moving a few seconds later, making them take a pause in whatever they were doing right now in order to make themselves certain if they thought what happened had really happened. They got their confirmation just a second later as Mimic in his human real form fell down to the ground.
Gareth wasted no time and interacted with him for one final time, "Sorry! This is where our cooperation ends!"
"Bye!" Toga and Twice waved at him mockingly as Mimic fell out of their view.
Toga stretched her arms above her head with a satisfied look on her face, "This was so much fun!"
"Man! This was just what I needed!" Twice nodded in agreement, giving his fellow villains a thumbs up, "This was stupid! Why did we do this?"
"It was definitely fun." Gareth agreed with them, having definitely enjoyed the last few moments.
Toga shifted her gaze between Gareth and Twice, "Come on, you two. Let's get out of here."
"I'll be right behind you, Toga-chan." Twice nodded in agreement, "Can we stay here instead? I like it here!"
"You two go without me for now." Gareth said as Toga and Twice looked at him questioningly, "There's something I need to take care of before we will leave this place once and for all. Don't worry. I won't get caught. I'll catch up with you as soon as I can."
Toga and Twice nodded at him understanding, realizing why Gareth wanted to split up from them just a second later as there was still one matter he had to take care before they leave Shie Hassaikai. After both of them wished him their good lucks in what he was planning to do right now, the three villains from the League parted ways and went in their own directions. Toga and Twice headed towards the exit and Gareth headed in the opposite direction, intending to take care of something he knew he had to take care of.
Mirio Togata slowly limped along the hallway, leaving a trail of blood behind him as he did his best to keep himself on his feet, despite the injures he had substained during his fight with Overhaul. The blond haired young man knew he could't allow his wounds to get the best of him right now and knew he had to do everything in his power to keep himself on his feet. He had to take Eri to safety and his wounds were not going to stop him from accomplishing his task.
He gritted his teeth, feeling his vision becoming more blurry with each passing second as tears formed in his eyes at the thought of everything that happened for him to get to this point of taking Eri to safety. His tears became more apparent for him and his eyeslids when the images of what happened to his teacher Sir. Nighteye flew through his mind. He shook his head as soon as those images flew through his mind, knowing he couldn't allow them to get the best of him. Not right now.
The blond haired young man put his right hand on the wall next to him, hoping it will make it easier for him to drag himself and Eri into safety. His left hand held Eri's hand as Eri slowly walked behind him, following him towards whenever he was taking her right now. Unfortunely his plan of keeping himself on his feet by having his hand on the wall did not work as his body couldn't take it anymore and he fell on the floor. His left hand fell out of Eri's grasp when it happened.
Mirio slowly pushed himself up from the floor, trying to get himself back on his feet as he begged his body to allow him to stand up and finish his job. Unfortunely, his body refused to listen to him no matter how many times he tried to push himself back on his feet. Itt wasn't long, a few seconds to be exactm until he realized he was too weak to stand up right now and his body was not going to work with him, no matter how many times he'd try to.
"Eri." He called out a second later as he clenched his hand, feeling angry with himself, "...Hide yourself and wait. Dozens of people are acting to try and save you! Eri, you'll be fine…"
He didn't receive any answer from Eri as Eri remained where she stood, silently looking down at him with a guilty look on her face. The girl refused to give him the answer he was waiting for or move from where she stood as she couldn't help but ask herself one thing out of guilt she was feeling right now. All those people were risking their lives for her and all of them got hurt in the process? Why? Why were they risking so much for someone like her?
"...Someone else is about to die because of you! Is that what you want?! Eri!" Overhaul's voice echoed from the room where she and Mirio saw him for the last time as Eri gasped in horror at the sound of this voice.
Eri felt tears forming in his eyes as she stiffened where she stood at the sound of Overhaul's voice and the words he had just uttered to her. She shook her head to herself as more guilt began to fill her body. She didn't want more people to die because of her. She already had caused enough harm to other people in her short life and she didn't want more people to get hurt because of her.
It was when Gareth flew through her mind. She thought about all the times he comforted her and told her that she was not a curse. Eri let out a whimper, her eyes watering up as she was left in an internal debate with her feelings. Gareth constantly told her that she was not a curse and yet so many people were getting hurt right now. All of it was happening to these people because o fher. It could mean only one thing and she knew it.
She bit her bottom lip, trying to stop herself from letting out another whimper as she knew what she was about to do now would go against everything Gareth told her since he started looking after her. Not wanting anyone else to get hurt because of her, she pushed herself into walk towards Overhaul's voice, intending to put an end to all this harm to other people as Mirio's pleads not to do it fell deaf on her ears.
"...Eri?" Eri's eyes shot open at the sound of this voice. She knew it's wasn't Overhaul right away. It voice was much gentler than his. It wasn't Mirio either. She immediately realized this voice belonged to. She looked ahead of herself and saw Gareth standing in front of her. She immediately recognized him even if his face was covered by his mask right now. It wasn't covered for long, though as he took his off his face and attached it to his shoulder as soon as she laid her eyes on him.
"Gakkun!" Eri cried out at the view of the person she knew was not going to hurt as she pushed herself into run towards Gareth, having completely forgotten what she was doing before setting her eyes on him. Gareth got himself on his knees as Eri rushed towards him and wrapped her arms around him. The black haired boy gently hugged her back, not wanting to do anything to scare the girl more than she already was.
"E-Eri! Get away from him!" Mirio shouted at the view of Eri rushing into Gareth's embrace, trying to push himself back to his feet as he immediately thought Gareth was going to do something to Eri.
"No!" Eri cried out as she realized Mirio was going to attack Gareth, despite his wounds if he will get himself back on his feet, "Don't hurt Gakkun!"
"W-What?" Mirio looked at her with a suprised look on his face, "Eri. He's dangerous! He's a villain!"
"He's not dangerous!" Eri shouted, refusing to let go off Gareth as she wanted to feel safe in his hands again, "He took care of me! His hands were kind! He told me I'm not a curse! He promised to keep me safe from Kai!"
Mirio looked at Gareth with suprise written over his face, "W-What? Him?"
"What? Suprised a villain can have some human decency in him to look after an abused girl?" Gareth replied dryly as he released Eri from the hug and looked behind her at Mirio, "I know this may come off as a giant suprise to you, but not all villains are complete monsters, you know? Can't say I'm suprised by you having this kind of mindset, though. This kind of mindset just makes your job easier as all you need to do is lock someone you catch away and forget about them. Right?"
Mirio stayed silent, not replying to Gareth's words as Gareth shifted his attention back to Eri, knowing he won't get anything else from him right now. He put his hands on her shoulders as Eri looked at him with a tearful scared look on her face. Gareth looked straight into her eyes, seeing the trust she had in him in them and let out a sigh. He lowered his gaze to the floor, letting out a deep sigh as he debated with him how he should act in this situation.
He nodded to himself, having just decided what to do in this situation. As much as he wanted to take her with him and introduce her to the rest of the League as he knew the members of it like Origami or Magne or Mr. Compress would do their best to look after her, he knew it would be too dangerous to get her involved in his lifestyle and it would leave her in a constant danger. Eri had already suffered enough in her short life and he didn't want to put her in more danger. It was when the promise he made her a few days ago flew through his mind. He promised her that he will keep her safe from Overhaul and now he knew it was time to keep his word.
"Can you stay with him Eri?" He asked Eri, removing his hands from her shoulders as he got up from his crouching position, "There's something I need to do."
Eri looked at him with a nervous look on her face,"Wh-What are you going to do?"
"Remember the promise I made you a few days ago after I introduced Toga and Twice to you?" Gareth asked as Eri nodded at him, showing him she had remembered about this promise, "I'm going to keep my word. I'm going to make sure he won't hurt you anymore."
"Gakkun." Eri whispered his name in concern as Gareth pushed himself into walk and walked past her and Mirio.
"M-Mask." Mirio called out for Gareth, earning the black haired boy's attention.
Gareth stopped in his tracks for a few seconds, "Yeah?"
"Y-You're a villain." Mirio brought him to say what he wanted to say as he wanted to know one information from the villain he had a less pleasant encounter earlier. The interaction he had with the Mask earlier flew through his flew as he asked him. Was everything he said about the League trying to help Eri true?, "Why are you helping her?"
Gareth looked over his shoulder at him as he proceeded to make his way towards where he suspected Overhaul to be right now, "If there's one thing I hate more than the hero society, it's child abusers. I know how it feels like to have an abusive parental figure and I wouldn't wish it to most people, especially to someone her age. To be honest I've been stopping myself from doing something to Overhaul ever since he introduced me to her when he was explaining where his drug comes from to me."
Gareth turned away from Mirio and walked away from him, not allowing him to give him any answer to his words he knew he had to hurry because he doubted he had much time right now. All of his attention was focused on finding Overhaul and fulfilling his promise to Eri right now and he was not going to shift it to something else until Overhaul will be defeated. He was completely unaware that Eri had followed him.
The black haired boy continued to make his way along the hallway for the next several seconds until he stumbled upon a hallway leading into one room in his way, suspecting it was his destination from the noise coming out from it. He stopped in the doorway, allowing himself a to take a good look at the room or rather what was left as his suspicious turned out to be correct as he immediately saw Overhaul inside the room.
He noticed something new about him right away. The yakuza leader had an extra set of arms sticking out from behind his back and all of his arms looked different right now. If Gareth was honest with himself, all of Overhaul's arms looked like they had a shell of some sort covering them right now. He didn't ask himself where he got those extra arms from, though as he knew there was no time to wonder about it.
It wasn't long until Gareth noticed someone else in the room as Overhaul wasn't alone in this room right now. Izuku was in the room as well and was wounded from the looks of it because a spike was sticking into his leg. Gareth couldn't help himself and let out a sigh at the view of his friend as soon as he laid his eyes on him. He really should have expected him to participate in this raid.
Gareth clenched his hand at the view of his friends, wishing he wasn't here right now because of how their last meeting went. He didn't dwell on this for long, though as he knew he could allow his friends presence to affect him and make him abandon his task. He had a promise he needed to fulfill and nothing was going to stop him from making sure Eri will be freed from Overhaul and everything he was putting her through.
"Overhaul!" He called out for the yakuza leader, making sure his attention will be on him as he shifted his gaze from Izuku to him.
Izuku Midoriya's eyes snapped open as soon as Gareth's voice rang through his ears, having immediately recognized this voice as the voice of someone he was rather familiar with. He looked over his shoulder and saw his friend standing in the doorway to the room. The green haired boy held his breath at the view of his friend as he couldn't believe he was seeing him again. He was made aware of his presence in the Shie Hassaikai headquarters after the defeat and capture of Mimic and was silently hoping he would get a chance to encounter him, but he did not expect this to happen this soon.
His friend looked almost the same as the last time he saw him when the League attacked the summer camp. The only differences in his current appearances was that Gareth wasn't wearing his mask and that his hair may have been a little longer now. He must have started outgrowing it again. He still had some road in outgrowing it ahead of him if he wanted his hair to be as long as it was back in junior high, though.
"Mask. Perfect timing." Overhaul said coldly, pushing Izuku out of his thoughts regarding Gareth as Gareth stepped into the room and moved towards him and Izuku. Izuku tensed up a bit, knowing he will have to face his friend if Gareth came here to help Overhaul, "Glad you could make it. Take care of this annoying brat right now. You villains from the League will finally make each other useful in some way."
"No." Gareth shook his head at Overhaul's demands, refusing to follow his orders as he knew he could finally stop his submissive behavior towards him and share his true feelings with him, "I'm not here to help you. I didn't come here for it. I came here because I made a promise to someone and I'm going to fulfill it. I'm doing what has to be done. I'm getting rid of you."
Overhaul narrowed his eyes at Gareth, his eyes becoming filled with killing intention as soon as the black haired boy uttered those words as he became aware of Gareth's intention, "I see you've made your choice. You've chosen betrayal in the end. You decided to forfeit the opportunity for cooperation between our organizations that you and Shigaraki had discussed during our meeting."
"Work? With you?" Gareth glared back at him, the hatred he felt towards the yakuza leader for everything he did to his associates from the League and Eri filling his eyes, "The League never intended to work with you. Not after what you did. Don't even get me started on the audacity of yours to ask us to give you Origami after what you did to her. The League's submissive behaviour was just an image we put on ourselves to make sure you won't suspect anything and it worked better than we have expected."
"I see. This is how it is." Overhaul nodded in understanding as Izuku looked at Gareth with a questioning look on his face. The green haired boy didn't know why but he felt something about his friends tone after he mentioned Weaponsmith. The amount of anger and hate he heard in Gareth's tone when talked about something Overhaul did to her was large, "You disappointed me. I though you were someone more sensible. You allowed your childlish grudge against me caused by something that I was forced to do by one of your associates to ruin everything for your organization and went against everything you have told me during our second meeting."
"I didn't went against my words as I never meant them in the first place. The more time I spent with you and the more I learned about you, it only reinforced my belief that the League would not work with you. Abusing a child to get closer to your accomplishing your goal? What kind of a monster does something like this? Even my organization wouldn't have such a thing!" Gareth replied as he stopped next to Izuku, standing with his friend side by side and took his fighting stance, beginning to prepare himself to go against Overhaul, "Right now I'm going to do what any sensible person would do in this situation and make sure you will get exactly what you deserve! I'll make sure Eri won't suffer because of you for any longer."
"Very well." Overhaul nodded at him, his glare not leaving his face as his desire to kill Gareth became more apparent and visible as he was more than prepared to face him and Izuku, "Just so you know. What will happen to you in the next few minutes is entirely your fault. You should have put childlish grudge aside and do your job. My goals would have made a better job for Quirkless people like you and yet it did not stop you from going against me."
"Gakkun..." Izuku began to say to Gareth in a mixture of shock and relief as he couldn't believe this was really happening. Gareth was going against Overhaul and was going to fight him along with with him right here right now. His friend was going to help him save Eri from him. A smile began to form on his face at the thought of this.
"Not now. Now let's just take care of this bastard and save Eri from him." Gareth replied, feeling how red energy started to circle around his hands after he put his mask back over his face. As soon as his mask covered his face, the eyelids of it displayed two skulls. It meant only one thing. Gareth was not going to hold himself back during his fight with Overhaul.
Izuku smiled at his friend, waking himself up from his shock as determination began to fill his body. He wasted no time and pulled out the spike from his leg. He took his fighting stance to prepare himself to face Overhaul along with Gareth right after, "Okay. Let's get this done."
"Gakkun..." A tearful voice sounded behind Gareth and Izuku.
Izuku looked over his shoulder at Eri, "Eri...?"
"Eri? What are you doing here?" Gareth asked, having shifted his attention to Eri as soon as her voice rang through his ears.
"I-I didn't want you to go." Eri stuttered out.
"Eri. You're here. Good." Overhaul said, pleased by the sight of Eri walking into the room, "You made the right choice. It's easier to be hurt yourself than to have others get hurt for you, huh? Don't let more people suffer because of your curse."
"I'm not a curse." Eri muttered under her breath, "T-This is what Gakkun always told me..."
Overhaul narrowed his eyes at her, "What was that?"
"I-I'm not a curse." Eri repeated herself, more loudly this time to make sure Overhaul will hear her, "T-This is what Gakkun always told me whenever he looked after me. His hands were kind..."
"This is what you've been doing since you asked me to assign you as her babysitter? You've been filling her head with lies?" Overhaul asked Gareth as Gareth stayed silent and continued to glare at him underneath his mask, giving him the confirmation he was waiting for. The yakuza leader shifted his attention back to Eri and spoke to her again, "Eri. The Mask lied to you. Everything he told you was a lie..."
"Shut up." Gareth's cut Overhaul off before he could continue as his glare refused to leave his face when he uttered those words, "She's not a curse. People shouldn't be treated like their cursed just because of what happened when their Quirk manifested. What happened to her dad was not her fault and she shouldn't be judged for it. She is a person and she deserves to be treated as such! If there one person here who should be called a curse, it's you!"
Izuku kept his eyes narrowed at Overhaul, his determination to defeat Overhaul and save Eri from him refusing to leave his body as he nodded in agreement, agreeing with everything Gareth had just told the yakuza leader about Eri. At the same time, he couldn't help himself and allowed his smile to grow wider at those words as for him his friend sounded more like a hero than a villain right now.
Gareth never got a chance to hear Overhaul's response to his words calling him a curse as the ceiling above him, Izuku, Eri and Overhaul broke and the sudden gust of wing knocked Overhaul away from him and Izuku. Gareth and Izuku looked up, wanting to know what just happened and saw Ochaco, Asui, Katsukame and a Pro-Hero Ryukyu in her dragon form falling into the room through the hole they had just created.
Izuku looked at them with a suprised look on his face, having not expeting to see them here of all places right now, "Ryukyu! You guys!"
Ochaco raised her brow at the view of Izuku, "Deku?"
"Then who was the Deku we just saw?" Asui asked in confusion.
"Toga-chan. Is this your doing?" Gareth asked himself internally, feeling smile forming on his face as he realized what was behind this, "You brought all of the closer to Overhaul to make sure it will harder for him to get away. Smart."
"The Mask? The League of Villains in here?" Ryukyu's widened at the view of Gareth standing next to Izuku, "Deku! Get away from him!"
"No. There's no need for that. He's on our side!" Izuku replied, trying to explain to them Gareth was not working against them in this situation and was instead working with them against Overhaul and was working to save Eri from him.
"Deku..." Ochaco said with a saddened frown forming on her face, knowing what Izuku was trying to do rught now as it remembered her of the conversation their class had with Izuku about Gareth following the revelation of his abusive household. It was when Gareth pushed himself into charge towards something, but much to the mutual suprise of Ochaco, Asui and Ryukyu, Gareth did no move to attack them and instead moved to attack Overhaul.
"Go get Eri!" Gareth shouted to Izuku, running towards Overahaul as he ignored Ochaco, Asui and Ryukyu's presence because he knew he had to keep himself focused on his personal tak right now, "I'll keep him occupied."
"Okay!" Izuku nodded at him and immediately went into action. He pushed himself into run towards Eri, making sure to inform Ochaco, Asui and Ryukyu about something, "Take care of Nighteye! He's badly hurt! Me and Gakkun will take care of the rest!"
Ochaco looked around herself at his words and saw Nighteye laying on the ground with a spike in his stomach, "Nighteye!"
Gareth glared at Overhaul underneath his mask, the eyelids of it proceeding to display two skulls as Overhaul wasted no time and went into action after seeing the masked villain charging towards him. He put his hand on the ground and the ground started to shake for some reason. A spike shot out from the ground before he could reach Overhaul and Gareth managed to dodge it just in time.
The black haired boy felt a small wave of relief go through his body as he knew how lucky he was right now as he would have been impaled on this spike if he hadn't managed to dodge it in time. All those feelings of relied left his body just a second later as he heard something happening behind him. He looked over his shoulder to see what was going on behind him and saw the ground underneath Eri rising up, taking her with it as Izuku had barely managed to dodge a spike directed right at him.
"Overhaul!" The masked villain cried out, realizing what Overhaul was trying to do as he shifted his attention back to Overhaul and saw him rising up from the ground underneath him, going after Eri. Knowing he had to stop him from reaching Eri, Gareth grabbed the nearby pieces of rubble with his red energy and sent every piece of it towards Overhaul. Unfortunely his efforts were for nothing as Overhaul was long gone by the time the rubble collided with the elevation Overhaul created out of ground underneath him.
"Chisaki!" Izuku shouted as he jumped up after Overhaul and Eri. He reached his hand out as he kept telling himself he will grab Eri and it will be for sure this time.
Not wasting any time, Gareth made himself float above the ground with his Quirk and followed his friend, intending to catch up to Overhaul and Eri as soon as possible. As he proceeded to make his way upwards, the effects of all the destruction Overhaul was causing with his Quirk right now were starting to show as many pieces of debris of various sizes were falling down to the ground.
Gareth's eyes widened slightly as he noticed one large piece of debris flying right towards him. He immediately reacted to this and turned to left, managing to dodge it just a second before it would hit him. An idea popped into his mind a second later as he proceeded to make his way upwards after Overhaul and Eri. With his Quirk, he knew he could make a good use of this falling debris once he will reach Overhaul.
He looked around himself, trying to locate the right pieces of debris for this job around him. He didn't want the pieces to be too big because they would make it harder for him to keep himself in the air and he didn't want the pieces to be too small because they wouldn't make much damage to Overhaul. He was searching for something in the middle and he managed to find what he was looking for in a few pieces of debris around him.
He reached his hand out towards the pieces of debris he was interesting in catching, making sure to keep himself floating with his left hand and managed to catch it almost all of them. He failed to catch only one piece of debris and it ended up falling down into the room, but he didn't thought much of it as he knew one piece wouldn't make too big of a difference. With him now holding a few pieces of debris in his right hand, he once again focused himself entirely on reaching Overhaul and Eri.
"Eri!" Izuku's voice calling out for Eri rang through his ears as soon as he shfited his entire attention to his task. He looked up and saw Izuku who was ahead of him in their mutual chase after Overhaul and Eri jumping off a falling piece of debris and reaching out towards Eri, "Eri...!"
It was when something happened. It was when Eri jumped off the rock she was on with Overhaul with Lemillion's cape in her hands. The view of it made Gareth tense up a little and the pieces of debris he was holding with his right hand in order to get to Eri sooner. He gave up on this idea as second later and relief had replaced nervousness as Eri jumped right into Izuku's embrace.
Gareth smiled at himself, gladdened of the sight of Eri distancing herself from Overhaul as Izuku wrapped his arms around Eri, refusing to let her go. The masked villain knew it made his task of freeing Eri from Overhaul easier as she wasn't close to him anymore. He knew he couldn't allow this sight to lower his guard as he knew Overhaul was still dangerous, whether he had Eri with him or not.
"Give her back!" Overhaul demanded from Izuku just a second after Eri's found herself in Izuku's embrace. He broke the part of the rock he was on right now and sent a couple of spikes after Izuku and Eri. Gareth nodded to himself, knowing it his time to step in as he got himself between them.
"No! You won't get anywhere near her ever again you son of a bitch!" The masked villain growled at the yakuza leader, putting his plan into motion as he brought his right hand upwards and a few large pieces of the rubble were lifted up from the ground with his red energy. The rubble crashed into the spikes, destroying them. He looked over his shoulder a second later and saw Izuku and Eri behind him. Izuku smiled at him.
"Mask!" Overhaul growled at Gareth with rage evident in his voice, glaring at him with murderous intentions in his eyes as he sent more spikes towards his targets. This time, however, they were directed at Gareth and Gareth only. He reached out to him to Gareth as he got closer to him, "You really thought you could fool me and try to get away with it! You will pay for your betrayal!"
"Go ahead. Take your shot if you really want to make me pay." Gareth's glare refused to leave his face as the emoticons on his mask remained the same for the last few minutes, "I don't care what happens to me! I stopped giving a damn about it a long time ago! But if you hurt my comrades, my friends, in any way, you will pay the price for it sooner or later!"
"Your comrades? You mean Weaposmith the most? Don't you?" Overhaul asked as Gareth was silenced by him bringing her up, "You seemed protective of her ever since you and Shigaraki came here for the second meeting with me. You care about her? Don't you?"
Gareth clenched his right hand, "Shut up. Don't talk about her."
"I see. You do care about her." Overhaul replied, getting an idea how to mess with him, "You know what? If you really don't care about what happens to you, then how about I'll go after her and finish what I started once I'll be done with you! I'll make sure to let know who made this happen to her in her final moments. I'll make sure it will long and painful. This will be the price of your betrayal."
Gareth refused to answer to Overhaul's promise of killing Origami as he was done with him. He reached his right hand out towards the nearest spike with him and broke the pointy end of it with his Quirk. Not wasting any time, he tossed the spike towards Overhaul, directing it right towards his throat. Seeing it heading towards him, Overhaul moved to the side and managed to dodge it.
It didn't stop Gareth in his assault, though. The masked villain literally shoved himself towards Overhaul, intending to punch him in the face as Overhaul's attention was taken off of him following his dodge of the spike. It worked exactly the way he wanted it to do as he directed a firm punch to Overhaul's face. It didn't knock him out, though. It only slightly knocked him away.
Not wasting any time, Overhaul quickly composed himself as his murderous intention refused to leave his eyes. Because of Gareth being out of his reach right now, he created another spike and sent it right towards him. Seeing it coming towards him, Gareth immediately tried to dodge this. He managed to dodge this, but not entirely as the spike brushed his stomach, wounding him slightly.
"Dammit!" Gareth thought to himself, feeling pain in his stomach after the spike brushed him. After seeing his friend getting lightly wounded by Overhaul, Izuku knew it was time to step in and help his friend. Just like he had just helped him.
The green haired boy swung his leg in Overhaul's direction, creating a huge shockwave across the entire area. He and Eri disappeared from Overhaul and Gareth's view as everything around them was destroyed by the massive shockwave he had just created. All the debris Izuku had just created the shockwave caused by his kick fell down to the ground as Overhaul and Gareth fell down to the ground as well.
Ryukyu looked up at the sky, wondering, "What… just happened?"
"Where's Deku?" Ochaco looked around herself and saw Gareth laying on the ground. Her eyes didn't show much hostility, though. They instead showed suprise and even a sign of concern, "Mask!"
"Dammit. That was close. If I was one inch closer to him, I would be done for." Gareth muttered under his breath as he slowly sat up and put his hand on his stomach. It hurt him but the wound wasn't too severe. He should be able to talk around with it with no problem. He looked around himself and saw Overhaul standing up from the ground. Blood dropped from him as he laid his eyes on the masked villain.
"Stay down. I'll be back for you. I'll get rid of you after I'll get the girl who belongs to me." The yakuza leader told him, reassembling his arm from it's broken state as he shakingly pushed himself into walk. He stopped in front of unconscious Katsukame and touched him. Katsukame vanished from everyone's view and Overhaul looked up, "I need to fulfill the boss' greatest wish. I need you, Eri."
It was when the dust engulfed zone around Overhaul as he started to transform himself into a much larger and more dangerous form. Gareth's eyes widened at the view of it, having finally realized why Overhaul had four arms earlier. He must have somehow fused with someone from the yakuza. Gareth shook his head at the thought of, feeling his distate for this man grow with each passing second as Overhaul finished his transformation, the smoke around him slowly dying down.
His form after fusing with Katsukame was large and quite terrifying to say the least. If Gareth was honest with himself, the yakuza leader looked like a monster straight out of a horror movie or a sci-fi movie. He didn't thought much about it for long, though as he knew not it wasn't the time to make those kind of comparisons. He knew he had to do something. An idea popped into his mind shortly after.
He didn't get to chance to put it into action right away as Overhaul jumped up towards the hole above him. Everything around Gareth started to shake as Overhaul reached the hole leading into the streets. Staying on the ground until the ground stopped to shake, Gareth got himself back on his feet and looked at his right hand. Knowing what to do next, he started to gather red energy around it.
"...So what?" Ochaco's voice brought his attention to the heroes at the scene, "We can't just do nothing! You don't know how the future'll turn out!"
"We can't do nothing after hearing that!" Ryukyu nodded in agreement as Gareth turned away from them, knowing he couldn't allow himself to waste time right now. Especially after the noises of the fight Overhaul and Izuku coming from above. He used his left hand to make himself float and started to make his way towards the hole leading into the streets.
"Mask!" Ochaco's voice rang through his ears as Gareth looked over his shoulder at her. He saw her looking at him with a questioning look on her face. Gareth sensed no hostility in her voice or on her face. What he just heard was just honest curiosity, "Why are you helping us?"
"Ask your wounded friend in the hallway. He'll tell you the answer I gave him when he asked me the same thing." He told her, shifting his gaze to the hole again as he proceeded to make his way upwards, "I can't lose time now. I think I know what to do to knock him out once and for all. Hopefully I will manage to gather enough energy to pull this off after I'll reach him and Midoriya-kun."
The masked villain had no idea whether Ochaco said anything else to him or not. He stopped paying attention to her right after turning away from her. All he was focused on right now was reaching the streets and making his way to Overhaul, Izuku and Eri before the former will do anything to the latter two. He reached the hole after almost a minute and found himself outside.
He looked around himself as soon as he landed on the street, trying to find out where Overhaul, Izuku and Eri were right now. He didn't have to search for long as he saw them above him in the sky. He set his eyes on them, seeing how Overhaul and Izuku were fighting each other. Eri was on Izuku's back, holding tightly into him and a strange yellow spark was coming out of her horn, but Gareth knew he had no time to ask himself about it, though.
He looked at his right hand, seeign how the ball of red energy he had gathered around it was growing larger and larger. He looked up at the fight between Overhaul and Izuku again. Knowing he could make the fact that Overhaul thought he was still underground and had no idea he was coming for him work in his advantage, Gareth wasted no time and made himself float with his left hand.
As he proceeded to make his way upwards, Gareth could see what happened next in the fight between Izuku and Overhaul. Overhaul's new body after fusing with Katsukame broke apart into the pieces and reassembling itself. From the looks of it, Gareth could easily tell Overhaul reconstructing his form. His new form was smaller than the previous one as only his legs and arms were larger in this form.
Gareth didn't allow it himself to think Overhaul was weaker in this form as he knew his strength in arms must have been bigger if he focused himself on making his arms bigger when he was turning into this form. It only made him more quiet and cautious in his approach as he knew being punched by him in this form would mean a certain death for him and it was something he tried to avoid.
As Gareth was neared Overhaul with a large ball of red energy surrounding his right fist, Izuku began his assault on the yakuza leader. The green haired boy directed a series of firm punches towards Overhaul, not giving the yakuza leader enough time to attack him. Gareth could have sworm he saw some colorful sparks coming out of Izuku as he continued his assault on Overhaul. He didn't thought much of it as his attention was entirely focused on finding a good moment to attack Overhaul. Overhaul's new form started coming apart from the blows as each punch knocked him more and more to the ground.
It was when his found himself directly behind Gareth and was left completely unaware of his presence behind him. He started reassembling arms and legs as Gareth nodded to himself, knowing it was perfect time to act. The masked villain raised his right find, intending to knock Overhaul out with it once and for all as Overhaul looked behind him after having finished reassembling arms and legs. His eyes's widened as Gareth did his move right after.
"This ends now! RED FIST OF DOOM!" Gareth bellowed at the top of his lungs as he swung his fist at Overhaul with the red ball energy he managed to gather around it to this point surrounding it.
His fist collided with Overhaul's head, making the yakuza's leader eyes roll to the back of his head as this attack made him lose his consciousness. Overhaul's mask fell off his face as his unmoving body started falling down to the ground like a ton of bricks. As he continued his descend to the ground, Katsukame's body was freed from him and both of them fell down to the ground
Gareth lowered his fist, letting out a deep exhale of relief as he once again was relieved he trained his endurance so much after the USJ otherwise he would be dealing with a headache right now. He looked around himself to see where Izuku and Eri were right now and saw they were nowhere near him right now. He looked down and saw them on the street. They must have made their down after he knocked Overhaul out.
There was something going on with his friend right now as those colorful sparks continued to come out of him. He wasn't the only one. The yellow sparks he saw earlier in Eri were coming out of her as well. Her Quirk must have been going haywire right now as everything seemed too serious right now. Everything suddenly stopped for some reason, the sparks around Izuku and Eri vanishing in the blink of an eye and both Izuku and Eri collapsed on the street, both of them looking utterly exhausted.
Feeling a wave of worry for them go through his body, Gareth started his descend to the ground. As he continued hid descend, he couldn't help but ask himself. What was Izuku's Quirk. He had never seen anything like this before. Everything he had just saw from Izuku during his fight. All those firm punches. All those quick moves. All those sparks. All of it made him what Quirk had woken up in his friend.
He quickly pushed this questions away from now as he landed on the street. He quickly made his way to them and set his eyes on Eri with his mask hiding the worried look he had on his face right now, "Eri. Are you okay?"
"G-Gakkun." Eri slowly looked up at him, letting out a weak, "Y-Yes."
"Good." Gareth smiled underneath his mask, gladdened Eri was finally save as he pointed at Izuku, "Stay with him okay? He'll keep you safe. I need to get going."
"Please. Don't go." Eri pleaded, not wanting him to go.
"I have to go Eri." Gareth told her, his mask hiding the apologetic look he had on his face as the eyelids of his mask displayed the emoticons showing this emotion, "It may be a long time before we'll see each other again so allow me to tell you this. Remember what I always told you. You're not a curse and you never were and will be a curse. Live a nice happy live from now on. Okay? You more than deserve it."
"O-Okay." Eri replied, still feeling sad about him having to go as Gareth smiled at her for one more time and turned away from her and Izuku. Izuku looked up at Garet as Gareth pushed himself into walk, readying himself to use his Quirk. Just as he was about to make himself float above the ground, a familiar voice called out for him.
"Gakkun." Izuku called out for Gareth, having finally brought himself to say something to him.
Gareth stopped in his tracks at the sound of his Izuku's voice and looked over his shoulder at him and Eri. It was when he set his eyes on the heroes behind Izuku and Eri and saw the way they were looking at him. Much to his suprise, their expressions were something completely different from what he was expecting. He was expecting to see them glaring at him with anger and disgust in their eyes. He instead saw them staring at him with utter suprise on their faces. The suprise was especially evident on Ochaco and Tsu's faces. Their reaction reminded him of how Mirio reacted to him back on the hallway.
"...Gakkun. I-I." Izuku struggled to come up with the right words to say to Gareth. From the sound of his voice, Gareth could tell his friend was holding back tears right now. The green haired boy looked at his friend with a mixture of relief and gratitude on his face, feeling how a smile slowly started to spread over his face, "T-Thank you so much for helping me..."
"It was no problem. I did what had to be done. I made a promise to Eri and I intended to keep it." Gareth cut his friend off before he could finish what he was saying, smilling at him underneath his mask. He cut him off before a conversation between them could begin as he knew there was no time for him to start a conversation with Izuku, "Just take good take care of her. Okay? If there is one hero I can entrust her safety with, it's you."
"Gakkun! Wait...!" Izuku didn't got a chance to say anything to Gareth as Gareth used his Quirk to make himself float above the ground and flied away from him and Eri after making sure he was in a decent distance above the ground, distancing himself from them and everyone else.
"Gakkun..." Eri whispered to herself sadly at view of Gareth leaving her and Izuku behind as Izuku looked over his shoulder at her and saw her watching Gareth's departure with a deeply saddened look on her face. All the heroes gathered at the scene watched how Gareth distanced himself from them with their suprise refusing to leave their faces as all of them were suprised by the fact that villain of all people helped Izuku defeat Overhaul and risked his life to keep Eri save.
Izuku shifted his gaze back to the direction Gareth had left towards a second later and looked around himself an an attempt to notice his friend. Gareth was nowhere to seen and found at this point, though. Bitter feelings went through his body as soon as he saw Gareth was nowhere to be seen. He felt happy because they managed to save Eri from Overhaul, but also felt sad. Why was he sad? It was because he didn't get a chance to talk to Gareth, even though Gareth was right next to him.
It wasn't long before his bitter feelings left his body as his feelings of happiness overcame his feelings of sadness as they were growing stronger with each passing second. Why were they growing stronger? It was because of Gareth. The green haired boy felt his eyes watering up when those thoughts flew through his mind. His friend had helped him save Eri from Overhaul and risked his life to save her from him. His friend was still there, despite having joined the League of Villains and All For One out his own free will.
His friend was still a good person deep down inside, despite doing agreeing to do all those terrible things out of his own free will...
His friend still could have been reached...
His friend could have still been saved...
Gareth looked over his shoulder at Izuku and Eri as he continued to distance himself from them with his Quirk. The black haired boy couldn't help himself and let out a sigh at the view of them, knowing how much his sudden departure from the scene must have saddened both of them, especially Eri. The pleading look on her face really showed him she didn't him to go and wanted him to stay with her instead. But he knew he couldn't stay with her because he was on a mission to create a better society. It was a mission he was going to accomplish one way or another. No matter what.
The masked villain shook his head to himself a second later, trying to push those thoughts about Eri and Izuku out of his head and have himself focus on finding Toga and Twice instead as he turned away from them and used his Quirk to lower himself down in order to make himself less noticeable to all the authorties in the area. He looked around himself a second later, trying to find Toga and Twice and to see if they were anywhere near him.
"Gakkun! Over here!" The black haired boy didn't have to search long for Twice and Toga as Twice did the job for him and made his and Toga's location known to him. Gareth looked over to the source of the voice and saw Toga and Twice standing together behind a brick wall of a house near Shie Hassaikai's headquarters. Twice wasted no time and motioned him to come over to him, "Come on! Hurry up, brat! You want us to get caught or something?"
"I'm coming!" Gareth nodded at Twice, letting his fellow villain know he heard his calling as he made his way to him and Toga. He stopped next to them behind the brick wall and exchanged glances with Twice as Toga continued to stare ahead of herself with an awe filled look. Gareth and Twice stared at her silently, waiting for her to break herself out of her awe state.
"...Damn Izuku. Nice." The blond haired girl voiced her thoughts on what just happened, having witnessed the entire fight between Gareth, Izuku and Overhaul from where she stood with Twice. She shifted her gaze to Gareth a second later, "I see you decided not to take Eri-chan with us in the end."
Gareth nodded in confirmation, taking off his mask to reveal his face to her, "Yes. Our lifestyle is too dangerous for her to be in our care. The poor girl already suffered enough in her life. She deserves a peaceful calm life from now on. I would be more uncertain about this choice if Midoriya-kun wasn's here right now. If there is one hero I can trust to take care of her, it's him."
Toga looked at him with a disappointed, but understanding look on her face, "A shame. I was really looking forward to introducing Eri-chan to her new mama. I can already tell she would have loved to be around you and Origami-chan as you would become her new parents."
Gareth pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling blush forming on his face at Toga's teasing, "Toga-chan. Please. Not now..."
"You called your super move Red Fist of Doom during your fight with Overhaul!" Twice gasped excitedly, pointing at Gareth as he cut into the conversation between Gareth and Toga before it could continue, "You're going along with the name I have came up with?"
Gareth shifted his attention to Twice, forgetting about Toga's teasing as he smiled at him, "Of course. I did tell you I would consider it earlier today, haven't it? As you can see, I've considered it over the course of the last few hours and figured out the name you have come up was quite fitting. This is how I will call my super move form now on."
"Awesome! Thank you so much for going along with it!" Twice exclaimed, tossing his arms up in the air to show just how much happy this information had made him, "This name was so shitty! Why did you went along with it!?"
"It was no problem." Gareth put his hand on Twice's shoulder and looked up at him with a smile on his face, "I discovered this move because of you helping me a few days ago and I feel like it would be for the best if you were the one to name it."
Twice smiled back at him as he pointed towards where Izuku was with Eri and everyone else, "What about Midoriya? Aren't gonna to talk with him? You may not get a chance to talk with him again for a while!"
Gareth shook his head, his smile slowly fading from his face at the mention of his friend, "No. It would be too risky of me to talk with him right now. It would just get me caught. This place will be filled with authorities as it is and more of them will arrive here in a few minutes from now on. We need to distance ourselves from this area and contact Tomura-kun and the rest as soon as possible."
"Alright. Let's leave this place!" Toga agreed with him, stretching her arms above her head as she pushed herself into walk away from the scene of the raid, "I can't wait to see everyone again! Those last several days felt so long without them!"
"You can say that again, Toga-chan!" Twice nodded in agreement as wasted no time and followed her, more than eager to go back to the rest. Upon making his way back to the rest of the League, he was planning to have a conversation with certain people, "Do we really have to go back? I don't want to be anywhere near them!"
"I'll be right behind you two." Gareth agreed with this idea as he followed Twice and Toga, "Just like you Toga-chan, I can't wait to see the rest everyone. I want to know how Origami, Mr. Compress and Magne are doing right now after receiving their prosthetic arms as we haven't got a chance to check on them since we left to Shie Hassaikai."
"...Do you have room for two more?" A familiar voice ringing through their ears made them stop dead in their tracks. The group of three villains looked over to the source of it and saw Rappa and Tengai walking towards them.
A smile spread over Gareth's face as soon as he set his emerald green eyes on them, immediately realizing where this was going because he knew there was only one reason why they would approach him, Toga and Twice right now, "Rappa. Tengai-kun. What are you doing here? I thought both you stayed behind in the headquarters."
"Remember the offer you made me a few days ago and asked me about earlier today after our training session?" Rappa asked as Gareth nodded in confirmation, feeling his smile widen as his hopes for this conversation were turning out correct, "I've made my decision. Now with Overjerk finished and captured, I'm going to join the League."
"Great." Gareth smiled at him, gladdened by his choice, "Are you sure about it, though? You don't have to force yourself if you don't want to."
"Yes. I had more than enough time to think about this decision." Rappa nodded at him, assuring him he was certain about his decision as he held his hand out for a handshake, "I just hope we can continue our training."
"Don't worry about it. I can't wait to continue our training." Gareth replied as he took his hand into his and gave it a firm shake.
Rappa's smile widened, shaking his hand, "One more thing about me joining your organization. From now on, I will be waiting for the fight you promised me when you made this offer."
"You don't need to worry about it. The fight you are waiting for will come sooner or later and I'm certain you will have all the fun in the world once it will happen" Gareth smiled back at him. He released his hand from the handshake a second later and shifted his attention to Tengai. He looked at him questioningly, "What about you Tengai-kun?
"Master Overhaul brought me into Shie Hassaikai to look after Rappa and make sure his violent tendencies won't cause any harm." Tengai explained as he held his hand out to Gareth for a handshake, "I intend to continue to do my job, even if it will be for another organization from now on. If he is going to join the League, then you can consider me a member of your organization from now on."
"Alright." Gareth smiled at him as he grabbed Tengai's hand into his and shook it. He released it from his grasp a second later. He shifted his gaze between Rappa and Tengai, his smile refusing to leave his face as he was gladdened the League got two new members out of this entire mess with yakuza, "Rappa. Tengai-kun. Welcome to the League of Villains."
"Welcome, you two. I can already tell both of you will fit right in!" Twice nodded in agreement. He was glad Rappa and Tengai were joining them, despite not being a large fan of the yakuza for what Overhaul did, but he managed to take a liking in both of them over the course of the last few days, "Toss them away, Gakkun! We don't need them!"
"I can already tell Tomura-kun will be happy we didn't came back empty handed." Toga smiled, gladdened Rappa and Tengai were joining them instead of someone else from else from the yakuza. They were the most tolerable members of the Shie Hassaikai in her opinion. If it was someone else from the yakuza, then she wouldn't be so happy at the thought of them joining the League.
"Alright." Gareth turned away from Tengai and Rappa and pushed himself into walk away from the scene, "With this matter settled, we should go. The sooner we distance ourselves from this area, the better for everyone."
Toga, Twice, Rappa and Tengai nodded in agreement and followed him. The group of five villains distanced themselves from the scene as quickly as they could. After distancing themselves from it, all of them stopped for a few minutes to take care of their appearance and make themselves look more civilians and than villains before they will step into the crowds of people on their way to their meeting place with the rest of the League.
After taking off his vest and his mask, Gareth pulled out his phone and contacted Shigaraki in order to fill him about everything. He didn't have to wait long for him to answer his calls and he answered to it only a few seconds later. As he continued to talk with Shigaraki on his phone, the black haired boy took a look at Toga, Twice, Rappa and Tengai. Tengai and Rappa had taken of their mask, leaving their faces visible as they knew it would help them blend in with the crowd of civilians as Toga crouched down in front of Twice. Twice had taken off his villain costume, including his mask as his mental state started showing as Twice clutched his head and began to argue with his other self.
"...To get from the Overhaul to the nearest villains hospital, it's fastest to use the highway. If you'll start making your way towards the highway now, you should be able to reach him in a few minutes." Gareth told Shigaraki over the phone, having his hood on as he made sure to fill him in about everything.
"...Alright. I just told Spinner about this. He's taking me and the rest to the highway right now." Shigaraki replied after a few seconds of staying silent as Gareth raised his brow to himself. He had no idea Spinner knew how to drive. He made plans to ask him about this once the League with reunite, "What about the girl? Did you managed to get her?"
"No. The girl has already suffered enough by Overhaul's hands and taking her into the League would have put her in more danger." Gareth gave him an honest answer.
"I see." Shigaraki replied. There was not a hint of anger in his voice, though. Understanding was more audible in his voice.
"We think the finished products are where they are. Toga-chan watched the police's movements when I and Twice were making ourselves look more like civilians to blend in with the crowd better, so there's a high probability." Gareth replied as he smiled to himself, gladdened Shigaraki was understanding his choice regarding Eri. He looked at Rappa and Tengai when he added a second later, "Don't worry, though. We may have not taken the girl with us, but we're not coming back empty handed."
"Really?" Shigaraki asked in an interested tone, interested to find out what Gareth meant by those words, "What are you bringing with you and the rest?"
"You'll find out once we'll met up at our meeting place. Trust me. You won't be disappointed once you'll find out what it is." Gareth promised Shigaraki he won't be disappointed with the suprise he, Toga and Twice prepared for him and the rest of the League.
"Alright. I'll have to trust you on this one." Shigaraki replied, his interest staying in his tone, "We'll talk later once we'll met up. I need to hang up now. We're getting closer to Overhaul."
"One more thing before you hang up, Tomura-kun." Gareth said, hoping he will stop Shigaraki from ending their conversation as he wanted to tell him one more thing before they will hang up.
"Yeah?" Shigaraki wanted to know.
"Fuck him up for me." Gareth replied.
"Don't worry. This asshole will regret we left him alive by the time we'll be done with him." Shigaraki reassured him. From the tone of his voice, Gareth could easily tell his partner was smilling when he uttered those words.
"Good." The black haired allowed himself to smile at his words. He and Shigaraki ended their conversation a second later. He put his phone in the pocker of his pants and shifted his gaze between Toga, Twice, Tengai and Rappa, "Alright. Everyone. Time to move. Tomura-kun and the rest are on their way to the highway right now and they will take care of Overhaul. Let's go to our meeting place. If we'll leave now, we should reach it before Tomura-kun and the rest."
Toga nodded at him, her eyes not leaving Twice, "Okay. Come on, Jin!"
"Run...!" Twice screamed to himself, clutching the sides of his head as Toga grabbed him by his shoulder and started dragging him along with her. Gareth stepped closer to them and put his hand on Twice's other self, giving him some encouraging words and telling him he will manage to do it as Rappa and Tengai silently followed them. Not wasting any time, the group of five villains started to make their way towards their meeting place with the rest of the League.
The convoy of police vehicles transporting Overhaul and the remaining members Eight Precepts of Death to the hospital for the villains where they would get the wounds they had substained during the raid treated before getting locked up in prison where they will pay the price for their actions drove along the highway in the middle of the city. Everything was going peaceful and without any problem for the convoy and it even seemed like the Pro-Hero Snatch who was assigned to look over the convoy won't have to use his Quirk.
Or at least everything was going without any problem until they reached the middle of the hallway as it was when a truck drove into the hallway from entrance on the left side of it and started driving right in front of the convoy. The police wouldn't have thought much of it and would have just written off as a normal delivery truck if it wasn't for one blue haired young man who was crouching down on top of the said truck.
"What's that?" The driver of the truck transporting Overhaul asked his colleagues through the radio as he saw someone standing on a gray truck in front of them before the doors to the trunk of the truck started opening.
"T-That's Shigaraki Tomura from the League of Villains!" His colleague from the police car on the front of the convoy pointed out in realization, having realized who the young man on top of the truck was only second after laying his eyes on him.
"In shogi, the point is to get the king, right?" Shigaraki asked, grinning underneath his face-hand as the trunk of the truck was opened and Dabi, Origami, Mustard, Mr. Compress and Magne were revealed to be inside.
Dabi looked over his shoulder towards the driver's seat, "Hey, lizard! Stop weaving! I get motion sick."
"Don't call me lizard! The name is Spinner! And you got a problem with my awesome driving skills I learned from gaming?" Spinner shouted from the driver's seat in response, displeased and annoyed by the way Dabi had just called him.
"Just shut up and focus on driving! What are you getting mad for, anyway?" Dabi replied as he shfited his attention back to the police convoy in front of him and the rest of the League.
Spinner tightened his grip on the steering wheel and narrowed his eyes at the road ahead of him, "Is attacking the police really following the will of Stain, who wanted a true hero society?"
"It's a necessary sacrifice, Spinner." Shigaraki answered, his eyes not leaving the police convoy in front of him, "Take care of the driving."
"Now…" Dabi whispered, knowing it was time to begin their little operation as he raised and lit it with flames, before shooting it out at the police car that swerved in front of the truck. His eyes widened just a second later as he looked at the convoy in front of him in a questioning manner, "What's with him?"
The scarred villain put the flames out, turning off his Quirk for a second as he wanted to learn what was going on with his flames right now. He wasn't the only one. The rest of the League wanted to find out the answer to this question as well. It was when all of them saw sand over the police car and saw the Pro-Hero Snatch hanging out of the car, some sand from his arm being the only thing stopping him from falling on the moving road.
"The League of Villains! A gang of evil spirits with a grudge against society!" Snatch spat out in disgust upon laying his eyes on the League of Villains.
"Did he really have to say it so dramatically?" Mustard muttered under his breath, unamused by Snatch's way of talking as he made sure to keep his tone loud enough to let everyone hear what he just said. He had his face covered by his gas-mask as he kept himself prepared for his part in this plan. He just had to wait for someone else to stop the convoy.
Magne shrugged her shoulders, keeping her arms crossed, "I dunno, sweetheart."
"It reminds me of Mr. Compress whenever he talks about his magic tricks." Origami stated, keeping her gloved hand on her sheathed katana.
"Can't argue with you here, Weaponsmith." Mr. Compress chuckled, tipping his hat, "At least when I do it, it's to keep it professional."
Dabi rolled his eyes at them, "Are you really having this conversation right now?"
"A hero! Of course there'd be one." Shigaraki shook his head at the view of Snatch, letting out an annoyed groan as he didn't want to deal with this right now, "Spinner, slow down!"
"On it!" Spinner voiced his understanding of the order and slowed the truck down a bit, inching it closer to the police car.
Once the truck was close enough to the police car, Shigaraki wasted no time and jumped towards it with his hand out as he intended to use his Quirk to decay the inconvenience he and his fellow members of the League stumbled upon in their way. He never reached his target and didn't got a chance to fulfill his intentions, though as he was caught mid-air by Snatch's sand.
"Perfect!" Snatch grinned, holding Shigaraki above the road with his sand to prevent him from doing anything, "If you touch something with all five fingers, your quirk will make it decay, but you won't be able to do that with sand!"
Shigaraki narrowed his eyes at Snatch, growing more tired of him, "Then we're natural enemies."
Dabi let out an amused huff, "He's famous, huh?"
Mustard shrugged, "Are you really suprised about it? The media talk about him and Gareth constantly whenever the subject of villains comes up."
"Shigaraki is trying to disract them." Mr. Compress told Dabi and Mustard as he pulled out a marble and flicked it it onto the road. The marble bounced on the road for a few seconds until it found itself underneath the police car. It was when Mr. Compress snapped his fingers, making it tranform into a large rock. It immediately did it's job, flunging the police car backwards, "Police car gently levitating! No trickery or devices involved."
"Alright. Let's go." Magne said, knowing it was their time to move as she jumped out of the truck. She was followed by Origami, Mr. Compress, Dabi and Mustard as all of them jumped out of the moving truck like it was nothing.
After Mr. Compress took care of the police car on the front of the convoy, Shigaraki shifted his attention to the truck transporting Overhaul. He landed on the front of the trunk and broke the front window before reaching through the broken window, making the driver let out a scream of fear. The blue haired young man grabbed the steering wheel, stirring the truck to fall into it's side. As it happened, the rock Mr. Compress released from the marble and the police car from the front of the convoy crashed throughout the highway, which resulted in all the police cars in the back of the convoy crashing.
Snatch jumped out of the police car from the front of the convoy, holding the driver in his arms and landed on the ground. He looked down at the officer in his arms with a concerned look on his face, "Are you all right?"
"That's right. Heroes end up prioritizing lives." Dabi smirked, standing behind Snatch as his hands lit up with blue flames.
Snatch placed the officer on the ground and shifted his attention to Dabi, "Recently, burnt corpses have been turning up one after another in various places." .
"Oh, are people talking about me?" Dabi's couldn't help himself and allowed his smirk to grow wider at this information, "That makes me happy."
"Have you ever thought about the feelings of those they left behind?!" Snatch demanded to know as he send a sand lion at Dabi. His attack didn't do anything to the scarred villain, though as Dabi wasted no time and used his flames to keep the sand lion away from him. The sand disappeared just a second later as Snatch transformed into marble by Mr. Compress. The marble landed on the ground and rolled next to the unconscious police officer for a few seconds.
"That's hot…" Mr. Compress complained about the heat of Dabi's flames, standing next to Dabi with Origami and Magne as Mustard walked past them, heading towards the crashed police cars from the back of the convoy, "Sand doesn't burn, does it?"
"From what it looked like, he could only make the top half of his body sand, so he'll probably die." Dabi replied as Mr. Compress brushed his clothes.
"Alright, darlings. With him out of our way, let's go to Shigaraki. I just can't wait for the show we're about to put for Overhaul." Magne said as she pushed herself into walk towards Shigaraki.
"I'm right behind you, Magne." Origami nodded in agreement as she followed Magne to Shigaraki. Dabi and Mr. Compress silently followed them.
Mustard stopped in his tracks a few seconds later as he found himself between the crashed vehicles from the back of the convoy. He looked around himself to get to know his situation better and saw the police officers slowly getting themselves out of the vehicles. Knowing it was his time to act, he activated his Quirk and the cloud of purple sleeping gas formed around the vehicles behind the convoy.
The police officers from the crashed cars froze in place as soon as Mustard's Quirk hit them. It wasn't long until all of them collapsed on the ground, finding themselves in a forced sleep as Mustard nodded to himself, satisfied by himself getting his job done. He turned around and pushed himself into walk towards the rest of the League right after. He walked out of the cloud of his sleeping gas a few seconds later, going back into everyone's view.
"What about the rest of the cops?" Shigaraki asked as Mustard made his way to him.
"They're all asleep." Mustard informed him, his gas mask hiding the glare he had directed towards Overhaul as he stopped next to Shigaraki, "Take all the time you need with him. We won't have any interruptions any time soon."
"Good. You did well." Shigaraki nodded at Mustard, offering him some praise for doing his job well as he shifted his gaze from Mustard to Overhaul and kicked the matress Overhaul was restrained on. A oleased grin slowly started to form on his face as he intended to make the most of this moment, "Tell me again who the next leader is going to be."
"Did you come here to kill me?" Overhaul asked with a resigned look on his face, his voice void of any emotion.
"No. I actually thought up something you'd hate even more. Because I hate you. Truly. You're too full of yourself." Shigaraki told Overhaul as he took his face-hand off his face, showing his face to the fallen yakuza leader as Origami, Magne, Dabi, Mustard and Mr. Compress walked over to him. A marble appeared out of thin air as Overhaul's hand was dislocated from his body. Overhaul glanced to the side, setting his eyes on Mr. Compress as Mr. Compress picked up the marble.
Mr. Compress took off his mask and smiled at Overhaul, showing off his new mechanical arm to him, "For the arm."
He shifted his gaze to Magne and tossed the marble to her. Magne started tossing it up and down in her prosthetic arm as a way of showing it to Overhaul as she smiled down at yakuza leader, looking really pleased by what was happening right now.
"What he said." She told Overhaul, her smile staying on her face as she had a pleased look on his face, not even trying to hide just how pleased she was by what was happening to Overhaul right now.
"So I got a hold of this, but they're two boxes. Which one has the finished product?" Shigaraki asked as he pulled out two boxes and opened one of them, revealing it had four bullets inside.
"Give it back..." Overhaul whispered, setting his eyes on the case as Shigaraki closed it and put it away, before putting his attention back to him.
"You know what I think Overhaul? Someone who is so obsessed with erasing Quirks shouldn't have one of their own. Don't you agree?" Shigaraki asked as he put his hand on Overhaul's remaining arm. Overhaul's eyes widened, setting his eyes on his remaining arm in horror as Shigaraki's decay started to consume his arm, "Now. Someone will have to cut it off, because you entire body will turn to dust."
As the decay slowly started to consume Overhauls entire arm, Shigaraki shifted his gaze from the yakuza leader to Origami and nodded his head at her, giving her his permission to do the next step. Origami nodded at him, more than ready to do her own part in this and took off the glove she had on her right hand with her good hand, revealing her prosthetic arm which she had kept hidden underneath it. After making sure Overhaul got a good look at her new arm, she reached for her sheathed katana and unsheathed it. She wasted no time and brought it down on Overhaul's arm, slicing it clean off.
"For my arm." The dark green haired girl said as she glared down at Overhaul with hatred evident in her diamond blue eyes. The hatred in her eyes was something new to her fellow members of the League, but neither of them made a comment about it as they knew Origami had a good reason to hate Overhaul.
"Look at yourself!" Shigaraki shouted in a pleased tone as he threw his arms up as soon after Origami sliced Overhaul's other arm off, "A weak Quirkless loser and all the labors of your hard word belong to me! Let's do our best!" A wicked smile formed on his face and lowered his head to get even a better look at Overhaul's face as Overhaul stared up at him with a look of absolute horror slowly forming on his face, "Now you don't even have a thumb to suck on! You're doomed to watch from the sidelines as your dream falls apart."
Spinner honked the horn in the truck to get Shigaraki, Origami, Magne, Mustard Mr. Compress and Dabi's attention. After making sure his fellow villains from the League had their attention on him, he informed them, "Hey! The cops are coming! We gotta go!"
Magne nodded at the information and shifted her gaze between each member of the League around her, "Guys. Time to bail."
"Yeah. Let's get out of here. We had our fun with him." Mustard agreed as he turned away from Overhaul and started to walk towards the truck. Magne, Origami and Dabi silently followed him, the former two sending Overhaul one last glare at they did so.
"Mister Overhaul. I wish I could say it was a pleasure but that would be a lie." Mr. Compress tipped his hat at Overhaul as he followed Mustard, Magne, Dabi and Origami, leaving Shigaraki alone with Overhaul. Shigaraki looked down at Overhaul, exchanging one last final look with the fallen yakuza leader.
"...Next it's our turn." He told himself a second later, putting his his face-hand back on his face as he turned away from Overhaul and started to walk back to the truck, walking past Dabi, Origami, Mr. Compress, Mustard and Magne in the process.
Dabi put his hands on the back of his head, Origami sheathed her katana, Mr. Compress took off his hat and bowed in a theatrical manner as if he was saying a goodbye to the audience, Magne stretched her arms above her head and Mustard watched him walk past him and the others when Shigaraki walked past every single one of them. It wasn't long before all of them pushed themselves into walk and followed him to the truck.
It was when a loud scream echoed across the highway as Overhaul couldn't take everything anymore and let out a loud scream of pure despair. The members of the League paid no attention to his scream and continued to make their way back to the truck. Shigaraki walked in the middle of the group of villains, with Dabi and Origami walking on his left side and with Mr. Compress, Magne and Mustard walking on his right side.
Saw GOTG 3 and I absolutely loved this movie. James Gunn did delivered. It was definitely the best thing to come out of MCU since No Way Home. Rocket's backstory was so heartbreakingly beautiful and each flashback we have received of him literally made me tear up.
Well. Here we go with the chapter I'm certain many of you have awaited. The raid of the Shie Hassaikai headquarters by the heroes. I'm so happy I finally managed to get this chapter done. It turned out to be way harder to write than I expected and was probably the most time consuming chapter yet (I was listening to Might+U on loop while writing this entire Deku and Mask vs Overhaul section. The fact I rewritten a good portion of it as I wasn't satisfied with the first version of it caused the work on this chapter to last longer as well).
Me getting my hands on Persona 4 Golden didn't help either. I got myself as addicted to it as I got to Persona 5 last year. Kanji is the best character in this game and Nanako in the most precious thing in the world and nothing you will say about either of those things will change my mind. Because of Nanako, I find myself humming "Every day's great at your Junes" from time to time.
Hope it wasn't so bad. See you in another chapter.
