The results are out and the reactions?
"YAAAAAAAAAAHHH!"
There's the answer as boys screamed and girls cheered for joy over it. Some boys even thanked Kikyo especially Ike who called her an angel in a perverted behaviour. Yes among the 3 idiots, he is the most perverted.
At his corner, Ayanokouji observed the cheering when, "Ayanokouji-kun...what did you just do..." Horikita asked staring at him.
Flashback...
(3 days ago before the test)
Ayanokouji was walking past the tennis court looking around and watching the girls play tennis at the same time when he heard a loud voice. "Bring it on you punks!"
It cuts to the back of a random school building where Sudou is being confronted by 4 male students. Their names? Kakeru Ryuuen, Daichi Ishizaki, Kyogo Komiya and Reo Kondou. "That is some outdated thug act." Ishizaki exclaimed. "So lame if you ask me." Reo exclaimed. "Ha! You are pathetic ugly creature." Ryuuen mocked. Insulted by his words, Sudou went to make the first move only to. "Komiya, Kondou!"
The 2 students grabbed his arms locking them and forcing him on his knees in response from the orders of the magenta hair student as from a distance, "Kushida asked me to invite him to her study group but..." Ayanokouji just continued observing as Ryuuen walked to Sudou with Ishizaki standing by his side. "I can't wait to see how many of you will be expelled after the upcoming test. Seeing that big fat zero in your class point status makes it even easier for me!" Already Sudou is too scared to look at his menacing eyes as, "You will be the first..." He then got his finger ready as Sudou expected him to attack him on the eye...

Only to tap his forehead. As a result, Sudou broke free from Komiya and Kondou surprising them as he lunged for an attack with Ishizaki throwing his fist to stop him when, "All of you, stop this at once!"
"!?"
"Again...it's her..." Ayanokouji felt it but this time, "It's warmer than before..." And at the same time, "What do you want?! Stay out of this!" Sudou shouted as the boys stopped and stared at Homani who appeared to have witnessed the scene. "As a student of this school, I cannot allow violence and disorder to slip away. If you guys still insist on brawling and throwing punches, I'm going to call security. You don't want that do you?"
"Ichinose. This isn't a fight. We're the victims here."
"Oh are you sure? It looked to me like you and your lackeys provoked him into it Ryuuen-kun." Honami replied. "If you still keep this up including that charade you just spoke up, I'll report this to the school."
Silence for a brief moment. "Hmph. Hey monkey, I think you'll make a nice toy. One day." Ryuuen then took his leave with his lackeys as Sudou still furious at being victimized by them wanted to fight them but, "Sudou, that's enough." Ayanokouji finally stepped in to prevent further escalations as already, other students passing by have witnessed the scene. As for Honami, she approached them to speak with Sudou. "Listen to me, don't let him provoke you okay?"
"Shut up..." Sudou gritted his teeth and then, "Sorry for the scare! Everything's fine now!" Honami called out to the girls playing tennis and implied to be from her class as, "Ichinose-san arigato!"
"Thanks again!"
"You're the best!"
"Well done!"
After that, "Please refrain from causing trouble to the others okay? See ya!" Honami took her leave leaving Ayanokouji to stare at her.
I felt a wave of positivity blooming in her and being dispersed to others in a way that they trusted her and held her high. Definitely, she's very popular among her peers...
Once she's gone, an angry Sudou went to pick his bag when, "Sudou, you free now? Kushida's in the middle of studying with-"
"Sorry. I've got a club to attend." He replied as he began walking away. "Ike and Yamauchi have shown their willingness to improve on their studies now." Ayanokouji called out to him. "I'm not going anywhere if I started studying from now." He called out back as he left. "Will he be okay on his own?" Ayanokouji thought with silence and concern. "At the same time, my encounter with Ichinose has triggered me again. I still feel like I need the answers to this strange feeling regarding me and her...though I myself am not suppose to have any feelings at all..."
It now cuts to the basketball court in which the basketball club has both male and female members as shown with the basketball practice they're going through. Sudou on the other hand was slightly distracted during practice especially when he caught sight of Horikita watching him.
After practice, he can be seen leaving when, "Sudou-kun. Can I talk to you for a bit?" Horikita was waiting for him as, "Are you planning to leave school for good?"
"Tch. You're so persistent." Sudou replied with annoyance as he wanted to leave no but, "You don't mind not playing basketball anymore?" She asked another question stopping him on the tracks as she approached him and handed him a notebook. "I've summarized the main topics from class in this notebook." He could not believe his eyes as, "I'm teaching you for my sake." She spoke on. "You should study for yours. That way, you can continue playing basketball at this school." She then took her leave leaving Sudou who's still speechless at her care and concern to him.
(2 days before the test)
"I think this is the first time you've ever invited me for lunch Ayanokouji-kun!" A happy go lucky Kikyo exclaimed. "You must have a reason right?"
"One, we're not having lunch because I had mine already. Two, can you keep this between us?"
"Sure! Though I'm a bit disappointed at the first part..."
The plan begins as Ayanokouji and Kikyo peeked at the queue. They watched as students got their meals and soon, Ayanokouji found the perfect candidate. "Ikuzo."
The next scene shows a senior with his free vegetable lunch sitting alone and feeling miserable when, "Excuse me senpai, you're in D are you?" Ayanokouji and Kikyo made their move sitting with him. "Y-Yeah..."
"I see. Wow, that looks pretty nasty despite being free senpai."
"Wh-What do you want from me?"
"I want to consult with you something. Of course, I'll make it worthwhile."
"Consult? What do you want to consult from me?"
"Easy. Do you have the questions from your first midterm 2 years ago? If you have, I want you to give them to me." He looked surprised at Ayanokouji's consult. "Wh-Why are you speaking to me about this?"
"It's simple. Those low in points will have more chance to secure a deal with. Not mention the disgusting lunch you have which is easy enough for me to identify the ones to do the deal." The senpai was surprised by this so, "How much will you pay?"
"10,000 points. That's my limit."
"No way! There's risks in my school life! I'd need 30,000 points at the very least to survive for this month."
"I'm afraid that's not possible for my case."
"Well in my case, no deal then." But that's the signal because Kikyo made her move. "Wait a minute! One of our classmates no, a friend of ours might get expelled! Please..." The senpai was stunned by her charm so, "25,000 points..."
"Nope. 10,000 points."
"Err...20,000 points..."
"10,000 points..."
There was silence from the senpai still feeling pressured so, "15,000 points! I can't go any lower than this..."
"Wakarimashita. It's a deal. In exchange, please include your quizzes from the first term."
"Okay..." The senpai and, "Thank you so much!" Kikyo thanked him and, "For that, I'll pay you 5000 points to add to the payment deal!" This surprised him as, "You were testing me the whole time at the start of the deal?"
"Something like that...at least you never opposed the inclusion of your quizzes from the first term." Ayanokouji replied as the senpai thought a bit on this deal. Finally, "After school, you'll get the goods."
"Very well. I'll pay you now so don't forget."
"Right..." The deal is settled.
Exactly after school...
Somewhere in a park, Ayanokouji and Kikyo are waiting on the bench. "Don't you think it's gonna be okay?" Kikyo asked. "Don't worry, it's within the school rules." Ayanokouji replied. They chatted some more about the old test questions and in less than a minute, Ayanokouji's phone beeped. He fished it out and checked his messages. "Perfect." He took out a piece of paper containing answers from their quiz and made a comparison. Soon enough, "It's the same. Exactly as ours."
"Sugoi! What about the midterms?"
"It's most likely to have the same questions."
"Let's show them to the whole class including Sudou and the others!"
"No. We won't show it to them yet."
"Why not?"
"Think about it. Say we reveal the questions the day before the exam, what will our classmates do?"
Kikyo thought a bit and then, "Ah! Then they'll study the questions and answers with full focus enough to ace the test at least!" Correct answer indeed. "Ayanokouji-kun are you sharper than you look?"
"I'm just cunning. That's all." He replied and, "Now, I'd like you to do me a favour. Could you tell the class that you're the one who got them the questions?"
"Sure, but are you okay with that?"
"I don't want to stand out unnecessarily. And I think our classmates trust you more." With understanding, Kikyo agreed to his request even saying that it's their little secret.
(Day before the test)
As planned, Kikyo handed everyone the questions surprising some of them. When Karuizawa asked about them, she explained the details without revealing Ayanokouji's part. This made many boys cheer over it. Even Sudou was impressed enough to take his studies with determination. Right now, "Koenji-kun, here."
"Unfortunately, I don't need that kind of thing thank you because I can handle the exams myself as a perfect existence. Now if you excuse me, I have a date to get to." Koenji then left when, "Kushida-san May I ask you a question?"
"Sure! And here Horikita-san, I know you might not need it but-"
"Thanks. I'll still take it and make use of it." Horikita accepted it as, "Okay, what's your question?" Kikyo asked and before she could speak up, some boys surrounded her to thank her cutting Horikita out. She really isn't pleased at the unexpected occurrence.
(Test Results Announcement Day)
AKA, End flashback...
While many boys continue to praise Kikyo, "Well what can I say? Kushida is well suited to the role." Ayanokouji spoke up. "That's insulting." Horikita replied as it cuts to the front desk as Chabashira-sensei spoke to the class with a rare smile. "To be honest, I'm impressed. I never thought most of you will get high scores. I acknowledge your efforts even yours Sudou."
The whole class was surprised by the mention as their teacher circled his scores with a red marker. "This is important for you all to know, the threshold for failure on this midterm test is 40. The average score on the midterm for the class is 79.6. Divide it by 2 and round it up, a score of 40 is required to pass a subject. Fortunately in your English Sudou, you scored 2 extra points more from the required passing grade." Sudou was speechless from this. "And to top it off, the average score to pass from all your subjects in the midterm is 60. So when I total up the scores and divide them based on the number of subjects...there! Exactly 60!"
"Uh, why am I mentioned over this?" Sudou asked with a bit of worry. "Because it was for a while that you did your best. Therefore in the next exam, I expect an improvement from you to motivate yourself to put in more effort in your studies. Homeroom is now over." Chabashira-sensei then took leave but stopped at the doorway. "One more thing, good job."
The class was a bit stunned by her words as she left. And then, Yosuke stood up. "Minna. Thanks to your individual efforts, we not only passed the midterms together as a class but most likely earned a decent amount of class points!"
"Oh yeah! Private points next month!" Yamauchi cheered. "If we maintain this behaviour and put in more effort as a class, we'll be sure to receive more class points in the coming months." Yosuke added as the class cheered together except for Ayanokouji because he stood up and, "Horikita, come with me."
"What?" She looked confused but joined him anyway.
School rooftop...
Chabashira-sensei is alone taking a puff from her cigarette. After that, "What is it now? Class is going to start soon you know?"
"Sensei, may I ask you a question?" Ayanokouji asked from behind with Horikita standing beside him. "Question?" She asked. "In Japan right now, do you think society is equal?"
"That's a deep question. Is there any point by answering that?"
"It's important sensei. So will you please answer my question?" Ayanokouji sure is serious although not expressing in facially so, "Well in my perspective...

...
"Society is certainly not equal. Not even a bit"
"Agreed. The word 'equal' is a lie. It can also be fabricated. But we humans are capable of thinking for ourselves." Ayanokouji explained. "What's the point in all this?" Chabashira-sensei asked as she put the cigarette aside. "The point is that rules, require at least, the appearance of equal application." He explained some more. "How did he know of all..." Horikita thought with wonder as, "You expected Sudou to fail the midterms right?" Ayanokouji asked. "My expectation at first until the results came in and I am most surprised." Chabashira-sensei replied. "But why bring this up?"
"Should Sudou fail by one point, how much points does it cost to buy it to add to his score in order for him to pass?" Ayanokouji asked. She looked at him for a moment. Then, she smiled and laughed lightly to herself. "You're an interesting one. Well, paying a total of 100,000 points is the price to buy a point to add into one's grade."
"Agreed. Remember what you said on the first day?" Ayanokouji asked bringing up the events that happened. "Ah yes...in this school, you can buy anything with the points." She replied nodding her head. "Precisely. Rules must be applied equally. Even on exams like this midterm." He added when Horikita spoke up. "We also don't know what kind of penalty that might be enacted on a class that loses students to expulsion. I'm determined that there may be considerable merit in those that have much to improve on themselves. This is why this information acquired today would be of great use for us to keep our class in shape. It also gives them time on their own improvements."
Chabashira-sensei can see that as, "I knew that you 2 would be interesting." She then lighted another cigarette and took a puff. After that, "In the history of this school, no Class D has ever advanced to a higher tier. Do you still intend to struggle for it? How do defectives like you abandoned by the school expect to aim for the top?"
"In my opinion, defective merchandise can often be fixed with the slightest of altercations. It's enough to whip them in shape in the mindset allowing us to aim for the top." Horikita replied. "Interesting. I look forward to it. And as your teacher, I'll watch over you warmly..." She then finished her smoking and left.
School hallway...
Sakayanagi and Katsuragi are both viewing the list of class points owned by the classes posted on the billboard. "Class C is gaining. Must be Ryuuen's work again huh?" Katsuragi asked. Sakayanagi said nothing. "He's a dangerous man leading his class like a tyrant. On the other hand, Class B is also gaining and surprisingly, Class D earned a decent gain. They may pose a threat if left unattended so best to keep a close watch on them. Who knows what other surprises they have in store to gain more class points to climb up the ranks." He continued on. "In other words, they must not be underestimated."
If nothing else, Sakayanagi decided to leave as she used her walking cane to support herself. "Isn't this boring?" She asked as she walked away with Katsuragi watching her.
And that night...
"KAMPAI!"
Soda cans are opened for drinking and various snacks are opened and laid out. Ayanokouji sighed over it. "Hey why the long face bro?" Sudou asked as he took a sip of his soda. "I have no objection to the celebration party and my participation in it...

...
"But why my room?" It reveals him, Ike, Yamauchi, Sudou, Kikyo and Horikita hanging out and unfortunately his question is ignored as, "That was a close call! If Kushida-chan hadn't gotten those old test questions, Ike and Sudou would have been expelled!" Yamauchi stated loudly. "Ha? You barely passed too you know?" Ike brought up as he sipped his soda. "And Sudou was fortunate to have just passed at least!"
"Well...I did study the old test questions and read notes from a notebook..." Sudou spoke up causing Horikita's eyes to widen a bit while she's sitting on Ayanokouji's bed reading a book. And then, "Ayanokouji-kun? Are you a minimalist? Your dorm is barely empty of some creature comforts." Kikyo asked. "Is that why it was your idea to throw the celebration party here?" He asked. "Something like that..." She replied as Ike offered her some potato chips and she took a piece.
"By the way Sudou, you said you read notes from a notebook. Whom does it belong to?" Yamauchi asked as he ate cookie. "W-Well..." His gaze is at Horikita as the boys can already read it. "She was the one?" Ike asked as she looked up a bit startled as she faced them for a moment, she then went back to her book speaking up. "I...uh...I merely acted for my own benefit."
"Ha! Ha! To help our buddy right?" Ike guessed right. "Damn! She's cute and reliable! I guess we had the wrong idea about her!" Yamauchi added as the boys laughed and Kikyo was dead silent...
After the party, "Thanks for helping me clean up the mess."
"I should be the one to thank you for letting us use your room Ayanokouji-kun." Kikyo thanked him as they finished cleaning up. "Uh, may I ask you a question?"
"Huh?"
"Do you like girls like Horikita? I always see the 2 of you together." He said nothing for a moment keeping his poker face intact. Then, "No, Horikita is my friend. No, she's just my neighbour." He answered her question but also had a certain thought as he closed his eyes, "Matter of fact...there is one girl that interested me...and I need answers on a possible...connection I think..." His mind flashed over the image of Honami.
"I see...I guess I'll just go back to my dorm. Goodnight." She left immediately as Ayanokouji finished tying up the plastic bag and threw the trash out when, "Kushida's phone...she forgot it..."
Outside, he exit his dorm and caught a glimpse of her at the lift area. He made his way there when, "The girls' dorms are suppose to be above us..." The panel shows that it's going down the 1st floor.
A while later, he exited and left the dorms to find her and, "Where is she going at this hour?" He then tracked her movement as quiet as a church mouse and soon enough, she was leaning on the rails by the waters and with the view facing the cities. Hiding in the shadows from a distance enough to not be spotted, he waited and, "What a pain..." He heard it. A different voice. "What the..." He thought as he stared at Kikyo raging out her anger and frustrations as she kicked the railings several times with force. "I SWEAR I HATE YOU! HATE YOU! HATE YOU! JUST DIE ALREADY HORIKITA! YOU WRETCHED BITCH!"
Ayanokouji could not believe his ears when Kushida's phone vibrated. "Who's there?!" She demanded still furious as she looked around. No response as she looked aroud some more. And then, "Ah Kushida, I finally found you. You left your phone-" She snatched it from his hand and, "Did you hear it?"
"And if I said I didn't, you'll believe me?" He asked as she got close to his face. Her eyes are different from what he's seen whenever she accompanies him. "Whether you heard it or not, if you tell anyone about this, I'll never forgive you."
"And what if I did?"
"Then I'll tell everyone that you tried to rape me."
"That's a false accusation."
"Not for long." She took his right hand and made it grope her busty chest. "Your fingerprints are right here." She then got his hand to grope harder. "The school gave us 3 sets of the uniform and you know what that means right?"
"Right..." He replied still not reacting to his hand but she let go immediately. "Now let me ask you a question, can you promise me right now that you won't tell anyone what you saw? Whether you heard it or not?" He just nodded his enough for her to believe in him and then, "I guess we got another secret!" She stated in her sweet and cheerful tone as she headed back to her dorms.
Once gone, Ayanokouji reflected on what just transpired when, "Mew."
"Now what?" He then saw something rustling in a nearby bush and soon enough, a grey and white kitten emerged as it meowed again. Walking to it, Ayanokouji picked it up and pet it as it warmed up cuddling to him. During the petting, "Hey Kushida-san...which one is the real you?" He asked himself the question as he gazed at the cities with the tiny kitten still on his hands. Things sure have turned unexpected...
Ha! Ha! So far this story is getting decent and I got decent support from some of you guys which is interesting! I even came up with a very important secret regarding the plot of the story and it'll stay hidden...for now. (I also can't spoil you a lot on it also)
Now, I sympathize Sudou's efforts to study so here, he's not expelled and he passed. Just passed I mean. And I extended the deal between the 2 freshmen and the senpai from the cafeteria scene during the flashback and cut out the compass scene, I kinda find it a bit disturbing on why Horikita had the guts to spill a bit of blood on school grounds despite her classmate's statement on her actions to help Sudou.
Also, what does the dorm look like in the anime? So far I've seen the bedroom with the desk, chair and laptop, bathroom and kitchen. Is there more to it? I don't mind hearing out your answers and if any questions regarding this story, feel free to ask!
Even so, who likes the idea of Ayanokouji keeping an adorable kitten as a pet?! Vote on whether he keeps it or he leaves it! Anyway, list time!
