Recap..
Turning around, Sakura made her way back towards her room. If only Naruto and Sasuke were here. Then maybe they'd know how to go about this. Get a second opinion on the whole thing. Grumbling to herself, she entered her room. Walking over and falling face first into the bed.
Maybe pushing him in the ocean would be the easiest solution.
Sakura chose to ignore Teach the following day. Keeping busy on the deck, helping the Nurses with loading up and organizing supplies. Marco was busy with Paperwork, Whitney had said, leaving them to look over most of the medical division. Which was rather easy for her, she had been running a hospital or two before coming here.
The day went on, and then the next. She noted Teach being gone for more than a few hours at a specific time. But only decided to make mental note of it for future her to deal with. And before she knew it, the crew was ready to leave the island. Set sail and do whatever else Whitebeard planned on doing.
Sakura found her mind drifting to their newest kid. Ace, who she hadn't seen in quite some time. But Whitney reassured her he was still on the ship. Thatch had brought thre kid back kicking and yelling about kidnappers, before throwing him on deck as they sailed away.
Now a few miles away from the island, Sakura smiled. Finishing a few touches on the medical supply room, before peeking her head out to tell Whitney it was finished.
Though she raised an eyebrow when she found the room empty. Only one other nurse standing there with a checkboard in her hand.
"Portagas attacked Oyaji again, she's out there helping." The nurse answered her unasked question. And Sakura nodded, before snickering at the stupid kid. I suppose he would continue attackinf Whitebeard. Even though she had figured he'd stop.
"Alright." She answered, before shaking her head. Stepping out of the room, and walking towards the empty bed the nurse was sterilizing. Just as she did, the door slammed open and Whitney walked in with an unconscious Ace in her arms. She nodded at the nurse who moved out of the way, and then turned her head towards Sakura.
"Mild concussion I think. Oyaji hit him rather hard on the head. Unsure of any breaks in the skull. But be a dear and check?" Whitney asked as she laid down the teen. Sakura hummed, and her chakra flared to life. The cool, green hue hovered around her hands as she ran a diagnostic on the kids head.
"No break it seems, possible concussion. Can't exactly heal that with my chakra." Sakura rattled off, her eyes following down the teens body.
"Nothing injured anywhere else though?" She double checked, lifting her eyes to meet Whitney's. The woman shook her head no.
"Kid attacked Oyaji with a kitchen knife. Must've stolen it from Thatch's supply. The chef was irritated he managed to slip one by him." Whitney chuckled. And Sakura tried to imagine the scene.
"The kid is either insanely brave, or insanely idiotic." Sakura muttered. Whitney as well as the Nurse, agreed.
"Wake him up, don't want him unconscious with a concussion. Sakura, watch over him will you?" Whitney asked, as the nurse gently shook the teen awake. Nodding, Sakura leaned back and sat down on the bed opposite of Ace. Not like she had anything better to do.
The next day the kid was back at it. This time he tried attacking Whitebeard in his sleep. Which ended in Namur having to fetch the teen out of the water.
The second time was an axe, similar to that you'd cut wood with. Sakura wondered how the teen even got such a thing. Probably found it somewhere laying around. That got him another wack in the head, and a trip to the infirmary.
The third was a bucket of water, and a broom. Sakura didn't want to even ask what the pyromaniac was thinking.
Eventually she lost count. Day after day, Ace would attack Whitebeard. Depending on the injury the teen sustained afterwards depends on the break he would take inbetween trying to assassinate Whitebeard.
Marco was clearly getting fed up. Every time he would be in the medical room as we healed Ace, you could clearly see the tick mark on his forehead. Although most of the crew seemed amused by the teens antics.
Her favorite attacks were probably the ones Ace planned out. Actually using his brain to try and kill the old man. It was interesting, whatever his plan in motion. Even if it failed. Like the gigantic axe, bigger than the first one. Wire doused in oil, which was set to flame. Any attack with fire was also fascinating to watch.
Sakura watched silently as the teens body flew past her and into a pile of empty barrels. Thatch laughed beside her, as both Whitney and Marco made their way over to check on the teen.
Over the next few weeks, Sakura found herself growing bored. Healing was a nice thing, but it was simply things like cuts and burns. Nothing that seemed to get her blood pumping.
But whatever gods were here, seemed to answer her plea.
"Marine vessel spotted!" Someone yelled, Sakura paused what she was doing, lifting her head up. Her eyes met Izou's, who placed his hand on the gun strapped to his side.
"You know who you are, get under deck!" A man yelled, Vista? Perhaps. A few younger crew mates stood, and they collectively made their way under deck. Izou looked at her.
"Non-Fighters go under deck for potential attacks. Something Oyaji put in place so their wouldn't be pointless deaths." Izou whispered, he paused. Glancing at the door leading under deck then back towards Sakura.
She scoffed. "I know how to fight, but I can also heal mid-battle if need to." Sakura said, raising a brow.
Izou nodded, seemingly impressed. "Hopefully it won't come to us needing you to heal. But we can't ever be certain. Stay back, let Oyaji do the talking." He says, and the two of them make their way towards the other commanders and few heavy hitters. Ace seemed to be shuffling his way over here as well.
"Sakura." Marco noted, eyes a tad wide before he schooled his features and nodded.
"Edward Newgate! The Marines demand you to surrender for your crimes committed against the world government!" A marine yelled from the deck of the ship that was approaching.
Sakura tilted her head, squinting at the ship that was approaching. It wasn't the largest ship ever, small. The marines present on the ship that were armed was few. Compared to Whitebeard's crew, it was almost embarrassing.
Whitebeard laughed, his loud voice echoing through the wind. "I can't do that." He said, and a few commanders chuckled.
Sakura's eyes narrowed. If they attacked, the marines would clearly be at a disadvantage. And easy wipeout. But Sakura felt like something was missing. The marine that was clearly the leader, seemed confident. He had something up his sleeve.
Sakura reached forward and tugged at Izou's sleeve. But the man was too busy whispering to Thatch about something. Her eyes lifted to Whitebeard's face. He was calm, so perhaps she should just follow his lead. He probably knew what he was doing.
"I'm giving you one more chance, Whitebeard! Surrender and we won't attack!" The marine yelled once more.
Sakura chewed her bottom lip, watching quietly like everyone else. Whitebeard huffed another short laugh, but still was against surrendering. The marine shook his head and signaled to his troops that lined his deck. Sakura pushed herself off the railing, knuckles cracking as they bunched up into fists.
"Fire!" The marine yelled. Whitebeard stood straighter, clenching his weapon. Everyone's fear shuffled into stance, their weapons drawn.
Sakura could hear their guns moving, right as the loud sound of all guns firing simultaneously. But for some reason, one one was fired directly at Whitebeard. Who easily lifted his arm out of range of the bullet. Which zipped passed everyone and out into the sea.
"Marco!" Izou yelled, as the blonde commander fell to one knee. Sakura snapped her head to the side, eyes widening as small amounts of blood poured from the commanders shoulder.
Marco's blue flames flickered, but nothing happened. Sakura watched with worry as everyone yelled or whispered in shock. "Seastone bullets! Don't get shot with them!" Izou yelled, and helped Marco to his feet.
Sakura stepped forward, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Why would they shoot you, and not Whitebeard?" Sakura asked as a few commanders stepped forward, their own guns raised to fire back.
Marco glanced towards her. "My devil fruit grants me the ability to fly. A huge advantage to us, and a disadvantage to them." Marco explains. Sakura narrowed her eyes. It was smart on the marines. But could there have been another reason as to why they targeted him? An extra motive?
A few of the crew made their way across towards the marine vessel. Their swords raised in attack. The marines met them half-way.
Sakura steps forward, but pauses besides Izou. The marine captain from before lifts his arm up, something that resembles a gun, lifted straight up into the air. When it fires, a red smoke erupts from the barrel. Izou seems to stop, along with a few other commanders. "A flare!" Izou yells out.
Before anybody could turn, a blast from behind hits. Sending the ship rocking to the side. Sakura flares out her chakra, sticking to the wooden deck. But others aren't so lucky. Stumbling forward and towards the ground. Ace and Thatch are two she notices along with Marco. But they all steady themselves quite well.
Half of the commanders snap their heads around. Two large marine ships appear from the distance. Having snuck up while everyone was preoccupied with the first ship. Whitebeard merely laughs, but his eyes sparkle with worry as he gazes at his first commander.
Seastone, that's right. If Marco couldn't fly, we'd have to deal with canons being fired at us as we get rid of the ship docked beside us. And then, sail towards them. Leaving us wide and at a disadvantage. Despite the ship being huge and sterdy, there was only so much one could take before breaking.
"Thatch, get a few good shooters and try to take out some of the marines on the two ships in the distance." Marco commands, pointing the the chef. Thatch nods, and Izou heads over. Sakura eyes the two guns in the commanders hand, would they be able to reach such a distance?
Sakura chewed on her lip as more canons were shot, two landing their hit as the others hit the sea. "You should've surrendered!" The marine captain from the other side yells. But you could tell he cowers as Whitebeard takes a large step forward. Marco glances at Sakura, before turning around to order an attack on the closer ship.
A few of her crew mates rush forward, aimed for the marine captain who had held his own pretty well so far.
Sakura reaches for Marco, right as Whitebeard raises his weapon and brings it down vertically into the marine vessel. Essentially cutting it it half. The marine captain yells, and he and a few others jump into the sea as her crew mates return back to deck. "Turn the ship around!" Her captain commands. Haruta races for the wheel to do just that.
"What's the weakest part of a ship? Marco!" Sakura asks, right as a canon shoots past them and into the sea behind.
"Weakest? Right above the Hul, no doubt. It's how most ships sink, because water collects." Marco explains, brows furrowed.
"What are you planning on doing?" He asks quickly, Sakura chews on her bottom lip. Looking around.
"We've already sustained some damage from the surprise attack. If we load the canons, it might be too late. And our guns can't kill two large ships full of people." Sakura begins quickly, drawing the attention of Whitebeard, Ace, and a few others.
"Let me take care of one of them. I can be used as a distraction for your ship to get closer. Close enough for an attack. But you have to.. trust me." Sakura explains. Sharing most of her plan.
"How'd would you distract them?" Ace huffs from the side, hands on his hips.
"You'll see. They think they won, since they took out Marco's ability to fly-" Sakura pauses, pointing the the wound on his shoulder.
"We're taking care of that when I get back, by the way." She grumbles, before turning towards the railing. She looks down at the sea, walking on water has never been a nicer skill to have.
Jumping over, with her chakra circling underneath the sole of her feet, She lands ontop of the water with a slight wobble.
Sakura takes off in a sprint, using some of her chakra to enhance her speed. It seems to take the marines a little while to spot her, doing a double take, before shouting erupts on the deck of both ships. But her eyes are lock in on the ship to the right. The biggest, with what looks to be metal lining most of the sides. More reinforced compared to the other.
She spots the movement of a canon, facing down towards her. But dodge to the side is easy, as the canon ball splashes into the water where she stood. "Get your guns ready!" A marine yells, but the split moment of hesitation if enough for Sakura approach the side of the ship.
Her chakra gathers in large amounts around her right fist, using her momentum of the run- she reels her arm back and aims a punch straight in the middle of the ship. Her knuckles don't even hit the side of the vessel, her Chalra doing most of the work as it expels from her body in a burst.
Sakura grins as the metal bends, cracks forming from where she hit, running up and to the side. Growing bigger and bigger until the ship explodes from the damange. The marine from above yell in shock, a few falling overboard while the others stumble back onto the deck that was splitting by the mere second. Water rushes past the cracks as Sakura jumps back to watch her handy work. Forcing the ship down, further and further until it is half-way emerged by the water. Sakura closes her eyes, feeling for her chakra. She had enough to last her awhile if she wanted to speed up the process by using a water jutsu.
But she shrugs, tilting her head back. Whitebeards ship was close enough to the other ship. And if the marines yells of shock where anything to go by- they were going to win this- easily.
As she turns to head back to her ship, a flash stops her. Turning her head, she stares at a marine holding a camera. His hands shaking ever so slightly. Sakura blinks, before grinning and waving her fist at him. He jumps, and races back into the second ship. Behind the line of marines armed and ready for a fight.
Sakura runs, jumping up and ontop the deck of the Moby. Rolling out her shoulders. She meets Whitebeards eyes, and smiles. He returns her grin just as fiercely. Marco regards her, as does Ace. Who stares at her almost analytic.
But the fight continues, and everyone's attention turns back to the other, last remaining vessel. The other Sakura had destroyed having alreayd sunk thanks to overflowing with water. Not that it would be useable even if it weren't filled with water. She had done enough damange to make it immobile.
Guns are fired, and swords are swung. Whitebeard watched contently from the deck of the ship. Until the marines are Defeated and the ship sunken as well.
"Sakura!" Thatch yells as the battle comes to an end. Everyone reappearing back on the deck. Most, if not everyone who was present on the deck, stood their looking at her.
"I didn't know you could pack a punch like that!" He exclaims, coming up and wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Sakura shrugs, grinning.
"Surprise?"
