Season 1 Episode 12

A reader with no taste: Thank you

Previously, Horikita and Ibuki had a one-on-one close combat battle and exchanged words but due to her growing sickness, Horikita lost and Ibuki got what she needed.

Now before the last scene in the previous episode, Ibuki has work to do as she headed to a tree nearby but noticed something odd. No matter, she needed to act quickly so she dug up the soil and took out a ziplock bag. She opened it and took out a radio. Making contact, "Ibuki here. I have obtained Class D's card as ordered."

It then cuts to Class A's base camp as in the cave, students are seen resting and relaxing with the exception of Katsuragi who's doing cartography and calculations and making contact with Ibuki. "Yes...I see...okay let's meet up there." He then checked the map and the spots his class found and the calculations on how many points they'll have left at the end of the special exam. "Class A's final points will be 544. The gap between our class and Class B's will be 350. And between our class and Class D's...

"It's an overwhelming number!" He then closed his notebook with a confident smile.

Back to Horikita, she appeared to asleep when a drop of water splashed onto her face. Quick reaction as she got up. "Are you awake?" Beside her was Ayanokouji. "Where am I? Why are you here..." She asked. "I found you passed out and brought you here." He replied. "Ugh...I went after Ibuki who stole the key card...but I couldn't get it back." Horikita explained as she felt her health deteriorate some more. "Horikita. You should bail out." Ayanokouji suggested. "I'll figure out a way to handle Ibuki and the key card. Besides, your body can't hold out much longer, right?"

"We can't...afford to lose...any more...points...because of...me..." Horikita stated weakly. "I...don't have...any choice...to reach...Class A..."

"Why are so obsessed with Class A? Does it have to do with the benefits?" Ayanokouji asked.

"I...want...my brother...to acknowledge...me..." She replied.

"What do you want him to acknowledge you for?" He asked. "What do you want to do?"

"I'm...responsible for...all of it..." Horikita replied sniffing a bit. "If I had allies...we could have...taken shifts...to protect...the key card...but since...I don't have any...friends like that..." Ayanokouji can see that as he placed his hands on her neck. "I brought...this upon myself..." Horikita finalized her sentence as she started to cry. "So now you're starting to feel like you need allies right?" Ayanokouji asked.

"I swear...I'll make up...for this failure..." Horikita declared weakly. "Even if I have...to do it...alone..."

"You can't do it alone. You're not that strong. Sorry to tell you this." Ayanokouji stated.

"You're telling me...to give up?" Horikita asked.

"Nobody said that. There's no need to give up." Ayanokouji told her. "If you can't fight by yourself, have a friend fight alongside you. I'll lend you a hand...

...

"As one. Your first friend."

"You're not...the kind of...person who...says things...like that..." Horikita then reached her limit and passed out before him.

Nightfall has arrived and with the heavy rain still pouring as at the teacher's area at the beach, Chabashira-sensei is reading something in the school tablet when, "Excuse me sensei." She looked up to see Ayanokouji carrying an unconscious Horikita. "What happened to her?" The teacher asked as Chie-sensei and Mashima-sensei got their attention as they looked behind. "She's passed out with a fever that she's been hiding from us ever since the start of the exam. She held her ground until tonight. Please, take her to rest immediately." Ayanokouji requested. Chabashira-sensei checked her a bit. "Never thought she endured. She'll be out of the game and your class will lose 30 S-points. Do you accept that?"

"Yes I do. And to ensure that her efforts are not in vain, I have a request to make."

Back at Class D's Base Camp...

"I heard Horikita-san dropped out." Karuizawa told her friends and beside them, Kokoro, Mii-chan and Kikyo sat by the campfire. The rain has also stopped. "I heard she suddenly became feverish and as a result, she was ill right?" Haruka asked. "Possibly." Karuizawa replied. "Ibuki-san's gone missing too." Satou brought up. "She must be the one behind the arson today right?"

"But what was she trying to do?" Shinohara asked and thought of this. "Wait, you think she's the Class C's leader?"

"Who knows? Everyone in her class bailed out already." Karuizawa stated. "It was probably one of them maybe?"

A little further away, Ayanokouji and Yousuke are having a private discussion. "Our keycard was stolen?" Yousuke asked. "Yeah. Although you're the only one I informed about this." Ayanokouji assured and added. "Ibuki must have infiltrated our class to find our leader. She was also behind the panty theft."

"I can't believe it. But why?" Yousuke asked as he clenched his fist trying to think of something. "No...thinking won't get us anywhere...what's more important is...tomorrow, they'll name our leader..."

"The penalty from a bail-out and a guessed leader alone will be minus 80 S-points." Ayanokouji calculated. "Having our leader guessed will negate all our bonus points that we earned."

"This is really bad for our class. Once the results are out, everyone will start playing the blame game..." Yousuke exclaimed.

"Yeah. It'll be a witch trial." Ayanokouji added as Yousuke hung his head low. "I thought this would be a chance for our class to come together. To strengthen our unity, to forge bonds with each other and to work together to beat the special exam..." Yousuke then started tearing up. "But with the recent incidents...this might be the end of Class D..."

"Who said anything about the end of Class D?" Ayanokouji asked and it surprised him as he looked up and even wiped away his tears. "Hirata. There's a favour I want to ask you..."

"I'm listening..."

(Final Day of the Test)

"Before we end the test, we'll commence the naming of the class leaders." Mashima-sensei told Class A. The students are all lined up in order and have cleaned their spot as the cave is no longer concealed. The teacher then handed Katsuragi a clipboard as he smiled confidently.

At Class B's spot, the students are cleaning up their area. "Andou-san, have you seen Kaneda?"

"No Shibata-kun. Now that you mentioned him, where did he run off to? He was still with us yesterday night..."

Nearby, "He was right..." Kanzaki thought when Chie-sensei arrived. "You know the drill. Write who you think were the other classes' leaders on this clipboard." She told Honami and Kanzaki as she handed the clipboard to Honami. "If you don't know, you don't have to write out the answers."

Looking at the clipboard. "I feel like we don't need to write anyone." Honami told Kanzaki. "The penalty for guessing the leader wrong is 50 points. No need to take that kind of risk." He replied agreeing with her. "Yeah. And we have over 200 points anyway." Honami then handed the clipboard back to her teacher.

But it was at that moment that Kanzaki remembered it. He thought about it for a second and, "On second thought, I have an answer for a class leader."

"Well then, write it down." Chie-sensei handed the clipboard to him as Kanzaki wrote down the one answer. "This better be worth it." He thought as he handed it back to his teacher.

And at Class D's area, the class is also in the midst of packing as Ayanokouji is seen rolling up some sheet when, "Hey...it's finally over right?" Sakura asked him while passing by and carrying a sack. "Yeah it is." He replied. "What do you think our score will turn out to be?" She asked. "Not to mention the incidents related to Ibuki-san..."

Ayanokouji is aware of that as he shifted his gaze at Yousuke who's looking at the clipboard with Chabashira-sensei waiting for him. "Have faith Hirata." Ayanokouji thought as he and Sakura continued the clean up.

12pm...

Exactly at that time, the exam is over and the classes all gathered at the beach before their homeroom teachers. Well, all except for Class C.

"Okay, looks like all the classes are here." Mashima-sensei announced as on Class A's side, they're lined up in order and in a way that Sakayanagi's faction stood on the left side while Katsuragi's faction stood on the right and he's in front of his classmates. "So, as of now, I declare the Deserted Island Special Exam over!"

"Hey! You can't end this exam without me!" All gasped at the sight of Ryuuen who out of nowhere showed up. He appeared to be a bit unkempt and even started growing a beard and mustache but they're thin. Ibuki and Kaneda are also with him as most of Class D murmured about them.

"Excellent work Ryuuen. Thanks to your hard work, my class has earned more than 500 S-points." Katsuragi commended him. "Allow me to express my gratitude for that."

"Hey now. You're about to witness something interesting." Ryuuen began. "Oh? What do you mean?" Katsuragi asked cautiously.

Flashback...

(Day 1)

"So let me get this straight. If we hang a curtain in front of the cave and hide our stuff there, the other classes won't discover our plan." Katsuragi talked with Ryuuen and he's holding onto some contract. "Still, this is a bold plan you've thought of..."

"For a test prepared by the school, do you really think I'd do that seriously? Let me tell you something, I hate effort." Ryuuen replied and it's time for his monologues.

On the first day of the test, I forged a contract with Class A. Class C will transfer 200 S-points' worth of goods to Class A. And I'd give information about the other class leaders to Katsuragi.

And right now, Katsuragi had a pen ready to sign the contract but hesitated first. "Regarding the class leaders, I cannot trust your words only, without evidence." He stated. "I need you to show me a photo of the key card or the real thing."

"Ah, sure thing. But...shouldn't you be trusting your allies in this case?" Ryuuen asked as Katsuragi signed his name on the contract.

Later on, "KSH! KSH!"

"Ow...you nearly broke my glasses..." Kaneda groaned. "Ugh...can't you punch softer?" Ibuki exclaimed as she regained herself and prepared a capoeira kick but stopped near Ryuuen's face. Seconds later, she canceled her attack. "If nothing else, go." Ryuuen ordered as the 2 students left.

Then, I sent Ibuki and Kaneda to act as spies in Classes D and B.

(Day 2)

After that, the reveling

And it cuts to the entire Class C having their beach party with the exception of Ibuki and Kaneda as both of them are doing their spy jobs and Ishizaki, Komiya and Reo being treated like servants.

We spent all the remaining 100 S-points after the trade and good thing the stuff needed for our reveling was all cheap. After that around evening, everyone bailed out except for my spies. And I alone, hid myself on the island.

And it cuts to nighttime as Ryuuen had a chat with an unknown student. "Ha! Ha! Ha! Never thought that you hate Katsuragi so much eh?"

Interestingly, I was in contact with Sakayanagi's Faction too. One of them was intentionally misusing a spot to reduce his own class's points and he was garbage enough to tell me Class A's leader.

(Day 6)

What was out of my expectation was Ibuki's camera which for unknown reasons has broken down. Thanks to that, Katsuragi and I have to personally verify the card Ibuki stole. After all, a hard copy is also enough to prove our trust to Katsuragi

The scene then shows that in the previous episode, Ryuuen was the person Ibuki met as she handed the card to him who then handed the card to Katsuragi who arrived just in time. He examined it and, "It's genuine. Good job, our contract is complete." He handed the card back to Ryuuen as, "Shall I tell who Class B's leader is?" Ryuuen asked. "B was heavily guarded naturally and my spy was apparently exposed when he tried to sneakily acquire the key card so he fled hastily. Regardless, he still managed to acquire the identity of their leader though he was unable to acquire the item or a picture of it."

"If you have no solid evidence, then I don't need it." Katsuragi replied as he got ready to leave but first, "Oh and Ryuuen, you reek. Why don't you take a shower?" He then left as Ryuuen and Ibuki watched him.

(Final Day)

Exactly before the exam ends, Sakagami-sensei can be searching the forest. As he looked around, "Ryuuen? Are you here?"

From the plants, an unkempt Ryuuen emerged. "Is it finally over?"

"I found Ibuki and Kaneda. They're with me now." Sakagami-sensei told him as, "I found your classmate! You can stop searching!" He called out to them and they appeared. "Now then, shall we finish this?" The teacher took out a clipboard and a pen and handed both items to Ryuuen as he got ready to submit his answers.

Class A's leader is Totsuka Yahiko. It's all thanks to that garbage from Sakayanagi's Faction for telling me the answer intentionally.

Class B's leader is Shiranami Chihiro. Though Kaneda was caught and was unable to get either a picture or the item, he did memorize the name so I'll take that chance.

And finally, Class D's leader is Horikita Suzune. From what I've heard from Ibuki, she found out and tried to fight her to reclaim back the card but lost. Ha! I guess I don't have to crush her myself thanks to Ibuki.

"Honestly before the exam starts, you told me that you hate effort." Sakagami-sensei exclaimed. "But here you are with an unkempt appearance, dirty clothes and small injuries all over the place. They all speak of your determination and hard work towards seizing victory."

"Ah whatever sensei." Ryuuen finished answering and handed the clipboard back to his teachers as he checked the beach. Yup, 4 hovercrafts are by the shore waiting.

By guessing the identity of the class leaders, 50 S-points are subtracted from the other classes and their bonus points gained from spots are negated. In terms of the final score, Class A will be reduced to only 170 points. Class C on the other hand will earn 150 points for guessing the leaders and combined with our bonus points from securing spots, we'll exceed Class A.

End Flashback...

"In summary, I've won this exam!" Ryuuen confidently thought as, "Now before we announce the exam results, we will first announce consolation rewards." Mashima-sensei announced surprising all the students.

"Interesting. I don't think the teachers ever mentioned that." Hashimoto thought. "Consolation rewards? What could they be?" Yume thought. "Oh...this is something I never knew. Ah who cares? I only care about the exam results." Ryuuen thought while still smirking. "So it seems there may be a chance that in the future, some special exams will have something like this." Ayanokouji thought as the consolation rewards began.

"In last place, Class C with only 3 students remaining. For that, their entire class wins only 1200 private points." Mashima-sensei announced.

"Well this kinda sucks." Ibuki whispered to Kaneda. "Ah no big deal, I still have a decent amount of private points." Kaneda whispered back.

"In second place, Classes A and D tied with only one student dropping out. For that, both classes win 9600 private points." Mashima-sensei announced.

Both classes cheered over it. Even Katsuragi smiled about it.

"And finally in first place, Class B with full attendance. For that, their entire class wins 10,000 private points." Mashima-sensei announced.

The whole class cheered in elation and Honami ended up getting hugged by Chihiro, Yume, Mako and Andou. "I see. The consolation rewards are awarded based on the class attendance. Not one student from Honami's class bailed out so they earned the full reward." Ayanokouji thought. "One student equals 400 private points. Multiply by 25 and the full reward is the answer."

"Now that the consolation rewards are announced, the exam results are next!" Mashima-sensei announced as all stood in attention for the main part.

"In last place, Class C with 0 points!"

"What?" A shocked Ryuuen exclaimed with Ibuki glaring at the ground and Kaneda stuttering in confusion.

"In third place, Class A with 120 points!"

Katusragi's eyes widen in shock over the result while Yahiko trembled in horror.

"In second place, Class B with 190 points!"

The entire class was surprised by this.

"And in first place, Class D with 255 points! That is all!"

"Eh? First place?" A surprised Kikyo exclaimed. "Really? How is that possible?" Sakura exclaimed also and the next thing it happened, Class D erupted into cheers of joy and victory as Ike and Yamauchi hi-5 each other with both hands, Sudou punched the air upwards, Koenji posing victoriously, Sotomura and Ijuin giving each other a fist bump and Mii-chan, Kayano and Mori had a group hug. The rest of the classes remained speechless at their win as Yousuke heaved a sigh of relief.

Even so at the ship, "What just happened?" Horikita asked and she's in the midst of her bed rest.

Later on at the Speranza...

"Ha! Ha! Ha! It's good to be back to enjoy the luxury!" Koenji cheered and he's clad in his black speedos and enjoying a cocktail as, "How the heck did you change so fast?" Sudou asked and with the class noticing it. "Because I'm a perfect existence!" Koenji replied as the students just shrugged their shoulders and went their way to rest up. Ayanokouji wasn't with them for he left early. As he went up to the upper deck, "WAIT!" He looked behind to see Horikita. "What's the meaning of this?"

Meanwhile in the cruise ship library, "It all happened more or less as I expected. Despite our class taking third place, things still went as planned." Sakayanagi spoke via the voice call through her handphone as she fidgeted a bit on a white knight chess piece. "As a result, the Katsuragi Faction will lose a great deal of influence." She then placed the white knight chess piece in front of the black bishop, beside the black pawn on it's left, behind the white pawn and if one looks closely, it has marked the black king chess piece. Checkmate style and in the L movement of the knight chess piece.

"Agreed." Hashimoto replied for he's the one Sakayanagi has contacted now as he walked by the hallway. "If we're united heading into the second term, Class A will be invulnerable." He then noticed the Katsuragi Faction in a heated confrontation. "Oh crap. Katsuragi's here. I need to hang up."

"Of course and well done Hashimoto-kun. You have the night for yourself and likewise, the others." Sakayanagi thanked him and the call ended.

Now over there, "How will you be responsible for this Katsuragi?" A male student asked. "Yeah! That contract you signed was a huge mistake!" Another male student exclaimed. "Woah guys! Don't forget that you all agreed for him to sign it! Even I voiced my support!" Yahiko stated while defending Katsuragi from the wave of criticism while he remained calm and silent when, "Man how pathetic if you ask me Katsuragi."

"Hashimoto you snake!" Yahiko recognized as all turned to him who just arrived. "Because someone as untrustworthy as you were there, Katsuragi can't move around in a crowd! And because of that-"

Yahiko was stopped by Katsuragi as he faced Hashimoto. "You were in contact with Ryuuen, weren't you?" He said nothing regarding the statement as he maintained his smirk. "It's no wonder you sold the name of our class leader to him." Katsuragi concluded as Hashimoto smirked and walked away leaving the Katsuragi Faction speechless. "And now that it's over, I'm gonna plan a date night with Masumi. Glad that princess gave us our free time." He thought. "Not to mention, the fact that I eavesdropped the scene on the second day intrigued me. Especially at the prediction from someone whom I've heard is from Class D. That was the que to make the move."

At the same time, Honami is seen checking her private points as Kanzaki showed. "Second place huh? That was unexpected. Oh, and I paid for our drinks."

"Thanks." She replied as he sat down with her. Honami then shared a laugh. "I guess it's still our loss right? Class D was the winner this time and I'm not surprised on how much they improved thus resulting in this!"

"Yeah. I can definitely see that. I even feel like we can trust them more." Kanzaki added. "Especially him."

"Hmmm...I see what you're implying. He's the reason why Class D got first place and I'm more impressed at him than ever." Honami exclaimed as she and Kanzaki had a toast and they sipped their drinks.

Meanwhile in Ryuuen's room, Albert is shaving his mustache and beard carefully when Ibuki entered in. "Sorry..." She apologized.

As Albert finished the shaving, "Now I know why we didn't get first place." Ryuuen began as he sat up. "It's because we guessed Class D's leader wrong."

And now it cuts to Ayanokouji and Horikita at the upper deck and they're in the midst of their discussion.

"Ha? You're not serious are you?" Horikita asked.

"I am. You're not our leader." Ayanokouji stated.

"What? But the card-" She then saw Ayanokouji take it out showing it to her. She then went to take the card, look at it and noticed something. His name was on the card instead of hers'. "Just before the test ended, I changed Class D's leader." Ayanokouji revealed and she gasped in shock. "You can't change a leader without a legitimate reason. Conversely, if you do have one, you can change them. A leader's failing health is one and as a result, Ryuuen and Katsuragi got the wrong answer."

"You arranged all this didn't you?" Horikita asked. "You used my illness as a weapon to your advantage."

"Yeah. And I read the manual about the rules of the class leaders." Ayanokouji replied. "Ever since Ibuki sought refuge in our base camp, I already knew she was a spy and at one point, I found a digital camera in her backpack so I destroyed it."

Flashback shows Ayanokouji pouring water onto the camera.

"As a result, Ibuki would need to steal the key card itself. I waited until your health condition deteriorated sufficiently."

Flashback to Day 6...

"I'll give you Sakura's email address if you do something for me." Ayanokouji spoke to Yamauchi.

"Eh?" Yamauchi looked surprised as Ayanokouji whispered it to him. "Uh sure! I'll play along."

"Right. And I trust you won't do something foolish or indecent whenever you email her?" Ayanokouji asked.

"Yeah! I'll behave!" Yamauchi assured and the plan is in motion.

End Flashback...

"I got you to show the card to Ibuki on purpose, got you dirty through Yamauchi which then got you to the waterfall and lured Ibuki into stealing the key card. I then started the arson to throw the camp into panic and to give Ibuki the opening she needs to escape." Ayanokouji continued on. "Then just as they'd planned it, she showed Ryuuen the card."

"Then, you got me to bail out so that you can change our class leader." Horikita finalized correctly.

"At first, I'd hope to earn points through spot occupation." Ayanokouji continued on. "But on the first day, I saw Katsuragi leaving a spot with a card on his hand."

"So Class A's leader is Katsuragi?" Horikita asked. "No, He's a cautious man and won't do anything careless. He wouldn't even occupy a spot at a time when someone else might see him. It was a performance to hide the fact that someone else had occupied the spot without asking him first. Thus, I was able to surmise that Totsuka Yahiko is the class leader for he's beside him and I eavesdropped their conversation on the part where Katsuragi stated his responsibility to take care of him. And it means, ensuring that his identity as class leader will not be revealed." Ayanokouji explained.

Horikita was somewhat amazed at this. "As for Class C, I knew that Ryuuen is still on the island." Ayanokouji revealed. "Eh? How..." She asked. "During our recon when we ran into him. I noticed a radio next to him. Even Ijuin who accompanied us to do recon clarified with me. Not to mention Ibuki also had one of the same radios."

Flashback shows Ayanokouji digging a bit on the spot where Ibuki was found by him and his peers and then, he found the radio.

"If Ryuuen himself was in contact with Ibuki, he must be still on the island and therefore, I was convinced that Ryuuen was Class C's leader." Ayanokouj concluded.

"In other words, Ryuuen is still giving out orders while hidden on the island which evidently proves his identity as Class Leader." Horikita exclaimed.

"And it was at that point that I decided to switch from a spot occupancy strategy to a leader identification strategy and I used you for that." Ayanokouji added.

"What about Class B?" Horikita asked.

"I left them alone." He replied. "Destroying our alliance with them would be a disadvantage to us in the long term. Besides, through Ijuin's observation, Kaneda who's in their base camp is the spy for Class C and I confirmed that their leader would be guessed even without any action from me."

"And as you speculated, Class B's leader was guessed causing them a serious loss of points." Horikita exclaimed.

"Having one's leader named is a loss of 50 points and all bonus points are negated as a result. Still, I gave Class B a handicap."

"Handicap?" Horikita asked. "Through Ijuin, Kanzaki got my message regarding Kaneda and he's been watching him like a hawk. When we met again, we talked and I even tipped them Class C's leader. They lost many points but still, they earned enough to be on a decent ranking." Ayanokouji explained.

"You really put one over on all of us this time." said Horikita. "You claim you have no interest in reaching Class A. Why then did you help me?" He said nothing about her question. "What is it that makes you move?" She asked another when, "There she is! Horikita-san!" From behind, the entire Class D except for Koenji showed up as they surrounded Horikita showering her with praise and compliments regarding the special exam. Horikita was too surprised by this as Ayanokouji stepped aside leaning by the railing when Kikyo walked to him and stood beside him. "Horikita-san sure is popular huh?"

"I guess so." Ayanokouji replied. And then, she wore her other mask. "I really do hate her." She admitted. "Because for better or worse, she has no hidden side. She's the opposite of me."

"Most people are like that." Ayanokouji replied. "As am I."

"Ne Ayanokouji-kun. If you had to choose between me and Horikita-san...you'd choose her, would you?" Kikyo asked now wearing her other mask.

"Don't know." He replied. "You meanie!" Kikyo pouted a bit and looked away from him as Ayanokouji thought of this. "If I had to choose between you and Horikita...I'll choose none of you. Because I already have someone in mind. And she's from Class B...but the time is not right yet..." And then, his phone buzzed and it's a message from Chabashira-sensei to meet her at the theatre.

So at the theatre...

"First, allow me to commend you for bringing victory to the class. I'm genuinely impressed at how the tables have been turned when you brought your ill classmate to me and even requested to change the leadership with a legitmate reason." Chabashira-sensei spoke first to Ayanokouji.

"Satisfied I see? Well then, let me ask you, is it true that the man asked you to get me expelled for good?" Ayanokouji asked. "I won't do you any more without proof."

"Oh I know everything about you. The man who asked me to get you expelled told me everything about you. That's proof enough isn't it?" Chabashira-sensei answered. "You remember the Wings of Icarus do you?"

"The play from the theatre when we first talked about this right? What about it?" Ayanokouji asked remembering it. "Icarus took flight to in order to be free. However, it's because his father Daedalus instructed him to make the wings and take flight. He wasn't flying of his own free will. Kind of reminds me of you." Chabashira-sensei stated as she checked her box of cigarettes. "That man, your father, said this. Someday, Kiyotaka will choose expulsion of his own accord." She then stood up. "You'll burn your wings under the sun, fall into the sea and die."

"It's out of question." Ayanokouji replied not caring about his teacher's words. "Ha! Poor tragic Icarus. What will you do next?" She asked. "I think you already knew. Icarus did not heed his father's warnings." He replied.

Meanwhile...

In the lounge, "You'd receive hundreds of thousands of points every month until graduation?" A surprised Ibuki asked and she's reading a different contract. Ryuuen and Albert are in there too. "From the start, this contract was what I was after. The test points were secondary." Ryuuen explained. "However, I don't like it when people get in my way. Especially Class D..." He then finished his glass of carbonated water and, "Ibuki. I have thought of a situable punishment for you regading your role in spying Class D during the exams."

She cringed from it as, "Follow the boss." Albert ordered and they left the lounge.

It now cuts back to Ryuuen's room as he gave Albert the signal. The big guy went to the wardrobe and took out something that made Ibuki extremely flustered. "R-R-Ryuuen! I am not wearing that!"

"What's wrong Ibuki? You should be thankful that I didn't choose to punch your face as the punishment." Ryuuen stated as he smirked about it.

"Screw you! I'd rather get punched in the face than wear that outrageous thing!" Ibuki protested.

"Too late already. Now what will it be? Oh and Albert just blocked the door so think fast while time is ticking." Ryuuen asked while taunting her as Albert grinned about it.

And back at the theatre, Ayanokouji is still there. No, he's leaving now planning to go back to his room as right now, nightfall has arrived.

How is it possible for my sensei to claim that the man told her everything about me. It seems biased. Therefore, it's a lie from the start that the man never contacted the school and she never met him but only to blackmail me for her own goals. No matter, I shall play along to safeguard and preserve my freedom. For now.

As he left the theatre, "Finally...I found you!" Horikita met up with him as, "What is itnow? You're suppose to get your bed rest right?"

"We didn't finish what we talked about just now. But Hirata-kun told me everything. When you told him the identities of Classes A and C leaders, you said I was the one who figured it out." Horikita stated. "And after the test was over, you asked him to work to bring the class together. Are you trying to use me as cover?"

"Horikita. You remember what I said back then? You need allies." Ayanokouji replied and she looked surprised by this. "You did it for that?"

"You're finally starting to change." Ayanokouj commented respectfully.

"It's your fault..." Horikita replied looking away while feeling a bit flustered. "But I did remember you telling me that you'll lend me a hand. You'll fight alongside me and I appreciate that. So from now on, I'll acknowledge you as my first friend and ally. But still, I don't want you acting friendly with me once we're back at school. No one in our class must not know of this for now. After all, we're only working together to reach Class A right?"

He said nothing as, "I will also say gratitude..." Horikita then faced Ayanokouji and smiled. "Thank you." She then left feeling the change and peace in her mind.

But from behind and under the darkness seen through his golden brown eyes and from the night sky, "I acknowledge the change in you. But Horikita, I've never once thought of you as an ally. Not you, not Kushida, not Hirata and not everyone in our class. All people are nothing but tools. Regardless of the methods and sacrifices, in this world, winning is everything. As long as I win in the end...that's all there is to it..."

Class D wins the special exam and it's no surprise that Ayanokouji arranged everything in the shadows. No wonder another ounce of darkness was seen though Horikita didn't notice it. Yes, she'll soon go through character improvement even accepting Ayanokouji as her first friend which is also a fresh start. Ayanokouji will still have his poker face and stoic behaviour but soon, there's more to him than meets the eye and he'll be interacting more with others and perhaps smile some more since he smiled a but this season. All will begin in Season 2.

And I cut a few scenes, added new ones and planned new dialogues and some extended ones in this chapter. Ibuki and Kaneda stayed on without bailing out and that's why Class C still got some private points on the consolation rewards despite being low.

Yes speaking of which, some special exams will have consolation rewards. Secondary results and they're only private points depending on the ranks. It'll make things more interesting...
