Season 2 Episode 6
Break time is over and the Voluntary Events are on.
Event 1: Scavenger Hunt
"Seems like I'm the only one participating, the rest appeared to be distressed over what happened between Sudou and Hirata..." Ayanokouji thought as he got into position.
On the field, the participants have to run to a booth in the centre, get a card from a teacher which is none other than Chie-sensei who'll hand them out and the participants have to hunt down what's stated in the cards they're given. The horn blared and everyone ran to the booth to get a card. Ayanokouji just walked at a fast pace and managed to get there and a card. Reading it while running around the field, "Hmmm...this might be challenging..."
"Kiyotaka!" He looked to his left to see Honami approaching him. "What is it that you want?" He asked. That's when she grabbed his hand and they ran their way back to the booth. "Did she find what she needed?" Ayanokouji wondered as already, some have found what they needed also and are ahead of them so, "Honami, brace yourself."
"Nani?" That's when Ayanokouji picked her up in bridal style and ran as fast as he can while carrying her. "Eeeek! This is too embarrassing..." Honami thought with a blushing face and soon enough, they arrived first as Ayanokouji placed her down carefully allowing her to stand up.
"Ah...Ichinose-san, how does it feel to be carried by your crush?" Chie-sensei teased her as she took her card first. "Correct! You got it!"
Ayanokouji then managed to get a glimpse of her card
Someone whom you see as special and extraordinary
"Is that what Honami sees it me..." He thought as Chie-sensei took his card. "Ah! You also got it!" This surprised them both as Honami checked his card.
Someone whom you can trust
"Souka...I unexpectedly found what I need for the hunt..." Ayanokouji thought.
"He trusted me a lot..." Honami thought and had a smile on her face.
Meanwhile...
Horikita is seen making her way when, "Horikita-san!"
"Onodera-san? What are you doing here?"
"W-Well...I...are you looking for Sudou-kun? Because if you are, I'm also looking for him." Kayano revealed. "Since he threw in the towel over the Sports Festival, it's most likely he's heading back to the dorms."
"My thoughts exactly. Alright, let's look for him together." Horikita allowed Kayano to help her as they headed their way.
Soon enough, they found him preparing to enter the lift. So, "Sudou-kun!" Horikita limped carefully to him with Kayano ensuring her safety.
"Horikita? Onodera? What are the 2 of you doing together?" He asked as, "Listen to me! If you drop out now, Class D will lose any chance to win." Horikita spoke first.
"Bah! Seems to me like they've lost already." He replied unhappily as he muttered to himself, "After all that I did to carry you guys..."
"Sudou-kun! I know you've been taking the Sports Festival very seriously. But you still have a lot to answer for..."
"I'll take a pass on the lecture Horikita...I'm pissed off enough as it is!"
"A child to the end I see. How do you expect to function in society?" She asked as, "Shaddup!" He slammed his fist on the wall as, "That attitude is exactly what I'm talking about." said Horikita as Kayano looked worried for him. "As I thought..it is a lecture..." He grumbled under his breath.
"It's a not lecture." Kayano spoke up when, "Gimme a break already! If I gotta listen to some boring lecture, I'll puke now on the ground! I figured being athletic would make today's event an easy win!" Sudou exclaimed in annoyance. "But all this group crap means I got idiots holdin' me back!"
"It's clear that you dislike losing in your specialty field. But is that all it is?" Horikita asked. He said nothin for a moment. He then looked away from the girls. "I...I wanted people to see me...respect me...I guess? Well I guess that's what it was..." He then faced the girls and continued talking. "Really show up everyone who talked smack about me. Pretty sad huh?"
Horikita said nothing as, "Why would you say that it's pretty sad?" Kayano asked.
"My parents were trash and I'm trash thanks to them. I always told myself I wouldn't end up like them, but I see more of 'em in me everyday." answered Sudou.
"That's not the right way to look at it." Horikita spoke up as Sudou turned his attention to her. "You can't blame on how you turn out on others. You have to decide it for yourself." She then looked down on the ground. "How much easier it would be if the sister of a genius was necessarily a genius..."
"What's that suppose to mean?" Sudou asked.
"Who you are isn't set in stone yet. It's still up to you to choose." Horikita spoke on. "You have spectacular talent in the field of sports. But at this moment, you're worthless. You're trying to run from reality. If you continue this pointless fight, I have no other choice but to declare you trash."
"Isn't this a little too cruel..." Kayano thought with a bit of confusion when, "Bah! Go ahead and declare me trash. I don't care about nothin' no more. Now go back to the class and do what you must." Sudou told her.
"Not until you agree to come with us." said Kayano as the lift opened and Sudou went in. "We'll be waiting for your return and I suggest you reflect on what I told you." said Horikita as the lift doors closed up.
Back at the field...
Event 3: Co-Ed 3-Legged Race
Preparations are proceeding as the students got ready with the tying. "And I never expected her to be my partner..." Ayanokouji thought and it appears Kikyou is now in the game as she worked on the tying. "Isn't this hard to believe? That Horikita-san went to look for Sudou-kun?"
"Kushida..."
"Hang on, I'm almost done-"
"It's you isn't it?" This made her pause the tying. "You're the traitor that leaked the submission form of Class D to Class C."
"That was mean thing to say Ayanokouji-kun." Kikyou replied innocently and she finished tying the knot. As she stood up, "I wonder, where's this coming from? It's not even an amusing joke."
"Some time ago after the fitness testing and before the class heads to the track and field area for our training, I saw you taking pictures of the submission form."
"I just wanted to make sure I won't forget the events that I'm participating in." Kikyou replied.
"Haven't you forgotten? We were told not to take pictures. But you talking to Hirata about it right after most of the class left and that was enough to suspect you."
"Oh yes I did remember! I told Hirata-kun that I can forget easily so I asked for his permission to take pictures and he allowed me as an exception."
"If you were smart, you could have taken only one picture and only for the events you're in."
"Is that the whole reason you suspected me?"
"I'm afraid it's far more certain than that. We wouldn't be losing so badly to Class C if this traitorous act did not take place." Ayanokouji then recalled the events where Class C targeted Class D.
"Ne Ayanokouji. Let's say for a minute that I was the one that leaked the class information. If you knew I was gonna do it because I took the pictures, wouldn't that mean you knew the form would get leaked?" Kikyou asked with some testing. "Then why didn't you change the roster after I did?"
"Because it'll be too pointless. As long as the traitor exists in Class D, they'll do whatever it takes to leak it."
"What do you mean?" She asked. "Anyone in Class D can check the changed form anytime." He answered. "If you kept the real form hidden, and only turned it in at the last minute, then even if the traitor saw it, they won't have time to adjust right?" Kikyou asked and, "Of course that would raise a lot of confusion..."
...
...
...
"So you couldn't do it." Smiling about it, "But also, it doesn't mean that-"
"Shall I ask our teacher if anyone came by to check on the roster after the participation form was submitted?" Ayanokouji asked. "Besides, you may have gotten approval from Hirata to take a picture but it also means you won't deny that it may not be the final confirmation. Isn't it?"
Silence filled the atmosphere around them. "You sure are something Ayanokouji-kun. Yes, I leaked the submission form! But there's no way you can tell anyone else about it right? Remember my uniform with the fingerprints on it?"
"You didn't wash the uniform for a long time I can tell. But I also recognize that I can't expose you as the traitor. I only want to confirm." Ayanokouji stated. "And the exam on the ship, things turn out the way they did because you used Ryuuen by revealing yourself to him that you're the VIP. And you wanted a favour from him in exchange. Am I right?"
"Favour? You mean you know what I wanted so badly to the point that I'd betray the class to get it?" Kikyou asked as she stretched her right leg a bit.
"I imagine it's the same thing you asked me for once before." He replied. This made her giggle as, "You really know everything don't you Ayanokouji-kun? Then I'll tell you. I want to see Horikita-san expelled for good!"
"But the only thing I can't figure out is the source of your strong hatred against her. Sure at first, she'd prefer to be alone and not make any friends even when you tried many times to be her 'friend' and the many times she ignored and refused to trust you." He brought up.
"That doesn't matter. What matters to me now is to get that bitch expelled. And you can't do anything to change my mind." Kikyou told him innocently.
"And you'll do whatever it takes to expel her even by betraying the class right?" He asked. "Indeed! I don't need to make it to Class A. Expelling that bitch is the only thing I wanted!" Kikyou told him with declaration. "But don't get the wrong idea. Once she's gone, I'll then work hard with everyone to reach Class A but also, due to our current conversation, I have added you on my expulsion list."
"So once you expel me and Horikita, only then you'll 'happily' and 'peacefully' work with everyone to reach Class A?" He asked.
"That is right and you can't stop me from changing my mind." And she giggled about it as Ayanokouji said nothing. He then saw Honami finishing a knot tied between her leg and Shibata's leg.
"Sigh...whenever I see Ichinose-san, I absolutely hate her so much. Now that I said it, I'll add her on my expulsion list!" Kikyou told him. "She's the most popular girl in our batch and I'd do anything to be on the top. I hate her so much for that! She even has a poor taste for men."
"Odd...I thought you girls are friends...unless it's because of the list..."
"It's not the only reason Ayanokouji-kun. But it doesn't matter because one day, I'll tear that pink bitch apart. Body, mind and soul until she cries and wallows to the point that it's goodbye for her! Good riddance!"
"Why are you telling me this?" Ayanokouji asked.
"Because it depends on who goes first after Horikita-san." Kikyo then giggled to herself and Ayanokouji noticed it. It's extremely different.
Back at the dorms...
Horikita and Kayano are still at the lobby waiting for Sudou. Surprisingly, he did come down and was stunned to see them still waiting for him.
A few minutes later, he's seen buying some sports drink from a vending machine. "You girls stayed here the whole time?"
"Yes." said Kayano as Sudou walked off. "Matte Sudou-kun! Where are you going?" Horikita called out to him as she limped carefully to him with Kayano supporting her. "Back to my room. I only came down for some liquid refreshment."
Wait! Sudou-kun, I've spent this last hour thinking...about what kind of person I am and what kind of person you are...and I realized something...
...
...
...
...
...
"You and I are alike."
"Nani?" Kayano thought and this made Sudou stop. "Seriously? We're not alike."
"You know the student council president don't you?" Horikita asked.
"That four eyes stuck-up bastard that acts all strict and serious like some big shot VIP?" Sudou asked shocking Kayano. "That was sort of rude..." She thought.
"He's my older brother." Horikita revealed. "Our relationship is anything but a loving sibling one. But because of my incompetence, my older brother hates being associated with a sister who's anything but-"
"Yeah, yeah, you're smart and good at sports." Sudou already knew that as, "All fields in which my older brother effortlessly excels. I've spent my whole life running, single-mindedly focused on catching up to him. And as a result...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
"I'm always alone. I thought I was fine with that and if only I excelled, my brother would eventually accept me."
Kayano was shocked to hear her classmate's words as Horikita continued on. "I was approaching this Sports Festival with a similarly mercenary attitude. I had a vague hope left that if I excelled at the multiple events, my brother will see me. Our class's fate was a distant second in terms of priority. I finally realized, I'm not exceptional and my priorities are wrong-headed. I can't do this alone. And that's why working with a team is the first time true accomplishment has seemed within my grasp. I'll persevere and work hard to get my brother to acknowledge me and to become someone I'm not ashamed to be."
This gave Sudou his attention as he faced her to listen on. "And if it appears you're about to stray again from the path, I'll bring you back to it and not push you away. So please, help me and the class from now on until graduation and in exchange, I promise to dedicate myself to your aid."
Sudou could not believe his ears. "None of that ever seem like it was true before...how come your words hit me so hard all of a sudden..."
"I'll say it one more time Sudou Ken-kun. Help me. Help the class..."
"Horikita..." Strong and wise words really hit him hard so first, he lightly slapped his left cheek and, "DAMNIT! Fine! I'll do my best to help you! To help Class D all the way! Man I feel like I've seen for the first time for something other than basketball! And therefore, I'm gonna be who you think I can be!" He sure is pumped as Horikita smiled at his change.
"I'll help too!" Kayano spoke up. "After hearing everything, I now understand you 2 better. So therefore, if anything, I'll also give you both my support!"
"Arigato Onodera-san. And sorry about before during the 3 legged race training..."
"Daijobu Horikita-san. What's done is done so now, we gotta get back to the booth in time for the voluntary event." Kayano brought up as Sudou smiled at the 2 girls.
And so...
"I'm sorry for everything!" Sudou apologized to the whole class. "If I hadn't lose my temper, Hirata and I could have wrecked each other badly and our class morale would have tanked down the drain! We've lost in many areas and that's my fault too."
"Glad to have you back Sudou." Yousuke told him.
"Right! Let's hit the last event with everything we got and have fun!" Sudou announced as all cheered.
"Could I request a substitution? I don't think I can accomplish much with my leg still injured." Horikita requested.
"Okay...Horikita might be unable to run due to her injury so...Shinohara, you still got energy to contribute?" Yousuke asked.
"No problem! Leave the running to me and those competing!" She replied. "Yeah you got this!" Ike cheered for her and they hi-5 each other.
But then, "Um...I hate to say this but I'm not in good shape to run." Akito revealed to the class. "During the 200 Meter Dash, I twisted my ankle and it's gonna take a while to heal...so I need to sit this one out. It still hurts even now."
"Okay...it sounds like we'll need a stand-in from the boys..." Yousuke then looked around when, "In that case...do you mind if I run?" Ayanokouji stepped forth to volunteer and clapping can heard as, "So this is where you'll guarantee our class victory and put up the performance in the event. Am I right Ayanokouji-boy?"
"What the? Kouenji?" A surprised Sudou exclaimed as, "With due respect Hirata-boy, I would like to be part of the event as well. Though you might have to let me take your place." Kouenji requested.
"But weren't you feeling under the weather?" Yamauchi asked. "That was just now. I took a nap all the way and now, I have awakened refreshed and in good condition to participate as a perfect existence!" Kouenji declared.
"What about the guarantee and performance thing regarding Ayanokouji-dono?" Sotomura asked. "Oh you'll all get to witness it soon." Kouenji assured as Yousuke pondered about it.
Event 4 aka Final Event: Combined Class Year 1200 Meter Relay
Currently, Team White is on the lead with a score of 9526 while Team Red has 9448.
Also, the whole school is looking forward to this event as all cheered for their classmates as on the track, Sudou is ready and likewise the other participants including Kanzaki representing his class.
Once ready, the gun fired a blank shot and Sudou sped ahead! Yup, he's fast on track and fast on dribbling the basketball in court and now's he ahead of everyone though Kanzaki and 3 other participants are gaining on him.
The second group of runners are in position as Kouenji smirked in satisfaction at the sight of Sudou nearing him. "Kouenji! Give it to them!"
"No problem Red-hair boy! Witness my performance as a perfect existence!" The baton was passed as Kouenji ran at lightning speed while laughing. Class D cheered over their lead as the other students were stunned at his ability.
While waiting for their turn, Manabu went to talk to Ayanokouji. "I've been observing your class all this time. I assumed the class is beyond salvation. But that no longer seems to be the case. How did it all happen?" He asked as right now, the third group of runners are in position as Kayano stretched her arms a bit with Mako standing beside her and waiting.
"If something's changed, it was your sister who changed it." Ayanokouji replied as back on the track, Kouenji handed the baton to Kayano and she sped off. Horikita smiled in excitement over the class leading the relay.
"Souka..." Manabu understood now as already, Mako got her baton from Shibata and ran off with a few others also making their move. "She's amazing..." Norihito thought in excitement and now, Kayano was overtaken by Mako and the few others shocking Class D. "This ain't good. I think." Hondou thought.
"Our class will grow stronger." Ayanokouji added. "I have no interest in hypothetical futures." Manabu replied. "Then are you interested in learning what kind of person I am?" He asked the student council president as he looked surprised and already, Kayano passed the baton to Chiaki as she ran.
"If that's what you want, I could convince you to indulge you with a race. And I guarantee that I will win this." Ayanokouji declared. "Omoshiroi...so you're challenging me...very well. I accept." Manabu exclaimed as already, Chiaki is in last place and passed the baton to Shinohara as she sped off determined to catch up with the others. Plus, she's catching her breath.
The last group took position as Manabu observed Ayanokouji who's across from him. Also, Machida and Beppu are running in this event.
But shortly thereafter, 2 girls arrived as one passed the baton to one of the runners and the other passed it to Manabu. "Well done."
"Wait...aren't you gonna run?" She asked and already at Class 3-A's booth, everyone noticed it.
"Why is he not running?"
"What's going on?"
"Is there something in his mind?"
Even Horikita noticed it as back on the track, majority of the last runners have taken off as, "Before we race, let me tell you one thing."
"What is it Ayanokouji?"
"Run with all your strength." He answered and he was impressed by his boldness.
"Ayanokouji-kun!" Finally, Shinohara has arrived as she passed the baton to him.
With that, Ayanokouji and Manabu dashed with all their strength as one of the runners noticed them. "No way! How are they this fast!?" He soon was overtaken and next, Machida and Beppu were neck-to-neck but their eyes widened and mouths dropped open at the sight of Ayanokouji and Manabu speeding past them.
The entire school erupted in excitement over this with mixed reactions.
At Class 1-A's booth, "Pfff...so what? I can run faster than this gloomy defect! I even find it fake if you ask me!" Yahiko boasted but received glares from the majority of the class including Katsuragi who clenched his fist in front of his face.
At Class 1-B's booth, "Oh my gosh...Kiyotaka is so fast and cool! Oh my gosh...he might win this! I'm even rooting for him now in my heart..." Honami thought in excitement and suddenly, something happened that shocked the whole class.
"Eeek! Ichinose-san fainted!" Chihiro called out as Norihito and Hamaguchi caught her in time from falling down. Her face was crimson red and she's feeling dazed. "Is she gonna be alright bro?" Norihito asked. "She'll be alright." Hamaguchi replied as he watched the race smiling for he knew why she fainted.
At Class 1-C's booth, "Never thought that gloomy bastard can do that..." Ryuuen thought while observing the race. "Wow! He's fast!" Albert cheered. "I know right?" Ishizaki agreed with him as Ibuki, Manabe, Nanami, Saki and Rika are staring at him with their mouths opened. Plus, Kaneda is analyzing the race.
And finally at Class 1-D's booth, "Are my eyes deceiving me?" Ike asked. "Yeah! When was he this super fast?!" Yamauchi asked. "My money's on him!" Sotomura declared as he started cheering for him. "Me too! I've never betted before but I believe this could be a big opportunity for our class!" said Yukimura as Mii-chan and Kokoro jumped together excitedly while grasping onto each others' hands while Satou had an excited face upon seeing the race.
"Ayanokouji! Go for it!" Karuizawa and Yousuke cheered for him.
"Gambare Ayanokouji!" Akito cheered for him.
"AYANOKOUJI! WIN THIS FOR OUR CLASS!" Horikita cheered and shouted her loudest. "I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! I BELIEVE IN YOU!"
And now, Ayanokouji and Manabu are approaching the finish line with both neck-to-neck for the first place.
My entire life, I've never run with all my strength in front of the world before
As they're nearing it, they exchanged glances and smiles.
"He smiled? For the first time?" Manabu thought with respect as he got serious and focused on the race.
"Well then. Now I'll go even faster..." Ayanokouji thought as he also got serious and soon enough...

"WINNER! CLASS 1-D!"
What a loud announcement as Ayanokouji halted from the race and the entire school cheering for him. "Well that was something..." He thought when, "Ayanokouji!" Sudou ran and locked his arm around him. "Ha! Ha! You were one helluva runner! Were you holding back the entire time? Ha! Ha!"
"You were awesome out there!" Shinohara called out as she, Kayano and Chiaki ran up to him and squeezed him for a hug. After that, "Ha! Ha! Ha! You put up a marvellous and majestic performance out there!" Kouenji showed up also while clapping his hands. "Not to mention the victory you guaranteed for our class! Ha! Ha! Ha! For once Ayanokouji-boy, you have my respect!" He offered his hand and they shook hands.
And then, the rest of Class D showed up as, "Dude! You're something!" Ike cheered. "Incredible effort!" Yousuke cheered also. "Thanks. Though it was just a surge of adrenaline that allowed me to-"
"KSH!"
"Baka! You should be honoured that you brought a class victory for us!" Horikita who just gave him a punch on the gut told him. "Is that how you treat a solider who gave his all and never held back during battle?" Ayanokouji asked when suddenly, the boys took action by lifting him up and throwing him up in the air. That was surprising to him as the whole class cheered for him.
As for Manabu, "He's truly something else...I look forward to seeing more in him than what he showcased today..." He thought when, "Here." Tachibana gave him a bottle of water as he took a sip. "You did great out there too."
"Thanks." He replied when, "Tachibana-senpai, is that all you can do? Just make your move already if he still remains ignorant about his heart." Out of nowhere, Horikita teased them with a positive smirk as she joined her class still cheering and with the boys still tossing Ayanokouji in the air.
"This is the first time my little sister teased me...I did not expect so much change in her..." Manabu sure is astonished but a second later, he smiled about her. And also, "Tonight, let's go out for dinner. You and I."
"Ah...yes! I'd love to go out with you!" Tachibana cheered as she hugged her crush. He smiled at her as he wrapped his arm behind her as they watched Class 1-D put Ayanokouji on the ground while cheering for him some more.
Later on in class...

"Truly a splendid result!" Ike described. "Yeah...though we're in last place..." said Yamauchi. "At least Team Red won the event." said Sotomura. "But also, pretty much all the classes in our batch lost some class points so it's a wash in the way." said Yousuke.
Behind them, "You're pretty fast. As quick as lightning." Karuizawa talked to Ayanokouji. "The others were too slow. Though the president was at least able to keep up with me." He replied.
"That's still your take with how everyone else is acting?" She asked when, "Ayanokouji! You were amazing back there!" Ijuin showed up excited. "Thanks. But why do you look so hyped?" He asked. "When I saw you run, it was something! I...I..."

"I want to improve on my fitness! I want to lose weight and work hard to become fast and strong just like you!"
"Wow! Good to hear! I can be your personal trainer to help you with your goal!" Sudou appeared patting Ijuin on the shoulder. "Same thing!" Sakura also showed up as, "Mou, I'm not so sure about you. I mean, you ran at the 100 meter dash and didn't do well though. No offense." Karuizawa told her. "The result doesn't matter. What matters is my improvement. Back then, I always end up in last place but in today's event, I didn't at all." Sakura replied. "You really did improve." Sudou believed him. "Tell you what, I can get Onodera-san to help you with your physical fitness improvement if you want."
"That would be wonderful and beneficial for next year." Sakura thanked him as Ayanokouji watched his classmates bond. And then, "I got something to do."
"Go ahead. I'll be chatting with Mori." Karuizawa told him as he left.
Unknown area...
"So you came...I'm impressed at your boldness...Suzune." Ryuuen spoke to Horikita.
"If I ran away, I don't think I'll ever forgive myself." She told him. "So here I am. Ready."
"Impressive resolve." Ryuuen complimented her. "Do you feel like you've improved?"
"Before I deal with you, drop the act Kushida-san! I know you're hiding in the shadows!" Horikita ordered and true to her words, Kikyou emerged from the shadows. "Eh? What in the world are you talking about?"
"You had the guts to purposely leak our class participation list to Class C making it easy for them. And having Ryuuen-kun here makes things easier for you too. Right?"
"Oh gosh! Who in the world told you all that? Hirata-kun? Ayanokouji-kun?"
"That does not concern them. But let me tell you something very important." Horikita sure is serious about it because, "I didn't recognize you at first. But as far as I can remember, there was someone in my middle school and the name of that someone..."
...
...
...
...
...
"Sounds familiar right here and now."
Kikyou said nothing for a moment. And then...
...
...
...
...
...
The other mask is worn.
"Heheheheheh...Heheheheheheheheheh...HAHAHAHAHA!...AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
"What the frickin' hell..." An astonished Ryuuen has never seen Kikyou laugh maniacally for her face is twisted with insanity and madness but she instantly calmed herself down. "Ah...took you long enough to figure me out. I guess I was a problem child back then huh? And if you put all that together, I imagine you know what I'm really after right?"
"You've been a problem child from before till now. For you intend to drive me out of this school." Horikita answered her. "But to attempt that presents a tremendous risk to you doesn't it?"
"Very true! However...if you ever tell anyone about me, that's when I'll really apply the thumbscrews." Kikyou told her. "And if that happens, you won't be able to keep your precious and stupid big brother out of it."
Horikita didn't expect this dark threat. So, "Why not just ignore me in the first place? You know I don't pry into matters that don't concern me."
"In order to be the person I am, I really need everyone who knows about my past gone." Kikyou answered her.
"Oh really? Would that put me in your crosshairs as well?" Ryuuen asked with interruption and having regained himself from what he witnessed just now. "It maybe could someday!" She replied in her other mask. "Smart girl...but you're exposing too many weaknesses that will one day be your downfall..." He thought craftily.
Wearing her other mask and continuing the conversation, "Let me make this clear Horikita-san. I am going to have you expelled. I'll even make a deal with the devil to do it and no matter what happens, I'll stop at nothing until I see you get kicked out. I don't even care about what happens around me at all."
"Well you heard her." Ryuuen replied playing along.
Now shifting her attention to him, "You got the better of me this time. You planned everything during the event didn't you?" Horikita asked.
"Such a persecution complex..." Ryuuen replied. "Still, it's already over so I'll just indulge in your little fantasy."
And thus, the revealing begin. "Before the Sports Festival, Kushida sent me all the info regarding Class D's participations. And I arranged all the match-ups to put us at the advantage and you at the disadvantage."
"Brilliant maneuvering. And the fact that I was taken out of the running due to the injury and that Kinoshita-san tripped and injured herself severely. Neither could have been done intentionally." Horikita commented.
"Seems like you figured it out. Yes, it's true that she fell but a fall like that usually wouldn't hurt you so badly. So I decided to give her more pain and take her out of the competition." Ryuuen finalized.
"This is why Kushida-san was not present most of the time. She's cooperating with you to set me up." Horikita added and she whipped her phone out. "I've been recording all of this from the start. So if you try to report this to the student council or blackmail me, I'll fight back with this as evidence."
Ryuuen was surprised but laughed also. "You sure are entertaining. Because I came prepared too." He then whipped his phone out. "I also started recording everything from start till now."
Horikita was not expecting this as, "If nothing else...be a good little girl and grovel before me. Right now..." Ryuuen ordered with a cold glare and voice.
Defeated she felt but all of a sudden, a vibration took place. All noticed it from Ryuuen's phone as he apparently received an anonymous message in the form of a recording file. Surprised, he opened and listened it. At that moment, his eyes widened and, "Heh...heheheheh...Ahahahahaha!"
That was an amusing laugh compared to Kikyou's as, "Well isn't that something..." Ryuuen began as she smiled sinisterly. "Whoever's pulling your strings is something special I can tell. It turns out, it was planned out." He then played the recording before the girls.
If you want to entrap and crush Horikita Suzune from Class D, I'll give you a plan. Race her in the obstacle course and crash into her. Do whatever it takes to make her stumble onto the ground. After that, I'll injure you and blackmail her
By the time it's finished, "Wh-What in the world?" Kikyou doesn't understand as, "Looks like we have a traitor too." Ryuuen answered and she was greatly shocked as she trembled in horror. "That's right. You've been used Kikyou. Your betrayal, all of it, was anticipated in advance. So, it was a failure in the end."
"N...NO!" Kikyou shouted in loose rage. "NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! I WON'T ACCEPT IT! I REFUSE TO ACCEPT IT! ARRRGH!" She started kicking the wall of some warehouse beside her with mindless rage and fury. Ignoring her behaviour, "Someone who could prepare a recording like this won't make themselves known easily...but regardless, I'll track them down." Ryuuen told Horikita as he stood up to take his leave.
"Suzune. This is over...for now." He concluded as he left. "MATTE! I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU AND I WANT ANSWERS NOW ABOUT THIS!" Kikyou chased after Ryuuen ignoring her 'enemy' as Horikita heaved a sigh of relief and closed her eyes. Results aren't what she expected but in the end, she's saved.
For now.
What you have read and witnessed is how I made Kushida Kikyou one of the major antagonists. Dangerous and threatening enough to plague Class D in the shadows. Her behaviour will be different from the manga and LN for here in this story, it'll be erratic, violent and with a high level of unstable mentality and loose rage.
I got Kayano Onodera some screen time also because let's just say I've seen how supportive she was to Sudou in one of the LNs and soon enough in this story, she'll one day get that chance.
The class relay had changes with Kouenji running instead of Yousuke and Shinohara running instead of Kikyou since she's not around most of the time during the festival due to her villainous role and yes, I did add the winning scene and class victory scene for the voluntary event out in the field instead of the classroom.
Also, I worked on the Scavenger Hunt which I believe, needs room for improvement but this was the big thing I was planning 2 chapters ago! And this is why the points have a change for Class 1-D in the Sports Festival Results.
