Heads up, starting with this story, I'm gonna try something else: since this is What If...? : AU, I'm going to use them as a test for stories. Small moments from around the multiverse, and see if there's anyone who wants to see more of their reality.

Warning: most of them will still be one shots, as not all of them can be complete stories.

This one however, let's see if anyone wants to see more.

The particle accelerator.

Anything could've happened. Anyone could've been hit.

Now imagine that someone else was in town during the accelerator.

Two someone's.

Elizabeth Ross and Peter Parker currently in Mercury Labs working on an experimental project regarding Gama Rays for the government.

It wasn't exactly something Peter was hoping to work as it was supposed to be some Gama Bomb.

"Looks like we can stop here for the night." Peter says when he noticed the time. "I gotta get going."

"You can stop here, Peter, I'll be fine." Betty promised him as she looked over her tablet.

"You sure? You've been putting a lot of late nights." Peter commented.

"Meh, I like to keep busy." Betty shrugged as she looked over their information.

"All right, I'll see you tomorrow, Betty." Peter guessed.

"See ya, Peter." Betty said with a smile as he left her to work.

"Dr. Wells, the accelerator is primed and ready for particle injection." Cisco says as Caitlin and Wells enter the room.

"I feel like I should say something profound like, one small step for man. All I can think of to say is I feel like I've waited for this day for centuries." Wells says as he finally turns on the accelerator and it activates, and they wait for something to happen.

"That's it?" Cisco asks thinking more would happen. "You'd think there'd be, like, a loud bang."

"If there was a loud bang, we'd all be in big trouble." Ronnie replies to his friend.

"Take it from the guy who helped build it." Caitlin says with a smile.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we did it." Wells tells everyone as they cheer, and clap and Wells opens that bottle.

"Look at that, big man." Peter states while giving his friend a pat on his back when suddenly he sees the hairs on his hand stand straight and he looks over to Wells and sees the Champagne rising out of the bottle and he starts getting worried.

"Senses are tingling, aren't they?" Ronnie asks Peter as the drink falls to the floor and the alarms start blaring.

"That answer your question?" Peter asks as a loud bang goes off. "I hate it when Cisco does that." He states to Ronnie.

"Does What?" Ronnie asks.

"When he predicts the future without trying. Sometimes I have to remind myself he doesn't have powers." Peter explains as they start to see what the problem is.

"There's an anomaly in the core chamber." Cisco tells them as they see the information on the computers.

"The ring's structural integrity is holding." Caitlin says from her computer.

"But it's started a chain reaction. The system is starting to collapse." Peter replies to them as he sees it happening on the monitors.

"We need to shut it down." Wells tells them.

"We can't ramp down the accelerator from here." Cisco says. "We need to do it manually."

"Me and Peter will do it." Ronnie suggests and Caitlin stops him.

"Ronnie, no!" Caitlin states.

"I'm the lead engineer. I know how to operate the shutdown valve. Cait, I have to go." Ronnie tells her and quickly kisses her and he and Peter race to the core of the accelerator.

Betty was working on controlling the gamma radiation just as someone entered her labs while she was looking at the computers information.

"Look who's hard at work." Elizabeth heard a voice she never wanted to hear again.

"What do you want, dad?" Betty questioned with a sigh. "If you haven't noticed, I'm kinda busy with something important here."

"Yeah, so busy that you can't answer any calls from your father?" Ross asks as a thunderstorm begins outside.

"Yes, I'm that busy." Betty stated while seeing her technology beginning to glitch out on her.

Once Peter and Ronnie reached the core of the accelerator, Ronnie opens the doors and turns to Peter.

"Okay, man, you gotta stay here. We've only got a few minutes before this thing blows, and if I'm not back in time, you need to initiate the lockdown." Ronnie explains to Peter and he's not okay with that plan.

"No, I'm not locking you in there. If it closes, there's no reopening." Peter protests to him.

"Peter, if you don't seal off the blast, everyone in this city will die, including Cisco and Caitlin." Ronnie explains to him.

"Then let me go, I'm faster." Peter states, knowing he could do it twice as fast as Ronnie could.

"And what if you don't make it back? The city loses Spider-Man." Ronnie informs Peter, knowing how much hope his friend gives the city and won't allow him to just die.

"And what if you don't?" Peter retaliated. "Caitlin loses you."

"Peter, we don't have time to argue about this! Now, promise me." Ronnie tells him, knowing he will keep it if it's a promise and he agrees, knowing they're wasting time like he said. "Set your watch. Two minutes, if I'm not here, close it."

But before he could even take a step, Peter smacked him across the back of the head. "Sorry, buddy." He then took off racing down the accelerator to get to work.

After a few minutes, Ronnie got back up and saw that he had a minute left on his watch and rubbed the back of his head.

"Damn you, Peter." Ronnie groaned in anger as he watches for any sign of his friend and begins to become afraid as under a minute is left when Caitlin running in and she sees the doors open and the missing friend.

"Where's Peter?" Caitlin asks him in confusion.

"I...he smacked me and ran in." Ronnie gestured to the doors just as Peter came running. "Peter! Hurry!"

Peter raced down the tunnel and made it just as their watches hit zero and Ronnie closed the doors. Peter sighed in relied as he lied down on the ground, panting in exhaustion.

Ronnie and Caitlin also signed in relief before Ronnie smacked Peter as he tried to sit up. "You idiot!"

"Love you too, buddy." Peter chuckled just as the entire building began to shake. "Is that supposed to be happening?"

The particle accelerator then sends out a shockwave of energy that begins to transmutate the entire city with Element-X and others. And the pain doesn't exactly end there as the wave of energy passes right over Mercury Labs.

Inside, Betty and Ross were still arguing back and forth, just as the wave came past and the surge caught their gamma Bomb, causing an explosion of the gas to mix in with the wave and with the two present people.

Once that happened, Betty and Ross were sent flying down the room and smashed against the wall and knocked unconscious.

Three months later, Peter was walking down the halls of the hospital and made it inside of Betty's hospital room and saw she was still in a coma after the explosion.

"How's she doing?" Peter asked the doctor in the room.

"She's stable. He vials are strong. Blood panels are still showing no backlash from the gamma radiation she was exposed to." The doctor informed him. "We're just waiting to see how long until she wakes up."

"Hm, thanks." Peter said as the doctor left the room. He then walked over the Betty's side and sat in a seat next to her bed. "I leave you alone for one night, and this is what happens?" He asked her unconscious form with a laugh. "Yeah, I know, still making terrible jokes. You know, the lab's not exactly the same without you around. It's kinda boring and quiet. Either you wake up soon, or I might start talking to myself."

Silence fills the room again and Peter just sighed and lied against the wall. Before he could get too comfortable however, his phone began to ring, and he saw it was Ronnie.

"R-Man, what's going on?" Peter asked.

"Have you seen the news?!" Ronnie asked him with fear and shock in his voice.

Quickly, Peter turned the hospital television to the news and saw as downtown was being destroyed by a hulking monster.

"Why am I not surprised by this point?" Peter questioned and quickly made his way out of the hospital and revealed his newly designed black and red upgraded outfit.

What he failed to notice was he left the news on and it continued to explain what the monster was doing, and Betty opened her eyes, revealing they've gone form light brown to becoming completely bright yellow.
