(A/N) This one takes place during Chapter 32 of Stronger Together. Gwen's dead, Peter's finally learning to move on.

Peter strolled into Al's dive bar with a sad look on his face.

It had been a month since Gwen's death and he's just trying to get out of the runt he's been in since her death. He was planning on heading back to the DEO, but wasn't feeling up to going back to work just yet.

Taking a seat at the bar, Al walked over with a sad look on his face. "Great to see you here. How you been, Peter?"

"Taking it pretty hard. I mean, what else would I do?" Peter said with a sigh. "But I decided it's not worth it just sulking at home anymore. It's not what she would've wanted."

"She was an amazing person." Al tells Peter and gave him his regular drink.

Peter thanked him for the drink and drank it down as fast as he could. Once done, he slammed the glass down, not enough to break it, but it left a small crack. Sighing in defeat, Peter leaned down and placed his elbows on the counter and had no idea what he's supposed to do now.

He was so depressed, he didn't notice the woman approaching him from behind and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You wanna talk about it?"

Peter finally looked and turned to see a woman with long flowing dirty blonde hair, dark brown eyes, and wearing a Air Force flight outfit.

"I'm...I'm sorry?" Peter asked, not expecting to be approached by someone like this.

"You look like someone with a story to tell, but no one to tell it to." She explains and takes the seat next to her him. "So, I'm here if you need to tell it to."

"Trust me...my story's not for the faint of heart." Peter warned her as he got a second drink and took another swig.

"What makes you think I have a faint heart?" She asked Peter as she also took another swig of her drink. "Try me. I dare you."

Peter looks and sees she actually cares and is willing to listen. "Okay, but first, what's your name?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize I didn't introduce myself. I'm Carol Danvers." The now named Carol introduced herself to Peter.

"Peter Parker." Peter introduced himself and saw he needed to finally tell her the tale.

It took almost two hours, but he was able to tell her his tale. Everything from his parents death, all the way to Gwen's death, just leaving out a few details like where exactly he works, she just knows it's part of the government, he left our the spider bite, and his secret identity.

"Okay, I'll admit, that is quite the tale." Carol confesses as she took a swig of a now bottle they were both sharing. "Your parents, uncle, aunt, and fiancée. Man, your life is one after another, huh?"

"I always tried to keep my life separate from my job. But no matter what, it's because of my job that I don't have a life. Maybe I should quit." Peter said as he took the bottle from her and took a giant swig. "I just wanted to keep everyone safe. Loving the safe life when away from my job. Maybe it's time I stopped."

"Stop working to save people?" Carol asked. "From what you've told me, you save a bunch of people daily. That's the type of job you can't just walk away from."

"It feels like I should." Peter commented.

Carol leaned over and placed a hand on his. "I know how it feels to loose someone. I lost my mother. My father...even my brother."

"I'm sorry to hear that." Peter tells her.

"He died in the military. My mother was devastated. And I've never given up on wanting to help people by joining the Air Force." Carol explained the point of her story. "Then my mother and brother died in a car accident...there was nothing I could do."

Peter sighed and saw she was just as messed up as he was. "Well, here's to a better future." He said as he raised the flags and clinked with Carol's glass.

"Here's to better luck in love lives." Carol agreed with him.

"Please, I was lucky enough to get one person interested in me." Peter stated as he started to feel light headed. "I think I've had enough to drink."

"Yeah, I'm getting sick of them too." Carol agreed as she was also getting dizzy from the drinks. "What do you say we get out of here?"

"Where do you want to go?" Peter asked.

"Well, I'm off duty for a few days. Want to head to my place?" Carol asked him.

Peter looked over to Carol and thinks maybe he should stop trying to play his life safely. And seems Carol is the type of danger he could get into.

Carol unlocked the door to her residence as best she could while she was currently hanging onto Peter with her legs wrapped around his waist as the two were making out.

Peter made it through the apartment thanks to his senses and dropped down on the couch with a grunt, allowing Carol to enter his mouth.

But just as Carol began to unbutton his shirt, Peter began to finally come back to his senses. Shaking his head a few times, he began to stop Carol and pulled her off him.

"Wait, wait, wait...I...I can't." Peter tells her and Carol suddenly also came to her senses.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I come on too soon?" Carol asked as she began to get off of him.

"No, it was my fault." Peter explained as he began buttoning his shirt.

"I think it's both of our faults. We've just gone a while without feeling anything." Carol took a wild guess as she pulled herself together.

"Yeah." Peter sighed as he leaned down and felt even worse than before. "It's not that I don't want to, I just..."

"Save yourself for marriage?" Carol asked.

"No, not really. It's more of a...only people I know I can trust." Peter explained to her.

"Oh, I understand that." Carol promised.

"It's not that I don't trust you, it's just..." Peter tried to find the right wording

"You don't know me enough." Carol took a wild guess.

"Yeah." Peter confirmed.

Carol nodded in understanding as she leaned against a doorway when an idea struck her mind. "You doing anything tomorrow?"

"No. Why?" Peter asked.

"I'm. It doing anything either and was thinking you wouldn't mind doing something together?" Carol asked.

"You mean like a date?" Peter asked, kinda surprised.

"Yeah. If you wanna call it that, sure." Carol supposed. "Like I said, I've got a few days off on leave. Perfect time to get to know each other."

Peter guessed that if J'onn needed him for anything world threatening, he'll give him a call. "I guess not."

"Great. I'll find us something to do." Carol promised and walked into her room, leaving a very confused Peter. He debated wether or not he was supposed to leave, Carol then exited the bedroom with a bundle of clothes. "You can wear these tonight." She said as she passed the cloths and Peter looked to see that it was a pair of male shorts and shirt. "My brother left them here, I washed them for him but just left it in case."

"Wait, you're letting me spend the night?" Peter asked, a little confused.

"Well, five minutes ago, we were so drunk we almost devoured each other. I'm pretty sure you can't drive, and don't want you wandering the streets this late." Carol listed it all to him and gestured to the couch. "The couch is a fold-up."

Peter thinks and wonders if it's worth leaving and just going home, but definitely doesn't feel up to it. "Okay, thanks."

"Bathroom down the hall, feel free to See you in the morning." Carol said and walked into the bedroom to change for the night as Peter quickly changed and got to sleep.

As Carol saw Peter was asleep, she walked over to her dresser and saw her uniform for her real job, she wasn't exactly in the Air Force. Well, she was, but she ended up working for a higher calling.

Basically means that she's a space cop for the entire galaxy, working for about anyone to keep people safe all over the galaxy.

Her uniform was all blue, all but the chest-plate area that was all bright red, and a golden star on her chest with two gold streaks underneath it going across her chest. Down her suit was red gloves for her hands, and matching red army boots.

To the universe, she was known as Captain Marvel.

(A/N) I was thinking of either having this one being a two parter, or leaving it like this and seeing if people want to see this become a story.
