As the time came, Peter and Kara make it to the building's rooftop and wait for Rhea.

"You know, you didn't have to do this," Kara tells Peter.

"Well, the alternative would be to watch my city and planet burn," Peter informs her.

"I meant because of the device, you didn't have to risk your life. Thank you for doing it anyway." Kara explains and thanks him.

"Small Fry makes you happy. I know how it feels to have that taken from you. And if I can stop it from happening, I'll do whatever I can to stop it." Peter promises and thinks about Gwen. "If this doesn't work out the way we wanted it to, I wanna say thanks. For being my friend, Skirt."

"Pleasure was all mine. Now make sure it works out the way we want it to." Kara tells him as Rhea appears with a guard.

"I see you brought some moral support," Rhea says looking at Kara.

"I see you did the same thing," Peter replies, looking at her man.

"So, once you are disposed of, I have your word that your forces will lay down arms? That the city, the nation, and the planet will be surrendered?" Rhea asks.

"As long as you pry it from my cold dead fingers," Peter promises her. "And when I defeat you, your invasion ends. You leave and never return."

Kara and her guard step back as Rhea and Peter get prepared to fight each other.

"For the Earth," Rhea says.

"For the Earth," Peter replies as she races at Peter and he activates his thrusters and flies into her and punches her, sending Rhea flying he webs her torso to pull her back and kicks her across the rooftop.

Rhea retaliates as Peter goes to hit her with one of his arms, she grabs it and throws him into a fusion box.

Peter quickly gets back up and roundhouses her, dropping Rhea.

Just then, Peter's senses go off and he looks to see the mothership and the others destroying the city.

"Skirt, get Small Fry, Boss, and Big Man, and take down those drones. I'll be fine." Peter tells her and Kara flies off to take them down with Mon-El, Martian Manhunter, and Superman.

The two continue the fight on the rooftop as explosions and screams are heard around them.

"You're getting tired." Peter was able to see after doing a scan of her health.

"Finish me, then. Hit me." Rhea dares him. "Consider or a gift."

Peter goes in and does exactly that and does a backflip kick to her chin and as she falls, he spins and kicks her in the back sending her tumbling.

"You ready to surrender?" Peter asks her.

"Hardly," Rhea says and turns to show that she's bleeding...Kryptonite? "Because of your people, Kryptonite poisoned my entire planet. I've carried it across galaxies. It's part of me now." She tells him while waiting for the kryptonite to take effect as Peter stands there confused.

"I already told you, I'm half Kryptonian. The other half isn't affected by kryptonite." Peter reminds her as he runs in, floats off the ground, and punches Rhea in the face again, making her bleed more kryptonite.

Rhea grabs Peter by the leg and breaks the roof, sending them both down. As they hit a solid floor, Rhea punches Peter through some columns and walls and his suit is starting to reboot. Rhea walks up, flies him through the roof, and slams him into it.

Peter quickly gets back up and the two starts swinging lazily as they're both getting tired.

"It won't stop here," Rhea promises Peter as she tries to punch him and Peter dodges it thanks to his senses. "There's Star City and Metropolis. I will destroy city after city until your whole world is gone." She promises as she gets a hit in and Peter drops.

Peter breathes heavily as he finds it in himself to stand up. Knowing if he failed, the earth falls and it's on him. "There's one thing you don't seem to understand...this is my world. And I will protect it until my last breath!"

That's when his system fully reboots and he sends a large repulsor blast at her chest, leaving a gaping hole where her heart should be. Rhea gasped for breath as she was shocked at what he had done. He was willing to kill to save his world. He would do anything so that the world Gwen loved would stay standing.

Peter stood tall as Rhea fell over and he remained victorious. Looking behind him, he saw Kara standing (well, floating) there and was shocked at his outcome. But she knew that what he said was true. He was going to do anything to protect his world. Even if it meant breaking his code at least once.

One person for the safety of the entire human race and all of Earth.

And with the death of their leader, the DEO started to fire back at the invading forces as they left them alone. The world was finally safe and secure, and the Daxam race would never return to their world.

That night, the city has already started cleaning up the destruction the invaders left behind and they're all back at the DEO Clark has already left back to Metropolis. It had been one hellish day for everyone. One way or the other.

Peter needed to get some air after deleting the GWEN system from his data, just watching everything from the shores of the city. J'onn declared he should take some time off and focus on himself. Between what happened between Gwen and Rhea, he faced a lot of heartaches and deserved the break.

"I was told I might find you here." Lena Luthor called out, getting Peter's attention away from the water and towards her. "Rough day on the job?"

Peter laughed as he looked out into the water again. "That's an understatement at its finest."

"You did what you had to do," Lena said as she walked over and stood aside from him, leaning on the railing. "For Earth. For Kara. That monster wasn't going to stop until she got what she wanted."

"And all she wanted was her family back together." Peter sighed as he couldn't believe how innocent her intentions sounded. "I mean, she was a craving lunatic at the end, but that's all she wanted."

"It's all any of us want, isn't it?" Lena asks him. "To have someone to love us?"

"Yeah. And here we are, you with an ex who was turned into microbots and me with a deceased fiancée who was killed by a Goblin." Peter recalled their love life and couldn't imagine this would be his life. "I think both of us need a long vacation."

Lena chuckled and had to agree. "Yeah."

Time passes, and Kara got the man of her dreams.

Mon-El and Kara were able to have the life that they wanted, and even managed to get married. Peter was there of course, happy for the two, watching the two have their happy beginning to a long life.

"So, I guess you didn't bring a plus-one either?" Lena asks, getting Peter to stop focusing on the happy couple.

"Uh, yeah, the downside to being single... well, almost widowed," Peter replied as Lena joined him. "How's the bridesmaid?"

"Doing better than the Best Man it seems." Lena guessed as she saw he wasn't having the best time. "It must be hard. Seeing them happy."

"No," Peter assured her with ease and smiled. "It's easy. Seeing them happy...it makes me glad that I managed to stop Rhea. At least one of us managed to get a happy ending."

Lena rolled her eyes and smiled. "I can't believe that you can be like that. You are just...looking for the ray of sunshine in the rainy sky."

"It's been the only way I've kept going," Peter admitted with a sigh. "Without that way of thinking, I'd have nothing left."

"You'd bender have nothing," Lena promised as she leaned over and took his hand. "After everything you've been through, you deserve to be happy."

"I think that the universe is telling me a different story." Peter scoffed and took a glass. "God, I wish I could get drunk."

"Ugh, I don't know. It's a pain in the morning." Lena scoffed, having a few hangovers herself.

"I'd just wanna just forget about my troubles for one night," Peter said as he looked at the glass. "Do something I'll regret later."

"Well, that's what weddings are for, now isn't it?" Lena joked as she leaned into her purse, taking out a small vial. "Here."

"What's that?" Peter wonders as he looked it over.

"Something I concocted for Kara and you. Figured your DNA would need a bit of a kick to get you through the night." Lena explains to him what it was and why she handed it to him. "I gave Kara a few vials. Add it to any drink, you'll feel the full effect."

Peter looked down at the vial and decided to go for it and then poured the vial into the drink. "If this kills me, I expect an apology in your eulogy."

Lena rolled her eyes and watched as he downed the drink. "Something tells me you've never drank before."

"I've drank before. Only in the alien bar." Peter stated as he gagged on the drink. "First time feeling real alcohol!"

Lena chuckled and knew that he would have a moment like that. "You plan to slow down now?"

"You kidding?" Peter asked as he reached for another glass. "I'm not finished yet."

"Drink our sorrows away." Lena decided and took a glass of her own.

The two of them shared a few drinks with one another as everyone around them were dancing. As she watched them dance, she thought it might be a good idea to try and get Peter up.

"You know, I think it's traditional for the best man and bridesmaid to share a dance." Lena informed Peter.

"Trust me, you don't wanna try it." Peter warned her.

Lena however seemed insistent on the idea as she stood up and held a hand for him to take. "Let me be the judge to that."

Peter shrugged and decided to just go with it. He took her hand and she led him over to the dance floor.

Peter had to admit that Lena wasn't a half bad of a dancer. And to his surprise, he wasn't half bad himself.

Just the two of them.

It wasn't half bad of an idea, was it?
