"Is it tomorrow?" Sitting on the same tree on the day we met. The tree is vibrant green, protecting us from the summer heat. Rebecca and I hold each other's hands with her head leaning onto my shoulder. The sun is setting as we savor the last moment we have until I have to leave her.

"Yes," I answered her question with finality.

"Do you have to go? We could've gone to college together." I school my head hearing her question.

"No. I wanted this Rebecca." I said with no hint of regret. She takes her head off my shoulder and kisses me. I was surprised by her move but not choosing to resist it. She stopped and looked me in the eye endearly.

"When you get back will you marry me?" My heart beat faster when she asked me that question. Not having the words that I can form to answer, I decided to act by kissing her.

"Does that answer your question?" I smiled. The redhead blushed and then nodded meekly pulling out a simple circular locket made out of steel she then adorned it around my neck. Opening the locket I see Rebecca's picture of her smiling conservatively. "Before you asked I bought it with my own money from my part-time jobs, not from my parents."

"It's beautiful," she smiled, hearing my approval of the Locket, and snuggled to my side. with my chin on top of her head, I focused on the picture of Rebecca Smiling because of how beautiful she is.

"Hey bro is that your girlfriend?" I closed the locket and put it back in my pocket. The guy sitting next to me on the plane is a Latino American with a bald head wearing standard American army gear.

"Yes. Alejandro, that's my girlfriend. She's hot right," he rolled his eyes after hearing my obvious attempt to brag about my girlfriend. I can only laugh seeing his reaction. The other guys in the C-17 turn their heads to see what is the commotion awakened from their sleep.

"Yeah, yeah your girlfriend gave you a locket, big deal. My mom gave me her sandals!" he laughed only to subside when he saw my deadpan face. "what?"

"Lame joke," I said simply.

"Fuck you Naru!" I laughed seeing his overreaction.

"The both of you shut up!" the guy in front of us shouted. "Some of us are trying to sleep here!" The rest of the trip is peaceful with the sound of people snoring filling the plane. A couple of hours later the company commander stands up from his seat to wake up the other guys.

'So much for sleeping,' I mused.

"This is your captain speaking in 10 minutes. We will touch down at Kabul airport. Please fasten your seatbelt and ready your equipment.

"You've never told me you got a girlfriend," Alejandro said while adorning his bag. "You don't trust me enough?" I shake my head.

"I forgot. Besides, she's not my girlfriend anymore," a grimace could be seen on him when I said that.

"Sorry to hear that man," he sounded like he was pitying me. I raised my eyebrows.

"Yeah 'cause she's my fiance now." A large grin can be seen on me as he grew tired of me bragging.

"You know you're going to die right if we follow movie logic," Alejandro said to me jokingly.

"Good, we are not in a movie," the place touchdown at Kabul International airport smoothly as the pilot who's piloting the plane is a veteran at transporting troops and material. The C-17 taxing on the runway before stopping and opening its door the company's commander told us to stand up in formation. Stepping out of the plane the morning sun blinded me for a second and greeted by the cold chili morning temperature of mountainous Afghanistan.

"Welcome to Kabul," said Alejandro.

101ST AIRBORNE, 2nd BATTALION, AFGHANISTAN.

Walking on the pavement of the airport I can see more transport planes landing and other U.S troops walking beside our formation. U.S. army apache helicopters roam the sky flying to conduct a mission. The wind can be felt dry and cold.

"Easy company!" an officer that is probably a major called us. "Where's your CO?" He asked. Our commander walked in front of him and saluted.

"Edward B. Bankton, Captain of easy company reporting sir!" We followed suit saluting the major.

"At ease, I am Major General John F Campbell. From today onward you the 2nd battalion and the 327th battalion will be under my command. My only advice to you all: keep your heads down and don't ever call any CO or NCO by rank hooah?" said the major.

"HOOAH!!" all of us replied.

"Good. So who's the greatest shot?" asked the major general. And I raised my hand.

"That will be me, sir," he nodded.

"Who's the strongest?" I raised my arm again.

"That again would be me, sir." he blinked for a second.

"Runner?" He asked this time with a bit of confusion.

"That would be me again sir." he guffawed at my revelation.

"Son, what's your name?" He asked.

"Nathaniel Russel… sir." He blinked and blinked, finding my name familiar.

''Wait you're Michael kid?' he asked and I nodded. "That explains everything. Enough of that your Barack has been cleaned. Captain Edward, you may lead them. Dismissed." He saluted and we saluted back.

"Cmon mary sue let's go," Alejandro said cheekily.

"Fuck off."

"Alright listen up. We have a mission with the 327th Bt, 6th CAV, and the Afghan national army. Our mission is to patrol this area." he pointed to a region near the Pakistani border. "Kunar province. Our mission is to take out a warlord. We will enter the location via air assault. Does everyone understand?" Captain Edward asked us.

"No sir, we understand." he nodded, hearing my and every squad leader's response.

"Naru, I want you and your squad to take points. Secure the LZ and make sure the rest of the company touches down safely. Can you do that?"

"No order is too hard sir," I said with a grin.

"Good. Ready your men, the hawks will depart in 10 minutes. Hooah." he saluted us and saluted back while saying another hooah. Walking to my squad barrack I screamed at Alejandro who was my second in command.

"Alejandro! Ready the men, we have a mission!" The rest of my squad is playing cards on the table waiting for orders to take action against the enemy. He followed my order and immediately went to ready the rest of the troops. I went to the armory to take my weapon that is being fixed by the armorer. "Is she alright?" The armorer who's writing something looks up at me for a moment then pulls out my M4.

"I don't know how you've done it and frankly I don't care, you grunts are always breaking my wargear. " I rubbed the back of my head in embarrassment.

"Sorry," he sighed, hearing me.

"The trigger has been fixed. I've attached the new ACOG scope for the team leader to use in their rifle. " I was about to reach for my gun when he pulled it out from me. "Don't break it again, you understand." I nodded and he gave me my rifle. "Good. Off you go." he shooed me. I left the armory to grab the rest of my gear.

Inside the company locker room, I adorned my god-awful UCP uniform and body armor. Strapping my helmet but a bit loose anticipating Afghanistan heat. The rest of the room is also my other squad members talking with each other while wearing their gear. Grabbing 7 mags I ordered the rest of my men to hurry up and waited at the helipad.

"You Sargeant Nathaniel?" one of the helicopter ground crew asked me and I nodded confirming him. "Sign here." I sighed and signed the paper. I fucking hate military bureaucracy. I waited for the rest of my squad who arrived 2 minutes later ready to go. Briefing my men about the mission they're slightly apprehensive about being the first to land so we can clear the LZ.

"Does anyone have any questions?"

"no, sir." one of them said.

"Good. Let's do our mission." he saluted me, Alejandro, and 8 more guys entered the blackjack with me sitting near the door.

"You guys going to Kunar?" asked the pilot.

"Yeah, why? Is there something wrong with that place?" I asked the pilot.

"You guys are going to get surrounded by Talibs. I wouldn't be in your position if I were you." I groaned hearing him. The engine started to roar being imitated by the other engines of the other squads.

"Way to go giving us moral asshole," I said sarcastically and he only laughed seeing my reaction.

"I'll make it up to you," he turned on the radio.

(Play: fortunate son)

'Well, this mission just got more epic.'

The helicopter rose from the ground with the morning sun accompanying us, my feet dangling in the air as we left Kabul airport. The formation of Blackhawk can be seen behind us. Below is the city of Kabul full of people on the ground minding their own business. Soldiers joking and talking are full on the helicopter.

Entering the mountainous region we readied our weapons in case of any shoulder fire missile or small arms fire directed our way. We never know what these people can do they've driven off the soviets and they have the fucking experience to drive us off. While the situation is tense. I can't help but be uplifted by the music even if it's an anti-war song it's been ironically being associated with war. The most useless war in American history to be exact. Adding a double layer of irony as listening to it. I am currently in America's most useless war. Where innocent young men and women will die for their country thinking to themselves that they're doing it to protect their homeland.

While the bitter truth is… their death achieved nothing. It was supposed to be a quick war. Now it is the war. A war that will define countless generations. 'I hope my work here will mean something in the future.'

(Fortunate son ends.)

"Approaching LZ, prepare yourself." said the co-pilot

"Any bogeys?"

"Negative, I didn't see anything in my camera," said the co-pilot, "ETA 3 minutes."

'Kurama I need you to calculate my shots you've awake buddy?' Kurama is in America with mom, unfortunately, the army forbids pets of any kind. He can't help me accept giving me information about my surroundings when I'm in sage mode which I always am when I'm in combat. Doing calculations for my shot, helping me hack technology, etc, etc. He's basically like Cortana to me. If Cortana is one giant furball.

'Yeah, yeah I'm awake. Just make the call and I'll help you.' That's good to hear.

"I want a perimeter around the landing some the moment we're on the ground," I ordered my troops.

"Sir yes sir." Our LZ is near a village where we plan to set up as a base of our operations specifically on a ridge overlooking it in the hopes that the village elder can be convinced to our side. As the nose of the helicopter went up. We land smoothly without any gunfire or anything hostile greeting us. Only sheep and civilians were curious about our arrival. My men and I step out of the helicopter while carrying our supplies and gear forming a circular formation on the helicopter that already leaves us.

Taking out my Bino I look at the mountains for any heavy machine gun nest that would ambush us. Seeing there's no enemy in sight and sage mode, I radio in the rest of the company and forces. "This is Sergeant Nathaniel Russel reporting that the LZ is clear over.

"copy Nathaniel the rest of the company will land. In the meantime I want you and some of your men to scout ahead to the village. Is that clear, over?" said Captain Edward.

"Copy over. David! Kerry! You two are with me, we're going to scout ahead! Alejandro, you and the rest of the squad are going to guard the LZ." I ordered my men.

"Why is it always us getting the end of the stick?" Said David with a sigh. Kerry nudges David with force.

"Shut it, man," he said. Ignoring them, making my way to the ridge of the mountain followed by a reluctant subordinate. I crawl down to avoid enemy suspicion. Taking out my m4 using its scope and sensing using my sage mode, I tried to find an enemy in the village. The two men who are with me pull out their rifles using their ACOGs to also look at the village. "See anything Sarge?" asked Kerry.

"There's a guy growing opium in their backyard, other than that it's normal," I look through my scope surveying the area. The rest of the company and elements of the 327th already landed I know because other sounds of helicopters landing can be heard. "Wait a minute I see someone." A man on the mountain behind the village looking at us from above camouflage blends perfectly with his surroundings.

"Where, Sarge?" asked David.

"900 meters, near that rock formation," I relayed the info.

"Holy shit you have one good eye, Sarge," ignoring David, I radioed the captain.

"This is Nathaniel. I spotted an enemy scout on the mountain, permission to take him out, over."

"Copy Nathan, permission granted, over." said the captain. Lining up my shot, I called Kurama.

'Kurama?'

'3 notches up, the wind is a bit heavy on the left 1 notched course correction to the right,' following Kurama's command my sight perfectly lining up to his head pulling the trigger softly it takes a couple of seconds until the bullet hits their target.

"Sarge, you've just shot a Talib over 900 meters using 5.56 what are you??!" asked Kerry. I stood up from my shooting position and made my way to the rest of the forces.

"just a normal guy."

Major John is negotiating with the village elders to let us stay the night while the rest of the allied forces are setting up a perimeter. The 327th takes the south side while the 2nd battalion will guard the north. Our position is a stretch and it's clear. We need more reinforcement. Knowing this the major called out for more reinforcement from the Afghan national army and elements from the 6th us cavalry division.

"Why does it have to be the Afghan army," Alejandro groaned.

"What's wrong with them?" I asked Alejandro.

"My big bro toured last year. The stories I heard from him about the Afghans made me not want to fight with them," said Alejandro.

"So they're incompetent?" Alejandro nodded. "Great. I can already tell we're going to mesh just fine." It was a few days later for the Afghan national army and the 6th to arrive the commander of the ANA Jamsheed carried an RPG as his main weapon and only RPG. The next couple of days just mainly setting up the patrol path and sniffing out the Talibs from their foxhole in the valley. A pretty boring thing to do, not gonna lie. I was expecting more action for my deployment. There's also this journalist snooping around us and generally being annoying. When he found out who I was, my team was continuously being followed by him.

"So Nathan, you're pretty famous in America, why did you decide to join the army? I heard that you were given a chance to enter a scholarship from Harvard." asked the annoying journalist.

"Ooh someone being interviewed," my subordinate hyphenated me.

"Don't make us look like slackers, Sarge!!" I facepalmed hearing them being annoying. Glaring at them made them shut their mouths.

"I just want to join. In the footsteps of my family, both of my parents came from a military family. So I think I just felt it was my duty to follow the family tradition." I answered the journalist's question.

'Spoken like a true politician.' I heard Kurama.

'Shhh.'

"Curious why didn't you join officer scho-

Bang

I immediately took cover on the ground dragging the journalist with me.

"MEN DOWN!!" more suppressing fire comes to our way, bullets wheezing in the air making it almost impossible for us to return fire.

"Ugh, I've been hit." David was pushed to the ground because of the force from the bullet. "I don't want to die, I don't want to die!!" The medic that's in our team immediately takes off David's body armor trying to close the wound.

"You stay here!" I ordered the journalist and made my way to David and the medic. "How is he doc?"

"The body armor takes the majority of the hit but that bullet was 7.62 our body armor can only withstand 5.56." said the doctor.

"In English!!"

"He's going to be fine." With that information I radioed, Command.

"This is Sergeant Nathaniel from easy company. We are taking heavy fire from…" I distance the radio for a second. "Kerry, where are we taking shots from?!!!"

"12 a clock 400 meters in the mountains range above us north!" an RPG impacted near us. Flinging up debris.

"from 12 a clock 400 meters in the mountains range above us north. One of my soldiers is wounded, Requesting reinforcement." Hell no we're fighting these many people just by the gunfire alone there are probably 200 people out there. There's no way a squad is enough to fight that many troops.

"Negative Nathan. All fighting positions from alpha to gamma are under attack by enemy machine gun emplacements were all on down! Hold on for a minute an Apache is being redirected our way." we don't have a fucking minutes these guys have RPGs."For now, I want you and your squad to retreat and rendezvous at the village we will defend there. Is that understood? over."

"We're under heavy gunfire sir there's no way we can retreat to the village!" As I said that, I can sense in my sage mode that the machine gun that was firing at us is currently reloading, giving us enough breathing room to return fire but not retreat.

"If you can retreat, send one of your guys to carry the Wounded while the rest of your squad will cover them. I've given similar orders to all other fighting positions. A transport helicopter is on its way to carry the wounded Over."

"Copy that sir. Over. Kerry! I want you and doc to carry David to base. There is a transport heli' that'll carry them to be treated."

"What about you and the rest of the squad sir?" asked the Kerry.

"Well cover you."

"B-but sir…"

"Get your ass MOVING!!" hearing my command the doc and him carried David. I and the rest of the squad provide cover fire. By suppressing the enemy. 'Kurama!!'

'I know'

With Kurama's help easily landed headshots. "1 down, 2 down, 3 down, 4 down…." in the next magazine I lost count. We are holding out until they pull out a fucking mortar. Pounded and pounded by 120 mm shells we have been pinned again. "Where is that fucking Apache!!"

"This is Cormack 5-51. awaiting for attack coordinates," well that's convenient

(A/N: his COD point is finally enough to call one.)

"Cormack 5-51 this is sergeant Nathaniel requesting fire toward the enemy at 12 o'clock 400 meters in the mountains range above us north over."

"copy initiating gun run." The chopper flew above us, its buzzing metal deaf the ear. Rotating its 30 mm chain gun toward the enemy each of those rounds can explode. Destroying any cover the talking has. Just to make sure the chopper launches its hellfire missile at the enemy fighting position.

"yeah!! America motherfucker!!!" Yelled one of the troops. I can't help but smile seeing The scene. That smile disappeared instantly when a shoulder-fired missile was shot at the apache. The apache tried to evade and fool the missile with flare but it was useless; the range was too short for any defending maneuver. The missile strikes true, hitting the helicopter engine like a moth finding a light source. The roaring engine was killed, losing its power with fire ablaze. The pilot tried to control the helicopter so it could at least make him survive the crash. The rest of my squad can only watch helplessly as the chopper falls from the sky.

"How the fuck did the Taliban still have a stinger missile! Command the apache is down, I repeat the apache is down!" There was a silence from command as I relayed the information but eventually they responded.

"Nathan, I want you to protect the crash site until pararescue arrives," said the major.

"But major, the pilot crashed near the enemy. If pararescue came here the pilot would already be dead. Permission to save him, sir."

"What!! negative!!! You'll be killed. I don't want more men being killed under my command! I want your squad to retreat to base now we've set up a defendable position. I order you to retreat!" There was silence on my part as I considered my options.

"I'll order my squad to retreat sir." there was a sigh of relief from the major. " But I'll save the pilot alone."

"What! Nathan-" I cut off the radio.

"Alright listen up! Alejandro, I want you to lead the squad to base." I ordered him.

"What about you Naru?"

"I have a pilot to save." he was about to call me stupid but he stopped mid-sentence and then sighed.

"You're going to do it, aren't you?" I nodded. "Whatever, if I know anyone who could pull it off, it's probably you. C'mon everyone let Mary Sue do his work." They started to walk toward the base. Alejandro gives me one last look only to be given a middle finger from me. He smiled seeing it.

"Alright, you're ready, Kurama?" I reloaded my m4.

"Always," I smirked hearing his response.

"Good." I cocked the gun then ran full speed with the help of chakra. I jump obstacles such as rocks and bushes. Feeling gunfire fired at me. I dodge them with relative ease with the help of sage mode. The Talibs seeing my moves started to panic and aim at me with a DSHK heavy machine gun. 'Oh wow, I'm so scared, they're shooting me with a slower caliber.' jumping through the air to the amazement of the enemy below. I shoot with rapid fire killing the Taliban. Having run out of ammo in my assault rifle; remembering advice from captain price, I pull out my knife and pistol. Landing with a roll slashing the nearest Taliban killing him instantly, sensing a Talib aiming his gun at me I shot my pistol 2 times before he could pull the trigger. I was about to reload my m4 when 7 more Talibs arrived. They shoot at me and I take cover behind the downed chopper.

Trying to surprise them I jumped over the chopper shooting my gun 2 times at each enemy with the last one I ran out of bullets and decided to throw my knife. Hitting the center of his forehead killing him instantly. "finally I can reload my fucking gun." The helicopter hatch opened, surprising me revealing two pilots that had clearly seen better days.

"How the fuck did you do that!!!" I forgot that in an Apache helicopter pilot helmet, everyone has a camera.

"Oh fuck."

"Nathaniel Russell," Obama said my name, the flashing of cameras can be heard.

(A/N: this fic is amazing Naruto meets barrack Obama ahahahaha.)

"For your action to defy enemy fire," said OBAMA!!!!

'I should've been in court martial!!'

"Taking our insurmountable amount of enemies," said barrack freaking Obama. Note insurmountable, equals to 76 confirmed kills. My family is here dad is crying full of pride same with mom while Rebecca and Aaron are trying their damn hardest not to laugh. Both of them know what's on my mind.

"And saving two down pilots from their demise." Someone leaked the footage to liveleak and I'm now famous again. Becoming a poster child for the army after that is really hard.

"I gave you the medal of honor," Obama (I can't take this seriously.) put the medal on my neck.

'This is a weird year.'

Again I'm not American

Ugh, I laughed so hard writing this fic. I can't believe I made Naruto meet Obama.

Ahahajha

It's the Battle of BarawalaKalay Valley.
