Chapter-9: The Guild

They arrived in Magnolia , the city the Fairy tail guild was in. A quite big city , too noisy for Natsu's taste .

Fairy Tail's headquarters resided in an imposing building consisting of three floors and incorporating several architectonic styles: it took on a shape reminiscent of a pagoda, with each floor being smaller than the one below it and sitting on the latter's roof. The roofs also bore great resemblance to those of real pagoda, consisting of extremely long, arched tiles lined up one after the other and possessing simple curved protrusions jutting upwards on the building's angles. On the highest roof, topping the summit of the building, sat a simple, round and pointed dome, highly reminiscent of those seen on Arabian buildings, which bore a flag on its point. The roof below the one with the dome, the middle one, housed a large banner with Fairy Tail's symbol on it, held up by a pair of vertical poles. The building's large entrance was again Arabian in design, with its shape being reminiscent of that of the dome on the summit, and above it was the guild's name, topped by a protruding, stylized heart shape and flanked by a pair of carved fairies. Stylized heart shapes were also visible on the frames of the numerous, large pentagonal windows located on each floor, with the top floor housing smaller, arched windows partially covered by banners.

,,Well here we are '' said Makarov

,,It's … interesting " said Seilah

,,Architecture changed a lot, in the last … actually what year is it ?.''asked Natsu

,,It's the year 777 . Exactly 400 years since the eclipse .'' answered Makarov

Natsu growled at the thought of the eclipse, the idea of having to run still greatly annoying him.

,,Well are you going in or not ?'' said Seilah . She hid her horns already to not draw too much attention . Natsu did no such thing , his glowing slitted silver eyes already having drawn attention on their journey here.

They stepped into the guild .. right into a massive fight .

,,Is this normal ?'' asked Seilah

Sighing Makarov respended ,,Unfortunately yes.''

Natsu chuckles at that.

As they reached the center of the guild hall, Makarov turned to address the assembled members, his voice ringing out above the noise.

"Listen up, everyone!" he called out, his tone commanding attention. "I have two new members to introduce to you all."

The guild members paused in their activities, turning their attention to Makarov and the newcomers at his side. Some looked curious, while others seemed indifferent, but all eyes were on Natsu and Seilah as they stood before the guild.

"These two are Natsu and Seilah," Makarov continued, gesturing to each of them in turn. "They're joining us as new members of Fairy Tail."

A murmur of interest rippled through the crowd as the guild members exchanged curious glances. Natsu couldn't help but notice the way some of them eyed him with suspicion, their gazes lingering on his glowing slitted silver eyes .

Meanwhile, the other children of Fairy Tail began to approach them, their curiosity piqued by the presence of the newcomers. They bombarded him with questions, eager to learn more about their mysterious new guildmates.

But Natsu paid them little mind, until he locked eyes with a red head , looking directly into his eyes .

,,You want something?'' asked Natsu

,,S-soryy , it's just your eyes are … quite your hair.'' She said .

Natsu chuckles at that.

,,I'm Erza ." she said, looking at the sword he was holding .

Natsu chuckled at Erza's comment about his eyes and hair, the amusement evident in his expression. "Yeah, they tend to grab people's attention," he replied nonchalantly, his slitted silver eyes glinting with mischief.

Erza nodded, a hint of curiosity lingering in her gaze. "So, what kind of magic do you specialize in?" she asked, her tone polite but curious.

Natsu flashed her a smirk. "Well, let's just say I've got a little bit of everything up my sleeve," he replied cryptically, his tone teasing. "But I most of the time use dragon slayer magic , the others are overkill in situations when death is unneeded .

Erza's eyebrows raised in surprise at Natsu's response, her interest piqued. "Dragon slayer magic? That's quite impressive," she remarked, her tone filled with admiration. "I've heard tales of dragon slayers, but I've never had the pleasure of meeting one before."

Natsu grinned, enjoying the attention. "Yeah, it definitely comes in handy," he replied, his tone tinged with pride.,,The best elemental magic , only and idiot dragon would lose an elemental battle to an inferior element.''

Erza chuckled at Natsu's confidence, finding his bravado amusing. "Well, I suppose that's one way to look at it," she replied with a playful glint in her eye. "But there's more to magic than just raw power. Strategy and skill play a crucial role in any battle."

,,Not to dragons, no ,elemental dragon magic gives the user immunity to their element and the ability to eat said element draconic elements like fire , lighting and other natural elements are at their best superior than even their divine and demonic counterparts let alone mortal magic.''

Erza raised an eyebrow at Natsu's bold assertion, her curiosity piqued by his unwavering confidence. "Immunity and the ability to consume elements... That does sound formidable," she admitted, her tone thoughtful. "But surely there are weaknesses and limitations to consider?"

Natsu shook his head adamantly, his expression earnest. "Dragon slayer magic may have its drawbacks, not to me tho.''he countered, a smirk playing on his lips.

Erza regarded him with a mixture of skepticism and intrigue, her gaze searching his face for any hint of doubt. "You seem awfully sure of yourself," she remarked, her tone tinged with amusement. "But even the strongest mages have their limits."

,,Please i am more that a "mage''. said Natsu

,,What do you mean by that ?'' asked Erza .

,,There is more to reality than just ''mages '' . Have you ever heard of Arch class? Y'know like Arch Demon , Arch Mage , and other things like that ? Well there's more than even that, what's the point of limiting myself to a mere mage .

Erza regarded Natsu with a raised eyebrow, intrigued by his cryptic words. "Arch class, you say?" she repeated, her curiosity piqued. "I've heard of such titles, but they're often associated with legendary beings of immense power. Are you suggesting that you belong to such a class?"

Natsu shrugged casually, a smirk playing on his lips. "Let's just say I'm not your average mage," he replied cryptically, his silver eyes gleaming with mischief. "There are forces at play in this world and the others that extend far beyond the realm of ordinary magic, and I intend to explore them all."

,,So what exactly can you do? Are you a sword user ?''

Natsu glanced down at theYamato in his hand, a thoughtful expression crossing his features. "A sword user, huh?" he mused, running his fingers along the hilt of the weapon. "I wouldn't say I'm a traditional sword user, i quite like using swords .''

,,So many questions you ask me , what about you ? What can you do ?"

Erza's lips curved into a small smile at Natsu's response, appreciating his honesty and the hint of admiration in his tone. "I'm a swordswoman myself," she replied, her voice tinged with pride. "But I also specialize in requip magic, allowing me to summon and wield various weapons and armors in battle."

Natsu chuckled at Erza's mention of requip magic, a knowing glint in his silver eyes. "Requip, huh? That's a handy skill to have," he remarked, his tone casual yet appreciative. "I dabble in it myself, among other things."

Beside Natsu, Seilah nodded in agreement, her own interest piqued by the conversation. "Requip magic is quite versatile," she added, her tone calm and measured.

Erza nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Indeed," she agreed, a sense of camaraderie forming between them. "It's always good to have a few tricks up your sleeve."

With a playful smirk, Natsu leaned in closer to Erza, his silver eyes twinkling with mischief. "Of course, that's not all I can do," he teased, his tone laced with playful ambiguity. "But a magician never reveals all his secrets, now does he?"

,,But dont worry not here to cause world ending problems, here for the entertainment.''

Erza chuckled softly at Natsu's playful banter, enjoying the camaraderie that was developing between them. "I'm glad to hear that," she replied, her tone light. "We have enough trouble without adding world-ending problems to the mix."

Natsu grinned, a mischievous glint in his silver eyes. "Exactly," he agreed, his voice tinged with amusement. "Besides, where's the fun in causing chaos and no one to actually challenge ? ''

Erza tilted her head, a curious expression on her face. "So, what do you believe strength is for, then?" she asked, her tone thoughtful.

Natsu scoffed lightly, his silver eyes flashing with skepticism. "Strength is simple," he replied bluntly. "It's about survival, dominance, and proving your worth in a world where power rules. Anyone who thinks it's about some sappy notion of friendship or bonds is deluding themselves."

Erza raised an eyebrow at his dismissive tone, but she remained composed. "But what about loyalty? Protecting those you care about?" she countered, her voice calm but firm.

,,If you don't have power , you can't even protect yourself let alone someone else.''

Erza regarded Natsu with a thoughtful expression, considering his words carefully. "Strength for survival and dominance," she mused, repeating his sentiments. "But is there not strength in unity as well? Working together to overcome challenges and protect each other?"

Natsu shrugged, his smirk unwavering. "Unity is overrated," he replied dismissively. "In the end, it's every man for himself. "

Erza's gaze softened with empathy, understanding the skepticism in Natsu's words. "Perhaps," she conceded, "but there's also strength in bonds forged through shared experiences and mutual respect. Sometimes, it's not just about individual power, but what you can achieve together."

,,Bonds ,friendship and comadre have nothing to do with battle. Power wins battles not Friendship , if that false power was separated into many pisces than the one who lost deserved to.''

Erza's expression remained steady, though a hint of sadness flashed in her eyes. "I understand your perspective," she replied calmly, "but I believe that true strength lies not only in power, but also in the bonds we form with others. It's those bonds that give us the courage to face even the most daunting challenges."

Natsu's smirk widened at Erza's words, his disbelief evident. "Courage is meaningless without power to back it up," he retorted, his tone firm. "And those who rely on bonds and friendship in battle are only setting themselves up for failure."

,,You want to live your life among friends and forge Bonds fine , but keep you childish ideas outside the battlefield , battle is not for the week.''

Erza nodded solemnly, her gaze unwavering despite Natsu's dismissive words. "I respect your beliefs," she replied evenly, "but I still hold firm to mine. Strength may be important, but it's not the only factor that determines victory in battle."

,,But it is , that's the only true law of reality one that every beings follows Demons,Dragons,Gods what you have is not a fact or a belief it's a dream a false illusion to hide yourself from the truth of the you want to keep someone or something safe if you want to protect your idea of ''good'' you must be a monster to your enemies and force of what they call ''evil''.''

''What you consider good some else considers evil , everything has two sides ,you simply refuse to see the other side.''

Erza listened to Natsu's words, her expression thoughtful as she considered his perspective. There was a hardness in his beliefs, forged by the harsh realities he had faced, yet she sensed a hint of vulnerability beneath his tough exterior.

Erza began, her voice gentle yet firm, "I can't help but feel that there's more to this world than just power and dominance. Yes, strength is important, but so is compassion, empathy, and understanding."

Natsu's smirk softened slightly, his silver eyes flickering with curiosity as he regarded Erza. "Compassion and empathy won't win you battles," he countered, his tone less confrontational than before. "But they might just save your soul."

Erza smiled faintly, touched by the sincerity in Natsu's words. "Perhaps you're right," she conceded, a sense of warmth blooming within her heart. "Maybe there's room for both strength and compassion in this world. Maybe we don't have to choose one over the other."

,,Perhaps.." said Natsu

,,Well I am quite curious about what you can do with that sword , how about a little spar ?"said Erza

Natsu's smirk widened at Erza's proposition, a glint of excitement dancing in his silver eyes. "A spar, huh? I'd be happy to oblige," he replied, his voice laced with anticipation.

Erza nodded, her own determination shining through. "Don't hold back now," she teased, a competitive edge creeping into her tone. "I won't go easy on you."

,,Well don't disappoint me ginger .'' said Natsu amusingly .

They left the guild hall , some members following them to watch them .

As Natsu and Erza stepped onto the training grounds, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation. The other members of Fairy Tail gathered around, eager to witness the clash between two of their strongest mages.

,,C'mon '' said Natsu who held his sword without drawing it .

Erza, her determination shining through, summoned a greatsword with determination. Despite her age, she wielded it with the confidence of a seasoned warrior, her gaze locked on Natsu with unwavering focus.

Erza dashed first, raising the greatsword above her head to strike at Natsu .

Natsu instead of retreating simply puts the Yamato still sheathed in front of the greatsword path and stops the blow without flinching .

,,What?'' Erza asked, shocked. He stopped her blow like she just threw a ball at him .

,,You'll need to do better than that.'' Natsu said as he smiled .

Erza back up a. She now realises that for all he said he also has the power to back t up .

As Erza's frustration mounted, she decided to escalate the battle. With a determined expression, she began to weave spells, each one more powerful than the last, in an attempt to break through Natsu's seemingly impenetrable defenses.

Erza's first spell manifested as a swirling vortex of wind, aimed to disorient Natsu and create an opening for her attack. The gale howled around him, whipping up dirt and debris, but Natsu stood firm, his stance unwavering as he weathered the gusts with ease. He watched Erza's every move, his silver eyes shining with anticipation.

Undeterred, Erza followed up with a barrage of magical projectiles, each one propelled with precision and force. Blades of light and energy sliced through the air toward Natsu, but he merely raised his hand, conjuring a barrier of energy that deflected the onslaught effortlessly. Sparks flew as the projectiles collided with the shield, but Natsu remained unscathed.

As Erza continued to push forward, her spells grew in intensity and complexity. She summoned pillars of fire that danced around Natsu, attempting to trap him within their scorching embrace. The flames licked at his heels, but Erza forgot he was a dragon slayer.

The fire and the rest of the elemental magic that remain in proximity was drawn to his outstretched right hand into a ball of elements Natsu then proceeded to eat them.

With a swift motion, Natsu absorbed the flames and other elemental energies into his being, his silver eyes gleaming with power as he harnessed their strength. The heat washed over him, invigorating rather than scorching, fueling the fiery resolve within him.

"Is that all you've got?" Natsu taunted, his voice ringing out with confidence. "You'll have to do better than that to even scratch me."

Erza gritted her teeth, her determination unwavering despite Natsu's defiance. Drawing upon her reserves of magic, she conjured a massive wave of energy, channeling it into a devastating spell aimed directly at Natsu.

But Natsu merely smirked, his smirk widening into a grin as he raised his hand to meet the oncoming wave. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed a powerful counterattack, sending a surge of energy rippling through the air. The two forces clashed with explosive force, sending shockwaves reverberating through the training grounds.

As the dust settled, Erza stood panting, her breath ragged from exertion. Despite her best efforts, Natsu stood before her, unscathed and unruffled.

"You're stronger than I thought," Erza admitted, her voice tinged with respect.

"You know, for a mere human, you're not half bad," he teased, a playful smirk dancing on his lips. "In fact, I'd say you've got the potential to reach some pretty phenomenal levels of power."

Erza raised an eyebrow at Natsu's assessment, her curiosity piqued by his cryptic words. "What do you mean?" she asked, her tone cautious yet intrigued.

Natsu chuckled softly, his gaze drifting skyward as he considered his response. "There's something about you, Erza," he began, his voice tinged with a hint of reverence. "Something... different. It's like you're more than just human ,like you're meant for something greater."

,,Are you going to waste that ?''asken Natsu

Erza's eyes widened at Natsu's words, his assessment stirring something deep within her. She had always sensed that there was more to her than met the eye, but to hear it spoken aloud by someone as perceptive as Natsu was both surprising and exhilarating.

"Waste it?" she echoed, her voice barely above a whisper as she contemplated his question. "No, I won't waste it. I'll do whatever it takes to fulfill my potential, to become the person I'm meant to be."

Natsu nodded approvingly, a smile playing on his lips. "Good," he replied, his tone filled with genuine encouragement. "Because I have a feeling that you're destined for greatness, Erza. And when that time comes, I'll be there to see it."

With a shared understanding between them, Natsu and Erza parted ways, each filled with a renewed sense of purpose and determination.
