It wasn't unusual for the blonde to wake up to a fiery dragon slayer asleep right beside her in her bed. It had become something normal for them in the midst of their friendship and she never thought too much of it as she proceeded to kick him out every single morning.
She didn't even know how he did it or when since she would go to bed alone and wake up with a snoring mage in her ear. Sometimes he would recruit that damn cat and he would suffocate her in her sleep, laying across her face as if she was some pillow.
She honestly didn't know what went through his mind thinking it was okay to sleep with a girl in a bed but then again, this was Natsu of all people. She was sure if she asked, he would call her weird and claim her bed was much more comfortable than his hammock at home.
Some days she found it endearing and found herself enjoying his warmth and company. Especially on those particularly cold winter days where she could sleep peacefully without her comforter.
Some days she would be annoyed by his wild snoring and sprawled limbs and would wake him up with a Lucy kick to his gut.
Today was one of those days.
She woke up to the soft snores of her best friend, his hair tickling her nose as she woke from her slumber.
At first, she could only feel the irritating tickle of his hair and she groaned awake, opening her eyes to see the familiar pink locks.
Her cheeks grew hot once she realized she was face to face with Natsu, his arm draped around her waist as he slept.
She shoved him away, warmth spreading through her chest and to the tips of ears. "Natsu!"
He wiggled around in his sleep, his face scrunching up in a cute way she would never admit to.
"Natsu, wake up!" She shouted and he slowly opened his eyes, lids heavy with sleep.
"Wha?"
"What are you doing in my bed?!"
"Huh?" He said unintelligently, barely awake. "Did you forget Luce?" He shifted slightly, pulling up the blanket to cover himself once more, completely unfazed and still half asleep. "It's already been almost a year since we've been married. What's the problem?"
Lucy blinked stupidly at his comment, gaslighting herself into thinking that she truly must have forgotten herself.
The blonde simply turned around, yanking up the comforter to cover herself once more. "Sorry, I must have forgotten."
Silence had fallen between them once more and Lucy went to close her eyes before she realized herself that she was most definitely not married to this hothead and he was just messing with her! How could she be so stupid and think he was right?!
"Wait a minute…" she finally processed his words. "What are you talking about?! We're not married!" She shot right back up, turning to look at the sheepish looking mage. "Why you—!" She grabbed her pillow, blushing furiously as she started to smother him with the weapon of choice. "You are ridiculous! Stop climbing into people's beds without their permission! You pervert!"
His laughter was muffled through the pillow. "You fell for it!"
"I'm going to kill you!"
"I'm sorry—! Luce—I can't breathe!"
