Here I present myself with a new translated chapter!
As I have nothing to say, I'll go directly to the reviews:
MAX0910: You are right that I gave up in my quest to improve the grammar in the translation, and I think I should have. I mean, there were more than 50 chapters where I learned several things and I was able to correct the most annoying parts, but getting to the other level requires me to have at least an intermediate level of English, and obviously I don't have it. That's why I think it's better to either furstrarme in vain and leave it at that. Going to the main topic, I'm really glad that you liked Ophis's personality, since it was a point I was thinking a lot to make her have a character quite different from the usual (you know, her lack of emotions, but not making her so empty or someone annoying so that the reader can like her). I hope you continue to like her scenes.
vanhellsing9000: I hadn't seen any comments from you until now, so I guess you're new. Let me welcome you and I hope you can also enjoy the next chapters as you have been doing so far.
It's time to start.
Enjoy!
"Can you climb the stairs?" Issei asked, noticing that Tiamat's drunken state was even higher than it appeared at first glance.
"Don't worry, I think I can do it. I'm not that drunk." She clarified with somewhat blurry eyes, indicating that her words were a total lie.
"Yeah, right." Issei didn't believe a word of it, but this wasn't the time to argue with her. "I'm going to make you some coffee. Wait for me upstairs, and be careful."
"Don't worry, don't worry." Tiamat tried to calm him as she lightly patted his back.
The dragoness began to climb up in a somewhat graceful manner under the watchful eye of Issei, who, seeing that she seemed to be able to manage on her own, decided to prepare the coffee.
That was not a very good idea, as the sound of stumbling was soon heard. The young man quickly arrived with the coffee, seeing that it had actually just been a loud slamming sound the dragoness had made.
"She..." Issei couldn't think of anything else to say. That moment of distraction was broken by the sight of a figure towering over the couch.
At first, Issei was calm, but that calmness was quickly replaced to fear after seeing how Ophis was rubbing her eyes in a rather cute way.
"What was that noise?" Her gaze focused directly on the brown-haired man, and at that moment the misplaced headphones fell off her head.
"Sorry, did we wake you up?" Issei asked with a sweat that betrayed his nervousness.
"Too much noise..." Was all Ophis said as she continued to carve her eyes.
"Forgive me, I promise I'll make it up to you tomorrow with a dish you've never tasted before." The first blackmail idea that crossed his mind was this, and apparently it had worked, the Goddess' curious and joyful expression was proof of that.
"It's a promise!" She jumped up on the couch with outstanding energy, as if all the sleepiness she was having had disappeared.
"For the time being, you can go sleep somewhere more comfortable. I'm sure you'll sleep better in my parents' bed." Issei stated as he pulled the small box out of his pocket, then set it down on the table before Ophis' restless and curious gaze.
"What's that?" Ophis opened the small box without warning and took one of the rings that were there. "It's not food." That statement made Issei about to laugh.
"Of course not, they're wedding rings." He answered her, receiving a nod from Ophis.
"They look nice." She put on one of the rings, looking at it with great intensity.
"I don't think you should wear them. People might think you're married or engaged." The brown-haired man stated, sitting down next to her.
"What's that?" The question that by now was no longer a surprise came.
"These rings symbolize the union between two soul mates. That is why they are not to be taken lightly, ever." Issei tried to explain as concisely and easily as possible, his intentions seemed to have worked.
"So, if I have this ring will I be with Issei forever?" Issei couldn't help but pat his face after the question.
It was obvious that she wouldn't understand so easily.
In fact, love could be quite complicated even for a person with emotions, so it wasn't strange for her to act this way. But, having the experience he had last time, he knew he shouldn't act in a consistent way with the Goddess if he didn't want to hurt her feelings. Something somewhat contradictory, since she was supposedly devoid of it.
"You can keep it, if that makes you happy."
"Happy?" Ophis looked down at the ring on her finger, then smiled slightly. "Yes, it does make me happy." Issei couldn't help but be a little impressed as he felt Ophis place a hand on his. "Thank you for being my soulmate."
Her words were accompanied with a sweet smile. It was obvious that this moment was truly endearing to Issei.
"I hope to have more fun times with you from now on!" He exclaimed, rubbing her hair energetically as he delivered a toothy grin.
"Me too." Ophis caught Issei's hand that was on top of her head, handing him a cute smile. "It's the first time in a long time that I feel like every new day can be interesting." Issei simply smiled, sharing the sentiment with the Goddess.
"I know what you mean. But now there's sleep to be had." He concluded, rising from the couch.
"Take me." Ophis commented dryly, perching on Issei's back to carry her.
"Yes, yes..." Was the simple reply from the brown-haired man, who couldn't help but chuckle a little at the Goddess' childish attitude.
At that moment, it was obvious that he didn't expect what would happen in his own room...
"I brought you coffee..." Was his comment as he opened the door.
As he turned his gaze towards his bed, his gaze changed a bit as he noticed Tiamat sitting on the bed with the blankets covering her.
"Take this, it's going to help you." Issei bent his hand to give her the coffee, to Tiamat's impassive gaze.
"I don't want any." Was the dragoness' reply. "I only want you!" Issei's eyes couldn't help but widen as the dragoness tugged on his hand to pull him to her, causing the coffee cup to fall on the spot.
"Hey, wait up!" Issei exclaimed, feeling Tiamat drape the blankets over him in a playful manner. "This is no time for games!"
At that moment, Issei was completely paralyzed as he felt something strange. After all, the dragoness was hugging him very tightly and the physical contact felt quite different than usual.
His suspicions were confirmed when Tiamat gave a tender and joyful moan because of the hand that squeezed one of her breasts by accident.
"Are you naked!" Issei's cheeks almost exploded with red after saying those words.
"It's so hot!" She quickly excused herself, continuing to press herself onto her beloved's body without caring about the great discomfort he was feeling.
"But...!"
"But what?!" She quickly interrupted him, wrapping her two hands around him in a tight, affectionate embrace. "You've seen me naked before, there's no reason for you to be so tense."
"This is totally different!" He exclaimed with rolling eyes, unable to help but turn his face away, as Tiamat's lips were too close and every time she spoke you could feel a too strong alcohol breath. "Wait a second..." The brown-haired man's expression immediately tensed as he noticed a rather important piece of information. "Her embrace is completely enclosing me."
"I can't move..."
"You know something?" Tiamat's comment made Issei feel a bit nervous, especially since her tone showed a bit of anger.
"You got a lot of love from the two of them, but I still couldn't thank you properly." Tiamat couldn't help but pout loudly. "That makes me very jealous."
"What are you talking about?" Issei managed to free one of his hands from the dragoness' bear hug. "Come on, you're too drunk. Let's just go to sleep..." He stated, patting her on the head a couple of times.
"I won't calm down until I have affection." She moaned even with her pout.
"Okay, okay..." Issei decided to play along, knowing that it would be impossible to rest if he didn't comply with her whims. "Well, here I am." Issei leaned his cheek over Tiamat's face.
"Hooray!" She would chirp happily, then give him a kiss on the cheek.
A kiss that lasted several seconds.
"Can we sleep now?" Issei asked her, noticing how Tiamat's lips parted from his cheek.
The answer would not be long in coming.
A resoundingly negative answer.
Issei's eyes widened as he noticed how Tiamat began to kiss his neck.
"Tiamat?" As he watched the seconds pass and she didn't even answer him, he knew well that this was far from over here.
"I'm going to give you all the kisses I won't be able to deliver those two weeks you'll be away from me." The dragoness declared, giving him small kisses all along his neck, leaving countless marks from her fangs and light blue lipstick.
"I guess it's going to be a long night..." Thought the young man to himself.
CHAPTER 51: GREMORY VS SITRI!
Dawn was always a heavy and late thing for Tiamat. It could be said that she and the concept of getting up early did not get along well.
Lately it was because of Issei, as she really enjoyed snuggling into him for several minutes before getting up completely.
The warmth and comfort he brought to her was simply irresistible.
But on this occasion, it would be the first time she had gotten out of bed so quickly...
Tiamat's eyes opened, and the first thing she could notice was that she was embracing Issei in a somewhat possessive manner.
That thought faded into the background after noticing a really curious detail.
"Good morning." Issei commented with a neutral expression.
"Good morning, what happened to your neck?" The woman asked him with a lot of curiosity as she noticed a large amount of red marks combined with a light blue color running along the entire length of his neck.
Those doubts were put on the back burner when she separated a little from Issei.
"Why am I naked?" She asked herself as she uncovered her breasts, noticing that she wasn't wearing any kind of bra.
"You seriously don't remember anything?" Issei inquired keeping his expression neutral, though he now had a large blush on his face as he hadn't been able to help but stare at the dragoness's shapely breasts.
"Remember? What should I remember?" She asked him, the idea of them having a wild night was instantly dismissed as Issei had all his clothes on. In fact, he hadn't even changed for bed.
"It's all a blur..." Tiamat rubbed her temple as she felt her head was pounding like a drum.
She couldn't search her thoughts for much longer as her face turned purple from one second to the next.
Issei watched with a poker face as a naked Tiamat walked out at an almost indistinguishable speed straight towards the bathroom.
Ophis sat up on the bed after hearing the sound of several doors slamming.
She rubbed her eyes as she listened in complete innocence as someone was vomiting nonstop in the front room.
And so the time passed without any surprises.
Issei was the first to resume his training with Tannin, being helped by his three best female friends, plus an Ophis who was watching everything from afar. No need to mention how frightened the Dragon King was when he realized the presence of the second most powerful entity in the world. Another person who regularly attended training was Gasper, who had decided to follow the same rhythm as his master in order to become a better warrior in the future.
It wasn't all just training, as Azazel went every night to eat together while they told numerous stories to which Ophis seemed to give them quite a lot of her attention, as they were quite entertaining by her standards. Thanks to the constant presence of the Dragon Goddess, the vast majority that still felt uncomfortable in her presence was diminishing until they were almost completely appeased.
There were also numerous attempts by Rias to approach Issei, but the reality was that she could never do it, since he was always training or else he was near Tiamat, and she knew that it was not a good idea to approach him if she was near.
Issei also gave more of his time to Gasper and his mentors. They may have only trained almost entirely, but they always had fun talking to each other.
After several days of this somewhat tiresome routine, it was finally time for the Rating Game.
Half of the stands on the big stage were completely full, only the half representing the Sitri Clan. The one who seemed to control all the masses was Sona Sitri's older sister, who was very enthusiastic and it showed very easily.
"Why are we so few people here?" asked Ophis, who was covering her ears with her hands because of the annoying commotion in that place.
"That's because the Demons don't know what Issei has become." Penemue's reply came without a hint of hesitation. "They still think he maintains a somewhat mediocre level because Rias has taken much of the credit for all the interventions. I guess everyone will think that Issei's level won't be much higher than what he showed against Raiser, so the difference in the number of pieces and the fact that the Gremory Clan is still missing a rook makes things this way now." Penemue couldn't help but grit her teeth as she listened to the opposing stand make an impressive racket.
"The only real chance they had to see their potential was against that Demon I don't even remember his name anymore. But we already know that the transmission was cut off before you could see the beating Issei was going to give them." Tiamat stated, remembering the events that had happened 2 weeks ago. "How annoying!" The dragoness couldn't help but click her tongue when she heard how loud people made themselves heard so loudly.
"Maybe it would have been a better idea to stay home like Rossweisse." Ophis shut her eyes tightly in great anger. "I want to kill them all." She opened her eyes again, denoting an adoring expression that didn't match her words.
"Now that you mention it..." Penemue brought her gaze toward the entrance to the bleachers. "Where is she?"
The three women's doubts would be forcibly assuaged when the rival grandstand made a huge commotion as the peerage of both sides appeared on stage.
"Well, this is about to begin..." Azazel thought, framing his smile. "Let's see how this all turns out." The Cadre was being accompanied by Sirzechs, who seemed to be the other commentator of what was about to happen.
From the stands would appear two men who stood out from the rest, one for being extremely muscular and the other for being very thin.
"Don't you think we should rest after winning?" Asked the thin man to the one who was apparently their leader.
"Do you want to rest after the beating we gave those guys?" Sairaorg clarified, crossing his arms. "To be honest with you, I'm not tired at all, Ladora."
"But why are we here?" The now recognized as Ladora asked the question, getting Sairaorg to smile.
"It's the first time I'm going to get to see the Sekiryuutei up close." A battle and blood hungry grin ran across his face. "Everyone says it's too weak, but there's no better criterion than your own eyes."
"Apparently, he's already got someone in his sights..." Ladora thought to himself, then fixed his gaze on the brown-haired man, who was doing pre-competitive moves along with his teammates. "I hope you don't call attention to him, or even I'll have to wish you my condolences, Hyoudou Issei..." He concluded, knowing his leader's attitude quite well.
A loud horn echoed throughout the place, causing the two sequites to form different rows.
"Are you all right?" Issei asked, noticing that Gasper was really exhausted.
"Expelling much of my power before battle will always take its toll, I suppose." The half vampire would comment with a forced smile. "That's why I must learn to master my power as soon as possible!" Gasper clenched his fist tightly, receiving a small nod from his master.
"We'll be in separate groups for a while, so I'm counting on you to cover for our president." The brown-haired man stated with a toothy grin, receiving a smile from Gasper.
"Gasper Vladi, step forward." Commented a Demon holding a notebook over his hand, at his side was a large sphere.
The half-vampire stepped forward, glaring at the man.
"Place your hand on the orb and accumulate as much magic as possible. Don't worry, this is just a magic meter, so your magic reserves will not be affected." Affirmed the subject as he watched Gasper struggle to concentrate his magic.
Finally, the small sphere would bring up a result that would be seen on the various holographic displays.
"Reserves superior to High Class Demons."
That caused many to be impressed.
"This is the first time I've seen someone have magical reserves superior to High Class Demons and be a Reincarnated Demon..." Sairaorg stated with a bit of surprise.
"Next, Hyoudou Issei."
When Issei placed his hand on the small sphere, Sairaorg paid attention that he had never been seen so far.
"Let's see how much monstrous magic a Sekiryuutei can contain..." Sairaorg declared with a feral grin.
Both leader and servant raised their gazes to look at one of the holographic screens.
At that moment, both of their expressions changed dramatically.
"Below average..." They both commented at the same time without any expression.
After the testing of all the participants, the fight was finally about to begin.
Only one thing was missing.
The formations.
"Where do you think Sona will be?" Asia asked with great doubts.
"It's something we can't say for sure. Besides, knowing her I'm sure she'll have a good plan for both zones." Rias stated seriously. "The best thing to do is not to beat around the bush and assign us to zone A and have Issei go to zone B."
"I guess we'll break their intelligence with brute force." Kiba stated with his typical condescending smile.
"Present formations." The same Demon that calculated the peerage's magical power approached them.
The members looked at each other once more before nodding earnestly.
"In a minute, each nobility will be transferred to the corresponding zones." Azazel's voice would be heard over everyone.
"I'm sure he'll leave Hyoudou alone." Thought Sona, who stood next to her Queen. "I know he's capable of taking down my other formation by himself if we don't run into each other head on, but the reality is that doesn't matter." Sona would raise her gaze, noting the clock reading 15 minutes. "After all, that would take time. If we have time on our side, we'll be all but assured of victory."
"You can do it, Issei!" Tiamat shouted in an attempt to encourage her future lover, but her voice never came because of the gigantic commotion they started to make in the opposing stands. "Damn, they're unbearable!" The dragoness cursed them through gritted teeth.
"I see, so they need a little help?"
The three women turned their gaze to the entrance of the stands, surprised to see who it was.
"Rossweisse?" Was all they commented as they saw how she had a confident and proud smile on her face.
"Come on in, girls!"
Serafall and the entire rival grandstand couldn't help but fall silent as they saw the large amount of Valkyries starting to fill the entire half of the other stage, carrying flags of Asgard and the Welsh Dragon. The drums and various shouts of encouragement for Issei made things take a 180-degree turn, and while Issei didn't like to draw attention to himself, he had to admit that being supported in this way felt really good.
"Hero of Asgard!"
"Hero of Asgard!"
"What the hell?!" Tsubaki couldn't help but curse at the completely unexpected situation.
"Hero of Asgard?" Sona asked herself, being overwhelmed by everything that was happening. "I guess I should have thought better and reviewed the different repercussions Hyoudou generated in other Factions..." Sona bit her thumb warily.
"Don't worry." Tsubaki immediately reassured her. "It may be a little stronger than what we researched, but the result will be the same." She concluded, earning a small smile from Sona.
"You're right." She replied, narrowing her eyes with great mystery. "After all, we're not the only ones who are somewhat uninformed..."
"The Valkyries really love you, don't they?" Kiba inquired with a nervous smile.
"Well, it's a long story..." Replied the brown-haired man, who turned around to greet Rossweisse with great energy, being answered by her.
"5"
After hearing the remaining seconds, the whole place went completely silent for the participants, although an impressive celebration was going on in the stands.
"4"
Everyone activated their own Sacred Gear or powers to face what was about to come.
"3"
Issei closed his eyes to concentrate.
"2"
The gauntlet glowed brightly, covering his entire body in crimson armor.
"1"
Everyone opened their eyes, immediately noticing the opponents they were to subdue.
"The Rating Game begins!"
"Sona..." Rias thought, going into a quick formation with the rest of her peerage to function as a shield of sorts, and the Sitri did the same. "That means Issei..." Rias glanced sideways towards the B-zone, but quickly discovered that they were surrounded by a large wall of magic circles that didn't allow them to see beyond it, and it was sure to function as a barrier of sorts.
"The space is as cramped as I previously studied..." Sona thought, taking a couple of glances around. "This will lead to fierce and constant attacks trying to break through the defense lines to get to the King." She concluded, knowing that Rias should be thinking something similar right now.
The sweat of both Kings would slowly roll down their cheeks, until it finally trickled down their chins.
The moment the drops fell to the ground, they would both take a great leap backwards as they were surrounded by two of their servants.
"Attack!"
The first to move was Tomoe, who couldn't help but get would be as Gasper quickly began to follow her to prevent break through the defenses.
"The only bishop to attack in a frontal manner, Sona was right." The knight stated with a small smile, then tried to attack the half vampire, who quickly fought back as he created a magic circle that stopped time right where she was standing.
Meanwhile, Koneko was helped by Kiba and Xenovia to stop contain Tsubasa, Loup and Bennia who also sought to attack head on.
Akeno threw one of her lightning bolts from the rear, being blocked by Tsubaki herself just before it hit, generating a small distraction in Kiba, Koneko and Xenovia.
A distraction that Sona seemed to discover.
"Now!" She waved her hand to the front, causing Tsubaki and Saji to look at her, nodding quickly.
Tsubaki put on a magic ring at the same time as she began to create a large attack. Saji summoned her absorption power.
"Dodge the ropes!" shouted Rias, knowing what Saji's power was doing.
But she definitely didn't expect what was going to happen next.
The ring Tsubaki put on glowed with an impressive intensity, causing the large ball of magic she was creating to grow to 10 times its size, causing the Gremory group to widen their eyes in complete shock.
"Throw them!" Tsubaki ordered Saji, who didn't even refuse.
Both attacks were launched at the same time, combining with each other and generating an unparalleled mass of energy.
"This is what happens when there is so much difference in numbers and failure in formation..." Sona thought with a smile, seeing that there was a large opening between the ranks, where the gigantic attack entered heading directly towards Rias, Akeno and Asia, who were watching this completely paralyzed.
A huge explosion rose up all over the place, causing Sona and her closest servants to take cover, while many others flew away due to the great inertia of the impact.
The huge boom left behind a great destruction and dust combined with smoke that made it impossible to tell what had happened in the center of the explosion.
"Do you think it worked?" Tsubaki asked her king, watching the ring shatter into several pieces.
"Something's wrong..." Was the reply from Sona, who couldn't help but narrow her eyes. "The radius of the explosion should have been much larger..."
After hearing those words, Saji looked straight ahead with complete seriousness.
"No one let their guard down!" Tsubaki ordered, causing all the members to surround Sona out of caution.
The curtain of dust slowly revealed a figure being surrounded by the rest of his team, who watched this completely dumbfounded.
That figure slowly became distinguishable, causing Sona to widen her eyes in complete disbelief.
"No...this can't be true." Tsubaki said in complete shock.
"How...?" Sona commented, looking at that figure with wordless intensity.
The arm with some burns of what appeared to be a man slowly rose up, noticing a large amount of armor remnants and blood, plus his wounded and burn-covered torso was fully visible.
"How could he beat them so fast?!"
The hand finally parked over Issei's face, who brushed away the blood and hair falling over his face in a rather suspicious manner, making more than one woman blush.
"Four Pawns and a Bishop of the Sitri clan have been eliminated."
