Here I present myself with a new translated chapter!
Remember that this is a translation made by a person who doesn't know much about English, so it's normal that you may notice some mistakes in certain scenes.
This time there's nothing to add or talk about, so I'll go quickly to the chapter.
Enjoy!
CHAPTER 67: THE HIDDEN POWER!
Vali's group and Issei's future mistresses were silent as the crowd cheered for the start of the battle.
Azazel, Odin and Rosswell were also silent, but there was a small smile on the first two mentioned. The albino wore his typical stoic expression, though he looked slightly worried.
"¡5!"
"¡4!"
"¡3!"
"¡2!"
"¡1!"
Thor couldn't help but laugh at Issei's words.
"You're very funny, brat." The god sneered as he folded his arms. "You think you can hurt me, even a little bit? Don't make me laugh!" Issei contracted his eyebrows for a second at such a comment as he listened to the God laugh non-stop.
"Very well, I'll let you attack first so you can see the difference between us." Thor stated with a confident smile. "I won't move from this spot, I promise."
"The saying goes that the bigger a man's ego, then the harder his fall." Issei commented with a slight smile just before materializing the helmet.
The young man shot off through a burst of speed, leaving more than one onlooker impressed by how fast he was.
But Thor remained unmoved.
Issei materialized his katana as he raised his hand, then brought it down in an attempt to deliver a quick and powerful slash.
Everyone looked at the screen in shock as an immense amount of dust was thrown up in the area of the impact, creating a small but deep crater in the area, sending numerous debris flying. It didn't take long for the dust to dissipate, and in position Thor was seen to be parrying Issei's katana with an ice claymore which greatly surprised the protagonist. The God gave him a small smile as he noticed his opponent's disbelief, then used a bit more force to break the block of both attacks with ease, forcing Issei to take a step back from the overwhelming force that overtook him.
Issei did not stand still and tried to break through with his katana, but the result was very similar to the previous one, even more forceful. Thor simply smiled as he saw the move clearly and gave a quick spin on himself with his claymore extended, causing both blades to clash together. That single clash brought so much counter force that Issei lost his balance as he was unable to counter it, but he still attempted to deliver a thrust at a blinding speed that few could dodge. Therefore, it was obvious his great surprise to see Thor become a blur for a second. The next thing he could see and feel was how the God delivered a strong punch to his abdomen that generated a powerful shockwave that shook the entire battlefield. Issei's armor shattered into a thousand pieces, causing Issei to spit out a large amount of blood and fall to the ground in a thud.
"See?" Thor sneered, turning his back on him at the thought that he would no longer be able to get up. "You didn't even last ten seconds."
"Very well..." The God smiled, starting to walk. "Now, where should I start looking for her?"
Just as he said that, Thor's expression changed dramatically as he noticed a deep crimson glow behind him.
"WELSH DRAGON: TRIAINA EVOLUTION!"
Thor turned around just in time to witness Issei towered over his back with the katana raised as a different armor materialized on his body.
And he could definitely feel the different pressure that new armor exerted.
The God gritted his teeth slightly and recreated another ice cleymore in a second, then waved the sword violently to the front. Both attacks collided with each other and generated a large amount of sparks along with a crater, sending Issei flying backwards from the force of the impact.
The brown-haired man somersaulted over himself and stabbed his katana into the ground so as not to be swept away by the inertia of the impact. As if by pure survival instinct, Issei dug out his katana and made a 180 degree turn to stop the cleymore that hit hard against his katana.
Issei's eyes soon grew large and his teeth clenched as he began to be dragged down by the sheer amount of force being used against him.
All onlookers watched in shock as Issei continued with his guard up as Thor advanced relentlessly, creating a line of destruction in his wake.
That would have continued, had Issei not crashed into a building, cracking the wall in the process.
"Now!" Issei widened his eyes as he noticed that he had stopped thanks to the support received by the structure, so he quickly stabbed the katana into the ground and climbed up the cracked wall until he was standing head first on his katana.
Thor watched in mild surprise as wings emerged from Issei's back just as he unearthed his katana and began to fly. The God smiled as he deduced what he was thinking, so he quickly began to spin in circles.
"How do you plan to attack me if you can't even get through my weakest defense!" The God laughed, getting Issei to narrow his eyes.
The chestnut began to spin at a high speed as he descended with his katana extended, and in that way it looked like it had turned into a red saw with a silver edge.
Finally, both swords clashed, and this time something happened that shocked even Thor himself.
"He split my ice?!" He thought incredulously as he saw that his sword had been split in two, but it didn't take him a second to react.
A side kick emerged so fast that it would be impossible for almost anyone to dodge, but everyone was very impressed to see how Issei used his own katana to hammock himself over it and dodge the blow in an amazing way. If that wasn't enough, Issei used his free hand to block a dry punch by Thor, leaving Thor very astonished.
And that astonishment only increased when he saw Issei's hand drop the buried katana and point at him, creating a red orb in less than a second.
"DRAGON SHOT!"
Both Issei and Thor were sent flying by the crimson power source. Issei ended up cracking the wall where he had previously collided, while Thor and his attack ended up bringing down the front building completely, causing endless debris to create a large curtain of dust.
Issei was quick to fetch his katana as he stood silently, hoping to see something through all the recently caused destruction.
"Well, well..." Thor's figure came into view through the dust. "I must say, you are more impressive than I thought." Clarified the God sincerely as he wiped away the dust that adorned his slight scratches. "But let me tell you, that's far from enough."
Issei couldn't help but smile at such words.
"That I can see, you took a Dragon Shot full on and it barely affected you." The brown man stated, causing the God to smile.
"Maybe this can be more fun than I thought, so I'll get a little serious with you." Thor declared, just as a coating of ice covered his head and legs, plus both of his hands were decorated with impressive claymores.
Thor's look became somewhat gloomy just as his posture changed dramatically.
"I just hope you don't go down so easily, because this is just the beginning of my true power." Clarified the man, then vanished without a trace.
Issei re-materialized his helmet just as his posture tensed slightly as he noticed the large increase in speed in the man.
"BOOST!"
Thor took a huge leap to land right on top of Issei, causing their weapons to clash loudly creating a thunderous sound along with a large crater.
They both shot out of the dust trail practically instantly, colliding and deflecting their attacks. Though rather the one who was deflecting and blocking the attacks was Issei, as he seemed to barely be able to keep up with the God as he stepped back to try not to lose his balance.
Thanks to the fact that Thor's attacks lacked technique it was easy for him to anticipate his attacks, but the reality was that the speed and power with which Thor moved made it very difficult for him to do so to the point of cornering him quite a bit.
Sparks continued to be created by each clash between the swords until Thor managed to hit him with a strong knee on his abdomen that Issei managed to counter with his own knee. Although that had served to reduce the damage to a minimum, the truth is that he could not avoid flying away by the uncontrollable inertia of the impact, and Thor did not take half a second to follow him with a jump.
Issei somersaulted through the air as fast as he could and moved at breakneck speed and precision with his katana and body to block each of the claymores' attacks. Both were moving so fast in the air that their bodies became a blur at times.
After several sword clashes that shook much of the stage, Issei was hurled to the ground as he was once again overcome by his opponent's strength. The protagonist plummeted onto a rooftop, destroying much of the building in the process.
Thor didn't take any longer and raised his two claymores as highest possible as he went into a free fall. His two weapons took on an impressive size as they became coated in ice, only to have the God launch them with all his might towards the building where Issei had fallen. Just before the giant claymores hit their target, Issei could be seen shooting out of one of the windows before the building exploded into a thousand pieces from the attack that threw ice and debris everywhere.
Issei rolled on the ground and quickly broke into a run as he saw a blur land on his back. Issei waved his katana from behind out of pure instinct to parry Thor's mandoble, causing Issei to take a small leap to rearrange his stance against his opponent, and incidentally took advantage of this move to dodge a sweep from the God.
Again the swords clashed with great force again and again while Issei took several steps backwards to avoid losing his balance. But the reality was that keeping up with Thor's speed was becoming more and more difficult.
Between one of the many collisions, it was seen how the sword pierced part of the armor of his arm, giving him a deep cut. The next thing seen was how his helmet exploded into a thousand pieces as the mandoble barely grazed his cheek, cutting it in the process.
His eyes and face moved from left to right at a great speed at all the blurred movements of the God in an attempt to anticipate attacks. Finally, that speed overtook his technique, and that became quite clear when his eyes blinked in complete shock.
A screeching sound echoed along with the large sparks and the crater that was created in the area from the two weapons that had been driven into the ground by the attack and the God's great uncontrollable force.
Seeing that Issei's defenses were down, Thor did not give him even a small respite and a large amount of ice stakes materialized in his free hand, to then shoot out against Issei.
A strong red glow appeared throughout the area along with a loud bang as all the ice debris flew everywhere.
The easiest thing to witness was how Issei went flying as he rolled on the ground, under the gaze of a God who remained unmoved.
Finally, Issei crashed into one of the many houses in the area, shattering the wall on the spot. The brown-haired man did not take long to get back on his feet while shaking off all the dust that surrounded his armor. Obviously, at no time did he take his eyes off Thor.
"If he hadn't created that magical barrier at that moment, the damage would have been irreparable." Thor thought, remembering everything that had transpired in that short second. "He may not be very powerful, but I must admit he has better instincts and reaction time than I do." He concluded, crossing his arms.
The God looked at him for a short second as he watched the katana finally fall to the ground and stick between him and his opponent.
"I wonder what kind of training he must have had to evolve this way..." Thor thought with a small smile as he saw that Issei didn't seem the least bit frightened by the huge difference in power.
"This guy is really tough, and the ice has become quite a bit tougher since he increased his power, so it would be impossible to get rid of that cleymore if I use my normal moves." Issei deduced as he wiped away the blood gushing from his cheek.
The protagonist looked at his katana as he thought carefully about a plan.
"I guess that's the best option." He concluded, then materialized his helmet and made a small red orb appear from his hand. "But I must be careful with my magic, so I will only use what is necessary."
After saying those words, Issei began to run towards his katana and before he picked it up the Boosted Gear could be heard:
"Transfer!"
That caused the sphere in his hand to merge with his katana, giving it a rather dangerous red and violet hue.
"A secret move?" Thor couldn't help but smile at what he witnessed. "No matter what you try, nothing will work." He concluded, then creating two ice claymores.
Issei's eyebrows twitched for a short second as his free hand began to create another red sphere just before lashing out at the God.
The katana slammed into the two mandobles and the force of the impact never actually hit, as the strange magical burst that emerged from Issei's weapon completely shattered the two mandobles and caused the God's defense to shatter completely as his two arms were lifted into the air by the sheer inertia of the impact.
"Now!" thought Issei with wide eyes as he directed his hand towards the God's exposed chest.
And just then, a dark smile graced Thor.
Issei's eyes flickered in shock as a massive amount of ice erupted from the God's chest and caught him completely, damaging much of his armor and giving him a large amount of cuts in the process.
Issei was sent flying backwards as he left a trail of blood in his wake, until he finally fell to the ground in a defeated posture.
"This ends now!" roared Thor with a bloodthirsty grin as he pounced on his stunned opponent via a leap, managing to get a stunned look on his face.
Issei was quick enough to grab his katana again and place it across his chest to block the attack of both blades.
Evidently, he hadn't expected the outcome to turn so badly against him.
Issei gritted his teeth hard as a huge crater was generated in his place. His eyes widened beyond measure after noticing how the pressure on his chest was getting stronger and stronger on his cracking armor.
Knowing that losing the armor was an instant game over, Issei tried a very risky move.
"Aaaargggggggh!" Issei couldn't hold back the bloody scream as one of his hands left the grapple, causing his katana to embed itself completely into his armor, leaving it a breath away from breaking.
Just then Thor watched in disbelief as Issei's free hand went straight for his face.
The impact didn't take long to reverberate throughout the place, it was even so loud that it lifted the nearest debris for a second.
"You know what helmets are for right?" Thor mocked the young man, as he hadn't taken any damage thanks to his ice helmet.
Issei just smiled at his words, then opened his hand to reveal a small orb that impressed the God.
"DRAGON SHOT!"
A gigantic tremor appeared along with a great curtain of smoke and dust that blinded everyone's vision momentarily.
The one that didn't take long to make an appearance was Issei, who emerged among all the debris that was still flying.
"Shit..." He couldn't help but curse as he wiped the blood from his mouth and his badly damaged armor was quickly repaired.
After a few seconds, the figure of the God came into view through the dust as he walked.
"That wasn't a bad move." Thor said, then fixing his crooked nose as it dropped a large amount of blood.
Issei did nothing but frown as he saw how little damage he had done to the god. The brown-haired man was quick to leap up to quickly attack his opponent, causing Thor to smile at his action.
The man twisted his upper body to dodge one slash, then rolled backwards to dodge another. His action ended when he took a small leap to dodge the last katana attack in which he took the opportunity to give him a great spinning kick that cracked part of Issei's armor, and that simple but effective move sent the latter flying.
Issei rolled in the air and landed on his feet on some rubble. His expression changed drastically when he turned around, as it was too late.
All he could do was take the blow.
Thor's fist embedded completely into Issei's abdomen and shattered the armor in the area immediately. His back was stretched backwards at an abnormal angle just at the same time a loud bang was heard throughout.
Issei's eyes rolled back and he vomited a huge amount of blood.
The building behind them shattered into a thousand pieces, leaving all the onlookers wide-eyed.
"Oops, I guess I got a little over excited." Thor laughed as he twisted his hand over Issei's abdomen, causing Issei to vomit more blood, covering the God's face from that bloody vomit.
"Are you still conscious?" Thor asked mockingly, watching as Issei's downcast gaze blocked his face.
The smile on the God's face changed slightly as he tried to remove his arm from his opponent's abdomen. He lowered his gaze, and there he noticed that Issei's hand was gripping his forearm very tightly.
Issei raised his gaze and gave him a blood covered smile, causing the God to be visibly surprised when Issei's other hand was revealed to have created a reddish sphere considerably larger than all the previous ones.
"DRAGON SHOT!"
This time the reddish trail was considerably larger and swept across much of the battlefield, obliterating everything in its path until it finally ended in a gigantic blast that, had it not been for the barriers of the bleachers, many people would have been hit by large debris.
At the opposite end of all the commotion stood Issei with one knee on the ground. He was trying to hide the obvious, but it was impossible for his whole body to stop shaking from the sheer amount of pain he was feeling, especially in the area that had taken the last impact.
"This was a lot of fun, but it's about time to end the show!" Thor's shout caused Issei to raise his gaze with some difficulty, seeing how the God had emerged from the huge crater along with a gigantic pillar of ice, where he was obviously at the top.
"How did such a powerful point blank Dragon Shot barely do any damage to him?" Issei couldn't help but wonder as he stood up, noticing how the God looked with light wounds all over his body.
Issei coughed once, and the blood was not long in coming.
"I think he hurt several internal organs in one blow." Issei wiped the blood from his mouth, then clicked his tongue. "Shit, this guy is really another level..."
"I hope you're ready for the last dance!" Thor delivered a sly grin just before he shot off towards his position, smashing everything in his path.
Issei quickly followed him and took a big leap in his direction.
"But what does it matter that it's another level? I'll reach him." Those were the last thoughts that crossed Issei's head just as they were about to collide in midair.
And suddenly, that blinding speed of his opponent became visible to his eyes for some reason.
That reason was instantly explained with a simple word:
"BOOST!"
Just before colliding with Thor, Issei spread his wings and flew upwards.
The God's expression changed in slow motion as he saw that they had dodged his punch, while Issei summoned his katana and embedded it in the back of his opponent's neck in a move so fast that no one could see.
What could be seen was how Issei continued on his way while Thor had a 90-degree swerve and ended up crashing into the rubble, generating a huge curtain of dust.
Issei would land on a roof of one of the few houses that were still complete. The brown felt his legs almost sedate to his own weight and his hand automatically reached his abdomen in a poor attempt to calm that pain that was killing him.
"Your skin is very tough and your ice is quite resistant, but no one can resist a stabbing of such magnitude." Issei said, convinced that he had managed to knock his opponent down.
"Are you sure?"
Issei's expression changed radically after hearing that ominous tone over his shoulders, so he quickly turned his body around.
But it was already too late...
Issei's eyes grew wide with great pain as he felt several ribs crack.
Thor's punch was so strong that shattered the structure completely and sent Issei towards the other end of the stage in a burst of speed that resembled a missile.
Finally, the brown-haired man slammed into the barrier and spat out a large amount of blood, then fell to his knees on the ground.
"How do you plan to get to my neck with your foolish attack if you aren't even able to get through one of my weaker ice defenses?" Thor sneered as he pointed to his helmet and slowly approached, watching with amusement as Issei had to hold onto his katana to stay on his feet.
"In case there is still any recondite hope left in your heart, the time has come to crush it utterly." Declared the god with a smug smile as he tilted his arms to either side.
At that moment, a large amount of ice began to coat Thor's entire body. His figure began to grow and grow until a gigantic colossus of 15 meters was present, being controlled by Thor from the head.
And it was not only the creation of that giant. The reality is that the power of the God grew exponentially, creating an aura around the colossus that was actually suffocating even for Issei, forcing him to fall to his knees.
"And you know what's funny?" Thor undid his ice colossus with a simple snap of his fingers. "That's not all my power."
Thor's smile was replaced by a frown as he watched Issei return to his feet, indicating that he cared little for what he had just witnessed.
Issei began coughing up a large amount of blood without stopping, until he finally stopped. The brown wiped away the blood once more to then raise his shadowed face slowly.
The god's annoyance became visible when he saw that the brown's gaze hadn't changed one bit after what he witnessed.
"Very well, if that's what you want..." Thor spat venomously as his arms and legs were covered in ice.
Issei just materialized his helmet, waiting for the attack.
"Here you go!" Thor roared with a sadistic grin as a large number of ice stakes shot out towards Issei.
The protagonist began to deflect all the stakes with his katana with difficulty, as he could barely stand.
Just as they finished, his eyes widened considerably as Thor passed by him, delivering a heavy blow to his face that shattered his helmet completely, causing Issei to spit out a large amount of blood and teeth in the process.
The young man went flying at a great speed from the blow, but just before he hit the ground, he could feel how the God had grabbed him by the neck.
Issei opened his eyes heavily, watching as Thor looked at him with complete seriousness while his free hand was covered in pointy ice.
"Listen to me well, brat. Everyone probably tells you that you can't beat me because you're a mere Reincarnated Demon. I can understand what they're referring to and maybe they're somewhat right, but the real reason you can't beat me is much more complex than the difference in status between us." Commented the God calmly, seeing that Issei could no longer move and was completely at his mercy.
Thor's gaze hardened slightly as he watched Issei.
"You remind me of me when I was young, that's why you're not dead yet for getting in my way." Clarified the God, then frowned. "I'll give you some advice: as long as you keep fighting for someone else, you'll never get to be anyone." Thor's eyes became empty after remembering his past. "There's no use making yourself strong for other people when they're going to die anyway. The only thing that matters is you and no one else. That's the real formula for being strong. As long as you keep fighting for that Valkyrie and others, you will be humiliated again and again, until you die."
Thor closed his eyes, then opened them and returned to his usual expression.
"Now that you understand this, it's time for you to stand down." The God declared, tightening his grip on Issei's neck slightly.
Thor waited for Issei to finally give up, so his surprise was more than evident when Issei clenched his fist and delivered a blow that felt like a simple caress.
The other punches had probably done a lot more to him than that simple touch, but that punch had been the only one that had really pissed him off.
"Damn stupid brat!"
Thor roared in rage, and everyone watched in horror as the God's hand pierced Issei's chest, leaving him without a left lung.
A large amount of blood fell to the ground, and it kept gushing out of Issei.
"Tiamat!" Penemue stood up, knowing it was time to intervene.
Therefore, her surprise was more than evident when the Ice Queen stopped her with her hand.
"Wait, what's that aura?" Tiamat asked with wide eyes.
"Aura? What are you talking about?!" Penemue declared hysterically, as she didn't notice anything about the place.
"This is your last chance." Thor declared, watching Issei's blood seep through his entire arm as the armor shattered into a thousand pieces.
"Off..." Thor couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as the bloody words came out of Issei's mouth.
"What did you say?" The God unearthed his hand from Issei's chest and loosened his grip on his neck so that he could speak.
In those moments, numerous memories began to pop into Issei's head.
It was all about his training, and everything he went through to achieve his current power.
It had been a huge pain in the ass, though spending those times with those women he loves so much made it so he could go on and finish that fucking Hell.
That, and his iron will.
The hope that he could accomplish his goal.
The hope of being able to fulfill his reason in life.
The desire to protect all his loved ones, who saved him from the horrible ordeal he suffered daily because of his parents.
And...
Deep inside him...
There was also the desire to fight.
Therefore, for that guy to have said such stupid things...
"Simply unacceptable." Ddraig's voice echoed through the place, making Thor confused.
"What?" Was all he could say, and just at that precise moment Issei opened his eyes and a faint violet aura began to surround him.
"I said fuck off."
Thor widened his eyes beyond measure as Issei took his hand and broke the ice that coated it with great facility. The God didn't hesitate for a second and shot backwards to get some distance.
"What the fuck?" He said to himself as he made the dislocated wrist snap back into place without taking his eyes off Issei.
Issei was on one knee on the ground as his surroundings began to get more and more agitated as his violet aura turned a black color.
"What is that power?!" The God wondered in quite astonishment as he turned his hand to ease the pain.
His eyes rested in a great daze on his opponent's blood and wounds as they slowly began to fade away.
"With all it took for me to get here..." Issei's shadowed gaze did not allow his face to be seen, but his tone was much more serious than usual.
The memory of Tiamat saving him on numerous occasions struck his mind.
"With all the pain I suffered to try to overcome my opponents and not succeeding..."
Right after saying those words, Issei stood up, causing the faint aura to turn into a gigantic vortex of power that left everyone completely perplexed, especially Tiamat.
"That's dragon aura, and it's not from Ddraig..." Commented the dragoness, greatly impressing Penemue.
"Here it is..." Was all Vali said as she saw that the real show had finally begun.
"What is this?!" Thor had to cover his face as he felt that the huge vortex of power was creating gusts of wind so strong that they were especially hostile against him, as if that aura had a life of own.
If that wasn't enough, Thor's eyes widened in complete shock as he witnessed something that terrified him for the first time since he saw the Trihexa.
In fact, he couldn't help but compare, as the image of a huge black dragon with red stripes was created by the immense energy vortex just behind Issei.
"What is that monster?!" Thor's eyes were popping out of their sockets after witnessing such a completely unbelievable illusion.
The surprises continued to come as he watched the hole in Issei's chest regenerate practically instantly.
"Instant regeneration?! Who the hell is this brat?!"
"After everything I've been through..." Issei raised his gaze slowly, shocking everyone after witnessing crimson slitted eyes.
"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT SHIT FROM SOMEONE WHO NEVER HAD TO WORK HARD TO GET HIS POWER!"
Issei crossed his hands in X, causing the vortex of energy to grow even larger.
"SO, GET READY...!"
"WELSH DRAGON: BALANCE BREAKER!"
"BECAUSE THIS HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN!"
END OF CHAPTER!
I hope you liked this first chapter of the battle.
Yes, Issei finally seems to reveal his true power to everyone, although there are still many things to clarify.
I'll try not to take too long for the next update, but since I have to continue with my untranslated story, it might take me a couple of days longer than usual.
With nothing more to add, it's time to say goodbye.
Thank you very much for reading!
