It was a few weeks later and Rocket was feeling better after the flu but taking it easy plus he still had a cough so couldn't go on missions until it went away only he noticed that Nebula was growing fur which made him excited but surprised Herbert had given her raccoon blood but also he realised it was mutant genes so was keeping an eye on her noticing she was eating leftover pop tarts from breakfast making him smile as she was getting cute and chunky like him and Rocke plus the kits were starting to get cute and chunky making himself coffee asking her, if she wanted some. "Uh-huh but yeah, I've been feeling strange since Herbert gave me that shot." she said.
"Yeah ummmm… he might've given you raccoon blood so the X-Gene is activatibg, and think you're becoming a raccoon which is awesome." Rocket replied seeing her smile at this. "This makes me closer to you." Nebula told him kissing him.
"That explains why Nebby has the munchies recently, without eating Grootdust." Rocke told him.
"Hehe Rocke but it's the raccoon metabloism, as Rockie explained to me." Nebula told him.
"That's good he told you things like that, so you don't freak out plus she's gonna need painkillers as growing a taik will hurt." Rocke replied making Rocket guess he was right. "That won't happen for a while Nebs." he reassured her.
He also knew the kits would be curious about what was going on with Nebula so would tell them hoping they wouldn't freak out including Bubba and Kiwi but was hoping they were having a good day at school feeling Nebula hug him as she was now his height so her clothes and armour had fallen off but Rocket put one of his robes around her, which relieved her.
"Thanks honey, but we should tell the kits, as they're noticing." she told him.
"Already on it, but they'll be supportive, as we've made them open minded." Rocket told her kissing her hearing Rocke whistle making Nebula roll her eyes at the tenuki male. "He just gets excited sometines Nebs." Rocket told his smart watch vibrate leavibg the room as Hardlite Piper projected herself relieved that Rocke was okay asking him, why he hadn't returned to Piper and their kits making him feel bad explaining to her. "That makes sense but you should tell her in a vlog or video. Let me help you." she told him. She then helped him make a video where he was explaining to Piper what had happened and where he was.
"Ohhhhh, that feels better and they'll get it." Rocke told her as she nodded disappearing into the watch, after sendibg it to Piper hoping she wasn't upset but telepirting himself to 1610 which Nebula saw hoping Bubba would get if she asked where her papa went seeing Rocket there understanding, after she told him.
"Woah mommy's becoming like us, that's so cool, how did it happen, is mommy scared." Elroy, Herbie, Luna and Sputnik asked Rocket. It was late afternoon and they'd gotten home from school and were having snacks when they'd noticed Nebula was now the same height as their dad so he had to tell them but happy they thought it was awesome relieving Nebula.
"We're glad you're excited about what's happening to mommy instead of being freaked out." Rocket told them.
"Yep, plus we can help her as we're born raccoons like you daddy and uncle Rocke." Elroy tokd him making Rocket smile as they were going to play seeing Bubba and Kiwi home from school wondering what was going on withNebula as Rocket told them impressibg them. "It explains a lot about what's going on with her. Like this morning at breakfast." Bubba told him.
She wondered where her papa was, making Nebula and Rocket exchange a look. "He went back to 1610 to visit a friend but he'll cone back." Rocket told her. "Ohhhh okay and went to see Piper which is gonna be an emotional bloodbath." Bubba mumbled frowning making Rocket understand.
