Hateno Village - Link's House
With Lucina made her wish at the same time as Hades 'prodding' Palkia to help Neo Subspace Army the people returned ended up scattered all over the multiverse instead of returned together at Pi'illo Island. This group landed in Hyrule in the Hero of Wild Era Snake, Marth, (TP)Link, Red, and Nana ended up here. Specifically in front of Link's House.
"So we're back, and we're landed somewhere in the wilderness." Said Snake looking around until he turned around seeing a house. "Or not."
"This sign said Link's house, Is this your house Link ?" Asked Nana after reading the signboard. "Does this means we're in Hyrule ?"
Realizing he's not in his home (TP)Link give his answer to Nana. "No, I'm sure my house isn't facing the cliff, this must be the current Link's house, as for the second question yeah, but this isn't the Hyrule that I know of"
"Well we said we're going to investigate Dracula's minions after cutting off communication, where should we start ? We're not exactly familiar with Hyrule." Said Red.
"Why not bring the other Link here ? I'm sure he's more familiar with the area." Suggested Marth.
"Well that's the obvious solution, alright then let's get to it." Snake used his golden plate to contact the S.S Light.
S.S Light - Bridge
Isabelle remaining standby as usual at the bridge drinking coffee and monitoring the situations, suddenly she receive a call from Snake.
"Hello Snake what can I do for you ?" Asked the Shih Tzu politely.
"Isabelle could you bring Link here, you know the ones dressed in blue, we realized we reappeared in his world, you know Hyrule." Answered Snake.
"Ok, give me a sec, I'll give him a call right away." Isabelle used the ship's PA system to call Link to the bridge, not long after the bridge door opened and Link entered the room.
"You called Isabelle ?" Asked the Hylian.
"Yes, sorry to bother you but this is important you see." Isabelle pointed at the monitor which shows Snake's face.
"You need to talk to me Snake ?" Asked Link.
"Yeah, we somehow appeared in your Hyrule, in front of your house no less, and we need someone who knows their way around to help us with investigating Dracula's minions." Answered Snake.
"I see, alright count me in, I won't let any evil threaten my home, Isabelle send me to Hyrule." Link agreed to help as he stand in the teleporter, Isabelle adjust the corrdinates and pressed the button that teleported Link back to Hyrule.
Hateno Village - Link's House
Link arrived in front of his house where the smashers await. "Alright, I'm here now, shall we begin ?"
"Alright, but gotta say though Hyrule is a beautiful world, greenery as far as the eye can see." Marth commenting at the lush scenery.
"Thanks, but I must warn you to be careful, Hyrule is full of dangerous wildlife, luckily they never entered any civilization." Warned Link.
"So what should we do first ?" Asked Red.
"I suppose the obvious is to ask the locals if there's anything strange, not to worry I know all the people here." Said Link as he's ready to head to the village.
"Ok, give us time to...My Pokeballs ! They're not here ! Charizard ! Pikachu ! Everyone !" Red shouted after realizing his Pokeballs and Pokemons are missing. "Oh no what should I do !?"
"Red calm down, I'm sure Charizard and Pikachu are with our allies elsewhere, they will be fine." Assured Marth. "And we can track their location using the golden plates right."
"And besides you remember the wish Death made, he wished for those summoned to the World of Trophy are gone, considering your other Pokemons isn't here maybe they're still at the Dragon Palace." Said Link.
"Sorry I get jumpy there, you're right, they can take care of themselves, it's just Hyrule reminds me a lot of my world, wilderness still intact and full of dangerous creatures I admit, which is why anyone who wants to travel need a Pokemon partner." Answered Red.
"I see, look we won't be here too long, let's just focused on the task at hand, and should there be any fighting just leave them to us." (TP)Link tapped Red shoulder, trying to comfort him.
"Thanks, and uh by the way how are we going to explain to the villagers there's two Links once we get to the village ?" Red pointed at the two Links.
"Oh yeah, I can't say your my long lost relative everyone already know I'm the same Link from 100 years ago."
"Then what about this." (TP)Link shapeshift into his wolf form, "just say I'm some wolf you tamed or something." Apparently (TP)Link can speak in wolf form now.
"You okay Nana ?" Snake noticed Nana a little down.
"Was it that obvious ? It's just I never been separated from Popo." Answered the pink climber.
Snake kneel down and pat Nana on the head. "I get the feeling I suppose, but look, you're not alone alright, you're aming friends now, and obviously we're going back together, so cheered up alright."
"Thanks Mr. Snake, now's not the time to move around, Popo won't like it if he saw me like this !" Nana perked up after a brief chat from Snake.
"Hmm, you know when we have time why don't I introduced you to Sunny, I hope you two able to get along." Said Snake.
"Sunny ? Is she your daughter ?" Asked Nana.
"Technically, she's adopted, I think she needs to meet more people around her age, being too cooped up in a lab isn't good for her." Answered Snake.
"A lab ?" Further asked Nana.
"Let's just say she's a genius, so she's already hired to work in a lab, I'll tell you the details later." With them done talking the heroes headed to the bridge leading to Hateno Village.
Hateno Village
As the heroes cross the bridge a sound of screaming can be heard from the village.
"Was that a scream !?" Shouted Marth.
"The village must be in danger ! We better hurry !" The heroes then run quickly to reach the village, and they saw four horse riding men attacking and vandalizing the village.
"I got this !" Link prepare his bow and shock arrow. Link's focus made his surroundings slow moving as he fire his shock arrows in rapid succession, Link managed to hit their horses, paralyzing it and stopped them in their tracks, the horses fell down from the attack, causing their rider to fall with them.
"Now's our chance ! Let's get them !" Link rallied the others to subdue the four men, however upon closer look Marth is shocked to see the faces of the men.
"Cain, Abel, Frey, Jagen !" Shouted the swordsman.
"Wait, You know them Marth ?" Asked the confused Red.
"Yes, they're the knights of Altea who served me, but why are you doing this !? And how are you here !?"
"Lord Marth, please don't look at us ! We have fallen so low as to do this !" Abel begged his former king in shame.
"We don't have a choice, we revenants must obey those who bind us." Interjected Jagen.
"Revenants ? Is that what you call yourself ? The revived souls bound by your summoner ?" Asked Link.
"I see, Death behind this is he." Marth spoke in calm voice yet seething with anger.
"It's not him this time, a God named Thanatos give us this order, we can voice our objection but we can never truly disobey his order, that monster really have trampled our knights honor." Lamented Cain.
"Thanatos, that Pit's enemy right ?" Asked Nana.
"To think they have another necromancer in their midst." Said Link.
And then another man walk nonchalantly, he's quite identical to Snake only he's wearing an eyepatch, he's someone Snake knows well.
"Well well if it isn't Big Boss, I take it your in charge for this attack ?" Questioned Snake.
"You should know free will is not something we have anymore, at any rate I'm glad you came just in time before any further damages can be done, thanks to your timely arrival, no one is killed and damages kept at minimum." Big Boss then turned his attention to Marth. "So you're King Marth, your soldiers mentioned you alot, and none of it negative, you piqued my curiosity and I was wondering what kind of person you are, although I don't expect you to have such girly face."
Big Boss comment annoyed Marth while snickers can be heard behind Marth, he glare behind and Red and the others pretend not to laugh.
"Alright Big Boss, why is Thanatos ordering my soldiers to attack this village ?" Asked Marth.
"I don't know, he didn't give any reason why it could be he just wanted wanton destruction." Answered Big Boss.
"What ! That monster ! Attacking a village for his own amusement ! He will pay for this !" Link is filled with anger at hearing his hometown about to be destroyed for no reason.
"Look, I'm glad you're all here, but unfortunately I'm responsible for them now, Thanatos makes it clear failure in mission will result in severe punishment, and I can't let them went through that." Big Boss is ready for a fight. "Get up the four of you, you all know what to do !"
"Lord Marth I'm truly sorry, if it was possible I would prefer death over rasing my Lance towards you." Said Frey in apained expression.
"I'm not holding anything against you all, we're looking for a way to free you from their control, until then you do what you have to do." Marth makes it clear he has nothing against his soldiers.
"Wait you're ordering them to attack us !" Shouted Red.
"Even if we lose against you this way their punishment will be lightened, and also you little girl with the pink parka, I suggest you leave before things get ugly, children should never be in a battlefield." Big Boss giving a chance for Red and Nana to leave.
"Thanks for your concern, but we're no strangers to danger, I may not have my Pokemons with me, but there's always another way to help my allies." Answered Red.
"I'm staying too, I can protect myself." Nana readied her hammer.
"Such resolve from children, alright then, you four refrain from fatally hurting the kids !" Ordered Big Boss.
"Snake, if you don't mind I wish to fight Big Boss for this." Marth tapped Snake at the shoulder.
"Look, I'm not trying to doubt you Marth, but Big Boss is one of the most dangerous soldier my world ever born, not to mention he's a master of many modern weaponry, I think it would be difficult to fight him with archaic weaponry like swords." Replied Snake.
"I fought you didn't I ?" Marth remind Snake about the third tournament.
"There was a rule that limit what I can do, this isn't a tournament it's real conflict."
"Not to worry, Snake I do have something I wish to talk to King Marth here, so for now I'm giving you a handicap to make things fair, I won't be using many of my weapons, how about it ?" Asked Big Boss.
"Alright, but once I'm done with your soldiers I'll back you up !" Snake then entrust Marth to deal with Big Boss as he joined the other fighters fending off the Knights of Altea, but before that he gave Marth a bit of warning. "Watch out, don't let him get close to you, he's a master of martial arts called close quarter combat, it's a mixed use of weapons and martial art."
"Alright, thanks for the warning." Snake left as Big Boss and Marth prepare for battle.
Big Boss dashed toward Marth, quickly closing the distance between them, Marth do a backward somersault to increase their distance, and then he unsheathe his sword and swing it vertically forcing Big Boss to keep his distance, Big Boss throw a grenade towards Marth, but thanks to his experience in fighting many fighters with unique and diverse fighting style Marth grab his sword with two hands and hit the grenade back toward Big Boss, forcing him to dodge and soon after the grenade explodes, creating a small cloud if smoke.
Cain and Abel attacking Link, their movements sync well with each other, putting Link on the defensive as their relentless attack not giving any openings towards Link. But the tide about to turn when Nana riding Wolf Link freeze the ground where the two cavaliers are standing, causing them to slip and fell, but before then Nana jumped from Wolf Link and hit Cain with her hammer, while Wolf Link use his strength to tackle Abel. Link then use his magnesis rune to stole their spears and took them, next Link use the magnesis rune again and aimed it at Cain and Abel's armor and pin them to the ground.
Red and Snake faced off against Frey and Jagen, Jagen ride his horse again after his horse recovered from paralysis, Frey and Jagen took a battle stance and charged at Snake, Red then throw a smoke ball in front of Frey, forcing him to stop and clouding his vision, with the help of Solid Eye Snake while vision isn't obscured by the smoke then throw a grenade at the two knights, the grenade exploded and send the two knights and the horse to fall from the impact, with the smoke still around Snake then shoots a barrage of bullets at the two kinghts, missing on purpose just to intimidate them, Jagen and Frey's unfamiliarity with guns only terrifies them, preventing them from moving their bodies.
Jagen's horse tried to get up, but then Wolf Link growled at the horse, scaring it and run away, ramming at Frey and Jagen, Link then dragged Cain and Abel closer toward Frey and Jagen using the magnesis rune to pin them down as well.
"Umm...that was really easy, to think we just beat four veteran knights this quick." Commented Nana.
"Well they were told not to harm you Nana, and not to mention I have magnetic rune that can mess with metals, that include Spears and armors, Snake here using modern weaponry that can hit from a distance, and Red also support with his items." Link explained how their powers and arsenal are much more versatile compared to the Altean knights.
"Well modern weaponry are more superior compared to swords and spears, we always developed a ways to deal with close or long range attacks." Added Snake.
"So do you think Marth have a chance against Big Boss ?" Asked Red.
"Now that is the question, on one hand I know what Big Boss is capable of, on the other hand Marth have more experienced in fighting foreign enemies and know how to counter them." Answered Snake.
"He does get summoned during the 4th tournament, and have to face with a gun user like Bayonetta, I'm sure he knows what to do." Added Wolf Link.
"At any rate i'll check up on him, it's Big Boss cqc that I'm worried about, you guys stay here, these knights maybe still have some fights left in them, Link you keep doing what you're doing, we don't know how different a revenant bodies compared to humans." Snake then left the group to check on Marth.
Hateno Village Outskirts
Big Boss and Marth continue their battle outskirt the village, each try outdo the other, Marth proved to be a formidable match to Big Boss, because of his experience summoned to the World of Trophy fighting fighters with diverse abilities. Right now Big Boss is hiding behind one of the trees, looking for the perfect chance to strike the Archanean king.
("To think he's able to dodge and counter my attacks, for a medieval Knight he's a force to be reckoned with, if he knows Snake then I guess he has knowledge about modern weaponry.") Big Boss thought to himself.
("I can't let my guard down, Big Boss using the terrain to his advantage, I managed to hold on till now, but every movements count, the tide could be shifted at any moment.") Thought Marth.
As Marth walk slowly looking at his surroundings, unaware he just missed the tree Big Boss was hiding, Big Boss seize the chance to attack Marth, he noticed Big Boss presence but it's too late, Marth swing his sword, but Big Boss duck and punch Marth in the stomach, he grabbed Marth's arm and disarm him, removing the Falchion from his arm, Big Boss then pin Marth down to the ground.
"I got you, struggling is pointless." Said Big Boss pinning Marth down.
Marth refusing to give upkept on thinking to free himself from Big Boss grasp, Marth realized while his body and right arm is pinned down, his left arm isn't, he tried moving his left arm.
"There's nothing you can do now, still respect the effort even if it's just meaningless flailing." Remarked Big Boss noticing Marth moving his left arm.
"Heheh, thanks, but as a king I can't just give up, I will fight to the bitter end." Marth quickly grabbed his crown, removing it from his head, and used the crown to stab Big Boss's hand, catching him off guard, Big Boss grunt in pain, forcing him to let go of Marth, Marth turned around and give Big Boss a kick to the stomach, creating a distance between them, Marth then run to to grab his sword, while Big Boss grabbed his cqc knife, he then charged at Marth, expecting Marth to retaliate with him s sword, however what ended up happening was Marth use his cape to wrap Big Boss knife wielding hand and hit his face with Falchion's hilt, next he pulled the cape down, pulling Big Boss down and do an axe kick to Big Boss back, Marth then pointed the Falchion near his neck.
"This fight is over I suggest you don't prolong this further." Warned Marth.
"Heh, you got me, I surrender, it looks like I did underestimate you, I suppose unlike your knights you have knowledge of modern weaponry and military tactics ?" Marth then let go of Big Boss as the veteran soldier stand up.
"I don't exactly like playing dirty or do whatever it takes to achieve victory, but letting the enemy win just making things worse for us and everyone else. Anyway you insist on dealing with me, is there anything about me that interests you ? I don't know how a warrior from medieval era such as myself could spark an interest of modern soldier such as you ?" Asked Marth.
"It''s more about your position, and how your allies have nothing but good things to say to you, how is someone so universally liked ?" Pondered Big Boss, "King Marth let me ask you straight, as a head of state what is a soldier to you ?"
"A soldier ?"
"Just answer the question."
"Alright, to me a soldier are people who are dedicated themself to protect their country, they train to protect the people from threats, we fight to secure peace for the country." Answered Marth.
"I see, then what if there's no war to fight ? There's no conflict ? What purpose would they have ?" Asked Big Boss.
"They're more than soldiers, they're people first, they have friends and families waiting for them back home, and of course they have life outside of battle, you can always find something outside of battle." Answered Marth.
"So, how are their lives meant to you ? Are they valuable or expendable ?" Big Boss started to ask harsh question.
"No one under my care is expendable, everyone's life are very important to me." Answered Marth.
"Working with Neo Subspace Army I have the chance to speak to your allies, they told me after the end of the war all the royals surrender their territories to you, making you the ruler of the entire continent, I find it hard to believe they're willing to do that, and how can you trust someone with that much power ?"
"I understand what your trying to say Big Boss, power corrupts, the more you have it, it felt never enough to you, but somehow I managed to resist it's allure and built a long term peace for millenia with the power I have, I'm content with what I have and I have no intent to sacrifice everyone by instigating meaningless conflicts, even when Valentia the neighboring continent in front of me I have no interest in invading and further expanding my power for no reason, and I can assure you no matter how hard things get for me I will never use my soldiers as political pawns to be disposed of.
"Whenever your allies speak about you, I don't know how someone can be so beloved, but now that I met you personally, I think I get it, and you know what, I think I actually believe you when you say everyone's life are important to you, you know if my government is anything like you, then maybe I don't have to do what I did in my world, you can trust me to look after your knights, I'll make sure they don't suffer under Thanatos command, but be warned, I don't have any free will, I'm just a puppet to an obviously evil God, so next time we meet I won't go easy on you, i suggest you start learning how to use modern weaponry. Big Boss then walk away from Marth returning to the village. Just then Snake arrived to see them finished their battle.
Big Boss pass Snake by and say, "you got yourself some good friend Snake, I'm glad you find someone you can trust this time."
"I suppose I am, so are you going back ?" Retorted Snake.
"I have no choice, oh and a piece of advice teach, Marth modern weaponry will you, I don't know what would happen should we meet again, I may not gonna go easy on him next time."
"Alright, Marth just gonna have to get used to killing people at long range from now on, so any spoiler about what you're about to do next ?" Said Snake sarcastically trying to get info on Neo Subspace Army.
"Sorry, that's classified, I wish I could tell you but I can't, I can't say anything that reveal our plan, but I can tell you this, I won't be the only family member you're going to meet, ... Snake, I'm happy we managed to patch things up, right now I have to do the same to your brothers, which you will see should you keep going on this path." Big Boss then walked away, his last sentence give Snake an annoyed face.
"Great, it took me this long to reconcile with my father, I wonder how long it gonna takes for me to reconcile with Liquid and Solidus, assuming it's even possible, can't say I'm thrilled to see them again." While Snake murmuring the thought of seeing his brothers again he didn't noticed Marth approaching him.
"Snake ? What are you doing here ?"
"Huh ? Oh, hi Marth, nothing, just doing some thinking, so Big Boss went back to the village to pick up your knights ?"
"Yeah, I wish I can take then with us, but under Thanatos control, I wonder if there's anything we can do, we fail to get the Golden Seed, Big Boss did promise to take care of them."
"Then they're in good hands, I may have issues with him in the past, but one thing I admit he care about his men, that's how he inspire loyalty to anyone he met." With Marth reassured they both went back to the village.
Hateno Village
Link still pinning the on ghts down with his magnesis rune, stacking them on top of each other, Big Boss then returned to the village. "So they lost huh ? I'm actually glad we failed this mission, alright let that magnet go, I'll take it from here."
Link removed the magnesis rune, and since the knights isn't hurt to badly they're ready for another fight.
"Stand down you four, the mission is over, we failed." By Big Boss order the four knights stop what they're doing. "Sorry, they can't stop until someone give an order."
Snake and Marth soon reached the village.
"I promised to save you all from Thanatos control one day, so bear with it until then." Marth promised his knights.
"I hope that day come soon, we can't wait to continue to serve you again King Marth." Replied Jagen.
"So are the rest of us, we're willing to endure all of this if it means we can be free again." Said Abel.
"Big Boss take care of them for me alright, I'm sorry I can't do anything for all of you right now."
"There's nothing to be ashamed of, we will be patient until the day come we're all freed from Thanatos control." Assured Jagen.
"Wait, uh Mr. Big Boss sir, we're here to see if any of Dracula's minions are around, do you see any monstrous beings anywhere near here ?" Asked Red.
"No, I don't, I haven't seen them again after they went to a place called Dragon Palace, I can assure you at the very least they're not here, we went through that forest to get here." Big Boss pointed at Retsam Forest.
"I see, then Hateno Village is safe then." Nana felt relieved.
"Hold on I just realize something, if those monsters and those fairy tale location exist, then Santa Claus gotta be real too right !?" Big Boss came to a sudden realization with hopeful eyes.
"Yeah, that remains to be seen, off you go now and tell Liquid and Solidus I'm not excited to see them again." Snarked Snake.
"I got a long road ahead of me." Big Boss used a device similar to a golden plate the heroes were using teleported himself and the Altean knights away.
"Umm..he believes in Santa Claus ?" Nana questions Big Boss's quirk.
"It's one of his quirks, well looks like there's no monsters who look like came from horror show here, so we say mission accomplished ?" As the heroes about to leave they're approached by a middle aged looking Hylian man with brown hair and beard.
"Mr. Reede ?" Asked Link.
"So Link, this is ?" Asked Snake.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Reede, and I'm the head of the village, we thank you for saving our village from those people, everyone is starting to get out of the house now." Reede pointed at the villagers who are now coming out from the house.
"Sorry we're using the village as a battlefield, everyone must be scared hearing the sounds of explosions and clashing weapons." Link apologized to Reede.
"Not to worry about that, besides the damages are minimal, we can get things fixed in no time, anyway I'm glad you're here, there's something I need your help with." Said Reede.
"Well I guess we can stay for a while, so what's the problem ?" Asked Snake.
"Yes well, here's the thing the children of this village went missing last night, I saw my daughter somehow get up from bed and walk towards Retsam Forest, i tried to stop her, but she gave me this piercing glare that just terrifies me, I already sent people to investigate but they haven't come back either, then those men came and attack us." Explained Reede. "Please I beg of you, save my daughter and the other children of the village."
"I understand, we will investigate this matter." Link and the others then headed to Retsam Forest.
Hyrule - Retsam Forest
"Retsam Forest, I remember when I used to hunt deers here, their population is skyrocketing and the often wrecking the farm field around the village." Explained Link as they traverse through the forest.
"The forest is thick, it seems easy to get lost here." Commented Red.
"Forest are very unfamiliar to me, since I live in a snowy mountain." Nana admitting she's out of her elements.
"Not to worry, I've been here many times, just stay close to me." Link confidently assured his teammates.
"You know talking with Big Boss must be the most civil conversation we have toward our enemies." Pondered Red.
"He's been through a lot, we made our peace in our final hours, those Neo Subspace Army just have to dragged him back to the battlefield again, I swear they will regret this !"
"So Snake, i heard you said Liquid and Solidus, if you don't mind I ask, who are they ?" Asked (TP)Link while returned to his Hylian form.
"It's not exactly a secret, since Big Boss did say I'm gonna see them again I might as well tell you to be ready in advance, you can say they're my brothers." Snake's answer surprised everyone.
"Really ? But you don't seem happy to talk about it ?" Noticed Marth.
"Yes, well the three of us doesn't exactly see eye to eye, and that's an understatement."
"Is it sibling rivalry ? My sister Elice and myself have such moments, but despite that we love each other dearly, when my kingdom was under attack by Dohlr army, I was very afraid if I ever see her alive again."
"My situations are a bit more complex, but I suppose I'm a bit jealous about your relationship with your sister, I don't know if it's even possible for me to be on good terms with Liquid and Solidus." Doubted Snake.
"You managed to reconcile with Big Boss after all this time, don't give up hope just yet, I just know it's possible to settle things between your brothers." Answered Marth with strong optimism.
"I hope so, the world have been very cruel to us, I just hope they're willing to forgive and let go after enduring what they've been through."
"So, your code name is Solid Snake, your brothers are Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake ? Shouldn't the third one should be called Gas Snake ?" (TP)Link ask such a stupid question.
"Answer me this, doesn't Gas Snake sound stupid to you ?" Snake pointed out the obvious to the Hylian.
"Good point." Agreed (TP)Link.
The heroes keep on walking through the forest with Link leading the way, but then without warning somehow Link ended up separated with the others. "Everyone !? It can't be I took my eyes off for a second and they're gone ? How is this possible ?"
"Link ! Snake ! Nana ! Answer me !" Red shouted hoping the others hear him.
"How did we ended up separated !? It was fine a minute ago !? Wait, could Dracula's minions really be here doing this ?" Pondered Snake.
"Everyone where are you !?" Shouted Nana.
"What just happened ? We were together a minute ago, but now ?" Marth looking his surrounding.
"Something's not right here, how could we ended separated like this ?" (TP)Link started to look around as well.
As Marth continue walking, he felt like he's being watched, like he's not alone, and he's right, there's someone standing at a tree branch, wearing a full dark blue cloak that covers it's entire body, the person form what seems like a fireball in his palm and launched it toward Marth. Sensing the attack Marth quickly dodged the fireball. The sorcerer then teleport to another tree, preparing another fireball and shoot it again. Marth now sure there's someone trying to attack him know what he must do. The sorcerer keep throwing fireballs at him which Marth able to dodge so far, but he's on a defensive, unable to strike back, he then saw a rock and throw it at the sorcerer who teleported away to dodge the attack, while Marth is fighting another figure is watching his battle from afar.
Nana also feel like being watched, someone then teleported behind her she's a masked sorceress wearing a pink dress and long brown hair tied in a ponytail style. Nana turned around to see the sorceress behind her, she took a step back, wanting to get away from the sorceress. She shoot a fireball towards Nana, but she managed to stop it with her ice blast, the clash produce a big steam that clouds vision, Nana then charged at the sorceress and swing her hammer to attack her, the sorceress teleported back a little to avoid being hit, the sorceress shoot Nana with lightning, and thanks to the ice surrounding her melt Nana is electrocuted by the lightning, the sorceress then took Nana's hammer away from her and electrocute her some more until she fainted, the sorceress then drag Nana away. "How low are we going to sunk, harming children, please save us." Muttered the sorceress.
Meanwhile (TP)Link have a plan in mind. "Hmm...maybe if I do this I can find them." He turned into his wolf form trying to sniff his friends out, and he did caught some scent.
Red also seemed to come up with an idea. "Hmm...we got separated just like that, this can't be normal, but I guess I have to try anything." Red open his bag and found a goggle like device. "If someone is behind this the Silph Scope should help me find the culprit." Red then wore the Silph Scope. As he looked around he saw a deer like figure standing and walking around, the deer looks a lot like a reindeer with fancy antlers with orb llike eyes located in the middle of the antlers.
"What ! Stantlers !? How did they ended up in Hyrule ? No matter this must be how we ended up separated, Stantlers using illusions to separate us ! Hold on, if I capture it, maybe it will dispel the illusion, but it's too far, I wonder if..." Red then pull some berries out from his bag, using it to lure the Pokemon closer to him. He placed it on the ground to create a trail of berries and hide behind the bushes. The Stantler smelled the berries and walk towards it, eating it until it got close to the bush Red is hiding, as it come close Red throw an ultra ball, putting the Stantlers inside the ball, after a few shaking the ball finally stop shaking, successfully capturing the Stantler. However it doesn't feel like the illusion is dispelled. Red then sent it out.
"Hmm the illusion doesn't seemed to be dispelled, I wonder if there's another Stantler in this forest, Stantler can you dispel the illusion in this forest ?" Before the Stantler can do anything space in the forest becoming distorted, as it turns out Red saw another Stantler being chased by Wolf Link.
"Uuhh.. now's our chance ! Stantler dispel this illusion !" Obeying Red's command Stantler disabled the illusion revealing that the heroes aren't separated far, but the illusion prevent them from able to hear each other.
The sorcerers surprised by the vanishing illusion Marth and the heroes seizing the chance to defeat them.
"Marth ! Duck !" Marth ducked while Snake fire his gun to the blue sorcerer, causing the sorcerer to fall from the tree, shortly after Snake done shooting Marth got up strike the sorcerer with his sword, and the sorcerer fell to the ground.
As Marth tried to unmask the sorcerer, the sorceress reached the sorcerer first, Marth noticing the sorceress appearance begin to say a name that he hope was wrong. "You, it can't be you is it Linde ?" The sorceress remove her mask confirming Marth fear, Linde then unmasked the sorcerer turns out he's a man with green hair, someone Marth also knows very well. "Merric, no does that mean you two also.."
"A revenant, yes we are, Marth were very sorry, we didn't want to do this, but we cannot disobey our master !" Merric and Linde wracked with immense guilt. "We were forced to do despicable things under his control, why must this happened to us !"
"A friend of yours Marth ?" Asked Link.
"Yeah, they're my comrades during the war, this is Merric and Linde, they're mages, and they're a powerful magic user." Answered Marth.
"Magic huh ? So does that mean the illusion was their doing ?" Inquire Snake.
"No the one responsible for the illusion is right here." Red pointed at the Stantler.
"This is one unusual deer, I've never seen one like this before, not to mention a deer that can conjure illusion." Commented Link.
"That's because this isn't just a deer Stantler is a Pokemon, they have the power to cast illusions to protect themselves." Explained Red.
"Wait that's the cause ? My solid eye unable to detect anything, how do you find out Red ?"
"I used a device from my world called Silph Scope, it can see through ghosts and invisible things, no offense Snake, but I guess your tech isn't equipped against supernatural powers." Answered Red.
"Merric, Linde were you the one that abduct the children from the village ?" Questioned Marth.
"We have no choice, we cannot disobey our master !" Yelled Merric.
"Who is your master ?" Asked Marth.
"Well..." Before Merric can answer a struggling noise can be heard from behind the two mages, another Stantler and that was chased by Wolf Link and a man wearing a green hood, he has an ugly face, but that's not what matters as he's an enemy from Marth's time. Wolf Link then revert back to his Hylian form.
"Gharnef ! So you're behind this abduction ! To think I'll see you again !" Yelled the king.
"So this is Gharnef you speak of Marth, he really is hideous." Commented Red.
Gharnef got up and replying to the king. "Well well if it isn't my hated enemy Marth, that's right I'm back and I will have my revenge on you, but first do you like what you see, Merric and Linde are now my disciple, seeing Miloah agonized face when I decide to train his daughter was very satisfying to watch hahahaha..."
"You ! You're the one ordering Merric and Linde to do this ! Answer Me !" Yelled Marth.
"Yes I am, part of my lesson is teaching them how magic are supposed to be used, and wouldn't you know it Merric and Linde are fast learner, why it brought joy to see the potential these two actually have, hahahahaha..."
"Using magic to kidnap people, that's not how a power supposed to be used !" Yelled Link.
"What's your aim Gharnef ? Why are you kidnapping children from the village !?" Asked Link.
"Why indeed, oh that's right, none of your business ! Lucky for me I have these with me." Gharnef snapped his finger and the Stantler Wolf Link chased come to him.
"Did you used your magic to control the Stantler too ?" Asked Red.
"Stantler ? Is that what they're called, their power surprise us indeed, these 'Stantlers' trapped us within an illusion, but of course for a great sorcerer like myself it only took me minutes to realize something's wrong, I encounter powers I never seen before, so I used my magic to determine the source of the illusion and these 'Stantler' is what I found to be the source, not wanting to waste its potential I control it using my magic, and what a valuable tool it is, it made our mission so much easier." Explained Gharnef.
"Using Pokemons powers to harm others, that's unforgivable !" Shouted Red. "You abducted those children from their families !"
"And I'll gladly do it again, this creatures 'Pokemons was it ? They hold such potential, and I will sure to make use of that !." The heroes filled with anger hearing Gharnef callousness, the two Links ready to fight as they charged at Gharnef, however he used his magic and teleported a seleeping Nana in front of them, using her as a shueld forcing the Links to stop attacking.
"Now one more step and the little girl gets it." Threatened Gharnef as the Hylians take a step back.
"Nana ! Curse you Gharnef, give her back !" Yelled Snake.
"Hehehe make me !" Gharnef then fire numerous dark orbs toward the heroes, they all scrambled to avoid being hit and then Gharnef ordered Merrick and Linde to attack, firing the heroes with barrages of fireballs and lightning strikes.
"Great, I have no defense against magic, hmm hold on, I can shoot the wizard without hitting Nana." Suggested Snake who are hiding behind a tree with Marth.
"Wait Snake..." Before Marth finished his sentence Snake fire bullets at the sorcerer, however the bullets failed to hit the sorcerer as he's protected by a barrier. "I knew it he have Imhullu with him, Snake he's protected by a magic barrier, I don't think that's something a bullet can Pierce through."
"Okay now I'm out of my elements here, Marth you deal with him before right, how do we get past the barrier ?"
"Imhullu is a dark magic, the only way to counter it is using a spell called Starsphere or Lightsphere." Explained Marth.
"Dark magic you say ? If it's something evil, do you think the Master Sword can deal with it ? Our sword is the bane of evil it shoudl work against Imhullu." Said Link this hiding behind a tree nest to Snake and Marth.
"It's worth to try, but we also need to get past Merric and Linde first." Agreed Marth.
"Leave them to me, if we're dealing with magic, then we'll fight with magic too." (TP)Link pull out a Dominion Rod and summon two large statues, using the Dominion Rod (TP)Link control the statues to attack Merrick and Linde, diverting their focus against the large statues. Merrick and Linde is now focused on attacking the moving statues.
"It's working, now to get close to Gharnef !" Exclaimed Marth.
"Leave that part to me," offered Red. "Stantler cover Link using your illusion, make sure Gharnef attacks won't reach him." Stantler agreed and move together with Link.
"Uuh where are these statues coming from ?" Gharnef have to dodge the incoming punches from the statues, Merrick ! Linde ! Guard your master properly !"
Merric aim a large fireball at one of the statues arm, he shoot it and the arm is destroyed, with the pieces fell to the ground, Linde then attack the other statue by firing a lightning at the knee, destroying one of it's leg and the statue fell from the imbalance, the diversion worked with the three sorcerers distracted Link able to get behind Gharnef without problem and strike his sword at Gharnef, Gharnef realizing too late there's someone behind him, but he's still very confident until, the Imhullu barrier is cracking, the Master Sword able to crack the barrier.
Gharnef begin to panic as there's something else other than Starlight and Lightsphere spell to counter the Imhullu. "What !? How !?" Gharnef then telported away before the barrier is destroyed completely. "Grrr... Don't think you've won, it hasn't even started ! We have what we came here for, and we got more, let's leave !" Gharnef aboit to telport away.
"Wait ! Gharnef where's the children you've abducted !?" Shouted Marth as the heroes run to save Nana.
"You're too late, those brats are they're with us even before you came to this forest !" Gharnef then teleport away along with the Stantler under his control, Merric, Linde, and Nana
"No, they got Nana, we have to save her !" Shouted Marth.
"Marth calm down, we don't know where they took her, and the village children." Red tried to calm Marth down.
"Umm... Well look at the bright side, maybe Nana can rescue the children when she wake up." Said Snake. "Right now we don't know where they keep those children, hopefully nothing too serious."
"We need to come back to the village and tell Mr. Reede about this, the villagers aren't going g to be happy about this." Link and the others went back to Hateno Village, with the illusions gone they manage to find the missing adults sent to investigate the missing children, they brought them back to the village as well.
Hateno Village
"And so that's what happened, we're sorry we failed to rescue them, but please don't worry, we won't until we found them." Link explained the situation to Reede and his wife Clavia, needless to say they didn't take it well.
"Please, save my daughter Karin, she means the world to us." Clavia broken-down in tears afraid of never seeing her daughter again.
"You have my word we will rescue your daughter safe and sound." Assured Link.
"Thank you, sorry this is a really tough time for us, hopefully we'll get through this." After that Reede and Clavia went back inside their house and the villagers also in a depressed mood seeing their children also not there.
"Sorry Marth, if only we were a bit more stronger then, maybe we at least know where they hold those children." Lamented Red.
"You're not to blame for this, the way mages fight isn't what you call fair or straightforward, they use wits, plannings, cunning, and pretty much the opposite of physical force." Marth explained the difference of magic and brute strength.
"I get it though, it's like when it come to type advantage Paychic type are more powerful than Fighting type, you know brains vs brawn dynamic, with Gharnef interested in Pokemons now things will get hard for us." Said Red. "How did those Stantlers got here in the first place though ?"
"Let's go back for now, it doesn't seem any of Dracula's minions are here, not to mention we're tired from thise battles, we will discuss our next move there." Marth used the golden plate to teleport back to S.S. Light.
Underworld Castle
Big Boss and his team back to the Underworld Palace where Thanatos is waiting.
"I didn't sense any souls in the afterlife, that means your mission ends in failure am I right ?" Thanatos definitely look less than pleased.
"We're very sorry Lord Thanatos, when we were trying to piunder the village those people showed up and ruined everything for us." Explained Big in front of Thanatos.
"Who ? Don't tell me it's those meddling do gooder heroes !?"
"Correct my lord, and we've failed in defeating them, they have powers and objects that outside my usual elements."
"Grrr...fine they're a powerful enemy I give them that, Big Boss I decide not to punish your men, use this time to train those medieval knights in using modern weaponry, this should give them a surprise next time." Thanatos then left the chamber looking very bitter.
("The plan worked, they don't have to continue with razing the village, and escape punshime t by saying the heroes defeat us.") Big Boss smirked knowing his plan worked.
And that's that, this chapter is done, one of the longest I've written, though I wonder if 8000 words are counted as long, but oh well.
In this chapter I actually tried to draw some parallel between Marth and Big Boss as Metal Gear and Fire Emblem have war as their main theme. Their similarities such as how they're able to earn the loyalty of so many people. And there's also Marth is both a soldier and head of state, who obviously the kind who won't see people lives as expendable for political purposes.
The Master Sword work against Imhullu spell because it's a weapon that's lethal against evil forces, and considering this is a crossover obviously what can't be found in their own world can be found in another world, and this means alternate means to counter Imhullu.
The reason (TP)Link recognize current Hyrule because he's summonable through amiibo, which I consider 'canon'.
