Chapter 26
Another day arrived at the training camp, another long day of working hard for the group of young students in the Hero Academy. And while it seemed as if would be just one more day of hell for them. Soon, it would all change, and of course. The only student there who knew about what would happen in a few hours was just standing there, looking at the view before her with no expression on her face.
Galadriel sighed at the fact it would soon end. But not that she was sad or angry. She was eager about the work ahead. There was a lot she had to pay attention to, and many details to always care for, and that brought just another sight from her.
Ah, this is going to be a long day, without a doubt. Well, there is nothing else to do but to give my best!
Galadriel thought as she stared at the group of students completely worn off by the hard training of Aizawa. And if she was honest, besides all the preparations outside her upcoming plans, she was enjoying the camp. It was truly a pleasurable experience for Galadriel. Her first-ever school camping trip and it was just as she ever wanted to be.
Eating, telling histories around a campfire. Slumber party with the other girls. Truly, I need to prepare one for Nazarick! It's going to be so much fun!
Galadriel smiled, as she then looked at a certain group of students who looked rather exhausted.
"I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!"Kirishima said, trying his hardest to move his feet with no luck.
"This is harder than I thought," Sero said, following Kirishima's tire body.
"Those extra lessons yesterday did not help us at all," Sato added, sweating immensely.
Galadriel held her giggle at the sight of those poor students, knowing full well how hard it could be for a young person to get a hold of those types of activities. It didn't matter if they were heroes in training. It was still hard.
"Hey there, don't be like that. It may be hard, but it would prove useful to all of you," Galadriel said, smiling, as the group stared at her.
"We just want to rest..."
"Yeah..."
"Pinky, are you alright? Is your training hard?" Galadriel asked, to her pinky little pet.
"It just rough, I am still very sleepy," Ashido said, giving a soft smile.
Galadriel noticed Ashido's hands and saw burned marks on her palms. The constant use of her acid was getting a toll on her. And while it was clear that for many whose quirks have the same effect on their body. Those kids weren't quitting, no matter how much they groan or moaned in pain. Galadriel has looked around when the training began and kept an eye out for all of them. Inspecting them to see how could they improve their quirks and whatnot. Yet, she felt strange looking at them, giving them all. Never truly quitting their goals.
"Our bodies are all tense and sore, ah I can barely move my legs," Kaminari said, as even he had marks of his overuse quirk in his body.
"I told you this would be rough," Aizawa said while approaching them.
They all looked at him, as the professor knew also that their bodies were getting beaten up by the training. But there was no other way to push the limits of their quirks. And it was something Galadriel knew as well. I must learn more about quirks. Our information is still lacking a great deal. Galadriel thought.
"Sato and Kaminari, reaching your limits is a matter of life and death. To increase that capacity, repeated and extended quirk use is key. Sero, the same is with you and your capacity. The tape needs to be strengthened and your take fire increase. Ashido, you need to improve your skin's resistance against your acid during periods of extended use. And Kirishima, you need to build muscles and making your body even harder will create a nice synergy effect."
Galadriel saw no fault in his logic at all. Truly, there was no other way to strengthen them. And while it may suck for them, well, she knows that in a few years they would come to realize how right he was, if they don't realize it by now.
"And I believe you know that as well, miss Nazarick," Aizawa said, staring at the white-haired girl.
"I do, professor."
The professor nodded, although he could see how those golden eyes were staring at the group. He wondered what was she thinking in those moments. But shrugged it off.
"But most importantly. You all have to make up for your piss-poor performance during the final exam!"
Galadriel held her laugh once again at the shocked look of the students who failed or had poor performance during the last exam. As they all seemed to want to disappear at the glare of a furious professor who then picked each of the students apart. There was no day the sudden change of topic, or environment won't stop to amaze her. And while Aizawa was tearing his students apart, she saw how Todoroki was looking at his hands. The boy seemed troubled, or rather thoughtful, at the words of his teacher. Galadriel wondered, of his reasoning behind not using his other arm. She knew a bit, but not enough. Still, she approached him and interrupted his thoughts.
"Todoroki, what are you thinking?" Galadriel asked as she tilted her head.
Todoroki looked at her and thought about what to say.
"Just thinking of who I want to be," he said.
Galadriel thought about it. The prospect of learning and becoming someone with dreams was rather new to her. Yet, she could understand how the kids felt, as if it was time for them to lead a path of their own. To become the hero they wanted to be.
"Mm, I think I get it."
"Do you?" Todoroki said with a small hint of sarcasm.
"Perhaps not, but I see it in your eyes. The fight with someone who wishes not to be compared to someone. It's hard to explain it, right? You want to be yourself, but you don't know where to start. Or to whom talk to."
Todoroki stared at her, not knowing what to respond. Yet, those words echo in his mind.
"Just try to be you, Todoroki. Even though you don't know where to begin, if you continue to do the same thing you always do, you'll never be more of what you are right now," Galadriel said, smiling gently at him, as she remembered those words. Where did I hear that before? Was it from a movie or a book? Galadriel wondered.
Todoroki allowed those words to roam his mind, as he couldn't shake the feeling of wonder and thankfulness to hear such a thing. He wanted to be a hero. But different from his father, from what he grew up. Todoroki wanted to be different. He wanted to leave the resentment away, and if possible, becoming a great hero, without taking the same path her father did. Would he leave the hate and forgive his father? Who knows? But right now, he couldn't think of a better way to move on, but to try to pass on that hatred. For now.
"You can say wise things sometimes," Todoroki said. "Very few times."
"Eh?! What does that supposed to mean?!" Galadriel asked, with an offended tone in her voice.
"Nothing at all," Todoroki said, as he on a rare occasion smiled, but it was brief. And no one could see it.
"Pff, such a rude boy," Galadriel muttered while Todoroki only shook his head, holding the smile inside his head.
"I apologize. I did not intend to offend you," Todoroki said.
Galadriel huffed at him but humored him today. She was feeling rather playful today. So she smiled. Galadriel often wondered if being surrounded by young kids brought that side of her to light. The part that never had to chance to live. That girl back in high school left to rotten in the midst of abuse and death hopes.
"Of course, I know you won't. You like me too much," Galadriel said, smiling. Todoroki simply stared at him, confused. As then, Galadriel softly pats his head.
"Isn't that right, Todoroki?" She said again, with a loud, teasing smile.
Todoroki said nothing, as he only turned around and continue his training. Galadriel giggled at the reaction of the boy. She finds it rather addicting to tease them. I wonder if this is going to lead to problems? Nah, I don't believe it. Galadriel thought, unaware of her actions regarding the teasing, and more.
"Hey, Todoroki, where are you going?" She asked innocently, as she saw the half-burned kid walking away, hiding his face with his hair.
"Mm, training is not over," he replied while sounding embarrassed.
"Ah, alright don't try to push you too hard!"
Ah, well, let's enjoy our time here before the operation starts. I will very busy soon.
Galadriel thought as she went back to do whatever she was doing with her training. And she didn't notice a certain duo looking at her with different mixed feelings. Well, Galadriel was for a long, amusing, and hysterical ride. One that would surely make her life more interesting and rather bring a whole new misunderstanding into her life. But what was life without surprises?
The night came and just like the last few days. The students were helping to create the dinner; it was a rather peaceful evening to see all of them working together to achieve something rather normal. And there she was, the glorious demon empress. The powerful being, that commanded the respect and loyalty of creatures and monsters alike of immense power that the world has ever seen. There, cutting carrots with care and holding an apron of bunnies while wearing a cute little short jeans, and a simple blue sweater. She had her hair on a pony tail with a cute blue ribbon. Such an intimidating sight for anyone. Or something else.
Maybe if a certain succubus saw her beloved one cutting carrots and wearing such a cute outfit would react rather peculiarly. After all, Albedo loved taking pictures of her dear lady wearing any type of clothes. The succubus has an extensive collection of her lady in many attires. And they were shared with some of the other beings of Nazarick. Galadriel has heard of it, but a part of her ignored it completely. It was rather stupid for something like that to happen. But for some reason, the idea of Albedo sneaking up on her brought shivers to Galadriel, who was cutting the carrots. It can't be, right? Albedo taking pictures of me without my consent... that, of fuck, who am I kidding? Of course, she would do something like that! Galadriel thought with dread.
The demon empress looked around, worry about Albedo's newfound hobby.
I don't doubt she has pictures of me in my bikini! I knew it was strange when she asked us to take a date on the beach!
Galadriel groaned as she whimpered at the idea of the guardian's sharing photos of her in different outfits. It was a bit hilarious, but at the same time, weird.
"Galadriel, what is it?"
The white-haired girl turned around and saw Uraraka holding plates. "Ah, nothing. Just thinking of something rather embarrassing, that's all."
"Uh, something embarrassing?" Uraraka asked, tilting her head.
"Mm, what would you do if your family had pictures of you wearing silly costumes and sharing them with other people?" Galadriel asked, to which Uraraka laughed nervously.
"Yeah... that would be embarrassing," she said.
"Now you know, my prerogative."
"Don't worry, I am sure they aren't that bad!"
"Yeah... and that's the problem."
Uraraka wasn't sure of what could those words mean, but she smiled at the funny face of the white-haired girl. "I am sure they just love you. After all, that's what family is for! To embarrass us sometimes!" Galadriel saw the girl with pink cheeks and brown hair and couldn't help herself but smile.
"You're right, that's what family is for," Galadriel said, smiling brightly.
"Hey! Stop wasting time and start cutting!"
Bakugo yelled as he was Galadriel's partner on the cutting carrots job. And the bomb kind only brought a laugh out of Galadriel as she started to eat some of the carrots out of Bakugo's plate. And, of course, it only makes Galadriel took take more.
"STOP EATING THE CARROTS!"
"Umu, the carrots are good. Try it. Here say ah~!"
Bakugo's face transformed slowly into one of a demon, curiously enough. And it only brought a bigger smile to Galadriel. Watching the kid before her have an aneurysm was always amusing.
"Alright, sorry about it, Bakugo. I am just hungry, that's all."
Galadriel said softly, earning just a glare from the bomb-kid.
"Tch, stupid... albino."
Bakugo hissed but said nothing else, but instead, he cut a large carrot and made it into small pieces, and added some salt and lemon to it. Galadriel stared confused at what was he doing, but then Bakugo gave it to her on a small plate. "There eat this." He said, hissing the words, but he did not sound angry at all. Galadriel genuinely stared, confused, but took the plate, and observe it. She took a small bite, and it surprised her. The carrots with salt and lemon actually tasted good. Galadriel wondered where did he learn to cook.
"Ah, this taste salty... but good," Galadriel said, still surprised by the flavor.
Bakugo glared at her as if something offended him.
"I would have added some cucumber and mango, or more but we don't have it here," Bakugo said, while furiously cutting the other carrots.
"Oh, truly? I would love to try it later," Galadriel said while eating the pieces of carrots, enjoying the saltiness and sour combination. Bakugo scoffed but only nodded at her as if he was telling her that he would give it to her in the future for some reason. Galadriel said nothing, as she kept on eating.
"Thank you, Bakugo. But where did you learn this? It's a hobby of yours, cooking? If that so, it's so out of character."
"Shut up!" Bakugo roared, but the smile of Galadriel only made him hate her so much more.
"Yeah, yeah... still, I appreciate it. Thank you, it was nice of you."
Galadriel thanked him, as she made a mental note to bring this strange recipe to Nazarick chef. Bakugo's face remain calmed, as he wanted to avoid the smile of the white-haired girl that he hated so much.
"Fuck off, and stop eating the food."
"Sorry, can't do... can you give me more?"
"STOP EATING!"
"No, feed me! Please!"
"FUCK OFF! STOP EATING MY CARROTS!"
The girls were all giggling at the sight of Galadriel and Bakugo's interactions. The bet was on. And while all of that was happening. Galadriel saw how Midoriya was talking with Todoroki. And from what she could hear from where she was, and reading their lips. It seemed something about All Might. And if she remembered, All Might and some of the pro-heroes were in a sort of meeting. She would ask Albedo about what the meeting was about, but for now. She would keep an eye open for whatever those other organizations would do after her guardian's debut. It would be interesting to see what they were thinking when the news came out.
"Alright, put the stew to boil is time to eat!"
Galadriel heard those words, and she would only think of one thing. Food.
"Well, I can wait for the rest later."
Galadriel said, as she smiled, thinking of what else could she eat while being there. But then she felt a nudge and knew there was a message coming in. So, slowly, she allowed herself to leave the premises. Hopefully, there would be a sort of news for her. There in silence, away from everyone, she took precautions so no one could hear her.
"Let's see what Albedo has to say," Galadriel whispered.
"{Albedo, what you have for me?}"
"{My lady, Demiurge has made contact with Shie Hassaikai. And we have fun some interesting news.}"
"{Oh, what type of news you speak of?}" Galadriel asked, intrigued.
"{It seems as if they are developing a drug capable of erasing quirks.}"
Galadriel was now more interested than before.
"{How they accomplish that?}" She asked.
"{A drug of sorts, from what Demiurge told me in the reports. The substance comes from a DNA sample. It eliminates the Quirks, or, well, it nullified their abilities. They are still on testing grounds, but it looks as if does exactly that.}"
"{We need to know how they are capable of such things. Do we have a lead?}"
"{Our spies were able to infiltrate the secret base of the organization. Demiurge would do his best to sort this out. But we have made a good first impression on their leader. Although, they don't seem to trust us.}" Albedo said, with a rather amusing tone in her voice.
"{Well, they are smart to do so. Tell Demiurge to keep the contact and learn more about them. Also, to our agents... I want to know all of it, and where this DNA sample comes from.}"
"{It will be done so, my lady.}"
Galadriel trusts Demiurge's ability to charm everyone, but also to play around with words. There won't be mistakes, she was sure of it. But putting her trust in Demiurge aside, she wondered what could she do with that piece of information about the drug. If possible, she would get her hands on it before anything else take place. And if she had to destroy Shie Hassaikai before they could do anything else, she would order Demiurge to do so. No one had to be able to get the upper hand against them.
"{My lady, Lupusregina, also reports that the operation of the Villain League will start shortly. Once the sun hides down.}"
"{I understand. Please relay the orders to Pandora's Actor. We must be sure to set the surrounding protections. Do we have our eyes and ears on their base?}"
"{Yes, my lady. We have.}"
"{Good, then it's time for us to move.}"
"{Yes, my love! I can't wait to see your performance!}" Albedo gushed, making Galadriel smile.
"{I know you will. After all, it would make me look fragile to our enemies, making them overconfident. But also, wary. Although, I do believe Pandora's Actor would surely exaggerate. Well, in any case, I will see you soon.}" Galadriel said.
"{I will wait for you here, my love! You look so beautiful and cute with that apron!}" Albedo exclaimed as Galadriel could feel the passion emanating from her succubus lover. But then she listened about the apron she was wearing. How does she know?
"{Ah, also Albedo... mm, how do you know about my apron?}"
"{...}"
"{Albedo? Please tell me you don't actually take pictures of me without my consent.}"
"{Pzzzz... Pzzzz... I can't hear you, my lady! Something is going on! Pzzzz... I can't hear you!}"
Galadriel listened to the message ending, as she couldn't help but laugh loudly at the sudden action of Albedo. Truly, the NPCs were becoming more and more alive each year. And she loved it.
"Well, let's see how it goes."
"Bellies are filled and plates are clean! Next up... is the test of courage!" Pixie-Bob said as the students were all surprised about the normalcy of the event.
Ashido and the rest of those who failed the class were more than just happy. They wanted some freedom finally, but then again, professor Aizawa had another thing in mind.
"Sorry, but all of you won't be able to participate in this... you all have extra lessons with me."
"NO WAAAAAY!"
Ashido yelled as she couldn't believe her misfortune and the rest were of the same mind.
"Gali! Please save me! Please! Don't leave me!"
"Sorry, my dear pinky... it's too late for that. I will miss you."
"NOOOOO!"
Ashido cried as she was being dragged by Aizawa with the rest of those poor souls. The poor girl. Galadriel only smiled, but she was glad Ashido was away. It would be better if she was not present when things go south. She will be safe from harm. Galadriel thought.
Pixie-Bob explained to them what they should all do, and what the entire event was about. And honestly, Galadriel wondered if she could recreate such a thing with Nazarick. Well, it would be quite hard since they would all use a skill to detect each other. But perhaps, she could put some rules and things like that. Galadriel shook her head, as she had to pay attention to what was to come.
"Ugh, I hate spooky things," Jiro groaned.
"A banquet of darkness," Tokoyami whispered all mysteriously.
"It's the second time he said it," Uraraka replied.
The rules were set and while it would have been funny to see who scare who, and whatnot. Galadriel knew the games were over. She didn't bother to take part in the whole team draw thing. Nevertheless, it would be over soon.
"Ah, Galadriel... it seems that we are a duo," Midoriya said timidly. "We are the last one without a partner."
"Oh, alright then, I am in your care, Midoriya," Galadriel replied with a smile.
"We only have to wait our turn," Midoriya said.
Galadriel only nodded as she stared at the green-haired boy, who was looking at the forest in deep thought. "So, what are you thinking about, Midoriya? You seem bother by something."
"Ah, sorry... just thinking about the little cousin of Mandalay. He seems to detest everything hero related, since they killed his parents. And I just want to change that if possible."
"Umu, a rather heroic endeavor you have there. But there is something still troubling you, right?" Galadriel asked, as her golden eyes stared at Midoriya.
Midoriya wondered the same. Something was bothering him recently, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. A sense of something missing, of who he wanted to be. The words of All Might play on his mind most of the time. But he wanted something more. He truly wanted to change the world, but there was also the fact that things were bigger than him. And he was still lacking not only in power but in his goal. Does he want to be a carbon copy of All Might? Or his own self? He wasn't sure yet.
"I just want to find my own way. That's all, but I don't know where to start."
Galadriel seemed satisfied with that answer.
"I know you will, Midoriya. I know you will be the greatest hero in the world if you put your mind on it."
Midoriya stared at the white-haired girl with a smile, and he felt rather strong now. He was sure he would find his answer soon. But then, something happened. The smell of burning wood and more came to the training ground.
"Something it's wrong," Midoriya said.
Galadriel sighed, as her skills detected the villains. And Lupusregina was already winking at her from the dark. I hope she doesn't get too excited. She thought. Then, surprising all of them, except for Galadriel, something pulled Pixie-Bob to the forest, where an enormous piece of metal hit her in the head. The sound was rather nasty, but the cat lady was still alive.
"How... how are the villains here?" Mineta whispered, terrified.
"Pixie-Bob!" Midoriya yelled.
Galadriel stared at the lizard guy and the other one. They were not really threatening to her and not because of power, but they just don't look. Evil. Well, that's what she thought.
"Please to meetcha U.A. students! We're the league of villain's vanguard action squad! And we are here for a special job!"
"League of villains? How did they find us?" Ojiro said, as his body and tail seemed tense.
"Should I go ahead and crush her pretty little skull? Should I?" the other villain said while holding the giant metal piece and slowly pushing it down to Pixie-Bob's head.
Galadriel looked behind them, where Lupusregina was standing, and she wondered what was the Pleiades maid waiting for. My dear, Lupusregina, what on earth are you waiting for? Galadriel wondered. Perhaps it's me the one missing something? Ah, I... Um, I don't remember having to do something. Or should I? Ah!
"I KNOW WHERE HE IS!" Midoriya yelled, as he suddenly left. Galadriel looked around and noticed that she missed something. Not good, yet she had to make sure to follow the plan.
Then again, she stared at Lupusregina, who was sitting on a tree branch, making her signs of sorts.
F.O.L.L.O. W H.I.M.!
Follow him? Who? Midoriya? Galadriel wondered, as she stared at Lupusregina, who was again making some sorts of signs.
A.L.O.N.E.!
Ah! I get it now! I should separate, follow Midoriya and help him save the kid, and then she will attack and I will push Midoriya away and all of that. Then I will change place with Pandora's Actor, so they could then act and make a scene before everyone while I go back to Albedo and prepare the rest! Galadriel thought quickly. Sometimes my genius frightens me! She gave a small smile to Lupusregina and left quietly. The Plaides only shook her head at the sight of her beloved lady
"Well, let's begin!" Galadriel whispered as she wondered what kind of mess Pandora's Actor and Lupusregina would do.
