Chapter 40
The moonlight's only purpose currently was to shine above an empty and rusty old warehouse, much to the grievance of a certain young man, who scoffed at the sight of the place he was heading. Kai Chisaki, better known as Overhaul, looked aghast at the piles of dust on the windows and the large metal door. His body shivered with disgust, and his anxiety just looking at them made him sick.
"Hey, are you kidding me? Give me a break... what's with this place?" Overhaul muttered, anxious. "This place is so dusty... dirty... I can feel it on my skin... and on my face. I feel I'll get sick."
Twice just chuckled happily. "Don't worry! This is just a temporary headquarters for us! Besides, all the people inside are already sick!"
Overhaul didn't know what that meant, but he wasn't glad to hear it. Not one bit. However, Overhaul entered the old and nasty place, only to be received by stares at what was left of the Villain League. There, sitting on top of some boxes, Tomura stared at Overhaul.
"Mm, you brought a crazy big fish, huh, Twice?" He mentioned, as Overhaul just stared back at him.
"Big fish? I don't know about that. It seems ironic... because, on my part. I expected more from the so-called League of Villains."
Overhaul's words annoyed some as they realised what he meant by that. Still, Tomura kept his mouth shut, not saying anything about it. He only kept on staring at Overhaul.
"Uh, what? Is that guy someone famous?" Magne asked, staring down at Overhaul.
"Master showed me a picture of him before," Tomura stated. "He's what you'd call a Yakuza. The current and young head of the Shie Hassaikai. A relic of old times."
Overhaul's eyebrows twitched at that statement. Overhaul truly hated to be reminded about that practical detail.
"Oh! So he's the number two of organised crime? Oh my! I've never seen anyone like him! He smells dangerous!" Magne said, blushing with excitement. "Hey, Regina, do you think he's my type?!"
As the unofficial number two, Regina sat next to Tomura, silently looking at Overhaul. Still, Regina simply chuckled as she glanced at Magne. "Do be careful, sister. These types of bad boys can lead you to a broken heart."
"Oh my! I do love some drama in my life!"
Overhaul only scoffed at those words.
However, Toga just glanced at Overhaul, needing clarification. "What makes him so different from us?" She asked, tilting her head.
"Ha! You're a youngster, so you probably don't know. In the past, there were a lot of scary underground groups that ran the underworld. But soon after the Quirks appeared and heroes started thriving, they were unmasked and disbanded. And once All Might appeared, well, that era of crime was essentially over."
Mr Compress stated, looking at Overhaul, who, again, hated to be reminded about something like that. And Mr Compress could feel the hatred coming out his way. Yet, he didn't stop. He found the entire thing amusing.
"And those who weren't caught became villains in reserve, at the bottom of the barrel. Mister Overhaul here is from an endangered species of ancient times. Obsolete and quite narrow-minded."
Overhaul clicked his teeth, incredibly annoyed. "I can't say you're wrong. But don't get it wrong. We are still criminals as well."
"Oh, you're also trying to get back into the spotlight now that All Might is on his way out?" Magne asked.
Overhaul then glanced at Shigaraki, glaring directly at his eyes. "No, it's less about All Might and more about the current state of affairs in the Pro-Hero world. I'm sure you're well aware of that."
Shigaraki scratched his neck, staring at Overhaul. "Yes..." Shigaraki whispered.
"However, there's something more," now it was Overhaul's turn to make the Villain League look unworthy of his presence. "And it's the defeat of All for One. The Emperor of Darkness, who ruled over all the underside of the society, was defeated in quite a pathetic manner, don't you think?"
Tomura growled now. "You think you could take one of the Primordials head-ons?" He challenged as Overhaul mocked him.
"It's not here or there. We used to treat All for One like an urban legend. A titan of itself. But after so many years without hearing from him, we all thought he was dead. But it seems he was very much alive... and way weaker than I thought. A disappointment truly."
Tomura glared at him. "And what are you waiting for? Uh? What are you here for?"
Overhaul sighed deeply. "Times are changing once again with All Might's light vanishing and All for One's darkness disappearing. There's no authority. Who knows what the Primordials are doing or what their goals are. The only thing I know is this... who will be the next leader of the darkness?"
Overhaul and Tomura glared at each other. Those words sounded like a challenge, a threat. "You know who my master is, and you're still saying that... of course, the next leader will be me!" Tomura declared, now his eyes glaring at Overhaul directly.
"Even now, I'm gathering my troops... our troops are increasing, and we will crumble the Hero Society with that power. However, you... Are you challenging me?" Tomura hissed, jumping down his dusty throne and slowly walking towards Overhaul, who scoffed at him.
"You kept saying about crushing the Hero Society... but that doesn't sound like a plan... do you even know how to achieve that? A plan...?"
Overhaul taunted, staying in Tomura's approach.
"A plan?" Tomura tilted his head, looking at him. Then, it dawned on Tomura what the Overhaul plan was. "You... you didn't come here to join us."
Twice now was a bit nervous, as he felt Tomura's glares at him. However, Overhaul still needed to be finished. He slowly walked towards Tomura, almost face to face.
"A goal with no plan is called a delusion," Overhaul stated. "If you present me with a delusion, how am I supposed to react?"
"Delusion...?" Tomura hissed angrily.
"Yes, delusion. How are you recruiting? Where are you finding new recruits? Where are your fonds? Who are your allies? What type of organisation are you trying to create? You haven't presented anything of that."
Lupusregina, or as her undercover name was, Regina, stared down, hearing Overhaul's words. She could sense behind Overhaul's comments, clearly showing a man planning each step carefully. Quite different from the chaotic energy that was Tomura and how he does things. Still, Regina smiled, knowing that behind those two fighting for control, another entity was playing them both. However, as Overhaul and Tomura's discussion continued, Regina noticed the tense atmosphere around them. She couldn't let them kill each other. They still have quite a work ahead of them, vital for Regina's lady. One of them dying now would be troublesome for her.
"I didn't come here today because I wanted to join you..." Overhaul stated, making Tomura hiss.
"Twice, next time you bring someone, make sure to know their intentions," Tomura replied to an anxious Twice.
"To execute my plan, I need a lot of money. And no one is willing to invest in some obsolete small-time Yakuza nowadays. But it'd be different if I had you guys with your increasing name and recognition under me. So, become my underlining, and I'll show you how well I can use you. And then I'll become the next leader."
Those words didn't make things better. Silence flooded the old rusty warehouse as Tomura seemed in a trance. He just stood there silently as the moonlight shone upon his face. "Leave," Tomura stated in a cold and dangerous voice.
Overhaul only stared at him, sighing deeply. "What a disappointment."
Suddenly, Magne pulled her giant magnet pillar, smiling evilly, as she used her Quirk to take Overhaul by surprise.
"Sorry, Yakuza boy, we didn't come together just to be under someone...! All of us decided to never be bound by anything! We will choose where we belong!"
Ah, what an idiot you're sister... Regina thought, not hiding her sadistic and amusing smile.
Overhaul's body was flying directly into Magne's magnet pillar, and she was ready to strike the Yakuza on his head, perhaps even trying to smash it on the ground. However, the Yakuza wasn't bothered by it, as he quickly pulled his gloves. And as soon, as Magne's attack came, Overhaul evaded that big metal thing. He was flexible enough to evade the brunt of the attack. Surprisingly, Magne hissed that she couldn't quite touch him. But that wasn't the same for Overhaul, who could touch her. Then, suddenly, her body exploded, to the shock of everyone.
Like a balloon of meat and blood. As if something burst from the inside out.
"Big sis Magne!" Toga exclaimed, shaken, at the sight of parts of Magne's body scattered around the place.
"You threw the first punch," Overhaul whispered, showing disgust at the blood all over him. "Argh! This is filthy...! I hate this!"
Mr Compress jumped immediately after seeing one of his friends being murdered in such a way. There was only one thing on his mind. However, Tomura did not want that. The risk was too big and dangerous for them.
"Wait, Compress!" Tomura yelled.
"This guy's trouble! I'll deal with him...!" Mr Compress was a hand reach from Overhaul, but soon enough, a red dart struck him on the shoulder. Like a Bee sting, it took him by surprise. But what really shocked Mr Compress was that his Quirk no longer worked. "What...?" Mr Compress whispered. As he was touching Overhaul's arm, nothing happened.
"Don't touch me!"
Overhaul let an animalistic growl as he was being touched by someone else. Soon enough, Mr Compress' arm blows up as Magne's body did.
"Arghhh!" He yelled as Regina arrived quickly, helping Mr Compress not to die. They already lost one.
"Regina...!" Toga yelled, as Regina was now between Mr Compres and Overhaul.
"Epha!" Regina pushed Mr Compress away before Overhaul touched him again, saving the masked villain's life. Nevertheless, the Yakuza leader grabbed Regina's arm and growled. Soon, everyone expected Regina's arm or body to explode, but nothing happened. Not truly. The red-haired girl did feel some pain but was quickly evaded by her stats, passive skills and items. Still, Regina was surprised as she could see the damage she was taking. Ah, that's quite painful. Lupusregina thought, frowning deeply. That experience was an excellent reminder to not let her guard down anymore. Some people could hurt her.
"What...?"
"[Restoration]" Lupusregina muttered slowly, as her body healed immediately.
Overhaul frowned, before jumping away, confused at why Regina's arm wasn't all over the place.
"Auch, that did sting," Regina joked as she waved her arm around, like it was numb or something, then stared at Overhaul with a severe face. "You're lucky. I am the way I am... otherwise, I would have lost an arm."
Tomura's anger slipped through as he took his turn to attack. However, again, a strange bullet appeared out of nowhere. But a certain red-haired girl smirked at the opportunity presented to them. Regina caught it before it touched Tomura, who was close to Overhaul.
"Tch...! Shield!" Out of nowhere, one of Overhaul's lackeys appeared, putting himself before Tomura, whose touch killed him immediately. Like an old statue of dirt, Overhaul's minion died. At that moment, Tomura and Overhaul realised that this little chat was beginning to be more. That's why both decided to move away from each other. As Overhaul's underlings came bursting through the wall.
"I see... you came here prepared," Tomura whispered, glaring at Overhaul. "If you had shown this before, I would have understood your intentions from the start."
"That was close...! Overhaul!"
The Yakuza leader sighed, glaring at Tomura. At the same time, the rest of the Shie Hassaikai approached him, forming a defence wall around him. "That girl... she blocked my shots."
Regina put herself in front of Tomura, as the Villain League was ready to attack, and they did have a reason to kill them all. However, a battle wasn't in Regina's interest nor theirs for that matter.
"We weren't being followed!" Twice screamed, as he couldn't help but feel guilty that Magne's death was his fault. "I... I thought that we were alone!"
"Perhaps a Quirk..." Tomura whispered.
"It's hard to make objective decisions like this... we must wait until heads are cool enough to speak again," Overhaul stated, trying to clean the blood out of his face. "Don't you think? It's unproductive to cut each other's forces now."
Tomura's eyes showed nothing but icy anger at the fact that Overhaul had the gall to speak like that. But, he did not reply to the Yakuza boss. He just stood there, watching.
"Let's talk some other time... once we are both calm... here, contact me when you want to speak with me. Think carefully about what you are going to do from now on... Tomura Shigaraki."
Overhaul departed but not before throwing a card for Tomura, who only took it with mild courtesy. He glared at them as they left, his eyes plotting something inside.
"Tomura, can I stab them...? I want to stab them," Toga whispered, like a crazy hyena, glaring at Overhauls' back.
"No... not yet," Tomura replied silently.
"Why...?! They killed big sister Magne!" Twice yelled. "Please let me take responsibility!"
"No," Tomura whispered again. "Not yet. Regina... how is Mr Compress."
Regina hummed as she was healing the poor masked man. "He'll live. However, his arm thought."
Regina could heal him entirely, bringing his arm back even. But she didn't want to. It wasn't necessary, nor something Lupusregina wished to expose, that she could heal and bring even cut limps back. So, for now, she was happy with just using basic healing skills and no more. All to keep a low profile and not show more of her powers, just like her lady wanted. Also, hearing the moans of pain made her quite excited. However, Lupusregina did find herself wishing she had stopped Magne from dying. She was a fun person to be around. A shame, Magne couldn't keep her anger and actions under control.
"My Quirk... didn't work..." Mr Compress moaned in pain.
Oh, so this red dark-bullet thing stopped his Quirk from working? Interesting. Regina thought, with intrigue.
"Tomura... I'll cut those guys..."
Tomura stared back at Toga. "Not yet... we are going to wait... we will have our payback. But for now... we wait."
Tomura whispered as he walked away, deciding to stroll in the forest. He needed some time alone.
Regina, for her part, smiled internally as she hid the red dark in her pocket. This is getting more interesting... my lady is going to be happy. She smiled, wondering what else was in store.
Galadriel smiled as she read the reports of her agents across the world. However, among all those reports, there was Lupusregina's report about the Villain League contacting the Yakuza group, Shie Hassaika and about the successful test of their new drug. That was great news, and Galadriel knew that Demiurge was having a field day with the sample, Lupusregina got for them.
So they finally did it. Nicely done, Shie Hassaika. Nicely done.
Still, one of the things Galadriel wanted to make sure of was the girl named Eri was on their side. And for that, she had sent a tiny fairy to assist the secluded girl in filling her head with positive things about her and the Nazarick family. It was a horrible and truly monstrous thing to do. Galadriel knew that. But, in doing so, many people's lives could be spared, and it would serve a great purpose.
Maybe, that was Galadrie lying to herself to make herself feel less guilty. But, at the very least, Galadriel would bring happiness to the small girl. Once they have Eri on their side, they'll make her feel happy, and that happiness will be repaid in the future by Eri's devotion.
It was a long-con type of scheme. But one that Galadriel feel necessary. Eri's Quirk was unique in more ways than people thought.
I... feel pretty disgusted with myself for doing this. Yet... I feel justified, or that's my demon side trying to make me feel less guilty? I don't even know anymore. Galadriel thought as she decided to simply forget about it. She'll do what she must. It was too late to stop this.
"At least, I'll treat her as if she were my own blood. That's the least I can do for her," Galadriel mumbled with mixed feelings.
"Did you say something, my lady?"
"Nothing, nothing at all."
Galadriel chuckled as she glanced back at the beautiful Pleiades maid, Yuri Alpha, massaging her back. Currently, Galadriel on her private room, wearing nothing but a bathrobe, not having a problem at all, showing a bit of skin, especially after a long and quite loud lustful activity with two of her beautiful Pleiades Maids who weren't genuinely wearing clothes either. One of them, Solution, was massaging Galadriel's feet, slowly caressing them, making Galadriel simply sigh in pleasure.
"Nothing, just enjoying the fact that our operations are bringing results," Galadriel smiled as she peered down to where Solution was doing masterful work to massage her legs, slowly going upwards towards her calf.
"It's been quite the troublesome weeks, my lady," Solution whispered huskily. "You need to rest."
"Oh, I'm going to rest. After all, this entire hero work-study thing is quite a waste of time for me," Galadriel hummed, remembering that she had to fill in some hours somewhere. "Well, nothing that a bit of nepotism can't fix. After all, I'll work for my "family" company during this period. It will certainly allow me to focus on other things."
"A bit of nepotism, huh?" Solution chuckled, slowly kissing her lady's shin. Galadriel only looked down and smiled, slowly raising her legs until her toes touched Solution's lips.
"Indeed," Galadriel smirked as Solution began to lick Galadriel's toes.
Yuri's back massage changed until the oldest of the Pleiades brought her hands down her lady's chest, slowly kissing and licking Galadriel's neck, making the white-haired demon shiver in pleasure.
"Our duty is to make you forget about work, relax, and enjoy your small break, my lady," Yuri whispered slowly, slowly exposing her naked body to her beloved master. "And we will... with everything we have."
Galadriel chuckled as she put the notes away. She would enjoy the pleasure of the flesh and use it to wash away all those unnecessaries concerns about her morality. "Mm, such dutiful servants I have."
Galadriel took both Solution and Yuri back to bed, smiling brightly. Many things were currently playing in the background, perhaps too much for someone to be in control. But Galadriel knew it was all being taken care of, especially a moving island that needed to be destroyed.
Melissa Shield, daughter of the famous David Shield, was currently frantically running. Her heart was pumping blood towards her entire body, and she couldn't stop until she reached the location she needed to go.
"Dad!" Melissa yelled as she entered the command room of I-Island. The place in charge of controlling where the moving island goes, among other things. David Shield, Melissa's father, carefully looked at the table, showing a holographic world map. He seemed incredibly perturbed, if not horrified.
"It can't be... it's impossible."
"Dad!" Melissa yelled, making David look at her, and the only thing the blond-haired girl could see was horror.
"Melissa... New Caledonia is gone."
Melissa gasped as she stared at the map, and it showed a real-time image of a giant mushroom cloud clouding where the island was supposed to be. They could also see sea a massive Tsunami moving fast towards the Indonesian Islands, swallowing everything in its path.
"Dad, we need to do something!" Melissa, implored by David, simply shook his head.
"We can't do anything... not now. We must wait until the Tsunami stops."
"But all those people...!"
David still couldn't reply. He just stared at the satellite images coming to him. "What kind of power did this..."
"David! We have some images coming through!" One of the scientists yelled from across the room. "They are before the explosion!"
"Before?" David asked, confused.
"Yes, it was uploaded by the Caledonia's News reporter crew before... it seems that they managed to get one of our S.O.S signals."
"Show it on screen."
David gulped as the scenes appeared on the big screen. There, David, Melissa and the other scientists stared at the pandemonium unfolding. The last minutes of the country.
"Hold the camera! Hold it!" A woman yelled, and for the looks of it. She was one of the New reporters.
"I'm doing the best I can't!" The cameraman yelled, clearly terrified. "The signals...! There aren't! Something is blocking the Network!"
"I'll fix it...! Just keep recording! I'll try to find a satellite sign!"
"What's that?! What is that thing?!" The cameraman yelled, horrified.
"Hold it...! There, look it!" The woman screamed as they saw the camera pointing towards the sky, where a large meteorite was forming out of nowhere. It was as if it was being pulled out of the space itself. David saw the large circle around it, and immediately the camera zoom-in on the person responsible for it.
"A Primordial...!" David whispered, stunned. Remembering the images from the incident in Japan, it was the same masked entity as before. Then, they saw how the creation of said meteorite was evolving into a larger one. Still, by doing so, parts of it began to fall into the island, hammering the ground and destroying parts of the city. The loud screams of help, by the civilians, the sirens of the police cars and ambulances. The living pandemonium occurring there was hard to see and hear.
"I have a signal...! I have a signal! It's uploading!" The woman yelled happily. However, that joy suddenly vanished as the sky began to darken. A sudden cracking sound was heard, loud and horrible. Like stones crashing with thunder. And bells, loud bells could be heard too.
"Yiyi! We need to run...! We have to leave!" The cameraman yelled as David and Melissa noticed the poor man's shaking hands. They began to lose focus of the Primordial.
"We can't... is it on? It is Live, right? The... people need to know what happened... the world needs to know... hopefully, someone will get it."
"Yiyi...!" The cameraman started sobbing as the large meteorite descended on them. "I don't want to die!"
Melissa's tears couldn't stop as she looked away. Like the rest, David stood there, watching an entire nation's last moment.
"This is Yiyi Mapou from New Caledonia's News... we are currently being attacked by one of the Primordials. The country lost signal to the internet, phone, or any network an hour ago. All ships couldn't leave... they were swallowed by something in the sea I don't know what it was, and all planes fell out of the sky like a large dome suddenly covered the entire nation. We don't know what happened to our Pro-heroes... or anyone. We... please... oh god..."
The camera began to lose focus as the giant meteorite began to get closer, yet, the news reporter woman didn't stop talking.
"It is July 24... 2168... tomorrow is my daughter's birthday... thankfully, she is in France, on vacation with her friends... if you're watching this... Cassy... I love yo-"
Then the transmission ended, letting everyone know what happened there. David simply looked away and hugged his daughter, who was sobbing in his arms.
"July 24... just four hours ago... how has nobody heard from this already?" David muttered. "Save the copy. We must let the people know what happened."
David understood that they needed to spread the news of what had taken place. However, the reality of what did happen was hard to accept, that an entire nation, a country was destroyed in a day. David just couldn't fathom how someone could wield so much power. It was ridiculous that one being could destroy an entire nation. But his eyes didn't lie. That just happened, and deep inside David, fear began to form.
"Melissa, I need you to go to Japan immediately."
"Uh?" Melissa looked at him with tears still lingering in her eyes. "W-why?"
"I need you to-"
Before David could finish his sentences, the entire I-Island began to shake as if they had hit something. Something was hitting the walls of I-Island, and some explosions were heard.
"What's going on?!" David yelled as the rest of the scientists began to move from one place to the next, trying to figure out what had happened.
"I don't know...!" One exclaimed, confused.
"The island... it's stuck on something. Hey! What's with the controls?!"
"Our Network...! David, our Network is down!"
"Wha... used the backup one...!"
"I'll try-!"
Then, everyone heard a loud screeching sound. Their eardrums tingled in pain at the sensation. It makes them feel disoriented. However, that wasn't the worst part. Soon, the sun's light disappeared as if something was sucking it, swallowing it all, leaving no trace of sunshine left to see. Then from the bridge of I-Island, they all saw it flying high above. A dark figure with long black wings and a mask. Surrounded by strange circles, and holding a strange staff. Soon, that figure began to gather some type of dark energy in its hand.
"That's...?!"
"Dad, that mask...!"
"Yes, a Primordial..." David whispered as the figure held a dark sphere in her hand before aiming it at the island. Soon, that small sphere became a beam of darkness and light. A laser made out of the deepest darkness in hell. Destroying chunks of the city like it was cutting through butter.
The sheer power of that attack could demolish entire building blocks and cause more chaos than a simple explosion would. Each building, each street, everything was built for a purpose and to see it destroyed like nothing, was so hard to accept. David just stood there, looking at the destruction of his island. But couldn't do anything about it.
"We built this place... to be stronger than a bomb shelter, sturdy and capable of surviving anything... and yet, this being is destroying as if it was a sand castle..." David simply muttered, appaled.
"This is a dream... no, this is a nightmare."
"Dad!" Melissa yelled, snapping her father out of his mind. "We need to go!"
David just stood there before nodding. "Y-yes, you're right... sound the alarm, prepare the evacuation!"
"We don't have access to our network or satellites!" One scientist yelled, panic written all over his face.
"Use the old stuff...! Morse code! Send a signal to any ship nearby! NOW!"
David yelled as the alarm sounded all over the I-Island. All the inhabitants and scientists, with their families, began moving quickly. He moved quickly to his computer and could save the recordings and what took place in New Caledonia there before Melissa, and he took off.
"Dad...?!"
"Quickly to the airport!"
David and Melissa soon arrived at one of the edges of the I-Island, the only entrance and exit of this moving island. It was filled with entire families, all looking for a way out. The security guards were overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in one place as they all wanted to take an emergency plane, but they were already destroyed. Everyone could see it all, demolished burn to the ground. There was no escape for them.
"What's happening?!" David yelled as one of the guards saw him.
"David, sir! The planes...! They are destroyed!"
"What..?!" David then recalled the sound they had heard not too long ago. "They planned this..."
David muttered as soon as a colossal blast destroyed one of the island's barriers. Soon, all the seawater began to make its way in, it was clear that it was part of their plan to sink the island, with everyone on board. The destruction of the island wasn't stopping any time soon, and the more time they waste looked around the more people die. David could see the fire even from the airport, and the creams and the cracking sound of the steel slowly going under. Still, David could only think of his old friend and colleague. All Might... Toshinori, what would you have done?! David could only whisper in his mind, as he could only witness the chaos around him.
It's fine now. Why? Because I am here! David could almost his him smiling before him. And it was all David needed before snapping back to reality.
"Tch! Hurry to the edges. There are emergency boats! Now!" David yelled, and quickly the people followed his instruction.
"Children first...!" One guard yelled.
"There aren't enough boats for us!" One civilian yelled.
"I don't want to die...!"
"Mama! Papa, where are you?!"
Everyone was slowly losing their collective minds. It didn't help that the sound of explosions and destruction was loud and strong enough to shake the ground. But the hears of screams and the fact that some people didn't make it this far was slowly eating them alive.
Another last explosion was heard, this time closer, and it was then that David decided to take charge.
"Listen to me! Yes, there are enough boats!" David yelled as he could only look at the chaos unfolding before him. "I designed them! I know how many people can fit, don't worry! All, with me...! Follow me, the boats are down, and there's a safety net for you to jump! It's going to be alright!"
David's words seemed to have brought a sense of hope, but that was soon evaporated by Melissa's stares. It was a simple shock, as if she believed everything was a dream. A horrible nightmare that she would quickly awake from. However, that wasn't the case. David looked up at the sky and saw the dark clouds splitting in two, almost moving out of the way. Allowing a burning yellow eye to glare down. Like a God would to an ant.
David stood next to Melissa, wondering if what they were watching was an illusion. It had to be. It better be.
However, that eye soon morphs into a lance. A colossal lance made out of fire and darkness. The bells could be heard across the entire island as if the announcement was that judgement had arrived. David only snapped as he yelled at Melissa.
"On the boat! Now! Everyone!"
Those were David's last words until everything turned black.
The sound of sea and boats crashing into each other was enough to wake Melissa, who began coughing hard as the seawater made it difficult to open her eyes. Slowly, the blond-haired woman began to look clearly, and panic when she realised what had happened. All around Melissa were boats filled with people, families, and scientists who managed to evacuate.
"Dad...? Dad?!" Melissa yelled frantically.
One scream among many who were also looking for their lost relatives. Melissa's heart began to shrink as the horrible idea of her father's demise began to form inside her head. But thankfully, that wasn't the case.
"Melissa!" David yelled from another boat.
"Dad!" Melissa's tears appeared once again. David began to use the emergency motor of his boat to approach his daughter. Then, when he did, Melissa jumped towards him, hugging him tightly.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" David asked softly as Melissa sobbed on his shoulder.
"N-no, I'm fine..." Melissa then looked at her father's legs. "Dad..."
"Ah... I just broke it, nothing terrible. I jumped from the edge of the airport runway to the last boat... and I landed quite roughly. I bandaged it, so don't worry."
Melissa nodded as she stared at the horizon and saw I-Island, split in half, burning, and slowly descending into the sea's most profound darkness.
"Dad... the island... ho-how many people...?"
David couldn't answer and perhaps didn't even want to know. "There are at a hundred boats... but 10,000 people lived on that island. And yet, I don't see half floating with us..."
Melissa just couldn't fathom so much death in such a horrible act. "Why...? Why would the Primordials attack us?"
David couldn't answer. "I don't know... Melissa. I don't know."
Melissa looked at the sinking island and sighed deeply. That was until they heard someone yelling.
"Ships! Ships!"
One yelled, and soon, Melissa and David saw large ships approaching them. However, David frowned, wondering how they could reach them so fast and why do they looked quite militaristic. Maybe there were near us? From which nation do they belong to? David wondered deeply. But soon, he did notice something odd on those ships. The insignia of those ships was one he knew.
"Those are... the Nazarick family's logo..."
"The Nazarick family?" Melissa whispered, watching the ships quickly save those stranded on the sea.
Soon as David and Melissa boarded one of the ships, they were met with a strangely cute girl who seemed quite robotic.
"David and Melissa Shield. My name is CZ2128 Delta. Welcome. You're being saved. Don't resist."
Melisa and David looked confused at the small girl. They were saved, no doubt, from lingering on the open sea. However, were they safe? That has yet to be answered.
