After the mess in the wilderness had finished, Momonga felt safe enough to announce, "Alright everyone! We're going to continue our journey!"
They had ended up sheltering themselves in a nearby farming village which was overseen by angels. They managed to explain to the farmers that they were tired and needed to rest for a few hours before continuing the journey, and since the farmers were protected by the angels, they were confident in their strength and allowed them to stay for a while.
Luckily for them, the angels weren't hostile to them because, as the human farmers said, they only attacked when something else attacked first.
Momonga guessed that was just the way whoever summoned the angels had them set, because he imagined that it would be troublesome if their summons attacked anyone they shouldn't have.
Touch Me finished up his conversation with Flatfoot, moving nearer to Momonga, "Ah, so they're safe now?"
"Yes, the situation there has stabilized, Nubo told me that we're safe to go again," Momonga confirmed.
Flatfoot clapped, "Man! Finally! I've been waiting for this!"
Nishikienrai was woken up from his nap by the announcement, and he groggily contributed to the conversation, "Man, the ground was so nice…"
Mare, who had specifically made the ground more soft for Nishikienrai, proudly glowed with the indirect praise.
Bakuita laughed, picking up Nishikienrai off the ground with his gorilla arm, "C'mon, buddy. You can't sleep like a skeleton just yet."
Nishikienrai sighed, "Yeah, yeah. I'm ready."
Pandora's Actor and Liberta finished up their conversations about the meaning of life or something equally abstract, and stood to attention, ready for action.
Denshosho hummed, "Well, here's to a good information gathering campaign!"
Nearta raised a mimed glass, "Here to!"
Momonga chuckled, "Here to! Anyways, I'll deal with the farmers, and you guys can head on, I can just fly to catch up, alright?"
And so, they headed onwards to the capital of Re-Estisize.
The journey wasn't very interesting aside from the fact that it took a while due to Punitto's paranoia of gate countermeasures. Not to mention that Nazarick will need quite the large menagerie to keep all of the various plants and animals that the group picked up along the way, fascinated with life they've never seen before.
Well, if Momonga recalled correctly, a lot of the animals were the same from Earth for some reason before the massive extinction event. But since those animals went extinct before anyone ever could see one alive, they were basically like alien life.
Denshosho shot a random theory into the wild, saying that there's a possibility that extinct species back on Earth might've reincarnated onto here, but that was a bit too far out, even for Momonga who had a few conspiracy theories he believed in.
Though, Momonga did get the rather childish dream of making dragons extinct here so that the dragons would reincarnate on Earth. However, Momonga kept his world item at Nazarick to keep it safe, so he wouldn't have an easy way to kill dragons if they were to show up now.
Anyhow, they had made it to the gates of Re-Estisize city, and there stood yet another 4th tier angel.
They could realistically just ignore it and the angel wouldn't do anything because it physically couldn't harm them. But they weren't sure if there was a Seraphim member inside of the city, so Momonga called Nubo to ensure that nobody could create a problem inside of the city.
Momonga messaged Nubo, "Nubo, can you check this city for anyone strong in it? Or any traps?"
Nubo came in a moment later with an affirmation, as he began to scour the city.
While he did so, Denshosho offhandedly asked everyone, "Hey, so Punitto already allowed for us to split up, right? Can we go to the castle?"
Nishikienrai quickly raised his hand, beating his fellow rogue, Flatfoot.
"Sweet, Nishiki, you're with me," Denshosho said.
"I don't think walking straight into a castle is a good idea, Denshosho," Touch unhelpfully pointed out.
"That's why I'm taking the rogue with me, obviously."
"Oh."
Nubo came back with some news, "Alright, so some good news and bad news. Which one do you guys want?"
"Bad news first, please," Momonga requested.
Nubo gave his results with a slightly worried tone, "Alright, so the bad news is that there are invisible alarm traps on the front gate, just lower tier ones, and I can also sense a tier 10 anti divination countermeasure from someone in the castle, so that's definitely a player."
Denshosho and Nishikienrai slumped in defeat at the notion of no longer being able to break into a cool castle.
Nubo's voice then turned upbeat as he gave the good news, "On the brighter side, though, I asked Vaggy for her input and she figured out, and don't ask me how she knows this, that player is currently having sex. With a harem. So he's probably not going to do anything for a while, meaning you can probably get away with sneaking into the city from across the walls and exploring for a while."
Momonga really wanted to know how Vagisilious somehow got past a 10th tier anti-divination countermeasure to figure out that whoever's in that castle was currently indulging in the sins of the flesh, but on the other hand…
He really didn't.
Momonga nodded, "Thank you, Nubo. Send Vaggy our thanks."
Nubo finished the call, going back to looking over the city passively, and Momonga turned to the group, "Alright, as long as we stay careful and message each other periodically, we should be able to get some information out of the citizens here. So, let's go in groups of two- No, three, just to be safe. So, let's group up. Liberta, you're only level 80, so you'll stay with Touch, whichever group he ends up in."
The groups ended up with Momonga, Touch, Pandora, and Liberta going around to check the moods of the citizens around any stores they could find. Seeing if anyone was actually discontent with Seraphim rule.
Nishikienrai, Denshosho, and Nearata would go around random stores looking for anything that looked exotic and not from Yggdrasil. Since they didn't have any of the local currency, Nishikienrai would be stealing while Denshosho and Nearata distracted the store owners.
Lastly, Bakuita, Flatfoot, and Mare would be sticking around the walls of Re-Estisize city, ensuring that if Seraphim showed up, they would provide an escape route outside by causing a distraction and blowing up any would be-barrier.
With their plan set, Momonga took out a portable ladder from his inventory that he kept if he was being ultra-paranoid about fly detection spells, of which today is a good day to be ultra paranoid. Then, they all scaled the walls, strangely devoid of any guards, and began to explore the city.
A little piece of Deltarune's soul tingled in the back of her head.
She does a bit more soul searching, and she figures out that someone had set off an invisible negative karma alarm trap nearby. Of those she could sense, there were about 9 heteromorphic monsters entering the city. But they weren't causing any damage, so it was likely they were trying to keep a low profile.
So, they weren't going to be a problem. She would just have to notify the Lords of Seraphim after she disposed of them.
Deltarune set down her cup of tea as Adam continued to ramble on and on about his day.
Adam, one of her fellow virtues of Kami No Toshokan, currently wearing his full Exterminator set that made him look an angelic demon, which just so happened to be the same set his creator wears, was reminiscing about a battle that happened 6 years ago, "So I told Pendragon that if he wanted to tell me what to do on the battlefield maybe he can suck my dick and I'll actually consider all of the shit he's talking about! And then the bastard says that he has authority over me! No way, dumbass! I'm literally the copy of Lord Adao! I am THE Adao with a new name! That dumbass thinks he can command me?! So anyways after the battle, I saw one of these human girls that Pendragon was fond of and then I ended up killing her and reviving her and killing her all the way until level 1 and Pendragon lost his shit when he found out! It was fucking hilarious! You should've seen it, Kris!"
Deltarune tilted her head, only halfway listening to the words, "Are you finished, Adam?"
Adam shook his head, "Nope! Anyways, like I said, Pendragon lost his shit and dragged Lord Mustapha Mond into this and you know what he said?!" Adam cleared his throat and spoke in an overly posh accent reminiscent of how Lord Mustapha Mond spoke, "'Pendragon, you shouldn't be interacting with those humans like that. Adam, you are dismissed because you're awesome, Pendragon, stay here for a moment.'" Adam loudly laughed, "That was fucking HILARIOUS!"
"Now are you done?"
"Yeah, it wasn't that funny anyways," Adam casually dismissed, "So, you wanted to say something?"
"There are some monsters coming our way," Deltarune said, sipping on her tea before continuing, "I will be dealing with it."
Adam raised an eyebrow, then he pointed out an easy solution, "Literally just send one of our angels their way. By the way, hi Delty."
"They are of considerable strength," Deltarune insisted, ignoring Adam's nickname for her, "I will be activating the world item at my disposal to make the cleanup easier."
Adam put his hands on his cheeks and made fun of her by making himself look amazed, "Ooh, wow, you're going to make a 5 second activity into a 3 second activity, that's so significant!"
Then Adam dropped the act and scoffed, "Yeah yeah, go ahead. I'll tell Lord Teikoku Shugisha about it. But honestly, I'm gonna go get my dick wet somewhere, so you can just tell him yourself when you get back."
"Lord Teikoku Shugisha is still in the castle, correct?" Deltarune asked, though she knew the answer and just wanted to double check.
Adam nodded, "Yep. Wanna have sex after?"
"No." Deltarune was physically incapable of it. Adam was fully aware of this, but he kept asking anyway because Lord Adao kept asking anyway, also fully aware of this.
"Your loss, bitch," Adam shrugged it off before getting up to leave.
Deltarune got up from her chair and took the entire table with her by placing it into her inventory.
Then, she jumped out of the window outside, unfurling her wings and flying with an invisibility spell on her, formulating a plan to annihilate these outsiders without alerting them that they had fallen into a boiling pot.
Because Momonga and Touch hadn't talked one on one for a long time, and their other two members in their team were the NPCs, Momonga told Pandora's Actor (Who was disguised as Liberta Prime for reasons Momonga probably knew, but didn't want to ask without sounding a bit lost, especially in the presence of two of the smarter NPCs in the tomb.) to go start talking to people while the two players watched.
Well, Momonga had just wanted to catch up more with Touch, since their one-on-one conversations were sparse ever since coming into the new world.
As Pandora's Actor and Liberta Penultimate went to talk to an old man, Momonga turned to Touch, "So, your family is all right, right?"
Touch nodded, accepting the small lull in duty, "Yeah. They're still a bit confused with everything, and my wife is sort of pissed that I'm out here instead of in there, so I'm hoping that I get back to Nazarick tonight. If that's all right, of course."
"Oh! Of course! You're free to go back to Nazarick any time you want!" Momonga easily offered, not seeing anything wrong with letting a man see his family more. Especially considering it hasn't even been a week since the transfer.
Hopefully, by the end of the week, Ainz Ooal Gown will have a solid understanding of what Seraphim has been doing since they've arrived, and will then be able to make a good deal with them that benefits both parties.
Then, Touch advanced the subject, "By the way, how are you holding up with being a skeleton now? My insect body is similar enough to a human, so I've been fine. But you literally can't eat anymore…"
Momonga sighed, "Yeah, it kinda sucks not being able to eat, or have flesh. My emotional suppressor is probably the worst, though…"
Touch chuckled, as that was his default response to something he wasn't sure how to respond to, "Well, I'm sure that Seraphim still has that race changing world item…"
It's come up a few times in conversations in Nazarick since Momonga reminded them of Seraphim's leak. While everyone had some sort of mystical natural connection to their new body that easily allowed them to get used to their new selves quickly, there were still people eager to become human again.
Of course, nobody actually knew how the Seeds of Yggdrasil worked, the leaker didn't seem very receptive on giving any more elaboration on how their world items worked aside from their descriptions. At worst, it would only be a temporary change, but even that would be preferable to their heteromorphic forms.
Momonga scratched his head, "Well, of course. But what if Seraphim is still slightly bitter about the past?"
Touch tilted his head, questioning, "Why would Seraphim be mad about a game? You're just being paranoid."
"Maybe you're right," Momonga conceded, looking back at the progress Pandora and Liberta were making.
…Eh? Why were they still on the same person?
Tuning into the conversation, it seemed as though Pandora and Liberta were basically grilling the poor man for every thought inside his head. In Momonga's opinion, that was a great way to make people dislike them, which was obviously not good considering they're just trying to figure out how people feel about their new rulers.
Momonga quickly intervened in the situation, putting his hands on the NPCs' shoulders to drag them back and apologizing to the poor man, "I'm sorry, sir. My friends here get quite excited whenever they end up somewhere new…"
The man seemed to have aged 10 years since he began speaking to the two, as he tiredly shook his head politely, "No, no, it's fine. Ah… I'm going home, though."
As the man went on to continue his life, Momonga lightly chastised the two NPCs, "We're trying to keep ourselves subtle. We're lucky that man didn't cause a huge scene. But since you did get lucky, inform us what you got out of that conversation."
Momonga then moved everyone to a nearby alleyway wide enough to keep them in, and used [Hide Conversation] to block anyone from hearing in.
Liberta looked somewhat ashamed as Momonga pointed out their mistakes, before starting to speak on what they learned, "Seraphim is widely liked in his community. They've made living very easy, and the king is seen as a relic of the past. There are rumors that the king is actually being removed sometime in this year."
Pandora's Actor then elaborated on all of the miscellaneous things they've discovered, "Speaking of the past, it seems as though Seraphim has blocked out everything from the outside world! My good sir couldn't name a heteromorphic race, but still categorized them all as evil!"
Liberta nodded, "I asked them about what they think of the two neighboring countries, Argland and the Dragon Kingdom, and he said that he thinks that Argland eats human babies, and the Dragon Kingdom is filled with heretics who hate angels."
Pandora's Actor snapped his fingers as he moved onto the next subject, "Not to mention, Seraphim changed their days into four parts, and everyone is assigned to one part, ensuring that everyone works all day!"
Liberta nodded, "Additionally, there are quite a number of public luxuries available for very little money. Picture books are more common now than ever before, though they are heavily monitored by Seraphim. The theater scene is also being sponsored by Seraphim."
"Yes! We were also made aware of the fact that the two of the four kingdoms that make up the Holy Kingdom, Roble and Slane, were shut off from the rest of the kingdom so that no one could enter or leave!" Pandora's Actor said, wildly gesturing to make his point.
Liberta elaborated on his point, "Additionally, Roble's name was changed to London, and he heard that Slane was in the middle of having its name changed to something new as well."
Then, Liberta and Pandora's Actor bowed and said in unison, "That concludes our report!"
Well, it seemed as though letting their NPCs enjoy themselves was the objectively correct decision, because Momonga wouldn't have dug so deep and in so many different directions in their shoes. If the goal was just gathering information, maybe he would've, but not when his agreed orders were to just get the feel of how the people feel about Seraphim.
But the NPCs were very good opportunity takers, and that's something that should be praised.
"Well done, you two," Momonga honestly praised, before giving them some advice, "If you have the choice to either ignore the rules and take opportunities like this, or to keep with the rules and never take chances with your opportunities, never forget that rules can predict what happens on the field, and that it's sometimes worth it to take risks like today."
Liberta and Pandora's Actor glowed as they ingrained the advice into their souls to remember forever.
Touch then began talking about the new info, "Huh, why would Seraphim spread rumors like that about the other countries?"
Momonga shrugged, "Maybe they're opposed to Seraphim?"
Touch rejected Momonga's suggestion, "If they were opposed to Seraphim, I don't think they would exist."
"Ah, you're right," Momonga agreed, "Then maybe Seraphim has some sort of other goal they're trying to achieve? Something that would connect why they renamed Roble into London?"
Touch thought about it for a few moments, before coming up with a theory, "Maybe they're trying to recreate this world in their own image?"
Well, that was something Momonga didn't expect to hear from Touch.
"What makes you say that?" Momonga asked.
Touch shrugged, "My superiors always complained that it was the corporations who decided the future instead of the government. Maybe Seraphim wanted to be that future."
Ah, that does make sense. In the fears of avoiding the tyranny of the old world, they aspired to be the kings of the new world. Likely with some sort of vow to never become what Earth turned into.
Yes, that was likely the most reasonable expectation. Though…
"Why London?" Momonga asked the obvious hanging thread in the room.
Touch shrugged, "I have absolutely no idea."
Momonga hummed, "Well, then let's go try and see if anyone around here knows the answer to that particular question. While we're at it, we can double check to see if anyone actually dislikes Seraphim being the leader now."
And so, they left the alley and continued being blissfully unaware.
"Man, all of these things are pretty normal…" Nishikienrai commented as he peered through another window.
This one was a doll shop, but according to Denshosho, none of them were any special, in effect or quality.
The last 12 stores they've browsed through were no different. The most interesting thing they've seen was a closed store that, according to somebody Nearata asked on the street, used to be a potion store before the adventurers were run out of business by Seraphim.
Apparently, it belongs to a fur store now, but all of the furs were out of stock at the moment, so it was closed for now.
Denshosho threw his own two cents in, "It is kind of weird that everything here is so… How do I put it? Native?"
Nearata tilted his head in confusion, "What do you mean native? We're literally in a foreign country in a foreign world…"
Denshosho shook his head, "No, no, you're not following me. Seraphim rules this country, right? And according to what we've heard, it's been 8 years since they've taken over. Do you know how long 8 years is? That's enough time to, at the very least, get some cultural changes to shift towards Seraphim's Japanese side. But for some reason, everything we've seen and heard so far is so distinctly not Japanese that it feels deliberate."
Nishikienrai wasn't following the line of logic, "So that just means that Seraphim respects the native culture?"
"They renamed a whole section of their kingdom to London," Denshosho pointed out, then questioning, "Why not a Japanese name if they're going to rename their capital? Do they not love Japan that much, despite being an entirely Japanese guild?"
Nishikienrai shrugged, "I mean, Japan was pretty bad…"
"Europe wasn't that much better," Denshosho stated the obvious, "They've had like, 7 wars since the corporate era began. So why does Europe get special naming rights compared to Japan, or even just America?"
Nearata seemed to somewhat get it, and then threw his hat in the ring, "Maybe they're trying to split up the country into separate parts, and then try to work on them one part each?"
Denshosho shook his head, "Most policies can be done nation-wide without any issues. If they were trying to do it one part each, they would be wasting a lot of time and not doing anything efficiently."
"Unless?" Nishikienrai threw out, trying to understand what was being said in the conversation.
"Unless…" Denshosho thought about it for a few moments, "Unless they're trying to completely revolutionize the way these people are living."
Nishikienrai hummed, "Well, I don't even know how to make a fire, do you think Seraphim has any idea how to make the modern age happen here?"
Denshosho shrugged, "It's possible, we don't know the real lives of Seraphim members. But I think I should just send our theory to Punitto for now…"
Denshosho's message was blocked.
Before he could react, light fell on them all.
After talking to a few more people, all they've learnt so far was that Seraphim was god's gift to the world, and nobody had any issues with them.
To be honest, Momonga did hope to find a single dissenter, as nothing in the world was perfect. But perhaps Seraphim themselves will have negative opinions on their own rule.
Well, they were finished with gathering the opinion of the people so Momonga said, "Well, I'll forward our ideas to Punitto now so he can give us another opinion on it…"
As he went to message Punitto-
His message spell was blocked.
Momonga's paranoia immediately kicked back into life as he quickly commanded, "Message is blocked! Touch, find the other three now! Liberta, go with Pandora's Actor to find the Bakuita's group and tell them to cause a distraction! I'll get out of the city to contact Nazarick!"
Touch was shocked for just a moment before the instincts of being a police officer kicked in and Touch quickly ran to fulfill his duty.
Pandora's Actor quickly saluted and then casted swiftness and flight spells for both NPCs and they left the area.
Momonga tried to use a teleportation spell, but found that it was blocked too. So, instead he flew up into the sky, found the nearest wall, and quickly left in that direction, hoping that he didn't discover the block too late.
Nishikienrai's beyond limits agility was absolutely crucial to avoiding that maxed out 10th tier holy damaging spell that just befell on all of them, as Nishikienrai successfully pushed everyone out of the way.
Thankfully, the spell itself was quickly dissipated when it landed, causing no damage to the street aside from anyone in the area being temporarily blinded.
Nishikienrai quickly pulled out his two daggers and shouted out to the attacker, "Who are you?!"
The attacker was some sort of angel, with pale skin and white hair with a bob hairstyle covering one eye. She only had one pair of lightforged wings, which tipped off to them that this was a golem-type enemy.
Her armor was clearly custom made as Nishikienrai didn't recognize the set from any recent tier, but it was an all-white plate set, with the main piece of the breastplate being oddly sized with a winged symbol on its front.
The woman landed on the ground gently and stared at the group, then she plainly stated, "You dodged."
Denshosho had gotten up and recovered, taking out his weapons, "Yeah we did! Nishiki, are we running or fighting?"
Nearata made his own opinion clear, already casting buffs on the group, "It's a three versus one, with two supports on our side. We win this easily."
Nishikienrai took the two's words into consideration while he asked the attacker, "What's your name?"
"Deltarune," she plainly replied, then asking, "And who are you?"
Nishikienrai and the others all immediately figured out that this was likely a Seraphim NPC. So, they were definitely going to be made fun of when they told everyone else that they got caught on the first day.
But because it was a Seraphim NPC, it bled some of the tension out of them as Nishikienrai offered peace, "Oh, we're from Ainz Ooal Gown. Can we, uh, put a pin on this? Tell your masters we're here and we'll tell our side that-"
"No."
"Wha-" Nishikienrai barely got out before Deltarune attacked.
Deltarune's choice of weapon was a spear, despite having used a 10th tier spell. So they deduced that Deltarune was likely a hybrid build. Being a lightforged golem as well, the group figured that it was likely a build focused on defeating negative karma opponents, which all three of them surely were.
But that should've been fine, because most players couldn't even win an equally geared 1v2, let alone a 1v3. An NPC might have an edge in combat, but against Nishikienrai being pocket healed by two healers? It should've been easy.
It should've been.
The symbol on Deltarune's breastplate glowed with light, and they all suddenly felt much weaker and… Poisoned?
Nishikienrai felt much slower, and he was caught by surprise when Deltarune zoomed past him, heading directly towards Denshosho.
Denshosho had the opportunity to widen his eyes in shock before getting stabbed by her spear.
Deltarune intoned, "[Holy Infusion], [Thousand Strikes], [Weight of Sin]."
Denshosho was blasted apart by light, killing him immediately because of his lack of defense.
"Denshosho!" Nearata shouted in total shock, not believing his eyes.
His hesitation cost him when Deltarune blinked over to him, doing the exact same combination of skills.
Nearata, being a jellyfish-type heteromorph, splattered over the street, his "core" dropping to the floor dead.
In the span of just a few short seconds two of his friends were taken down by Deltarune as if they were all flies. And Nishikienrai finally figured out what was so unnerving about Deltarune when they first saw her.
Deltarune was a caloric golem.
Caloric Stones were a world item back in Yggdrasil, which you could obtain if you gathered a bunch of prismatic ore and put them next to each other for a few days. Every expansion added a new prismatic ore to the game, which could only be found in a specific mine.
Caloric Stones were essentially an open secret among top guilds who held prismatic mines. And because of how, in comparison to other world items, common they were to get, the developers were very stingy on what caloric stones could do.
The most common way Caloric Stones were used was to just put unique effects onto other items. For example, heteromorphs really loved the trinket that allowed you to get extra base attributes for basically free, but because it was a 2nd expansion ring, the stats on it weren't worth the attributes. But with Caloric Stones, you could get that effect on a level 100 ring, and have 2 effects in one trinket.
Of course, because Caloric Stones were an ore, you could make golems out of them.
There were 2 types of golems back in Yggdrasil. Though they were never given 'official' names by the developers, so the community dubbed the two types "Build" golems and "Trap" golems.
Trap golems are the ones that didn't cost any base levels to create, and they act strictly to the coding given to them by the players who built them. This was the type of golem Luci*Fer loved, because Luci*Fer is just that kind of guy.
Build golems, on the other hand, were just another race in Yggdrasil. Nishikienrai was a half-golem, choosing to be a golem as his original race, but built up from there with more organic races, thus being a 'half' golem.
But NPC golems were slightly different.
Because NPCs could be created with their entire build unlocked from the moment they start existing, the developers decided it would be cool if NPC golems could have special types in accordance to the ore you gave the NPC. For example, if you take the level 82 ore called Saronite and give it to a golem NPC while it's being created, the starting race becomes a Saronite Golem, and they get bonuses to eldritch infused spells and skills.
However, where they really shined was the fact that they're considered heteromorphic races, and could take on 3 extra racial classes to make them great generalists, or deadly specialists with high base attribute totals.
Now, what did the developers, in their infinite wisdom, give caloric golems as their signature ability?
A 50% increase in all of their stats.
Back then, it was fairly balanced because NPCs couldn't leave the base, and a 50% increase in stats along with the defense modifier that happens when invaders enter a guild base wasn't enough to stop the sheer DPS of 13 or so players all focused on a target.
But this was no longer Yggdrasil, and NPCs could leave the base.
And Nishikienrai's group of 3 had absolutely no chance against an opponent that would require at least 10 players to kill in an absolutely worst case scenario.
And considering Deltarune's build clearly being made to kill negative karma individuals like most of Ainz Ooal Gown, it could be reasonably said that Deltarune could take on half of Nazarick and not have a 0% chance of losing.
As Nishikienrai is powerless to stop Deltarune from nuking his glass cannon build, he thinks of the one person in this city with the power to stop Deltarune in her tracks.
Most builds have a weakness, and Nishikienrai knows someone who could take full advantage of that.
"Kick her ass, Touch…"
Nishikienrai met the same fate as his comrades.
Deltarune was mildly surprised that her fellow golem didn't fight back at all. At the very least, the goblin and the odd jelly specter creature tried to cast a spell on her, if a bit too late for the effect to kick into action.
But the half-golem? Completely accepted his fate.
Deltarune sighed. The specter may have died messily, but the other two were quite clean in their deaths. Even though they were both missing the majority of their bodies.
She should probably get someone to take these bodies to Lord Mustapha Mond. After all, he is the one who requested that if they found any equally leveled opponent, kill first and ask questions later.
Deltarune briefly checks to see if the corpses were fine for revival, and she can confirm that they were. That's good, she would hate to disobey her master and prevent him from being able to ask questions to these intruders.
Just as she was about to message Adam to send some angels her way to pick up the corpses, someone speaks to her from behind.
"Hey," Touch coldly greeted the murderer of three of his friends.
Nishikienrai has been with Nine's Own Goal since the start, and Nearata and Denshosho were also valued friends in Ainz Ooal Gown.
And now, all he can see is their lifeless bodies, splayed out on the floor as if they weren't important.
It really pissed him off.
The Criminal blinked, "You are… Good. Please do not interfere with Seraphim's orders. It would be a shame for you to die."
Ah, so she's an NPC, of course she is. Touch couldn't imagine anyone who would willingly kill so casually like that.
Even worse, Seraphim is the one ordering this.
"I'm going to give you a choice," Touch was, after all, a good man, "Leave, or die."
She raised an eyebrow, "That is the opposite of good, but I sense no darkness within you. How odd. How about we start with names? My name is Deltarune, what is yours?"
It really wasn't surprising to him that she was choosing death.
With no fanfare at all, he pulled out his sword and shield and went into battle to save his friends.
Deltarune was caught by surprise as Touch slammed his sword into her side, knocking her away as she caught herself in the air with her wings.
Brandishing her spear, Deltarune activated the strange rune on her breastplate.
But it did nothing.
Touch wasn't sure what that was supposed to be, but he did have a low level inspection spell because of his paladin tree, so he decided to figure out what it was.
The spell focused on the breastplate and…
…Ah.
It was a world item. That was the only thing he found out about it.
If Touch had to guess, considering the world item did nothing to him just now along with its name, the breastplate probably worked by doing something to individuals with evil karma.
But Touch had a fully positive karma bar.
Considering the case, it does make sense that three, albeit on the lower ends of the spectrum, evil players could lose to someone with a world item specifically made to counter those players.
Deltarune wasn't surprised by the lack of response from her breastplate, so she lunged at Touch with another skill, "[Swift Strike]!"
Parrying the quick jab of the spear, Touch shouted out, "[Shield Bash]!"
Hitting Deltarune directly in the head, causing her to be stunned for 2 seconds, Touch then used, "[Heavenly Cut]!"
His blade was infused with light, and Touch cut into Deltarune's throat, causing her to jump back.
But in the end, it didn't do much damage. As expected from a Seraphim NPC.
So, half of his build was basically invalid. That's a shame.
Fortunately, this was why his paladin was his side-build instead of his main build.
As Deltarune seemed to be reassessing the situation, Touch quickly gathered the bodies of his dead comrades on his back, getting ready to escape.
While he would love to kill Deltarune, it's obvious to him now that if he spent too much time here, the more uncertain the fates of his friends will be.
Instead, Touch will have to put a pin on this situation for later.
"I'm afraid…" Touch's plans were immediately foiled as Deltarune conjured a light barrier around them, "I cannot let you leave with them."
Touch sighed, then, gently, he laid the bodies down next to the walls of the barrier, "Stay here. I'll make sure you guys don't get desecrated."
Desecration in Yggdrasil meant that you could no longer be revived with that body. This usually only happened if the overkill damage was over 30% of your maximum health, or you've been recently revived.
In this new world, he didn't want to find out if those limits were changed.
Walking back to Deltarune, he coldly commented, "How nice of you to wait for me."
Deltarune shrugged, "It is the least I could do for a fellow warrior of justice."
"Justice?" Touch questioned, his grip tightening on his weapons, "You call this act of terror justice?"
Deltarune couldn't seem to understand what he was trying to say, so instead she said nothing.
Touch knew he was going to have to kill Deltarune quickly, or at the very least, ensure that Ainz Ooal Gown gets here first before Seraphim does. But they were in a populated area, and if Touch used his more destructive skills, which would do more damage, it would doubtlessly kill innocent civilians in the area.
But…
If Touch fails here, then he'll never be able to leave Re-Estisize to go back to Nazarick. He won't be able to look in anyone's faces.
Ultimately, while he sympathized with everyone about to lose their lives in this pointless conflict…
The selfishness of man will prevail over the greater good.
Touch went to strike first.
"Message has been blocked, my lords!" Pandora's Actor shouted out when he found the trio standing near the gates of the city, "We have been commanded by Lord Momonga to cause a distraction while Lord Touch Me extracts the other Supreme Beings!"
"Wait, what?" Flatfoot questioned the two NPCs who had just arrived, "Explain?"
Bakuita needed no explanation as he nocked his bow with a comical amount of explosive arrows, "Nah, I don't need an explanation. Mare! How evil are you feeling today?"
Bakuita was one of the three rangers in Ainz Ooal Gown. Peroroncino focused on sharpshooting, picking off high value targets. Garnet was the guy who just dumped every bullet into the frontline, making sure the enemy's healers would always be forced to not have a break in-between the burst damage. And Bakuita was the explosion man, who did massive AoE and breaking basically any terrain or shield standing in their way.
Mare stuttered, not sure how to answer, "Ah- Um. Very?"
Bakuita grinned, drawing his bow, "Good! I'm aiming for the castle. Mare, start causing earthquakes!"
"Yes, Lord Bakuita!" Mare quickly got to work, the earth starting to shake.
"I'm afraid Lord Teikoku Shugisha is busy with his indulgence, Sir Adam," the human guard said, preventing Adam from entering the room.
Adam held in a groan, "I see. Well, tell him that Deltarune or I want to talk to him when he gets out."
The guard nods, "Yes sir."
As Adam left, he grumbled under his breath, mocking his superior, "Ooh, I'm Teikoku Shugisha, I'm so awesome with my harem of little girls, ooh…"
Seriously, does anyone appreciate Adam around this place? Lord Adao keeps getting all of his words refuted, and Adam is being prosecuted even worse than that! Nobody respects him around here!
Ugh, one of the nuns better be off duty…
Adam's train of thought was quickly derailed as he peered out of the window for a second and found that Deltarune put up some sort of barrier. That was weird, shouldn't Deltarune have ended that fight already?
Then, Adam looked around the city and found some group of people…
Huh, that's something Adam has never seen before. The head and body of a wolf, the arms of a gorilla and chimp, the legs of an elephant and a fox. What a bizarre chimera. He's definitely going to make that guy into a rug.
Which is when he noticed that the chimera just fired a dozen arrows at the castle.
Widening his eyes, Adam quickly casted a shield.
[Silent Widen Magic: Shield of Aegis]
A large, golden shield appeared in front of the castle, ready to protect it from harm.
The arrows completely bypassed the shield.
"Wha-"
The arrows made their mark and exploded, completely erasing an entire side of the castle.
Adam panickedly looked back at where Lord Teikoku Shugisha would be, but he seemed to be unharmed, if a bit confused at the fact that his room had a giant hole in it now.
Adam rolled his eyes at the sight, and instead did his job.
Pulling out his guitar from his inventory, with a few strums and spells, Adam conjured up a new angel army.
"Alright suckers! Atttaaaack!"
Doing their duty, the angels began to comb the streets to purge the evil-doers.
As the death toll in Re-Estisize began to rise, Flatfoot managed to smack Bakuita in the face and angrily asked him, "Why the hell are you trying to kill everyone as a distraction?!"
Bakuita angrily asked him back, "Well what the hell do you think a distraction is?! Am I not diverting attention away from whatever Touch needs to do to get our boys back home?!"
"Shoot at the fucking sky-"
Their conversation was cut short as Seraphim made their response clear with hundreds of angels suddenly appearing around the castle, all of them starting to head in their direction.
"You know what, I'll gladly accept that I should've just shot at the sky," Bakuita hastily conceded upon seeing the consequences of his actions, "I let my negative karma control my actions. I'm sorry."
Flatfoot sighed, all of the desire to fight Bakuita disappearing from his body, "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Alright, start shooting the angels now. Mare, you too."
Bakuita quickly agreed to the suggestion and began to blow the angels out of the sky along with Mare.
Which is when it became obvious to them that some sort of level 100 was heading straight for them.
"Shoot?" Bakuita asked.
"Shoot!" Flatfoot commanded.
Bakuita attempted to land hits, but the level 100 angel was adept at dodging, so Bakuita began to explode the arrows midair to catch him, which successfully did some damage.
However, the angel got close enough to start speaking, "Hey! Bastards! That was some real fucking rude shit you just pulled!"
"Who the hell are you?!" Bakuita shouted out.
"Adam! The First Virtue of Kami No Toshokan! Who the fuck are you losers?!"
"Ainz Ooal Gown!" Flatfoot decided to shout out, not seeing any reason to hide their identity anymore.
Adam then suddenly went to the side, "Heyyy! Lord Mustapha Mond! Some guys named Ainz Ooal Gown is fucking up Re-Estisize city! Can you send some help here? Thanks, bye!"
In all of their opinions, Adam is an absolute rat bastard.
Now, all of Seraphim was about to figure out they were here. And Touch was obviously preoccupied dealing with whatever is happening inside of that barrier trapping him.
Then, Bakuita remembered that breaking shit was his specialty.
"Hey, I'm about to free Touch, Flatfoot, you try to sneak around him to get to Touch," Bakuita whispered as he began to nock his arrows once more.
"Heard that!" Adam shouted out as he began to strum his guitar, "You're not gonna win that fight! [Summon Virtues]!"
Annoyingly, because Adam was obviously an NPC, Adam could use his higher tier summons with no consequences because he didn't have an experience bar to prevent him from using the more powerful summons, which are only so powerful because of the experience cost.
Four 9th tier angels and one 10th tier angel appeared in a flash of light. At the same time, Bakuita fired directly at the shield as Flatfoot turned invisible, attempting to go undetected.
Adam laughed, pointing to where Flatfoot was going, "Nuh-uh! I see you! [Pierce Magic: Ray of Retribution]!"
A ray of light comes out from Adam's guitar, finding its way directly into Flatfoot's arm, knocking him out of his invisibility.
Flatfoot didn't lose his arm, but there was a massive hole in it now. But regardless, he kept running, turning invisible once again.
At the same time, Bakuita's arrows were body blocked by the summoned angels, ensuring that the barrier stayed up.
Adam shrugged upon seeing Flatfoot leave, "Ah well. I guess he can go die over there."
The group had no idea why Adam was so confident that Flatfoot would be the one meeting their demise, but they were totally fine with taking advantage of his lack of action towards their rescue attempt.
Adam summoned more angels, ordering them to attack.
Then, suddenly, all of the angels stopped and Adam questioned, "The fuck?"
Pandora's Actor had turned into Luci*Fer, who had a few spells specifically designed to bother other angels.
Taking advantage of the stun, Bakuita shouted out, "[Barrage]!"
Bakuita aimed for both the enemy angels, and the barrier. He knew that killing the summons were unlikely, but the barrier should be easy to take down.
Pandora's Actor and Liberta joined in the fray, targeting Adam to prevent him from doing anything. Which was easier said than done.
Adam clicked his tongue in anger as he watched the arrows fly towards the barrier, and his summons were busy sucking dick and being unable to hit anyone with any of their spells and being taken down one by one by the players.
"Didn't realize you dipshits were all mentally and physically disabled!" Adam shouted at his minions, pointedly ignoring the barrier his ally put up dissipating, "Fine! I'll just do it myself! [Widen Boost Magic: Starfall]!"
Mystical clouds began to form in the sky, dropping stars upon Ainz Ooal Gown, as Adam summoned more minions.
Touch was losing the fight.
Not by much, the builds both he and Deltarune had essentially was forcing a stalemate. But the simple fact of the matter is, Deltarune just had bigger numbers than he had, and in a situation like this, it's ultimately a numbers game.
If there was any consolation at all, it would be that Deltarune seemed to lack a non-holy weapon, allowing Touch to take full advantage of one of his passive abilities that let him have a small chance to heal when taking holy damage.
Getting hit by Deltarune's spear and failing the healing chance, Touch grabbed the spear with his shield arm as he slammed his sword into Deltarune's neck, "[Wrath of Ancients]!"
Deltarune's grip was iron tight as instead of letting go, she simply used the momentum to circle around Touch, still holding her own spear, and kicking Touch with, "[Counterstrike]!"
The force to Touch's back was enough to make him let go of the spear as he was sent flying across the battlefield.
Every single human in the barrier was already dead, and every building was leveled due to the force of their blows. Whether it was from either of their hands didn't truly matter to Touch, as he had been ensuring the bodies of his friends were still safe.
Through the barrier, Touch could see time was running out as angels were flying across the city. As soon as the barrier went down, Touch needed to drop everything and get his friends away from this place.
That opportunity came a moment later as Bakuita's arrows landed on the barrier, shattering it instantly.
Touch acted instantly, dashing towards the bodies of his comrades.
Deltarune recovered quickly, attempting to stop Touch from achieving his goals.
Only to be stopped short by Flatfoot stunning her with a skill.
Flatfoot immediately dashed back to Touch's location, looking back and panickedly asking, "Holy shit- Is that-"
"Deltarune is a caloric golem focused on killing negative karma players," Touch got straight to the point, "You won't stand a chance against her. Can you carry them out of here? I'll cover you."
Flatfoot, for all his faults and weaknesses, still had the common sense to follow the orders of a police officer.
Flatfoot quickly picked up the core of Nearata, putting it on his waistband. Then, he picked up the smaller body of Denshosho and put it on his back while he carried Nishikienrai in his arms.
Deltarune snarled, "You won't get away-"
Then, another angel appeared, "Deltarune! What's happening?!"
Deltarune's eyes widened as she turned to the newcomer, "Lord Teikoku Shugisha! These evildoers-"
Teikoku ignored Deltarune and turned to Touch, then his own eyes widened, "You…"
Touch brandished his sword towards the player, ensuring their attention was on him as Flatfoot made his escape, "You're lucky that you have a caloric golem with you. Otherwise, you would be dead where you stand."
Teikoku was clearly intimidated by the world champion's words as he nervously took a step back and said, "Hey dude! I'm sure that we can say sorry and make up-!"
"Your NPC killed my friends."
Teikoku's mouth fell as he turned to Deltarune.
Deltarune robotically replied, "It was Lord Mustapha Mond's request to kill first, ask questions later."
Teikoku facepalmed, "Oh my fucking god that guy."
Teikoku then turned to Touch, "So, um, can we kiss and make up?"
They were treating the deaths of his friends as a side-thing. It was as though they held absolutely no importance to them. They acted as if everything would just be fine. That revival spells will simply fix everything.
They disrespect life itself.
Teikoku continued without any insight into his thought process, "Well, you have that one world item that lets you revive people with no cost, right? You just take them back and-"
"[World Break]"
Liberta shouted out in the middle of battle, "My lords! There are reinforcements incoming from Lady Orphea Scarlet's group!"
"Then let's just delay!" Bakuita suggested as he told Mare, "Mare, can you get Adam down here?!"
Adam has been up in the skies above where anyone could reasonably reach him, summoning more and more angels into battle.
It was noted by everyone that Adam was somehow more powerful than what he reasonably should be. His attacks deal more damage than what a geared level 100 should be able to do with his build. But since they outnumbered Adam, it was mostly equalized.
Mare nodded, obeying as he casted, "[Overgrowth of Nature]!"
Massive vines erupted from the floor, shattering the earth around them as the vines attempted to grab Adam.
Adam simply used his basic spatial awareness to fly higher in the air, laughing at the vines that couldn't reach him, "Haha! Idiot babies! Did you really think-"
Suddenly, the world shook as a everything started to collapse and violently break.
Adam confusedly looked towards the destruction, "What the fuck?!"
Bakuita figured it out. It was a world break from Touch. But wasn't he a goody-two shoes? What the hell could make him resort to that?!
Adam snarled, "Okay, you motherfuckers are dea-Agh!"
Adam was interrupted as he was kicked towards the ground by Pandora's Actor in the form of Bellriver.
"How the fuck did you get up there?!" Adam angrily shouted out as he was falling towards the ground.
"Secret, my good friend!" Pandora's Actor replied, not giving away anything.
The real answer was that Momonga, ever since learning from Vagisilious about the whole "Nazarick becoming real" thing, has been putting random items into Pandora's Actor's inventory just in case he ever needed them, even buying inventory slots for Pandora's Actor to do so. So Pandora's Actor just so happened to have a staff that allowed him to teleport within the confines of dimensional block.
Adam fell into the grasping range of Mare's vines, and he was suddenly punched further into the ground by Pandora's Actor transforming into Yamaiko.
Even so, Adam didn't take as much damage as everyone thought he would've "Tch, you're all so fucking-"
"[Shadow Waltz]!"
Adam was hit by a massive tentacle, slamming him into the ground as Orphea used the dash gained from landing her shadow waltz to combo into another spell, "[Chomp]!"
A ring of teeth formed in front of Orphea as it bit into Adam, who shouted out in pain as he punched Orphea.
But landing the chomp gave Orphea another dash, so she just dashed back to her allies.
"About time!" Bakuita said as he finished firing off another arrow into another angel, "Using your magic set?"
Orphea nodded, gear no longer that of some sort of martial artist princess, but more of a mobster look, "I thought Vaggy would be here, but yeah."
At that moment, everyone else caught up to the fight.
Peroroncino's arrows took out the remaining high level angels, while Demiurge's summons took the attention of lower angels.
Bukubukuchagama cheered out, "We are here!"
Adam loudly groaned, beginning to fly back into the air, "God fucking damn it! Where are my fucking reinforcements-!"
"Right here!" Shouted another angel, 13 more angels coming in from a distance.
"Oh shi- I'm sorry, Lord Qwerty!" Adam quickly apologized, turning back to the fight.
Seraphim started to arrive, but with the arrival of everyone, nobody was quite sure why they were fighting in the first place, creating an awkward tension in the air as people tried to figure out if they should fight or not.
Then, someone asked a good question, "Hey, you're Ainz Ooal Gown, right?"
Orphea decided to take control of the situation and say, "Yeah, and you're Seraphim?"
That only made the other angel players confused, "Wait, how the hell are you even here? You weren't supposed to appear for like, another 50 or 100 years?"
Orphea raised an eyebrow, "What the fuck are you talking about? You know what, let's just ignore that. Your guys are attacking us, pretty ballsy move."
Adam cut in to shout out, "The fuck you mean?! You shot first!"
Bakuita shouted out, "You guys put a dimensional block and veil of isolation-!"
Then, the two spells suddenly wore off.
"See?! Didn't you just feel that?!" Bakuita said, his anger suddenly justified in his own mind, "You're in the wrong here!"
Qwerty pointed out the ruined city, littered with human corpses, "You guys literally killed innocent people!? Hello!? I saw that world break!"
"Sure, we'll take responsibility for that but-" Orphea then looked around, trying to figure out why she was doing all of the talking, then she realized, "Wait, where the fuck is Momonga?"
Bakuita confusedly asked, "Wait, didn't Momonga tell you to come back us up?"
Orphea looked back at Bakuita, "No? We came because Punitto saw the veil of isolation."
Then, Qwerty looked around, "Hey, where the fuck is Mustapha?"
It seemed as if both of their leaders were missing.
If they tried to fight now, Ainz Ooal Gown would handedly lose the fight.
And Orphea knew it.
There were still members of Seraphim teleporting in. If they had Vagisilious with the Mianguan, it was going to be a rough start, but they would still win the fight. But as of now, Vagisilious was busy saving Ulbert in the Dragon Kingdom.
Which is when Punitto called in, "Touch and Flatfoot got out of the city. Get the fuck out of there. Now. We'll find Momonga later."
Orphea gladly took the opportunity to stop being in such a disadvantageous situation as the scales continually tipped in Seraphim's favor, "Alright, welp, it's good knowing you but-"
Nubo opens a massive gate behind them.
"Toodle-o!"
Everyone quickly evacuates the area, leaving everyone confused and left with a whole section of the city destroyed for no apparent reason.
A few minutes before Seraphim arrived in full, Momonga and Mustapha Mond entered a gate together to the London District of the Holy Kingdom.

The more evil an enemy is, they will have their base attributes fall by up to 50% (1% per 10 negative karma), and they will suffer from poison damage dependent upon negative karma.]
The Almighty One's Retribution Lore
A breastplate crafted in the heavens, adorned with angelic runes.
Nardiloptr was a world filled with strife and curses. Monsters roamed the land, hunting all those who laid eyes upon them.
Pockets of civilization were wiped out constantly as the game of cat and mouse continued on for millenia.
But one man couldn't continue on seeing the devastation on his home. So he traveled across the world, searching for a cure.
Eventually, he found a sacred temple belonging to the gods. And so, he placed himself on the altar and asked for a way to protect his home.
The gods simply asked the man why they would bother protecting a people they held no love for.
The man bargained that if they aided him in ridding Nardiloptr of its corruption, he would bind the souls of every single person to their service to serve, even in death.
So, a deal was struck as they granted the man a breastplate that would protect him from the evils of the world, and a sword that would grant him the power to protect the ones he loved.
Through decades, the man liberated his world from the terrors that devoured it alive. And eventually, the gods came back to collect their debt.
But he refused.

Denshosho's Notes: Cliffhanger ending smh. Nidhoggr makes all of the world items by chomping on leaves and he couldn't even bother finishing writing this?
Apollyon's Notes: Why are we putting this on Deltarune? This sucks. Give it to me, I literally got this.

Deltarune's Bio
Deltarune is one of the Primordial Angels that will bring Judgment Day upon the world when the wheels of time inevitably stop turning. But the cold, apathetic interior of Deltarune is masked by Kris, an extremely kind and sociable girl.
Deltarune has double personality disorder. Whenever a player fights or talks to her, it's Deltarune. When she is in the company of equals, she is Kris. Though obviously she's Deltarune whenever she fights as well.
The two personalities are aware of each other, and mildly dislike each other but tolerate their presence within their bodies. Kris is aware that Deltarune is the 'main' personality, however.
Deltarune's build is specifically designed to kill evil-doers, however, Deltarune is very similar to those she's made to kill, and she is very aware of this fact. However, she is not perturbed at all by it, as she is made to destroy everything that stands in Seraphim's way.
Deltarune is additionally a part of the Virtues of Kami No Toshokan, along with her sister and brother, Undertale & Apocrypha. The trio act as one virtue all together because… Well, idk actually, Apollyon just told me that it would ruin the numbering (Deltarune & Undertale both don't like Apocrypha. There's nothing wrong with the NPC, I just don't like that Apollyon stole my niche.)
Kris is a pacifist, and she believes in the inherent kindness within all creatures. She is the reason why Deltarune has 500 karma, she's just that nice. Her relationship with everyone in Kami No Toshokan is basically maxed out, and nobody dislikes her. If she was an actual person instead of being stuck in the bio, everyone in Seraphim would like her too.
They both like blue birds. Blue birds are cute :)

Adam's Bio
Adam is Adao, but his build is more awesome because Yggdrasil is a bitch ass game that won't let me have the extra 100s. But other than that, Adam is basically a copy of Adao.
Adam is just as cool as Adao, and is way cooler than any other members of Seraphim because he's just that amazing.
Fantastic guy, would never make any mistakes. His game is just as good as Adao's IRL.
Also Elynas told me about the whole virtues system, so Adam is in the virtues. That doesn't make him as cool as me who's in the 72 Lords of Seraphim (Banger name btw. Good job Mustapha.) but the virtues are pretty cool. Plus, he's the awesomest guy in the virtues because the virtues are all level 100 NPCs, and that's pretty lame. Unlike Adam.
Okay fine the fun police are twisting my arms to write a job for him. So he's the captain of a hitman squad called the exterminators, and I changed his karma to -500! Ha! Fuck you!
AN:
Why Nishikienrai, Denshosho, and Nearata?
Well, Nishikienrai is Doppelganger's favorite SB, so I killed him.
Tristeza wanted other's opinions on the world items, and specifically cited Denshosho, so I killed him.
Nearata was nobody's favorite, he wasn't even supposed to be there, they were supposed to be in groups of 2 but I decided to make it groups of 3 because I didn't feel like writing an extra PoV.
So I killed him.
I was hysterically laughing when I told Doppelganger he would like this chapter. It was absolutely hilarious.
Anyways, while the iron's hot, here's the MS paints for this chapter.
(Obviously, FFN. A reminder that all of my MS paints are on Archive of Our Own.)
Deltarune is traced from Gojo's hollow purple from Jujutsu Kaisen. Originally he was like Berdly, but it didn't vibe with me, so I changed her to be Kris from Deltarune. But with like, white hair or something (If you squint?)
Nishikienrai is an official image I tried my best to recreate, and obviously he's traced from Toji's death.
Denshosho is just a pale goblin. Traced from one of the frames where Goku's down.
Nearata is Ghazt from My Singing Monsters, but I split him in 2. Though canonically, he blew up and is now just an orb. Probably blue.
Yes, I completed these all in like, 30 minutes (Nishikienrai was 25 of those.)
I laughed a bit when writing these scenes.
Anyways, the next chapter is going to be just 2 dudes talking, so hopefully it'll be a short chapter, maybe even below 5k! Wouldn't that be nice? Especially when this chapter ended up at 9k and is going to 10k because of AN stuff.
X
Adao is Adam in Portuguese, according to Tristeza a few months ago. He speaks it, so he's probably right.
He also made this Adam's build. There were actually 2 Adam builds I could use, and sorry Zodiac, but this one's classes sounded cooler. I'll probably just change your Adam's name into something else and use it for a different purpose, because your classes are still pretty cool.
Speaking of which, Zodiac also made Deltarune, except I changed her head to be more human and less bird. The name comes from the game Deltarune, obviously. And the twins are Undertale, same creator, and Apocrypha, which is just a cool name that I found. Apparently it means "Hidden" in Greek.
Teikoku Shugisha is "Imperialist" from English to Japanese google translated.
Qwerty is the top row on the typical English keyboard.
Apollyon is apparently something from Christianity called Abbadon, but I just used it because Apollyon from For Honor was pretty cool. But this Apollyon is a dude.
Nardiloptr is something I came up with on the spot 10 minutes ago.

So, did you expect deaths so early? Maybe you did, I don't think I'm the most subtle person in the world. And you gotta give the enemy some amount of fearsomeness, especially after Athalia got clapped in 3 paragraphs after Vagisilious arrived.
Though, to be fair to Athalia, Ulbert was getting his ass kicked before that.
Anyways, they'll be fine. The overarching goal in a game is to minimize risk, and Vagisilious has done beautifully in her goal, which makes setting any stakes kind of bothersome.
So, anyways, the next chapter will probably come out in the next 2 weeks, and should be pretty short. No MS paint for the next 2 chapters to make the speed faster.
Anyways, the contents of this chapter was kind of a pain in the ass to write. Mostly the fights, though. Could not vibe with the Adam fight or the Deltarune fight.
By the way, questions like "Why are the Seraphim NPCs noted to be stronger than usual?" or "Why did Touch Me use World Break?" are answered in the next chapter.
Anyways, feel free to comment if you have thoughts.
