chapter seventeen
Mid-August 2008
the next day on the morning
In the dining room of the Minerva family home.
Minerva and her daughter were sitting at the dining table eating breakfast.
Minerva was thinking deeply, it had been almost two weeks since the last contact (letter) with Arthur, she was pleased with the news of Molly's forgiveness of Arthur and her return to the burrow , but she had already told Athena.
Arthur told her that he will not be able to communicate with her for a while until things settle down with Molly, and that he will send her a letter when things settle down in order to meet Athena.
Athena was a curious child from a young age, and it was natural for her to be excited to get to know her father. She used to ask her every day when she would meet her father.
Her thinking was interrupted by her daughter's voice. "Did Mr Arthur send any letters today, Mama?" said Athena.
Minerva sighed and said, "No, my child, he didn't send any letters today."
"Two weeks have passed," said Athena. "Do you think he regretted the decision to get to know me, and changed his mind?"
Minerva said, "I'm sure he hasn't changed his mind and wants to get to know you, Athena. The thing is, he has important work to finish first. I want you to be patient a little longer, my kitty."
Athena said, "But there is only one week left, and we will return to Hogwarts so that you can prepare for the new academic year at Hogwarts, and until I prepare for the new academic year for my school, as the summer vacation is almost over."
Athena was right, and Minerva knows that.
Athena was attending school in Hogsmeade and She is going to start her school year on the first of September.
Minerva sighed and said, "Don't worry, my little , he'll send a letter soon."
They went back to eating breakfast and Minerva returned to thinking again, Is it possible that Arthur changed his mind, did he regret communicating with Minerva again, would he try to pretend that Athena does not exist, is Molly behind this, did she rush to tell Athena?
Then Minerva heard a knocking on the window and looked and found an owl, she stood up and went to the window and opened it and entered the owl, she took the letter from its foot, and immediately the owl went to the table to eat some food, and Athena gave her some food.
Minerva opened the letter, it was from Arthur telling her that he is ready to meet Athena and that she set a date for that.
Minerva smiled and said while looking at Athena, "The letter is from your father, telling me to set an appointment for you to meet."
Athena stood up and went to her mother and said, "Really, mother, he sent a letter at last, can we meet him today?"
Minerva said, "I think tomorrow will be better, my kitty ."
"Okay," said Athena, smiling nervously.
Minerva said as she left the room, "I will go to the office room to write him a letter with the appointment tomorrow, finish eating your breakfast, my little ."
Minerva went out and went to the office room, she was a little happy, although she did not know what exactly caused her happiness.
In the office he wrote a letter to Arthur telling him of the appointment tomorrow, and that she would be waiting for him at the The Three Broomsticks inn in Hogsmeade.
Minerva plans that Arthur and Athena will meet here at her family's home, because she is still a bit afraid of returning to her home in Hogsmeade. She will meet Arthur at the Three Broomsticks inn and then they will come here.
After she finished, she went to her owl and tied the letter to her foot, then the owl spread her wings and flew away.
Athena was nervous and excited the rest of the day, Minerva decided to take her daughter and go buy some groceries and then go to the forest to fly with broomsticks for a bit to reduce their stress.
At the grocery store, Athena was walking with her mother, her mind preoccupied، Any boy or girl with their father was drew her attention ، Athena was a nervous , she had never experienced the feeling of having a father before ،She does not know how the way of dealing between her and Mr Arthur should be ، There were many questions in her head.
After they finished shopping, they went home to put groceries and took broomsticks and went to the far forest.
Athena's broom would fly to a height lower, suitable for her age, and Minerva would take her with her on her broom so that they would fly higher than Athena's broom sometimes.
They continued to fly for a long time, during which Athena tried to clear her mind and reduce her stress by flying (a characteristic she inherited from her mother).
When they had finished, before they went home, they sat a little on the grass, and Minerva did Summon spell for a basket containing some sandwiches and juice, which she had prepared at home.
Athena said, "How was the relationship between you and my grandfather, Mama, I mean, my grandfather Robert (Robert McGonagall, Minerva's father)?"
Minerva looked at her daughter with astonishment and said, "My relationship was good with him. I was very close to my father, even though he was a muggle, but that did not affect his relationship with us at all." Minerva smiled while remembering and continued her speech. " I inherited my Scottish temper from him."
Minerva said, "Why do you ask, my kitty? I have already told you so much about your grandparents, your uncles, and our family."
Athena sighed and said, "I don't know how children are supposed to deal with their father. I've never had a father before, and I'm a little nervous. How should I deal with Mr Arthur?"
Minerva sighed, feeling sad for her daughter. She wished that her daughter would grow up between her mother and father.
"I know you're nervous, my kitty," said Minerva, "and it's a new feeling for you. Having a father is a good thing, too. I'm sure you'll do well. Don't overthink it, Athena."
"Okay, Mama," said Athena, "but should I call him Mr Arthur or father (papa) ?"
Minerva said, "If you are comfortable calling him father , call him father, and if you are not ready , you can call him Mr Arthur, my kitty, don't be so hard on yourself."
Athena shook her head understandingly.
Minerva said while placing her hand on her daughter's cheek, "Don't worry, my little , I am always by your side."
Athena smiled at her mother and hugged her.
"Come on, my kitty, let's go home," said Minerva, "it will soon be night."
Minerva and her daughter returned to their homes in Caithness.
The next day
Minerva woke up early today, she was nervous and worried, she was afraid for her daughter, she was afraid of her reaction after knowing that she is from the Weasley family, and after getting to know her father, she was afraid that Arthur would abandon her at any time, would her siblings accept her, She was suspicious of that.
She waited until Athena got up and had breakfast with her daughter, then went to prepare to meet Arthur and bring him here.
Athena said , who had also dressed and prepared herself "Mama, what do you think, are these clothes appropriate?" and She looks at her mother with her green eyes.
Minerva smiled at her and said, "You are beautiful, my child, whatever you wear." And when Athena frowned a little, Minerva continued, "The clothes are very suitable for you."
Athena smiled at her, Athena was excited to meet her father.
"It's almost time," said Minerva, "I'll go get Arthur. Wait for me, my little. I'll leave a house elf with you."
Athena said, "I can stay alone, don't worry, Mama."
Minerva said, "No, Athena, you are still young ," and continued, "I will not be late, my kitty."
Minerva used floo powder to get to her home in Hogsmeade.
after she reached her house in Hogsmeade, she went out of it to go to the Three The Broomsticks Inn and tavern .
When she entered the tavern, Madame Rosmerta welcomed her, and they exchanged greetings.
Madam Rosmerta said, smiling at Minerva, "Minerva, how are you and how is little Athena? were you enjoying your vacation? The summer vacation is almost over."
Minerva smiled at her and said, "We are doing well, Rosmerta, and how are you?"
Their conversation continued for a few minutes, then Minerva went to one of the tables and sat waiting for Arthur.
Fifteen minutes later, Arthur arrived at the tavern.
Arthur smiled and said, "Hi Minerva, how are you?"
And he was looking nervously around him, this reminded her of her daughter, she was like her father when she was nervous.
Minerva said, "Hi, Athena didn't come with me, Arthur, so stop looking around."
Arthur's face changed and he said, "Why, did something happen, is Athena okay?"
"she is fine, Arthur," said Minerva, and continued with a sneer, "Did you expect me to bring her with me to meet her in a public place and spread will rumor ? I'll take you home to meet her there. Let's go."
They left the tavern and headed to Minerva's house.
After they were at home, Minerva said, "We will use the floo powder to go to my family's house in Caithness. Athena and I are staying there now."
Arthur said, "Why did you and Athena move from here?"
"I'll tell you later," Minerva said. "Now come on, you don't want to make Athena wait any longer."
They used floo powder and moved into the McGonagalls' house.
I wanted to make the meeting of Arthur and Athena in this chapter, but it would have made it too long, so I postponed it to the next chapter.
