At our core there is a simple but strong feeling that often goes unnoticed due to how little it impacts our thoughts, but when we see someone we care about, treasure, no matter how little it seems at first, that feeling built into our very being drives us to reach out and help them, to lift them from whatever darkened marsh pit they are sinking into, to pull them out, hold them close to us, and simply share them a single thought that cuts through whatever darkness clouds their minds... letting them know, that they are not alone in this world~

=Prologue=
(Weavile's PoV)
Weavile slept soundly in the very early morning hours, snoozing as he curled up on the bed of his trainer's youngest son.
Everything was peaceful, everything was nice, the sun was just warming up the bed, his claws were comfy, and otherwise it was a beautiful day in Greenstation Town. That was until...
*Beeeeeep, Beeeeep, Beeeeeep!*
"Griigh... More sleeeeep thank you..." A groggy voice complained as the young man slapped his alarm clock to shut it off.
Weavile slowly woke up to look around, before yawning and starting to stretch. He was very content to take his time waking up, after all he was a retired battler of his trainer who used to be a former Gym Trainer, hired to challenge trainers during gym challenges. He wasn't a slouch, but he wasn't exactly the toughest mon on the block nowadays since retiring. Still, he enjoyed the quiet and peace that came with retirement, like enjoying sleeping in with a warm human on a bed.
The human he was lying on was his trainer's youngest son, the young man was twenty years old, two years into college and was home for winter vacation. He was an average young man, not the brightest star in the sky, he was no prince charming, and he was actually kinda scrawny all things considered. But the guy had a natural light grey hair color to stand out from the rest, standing at around five foot-nine, green eyes, pale skin, just your run of the mill average guy in the town. They'd been friends for years, since he was a kid the Weavile had grown up with him, and they were practically best friends. They could joke about anything and everything, even his love life.
He stretched and jumped off the bed to go get something to eat since he knew his trainer's 'kid' would be out for a while longer. Dominick was always a late riser if given half the chance.
Downstairs in the kitchen he saw his trainer's wife had already finished breakfast for him that morning and left it on a little table next to his climbing tower that he used to mess around on. It was typical poke-chow, but today it was Tauros-meat flavored. Imported Tauros-flavored food was expensive so today must be a good day if they were willing to splurge on him tonight.
"Oh yea, today's the day of their anniversary... guess that means they won't be back till much later!' He thought happily as he chowed down.
Breakfast wasn't too bad, a little quiet since he was alone, but he didn't mind as he finished eating. Just then Dominick slowly trudged in, hair all frayed and everything, meaning he just got out of bed.
"Mhmmm morning Weaver." He said tiredly.
"Weav!" He replied.
Weaver was his nickname, though his trainer never officially gave him one, the family started calling him 'Weaver', on account of his name. He watched Dominick open the fridge, pull out some leftover food, heat it up in the microwave and then heat it up to eat. Breakfast was very quiet as well for the human, and Weaver honestly didn't mind either, he enjoyed quiet.
*Riiing*
"Hmm?" He hummed as he ate and quickly looked at his phone. "Hello, oh hi Jessica, what's up?"
Weaver idly climbed his little climbing tower and began scratching and playing with one of the toys attached to a string on it, bopping it and flinging it everywhere. Yea it was a simple Skitty toy, nothing special especially for a Pokemon known to hunt other Pokemon in the wild in packs, but he had fun messing around with it.
"Oh, you want to go on a date today?" He asked. "Where to, near a small river just south of Lake Acuity? You want me to scope out a Picnic area and then pick you up later? Alright, but only if you're cooking~." He was quiet as he waited for his girlfriend's response. "Sweet, but no silly PBJ sandwiches, I want you to 'actually' make something... hah, I know you too well."
Weaver glanced up and snickered, yea he also knew Dominick's girlfriend, she was the 'laziest' girl when it came to making food, but when she did put in effort, it was totally worth it!
"Schweet, I'll see you later then, around five o'clock sound good, my parents won't be home till after midnight tonight, they're celebrating their anniversary today, so we have all day to ourselves. Oh yea, I didn't forget, today is 'our' anniversary too, one whole year of us being boyfriend and girlfriend, woohoo!"
He watched Dominick smile as he hung up the phone and stretched.
"Alright Weaver, feel like hitting the track and running up to Lake Acuity with me for a short trip?" He asked him.
"Sure!" He replied, but of course it sounded like, "Wea vile!" to him.
After putting dishes away and taking a quick shower to clean himself up, Dominick took him and a few things out of the house. The trip up toward Lake Acuity was a long and pretty uneventful one, occasionally Weaver saw random bird Pokemon, mostly Starlys and Staravias, and the occasional Wurmple or even a Cherim or two, but it was motly Starlys flying around. They weren't that threatening to begin with and they were also extremely passive near Greenstation Town, and only the occasional Staraptor would cause any human or Pokemon trouble.
"Huh, what's that?" Dominick asked in surprise.
Weaver turned to look at what Dominick was talking about and saw to his surprise, a most random sight for this area, a Garchomp, with a pair of Gabites, snoozing on the ground. Seeing Garchomps around here wasn't unusual, they were known to wander around this area near Lake Acuity having migrated around this time from deep winter season near Mt. Coronet. But he also knew it was a little 'unusual' to see them just napping so close to town.
"Got to admit, they look terrifying at any other time but when they're sleeping like that, they look so adorable." Dominick said with a smile.
"Yea, let's just not go snuggling them while they're asleep." Weaver said as they moved on, taking a wide path around them to avoid startling them or appear threatening.
While most Garchomps are dangerous, some will just let you go on your way if you don't intrude on its territory or at least don't approach it directly.
They walked along a dirt road for over an hour, Weaver occasionally jumping up and hanging from Dominick's shoulder, causing him to laugh at the Weavile's antics. "Come on Weaver, you know you're not a lightweight!"
"My feet are tired, don't blame me!" He countered.
He was super happy to hang out with Dominick, in fact he was hoping that when Dominick returned to college life, he could get his trainer to let him go with Dominick for a year. Sleeping and lazing around at home is nice and all, but he wanted to see new sights and check out if the rumors were true that female college 'Pokemon' were as 'horny' as their neighbor's Houndoom said they were. He doubted it, but... if it were 'true'... can't blame him for wanting to see if the rumors are true right?
They kept traveling for another hour until they reached the little river area that Dominick said they were aiming for. In the distance Weaver could see a waterfall pouring from where Lake Acuity was. The area was probably one of the prettiest areas in Sinnoh, and many traveled to Lake Acuity, because of the fabled myth that if one were to stay there for long enough, one might meet the great Pokemon of legend, Uxie.
Of course, that was just a little myth, so nobody really paid attention to it.
"Well, I think this looks like a good spot, what do you think?" Dominick asked him.
Weaver nodded as he jumped down and took a look around. Yep, everything looked nice to him, perfect place to snooze, sit, eat, whatever one wanted. "Probably should scout the area first!" He asked him while sweeping the field with his arm.
"Yea, better make sure the place is safe for my date, who knows, I might actually need to use that 'safety harness' dad gave me tonight." Dominick chuckled.
"Sure, and I'll sprout wings and fly!" Weaver smack talked back with a sly grin.
"Alright smarty pants, I'll take a look around the base of the waterfall, you check out little patches of bushes and tall grass around here." Dominick told him while walking over to the waterfall.
Weaver nodded as he ran off to the patches of tall grass and bushes to take a peek around. He checked around the grasses, checked in bushes, yawned and idly began plucking a few wild berries to snack on, bored that nothing was happening. But honestly that wasn't too bad in his opinion, today was just going to be another nice day by the looks of it. The area was pretty safe, usually always was since this was a highly popular place for humans to visit, trainers or otherwise, so naturally the worst thing out here might be the occasional Wurmple trying to steal food.
Yawning, he stretched, sat down and lay on his back for a bit to idly pluck a random berry to snack on. Dominick could wait for a minute; nothing was going to happen...
He began to doze off, the gentle breeze of the wind and the smell of the air lulling his senses and causing him to feel sleepy combined with the berries. He yawned again, closed his eyes, and rolled onto his side to begin falling asleep.
Tnng... Tzzsts... Krregtk...
In the back of his mind, he thought he was hearing a strange 'lightning' sounding, but he brushed it off, it didn't sound like lightning... sounded weird, for all he knew he was just imagining it.
-Brooom!-
Weaver snapped his eyes open at that sound, knowing something dangerous when he heard it and got up, looking around to see what had caused that sound, when he saw...
"By Arceus' Plates..." Weaver whispered as he beheld the most 'unusual' sight he'd ever seen.
It was this... dome, this strange purple dome thing covering a huge swath of land, a strange black and white 'crack' at the top of it emitting this strange multi-color light that dissipated as it flew over and into the sphere of energy or light. But as he stared at it, he could see inside of it... barely, but he could see within the sphere... 'shapes'...
His first instinct was to run and get Dominick and then run away to safety, he just felt within his guts that this was weird, wrong... but as his eyes widened in horrifying realization... the sphere thing, was 'exactly' where Dominick was.
He 'ran' as fast as his feet could carry him.
Without regard or concern for his safety, he leapt into the strange purple thing, and everything around him, space, time, whatever it was had become fractured. The terrain was still there, but the air was confused about what it wanted to be, it was both thick and thin, he could breathe normally but he still 'felt' like he was struggling just to 'breathe' normally. Lights floated and faded away, everything was stuck in this strange hum of confusion and fear, but all he cared about was finding Dominick and getting out of here.
"DOMINICK!" He screamed in a panic. "DOMINICK, WHERE ARE YOU?!"
He leapt and jumped, trying to find his trainer's son, desperate to get him out of here.
"DOMINICK, DOMINICK!" He desperately yelled, calling out for him.
"Zroaaaaar!" A voice yelled out.
He turned and saw... something, something white and crimson red, it resembled a Zoroark but its mane was frayed and disheveled, it stood hunched over, its eyes red and snarling at him. Terrified and not wanting to fight it, he leapt away as it tried to attack him, ignoring him as he did not care about fighting, just wanting to find his Trainer's son and 'save' him, get him to safety... they can laugh all they want later, but right now, he 'had' to save him.
"Heeeelp, Weaver, someoooone!"
He snapped his head in the direction of that sound, hearing Dominick's voice and running toward it. He climbed over a rock, leapt forward and saw a tall grass-type Pokemon preparing to kick Dominick with its slender legs. He roared his battle cry and created a cluster of sharpened ice on his claws, slashing down upon the Pokemon to save the human.
The Pokemon, without even turning to stare at him, cartwheeled backward, and 'kicked' him into the air in a blind counter strike, before twirling and kicking him again toward Dominick. Painfully he landed in a heap in front of him and looked up to stare at what they were fighting, or 'running' from. The Pokemon resembled a Lilligant, if a Lilligant grew long slender legs, was much thinner, had a 'pink' flower instead of orange upon its head, and danced in a way that hypnotized a trainer with how graceful it was in battle. It would look beautiful, if it weren't glaring at them with red glowing eyes and beginning to twirl and spin toward them to attack them again.
"Run!" Dominick screamed as he got up.
Weaver nodded and got up to run as well, both of them running as fast as they could manage, getting away from the crazy grass Pokemon which continued to chase after them. It then leapt up, twirling very high into the air using her arms as propellers, and then landed directly behind them with a mighty 'stomp' of its legs, creating a small crater where they had been mere moments ago.
They just kept running, heading for the exit, Weaver was faster naturally compared to the human, so he managed to get to the edge first, but the Lilligant-thing was hot on Dominick's tail, and so in desperation to buy him precious seconds to escape, he roared and charged at the Lilligant, claws extended to attack and-
-BAM-
The Lilligant without even hesitating kicked him backward with such force that he felt like his ribs were cracked, and he was knocked out of the sphere bubble, right as a strange 'groaning' sound occurred. Up above the 'crack' in the sky or whatever it was began to close up, drawing everything in the sphere toward it. He stared in horror as Dominick rushed as fast as his legs could to get out, his jacket being grabbed by the Lilligant as it tried to attack him, and it ripped it apart, sending half of it toward him and keeping the other half with Dominick still attached to it.
Right as half of the jacket reached the edge of the sphere...
-PHreweeeze-
It vanished... with half of Dominick's phone sliding out, cut cleanly at the corner... the rest of it missing, along with the jacket, the jacket's owner, and everything else he'd seen appearing in that strange sphere.
All was silent... the sun was shining, the breeze was gentle, the air was normal... overall, it was a perfect day to snooze in and relax. But Weaver's mouth was open in horror, shock... as he crawled forward, in disbelief at what he was seeing. His mind just couldn't comprehend it, just couldn't fathom it... it had to be a dream, it couldn't be real, he'd wake up right now, to that annoying alarm clock and hear his trainer's son's voice complain, asking for more sleep... yea... that's it, it had to be a dream! He'd wake up, any minute now, any second... yea, it's just a dream... it must be, it 'needs' to be...
'Please... let this be a dream... please... please Arceus... please...'
But as he reached down, grasped at the tiny portion of leathery cloth that 'was' the jacket and a portion of its pocket... and the corner of the phone flopped out, showing its insides... his claws shook violently, tears welling up in his eyes, eventually, his mind began to accept what he had seen.
Dominick was gone... he was right in front of him and... he was 'gone'.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
=Six Years Later=
(Weaver's PoV)
The sky outside was cloudy, the thunderstorm was starting to roll in, the rumble of lightning approached as the pitter platter of rain beginning to fall battered the window. The silence that reigned in the room Weaver slept in was overpowering, but the Weavile didn't care. For years he sat in that room, only eating because he had to, staring at the bed that used to be his trainer's son's, staring longingly at the alarm clock that, every morning, beeped for someone to hit and make it shut up. Every day he woke up, hit the alarm, and just sat there... wishing he had done things differently.
Six years ago, he had failed to save his trainer's son; six years ago, he'd failed to keep his promise to keep him safe, six years ago he'd watched him vanish in front of his own eyes. And not a day went by when he didn't remind himself of what he'd failed to do.
-Breep Breep Breep Breep Bree-
*Click*
Weaver tapped the button and shut the thing up, stretching and sitting up to stare at the small piece of jacket, and sitting atop it, a tiny corner portion of the phone he'd had. All that he'd been able to find, bring back home, to remind himself of his failure.
He sniffed, even after six years, the pain just kept coming back.
He stayed out well past midnight, trying to find him that night, desperate, praying to Arceus for a miracle, hoping maybe he was just teleported away, that it was a ghost Pokemon's trick being played on him. But the pain in his chest had been very real. By the time he came back, his parents had started a search, calling police, local rangers, even begging the league to call back Cynthia from her vacation in Alola and her partnership with another champion, desperate for 'anything' that might help find their son.
They kept up the search for over a month, putting out a reward for trainers to find him, anything... hoping to find him. A year passed but nothing changed, he was still missing... and soon, the reality began to sink in, that he was gone. Weaver tried to keep searching, but even he soon began to let reality sink in as well. After six months, he was only clinging onto desperate hope that he knew was false.
After a year... only a single string kept him from ending it all.
He was supposed to protect Dominick, keep him safe, he was supposed to watch him grow up, maybe even live with 'him' until he became too old to move. Instead, he just woke up every day now, in an empty room, with only the alarm clock and bed, empty closet, drawer, and finally dust coating the walls to remind him of what 'used' to be in this room.
They'd tried to keep his stuff there, hoping someday he'd return... but after two years, they'd sold everything he owned so that the items wouldn't remind them of their loss. All that now remained was the alarm clock, and the bed.
He sighed and climbed out of the bed, went to the open door and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. Things just didn't feel the same, even after 6 years, every time he walked down his mind just kept reminding him of his failure. His parents had slowly accepted his disappearance, his older brother had long since moved away but always visited on the 'anniversary'. Everything had continued as normal, at least what was normal now, but the change had been there. His trainer had become very quiet, taking extra hours at work just to keep himself busy. His wife had become a bit more obsessed with cleaning things, finding excuses to clean up everything in the house just so she was doing 'something' as well.
Downstairs he silently ate his food without really caring, and by the time he finished both his Trainer went out to work and the wife had left to go visit the neighbor, leaving him alone in the house to watch over it.
"Heh... watch over it... yea... like how I watched over Dominick." He whispered bitterly as he trudged back upstairs to look out the window.
The day was cloudy, it was going to be very cloudy all day with a heavy chance of rain, allowing him the thrilling experience of sighing to himself, counting the strange shapes in the clouds, and wondering if they were all going to head out for something.
After an hour of watching in boredom, he closed his eyes, and tried to think of better times, just picturing it now, when Dominick was still a kid and they played together. How he 'impressed' the kid and wowed him with his fantastical combat displays, honed from years of battling in the Gym after facing hundreds of trainers. The stories his father showed, the little pretend fights he had with the kid... it put a small smile to his face. If for a moment, he was reminded of better days... but as always, his memories kept reminding him of when he let him down, just failed to save him, let him go and...
"Why didn't I stay in the bubble, I could have kept him safe, why did I rush faster than him... I could have saved him... if only I hadn't underestimated those things... I am 'better' than that!" He whispered bitterly, hitting his forehead on the windowsill.
Crying to himself he just looked out the window again... picturing it, in his mind... that giant purple bubble field, the crack in the sky... seeing Dominick running, terrified, screaming for help... he could see it now... right there in the distance...
He could faintly see it off in the distance, the crack in the sky, the tip of the purple bubble shimmering in and out of exis-
His eyes snapped open as he focused, blinking and wiping the tears away as he looked again to be sure, but sure enough he could see it, that bubble, it was there in the distance, almost EXACTLY where...
"It's... back!"
Without pausing, thinking, or concern he slashed at the window, smashing through it as he leapt out of Dominick's room and out into the cold, damp ground, racing toward Lake Acuity as fast as his legs could go. He could hear the 'break in alarm' going off behind him, but he didn't care, he had to get to that bubble, if that bubble took Dominick from them maybe he could use it to find him again. It was a shot in the dark, but it was a chance he'd take...
Twenty minutes of hard running resulted in him making excellent timing, he could see the bubble had fully formed during his journey, and it resembled the same bubble that took Dominick before, it was exactly the same, even down to the same location. It was just bordering the waterfall that poured from Lake Acuity. As he approached, however, he saw it beginning to shimmer and waver, as if it were about to vanish like before.
"No... no... just a little longer pleeeeease!" He screamed in desperation, jumping and using his claws to grab a tree and swing himself forward, using any trick he knew to gain momentum.
Just as he neared the sphere, leaping forward to jump into its borders, hoping with all his will that it would take him to Dominick, wherever he was...
The energy of the bubble's perimeter was sucked into the crack in the sky... vanishing just as he tumbled forward. He fell into a crumpled heap, head hitting a tree... right as the rain began to pour down.
"Hfg... knchvn... uhehf..." He wept, unable to take it. "I... I just... want to find him... I failed him again... I failed my trainer... I failed his son... I don't deserve to live..."
"Jessica, I think we're in the clear!" A voice called out. "Jessica, are you alright, where'd you go?"
He stopped crying as he heard that voice, and more importantly he recognized it, it sounded a little off, but it was 'definitely'...
"Muah... oh that was a close one... for sure that Ursarang would have torn me to pieces if I didn't roll behind that rock when it charged, oh man splitting up in there had been the 'worst' plan I ever came up with." That voice said more closely. "But at least we got some interesting materials, this should be a decent haul for Irida to trade to the Ginkgo Guild Merchants in Jubilife Village, we should be able to stockpile on new stuff to insulate our homes this winter! Though I should probably leave out my reckless plan, Irida will chew me out and force me to chop wood for months for my mistake."
Weaver looked up as a male adult human pushed through the bushes, wearing a kimono-style uniform of light pink and light lavender, with matching shorts, a straw hat, wooden sandals cushioned with loose fluff similar to that found from a Lopunny's ear. He looked different, older, far more mature and with a lot more muscle and less body fat than when he last saw him, a large bucket-like basket with al lid slung over his back that he was carrying, not to mention a mustache, but he recognized Dominick instantly.
"Hey... what the... where'd all the snow go and... hold on... this looks... familiar..."
"Dominick..."
Dominick turned to look at him, and the human's eyes went wide in shock, surprise... and utter disbelief. He looked at the Weavile as if, not daring to believe he was seeing what he was seeing with his own eyes.
(Enter Dominick's PoV
"W-W-Weaver... is that... is that... YOU?"
"DOMINICK!" He yelled, rushing to his feet and rushing him.
"Weaver!" Dominick screamed as he pulled the Weavile into a hug, crying happily as he held Weaver in his arms.
The last time he saw Weaver was 'six' years ago, when he had been running for his life in that space-time distortion. He'd last saw the Weavile forced out and hurt badly because of a Lilligant using a powerful Rock Smash with its foot, sending him flying. Then it had grabbed him, ripped his jacket apart, and after leaving the present for the past, had to 'run' for his life and abandon his jacket, his phone, not that it would have worked anyway, and everything else he had to save his life while it was distracted.
After that... well that could wait, he was home, he could see it in the distance, he could see the distant streetlights of home, the different buildings, the roads, everything!
More importantly, he was back home with his friend Weaver, his father's Weavile partner.
"Weaver, I missed you so much..." He laughed.
"I missed you so much as well!" Weaver muttered with a chuckle. "Weav vile vile weave!"
Dominick of course didn't know what he was saying, but he didn't care... he was home.
After a few minutes of reconnecting and reunion, he put the Weavile down and looked around, looking curiously for Jessica. "Jessica?" He yelled, hopefully.
He was hoping Jessica had gone back to the past where she came from, just like how the other Pokemon seemed to have vanished that he had been running from.
"I guess she didn't come with me, I hope she got out of the Space-Time Distortion in time..."
"Jessica, but Jessica's not..." Weaver began saying before Dominick heard footsteps.
"Sneeeeeeasler!" He heard calling for him and leaping over a large boulder to land heavily in front of him, was 'Jessica'.
"Sneasler sneas sneasler snea..." Jessica said with a smirk as she flexed her long sharp claws, her gold and black fur gleaming even on the cloudy day, with her gold/black gauntlet like wrists and claws glinting sharply as she talked to him. "Not even a scratch on me..."
She then looked at Dominick before looking to his left at the Weavile beside him and raising an eyebrow, even as the Weavile just looked up in awe and wonder.
"Sneasler snease sneasler snea?" She asked with a smirk. "Did you find a passive one in that Distortion?"
Dominick just stared at his partner Jessica, who towered above him, him standing around six feet but she was 'Alpha' size, standing at eight foot six. Being larger than normal wasn't unexpected, considering she was the 'daughter' of one of the Nobles of Hisui, a Sneasler who gifted him her egg after proving himself and his potential to be a worthy warden upon her retirement. They'd been together for five years, and they had been able to, with a lot of effort, work out a general understanding of each other so they could roughly converse with one another. But he had other things to worry about... as she began looking around in confusion.
"Snea... sneasler snea sneas, sneasler?" Jessica asked as she glanced around. "Say... things look a little weird, where'd all the snow go, are we still in the Alabaster Highlands or did we get lost?"
He gulped as he tried to figure out how best to tell her, because he knew... it was going to break her heart. "Jessica... we have a problem."
Jessica looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "Snea, Sneasler sneas sneas. Sneasler." or as she said. "Problem, whatever it is we can solve it together. We've done it before Big-D."
Big-D, her nickname for him because of his name Dominick, though the 'big' part she kept giggling about whenever he asked where she got the idea.
"Jessica... we're... in the 'present'... or 'future' for you." He whispered nervously. "This is where I'm from... you remember, I'm not 'from' Hisui I'm from... here."
At that Jessica was surprised as she looked around and saw to her amazement that he was telling the truth. She could see the village in the distance, she could see so much green, so much grass and habitation and everything else involving civilization.
"Sneeeeeasleeeeer, sneasler sneas, sneas sneeasler~!"She said in wonder. "Woooow, so this is your home, you have it made in this time period~!"
She laughed as she glanced at him.
"Sneasel sneas sneasler sneas~!" She chuckled with a grin. "I can't wait to see Irida's expression when we tell her~!"
He gulped at that, as he knew that something like this happening to them... might not happen 'again'. But he was afraid of how she was going to take it...
"Jessica... I don't know 'how' to get back... I don't think... there 'is' a going back again for me 'or' you..." He whispered nervously.
At that her grin began to fade, rapidly.
"Snea... Sneas... ler?" She asked fearfully. "You... you... mean?"
He didn't want to say it, wanting to try and give her hope to get home but... he could see comprehension in her eyes. Her claws began to hang as she looked around in a horrible realization of her situation.
"Sn-sne sneas... sneas ler sneasler, snea?" She asked hopefully, a single tear dripping from her eye. "Y-you have... there must be a way for me to get back, right?"
Dominick shook his head, not knowing any other way to say it, resulting in her last shred of hope vanishing as she fell to her knees, then kneeling to stare at the ground.
"Snea... sler... sneas... ler?" She whispered. "I'm... trapped... I can't... go home?"
She began sobbing in despair as she looked up at him, looking for comfort, which he gave, kneeling and hugging her close to him, allowing her to cry all of her tears into his shoulders. She wept, cried, sobbed, and wailed for a long time at the horrible realization that she was now just like him, trapped in a time period not her own. She didn't belong here but now she had no choice it seemed, but to live here. Her one solace, her one comfort, that he whispered to her, which he hoped eased her broken heart it seemed, was that he was there with her.
Hours later after Jessica had sobbed all she could, and when she told him that, she'd be fine, but he honestly doubted it, and he saw himself, walking down the road into town which attracted a lot of attention because of not only his getup but the Pokemon he was in company with. Weaver was a usual sight, so they all recognized the Weavile, but Jessica the Sneasler was outlandish in her appearance. She caught a ton of eyes, but she just kept her expression neutral, choosing to just follow him and Weaver, keeping eyes on the ground so she didn't have to look up.
At his old home, he met after 'six' years... his mother, and father who had left work when he was phoned about the news, and after many teary eyed 'welcome backs' and his mother holding him so tight he feard she'd break every bone in his body, he 'eventually' was able to explain what happened to him.
When the Space-Time Distortion occurred and he had been caught in it, and when it returned to normal, he had been pulled along with every Pokemon inside of it that came 'from' it, being pulled all the way back in time to when the Sinnoh region was known as Hisui. At first, he tried to find his way home, but despite following the same route he knew like the back of his hand, he was lost, both in space and time. He couldn't call for help because his phone had been destroyed, and all he had were the clothes on his back. He struggled to survive for two days, surviving off of what little fruit or berry bushes he could find that were safe, and drinking water from the river, but the Pokemon had been fierce, many tried to kill him.
Only by the graces of a Member of the Survey Corp of the Galaxy Expedition, the legendary 'savior' of the region, who had been sent to investigate a disturbance, did he find salvation. The Survey Corp explorer took pity on him, having also come from the future, and just like Dominick, they had no memory of who they were or where they came from, only that they didn't belong there either. Thankfully, they had a very good relationship with the Pearl Clan nearby, and after much explaining, and various promises Dominick had made, he was inducted into the Pearl Clan to help them out.
He sadly had lost 'most' of his memories during the trip to Hisui, so he didn't know anything more than a few details... his name, the name of a few key individuals in his life, and basic knowledge of Pokemon.
It took many months, but after months of working for the clan as a scavenger, going out and gathering various supplies that were needed for the settlement, he had grown accustomed to life in ancient Hisui. This was because while some people in Hisui had grown accustomed to Pokemon, many were still terrified of them, but he had been used to them already, and so was able to go out into the wilderness without much hesitation or fear.
That was when he became introduced to Jessica, the Sneasler, a species that was native 'to' Hisui or former Sinnoh, and who he explained was actually a 'Descendent' of a lineage of 'Noble Pokemon' in the Hisui Region, the two clans, Pearl and Diamond had Wardens whose job were to tend to their needs and take care of them, and the current Noble who was helping the Survey Corp Savior, was still young in her life and so wasn't ready to retire. After observing him for but a day and for some 'unknown' reason that she never quite divulged, even to her current Warden 'or' to the Savior, she left him the egg of her daughter. At first, he had thought it was a mistake, wondering how he could be seen as 'worthy' to take charge of a Noble Pokemon's youth, not only that but their 'first' offspring, but the Pearl Clan had deep respect for the Nobles. If Lady Sneasler had chosen him, she had her reasons, and she had chosen him to succeed her current Warden when her time came to step down from her Pillar.
And so, he took care of her, every day, day in and day out, tending to her needs, being her companion, showing her the world and helping her grow. They'd become very close friends, inseparable, working together for the Pearl Clan in the six years they lived in the settlement. Sometimes she got to spend time with her mother, sometimes she would wander alone, but he would always be there not too far away and she 'always' came back to him.
When asked why he named the Sneasler accompanying him Jessica, he simply told them, there was only one name besides Weaver that stayed with his memories, Jessica. He only remembered that she was his girlfriend, and so thinking he might never see her again, bestowed her name onto the Sneasler so that some 'small' part of his old life was there with him.
As for the giant basket he was carrying, that was a longer story...
Speaking of Jessica the Sneasler, when he got home, he had shown her his room after she asked where she could sit and rest... alone, while she came to terms with the fact that she was trapped in Sinnoh, like how Dominick had been trapped in Hisui. He kept glancing back, wondering how she was doing, hoping she was alright... and knowing that now she needed him to help her more than ever.
(Jessica's PoV)
She sat in her 'Warden's' room, just sitting there, cross legged on the floor, ignoring the bed in favor of her 'traditional' sitting position that they had back in their hut, back... in time.
She's trapped, in future Hisui, or Sinnoh as it was known... at first, she didn't know how to feel about it, hearing how her Warden was trapped in Hisui when he came from another region, she felt a little sad, but he seemed to have adjusted well enough by the time she hatched. Now their situations were reversed, she was trapped here, and he was back home, but now she had no way to go back home.
'I shouldn't have convinced him to enter that distortion... we didn't need to go in, we were just looking for medicinal herbs to trade.' She thought bitterly.
She glanced at her claws, her very sharp and very long claws, they were both her fingers and her weapons in battle, they were also her main tools for her main ability, rock climbing. She could climb the tallest mountain with no effort at all, she was strong, fast, and she was proud of her abilities. But now, all she wanted was to be back home.
She took a deep breath, folded her arms and focused her breathing to meditate and relax.
"So, you're a 'Sneasler' as Dominick said?"
She opened one eye to stare at the small creature that 'resembled' her but was very small compared to her.
"And what are you?" She countered.
"I'm a 'Weavile', but everyone calls me Weaver around the house." He said as he leapt onto the bed and flopped onto his belly, staring at her with a grin. "So, enjoying the future, way better than it is in the past right?"
Jessica frowned as she lazily took a swipe at him, sharp edges of her claws first, causing him to roll back in surprise as he was 'not' expecting that reaction from her.
"What was that for?" He screamed indignantly.
"Relax, it was only a swipe, not like I was aiming to hurt you." She grunted as she resumed her stance.
"Only a swipe, those claws are almost a third the length of my 'body'!"
"Then I guess you know how I feel about being in your time compared to mine..." She replied bitterly.
After about a minute of silence the Weavile slowly crept closer and stared at her some more. "So, listen, I heard from Dominick that, your species is apparently what I evolve into." He told her, and after she glanced at him with a raised eyebrow, he smirked and nodded. "Yep, I was a Sneasel too, but I evolved at night, became a Weavile, can't evolve in the day, so you're what I evolve into during the day apparently?"
She actually looked 'bewildered' at the little thing, this little Weavile is what her species evolved into during the night, instead of what she is now? But instead of responding, she just looked away, and thought about that, if Sneaslers weren't around in this time period... then that meant one thing, her kind was extinct, for all she knew she was the last of her kind. That thought raised another thougth, and she needed to know if it was true, and there was only one way to find out...
"Lord of the Plains, Wyrdeer..."
"Huh?" Weaver asked curiously.
"Lady of the Swamps, Ursaluna... Lord of the Skies, Braviary... Lady of the Ridge, Lilligant... Lord of the Woods, Kleavor... Lord of the Isles, Arcanine... Lord of the Tundra, Avalugg... Lord of the Seas, Basculegion... Lord of the Hollow, Electrode..." She said, hoping for a reaction. "Lady..."
She shook her head, unable to say the last one, knowing already that it was pointless.
"You don't even know who I'm talking about do you?"
"Uh, can't say I do, are they friends of yours? I know some of those names, Pokemon names, but others I can't place my claws on." Weaver said curiously.
She sniffled a little, a small part of her had been hoping that, maybe 'something' from the past still lingered here, but it seemed nought for the case. The Nobles, the most revered Pokemon of her time, Pokemon and their descendants from a noble lineage, renowned as Pokemon who received the blessings of Almighty Sinnoh itself. In each area of Hisui, not a 'single' human was unaware of their titles and names, they were worshiped, given offerings, taken care of... if he didn't even know of their names, that meant... they had been reduced to but a very distant memory, and forgotten perhaps, except in the yellowing pages of books. She was all that remained of their culture... her and... maybe her Warden Dominick as he was made an honorary member of the Pearl clan.
"It's nothing, forget about it..." She told him.
The Weavile continued trying to make small talk with her, but couldn't get another word after that, he asked questions, asked about those 'Lords and Ladys', asked what Sneasels were like in Hisui, asked what she did in the past, what kind of moves she used, but after a very long period of silence he got the hint that she didn't want to talk. When he got tired of talking to silence, he left the room to go downstairs to return to the family reunion, something about 'Dominick's Brother' being here to see him again.
Leaving her alone in the room to stare at the extremely 'barren' room. All that was in here was a bed, a few counters, a shelf, and a... 'thing' that blinked and glowed next to the bed with a bunch of numbers on it. Not seeing anything else to do, she just... sighed and grabbed the blanket from the bed and made herself a 'traditional' bedding spot from when she and Dominick were still in Hisui. She took the pillow as well, laid down on the floor and rested her head on her claws to sleep, but sleep did not come easily.
She just lay with her eyes half open, trying to will herself to sleep, but her body still refusing out of spite it felt. She just didn't feel comfortable sleeping here in this home, despite it being where her Warden came from, she just... felt out of place.
Hours later, well into the night, the door creaked open, and she heard gentle footsteps tiptoeing into the room. She then felt another blanket placed over her and felt someone laying down beside her. She rolled over to watch her Warden lie beside her, looking exhausted, her carrying basket sitting in the corner of the room, the 'supplies' they'd been sent out to find lying in a little heap nearby and Dominick settling in for the night.
"Are you holding up well?" He asked her quietly.
She shook her head and rolled on her side, looking away from her Warden. She was grateful that he chose to sleep with her like they always did, but she also knew that he probably would be more comfortable on the much softer bed, then still lying on the hard flooring with only a blanket to help him. Then she felt him stroking the side of her cheek, causing her to purr in comfort, as that was her favorite spot to be petted when they were in private. She was a Noble Pokemon, Heir to her mother's legacy, so she had an image to keep up, but in private she always acted like a spoiled Sneasler and 'melted' into his touches.
"I know it's not what you wanted, and to be honest I really had hoped you didn't follow me." He told her, making her glance at him to see his apologetic expression. "Even though I'm back... I feel like a complete stranger in someone else's, I don't know any of these people besides the fact that they're my family. I still don't remember anything about... who I was before or what I was like before I left. A part of me even wishes we were still in Hisui, at least then I knew who I was and what I was doing, here I... don't know anymore."
He then looked into her with his eyes, his beautiful eyes that comforted her spirit and reminded her that, no matter where they were, he was her Warden, and she was his charge.
"At least I know who you are." She said with a smirk.
He chuckled as he knew what she was saying, they were that close as partners to be able to understand each other. "Yea, I'm still Warden in Training Dominick... and you're still my Lady in Training, daughter of the Noble Pokemon, Sneasler."
She nodded in gratitude as he turned on his side and began drifting off to sleep, while she did the same, they had a lot of catching up to do.
The next several days passed with mostly her choosing to reside in his room as she had nothing else to do really, and she basically ordered him to learn more about his past life. The first major chuckle she had was the fact that the Weavile was 'surprised' to find out that Dominick was up at Dawn's First Light, or as he said, 'the crack of dawn'. She countered saying, "What other time is he supposed to wake up, we can't waste any daylight hours on trivial things!"
Apparently, Dominick 'before' he came to Hisui was a late riser, waiting as long as possible to wake up, a habit he broke very quickly because of his duties he was told to take on by Irida. Thinking of Irida brought a smile to her face as she recalled her memories of the Pearl Clan Leader. That strong personality she portrayed upfront with her interactions to make her fellow Pearl Clan members view her as strong, but the childish naivety she portrayed when she showed doubt about her own actions always reared itself. She would scold him so many times, sometimes even smacking him on the head as they knew he couldn't retaliate against her, both because she was the Leader of the clan, and she was a lady. Oh, the stories she could share, especially when Dominick started his Warden Training for when she inevitably took over her mother's seat.
But, thinking of Irida brought a frown to her face as she remembered, at this time, she probably would have been chewing him out again because... of course, he forgot to take 'her' with him, and especially her carrying basket and the Celestica flute he'd been gifted to summon her to him. She pictured it, even now... thinking about their 'disappearance' back in Hisui, the Pearl clan leader going hysterical trying to find them. She could see Irida in her tent, organizing search parties, getting the Galaxy Expedition to help her, and even going to the Diamond Clan leader Adaman for his clan's help finding the daughter of one of her clan's Noble Pokemon, despite having moved on from their past feuds over who truly worshiped Almighty Sinnoh. She could even picture her mother... searching high and low, climbing every mountain, every cliff, every boulder and tree... anything with the aid of the Savior of Hisui, trying to find her precious first daughter.
True... she never talked much or spent much time with her mother, a visit here or there, but... she knew deep down her mother loved her, and obviously trusted Dominick with her upbringing and care.
So, she sat in silence, trying to keep to memory 'everything' of the past so that no matter what her heritage would not be forgotten.
That was when she heard the door opening and looked up from her meditative pose to see who was walking in and saw that it was her Warden. At first, she smiled and waved hello, but her smile faltered as she saw him looking depressed.
"What's wrong?" She asked him.
He just took off the straw hat he was wearing, sat down crossed legged on the blankets which had become their bed, ignoring the 'real' bed entirely, and just breathed a deep sigh. He looked at her and shook his head, before whispering, "I wish we were back in Hisui... I don't... want to be here... anymore." in a heartbroken tone.
She tilted her head as she crawled to sit in front of him, curious as to why he no longer wished to be where he came from.
"So... you know how I call you Jessica, even though everyone else called you Sneasler?" He asked, to which she nodded.
In private he always called her Jessica, but in public she was 'Lady-in-Training, Sneasler', everyone referred to her only as Miss Sneasler or the with title 'Lady-in-Training'. But when they were alone and out in the wild doing various tasks for the Pearl Clan, whether it was him gathering materials to trade or her training on the more 'violent' Pokemon near the settlement, she was Jessica. When asked why he called her that, he told her that she reminded him a little of 'Jessica', a girl he was dating and whom he'd left behind when he was pulled into Hisui. She treasured that name, as names were 'very' important to humans.
So, when she accepted the name of Jessica, she swore an oath as a Noble Pokemon, to keep in her heart the importance he placed on that name, because he would 'never' give it to just anyone, human or Pokemon.
"Yea... well I found out that... Jessica, my girl... my... 'ex' girlfriend... was still here." He whispered.
She went wide eyed before frowning in sorrow for his loss. She got up and sat cross-legged next to him, wrapping her arm around him to comfort him.
"I... went to her... asked around to... find her, to try and... talk to her, learn about what happened and learn about 'us' and..." He whispered before he sniffled and shook his head. "I just... I know it was dumb to think she'd... still be waiting for me but... I clung to hope that I would see her again and maybe, just maybe..." He sniffled again as she patted his shoulder. "She got married, she waited for months hoping I'd come back, she called and called, but I never responded she said. Then she met a guy right after graduating, they hit it off right away and just... six months later she got married to him. She even has two children with him and..."
At that point she could just 'feel' his hurt, she remembered hearing about his now 'ex' girlfriend, whom she was named after. He told stories of how cute she was, how fun she was to be with, how he was hoping to see her again, even years after accepting he was trapped forever in Hisui. He swore if he got back, he'd propose to Jessica, if she still was there, joking how he wanted 'five' kids now with her and how he was going to even build a big fancy home with his own hands to impress her.
"She was happy I was back... but... that's it, I lost my girlfriend... six months was all it took for her to get married, I was with her a 'year', and I was just waiting until I was settled to propose." He told her quietly. "Gets worse... after I came back home... I was approached by a school agent, someone from human resources, and he explained that since I had returned, my college was going to start 'billing' me again... even if I didn't finish my education, I still had a debt owed. It was left ignored because I had supposedly 'died', but now that I'm..." He looked at her with almost 'dead' eyes, eyes filled with so little hope that she was afraid for him now. "I owe... over... half a million in college fees... I took out a few college loans to pay for my tuition, but those loans came with interest rates... that started stacking and 'kept' stacking every month after I went missing. I don't even remember what I was studying to become, and I owe..."
That really shocked her, she knew humans used money, heck the Galaxy Expedition team used money and so did the Pearl and Pearl clans. But a value that high was unimaginable. The worst debt he ever had was like five hundred because he made a mistake in letting her do her own thing and wandered into a field filled with sleeping Carnivines alone. He lost 'all' of the valuable Black Tumblestones and Iron Ores that the mining crew harvested to trade 'before' he could reach Jubilife Village. The scolding he got from Irida that day lasted 'five' hours into the night. He 'eventually' paid his debt, took him three months, but he still paid it back, but... this debt, buying mining tools from Lian to harvest Tumblestones and dig for Iron Ore wouldn't be enough to pay this debt back.
"Jessica... I don't know what I'm going to do... my parents can't possibly pay my bill, and I can't remember anything about what I was 'before'. I can't even sell the items that I brought with me from Hisui, it's all worthless. I don't have anything to sell to even pay off a 'portion' because my parents sold all of my belongings already. What... what am I going to do?" He cried sadly. "I lost my memories, my girlfriend, my life... I have nothing left!"
She purred sadly, before she pulled him into her and hugged him close, wrapping her arms around him to comfort him. She didn't even care that his face was even buried in her chest, her soft fur covering her flat breasts and disguising them from view. He knew she was a girl, so she didn't care. Besides her Warden was in deep distress and he needed 'all' of the affection and comfort he could get.
Time had moved on without either of them it seemed, her traditions, her fellow nobles, their lineages and the culture of the Pearl and Diamond Clans forgotten and but a distant memory of the past. Dominick's old life had vanished, his friends and even girlfriend had moved on, and he had nothing left to lean on or help carry him forward into the future. Both of them were out of time, trapped in a place they no longer belonged in.
"What do we do now... Jessica?" He asked her as he pulled away.
She looked around the room before she looked at him with a confident smile. "We'll do what we've always done, we'll solve this problem, 'together' Big-D." She said while posing her claws.
He closed his eyes and nodded in agreement, a small smile creeping onto his face. "Yea, we'll solve it together... but again 'what' do we do, I have to pay so much money back and..."
She watched as he glanced behind her and over to where her carrying basket was still sitting, and then she saw his eyes begin shifting in deep thought, and she smirked as she knew that look all too well. He always had that look when he was brainstorming a plan. She wasn't a big planner, no, she was more the 'action', he was the human with the 'big human brain' as some Pokemon like to say. She let him handle the complicated stuff while she took care of the simple stuff.
"Wait... if I remember, Evolution Stones were extremely valuable in Hisui... and if I remember from asking around, those same Evolution Stones would 'still' be valuable even in this time. Those Tumblestones were always found all over the place, but we often found the best ones that had evolution stones in the Coronet Highlands. We still have those Mining Tools that Liam sold me, so with some luck... maybe we can harvest some stones to sell."
She nodded in agreement, they had a plan now, so with that the two of them began planning what they were going to do. Dominick pulled out a map from a book of the region and compared it to his knowledge of the region when he was in Hisui. The Coronet Highlands as they were called back then, or whatever Route number they referred to the roads around or through Mt. Coronet, were still familiar territory to him so he knew they wouldn't get lost. After that he stockpiled some food for her and him for the trip, wrote a note saying where he was going with Jessica, and then they got an early night's rest for the journey.
In bed however, she looked at her Warden with a worried expression. He'd been dealt a horrible hand in life, and now being back in his own time only made it worse. But at least he had her to lean on now, and she was going to carry out her duty as a Noble Pokemon, regardless of the time period she was in. She was the last of the Nobles, she had to start acting like one.
But...
She turned on her side and smiled softly at his cute face, before snuggling into his shoulder, leaning close to him and just enjoying his warmth under the blanket. He was a cute human to her, and she was glad that her mother entrusted her wellbeing to him.
'Sleep well my Warden, we have much work ahead of us.' She thought happily, before falling asleep.
(Dominick's PoV)
The next day he and Jessica woke up at the first light of dawn, he did a quick stretch, took a shower, after remembering how the bathroom shower worked, and finished wrapping up all of his supplies for the journey to the Coronet Highlands. Once that was all done, he and Jessica left home, making sure the note was sitting on the table for his parents, and they began their long journey.
"Well at least it won't take us as long to reach the Highlands thanks to all of the roads and routes they established in this time Jessica, so that will save us some time." He told her as they walked, his back carrying their supplies in her basket.
"Sneas..." She said warmly, walking beside him with a swagger in her steps. "Yep..."
"Weeeeeavile..." Weaver complained from his back as well.
After he woke up and was beginning to leave, Weaver had asked to follow as well, and so he walked with both his dad's Weavile and his Lady-in-Training Jessica. He also took the Weavile's Pokeball so that he could carry him in it if needed, but the Weavile was 'not' a morning Pokemon. While he and Jessica had been wide awake at the first light of dawn before even getting ready, the Weavile was 'still' sluggish and half asleep even after they started walking.
The Weavile was insistent on tagging along, after believing he had failed to save Dominick six years ago, he refused to let the same thing happen again. He was going to follow Dominick to make sure he was safe and sound if he was going out anywhere beyond the borders of the town.
Of course, this meant he was 'not' a morning Pokemon, so he was dead tired, being so used to waking up late over the years.
"We have a lot of travel time ahead of us Weaver, that's why we have to be up so early, don't worry, we should reach where we're going by about sunset if not earlier."
"Weeeeav? Viiiile..." Weaver asked incredulously.
"Oh, this isn't that bad, why back in Hisui we had to walk from the Pearl Settlement to the Diamond Settlement, then finally to Jubilife Village, before going back to the Diamond Settlement and FINALLY getting home to the Pearl Settlement, how long did that take us on average, seven days?" He asked Jessica.
"Sneasler sneas~!" She responded, flexing the claws on her left hand to count. "More like nine~!"
"Oh yea, nine... yea because I had to adjust our route to avoid all of the Alpha Pokemon we kept encountering, and those three bandit sisters who kept trying to steal our stuff, and the constant 'rebuilding' of temporary paths like bridges over rivers... being snowed in and having to wait out blizzards and massive thunderstorms. Hey, you remember that one time where we got stuck in a small cave with no fire and had to wait out a freezing blizzard in the Alabaster Icelands with only our body heat to keep warm?"
Jessica snickered as she also remembered that time, truth be told she was perfectly fine with the cold, but she insisted on holding him close to her so 'he' didn't freeze.
They kept on walking with Weaver nodding off every so often, waking up when he stumbled slightly or adjusted the giant basket. Eventually he asked if Weavile wanted to sleep in his ball while they travelled and Weaver accepted, being pulled into it. While they travelled, he and Jessica continued to catch the eyes of random people, whether it be on the road or passing by various towns on the way to Mt. Coronet.
He just felt like he was very out of place, with his Pearl Clan uniform, straw hat, loose Lopunny fur coated sandals, and of course his giant carrying basket on his back. Jessica meanwhile just walked on, ignoring the looks of onlookers as she walked alongside him, towering him in height and her long feather-like extension curling and waving behind her while her gauntlet like hands and long-sharp claws swayed with every step. She was just as outlandish as he was in this modern time, wearing traditional Hisuian outfits and acting in traditional ways as they walked. At one point someone asked what weird 'stunt' he was trying to promote, and someone else asked about the Pokemon he was walking with, asking what region they came from, but they ignored them and walked on. Eventually they just ignored all towns and even cities in general.
While they walked alone together, he got the chance to talk to his Noble, Jessica, and ask her a few questions.
"So, Jessica, does... Sinnoh still feel like Hisui... even a little?"
Jessica looked at him before glancing around and shaking her head a little. "Sneasler... sneas..." she replied. "Everything feels off... certain sights feel the same but, they just aren't."
He nodded, it was the same for him, but this was both familiar and foreign to him, it was a strange feeling. He came from this place, but at the same time he remembered it as if seeing two different places that were the same. It was like staring into a mirror, it was the same thing he was seeing but it was reversed.
"Sneasler?" She asked. "Dominick?"
He looked at her and saw her looking sadly at her claws, before looking to him with a tiny, hopeful smile.
"Sneasler... sneas... sneasler sneas?" She asked him. "Be honest... are there... any of the 'other' noble's descendants here?"
He closed his eyes, looked away, and shook his head. He'd never even heard of these 'noble Pokemon' in his schools, so if anyone did remember them, they were either as myths and stories or they were as memories found only in him and Jessica.
"Sneas... Sneasler." Then she said sadly, looking up at the sky, "Sneasler, sneas sneasler?" which he translated to, "I see... I figured so." and, "So, I'm the last Noble?"
"Don't worry Jessica, I'll do my very best to care for you, I'll do everything in my power to ensure your legacy is preserved, our history, our culture, I won't let the past we lived in be lost." he told her sternly. "I'm still a member of the Pearl Clan, I still revere and worship you as one of our clan's Nobles, even in this time period. I promise, no matter what I have to do, I won't let who 'we' are disappear."
Jessica looked at him, before smiling happily with a twinkle in her eyes, nodding in acceptance and leaning down to nuzzle his cheek in gratitude. With that they kept going, sometimes talking about random things, or just whatever was on their minds.
"You know, this area looks like that one place where we got attacked by a pack of Luxrays, you remember?"
"Sneeeeasler sneeas... sneasler sneas sneas sneasler?" She giggled. "Yeaaa I remember... if I recall you ran like a scared Starly and hid in grass where one of them did their business?"
"Hehehehyea... smelliest escape of my life... I had to bathe and change my clothes, so Irida never found out about the smell when I went to meet her..." He muttered quietly. "I really hope she never found out... she chewed me out for forgetting to call upon you to help me."
They stopped at a clearing to eat around midday, with him releasing Weaver so that they could eat food before continuing their journey. Of course, they had to perform their daily 'meal prayer', thanking Almighty Sinnoh and Lord Palkia, before they could eat which took some time, something that confused Weaver greatly.
"Alright dig in!" He said happily as he and Jessica instantly started digging into their meal.
Weaver looked at their food with a slight look of disdain, as their meal consisted of three loaves of bread, a few assortments of berries, and three portions of cooked fillet Basculin meat on tiny spits.
"Wea... vile?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yep, eat up, we won't be able to eat again until tomorrow morning!" Dominick said cheerfully as he chewed on his food.
Weaver just pouted as he took his share and chowed down, his face didn't show much like for what he was eating, meaning that while he didn't mind it wasn't something he was thrilled to eat. He knew it was because it was barely salted and only cooked over a quickly made open fire, but they didn't have the time to cook a more elaborate meal before they had to move again.
"Not too bad right?" He asked the Weavile, trying to add a positive spin to it. "You should have seen me cooking before, I barely knew how to make anything."
"Sneasler sneas sneas!" Jessica replied with a smile, happily plopping her last berry into her mouth before starting on her loaf of bread. "This is what he calls Gourmet Cooking!"
Weaver just sighed as he ate his meal, quickly gobbling it down fairly quickly as it wasn't exactly as much as he normally ate, especially in the day. He hadn't eaten breakfast since they all left 'before' his parents even woke up, so Dominick knew he was going to be a little grouchy when it came to eating, but he and Jessica were used to this. At most they only ever had one meal a day when not in the Pearl Settlement, and they often just ate whatever snack berries or fruits they found while travelling to supplement their few meals.
After their quick meal they resumed traveling again, with Jessica strolling beside him, keeping her eyes out for danger while Weaver sat on the basket.
"We actually made some good progress; I can almost see the Coronet Highlands from here." He said as he looked off into the distance.
"Snea! Sneasler sneas..." Jessica said as she nodded. "Yep! Home sweet home..."
"Weav vile we?" Weaver asked curiously.
"I'm guessing you're asking why we keep calling that area the Coronet Highlands?" He asked, which Weaver nodded. "You see Weaver, that's what they were called in Hisui... I had to learn a lot of each of the various areas in Hisui, or 'Sinnoh' as it's called now. Mt. Coronet and the area around it were called the Coronet Highlands."
"Weaaav..." Weaver said with a nod of understanding.
"Hopefully we can mine a few stones or ores from Mt. Coronet, and if so, we can sell them and use the money to help pay off my huge debt." He said as they kept walking.
"Weav... vile weav?"
"I think you're asking why I don't just complete my degree or get a job?" He asked, again to which Weaver nodded. "If I go back, I'll have to take more loans, borrow money I don't have, get 'more' debt, and to be honest I do not even remember what I was trying to do before I found myself in Hisui. I need to use the skills I learned back then to help my situation here; I learned how to harvest materials, scavenge goods and mine stones and ores with the aid of Jessica. This is the quickest way, and the only way I know will work for us."
After that they just walked in silence, Weaver occasionally looking around for threats while still sitting on the basket's back, something that irked Jessica a little he noticed. She always kept glancing at him and giving him the silent glare before looking away. This also did not go unnoticed by Weaver, who seemed fully aware that she was looking at him in frustration, but they said nothing to each other.
When night came, they found a small river which fed into the main river that passed through the area 'to' Mt. Coronet. He told them they would sleep there till morning and then make their way up the high cliffs of Mt. Coronet in search of mineable ores or stones. Accepting his decision without question, Jessica nodded and helped remove his giant basket and reached in for their bedding while Weaver looked around real quick.
When he finished scouting around and found nothing that might threaten them, he came back and looked 'astonished' to see him and Jessica already starting to lie down on a set of stacked towels covered in a bedsheet, and with only a blanket and pillows for comfort.
"Wea vile weav?" He asked incredulously.
"Hmm, what's wrong with our little campsite?" He asked the Weavile while Jessica scowled at him.
"Weavile weavile weav!"
"Sneas, sneasler sneeas sneas sneasler, sneasler sneasler sneas slersneas!." Jessica grunted with a roll of her eyes. "A tent, we don't have space in the basket to waste on a tent, this is all we need to sleep through the night outdoors!"
He nodded in agreement. "Yea, when we were traveling, we didn't have the luxury of a tent for camping, it attracted wild Pokemon, so we only used a simple futon bed designed to used outdoors. That and the basket had to carry all of our belongings and we didn't want the extra weight if it wasn't needed." He explained. "This was the best I could manage in such short time."
"Weav vile weav vile weave!" Weaver asked as he pointed at the sky.
"Sneasler sneeeease..." Jessica grunted. "It won't rain..."
"Yea, we got very good at reading the weather patterns in the day while out in the wild, it won't rain for another day at minimum." He said simply. "Come on Weaver, we need to sleep, we have a lot of work tomorrow and we'll need all the rest we can get."
The Weavile naturally looked exacerbated as he slouched his shoulders before 'begrudgingly' climbing into the bed, curling up and falling asleep. It was a tight fit with all three, but they made it work, Jessica laying on her side while keeping her ears peeled in the night while she slept.
(Jessica's PoV)
Instinctively she felt herself stirring awake as she felt morning come, and yawned to get up, next to her Dominick also started to stir and she heard him yawning. They quickly started getting up, stretching and getting ready to leave that morning. He quickly unpacked their breakfast, bread lathered in Oran Berry Juice Rawst Berry Jam. When Weaver was forced to wake up, she had to avoid glaring daggers and yelling at the Weavile to hurry up and stop wasting their time.
"It's the crack of dawn... why do we have to be up so early?" He complained.
"You are lucky we aren't from the Diamond Clan, or else we'd give you an earful about not wasting 'time'." She told the Weavile. "We have cliffs to climb, ores to find and stones to mine, we can't waste time sleeping in. There's a lot of space to cover and only so much daylight to spend."
"But what about breakfast?" Weaver asked as Dominick started handing out breakfast to them. "T-this is 'breakfast'?"
"Eat up guys, I made this before we left, it was a good thing my parents had some of the ingredients at home, I always looked forward to eating this in the mornings."
"You cannot be serious, where's the bacon and eggs?"
"Yep, this is breakfast, so dig in." She said as she ate her food. "We can't waste our resources on what we don't need, this will suffice until midday."
"T-this is 'not' breakfast, this is just a snack!" Weaver complained after Dominick finished his food and she finished hers.
"You are 'so' spoiled, back in Hisui this kept us going all day until nighttime, we sufficed on 'snacks' during the day while walking from settlement to settlement, sometimes we had to hunt Magikarps just to survive when the berries were already picked clean by wild Pokemon!" She told the Weavile, getting really annoyed at him.
It was obvious that while he still had a 'fighter's' spirit in his core, he didn't have a 'survivor's' personality or mentality. He was used to being a 'pet', getting all of his food without much effort, sleeping in comfort, lazing about. That alone was getting on her nerves, he was so insistent on trying to protect his precious Dominick, treating him like a little boy, thinking he needed to be kept safe, when he was a very responsible Warden to her. Meanwhile she and Dominick had spent over five years together slugging it out in the wild day after day, only having 'comfort' when they were in the Pearl Settlement and given time off, and even then, they had chores to do 'every single day'.
"We ate this every morning and didn't get anything else while traveling till midday or later except for those 'snacks' you call this. If you wanna starve, fork it over and Dominick and I will split it in half. I wouldn't mind a little extra."
Weaver glared daggers at her before bitterly munching on his food, something that she took a little delight in as Dominick was rolling up their bedding to travel. After everything was done the sun started to rise and they started making their way to the stone cliffs of the area. She could see in the distance the many cliffs of what she knew as The Coronet Highlands. Seeing them made her smile, at least 'these' hadn't changed much. The many cliffs, rocky plateaus, various ridges and especially Mt. Coronet itself was a welcome sight to behold.
'It's almost like I'm home again...' She thought privately as they marched on.
They had made record time, this trip would have taken them about two or so days of hard walking if they could go straight there, but of course on average they spent about four days. While she knew she had to eventually stay there for much longer terms so as to fulfill her duty as 'Lady' of the area, acting as a Noble Pokemon, she preferred to travel with Dominick and enjoyed spending time with him.
After about two more hours of walking to find a suitable spot to start climbing these cliffs, Dominick told both of them what their tasks were going to be. Before they climbed though, they did their usual Pearl Prayer, which basically was just them spending a minute while they thanked Almighty Palkia for the space they shared with the others of this world.
"Alright, Jessica, you know what we're looking for, Weaver, I know you're a former Gym Pokemon, so I need you to help protect us while we're climbing." He told them.
"Protect us?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yep, since Jessica can't protect herself while she is busy climbing." Dominick explained as he opened the basket and Jessica held it steady for him.
She held the basket still while he slowly climbed in, having done this hundreds of times, so many that she lost count. Once he was inside and had adjusted everything around inside so that he could sit comfortably, as well as reach his mining tools, he nodded, and she closed it up with the lid. After a moment he slid open a little window inside of it and they could see his eyes looking out of the opening. It was very dark inside the basket, so all they could see were the reflections coming from his eyes. After he was settled into place she turned around, knelt and slid the straps of the basket over her shoulder, clipped the harness so it was secured, and then walked over to the rocky cliffs before them. Looking over at the Weavile she raised her eyebrows and nodded to the basket.
"Hop on 'little guy'." She told him with a smirk.
Weaver rolled his eyes and leapt onto the basket, using his own claws to secure himself to the top of it, and once he was in place she reached up, sunk her gripping claws into the rock, and began to climb. She had to go a little slower than she usually did, as despite being accustomed to Dominick's weight and the weight of the basket's contents, the Weavile kind of threw her off at first. Still, she sank her claws into the rock, climbed with her feet, and made quick time. Just as before, she felt like she was at home once again, she climbed as naturally on that mountainside cliff as if she had done it thousands of times, as easily as if she were breathing.
"Whoaaa..."
She glanced behind her, not needing to focus 'entirely' on climbing upward, her body was running on automatic, so it knew exactly how to act so they didn't slip or fall. Weaver the Weavile was staring down below them as she climbed the cliffside with no effort, already they were climbing over a hundred feet from where they had been standing.
"How's it feel to be climbing a mountain thanks to your 'distant ancestor'?" She asked him with a grin.
"Do you 'always' do this, I didn't know you could climb a mountain with such ease!"
"Heh, this is nothing, you should see my mother, the Lady of..." She started saying before she cut herself off.
Weaver looked at her, but she shook her head and focused on climbing again, picking up her pace and ignoring his question. They reached a small plateau, and she climbed up and onto solid ground, before walking along it toward the next cliff face. Once there she rinsed and repeated, hooking her claws into the rock, leveraged her feet so that she was set, and up she went.
Reach, sink, climb, reach, sink, climb.
They climbed for another half hour, until she spotted a few Ore Deposits jutting out of the rock. They were a little different than in her time, a lot less noticeable and a little lacking in coloring then she remembered, but they were still there, though... not in as high numbers as in her time. It was obvious these were mined heavily over the years, so only a few had regrown. Finding enough to harvest materials to sell would be hard... but this was her territory, she would find those Ore Deposits for him however she must.
"Hey, I found some!" She called out as she began climbing over to them.
"Got it!" Dominick called from inside the basket.
After she climbed to a good spot, she carefully angled and positioned herself so that the basket's opening would be positioned exactly next to the ore. Once there she hollered that she was ready, and the basket opened. "It's not big, but it's something... let's see what we find!" Dominick called as he pulled out a few chisels and hammers.
He hammered away and chipped away at the ore, breaking it apart to find the valuable stuff inside of the deposit, breaking it apart for whatever was inside of it. In these Ore Deposits lay valuable 'Tumblestones', at least they were, but the few stones he had tried to sell were worthless at the market in his hometown. But, after chiseling and hammering using the tools that Liam gave him, she watched him break down the ore to its base and found...
"Sweet, Iron Ore... and even a water stone!" He proclaimed as he broke out the valuable goods. "This will work... alright, next one Jessica!"
She nodded and waited until he'd stashed himself, the tools, and their findings in the basket before he closed the lid. Once he was secured, she started climbing to the next deposit. All the while Weaver was looking around for potential threats. The next ore deposit yielded little, a few Iron Ores, but it was something. The third one they found after much searching was also the same, nothing much, but at least it yielded a Thunder Stone.
"There's not much nearby... we'll have to search higher." Dominick said as he counted what he found.
She nodded in agreement, the pickings were few and far between, nothing down here this low on the mountain besides those few little ore deposits. Miners have been picking and harvesting them for years, and since 'they' had the advantage of modern equipment and numbers, they left little for her and Dominick. It honestly sickened her, she thought to herself as she began climbing again, trying to find 'something'. This used to be her mother's territory, the Pearl clan would have 'never' let people just greedily mine out the sacred mountain of Almighty Sinnoh to this extent. Even the Diamond Clan would have stopped it. Her Mother and Lord Electrode had the final say over who could harvest what, they'd trusted the clans, so they didn't mind but...
'Doesn't matter now...' She thought while hopping over another plateau and running to another cliff face.
Higher they climbed, until they were now almost halfway up the mountain, the air began to get slightly thinner, she knew that the highest point, the Temple of Sinnoh, was the last place they could reach where the air would still be breathable. But it was here at this point up the mountain that she finally noticed more ore deposits sticking out of the rocks, making it easier to find stuff.
They found a few Black Ore Deposits, a few Blue Ore Deposits, and they started to find some good items now. After harvesting the deposits, they looked over their haul on solid ground. "Not bad... twelve evolutions stones, about twenty deposits of Iron Ore." Dominick proclaimed. "I think that's all we can harvest today, but it's starting to get late, so I say we use the little daylight we have to climb down and find a spot to sleep."
Both she and Weaver nodded as he climbed into the basket, locked the lid into place, and then she picked it up and started the climb down.
"Breeeee!"
Instantly all of them looked at the source of the sound, a pair of what looked like Braviaries were flying toward them, screaming a battle cry as they charged at them from the skies. Both flew past them without taking a swipe, but she knew that was only a warning, they were already turning around and making another run.
"Take this!" Weaver yelled as he coated his claws in ice and started flinging it at the bird Pokemon. "You want some of this, then have some more!"
She groaned inwardly as the Braviaries were forced to split up and were pushed away, but Weaver's challenge and attacks made their attackers cause her to have to make tiny leaps and jumps to the sides to avoid being hit by their sharp talons and beaks, and even their wings as they switched attack patterns. All the while she was having an argument with said Weavile for his poor protection attempts.
"If you're going to fight, will you land a 'hit' already, you're making them target me!" She screamed as she 'climbed' to avoid one slicing into her legs.
"I'd land a hit if you held 'still'!" He snarled back.
"You couldn't hit the belly of a sleeping Alpha Snorlax!" She countered after she had to take a desperate swipe to try and ward one away.
Weaver just leapt up and used a powerful slash of dark energy from his claws, smacking one of the birds and injuring it, but that only seemed to anger it as it flew backward, before flying 'forward' to attack them.
"Are you a fighter or are you just trying to get them angrier at us!" She yelled.
"I'm trying to 'not' hurt you or Dominick!" He countered now.
"He's safe in the basket, your job is to protect 'me'!"
"You expect a 'basket' to keep him safe from these flyers?" Weaver complained.
She ducked and held the cliff with one claw as she tried to keep their attackers away, 'while' keeping the basket still so Weaver wasn't accidentally flung off, all the while Dominick inside of the basket was getting dizzy from their constant moving.
"Guys can you please stop arguing and focus... I'm losing what's left of breakfast in here... and there isn't a lot of room in here to begin with."
She looked down and then at the Braviaries, before she growled in frustration and a roll of her eyes. Then she used her free arm to grab Weaver, held him tightly under her arms, and let go of her grip on the mountain by jumping away and letting gravity take them all the way down.
"Whoaaaaaaaa!"
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
She just remained focused as she watched the ground below speeding toward them, feeling the wind in her fur and especially her ear extension as it fluttered violently in the wind, angling her feet the entire time and flexing her claws in her remaining climbing hand before she saw her moment. Just over fifty feet from the ground below, she reached over and latched onto the mountain, bringing their momentum to a sudden stop. So that they weren't harmed, she swung herself 'into' the mountain with the last of their movements and used her feet to brace and stop them safely. In an instant she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Good save..." Dominick whispered in the basket.
"Yea... but next time warn us you're going to do that?" Weaver complained as he looked at her. "You almost got us killed!"
She grunted in response and tossed him on the basket lid, before climbing down the rest of the way. After they were on solid ground, she undid the basket latch, took it off and helped Dominick out so they could eat an early dinner before going to bed. Dinner was eaten without much chatter, Jessica angrily avoiding talking to the Weavile. Dominick said they could go to bed early, but she proclaimed she needed a bit of time to herself and told her Warden she'd be back in ten minutes.
After she left, she wandered toward a river and took a deep sigh of air, before staring at it. She calmed herself down, focused her mind, focused herself as she listened to the sounds around her.
She could hear footsteps and flapping of wings, several Pokemon were around her, one pair in particular that she growled to herself when she recognized them, wishing they would go away. She listened as Weaver walked over to her, not really trying to hide himself in the wild.
"How's it going, Dominick asked me to see if you were uh, okay?"
She grunted in response and said, "I need to meditate for a moment, that is why I left, so go back and tell my Warden I am fine."
"Look, he just wanted me to make sure you were alright, alright, Dominick just asked me to make sure you're fine and in case you needed someone to watch your back." Weaver muttered with a glare. "If this is about what happened back up on the mountain, look I'm used to fighting on flat ground, not a moving platform!"
"And I'm not used to dealing with someone who can't seem to listen to the role they are given, and trust someone to do their job while they do theirs!" She snapped as she turned around. "You were tasked to protect me while I climbed, but instead of trusting me to keep us all 'safe' from falling, you had to force 'me' to protect all of us!"
"All of us, if I didn't do what I was doing, Dominick would have been injured, he might have died after a fall from that height, you couldn't have-"
"I have kept Dominick safe, on my own, for the past 'six' years, a lot of that time was spent inside of that basket you believed was incapable of protecting him, and 'without' fighting back! You should have trusted me, my knowledge and my experience with these cliffs to ensure we would be safe from falling. All you had to do was scare them off and make them think we weren't worth the trouble, instead you had to try and challenge them! Braviary take 'challenges' to it as a sign of battle, all you had to do was make them realize we were not worthy to fight!" She yelled in frustration. "If you had pretended to feebly swipe at them, make them think we weren't worth the trouble, they would have seen us as not worth their time, instead you acted like a battle heartened 'veteran' and so they didn't care about injuries in favor of the glory and honor of battle."
"And how would you know that?" Weaver countered angrily.
"Because that's how they were in 'my' time, and in the hundreds if not thousands of years since they evolved into 'that' form now, they appear to have not changed in their behaviors!" She yelled.
Suddenly a Staraptor flew from a tree and screeched a battle cry, aiming directly for Jessica. Weaver tried to warn her, even creating an Ice Shard on his claws, but she had already sprung, swiped with her claws and struck the bird dead center, gripped it in the same motion and flung it into the ground with enough force that if she had wanted to, she could have broken its wings. Instead, she had struck the bird with her poison that coursed through its body, resulting in it suffering temporary paralysis. She then stood up, made a sign using her claws, thanking it for the battle, before whispering in the language of Hisui an apology for injuring it so. After she had finished, she walked over to a tree and smacked it, causing a few Oran Berries to fall, and after gathering a few, carefully sliced them so they could be eaten.
Once she was done, she helped feed the bird, telling it that the paralysis was only temporary, and apologizing for the noise which angered it, insisting she meant no harm. After she had performed her duties as a Noble Pokemon, she scooped up the bird, gently stroking its feathers, again in apology, before climbing its tree with one claw and gently placing it back in its nest, where she saw several eggs. She whispered again, her sorrow for injuring it, insisting that the paralysis would be gone by morning, and wishing it a safe sleep for the night. Only 'after' that was all done, did she glare and walk up to Weaver.
"I am a daughter of one of the 'ten' Lords and Ladies of Hisui, one of the heirs to the ten thrones of the region. Our bloodlines are blessed by the gifts of Almighty Sinnoh, we have in our possession, powers given by the almighty one. It is my 'DUTY' to protect and watch over these cliffs... this is 'my' domain." She whispered malevolently, trying to get it into his head as quietly as possible so she didn't disturb any other Pokemon. "I have protected Dominick and he has taken care of me, for 'six' years. That basket keeps him safe from harm, so that 'he' never gets hurt... I have been injured many times carrying him up and down these cliffs, but that basket can withstand 'any' attack from wild Pokemon... it was 'designed' to withstand those attacks. If you had just done your job... I wouldn't have had to leap that far to save us all. If we had climbed down 'safely', we might have spotted another ore deposit or two on the way and harvested them. He 'needs' the money and we can't waste even a single day or a single deposit!" She then looked away and walked off, only whispering, "If you had only trusted 'me' with his protection, in that one moment, I would not be doubting you with 'his' protection, from now on."
That night she slept in their bed with her back to Weaver so she wouldn't have to look at him until morning, and Weaver did the same.
(Dominicks' PoV)
The next day was spent on the road toward a nearby city to try and sell what they had harvested, but he noticed that Jessica and Weaver were avoiding eye contact with each other. Not sure what happened, but not wanting to get either of them upset or start a fight between them, he just kept on walking. Once they had made their way to the town, he asked around until he learned of an Ore and Stone dealer who would buy what he had, and then began the process of figuring out how much he had made with what he and Jessica had found on Mt. Coronet. Half an hour of weighing, examining quality and looking up prices, he got his answer.
"So... we made about, thirty grand from that escapade... it's a lot but, still a lot more to go." He told the two of them. "So, here's what we'll do, we still have about half a day of daylight, we'll use some of what we made to purchase food supplies, leave, make what we buy and then continue on back to Mt. Coronet. We'll keep rinsing and repeating over and over until we earn enough money."
"Weav." Weaver said quietly as he nodded, accepting the plan.
"Sneas." Jessica told him with a nod as well. "Got it."
He just sighed as the two were 'still' avoiding each other, so he just led the way to the nearest grocery store and, despite the looks he kept receiving, quickly went around and purchased foods and items that didn't either require a can opener or were basic things like vegetables, fruits, berries, and meats. He purchased stuff he was familiar with, Remoraid and Magikarp meats, various types of berries, some breads, a few spices that he remembered the Gingko Guild traded in sometimes, and a few other things. He purchased enough for about a week's worth of provisions, and in total spent ten grand of the money he'd made that day.
They left town, ignoring looks and questions, and traveled all the way to their old campsite at the base of Mt. Coronet, and while Jessica and Weaver waited, he cooked and prepared provisions for the weak, salting and cooking the meat so it would last, toasting and spreading berry juice on the breads, and using the herbs he purchased to add some flavor for their dinner. Dinner was quick and light, sliced meat with spices, berries and water from a nearby river. With that done everything was stored in the basket, the bed was made, and they slept.
The next morning Weaver didn't argue or complain about the climbing experience, and Jessica made no attempt to converse with the Weavile, causing Dominick to wonder what had happened that night, but he had other worries as they began searching low and high for ore deposits. Pickings were scarce, they had to travel further and higher up to find any deposits jutting out. He would have preferred a cave, but he figured that the usual spots would have been mined out extensively by now, so only these deposits on the mountainside were available.
However, after eight hours of poor pickings, in which they only found a few ore chunks and the occasional evolution stone, they struck gold, literally. They found a trio of black ore deposits sitting next to each other about halfway up the mountain jutting out together, and after some excavating and breaking apart the worthless chunks...
"No way, we struck gold!" He proclaimed as he saw the gold chunk sitting there.
"Weav?" Weaver said in surprise.
"Sneeeasleeeeeer!" Jessica proclaimed with a smile. "Alriiiiiight!"
"Alright, hold it still Jessica, I need to clear out enough of this to extract the gold!" He said excitedly.
After much harvesting and careful chiseling, he broke apart the ore deposit and finally pulled out the gold nugget chunk. Turns out, it wasn't as 'big' as he was hoping for, still it was what it was. He broke apart the next two deposits which 'also' yielded gold nuggets, the second being smaller than the first, and the third being larger than the other two. This boosted their morale and encouraged them to go a bit longer than usual. After finishing they started to climb down, and thankfully encountered no Braviary attacks, but every time they spotted another Ore Deposit, Jessica angled toward it so they could harvest it quickly, extracting iron ores, evolution stones, and whatever else they found.
They made camp and had dinner again, agreeing to go back into town to find someone to buy their findings.
The next day in the city they spent a long and hard time searching for a place to sell their goods, and when they did, he had to haggle and talk about the going prices of gold nuggets. While gold nuggets were valuable, he had to make sure he was getting the most he could get, explaining his situation regarding his massive school debt. And so, despite his attempts, he only got market price value, which he had to accept from then on, unlike in Hisui where he could haggle and maybe get a slightly 'higher' or 'lower' price depending on what he was trading or bartering for... this wasn't Hisui.
Still, he walked away with ninety thousand to add to his funds. Hearing that gave him a glimmer of hope that he could repay his debt before it got even worse. Not wanting to risk his money being stolen, he paid for a mail carrier, a Staravia of all things, to deliver it to his parent's home, with a small letter telling them to put the money toward paying his student loan debt, urging them to 'not' use it for anything else. It wasn't that he didn't trust them, but he just wanted to be safe.
"Alright, let's start heading back to Mt. Coronet you two, once we're there Jessica can climb us back up, we can look for more deposits, and we may even get lucky again with gold nuggets!" He exclaimed as they walked down the road.
"Sneeas!" Jessica agreed with a smile, while Weaver nodded with a smile.
He noticed Weaver looking a little exhausted on his feet, so he asked if Weaver wanted to sit in his ball for a while to rest up since he and Jessica were used to long walks and travels.
"Weav vile weave?" He asked, pointing a claw at Jessica, who frowned and 'hmpfed' while turning away.
"No, she doesn't have a Pokeball, Pearl Clan members do not believe in putting a Pokemon in a ball, as we of the clan believe all should share in the space of the world, and not be confined to a small space like a Pokeball." He explained warmly.
Weaver nodded as he was pulled into the ball, and Jessica and he continued on without him.
However, as they walked on down the road, hiding in the bushes because they had seen that very unusual looking Pokemon, a pair of 'get rich quick' schemers on their vacation from home and their wives popped their heads out to look at the duo, formerly a trio who passed.
"Did you hear that?"
"Heck yea... that tall, weird gold Pokemon with the really long claws can climb Mt. Coronet and find gold nuggets!"
"Oh man, we 'have' to try and get that Pokemon, it'll be our ticket to easy street!"
"Didn't we try something like this on Shamouti Island last year?"
"That time we got in over our heads, this aint no legendary, our Pokemon have the advantage now, and that Pokemon is 'wild' so it's fair game!"
"I'm starting to think my wife was right about you, you are a bad influence on me..."
"Oh, come on, we've been friends since we were kids, we always stick by each other, you and me bro are a team, now come on, I have a plan!"
(Jessica's PoV, the next day)
Jessica smirked as she slowly clambered down the wall to another ore deposit, this was a pretty good day for them. The pickings were good, but they had to climb much higher up the mountain than the previous days. She wasn't too afraid though, as despite seeing the occasional Braviary or Staraptor, and even a Zubat swarm around these heights, the Pokemon had left them alone and Weaver had decided to cool himself down, finally, and not provoke a fight with any Pokemon.
All day today and yesterday they had avoided talking to each other, both saying what had been said and she honestly didn't care. The Weavile had treated her like she wasn't keeping Dominick safe, thinking he had to protect them both. But oh... ooooh she had been sorely tempted to fight him to prove him wrong. Still, she did her task, climbing them up and down the mountain searching for ore deposits, and she'd found a lot.
In total Dominick had about fifteen evolution stones, twenty or so iron ore clumps, even a nugget clump, and they had found a beautiful collection of deposits here in this area.
"Alright your up Dominick!" She said as she angled the basket near the deposit.
"Got it!"
Dominick poked himself out of the basket and started to hack and chisel at the deposit, uncovering the riches within it, whatever they were. The pickings were so good in this area that after talking, they decided to stay up here for another day before going back to sell. If they were lucky, they'd find even more goodies worth a lot of money.
Idly she looked around and scoped out their sleeping area since the sun was beginning to set, the daylight beginning to set. The flat ground was a used campground, meant for tourists and hikers. It felt a little depressing that this mountain had been turned into a 'tourist' attraction and a simple 'leisure' walking ground, when in her time...
'Doesn't matter anymore...' She thought sadly, as Dominick finished chiseling and extracted another evolution stone.
"Alright, let's go down and rest up." He proclaimed, closing up the basket.
She nodded and started climbing down, going as fast as she could because they were going to eat big tonight in celebration for their escapades today. She could already taste dinner in her mouth.
As she climbed, another thought began prying itself into her mind, ever since she arrived it had been gnawing at the back of her head, like a Wurmple, chewing up leaves. And that was the subject of... her lineage. She knew she had to look for an heir at some point, just like her mother, after all she had 'her', and she had been expected to find a mate to bring forth her heir when her time to step down came. She was the last of the nobles, for all she knew, the last of her bloodline, she couldn't just... not without leaving an heir to continue the traditions of her lineage and that of the Pearl Clan.
Even as she stepped onto solid ground, undid the basket, helped out her Warden and they looked over their findings, she constantly wondered how she could possibly find a worthy mate. There were no Sneaslers anymore, what was she to do, her kind did not just pick any random Pokemon to mate with, they had to be important to them, they had to be strong, capable hunters, and above all able to best them in combat.
She sighed as she stared up at the sky, even as dinner was being handed out and they started digging in, she just kept looking up at the sky, even as dark clouds began to gather indicating it might potentially rain or snow, wondering.
"Is something wrong Jessica?"
She looked to her Warden and sighed, nodding as she finished eating. "Yes... I have a thought that is eating away at my mind Warden Dominick."
"What is it?" He asked.
She looked at her claws and glanced at him, before getting up and holding herself, still staring at the sky. "Warden Dominick, I'm afraid... of my lineage dying out, and not being able to find a mate." She explained. "I never thought about this before, after all, in Hisui I just figured when the time came... I'd find a Sneasler to be my mate, and together we'd have an egg so that I would leave an Heir. But... I'm the only Sneasler around I think... so... I have no potential mate... and I'm scared."
There was silence as she explained her position, and she could feel Dominick's quiet thoughts, knowing he was trying to figure out how to respond. Despite being her Warden, she was afraid that he would not be able to help her in this matter. He'd taken care of her, helped her out, done all he could as her Warden over the years, even if it had been in training. He nursed her wounds, fed her, tended her sicknesses, helped her grow stronger in battle and learned all that there was to learn of her territory. But... how could he help her in this, she was lost an-
"So, mate with another Pokemon, what's hard about that?" Weaver said instantly.
At that she just turned and 'glared' at the Weavile.
"What is 'hard' about that, I cannot just 'mate' with any Pokemon!" She told him indignantly.
"Uh yes you can, my mother was a Sneasel and my dad was a Linoone. If you're looking to find a mate, go to the Daycare Center and I'm sure you can find one in your egg group." He said with a raised eyebrow.
"Egg Group?" She asked even more incredulously. "You cannot just 'expect me' to pick a RANDOM Pokemon, and just let them sire my offspring!"
She could see Dominick was about to say something, but Weaver spoke up first, glaring at her.
"You're the one who is being 'picky' now, you need an egg to be your future 'heir' or whatever, so you might as well go find a Pokemon to mate with and get it over with. My mother did, and I turned out just fine, there is nothing wrong with having another Pokemon species to be your egg's parent! Humans have us do it all the time, they call the profession 'Breeders', and their job is-"
"I've had enough of you treating me like one of your own kind, I am NOT another Weavile that can just be 'bred' at another's whim, I am a Sneasler, and I am one of the Nobles of Hisui, I am a Noble of the Pearl Clan."
"And I've had enough of 'you' trying to get me to stop protecting Dominick and let 'you' take care of him, Dominick is MY responsibility too, my 'TRAINER' wanted me to keep him safe when he went out, and I am just doing that!" Weaver screamed as he flexed his sharp claws as a demonstration of force.
"Guys stop you're..." Dominick tried to intervene, but it was too late, she completely ignored him in favor of giving this Weavile a 'demonstration' of why she is a Noble.
"You want to keep him safe, prove it to me right here, right now, and try to best ME!"
In an instant both of them had charged, claws striking and scraping as they lunged and leapt, charged and swiped at one another, their fight breaking out and pushing them away from the little camp they had set up. She charged forward and tried to swipe at the Weavile with her claws, poison slipping along the edges as she aimed to cause a disastrous effect on him.
However, Weaver was no slouch, despite his 'feeble attempts' in her eyes to ward off the Braviarys, he was far nimbler and much more of a veteran than she realized. He easily blocked, counter swiped, and leapt over and around her, dodging attack and counter attacking with pinpoint accuracy. He was right, he was a threat while on solid ground, compared to sitting on the basket and having to adjust according to the basket's movements.
But she also noticed that 'she' was stronger. Even as he blocked swipes, thrusts, and even a few kicks that could shatter boulders, the small Weavile grunted with extreme effort to hold her at bay. He focused more on 'avoiding' attacks, then trying to block them, whereas she didn't waste time dodging, letting his attack connect with her claws, sharp edge to sharp edge and simply enduring his onslaughts.
*Clink, chink, clink*
*Chink, chang, chink*
He leapt, she leapt, he swiped, she swiped, over and over they fought against one another as both tried to overpower and thrash the other. No matter their initial thoughts before the fights, both were equally matched, as despite his veterancy status, and her skills and knowledge of fighting, neither were able to 'outright' win in a fight. Weaver could easily keep pace as he ran circles around her, faster by just a little bit, but unable to deliver a decisive blow due to her size and especially her strength.
She charged toward him and did a cross attack, seeking to break his defenses, instead he leapt, and she sank her claws into a boulder, but her poison corroded the rock and allowed her to swiftly pull them out before he could strike her with his icy claws from behind. She tugged out and turned around to block just in time as he grunted with force.
Then he roared and tried to headbutt her, but she countered, ignoring the pain and simply shoved him off her before charging again.
They clashed again and again, the frustration and anger she'd had for this annoying little cretin trying to belittle her role and position as a Noble, treating her like some ordinary Pokemon one might find lying on the road!
"LOOK OUT!" Dominick screamed as loud as he could, trying to get their attention.
Both of them paused only for a second to see what he was yelling about, before they split apart in the face of a pair of advancing Gabites and a Garchomp. Both Pokemon species were particularly strong looking as they charged them, their sharp claws and tough scale hides were imposing sights to them. But in that brief moment they had forgotten their feud with one another and focused their efforts on their attackers. The Garchomp charged her with a fearsome war cry while the two Gabites attacked Weaver.
The glared and flexed her claws as she traded blows with the Garchomp, but unlike the Staraptor with her soft feathers her claws weren't able to sink into or do much harm to the Garchomp and its scaly hide. Its sharp talons were also a threat as it used its very real and legendary strength to pummel into her defenses, constantly clashing and slashing at her. She used her claws more for defense as she snarled and tried to get around it, trying to use her speed to and poison strikes to weaken it slowly, but it gave her no room as it kept slashing at her.
Weaver meanwhile was having an easier time, since he was a nimbler creature, he was able to outmaneuver the two Gabites with no trouble, and because of his ice typing he was able to take advantage of the major weaknesses of the Garchomp Line, their duo weakness to ice types. He leapt over and slashed down on one of them with an Icicle Crash while flinging an ice shard at the other. The first one almost went down instantly while the second was forced to back off due to sheer pain. After the first went down the second seemed not very keen on fighting but began chucking rocks using its tail and claws which hurt him very much.
Meanwhile Jessica had finally hit her limits and was forced into the rocky cliff behind her, backed into a corner where the Garchomp grinned as it had her cut off. Instead, she counter grinned and just let it charge forward, before leaping up, climbing up the rock and then kicking off to land directly behind it while it burrowed its claws into the cliff face. Now that she had it pinned, she slashed and slashed with her Dire Claw strike, the signature moves of her species. Slash after slash, poison after poison sank and dug into the Pseudo Legend, weakening it and poisoning it with her deadly poison. She couldn't really control what would happen to it, but the effects made it apparent what she'd caused. Poisoned and now weakened, the Garchomp turned and dizzily tried to strike back, but she just kept dodging and striking, sinking more poison and causing more damage to it, until eventually it gave a feeble cry and started to stumble away in defeat. It looked back at her expecting her to attack, but she had already leapt away to give it plenty of space to escape.
She just stood straight, breathed deeply, formed the same respectful sign using her claws, and thanked it silently for the battle, wishing it a safe and speedy recovery.
She heard the cries of pain and saw that Weaver was finishing off the last Gabite, looking worse for wear, but not nearly as bad as the Gabites who had frozen gashes and cuts in their hides. He roared as he formed another layer of sharpened ice on his claws before bringing his claws down to strike.
She was faster however and managed to get her claws under his to block the strike. He panted and glared at her, struggling to push further and finish off these two attackers.
"Stop... getting... in... my... way!" He grunted as he tried to finish them off, but she growled and kicked him with her muscular feet.
He tumbled away and she gently helped the two Gabites up, pushing them away and urging them to leave with their comrade. They feebly nodded and left as fast as they could, limping quickly and covering their injuries as best they could.
After they had left, she turned to the Weavile who slowly got up and glared at her. "Why did you get in my way, I wasn't going to kill them, just make them 'faint'!" He grunted.
"They were already defeated, let them go, they won't bother us again!" She said cooly.
"Those Pokemon are dangerous in the wild, the only way to make sure we can stay safe in the wild around them is to cause them to faint and then leave them while they're unconscious!"
She was about to respond, saying how barbaric that is, and that it is not how they treat Pokemon in Hisui, when she heard a whizzing sound behind her. She had but a split-second reaction to duck and avoid the Pokeball that had been thrown at her, resulting in it soaring above her and striking Weaver. But Weaver, with wide eyes, watched as a little net of light erupted around him temporarily to block the ball from connecting, resulting in it falling to the ground harmlessly.
"What the, who just threw that?" Dominick said as he ran up to the two Pokemon.
"Now why'd you go and do that?" A voice called out.
She, Weaver and Dominick looked to see a pair of humans with four flying type Pokemon, a fire-red bird with a fearsome expression, a steel-silver bird with sharp wings and talons, a small bug that rapidly flapped its wings and had sharp cutting arms, and an intimidating bird with a long sharp beak, large feathery wings and a glare in its eyes. She panted heavily as she was still not fully recovered, and it was obvious these two were here to capture her. That ball had been thrown to try and steal her away from her Warden, her territory, and her life she still had.
"What are you two doing, why are you attacking us, did you send those Pokemon to hurt us?"
"Yep, we only wanted to weaken the tall Pokemon there so we could catch it, then we can use it to harvest the ore deposits on this mountain for some 'easy money'." The first one said with a smirk.
"So how about its buddy, just let us catch it and we'll split the share with you fifty fifty?"
"You can't catch this Sneaseler, she is a sacred Pokemon of the Pearl Clan, she doesn't belong in a Pokeball. You can't just capture her either, she only follows me by consent, and because I am her Warden, her caretaker!"
"Look she's a wild Pokemon, you aren't going to catch her, so she is 'fair game' buddy, either you catch her, or 'we' catch her!"
"Just leave her alone, she's important to me, and you can't..."
She glanced at Weaver while they talked, she knew the Weavile, though flexing his claws for battle again, was in no shape to challenge these four flyers, all of whom she had no knowledge about, and thus did not know how to fight them. A fight was inevitable, and she didn't think she could last long in a fight against them. Retreat was also not an option... they couldn't just abandon their basket and supplies... which meant only one thing.
"Dominick, take Weaver and run!" She told him as she steadied her breathing.
"Jessica, but..."
"You can't fight them by yourse-" Weaver started saying before she kicked him in the guts, again. "Oooohh... I guess you think... otherwise..."
"Weaver?" He screamed as Weaver groaned in pain.
"Go... I'll be fine... he needs help..." She ordered him.
Her Warden looked nervous as she stared at him, but he was her Warden, and their relationship was a 'special one'. She could tell him to do something, as a Noble Pokemon of Hisui, and he could tell her to do something as her Warden and Caretaker. But it was a relationship built on trust, closeness, and a bond that they'd forged over nearly six years together. So even though he clearly did not want to leave her alone, he still nodded, pulled Weaver into his Pokeball and ran away to their little campsite to quickly pick up their carrying basket.
Once he was safely away, she turned to her attackers and glared at them, before taking a deep breath, closed her eyes, and knelt on the ground facing Mt. Coronet, where at the top was the Temple of Almighty Sinnoh. Then, she began to pray...
'Almighty Sinnoh, hear now the words of one of your creations, hear my thoughts and answer my prayers great and powerful one...'
"Hey what is she doing?"
"Don't ask me, just chuck another ball at it!"
'I am the last of the Noble Pokemon, the last of a lineage blessed by your gifts, the last of a great line descended by the original ten who fought alongside the Ancient Hero of old who saved this land, but I am alone... the clans of old, the nobles of old are gone and again I call upon you for I stand alone!' She prayed as she slowly stood up, hearing the sounds of thunder above her. 'So I call upon you, greatest of all, Almighty Sinnoh, bestow upon me the power of old, the power of the Nobles, who with that power stood against all in their frenzied state, for I need this power to protect my throne, my domain, and above all my precious Warden, for without me by his side his life is forfeit, and without him I have no more reason to continue in this time... please... I ask this not for myself... but for him... for I...'
*Tscweeschnng, Deessbhooom, Creachzh*
"Hey... what the..."
She looked up to see, with a smile, the same crack in the sky indicating that a space-time distortion was forming, but it was a very small one... it was directly over them, yet the bubble was not forming. She breathed in, spread her arms wide... and stood, waiting for the blessing of Almighty Sinnoh to strike her.
(Dominick's Pov)
He quickly ran around the side of the campground with the basket and all of their belongings, just as he heard the telltale signs of a space-time distortion forming. He glanced up and stared in horror as a crack in space-time formed above the campground, and within minutes, lightning began striking the ground randomly.
Not wanting to get struck he ducked behind a boulder and tried to wait out the storm. But then he heard an almighty feminine shriek of rage. He tried to peak around to see what was going on, but another strike of lightning right near him caused him to return to cover. But he could hear the sounds of battle being raged, he heard the two guys yelling out commands, orders, and the sounds of their Pokemon fighting and attacking. He heard sounds of pain, cries of agony, the thunderous sound of heavy blows and breaking of boulders.
After only a few minutes he heard screams of fear and terror, and watched as the two guys ran past his hiding spot, screaming about running for their lives, their Pokemon having been called back or being carried in their arms.
He also heard the sound of the Space-Time distortion crack vanishing, and finally looked around to see the site of a horrible battle having taken place. There were deep gashes in the earth, sickening poison-coated rocks and cuts in the rocks. But what was terrifying of all, was high above on the mountain, on a ledge overlooking the camp, he saw...
"No... Jessica... what have you done?" He whispered fearfully.
He could barely see her standing up there, she was emitting this heavenly-golden glow-like aura from her body, her eyes shining bright white and emitting the same symbol of Almighty Sinnoh itself.
"Sneeeeeeeeeealer!" She roared in fury, before she turned and climbed away.
Unable to follow her, and knowing he couldn't help her in her frenzied state at the moment, he began to slowly trudge down the mountain back to the nearest town he could find. Since he had to travel using the normal roads, he walked through the night, needing to get to safety and to help Weaver who was still hurt.
Through the night he struggled, trudging and climbing, clambering over rocks, boulders and anything else to reach a town. But he was exhausted, he had been going for nearly twenty hours, and the lack of rest finally was beginning to wear him down after five hours of walking. He stumbled over a patch of bushes and fell face forward into some grass, panting for air as he pushed himself up to try and get back on track.
"Well look at you, aren't you an exhausted one?" A calm voice said to him.
He looked up to see behind him, a woman that he hadn't even noticed in his exhaustion and especially at night. She was wearing a large dark black overall-jacket, with golden-blonde hair, dark pants and had little black hairclips in her hair.
"Who..."
"Let's get you to some shelter and rested, then we can talk, I have a feeling you might have some answers to some questions I have about that lightning I just saw now." She replied, helping him up and even letting him lean on her shoulder while they walked. "By the way, name's Cynthia, former Champion of the Sinnoh Region, retired a while ago... back from my vacation to Alola. I'll take you to my home village, you can rest and explain yourself there."
[Narrator]
[After falling asleep while she took care of his lone Weavile companion Weaver, Cynthia helped him up and listened to his story of who he was, what he was doing in the area, and more interestedly, in the story of the now 'Frenzied' Pokemon of the mountain cliffs.]
[She had come to the area after hearing multiple reports of these weird 'distortions' appearing around the region and had woken up hearing one so close to her home near Mt. Coronet. While he rested, she tried to find out more of that 'Frenzied Pokemon', but only found evidence of destruction and devastation being wrecked upon the Pokemon dwellers of the mountain. She was going to go and have her Pokemon battle it, catch it to get it under control, but he insisted that she let 'him' handle Jessica, as she was his responsibility, and she was not in her right mind.]
[After listening to his history, the explanations of his Pearl Clan beliefs, where they had come from, and a host of other details that just intrigued her more and more, she smiled with delight as she agreed to help him. After explaining how he could calm her down, she gathered the necessary ingredients and helped him make the special balms. Then, they started the climb to where he had last seen Jessica.]
"Alright, here we are." Cynthia said as she watched Dominick carrying the small bucket of balms. "Are you confident that she'll reappear?"
"Yes, I know she'll come when I play my Celestica Flute to summon her." He told her.
"And you're sure you don't want any Pokemon helping you?" Cynthia asked with a raised eyebrow. "Just going off of these gashes in the rocks, the mountain, the earth itself, this Pokemon has claws as long as my forearm, and a poison that can outshine even a Salazzle's corrosive toxins. Fighting her on your own is one thing, but fighting a Pokemon that is taller than you, with not even your own Pokemon is quite a feat. If you aren't careful, she can slice you in two without even trying."
"I know, but I need to help her, she is my Noble, and I am her Warden. She's counting on me to help her, she went into this Frenzied State because she wanted to protect me and herself, so I have to do this for her, it's the only way. This is how it has to be."
"Is this how things were done in Hisui, I am very curious about ancient Sinnoh's past?" She asked with a smile.
"As a matter of fact, yea, there was a period of time when the Nobles of Hisui were going into a Frenzied State, and by using balms made from their favorite foods, were they able to be calmed down."
Cynthia nodded as she pulled out a Pokeball and released her Pokemon, a Garchomp, a very imposing and intimidating Garchomp...
"Well just in case, I'll sit back here with my Garchomp, and if it looks like things are going to get out of hand, we'll jump in immediately to act as a distraction." She proclaimed. "I'm not saying I don't trust you, but I'd rather not let you die to your own Pokemon's blades while she isn't in control of her actions. You can understand that right?"
He nodded as he began dividing the balms into little bags with hooks that he could latch onto his belt for ease of access. Next to him Weaver looked at him with a nervous frown.
"Weavile weave?"
"No, I need to do this for her Weaver, Jessica is important to me... I took a vow to take care of her as her Warden, and I let her become Frenzied... I 'have' to help her, this is my responsibility." He told his father's Pokemon. "She's helped me countless times, and I've helped her just as much. She's saved my life so many times and... I promised the Pearl Clan, and especially her mother, a Noble Pokemon of the clan, that I'd take care of her. She entrusted her with me as an egg, and that... that level of trust is... something I 'can't' just... it's my duty to take care of her, no matter what... I care about her after all we've gone through and... without her I have no purpose anymore."
Weaver looked sullen as he listened to his words, but nodded, taking one of the bags of Balms and running to a safe spot so he wouldn't be spotted, and could provide more balms when he ran out during the fight.
He took a very deep breath as he looked around the grounds, at all of the damage done to the area. And hoped that he would be able to help her. He took out his Celestica flute, and smiled softly as he remembered it being presented by Irida to him. She said that only those who are Wardens, or noteworthy individuals may be given a Celestica Flute from either the Diamond or the Pearl clans. So, to be trusted with it, meant that he was a trusted individual of the clan, and that the Noble he was able to call upon with this flute, meant that he was trusted with their safety, security, health, and future...
He also remembered, the first time he played it for Jessica as a Sneasler, she was young, so she wasn't 'a noble' at the time, but as he played it for her... she learned well the sound of his playing. Sometimes when they rested, he would play for her, just for the sake of playing for her, and she would just lean on him, hold him close to her, and just listen to his music, loving the sounds he made with his flute.
He put the instrument to his lips... and began playing.
*Breeebp Breeebp... Breeebp Breeebp... Breeeeee beebreebree bree breaaaeeee... Breeee Breebreebree bree breaeeeae... breearebareeeeeebp... breeeee breepabarebeeebreeeeebp...*
The song he played was the song of his desire to someday return home, the meloncholy of his loss of his memories, the life he had, the life he'd lost... but also of the joy and happiness in finding new purpose, new life in his time in Hisui. It was the song he played to summon her, because after years of tending to her, helping her grow, she was his new purpose, his new joy in life... she was 'everything' to him now. Some nights she asked him to play because, she just couldn't sleep without him playing music for her.
*Breeebp Breeebp... Breeebp Breeebp... Breeeeee beebreebree bree breaaaeeee... Breeee Breebreebree bree breaeeeae... breearebareeeeeebp... breeeee breepabarebeeebreeeeebp...*
He finished playing and waited.
"Sneeeeeasleeeer!"
He turned around and leapt out of the way as a rush of gold ran at him from the edge of a cliff and swiped at him, having skidded down with rapid speed and causing a deep gash in the rockface. She then swiped at a rock, sank her claws into it and used it to spin around to face him again, glaring at him with unrestrained fury and anger, her power spilling out as her claws dripped in poison, poison that corroded and melted at the rock she'd sunk them into.
Glaring at him, she bent low and sunk her claws into the earth, slowly walking forward, causing deep cuts and slipping poison into the ground, melting dirt, rock, gravel and anything else touched with an acid-like substance to demonstrate her strength. Smirking, she stood up and crossed her arms as she prepared to do battle.
['Last' Lady of the Cliffs: Sneasler]
[Frenzied Noble Theme]
"It's me Jessica..." He yelled as he tried to talk to her.
She ignored his calls and flexed her claws, before pausing and sinking her left claw into the earth to charge him. She ran fast and furiously toward him, flinging poison coated dirt and trying to slice him with her claws, but he dodged and rolled out of the way, grabbing one of the balms he carried and tossing it at her. It exploded in a liquid containing her favorite food, and though it did little to no damage to her, it caused her to flinch and ever so slightly pause in her assault.
But this was only a brief reprieve as she sunk the other set of claws into the ground, glinted with her white eyes, and charged again, repeating the same attack pattern.
"I'm only doing this because I care about you!" He yelled as he grabbed another balm and tossed it, timing it so that it hit her right as she lunged.
"SNeeeeeasler!"
The balm exploded in her face, flinching her only for a second, resulting in her missing him by the tiniest of hairs length.
Again and again, she repeated the pattern of sinking claws into the earth, charging him, flinging the poison coated earth at him as well as trying to slice into his body with her sharp claws. But every time he dodged and used a balm to distract and help her, weakening her, ever so slightly.
After a few times of doing this, she shrieked in anger as she turned and ran, 'ninja style' at him, causing him to duck and roll to avoid her cleaving his head off and slicing into his torso with her deadly sharp claws. She shrieked again in frustration as she ran toward the cliff and rapidly began climbing it, before kicking off and lunging down at him with murderous intent.
*WHAM*
She sunk her claws into the earth with enough force that her arms were practically buried. She was now struggling to tug them out, and he took this chance to start tossing more and more balms, throwing them one after another while she struggled with the earth. She grunted, groaned, screamed in frustration, but eventually after he started emptying what was left into her, she gave an almighty yell and pulled them out, but accidentally backed up and hit her head on a large boulder, causing her to become temporarily stunned.
"Snea...sler... sneas...ler..."
He tossed another balm and reached into his bag, before he realized it was empty.
"Weaver, I need more baaaaalms!" He yelled.
He ran away from Jessica as she was stunned while Weaver ran carrying the balms he had. Quickly he handed him the bag containing the balms and hooked it to his belt, right as Jessica began to recover.
"Jessica, Jessica it's me, can you hear me?" He yelled as the Sneasler began to come around.
Unfortunately, she was still in her frenzied state, so his words only caused her to refocus her aggression on him and screech her battle cry again.
"SNEEEEASLER!"
She had a glint in her eyes as she sank her left claws into the ground, rushed toward him and flung poison-soaked earth at him, but instead of trying to slice him with her left claws, she reached forward with her right claws and tried to strike him down by slashing into his side. Fortunately, he managed to dodge it, and avoided being skewered, but now she added a nasty spin to her attack pattern as she repeated the same process, sinking her right claws into the ground, rushing toward him and then flinging poison-soaked earth at him, before using her left claws to try and slice into him.
She kept repeating this attack pattern, flinging poisonous earth and trying to slash or stab him, viciously assaulting him as he threw Balm after Balm, watching each explode as they made contact with her. He could see the balms were working, they were having an effect, she was slowing down, her eyes shifting as if she were trying to come out of a confused state, but that golden glow, that heavenly glow that encapsulated her entire form continued to shine bright, making her roar in frustration as she charged again and again.
"Jessica, please snap out of it, you're hurting yourself with this power!" He yelled as he tossed another balm, right as he dodged to avoid an attack.
"SNEAAAAAS!"
He did what he could, dodging her attacks as best he could while tossing balm after balm. But as he reached into the bag to grab another, he felt a spark of fear as he found that he could only grasp 'one' solitary balm in his hand. He hadn't made enough, he didn't have enough, and in that brief moment that was all it took for Jessica to finally connect with her claws. She lunged forward and back swiped him, knocking him behind a boulder, shoving the air out of his lungs and forcing him to the ground. Painfully he grasped the last balm, and stared at her as she snarled and slowly approached him, flexing her claws as she moved in for the finishing blow.
"Please... Jessica... please come back to me..." He begged her, hoping his words would reach her through the haze of power and feral ferocity. "Jessica... please, Noble of Coronet Highlands, Lady of the Cliffs... Noble of the Pearl Clan. As your Warden, I'm begging you... please come back to your senses, please!"
She just grinned as she sank her claws into the boulder he was cowering near, scratched several gashes in it, before flexing her claws which were dripping in poison.
"We've been through so much, remember the times... we were alone... and we nearly starved, and you swam through a river to hunt us Magikarp to eat? Remember when... when you fell ill, and I climbed a cliff with my bare hands without you to find an herb to help you? Or those nights when a blizzard blew in, and you shielded me with your body heat? Or the time when the Pearl held a festival of thanks to Almighty Palkia, and I couldn't find a single girl to go with so 'you' became my dance partner out of pity? We laughed about it the entire time, but nobody batted an eye..."
She continued to stomp toward him, not listening to a word he said, claws poised to strike.
"Jessica... I lost... everything... my memories... my life... my girlfriend... all I've got is you... please don't... don't... I need you... I can't... I..." He whispered feebly as he shakily readied the balm. "I LOVE YOU!"
She lunged toward him, right as he tossed the balm...
*Smack*
*Tnnnnnnnnnnnnng*
He flinched as she paused above him, inches from his face, but her body 'exploded' in golden heavenly light, all of it leaving her body as it floated high into the sky, evaporating to nothingness. He watched as Jessica pulled her claws from the earth, gently laid her claws flat on the earth and stared into his face, her body slowly returning to normal. The glow in her eyes faded away, returning to their normal colors, the color of her fur slowly returning to its normal dirty gold coloring and without the blinding glow of the power she carried which put her into a frenzy, he could now see her loving expression as she stared at him, a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eyes... and a gentle, "Snea... sler... sneas~!"
"I love... you... as well~!"
In the fading afterglow of the power fading away, she leaned forward, wrapped her arms gently around him, being very careful with her claws, and kissed him deeply on the lips. She hummed happily as she pushed him into the earth, sharing her first kiss with him and tenderly stroking his hair with her claws, being careful not to cut even a single strand. After a moment she pulled away, winked, and pulled away, helping him up as they heard footsteps approaching.
Stepping around the corner he watched Cynthia and her Garchomp approach along with Weaver who was looking relieved to see him safe and sound.
"So, I take it that giant light fading into the sky was all of that power leaving her?" Cynthia asked.
"Yes... she's back to normal, thankfully." He said as Jessica nodded in agreement.
"Sneasler sneas~!" She said with a smile. "I'm back to normal~!"
"What was that power, I've never seen a Pokemon with that kind of power before." Cynthia asked. "It isn't anything like a Mega Evolution, or a Z-Move, or even a Dynamax aura, I've travelled to so many regions, and I've not encountered a single power like that."
"That's, harder to explain, but it's a special power that only can be found in certain pokemon species, particularly the lines of the ten Noble Pokemon of Hisui." Dominick explained while Jessica leaned on his shoulder with a grin. "Speaking of... to introduce you, this is the Lady of the Cliffs, Jessica, or Sneasler, either suffices. She is the Noble... er... 'last' Noble Pokemon of the Pearl Clan, and I am her Warden."
"Warden huh, I guess that is some kind of a Pokemon Trainer?" Cynthia asked. "Well, Lady of the Cliffs, Jessica, I am Cynthia, former Champion of the Sinnoh Region, now retired, and I welcome you to our time and graciously offer you your throne here." She declared, surprising them as they were not expecting her to know so much despite the rushed history, he gave her. "Hmhmhm, I also am a lover of history, since I'm not a Champion anymore, I have more free time, so when I heard the name 'Hisui' from you, I did a quick research run about the subject. I am sorry my Lady that you are the last of the Nobles, but at least know that I will put some word in and see if the Pokemon League will declare these cliffs declared a protected environment. It is the least we can do since you 'are' directly descended from that, pardon the words, 'noble lineage'."
Jessica nodded as she scratched her face lightly, leaning against Dominick with a smirk as she nodded to him.
"Ah yes, your Warden, well... while the Pearl and Diamond clans do not exist anymore, in my hometown of Celestica Town, I'm sure they would be more than willing to allow you to retain your positions there if you need a place to stay." Cynthia said with a smile. "Your Warden can continue his duties, and you can live as you did in the old ways of Hisui, I'm sure many people there would love to hear the history and traditions of those times from living relics of those days."
Dominick nodded in acceptance of her offer; it would be nice to live in an area close to Jessica's territory, and he wouldn't be a burden to his parents anymore. He would also be able to live somewhere close to his currently 'only' source of income, the Ore Deposits.
Weaver, however, looked dejected at the offer, saddened, as he looked between him and Cynthia and even Jessica, something the Sneasler took notice, but kept her quiet.
They travelled back to Cynthia's hometown, where she introduced him to more people of the village and they asked some questions of him and Jessica. They were fascinated by him and his knowledge of the old customs and old ways, fascinated that they had a 'real' Lady of Hisui, one of the Noble Pokemon among their village. The few kids running around were captivated and wanted nothing more than to ogle her and ask questions. But... as night began to descend and they got settled into their new temporary home, because he wanted to keep his promise and build a home from his own hands, Jessica and Weaver vanished somewhere to leave him alone and talk to each other.
(Jessica's PoV)
Jessica walked up behind the Weavile who was sitting on a lone boulder overlooking a river nearby away from the village, just gloomily staring out and being himself, alone.
"You alright?" She asked politely.
Weaver looked back at her and sighed, nodding. "Not entirely, but I'm fine."
She looked at him, curiously, noticing the Pokeball sitting on the ground beside him. "You've been acting different ever since my Warden, Dominick, decided to live here from now on."
"I have... because... I'm going to miss him very much." He told her. "I'm leaving to return to Greenstation Town, taking my ball with me... to return to my Trainer."
She looked at him in surprise, he was so adamant about staying with them that she whole-heartedly expected him to stay the entire time.
"I only listened to my trainer when he told me to keep an eye and protect Dominick whenever he went out, when he returned, he told me the same thing. But... he... isn't the same Dominick as he was back then." Weaver whispered. "He was so easygoing, waking up late, playing till late in the night, taking life as it came... we were very good friends. We had a ton of fun; I was honestly hoping that... I could enjoy my retirement from Pokemon Battles by being his pet after he... settled down. I was going to ask my Trainer to let me stay with him. But... it's obvious that he doesn't need me anymore, and... he's not the same human I thought I'd lost."
She frowned as she looked at him.
"The day he... vanished from our lives, I tried and 'failed' to save him from a weird Pokemon in a weird bubble thing, you and he called a 'Space-Time Distortion'. He was pulled in and I was just outside of it... all that was left of him... an extremely tiny fragment of his jacket, and a corner of his phone. I tried so hard to find him, I searched endlessly... I was the 'last' to give up the search... but even then, I only clung to hope of him coming back to us. So, when I saw him again, six years... I just thought, never again... 'never again'... will I let anything bad happen to him. I had to protect him, I couldn't let his father down or 'him' down ever again. He was so different but... I just thought, he's back... my trainer's son is back, his wife's little boy was back... my friend... he's back!"
He sniffed as he looked back at her with a sad smile.
"I couldn't believe how much he'd changed... at first I... didn't care, he was back... but, he was different, I have to accept that now." He said with a final sigh. "He's not the carefree college guy sleeping in his old room till eleven in the morning enjoying his break from school that I slept on to enjoy his warmth. He isn't the same average scrawny guy I was friends with since childhood anymore. He's... grown up... he doesn't need me to protect him anymore."
She sighed, nodding in understanding, they had their disagreements, but in this... they were kindred spirits. She knelt down and pulled him into a hug, letting him sob a little at the fact that he was saying goodbye to a very good friend. She patted his back, and they shared a nuzzle of friendship with one another.
"Why don't you go say goodbye to him?" She asked quietly. "If he's so important, shouldn't you..."
"I don't want to prolong it anymore, besides... he can always 'visit' me whenever he wants, or vice versa. Also... don't think I didn't notice you kissing him back at that campsite." He said with a half-hearted smile. "I... won't judge or... ask... it's none of my business, just promise me one thing... if you two... have one, name one after 'me' please?"
She looked a little downtrodden, but smiled, nodding in acceptance. "I'll take good care of him, he's my Warden after all, and more..."
Weaver nodded as they seperated, and he took one last deep breath before reaching down, picking up his Pokeball and, with a sly wink, leapt up and ran off into the night. She sighed as she waved him goodbye. They had loathed and hated each other at points in their short time, but she would have happily endured 'years' with him by her and Dominick's side. He was just afraid to lose his friend a second time, knowing the truth now, she harbored no ill will anymore.
Speaking of her Warden and being by his side, she turned and walked to the cabin where they were temporarily staying, until he could build a proper home for them.
(Enter Dominick's PoV)
Dominick closed the curtains and sealed the windows, putting out the fireplace and leaving only a few light stick lanterns up so that there was 'some' visibility. He heard the door open and turned to see Jessica walk in, alone, closing the door and locking it.
"What's wrong? What happened to Weaver?"
She shook her head and walked over to him, smiling sadly as she sat beside him on the bed. "He's gone back home, to be with your parents."
"Oh... I thought..." He muttered sadly, wishing he could have at least said goodbye to his friend.
"Don't worry, you can always visit him whenever, or even he can visit you... he said." She said with a smile. "So... this is our first night together in a home, alone... thoughts?"
He looked at her and sighed. "I still have a lot to pay back... I have to find a place where we can live, just us, close to your territory so you can remain as the Lady of the Cliffs, I have to learn how to farm, I have a lot of things to figure out but... at least I have a path to follow."
She nodded with a smirk as she wrapped her arms around him and turned his head slowly toward her. "Yes... but for tonight at least... we can put all of that side and make it wait until 'tomorrow'... tonight... I want us... to set aside everything else and..." She leaned closer and gently 'kissed his lips, licking his lips and moaning in delight as she wrapped her arms around him, pulling him to lie on top of her. "Mhmm... and... stop being my 'warden' in public and make me your mate in private."
He nodded as he pushed back into her lips and started kissing and making out with her again. Her lips were a little larger than his because of her 'large' stature, but she didn't care as she cooed in delight, wrapping her legs around him and hugging him tightly to her body.
She did not care for his species difference compared to her, sure, she said that she would not let 'any' Pokemon sire her offspring, but... nothing was said about her 'warden' siring her offspring. She'd always had a fondness for him over the years, only during that 'trial' where he survived against her, saving her from herself in the frenzied state.
Yes, she smirked as he began kissing her neck, then slowly began to kiss lower and lower, kissing her breasts, her nipples, her chest, working his way down her body and making her gasp in tiny waves of pleasure. Yes, that had been a test, a trial, her species were loners by default, they only 'accepted' a mate if they could match or best them in battle. He had survived against her, saved her, and proclaimed his love for her... those were the first words that she heard when she came to her senses. In that moment, she couldn't have been happier with her Warden anymore then she already had been.
"Ooooh sinnoh... oh Almighty Sinnoh..." She moaned as she stretched her arms above her head, smiling as she enjoyed his touches, feeling his kissing lower and lower until he was at her nether region. "Ah... oooh... ooh ya... mmhmmm yea... oooh yes Dominick..."
Dominick saw the entrance to her sex, a puffed slit that was starting to twitch ever so slightly, twitching only because of her arousal, but otherwise had not once been touched, by her or by another. This meant that she was truly 'virgin' to the ways of sex, but it seemed despite that she instinctively was enticing him to taste her.
He looked up at her and saw her playfully snicker before winking, nodding in approval, spreading her legs slightly wider to give him easier access.
With her permission to touch her sex, he leaned forward and licked.
"Ah... oooh yes... Almighty Sinnoh yes, oooh..." She moaned as she felt his tongue pierce her sacred spot.
As a Noble, she was not 'expected' to mate often, she was only expected, according to her mother, to mate and sire her heir when it was time. That was why she had her, she was 'supposed' to step down... in time. But Jessica didn't care about that, she wanted to mate with Dominick because she loved him, after all of the hardship he endured, losing his memories, having to find a new purpose in life, thinking he'd never get back and see his family, friends and girlfriend, and then getting back only to find out his girlfriend abandoned him, moved on, his parents sold all of his belongings, being saddled with debt, and still having no purpose in life...
She wanted to give him something special, something that he could claim was 'his' and his alone.
Her heart.
She loved him, and so she cooed at his touches, feeling him suckle and lick inside of her sex and at her entrance, her sex secreting her sex nectar. Dominick could feel her excitement through her pussy, he tasted the inside of her soft walls and could even taste her essence, slowly trickling onto his tongue. It had a lightly bitter taste, but it still tasted sweet to his mouth and so he kept suckling and licking her insides, trying to get more out of her.
"Ah... ah... ooh... yes... mhmmmyea... oooh yea... mmfvvvyea Dominick... ooh you 'are' my Warden... oooh yes you 'are'..." She moaned as she 'wished' she could just pull him closer, but alas her claws were 'not' designed for that.
He gently rubbed her thighs, stroking her legs and buttocks, feeling her wonderful muscular form and her curvy body. She was a beautiful specimen for a Sneasler, if there any male Sneasler around they'd fight tooth and claw to have her for themselves, she could have had her pick. The fact that she was all his...
"Ah... oh... yes... ah...ahh hah hash... hah... hahah haha... hah... ooho yes, oohyooes... ooh Dominick don't stop... oh that feels good... ooouh yesh... Oh Almighty Sinnoh don't let this end..."
She panted and stared at him with lusty eyes, locking her legs in place and resisting with all her might to not drag him by her claws and get him inside of her already. Her body was being wracked by waves of pleasure the likes of which she never felt. The closest she felt to this kind of 'feeling' was when he massaged her sore muscles after a hard day of battling Piloswines in the Alabaster Icelands!
She cooed and panted, twisted in pleasure and delight, wishing this never ended as she felt herself getting hotter and more desirable to him. Her body craved more, it wanted him to penetrate her already and make her his!
He began poking inside of her sex with his tongue harder and faster, licking and touching the insides of her soft walls, tasting more of her essence and causing her to gasp in pleasure. She moaned harder and wrapped her legs tighter, feeling him inside of her sex and just feeling herself going crazy, unable to do more than this because of her damned claws.
"Oh... fuuuuck... yes... fuuuuh... I'm... close... I feel... oh... Almighty Sinnoh... yes... yes... hah... ah... ahahah hah hah... haaaaaaah~!" She screamed as her waist thrust forward, into his face.
She squirted her essence over him, soaking his tongue and making him lap it down quickly. She moaned and panted for several moments before she slowly calmed down, smiling as he kissed her body, using his sleeve to clean his face and then kiss her on the lips again.
She truly was a beautiful Pokemon to him, but to her, he was an amazing human. She glanced down and smirked at the mighty tent pitched in his trousers.
She nodded at him and climbed off the bed to kneel before him, signaling him to release the 'beast'.
"Uhm... I'm sorry if it's not..." He began saying, but she smirked and shook her head.
"Who am I going to compare you to?" She asked slyly as she shifted closer, watching as he slowly undid his pants and went wide eyed in surprise.
She was amazed at his tool, and inwardly joked that he was afraid 'this' would be 'unsatisfying' to her? He wasn't even at full mast, and already he was pushing six inches, and his girth would easily fill her sex just going on her eyes.
Still, to ease his... 'fears'...
"Just so you know, you already put to shame a male of my size." She whispered. "Now you see why I call you, 'Big-D', because your big to me."
Giggling at the blush on his face, she leaned closer, kissed the tip of his tool, greeting it for the first time and saying a silent prayer to Almighty Sinnoh. Then she licked her lips greedily and started licking her Warden's tool.
"Oooh... yea... that feels good Jessica." Dominick whispered as he gently placed his hands on her shoulders and began rubbing them.
She nodded as she was pleased to hear his moans of pleasure, but she had a tool to get ready. It was big, but it could get bigger, and she wanted him to enjoy their first time to the fullest extent. She licked from the base of his tool to the tip of its head. She adjusted her mouth so she could lick around and coax it to full readiness. She wrapped her tongue around the whole thing and played with it, until she had gotten a full taste of his scent on her tongue to ingrain it into her memory. Then she took a deep waft... and plunged the whole thing into her mouth.
"Ooooh shit... Jessica... oh Sinnoh..." He moaned as she gulped and sucked him just as hard as he did her. "Fuuuuck... oooh Jessica... your mouth is so... good oh shit..."
She just bobbed her head up and down, tasting his dick in her mouth entirely, feeling it touch the back of her throat and then pulling it out, before plunging it back in at a slow and steady pace, licking and lathering it in her tongue's caressing touches each time it came out or went in. Inwardly she delighted in her mother's advice, telling her that humans actually 'did' make worthy candidates for mating, when asked what qualities in a mate she should look for.
She had told her, you know the traditions of our species, fight them, if they are worthy, you will know it... but if you happen to find a human worthy, then just know... you have my blessings. Also, she giggled to her in passing before leaving to join the Savior of Hisui, 'Male humans are 'bigger' than the males of our kind, so that's a plus~!'
She had been right, he was 'big', maybe he was average among humans, maybe he was low, or maybe he was higher, either way she didn't care. If this Jessica girl dumped him in favor of another guy, she missed out on this beast he had in his trousers. She wasn't going to let it go to waste!
She began bobbing up and down, gently licking it faster and faster, increasing her pace to get it ready until she felt instinctively that he was at full mast, and especially hearing his moans of pleasure getting stronger, and feeling his waist thrust into her mouth.
"Oh... fuck... oah... hah... hah... yes... oh yes, oh Jessica... oh that feels good, oh Almighty Sinnoh... oh I want to put it in already!"
Those were the magic words, she smirked and looked up at him with a gleam in her eyes, before she slammed her mouth down, taking his rod all the way to the base, and then 'slooowly' pulling it out. It left her mouth with a loud 'pop', and she giggled as she watched it twitch.
"Ready my Warden?"
He nodded and she gently nudged him onto his back, before climbing onto the bed and spreading her legs over his rod which twitched and reached for her sacred flower. She leaned down and spread her claws across the bed, doing her best to not let them hurt him or their bed. She smiled as she took a deep breath, before leaning down and kissing him one last time while he wrapped his arms around her waist to help control her actions.
After one last kiss, she looked down at their sex tools, her pussy and his dick, both twitching and trying to meet the other, and nodded to him, granting him permission to claim her purity.
"Thank you, my Jessica... I'm putting it in..."
"You're welcome... my Dominick... claim me!"
Verbal permission granted, he tugged her body down to his, and slowly inserted his dick into her pussy. He pushed into her body, causing her to gasp in pleasure, then she took the initiative and thrust herself down, impaling herself and breaking her virgin barrier.
"Haagh..." She moaned as he stretched her instantly, but the pain was only temporary.
After a few moments she settled down and nodded, saying she was fine, and soon her began to lift her up, showing the lines of red coating his dick. Then he pushed her up and down, lifting her and making her moan in pleasure as he stretched her virgin walls, feeling his girth spread her walls and his length poke the entrance to her wall.
"Nnnhm... Oh... fuck... yes... you're so tight... oh you're so tight, it feels wonderful inside of you Jessica!" He moaned.
"Nnnh... yea... oh yes you feel big... how does... the body... of a Noble feel..." She asked seductively as he pushed inside of her, gently using his dick to kiss her womb. "I'm a pure-blooded Noble, last... of my line... oh yes... oooh you are a lucky Warden... oh you feel wonderful... mmmaybe I'm the lucky one... oooh yes Almighty Sinnoh yes!"
She smiled as she bounced up and down his shaft, sighing in delight and purring in pleasure as he pushed in and out, his dick being coated in her sex's juices, closing her eyes and just basking in the waves of gentle pleasure he sent through her body. Each time he pushed in and spread her walls, she could just feel every inch of his dick, and when he pulled out, she could feel her pussy tighten around it, trying to keep it inside.
She snickered as he slowly picked up the pace, enjoying his pace and just letting him thrust in and out of her sex. She sighed and leaned into him, wrapping her arms around the bed and kissing him deeply, moaning into his mouth, even as he kept lifting her waist up and down, continuing to push in and out.
"Mhmmmmm mhha... oh you feel so good Jessica."
"Mhmm then let's see if I can make you feel 'better'..." She whispered as she took control now.
She raised her hips higher and slammed down.
"Aha..."
She did it again and slammed down.
"Ahhhah..."
"Oooh fuck... fuck that... feels nice."
"You like that?" She asked, doing it again and making them both moan out.
"Oh yea... oh yea... fuck..." He whispered as he reached up and began to grope her chest, feeling her tiny flat mounds and grasping at them.
As a Sneasler she had breasts, it was in her nature to be able to feed her young during their early months, but they were still very flat. Despite that however, she cooed in delight, leaning her head back as she continued to slam up and down on his dick, enjoying his caressing touches.
"Ah... hah... ah... ah... oh yea... oh fuck... oh fuck me... oh yes, Almighty Sinnoh yes... oh harder... I want to go harder inside of you."
"Mhmmhya,,, yea... you want me that bad... oh yea... Almighty Sinnoh, ah... yes... ah... Hah... hah ah ahh hah!" She moaned to him, smiling as she wanted him to take the lead. "Oh yea... come on... do it, take me, make me yours, show me who my Warden is... make me your Noble!"
Taking her desire to see him take the lead, he did just that, he gripped her tightly and flipped her over, surprising her as she instinctively lifted her legs up and wrapped them around his waist, even placing her clawed hands above her head so she didn't accidentally hurt him.
Then he began to thrust harder inside of her sex, pushing deeper and harder into her, ramming the entrance to her womb with his dick.
"Oooh yea, yes... ah... hah... oh yea... oh Almighty Sinnoh yes!" She screamed in ecstasy, moaning in delight and pleasure as he pummeled her body with his male tool. "That's my Warden... oh yea... fuck me harder... harder... make me yours... oh yea... fill me... don't stop... oh Almighty Sinnoh take me harder..."
He pulled out and slammed into her, making her flinch in pleasure, repeating it and going at this pace of pausing, pulling out and then ramming right back in.
"Aah... ahh... ahhhho... yes... fuck... yes... ooh yes... oh you feel wonderful...!"
"Ah... yea... oh my... Ahmmmph... mmmfm mmmph!"
Her lips were taken by his mouth, and their tongues began to play and dance again, even as he shoved harder and harder into her, ramming her entrance and demanding entry into her womb. She felt him grip her arms and hold them down, making her wiggle in delight as she enjoyed the feeling of being dominated by a worthy mate, and she had a winner in that. He pulled out, rammed back in, then pulled out again and repeated.
"Hmmmph... mmmhff... hmmfph!"
Then he gave a mighty shove, and kept pushing harder and harder, until finally he pushed into her womb.
"MMMMph hah... oooh yes... that's my... mate... oooh you 'are' my mate!" She cooed as he massaged her breasts.
"And you are my mate... my beloved... my Jessica..."
He paused for a second to catch their breaths, before he picked up the pace, both of their tongues hanging out and trading quick kisses.
"Hah... hah... oh, harder... oh yes, harder... harder... oh yea harder, Almighty Sinnoh harder please! Oh, don't stop, by the Almighty do not stop... ooooh yea~!" She pleaded, feeling like putty in his embrace, feeling him kissing her neck.
"Nnnh... hah... oh... shit... fuck you... feel wonderful, you just got tighter... oh fuck..."
She indeed got tighter, his dick was gripped in a very tight vice as she locked her legs in place, stopping him from pulling too far out. She was feeling herself getting close to something, something telling her that the end was near, and her body was getting ready for this 'something'.
"Harder, harder... ah... hah... oh don't stop, harder... please, please Almighty Sinnoh, Hhah.. Hah. Oh yea, oh yes!"
He thrust harder, trying to grant her wish, but he was reaching his limit, he could feel his release about to happen.
"I'm... I'm about... to come... I can't... hold it... nnnh hah... hah... Heh... ah... Hah hah hahh agh hagh..."
"Ah harder... no... more... more... yes harder Dominick, yes... hah hah hah gha nngha hah hagh hahahhah gha hah hahahahhahahahHAAAAA!"
"Gaaaaah..."
Both of them came in a massive explosion, Jessica unable to restrain herself as she warpped her arms around his torso, locking her claws together so they didn't hurt him, but pulling him so close he couldn't even budge an inch, even using her legs to get him to push as deep into her sex as possible. Dominick meanwhile was releasing spurt after spurt of his cum, releasing his gooey seed deep inside of her sex and filling her womb with his essence.
"Hah... hah... ghaaah... haaaah... ooohaaah..."
"Aha... hah... ghah... heeeah... oyea... mmmhaa.."
She could feel him filling her up, she could even 'see' him filling her womb, she looked down to see a tiny bulge growing where he had cum, getting bigger and bigger with each little thrust he made to release more of his seed into her. She moaned in pleasure each time as he did it three more times, before she settled down and nuzzled her beloved mate.
After some gentle nuzzling she kissed him and carefully, used one hand to lift a blanket over them so they could sleep together.
"Don't even 'think' of pulling out..." She whispered with a playful glare. "I want you to stay knotted in me until morning..."
"Uh..."
"Shhhh... sleep now... it's late... and I'm tired..." She sighed happily, loving the feel of her Warden still inside of her body and feeling him so close to her. "Haaaaah..."
Not seeing any way out of his situation, he breathed in as well, and gave her a final kiss on the lips before leaning in and sleeping with his beloved Jessica.
But while he began to sleep, Jessica smiled as her ultimate plan came together, because inside of her body, countless warriors sped through her toward a solitary egg. In her mind, she pictured them, swarming this little egg with the symbol of Almighty Sinnoh on it, the symbol of her proud lineage to the great Alpha, the proof of her lineage to one of the ten companions of the Ancient Hero of Legend, blessed by Almighty Sinnoh.
They swarmed... they wiggled... and one eventually, burrowed its way inside and nestled itself into place, kissing it... making a heart appear on the egg.
She wiggled in delight in her sleep, a small part of her happy that she had a winner in her arms.
(Two months Later)
"Hah... done... what do you think of it?" He asked Jessica as she stretched and rested her arms, happy that they were done for the day.
She smiled at their new home, it was a beautiful hut, reminiscent of the one they had with the Pearl Clan. But, since 'they' could build it, they made it a lot bigger, with multiple chambers. They had a nice bedroom, a dining area, a little dressing room for him, and finally a 'bathroom' with a working shower.
Meaning no more taking a bath in the river and risking getting bitten by Basculins.
Over the past two months they had worked together tirelessly, selling the ores and stones, and occasional gold nuggets to repay his debts, and it had thankfully been finished this month just last week. Debts paid, he sent pictures of his new home that he was building with Jessica on a small location near Mt. Coronet where she claimed her mother first met the Savior of Hisui, just a few years before he arrived. Their home even bore the emblem of the Pearl Clan.
His parents wrote to him and asked if they could visit his home next week, and he was happy to say yes because now he could show off his hard work.
Jessica was also proud of Dominick, he had indeed kept his promise, impressing her by building a house using the skills he learned in Hisui with his own hands. Though he impressed the 'wrong' Jessica, by his own words.
Now that it was done, he could purchase some furniture, and he was going to go into town to look for basic items similar to what they had back in Hisui.
She yawned and wrapped her arms around her Warden, making him chuckle and lean into her and kiss her on the lips.
They had to learn the hard way though, that in Sinnoh, a relationship between a human and a Pokemon was 'forbidden'. He didn't have a license to take but the Pokemon League could still very well take her away from him and send him to jail. So, they kept their relationship a secret in public, yet another reason why he wanted to live away from any town, village, or anyone, so he and she could be happy together.
"We still have a lot more to do, but it's a start, right?" He asked her.
She nodded; it was indeed a start.
"Yep... you built the house with your own two hands for 'Jessica', just like you swore you would when you came back." She said happily, before she stood up straight and stretched her claws out. "Glad you made it for me and you Dominick. Now... all you need to do... is keep your 'other' promise!"
That caused him to blink in surprise as he looked at her. "What other promise?"
"Oh... something about... having 'five' children with her?" She snickered as she glanced at him.
Looking confused, she grinned and tapped her belly with one claw, specifically the ever so slight 'bump' that was growing every day, nodding giddily.
"One down... four to go... 'Warden' Dominick~!"
She snickered as she hugged him and kissed him for a loving moment before she pulled away and looked up at the sky, smiling happily as she gave a silent prayer... to Great Palkia, Great Dialga, even Great Giratina, and especially Almighty Sinnoh.
'Oh, great ones... hear my thoughts, and let them be carried across time and space, let them be heard by the other Lords and Ladies of my time. I am the last of the Nobles, last in the line of a great and proud lineage. I will carry on my duty, and protect the last member of the Pearl Clan, protect this land that once was my mother's throne. I am Lady of the Cliffs, Jessica the Sneasler... Last of the Nobles. My lineage will carry on, for as long as I can. Together, with my Warden... and mate... Dominick, of the Pearl Clan.'
She couldn't see them, but for a moment, perhaps in her imagination, she could just picture them in her imagination, all ten of them, Lord of the Plains, Wyrdeer, Lady of the Swamps, Ursaluna, Lord of the Skies, Braviary, Lady of the Ridge, Lilligant, Lord of the Woods, Kleavor, Lord of the Isles, Arcanine, Lord of the Tundra, Avalugg, Lord of the Seas, Basculegion, Lord of the Hollow, Electrode, and finally Lady of the Cliffs, Sneasler, all sitting in the heavens high above the Temple of Sinnoh, looking down on her. Her mother was smiling, nodding in approval.
"RAAAAWR!" Lord Avalugg shouted, his voice like a thunderous avalanche, as they all awaited, with all of the other Lords and Ladies of their respective lineages, past and future, ancient or otherwise, awaiting her arrival in the Halls of Origin...

"Uuuugh... why did I let you talk me into this?" The guy complained to his friend as they trudged down the mountain, their aches having aches and their Pokemon weary and weak.
"I'm telling you, one of these days... one of my 'easy street' plans will work..." The other guy muttered wearily.
"My feet are 'killing me'... we took the wrong turn... we're on the other side of Mt. Sinnoh for pity's sake!"
"Oh, stop complaining... just wait... next time we see that Pokemon, we're going to just throw Quick Balls, those things are almost guaranteed catches!"
[Thou art advised to heed thine warning...]
They stopped and looked around in confusion, hearing the voice of a Pokemon reverberating in their heads.
"Did you hear that?"
