Here's Chapter 20

Chapter 20: Reunited

"Nami!", a muffled voice yelled.

The orange-haired girl's eyes fluttered open and her blurry vision was met with... Purple?

Carina's head snapped up from Nami's chest, "Nami! Thank god! I thought you were dead!".

Nami stared at the girl blankly. Was she still asleep? Carina couldn't actually be there... Right?

"Carina?", she asked skeptically, trying to sit up, "Are you actually here?". The other girl gently grabbed her shoulders and helped her raise her torso from the ground, the orange-haired girl groaning when the numbness in her body slowly started to go away. She hurt everywhere. She looked down and saw that her shirt was gone... The only thing keeping her modest was her blood-soaked bra and a piece of ripped white cloth wrapped around her shoulder... Was that a neck hole?

She looked down at the rest of her body. Thankfully, she still had her shorts on. Although, they weren't in great shape. The khaki-colored fabric had several slices in them, dried blood darkening the fabric. Her foot caught her attention and she saw it wrapped in another piece of ripped white cloth. Wait a second... Hadn't she been wearing a white shirt? Nami scowled when the realization hit her. She'd liked that shirt... She couldn't really complain, though. She was still alive after all.

"Me? What about you?!", Carina exclaimed, "What the hell are you doing here?". She was still slightly in shock. There she was climbing through the vents and then suddenly, boom, no more vents... She'd almost died in the fall, somehow managing to not get crushed by all the falling debris. Then, she came to an even bigger shock. An orange-haired girl she knew, covered in blood, lying on the ground amongst all the chaos...

The violette watched as she tried to stand and went to stop her, "Nami. Slow down. I patched you up alright, but I'm no doctor.".

Nami knocked the hand away and slowly stood to her feet, "Obviously.". A part of her was grateful, but she wished the purple-haired girl had used her own damn shirt to 'patch her up'.

"Nami?", Carina questioned. She was being very weird. All the blood made her think the orangette might not be thinking straight.

"Why did you ask me to come here back then?", Nami asked, shooting the girl a measured look. The fog in her brain was receding slightly and with it, her recent memories were becoming clearer... She remembered Naomi's words.

"She used to be my crewmate.", she looked at Nami with a big smile, "She used to be a Treasure Pirate.".

"Why did you ask me to come to your old hideout?", she asked, glaring at the violette. She was pretty sure she knew why, but she wanted to hear her say it.

Carina paled. So... She knew... That's probably why she was being the way she was. "Nami, It's more complicated than you think!", she placated, waving her hands in front of herself, "Just sit back down and I'll explain!".

The orange-haired girl ignored her and looked around the area. Half of the arena was completely sealed off by stone, the half Naomi was thrown toward. A part of her still couldn't believe she'd won... Her body turned slowly and her eyes found a door in the wall behind her. She had no idea if it was the door Naomi was guarding or the one she entered through but she was sure as hell about to find out.

"Nami, just wait!", Carina yelled, following after her, "You're hurt! Just sit bac-".

"Did you see Sanji before you got here?", the orangette asked, interrupting her and continuing in the direction of the door.

"What?", the purple-haired girl asked. What the hell was a Sanji?

Nami waved her off. She wouldn't have forgotten meeting him. Her hand grasped the iron door and it took almost all of her strength to pull it open but she managed it, stepping out into a long winding hallway lined with doors. She wanted to start looking for the treasure but with the alarm having sounded, there was almost no chance of her sneaking around anymore. She needed her muscle...

Without knowing where either Zoro or Luffy was, the orangette was left with Sanji. Admittedly, she didn't really know where he was either, but at least she knew he was somewhere in the mountain... Hopefully, he was alright.

"Nami! Slow down for two seconds!", Carina begged as she followed the orange-haired girl out of the door.

Nami continued to ignore her and slowly make her way down the tunnel. She needed to find Sanji. She assumed that the two converging paths had to connect back up somewhere and she was going to find that somewhere. This wasn't over yet. She still had treasure to steal. She glanced back at the violette following her... Hopefully, she didn't get in the way.

"I was never really a part of his crew! I mean I was... But only at first.", Carina yelled, "I was always looking for a chance to leave... To escape!". She slapped her hand over her mouth. She hadn't meant to yell.

That got Nami to pause as she looked down the hallway, turning in her direction. "What do you mean?", she asked, before turning back and waving the girl to follow, "Walk and talk.". She still needed to find Sanji, but the other girl had piqued her interest.

Carina sighed to herself as their footsteps resumed... It was the best she was probably going to get. "I joined up with them when they were still big in the East Blue.", she began to explain, "I was young, stupid, and too greedy for my own good back then... I was too dumb to see how much of a psycho Mad Treasure was and, eventually, it all just got to be too much.".

The purple-haired girl thrust her thumb back in the direction they'd walked from, "I'm assuming you fought Naomi in there?"

Nami nodded her head and tried to keep listening. It wasn't easy with the amount of focus she had to put into keeping herself upright.

The violette let her hand drop back down to her side. She'd thought so. The woman's dyna-crystal arrows were the only thing that could have made that kind of explosion. Plus, she'd fallen into one of the arenas, so, it either had to be her or Psycho P. "Naomi acted like my friend at first but... She was just as psychotic as her captain.", she trailed off, "...Let's just say, I'm not upset about her being dead.". The memories they'd made as crew mates weren't good ones, mostly those of blood and pain.

The orange-haired girl continued forward. She knew the feeling.

"I didn't talk to Psycho P, much, but I always felt like he was looking at me. Sometimes I even felt his eyes on me when he wasn't even around.", Carina said, a slimy feeling spreading across her body while thinking of the man, "He has a devil fruit power that lets him turn himself invisible.". The violette let those words sink in before she looked at Nami with apologetic eyes, "If this Sanji of yours fought him... I'm sorry, but... He's probably dead.".

The words stopped Nami dead in her tracks. She turned and shot the girl a serious stare, freezing her in place, "You're wrong.". She broke the eye contact and turned back, continuing her slow journey. She meant the words but a part of her was scared. Sanji was strong but if Carina was telling the truth and his opponent could turn invisible... How could he have won? The orangette shook her head and banished the thoughts. She needed to focus on what was in front of her, her footsteps were starting to get wobbly. Her eyes glanced at both sides of the halls, doors passing her on either side. What were all of them for?

"They used to be rooms for the crew. We'd come to stay here every so often.", Carina said, seeing her companion looking curiously at the doors.

Nami's footsteps halted immediately. Why hadn't she said anything before?! At any moment someone could burst out and attack them! She was having trouble just walking, forget about fighting! The purple-haired girls's footsteps passed her still form and she turned, smirking at her, "Like I said. Used to.".

That got the orangette moving again, a small sigh of relief leaving her lips.

"It's the other part of the reason I quit the crew.", Carina mentioned over her echoing footsteps. She looked forward with a glare as she thought back to the past, "I only really stayed with the Treasure Pirates because they scared me shitless. I thought that if I quit, they would kill me.".

Nami's gaze softened slightly looking at the back of a purple head. She knew all too well what it felt like to be a prisoner of a pirate.

"It wasn't until I realized that it didn't matter if I left or stayed that I decided to leave.", the girl said, shivering slightly.

"What do you mean?", Nami asked.

Carina pointed at the doors still lining the hallway, "As I said, we used to stay on the island from time to time, usually when unloading a haul. These rooms were where most of the crew stayed. The crew was pretty large back then but... ", she swallowed loudly like her throat was suddenly robbed of moisture. "One night...", she swallowed again, "Some of the other crew members were starting to get upset about how the spoils were being split. Or... weren't. ".

The orangette's eyes widened slightly. She already didn't like where this story was going.

"Mad Treasure kept almost everything for himself and his crew was starting to be bothered by that.", the purple-haired girl's footsteps never stopped, but they had some shake to them now. "They thought that if they all asked him, surely he couldn't refuse. What's a captain without his crew, amiright?", she laughed, humorlessly, a moment passing before she began again. "So that's what they did. At the next full crew meeting right here in this very hideout, they asked him.", her head pointed down to her feet as if the weight of the memory was physical, "And they died for it... Every. Single. One.".

Nami knew it was coming but she'd hoped she was wrong. She made no reaction to the girl's story but she began to feel for her. Carina had seen the evil of pirates just as she had.

"I still dream about that night sometimes... It was chaos.", she said, softly, the event playing just behind her eyes. "And even with everything going on, I still managed to be a greedy little shit.", Carina laughed self-deprecatingly, before continuing, "I managed to steal some gold and haul it to a raft while everything was going on. After that, I paddled as hard as I could and eventually made it to land but I was almost half dead from starvation.". The frown lifted from her face and a small smile replaced it, "I'll always be thankful to the people who nursed me back to health. They were a kind couple.". She laughed a rueful little laugh, "I never even got their names before leaving... Didn't feel like I deserved to know, for some reason.".

The purple-haired girl sighed to herself before directing her smile at Nami. "Now I'm just a thief who only cares about herself and money.", she laughed into the air at her own words, genuinely this time, "You'd think my greediness would have gone away after experiencing all that, but it never did. For some reason I just... Enjoy it I guess.".

Silence hung between the two girls before Nami eventually replied, softly, "I'm sorry you had to experience something like that.". Her story made the orangette think of her own past. "Why come back here, though, if this place carries such a bad memory?", she asked. Maybe she really was just that greedy...

"I don't really know, honestly.", Carina answered, looking down at her feet, "I think I just wanted to see Mad Treasure hurt.". Her head came back up and she looked down the hallway as if seeing something only she could see, "And the only way to hurt that psychopath is to take his treasure from him.".

The answer sounded truthful to Nami's ears and that was enough to trust her words, for now.

Quiet settled between the two as they continued to walk, the echoing of their footsteps the only sound being made. It stayed this way for a while until they came to the end of the tunnel. Well, the end of THEIR tunnel. Several new tunnels branched from the area they'd walked into.

Carina halted, forcing Nami to do the same, and stood there silently as if deciding what she should do. The moment ended and she turned to face Nami, her decision made. "If you still want to look for this Sanji guy, I can take you to where he probably is.", she shot the orangette a serious look, "But I'm telling you right now. If Psycho P won, you're on your own. I'm not staying to help you just so we can both die.".

Nami shrugged her shoulders. She would probably say something similar if she was in her shoes. Honestly, she might not have even helped in the first place... "He won. Just trust me.", she said, trying to sound more confident than she felt. Her footsteps followed Carina's as they set off down a particular hallway, neither of them certain of what was awaiting them at their destination.

'Don't let me down, Sanji.'.

Blue-grey eyes slowly drifted open. Had he just heard the voice of an angel?

Sanji's mind slowly focused through its waking haze and he eventually began to look around, trying to figure out where he was. If he remembered correctly, he'd been fighting someone... Wait... Or had he been in the kitchen? His memory was confusing him. He'd definitely been in the kitchen, but he had also definitely been fighting someone... Not in the kitchen...

A series of cracks and pops came from underneath him and his eyes glanced downward, meeting the sight of his boot digging into a man's neck. Said man did not look very comfortable... The chef lifted his leg and froze in shock at the tightness of his body. Damn... Someone had done a number on him and couldn't help but feel like it was probably the dead person underneath his foot. A name suddenly popped into his head and, along with it, his mind grew a little less hazy.

Psycho P. The man with the terrible raps... The man who could turn invisible...

As he set his foot back on solid ground and looked at his dead opponent, Sanji sighed. His fire was quelled for now. The man who had stolen one of his dreams from him had paid for it with his life. "Women's bath!", he cried out in anguish before he could stop himself. His pity party didn't last long, however. He needed to get moving. The blond painfully stepped out of the small crater he was in and looked at the wall of the arena. The door Psycho P had been previously guarding rested there and he didn't hesitate to make his way to it.

'Just wait for me, my Nami-Swan.', Sanji thought to himself, grasping the handle of the iron door. He pulled, wincing when blood spurted from some of his wounds, but didn't stop until it was all the way open.

Almost dead or not, he was getting that treasure... He was getting his kiss.

"Wait... .", Nami said.

She was glad Carina was there, otherwise, she definitely would have gotten lost. Now that things had been explained, her ire at the other girl had died down and they were able to converse candidly.

But what she'd just said couldn't be true.

"You came here because... You heard a story?", the orangette asked incredulously. A nagging feeling settled in the back of her head. It couldn't be... Bushy black hair and a long nose popped into her head... Seriously, it couldn't be... Right?

Carina laughed at the question and the expression on Nami's face, "Yeah!".

"What does that even mean?", Nami asked. There was no way. She refused to believe it.

"Ever since you refused me, I'd been looking for the right person to help me but for some reason, no one ever fit.", the purple-haired girl answered. She'd asked countless people but no one ever said yes, mostly due to Mad Treasure's reputation. She didn't mention any of this, though. No need to make Nami angry with her after they'd just gotten friendly, "Anyway, a couple weeks ago, I found myself in a little place called Syrup Village where this funny story was going around.".

Nami tried to hide the bewilderment from her face but found it almost impossible. "You were in Syrup?", she asked carefully. Hopefully, she hadn't stolen anything from Kaya... "What the hell were you even doing there?", she added.

"It was one of the only places in the East Blue I hadn't been to yet, at least from what the maps say.", Carina glanced over her shoulder. "You know it?", she questioned.

"Yeah...", the orange-haired girl replied in shock. What were the chances...

The violette looked at her with a critical eye, "So, you've heard the story?".

"Is it called... Butler Hunter Zoro?", Nami asked, still in shock. Wasn't that what he'd called it?

Carina burst into laughter at her companion's words. "No.", the girl said, trying to get her giggles under control, "Pirate. Pirate Hunter Zoro.".

Nami's palm smacked directly into her face, wincing as she made contact with a gash. What were the actual chances of that? They had to be slim. "Did a long-nosed kid with bushy black hair tell you this story?", she asked through her hand, "Wears a plaid bandana?". The other girl didn't even really need to answer.

"Yeah! Usopp! He's actually a pretty good storyteller. His lying though... It could definitely use some work...", Carina said, thinking back. She'd enjoyed her short stay in Syrup. She'd even asked Usopp to come with her... It definitely wasn't because she thought he was weak... Definitely not...

The orangette scoffed at the words, "You can say that again.". She was still confused though... What was it about the story Usopp told that made her come here by herself? And if she'd started sailing after them, how had they gotten there at the same time?... She racked her brain and it suddenly hit her. The storm... If she had managed to sail around that storm, it was possible... The thought irritated her a little bit. Stupid storm, slowing them down...

"I could tell that parts of the story he told me were exaggerated, but the whole time... I didn't hear a single outright lie.", she explained, "And I'm pretty good at spotting lies.".

"Still though, why would that make you come here by yourself?", Nami asked. She just didn't get that part. Just how good of a storyteller was Usopp? Thinking about the boy, she couldn't help but smile slightly. She hoped he and Kaya were doing alright.

Carina took a moment before responding as if thinking, "It's strange... When I listened to Usopp tell his story, it felt more like a first-hand account than an actual story, as fantastical as it was.". The purple-haired girl quieted, trying to figure out how to word what she wanted to say, "I figured that Pirate Hunter Zoro must be real. And if he was real, I knew he'd be strong. But that wasn't all that pushed me to come here.".

The orangette remained quiet, waiting for her to continue.

"The last bit of the story ends with Pirate Hunter Zoro sailing out to sea in search of treasure...", as the words came out of her mouth she could hear how crazy she was sounding, but she continued, "For some reason, something about that just seemed strange... Why would a bounty hunter be searching for treasure?". It wasn't that she didn't think bounty hunters would look for treasure, it was the fact that it was a story... In terms of storytelling, it just wasn't what she expected from someone who was obviously good at telling stories. She expected the bounty hunter to go look for more pirates to hunt... It just didn't make sense to her.

"That question, combined with the fact that I hadn't heard a single lie while he was telling his story... It just kind of clicked. The treasure in the story wasn't actual treasure, but Mad Treasure.". The purple-haired girl shook her head to herself, "At least, that was the way I took it... Saying it out loud makes me realize how much of a reach it was...". It was the best way she could explain it and it still sounded ridiculous. "A part of me just knew Pirate Hunter Zoro would be here, trying to take the head of Mad Treasure. So I followed, hoping I would make it in time.", she finished, waiting for Nami to start calling her crazy.

The orangette didn't reply immediately, taking a moment to gather her thoughts, "Honestly, Carina. It sounds ridiculous.".

Carina dropped her head. It didn't really matter if the other girl believed her or not but she'd hoped she would.

"But I believe you.", Nami added, "The fact that you know Usopp's name at all would have been enough to convince me.". She couldn't even be mad at the long-nosed boy... Carina was right when she said it was a reach... Actually, it had been kind of a blessing in disguise. The thought made her open her mouth slightly in disbelief. In a way, Usopp had saved her... It was strange how the world worked sometimes.

The purple-haired girl didn't reply but a small smile spread across her lips. She was starting to like Nami even more than she already did. She'd always liked chatting with her whenever they met over the years, it was always nice talking to someone her own age.

The two walked in companionable silence for a while before Nami broke it, "I've got a question about this place if you don't mind.". It didn't really matter if she knew but she was curious.

"Shoot.", Carina replied.

"What exactly was that room you found me in?", before the purple-haired girl could answer, she asked another question, "And why was Naomi waiting for me in there?".

The violette thought about the question before responding, "Well, it's kind of com-". She stopped herself and caught Nami's falling form as her legs suddenly seemed to give out from under her. "You alright?", she asked, supporting almost all of the girl's weight on her shoulder.

"Not really.", the orange-haired girl chuckled. They'd been walking for a while now and she was tired. Really tired. "We close to Sanji yet?", she asked as they continued forward at a pace much slower than before.

Carina eased her back into walking, "It's a while... You think you can make it?". She eyed the orangette. The makeshift bandages were almost completely soaked through with blood and her skin was getting paler. She didn't look good.

"Do I have a choice?", Nami replied sarcastically. If she passed out again, she doubted Carina would be able to carry her dead weight.

The purple-haired girl thought about it for a moment before chuckling and answering honestly, "I guess not.".

"Answer my question then.", the orangette mumbled, "Keep me awake.".

Carina obliged immediately, "That room was a testing arena.".

Nami looked at the girl in confusion. A testing arena? For who? The people who entered?

"I don't think that's what they were originally meant to be, but that's what they're used for now.", the purple-haired girl said, "This hideout used to be a marine base, so they were probably used as large training areas if I had to guess."

The words were a surprise to the orange-haired girl. "This place was a marine base?", she asked.

"Yeah. I'd guess that it was probably shut down because the pirate presence in the East Blue is so tame in comparison to other parts of the world.", Carina answered, "Probably needed the manpower somewhere else rather than here.".

The answer made sense to Nami. Why waste the energy to keep this place running when it probably wasn't needed anyway?

"Anyway.", the violette got back to answering the original question, "The arenas were a way for Mad Treasure to test his two strongest crew mates. He would purposefully spread rumors of a 'secret entrance'...". Her voice drifted off, a guilty look on her face, "...The one I told you about.". She waited for her companion's anger, but it never came.

Instead, she looked down at Nami's dazed eyes, quickly beginning to explain once more, "Basically, when the entrance is used, Mad Treasure is notified and sends Psycho P and Naomi to fight them.". Carina paused to make sure Nami was listening and continued when she saw her still lucid, "Once you get through the door to the area where you and Sanji were probably split up, the alarm sounds to tell the two that opponents are approaching. It's considered a test because if they were to lose, Mad Treasure would offer the victor their position in his crew.".

The thought made Nami slightly sick... She would have been offered a place in his crew?

"Naomi and Psycho P joined before me, but Naomi told me that was how it had always been.", the violette added, "That's really all there is to it.".

The orange-haired girl looked up to ask another question but paused before she could even open her mouth... Was the blood loss making her hear things?... "Do you hear that?", she asked, looking intently down the hallway.

Carina followed her gaze and tried to listen for what she was talking about.

"N...-S...!".

What was that?... the violette stopped walking forward and dragged Nami to the wall. She definitely heard something. A voice was saying something but she couldn't quite hear what it was.

"Wait.", Nami said, struggling to get out of the other girl's grasp. It was getting closer and, with that, clearer as well.

"NA..-S.A.!".

There it was again... She knew that voice. The orange-haired girl struggled to stand but she needed to call out to him. She knew that he would win. "SANJI!", she screamed down the tunnel, much to the chagrin of her companion.

"NAMI-SWAN!", a loud voice echoed back.

Carina looked at Nami's smile and couldn't help smiling as well, a small sigh of relief leaving her. She was happy that the orangette's friend was alive. And also that it wasn't one of Mad Treasure's crew members or, god forbid, Psycho P... She was very curious how he'd survived but she was glad nonetheless.

Nami stood still and watched as a figure came quickly around a corner and skidded to a halt, her eyes widening... He looked terrible. Honestly, terrible might not even be the right word. He was downright terrifying. He was covered head to toe in blood and it looked like his suit had been put through a grinder. Even his blond locks had a reddish tint to them.

"NAMI-SWAN!", Sanji yelled frantically sprinting in her direction, his eyes widening at her bloodied form. Who had done this to his queen?! He was so focused on reaching the obviously injured girl that he didn't even notice that she wasn't wearing a shirt.

The orangette didn't care about his appearance or her injured body's pain at the moment, rushing forward and embracing the chef with all the strength she had left.

Sanji's eyes widened, feeling nothing but bliss as the girl crashed into him, even with the state his body was in. His arms snaked around her back and the two stood there, embracing.

"Thank you.", Nami whispered into his bloody chest. He'd been there right beside Luffy and Zoro. She'd probably be dead if it weren't for them and for that, she was grateful. These damn boys... Always saving her...

"Um... Hello.", Carina awkwardly waved her hand in their direction, still standing by the wall.

The chef's bloodied arms picked Nami up bridal style as he felt her body beginning to slacken and she sent him an appreciative smile, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Hello, my lady.", he would have bowed but had a woman in his arm, an injured one at that, "Might you be the wonderful Carina I've heard so much about?".

Shock bloomed on the purple-haired girl's face, she didn't think Nami would have told him about her. It took a moment, but she eventually recovered. "That's me.", she said, sending a wink in the blond's direction.

Sanji's eyes turned to hearts at the gesture, "I'm Sanji, my lady.".

"It's nice to meet you, Sanji. Nami mentioned you.", replied Carina, smiling and trying to cover her laugh. What?! His eyes were funny!... Her eyes scanned his bloodstained form while she let her giggles peter out. The violette didn't know how he did it, but if he was here it meant he beat Psycho P. Although... It looked like the battle had cost him... It didn't even look like he should be alive.

"Is that right... Nami?", the blond questioned to his beautiful goddess. He wouldn't freak out... But oh, he sooo wanted to. He tried to stop himself from looking down but he couldn't resist a glance downward, blood filling his nostrils. He'd been so worried about her that he hadn't realized the girl he was carrying was half-naked...

"Yeah, yeah. Don't let it go to your head, Cook.", she answered with a small smile, lightly laughing at the pervy look he was trying to keep hidden.

The chef's heart almost exploded in his chest but he managed to keep himself cool, sucking up the blood trying to leak from his nose, "Wouldn't dream of it.". He smiled at her before looking back up to the violette, "Shall we get a move on, Lady Carina?", he asked, gesturing in the direction he'd come from.

Carina couldn't lie to herself, when he said her name like that it made her heart beat a touch faster. However, she wouldn't be letting him know that. She sent the blond a smile instead, stepping in his direction, "That we shall, Sanji.".

"And then we came here and I got stuck in this STUPID cage. I got to see Zoro fight, though, and that was awesome!", finished Luffy. He laid on his back looking at the ceiling of his prison with a small smile. He'd missed talking to his friend. He was a really good listener!

A deep purr-like noise came from the docks and the straw-hatted teen took his eyes off the ceiling to look at his pouting friend. His black-eyed gaze found Levi's red one as the beast sat in a previously empty docking spot with his chin resting on the dry land. "Oh, come on. Don't pout at me. I know you weren't really thinking about me either. You were out there having fun of your own.", he reasoned, sending the large beast a big smile.

Luffy watched Levi lift his head to reply but he never did, a soft growl coming from his throat as he turned toward the tunnel at the far end of the space.

The straw-hatted boy followed his friend's gaze to see what had grabbed his attention, sprinting toward the bars when he saw two figures cautiously exiting the tunnel. Well, three figures. One of them was holding another. "Help! Please help me get outta here! I've been stuck in here for sooo looonnng.", the black-haired boy begged. He couldn't see who the people were but he would ask anybody at this point!

The figures froze at the voice, a moment of silence passing before one of them spoke up, "Luffy?".

Said boy's eyes widened, he knew that voice, "Sanji?".

The three figures began to slowly approach, eyes wide as saucers at seeing all the carnage in the area. Almost everything was painted red, with what they assumed was blood. A couple of bodies were spread out, but a pile of them sat close to the docks. It was a gruesome sight, to say the least.

"Sorry, Sanji...", Nami said as she looked at the cage Luffy was locked in, her eyes immediately turning to berri symbols, "Looks like Luffy gets my kiss.".

The chef immediately stopped, falling to his knees with the orangette still firmly held in his arms. He went to curse the bastard that had stolen his kiss with a thousand painful deaths but didn't. Instead, his eyes widened when he felt a plump pair of lips land on his cheek.

"But that's your reward for trying so hard.", Nami smiled, pulling away from the chef.

"NAMI-SWANNN!", Sanji yelled into the air, rising to his feet. He felt like he could do anything. He was on top of the world. There was nothing that could bring him down from the high he was experiencing.

The chef was immediately proven wrong when a massive roar came from the docks, his head quickly turning in its direction. His eyes found the dock and his vision was met with a sea beast taking up an entire spot as it hung its head out of the water.

"Levi.", Luffy said calmly, and it was all it took to silence the sea monster. He turned to who he could now see were his friends. Two of his friends, actually... He didn't know who the other girl was. His eyes gazed over Sanji and Nami. They both looked awful... Sanji was covered in bloody cuts and Nami didn't look much better... He wanted to ask them to get him out, but neither looked up to the task, even if the chef was trying to make it seem otherwise.

The straw-hatted teen smiled at the two, "Glad you guys could make it. As you can see,", he waved his hands over the gold he stood on, "I found the treasure.".

Carina was frozen by the image of the now tame sea monster with its giant head resting on the dock. How had the kid done that? All he'd said was 'Levi' and it'd immediately stopped growling. Was that thing his pet or something?... She somehow pulled her vision away from the beast and looked around the area again.

The violette had been nervous about coming in, as she was almost certain Mad Treasure would be waiting for them, but Sanji had pushed forward regardless of her warnings. Her eyes landed back on the cage holding the treasure and the black-haired boy, "Where's Mad Treasure?".

"Exploded", Luffy said, simply, as if it would make any sense at all.

"What?", all three asked in unison. What was that supposed to mean?

"Zoro exploded him.", the boy said, moving to recreate the scene. "Zoro was all, 'I'm gonna kill you'! And Treasure Guy was like 'No you're not'! And then Zoro said something really cool that I can't remember, and... Treasure Guy exploded.", he finished, recreating the explosion with his hands and making sound effects to go along with it.

All three looked at him, blankly. They still had no idea what he meant by exploded.

Carina shook her head in bewilderment. It sounded like the man was dead and if that was the case, his ship would be empty... Her eyes found the vessel she was looking for and she nudged the blond still carrying Nami, "Sanji, take Nami to that ship over there. There should be medical supplies in the doctor's quarters.". She could think about the fact that Mad Treasure was actually dead, later.

The chef understood immediately and began to walk his way toward the ship the purple-haired girl had pointed to.

"Wait! Can you guys please get me out of here before you go?", begged Luffy, watching them approach the ship at the end of the dock... He actually might die if he had to be stuck in there any longer.

"Nami first.", Sanji said simply, stepping up the ramp leading to Mad Treasures ship.

"Me first.", came Nami's voice from his arms.

"You heard 'em.", Carina said, pointing the chef to the doctor's quarters. She should be able to patch them both up well enough to keep them from dying.

"Wait! At least get Zoro!", yelled Luffy to their backs, eyeing the swordsman's unconscious form, "He could probably use some patching up too.".

Sanji huffed to himself, continuing on to his destination and yelling over his shoulder, "Yeah, yeah. I'll get him after I set Nami down."...He hadn't even known he was in the area... He'd have to ask Luffy where the shitty swordsman was when he came back out. Right now, his only focus was getting his Nami-Swan to the doctor's quarters.

Although, he would grudgingly admit... The blond turned and took a look at the surrounding area painted in red before stepping through the directed door... If Mosshead had done all that by himself...

Alright, so maybe it was a little impressive.
