Prepare you guys for a bit of history, as you guys know Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday, which probably a lot of people in the U.S. associate with eating tacos and while it's technically correct, is more than that, but don't worry, I won't bore you with the details but rest assure Tori found a way to get Jade excited for this day and as we know Tori can be deviously clever when she wants to be.
So do read and enjoy!
Tori sneakily stood behind Jade, noise maker in hand, the Goth was blissfully unaware of the Latina's trick until it was too little too late as the second most annoying screech reached her ear, (the first being Trina's voice).
"AHHHHHHH!"
Tori was laughing uncontrollably as she saw Jade drop to the floor.
"VEGA! WHAT THE HELL?!"
"Happy Cinco de Mayo Jade!" Tori said with a mischievous smile. "I have been dying to do that all day, not so nice when it happens to you does it?"
Jade's left eye began to twitch uncontrollably right then and there, something her spouse took notice, now for anyone else it was a clear sign that said "run fast, run now and don't look back" but for Tori it only meant one thing.
"I got under her skin…" She thought gleefully "About time."
So she decided to up the ante and blew on the noise maker once more which of course only managed to irritate her wife as the device touched her nose.
"Do you want me to kill you Vega?"
"You wouldn't do that to me Jade." Tori said playfully. "You love me too much."
"Don't get cocky on me Vega." The Thespian warned ominously. "I can still bury you alive and leave you six feet under until you stop being well… What you are now."
"A loving wife?"
"No… That's not it." Jade said. "More like the annoying type of wife."
Tori responded by blowing her noise maker into her wife's face a third time, the pale woman narrowed her eyes, grabbed the curse… thing and mercilessly began to cut it into itty bitty pieces with her scissors that she had hidden under in her boot.
Once she was satisfied she threw what was left of the annoying toy in a garbage can letting out a triumphant grunt only to yell out in annoyance when she saw Tori waving another noise maker teasingly near her face.
"I knew you were going to do that baby." The Latina said with a smile. "Which is why I got a few more of these and I'll gladly give one to you if you promise not to destroy it and oh guess what? I also made us tacos for dinner!"
"Ok now I know there's a reason for you being this annoying." Jade said with an eye roll. "So spill it out Vega, what have you been keeping from me that was so damn important that you needed to play piss off your wife so efficiently."
"Haven't you seen the calendar?"
"Oh come on! Seriously?! This again?!" The Thespian bellowed exasperated. "Didn't we celebrate that Star Wars thing yesterday?! What it is this time?! The day video games were invented? The day Hell froze over? Oh oh! I know! The day dinosaurs became extinct!"
"All good guesses but not even close baby." Tori chuckled "Actually today is Cinco de Mayo."
"That Mexican holiday?"
"Yup, see today is the date when the Mexican Army had a victory over the French Empire at the battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862." Tori explained. "Fun fact, in Puebla where the battle took place they make historical reenactments, parades and more to commemorate what took place, want to watch it with me?"
"You mean that if we we're in Puebla right now, I would have gotten the chance to see people pretending to kill each other?"
"Kind of." Tori shrugged "But we also get to see art and music."
"Screw that!" Jade snapped. "You know how much I love death reenactments and you didn't tell me?! What kind of a wife are you?!"
"The type that loves you very much and actually thought ahead." Tori said playfully before giving the pale woman a kiss on the cheek. "Now if you would please take a seat in our kitchen table and wait for me, I'll gladly get things ready for us."
"Are you trying to make things up to me?"
"Why would I do that?"
"Because yesterday sucked and you know it!" Jade growled. "I tried not to lose it as you, Cat and I watched the original Star Wars movies for that May the 4th nonsense and on top of that I had to listen to you two nitwits say 'May the Fourth Be With You' over and over again. I even tolerated when Cat brought some Ewok dolls and made us play with them or else she wouldn't stop crying! So Goddamn it Vega, I need a stress relief."
"We had sex after Cat left last night!"
"And it wasn't enough!" Jade growled. "So I ask again, is this your attempt to make things up to me?"
"Hey I didn't ask for a stress relief when it was Groundhog Day and you made me watch the movie "Groundhog Day"… Several times I may add, it was cute at first but it got boring after a while."
"Are you saying watching a movie with your wife is boring to you now?" Jade asked darkly, narrowed eyes glaring into her soul. "Seriously?"
"Nice try baby but your death glare has no effect on my anymore." Tori said with a coy smile. "It just makes you look more beautiful to me."
She then gave her wife a peck on the cheek.
"I both love and hate you so much right now Vega."
"What if I tell you there's a National Bunny day?"
Jade then puts her hand up spreading out all of her fingers for dramatic effect to and says, "Wait a minute, there is a 'National Bunny Day?'
"Yup, there's also a National Bugs Bunny day if you're interested." Tori said as she got the tacos ready. "F.Y.I, it's on April 30th."
"I don't even wanna know how you know that." Jade said. "But getting back to the bunnies day… When is it?"
"Jade, all of this information is available online." Tori chuckled. "That's how I found out there is also a Pizza day and Vampire Day."
"Vega, what the Hell?!" Jade snapped. "You're the biggest dork I know! You love finding out stuff like this and you never bothered to tell me about these days?!" That's it, we are participating in these activities next year. What other special days am I missing out on?"
"I'll tell you later." Tori said. "For now let's celebrate Cinco de Mayo the only way I know we'll enjoy."
"How?"
The Latina turned on the computer to show her wife a livestream of the recreation of "Battle of Puebla."
"We're going to watch a bit of history and don't worry, I made sure to capture when someone is pretended to be killed for your enjoyment."
Jade sat down next to her wife then at the screen where a man dressed as a French soldier cried out in pain as he was "killed" before her eyes.
"I love you so damn much, Vega."
The Thespian gave the younger woman a long passionate kiss on the lips before they continued watching the livestream and eat their tacos.
"I love you too Jade."
The two women enjoyed their livestream, at first they simply held hands but at the evening progressed, Jade in one of her rare moments of affection, rested her head on her wife's shoulder, something Tori enjoyed and in return, she moved her arms to slowly go down her spouse's waist and not so subtly held her closer to her.
No words needed to be said between them, their body language said it all.
"There is no place I rather be than here."
I know this is probably my shortest chapter but honestly? I was a little burned out from writing the previous one and I actually went into directions I did not had planned as I was writing this.
Yes, the Groundhog Day bit is canon in this story and already happened even though I didn't write it, mainly because I thought it wouldn't be such a fun chapter if Jade and Tori simply watched the same movie over and over, so instead a simply made a reference on what could that storyline been line.
Also yes, the National Bunny Day, Bugs Bunny Day and Vampire Day are real, it's the kind of thing I discovered and I investigated ideas for possible chapters in this saga, just a heads up, I won't be writing any of those days in future chapters as they were mentioned simply because it served the purpose of Jade and Tori discussing past holidays as well as possible future ones and how they will have many of them for years to come as they showed without saying anything at all in the end, how much they love each other, it may have been overly sentimental but I think it's fitting since neither of them experienced true love until the two of them began to see the other in a new light that eventually evolved into the relationship we see today.
Anyway, your thoughts? Constructive Criticism is appreciated as always.
