Author's Notes: Hey everyone, glad you liked the last chapter, I hope you like this one as well.
Sansa had set herself on a course of action but how she was going to do it eluded her. Lord Baelish would see any plans or schemes that she thought up; as he had told her, she was a terrible liar. Then it came to her, how she would fool him.
Baelish lived in a world of lies, schemes and conspiracies; he wielded them as other men wielded weapons and he was a master of it. And how did a swordsman defeat another? She remembered Father asking Robb that very question. Robb hadn't been able to answer the question and so Father had answered his own question; you made them fight in a way he was not familiar with.
That was what Sansa would do. Bealish used lies as his weapons, Sansa would use a weapon that he was unfamiliar with, the truth. She would use the truth as her weapon. When she moved against him he would, of course see her but because she was not using any obvious falsehoods he would not understand what she was doing and would not be able to properly defend himself, by the time she made her move it would be too late for him to react.
She waited impatiently for Baelish to return to King's Landing. The king had decided to extend his stay so he could attend the royal wedding. Apparently he had left his new wife, her aunt, at the Eyre, claiming that she needed to stay with her son, who was in ill health. Though some whispered that as he was now lord of the Eyre he was eager to be away from his 'touched' wife. Sansa did not know if it was true or not, neither did she care. What she did care about was that her aunt was not here and that worked to her advantage.
She walked in a garden near the quarters that Baelish had been given in the Red Keep for the duration of his stay in King Landings. At last her patience paid off and the man himself appeared. He seemed surprised to see her but his face quickly took on its customary smile.
"Lady Sansa! How good to see you again."
"It is good to see you as well. But there is no need to be so formal, we are family after all Uncle." Knowing what she did now she hated to call him family but it was necessary for her plans. As was what she did next; she walked up Baelish and kissed him. Nothing improper, a very chaste kiss on the cheek, a greeting from a female to a male relative but it had the desired results. He was clearly surprised but also clearly not displeased.
"Well, I must say that is easily the most pleasant greeting I have had since I returned to the city."
"You are too kind Uncle. But I must confess I sought you out for a reason."
"Indeed?" He said, arching an eyebrow inquiringly.
"Indeed, I wished to invite you to dine with me tonight."
"That is most kind of you and your husband my lady. I would be honored to accept your invitation."
"I am glad to hear that Uncle. But I fear it will only be us. The Hand of the King, Lord Tywin, has sent my husband on a mission which has taken him out of the city. I fear he will be gone for some time."
This was the truth. Ever since her uncle and Lord Umber had escaped they had been raising arms against the Lannisters and their allies. While they no longer had the strength to meet them in open battle they continually harassed them. This was especially true of Umber who was leading his men in a series of raids, falling on small garrisons and then disappearing. Worse for the Lannisters was that these actions were causing some houses that had yielded after the Red Wedding to begin to stir and the Lannisters, thinking the North beaten, had moved many much of their forces elsewhere.
It was clear now that the fighting would continue for some time and this meant increased expenses. So they had been force to once again go to the Iron Bank of Braavos and request another loan. The request had been rejected, the Crown was already deeply in debt and was behind in payment. To try to smooth things over and prevent them from backing Stannis, an action they had hinted at, Lord Tywin had ordered Tyrion, as Master of Coin, to go to Braavos in person and negotiate with them.
"Dining with a man alone. Lady Sansa, married life has made you rather scandalous." He said with a laugh.
"No need to mock Uncle." She, said smiling warmly at him and giving a little laugh. "There is nothing at all improper for an uncle to keep his niece company while her husband is away."
"In that case," he said with a laugh; "I have no choice but to accept Lady Sansa."
"Wonderful." She said smiling and kissing him again. "I am so glad, I will send someone for you when it is time and please, call me Sansa."
Author's Notes: I hoped you liked it a bit short but still. The problem is it is hard to have a battle of whits between the two, he would crush her and I have not written many such encounters and have a hard time making them both intelligent. Well that is it for now, you'll soon see her plan. Place pray for all affected by the weather all over the worldas some have already died, the Americans held abroad and all who need prayer and may Jesus bless you all.
