For a moment Sansa just stood there saying nothing. She found that in her surprise her breath had caught in her throat and she forced herself to exhale. She felt her whole body had gone numb and yet as she forced herself to breathe she found herself strangely calm, it was inevitable she supposed that someone would find her out, one could haves only so many bodies turn up around one before people became suspicious of you. While all of this ran through her head Prince Oberyn stood there, a little smile playing across his lips.

"How did you know? She asked at last.

"It really wasn't that hard to figure out really. The other day when I called on you it was quite clear that you did not mean a word you said. After Lord Baelish's death I went to his quarters. The servants denied that he had had any visitors but I saw the wine bottle there and I recognized it from here. Might I make a recommendation? Next time you kill someone, don't leave evidence like that behind, it has a rather unpleasant way of coming back to haunt you.

"Well, that made me curious so I started to ask around and it seems that the late Lord Baelish was not the only one who has died under unusual circumstances. I understand that they are still looking for the murderer of the late Grand Measter Pycelle. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that would you?" Sansa said nothing at first and kept her face expressionless.

"I am afraid that I do not know what you are talking about." His express was the equal of hers.

"Of course you don't. And would I be correct in assuming that you do not know anything about incidents at the Twins, where the late Lord Walder Frey died under rather unusual circumstances and your uncle Tully and your brother's banner man Umber made good their escape and have been causing rather a lot of trouble for the Lannisters and their allies?"

"I am afraid that I don't know anything about that either my lord." She replied, her face still black though she had to struggle to keep a smile from her face at the memory of Walder and the news that the men that she had freed were causing trouble for the Lannisters and their pawns. She hoped one of them killed all of the Boltons.

"Of course you don't." He said, his face breaking out in a smile as he indicated a chair; "May I sit?" She nodded and offered him wine. He smiled and shook his head as he pulled out a flask; "I think I it would that it would be only proper to offer you wine this time, don't you agree?" Sansa simply nodded and instead brought to empty glasses and allowed him to fill them.

As they drank she looked at him. "So what will do with this news?" He arched an eyebrow at her.

"What do you mean, as you just said yourself that you do not know anything about any of these events?"

For a moments Sansa did not know what to say and then it came to her. "Perhaps, but in these uncertain times the wildest rumors get started and spread around." He nodded in commiseration and smile a rueful smile.

"Alas, such is the sorry state of the world that we live in. But fear not," he said, his tone taking on a false brightness; "I do not believe in spreading malicious rumors. Any more than I believe in the rape and murder of women and children." At this last his tone became dark and his face took on a dangerous expression.

"Tell me," he said after a moment; "Did your father ever tell you about the sack of King's Landing?" She shook her head no. "I did not think so, well perhaps you know what happened to my sister, the Lady Elia Martell, the wife of Prince Rhaegar and her children?" While she did not know all of the details she did know that much.

"They died." She said simply, he nodded in assent, his expression one of barely contained anger.

"Yes, they died. Under rather unpleasant circumstances I am told. At the hands of the banner-men of House Lannister. So you can see that my family has been wronged just as yours was so I have no inclination to spread tales of any variety about, even if they completely unfounded.

"Though if I may give some friendly advice? If I were you I would perhaps refrain from engaging in any activity that might give any reason to spread such rumors for a time, as you said times are rather uncertain at the moment and even the most innocent actions can be misconstrued, with tragic consequences." They sat silence for a time drinking his wine. At last he rose and took his leave. At the door he turned and looked her.

"Ellaria was right about you, you are a fascinating creature. I do hope I can persuade you to call on us before the wedding, it will be so hectic afterwards and I would love to speak with you again before that."

"What we speak of my lord?" Sansa asked him, keeping her tone cautious. In response he gave a merry laugh.

"Why, of lots of things. Family history, of royal weddings and the rights of succession." He turned and left, as he did so he said something strange over his shoulder. "As they say Valor morghulis."
