Author's Notes: Hey everyone glad that you liked the last chapter and I hope you like this one as well, as always I own nothing.
With her innocence proven, a fact Sansa found rather amusing since she was, in fact, guilty, she was released. Free of both her chains and guards she returned to her own quarts, escorted by Brienne, who seemed to have assumed the role of bodyguard. Though she had been decreed innocent of any crime it was clear that people were leery of her and she made her way to her quarters without speaking to anyone, which was fine with Sansa as she had no desire to speak to them either.
The rooms she shared with her husband were quiet and empty. Shae was gone of course, Sansa knew not where and did not care, and Tyrion had been returned to his cell to await his own trial by combat the next day. But they were not entirely empty; Podrick, Tyrion's squire was still there, loyally awaiting the return of his master. Sansa had him fetch food and drink for Brienne and then prepare a bath for Sansa so she could wash off the filth that she had accumulated in prison. After that she sent him to fetch Brienne's belongings and bring them her as she insisted on staying there with Sansa. In truth Sansa was glad of it, she had seen the look the Queen had given her after the battle and while she was officially innocent she would not put it past the Queen to stoop to less official means of punishing Sansa for the death of her son.
After she finished bathing she dressed in one of her dresses, it felt so good to be clean again. Just then Podrick, who had returned while she was bathing, announced that she had a visitor. He was waiting in the salon with Brienne. Sansa entered to find Prince Oberyn sitting there helping himself to a flask of wine. He rose and bowed when she entered, giving her one of his dazzling smiles.
"Lady Sansa, allow me to congratulate you on your stunning victory today. And to you as well my lady." He said turning to address Brienne.
"I am no lady my lord and I only did my duty today." At this he laughed.
"Oh the world would be a far happier place if more people had the dedication to duty as you do."
"You are too kind my lord," Sansa said as she poured him more wine; "And may I wish you success tomorrow. I shall pray for your success." He nodded in response.
"You are too kind my lady, but I came for a reason. I thought that I might give you a piece of advise."
"And that is?" She asked him.
"You might want to start packing." At her questioning look he continued; "I spoke with your lord husband. He agrees that this city will probably be a rather unhealthy place for you and him for some time. So after I kill the Mountain tomorrow he agreed that a trip to Dorn might be advisable undertaking, I told him to plan on a long visit. As the heirs to Casterly Rock and Winterfell I think you two and my brother will have much to discuss, now if you will excuse me." With that he rose, bowed and took his leave.
Author's Notes: Hey everyone a bit short I know but it is significant. In the books Tyrion was planning to go to Dorn after the battle, will not go into more detail to avoid spoilers. Someone mentioned that the Queen allowed Brienne to fight and that seemed a bit strange but think about the wedding when they spoke the Queen seemed jealous, I had her let Brienne fight in hopes she would die. Anyway, next chapter will be the fight. Till then please keep praying for the sick and all who need it and may Jesus bless you.
