Author's Notes: Hey everyone, sorry that I have not updated in a while, my muse decided summer vacation came early for it, as always I own nothing.

As soon as they reached the Water Gardens servants rushed out to help Brienne inside where a maester was waiting to tend to her injury. Sansa wanted to go in as well but the man instead that only those who were needed were allowed in. Instead she went to comfort Myrcella, who was much in need of it. Sir Oakheart was dead and his passing had clearly rattled her. Now that the initial rush had worn off she was beginning to go into shock, she was pale and shaking and when Sansa came to her and hugged her, her skin was cold.

"Why Sir Gerold Dayne?" Myrcella asked in a voice barely more than a whisper. "He was so courteous when we met, why did he kill poor Sir Oakheart?"

"I don't know." Was all that Sansa could reply. Presently another maester came in and gave Myrcella a draft of milk of the poppy and a septa led her away to rest. After she was taken away the maester told her that Prince Doran wished to speak with her. She followed him to where the prince awaited her.

Much of the Court was there as well, including Arianne, Trystane, the Sand Snakes and her husband, all of them looking both upset and angry. Trystane immediately asked Sansa about Myrcella and was visibly relieved when he heard that she was resting comfortably. Then Prince Doran asked Sansa what she had seen. Sansa reported what she had seen, though she made it a point not to say anything regarding her own activities. When she had finished Arianne spoke up.

"Father, it was my fault that that bastard Dayne was among us! Allow me to find him and bring back his head to make amends!" Before the Prince could reply Trystane also spoke up.

"Father! The man attempted to murder my beloved betrothed! Allow me to go and bring back his head!"

"If I may?" Tyrion interposed.

"Surely you don't want to go for his head as well?" Prince Doran asked.

"Oh gods no." Tyrion said in mock horror. "In present company I fear I should be run over and crushed." This raised a chuckle from many of those present, for some the first since the incident. "What I mean," Tyrion continued; "Do we know where Sir Dayne has gone?"

"We are not sure." Prince Doran replied. "He may have returned to his home at High Hermitage. I shall send soldiers there and will seize him if he is there. If he is not then he shall be hunted till he is found. I shall send ravens to all the castles in Dorne. If he is anywhere within Dorne he will be found." There was really nothing more to be said. Arianne again demanded to be allowed to go with those hunting him but she was refused. After that people began to drift from the room and Sansa went to check on Brienne.

The maester had finished his ministrations and had given Brienne a draft of essence of night shade to send her into a deep sleep. He had stitched up her wound but Sansa could see that it would leave an ugly scare. Sansa found that she felt an overwhelming feeling of guilt and shame. Brienne was scared now because of her efforts to defend Myrcella and herself, even if the traitor was found and killed that would not restore her face. When she awoke and realized that she was permanently disfigured Sansa would have no words to comfort her. She wished she was clever like her husband. Tyrion was always so clever and always seemed to know what to say whatever the situation was, Sansa did not and at that moment as stupid as Cersei had always said she.

She had wanted to stay the night with Brienne but the septa who was to watch over her through the night told her to go and get some rest. Even so, Sansa made her promise that she would send for her the moment Brienne woke up, having gained the promise Sansa turned and left the room. Without pausing to talk to anyone she made her way to the quarters that she shared with her husband.

He was already there, a wine glass naturally in his hand, and he was reclining on the plush couch. He had respected her wish to not have physical contact with him so when they arrived in Dorne he had given her the bed and had slept on the couch. He looked up as she entered, a look of sympathy on his face.

"How is she?" He asked.

"She'll be fine." She said, even though no one had said as much to her. As she poured herself a glass of wine she found her had was shaking and she realized how much the death of Brienne would have affected her, another person she cared for lost. She went to the bed and sat down on it, her legs suddenly feeling weak.

I saved her but I could not save my family. The tears that she had been holding in for so long at last began to fall. She tried to hold them back but she could not. She suddenly felt a presence on the bed next to her as Tyrion sat down beside her on the bed. Hesitantly he reached and took her hand. Her first impulse was to pull away but she found she did not want to be alone. So she sat there and cried while her husband held her hand.
