The Wings of Change

Chapter Two: Still winds, New beginning

Naruto awoke with a start. A dull throbbing at the back of his head. Blearily looking around to gather his bearings.

The first thing of notice to the young blonde was the searing pain running through his arm. Gritting his teeth as he pulled himself into a sitting position, Naruto closed his eyes and took a deep breath, allowing the pain to subside.

Groaning he slowly opened his eyes, first looking down at his bandaged arm, Frowning as he recalled just how this had happened.

With a frown he slowly pulled himself to his feet, wounds sending slight pain through his body making it all the harder.

Looking around the campsite the first thing he noticed was the dying embers of the campfire, looking past that he could make out Jiraiya passed out a bottle of sake in one hand his notebook in the other, a perverse grin adorned his face visible to naruto even in the low light.

"Tsk" naruto spat out.

"Stupid drunk perverts" He mumbled to himself before a slight memory of just how he got injured resurfaced inside his mind.

Groaning at the memory of the purple missile followed by extreme pain the first thing that came to his mind as his body tensed up was an enemy ninja attack.

Shaking his head noting that for all his faults Jiraiya was a Damn Good ninja, meaning had an enemy attacked they wouldn't be in the middle of a field with a fire going.

Naruto let out a breath slowly relaxing from his combat mode, noting that he would be pretty useless in a fight right now thanks to his arm and the pain near his gut.

Spotting a pile of dried wood near the fire he slowly made his way over intent on warming himself a little.

"Aghh" he grunted out taking his first step, pain shot through his body causing the young blonde to stumble forward. Sensing his balance slipping Naruto shakily stabilized his footing trying not to fall on his ass.

With a few more pained breaths, he smashed his teeth together in frustration allowing himself a brief yet frustrating respite. He then slowly took the last few steps towards the fire.

Bringing himself to the ground slowly, he began to add wood from the small pile next to himself. Grunting in pain as each movement seemed to hurt.

Squinting his eyes as he began to feel air warm around the fire, Naruto let out another sigh. Mind a jumble of pain and confusion, Memories of the Fourth..no his Father running rampant.

All his life, if ever there was one question he had wanted an answer to. Who were they? Did they love me or was I nothing? Well now he knew all too well, he was Naruto Uzumaki, son of Minato Namikaze and Kushina uzumaki.

A smile slowly turned into a frown as he remembered next about the masked man "Madara" he mumbled out. Fists clenching in frustration, tears slowly falling from his glistening blue eyes. Everything, all the hatred, the stares, the fox it was all his fault!

Letting out a frustrated growl he slowly fell backwards, eyes staring up into the clear night.

Slowly closing his eyes he allowed determination to enter his body as he remembered the words of his father.

"Damn Uchiha!" he groaned out mind slowly beginning to fade as the pain and mental fatigue caught up with his body. " i'll Crush you i…prom..ise" He blearily let out as he once again slipped into the bliss of sleep the fire crackling peacefully nearby.

Miya Awaoke with a start, her mind a jumble, body wracked with pain she let out a groan.

"Damn Musubi sure can hit," she groaned, beginning to slowly open her eyes. Wait eyes? She questioned. She shouldn't be able to do that, she remembered clearly Musubi had defeated her and soundly at that, her core should have shut down. How is she alive right now?

Trying her best to ignore the searing pain shooting throughout her entire body she took a moment to observe her surroundings. The first thing of note was a low burning fire, it was low but still going as if someone had added wood to it recently.

Realization dawned on her as pain tore through her already searing head. A golden blur, faint words that clung on at the edge of her consciousness. However no matter how hard she clung to her head the memory refused to clear up.

Tears streaming down her face glistening with a slight velvet hue reminiscent of her hair and eyes that Takehito loved so much. Pain barely hidden behind furrowed brows.

There it was another painful memory of her loss, just another one of her many failures wracking her with guilt. However in the end she was able to at least teach that little bird enough to live on happily. So perhaps not everything she did ended in failure…?

Clenching her jaw in determination she slowly whipped the tears streaming down her eyes as she again began to observe her surroundings. It was then that she noticed a figure laying nearby the fire, as well as another bundled up a little further away.

Slightly gasping as she slowly lifted herself to her feet she made her way one painfull step at a time towards the figure, curiosity filling her tired mind. Drawing closer, the first thing she noticed of the first figure was a mop of bright yellow hair, a blond reminiscent of Tsukiumi.

Smiling at the memory of her dear friend, the next thing she noticed was the figure's face, eyes tightly shut; he still looked to have youth in his cheeks, cheeks that each had 3 whisker-like scratches running down them.

Curiosity getting the better she slowly reached out towards the boy hand drawing closer to his face in a thoughtless attempt at touching the curious marks. However as her hand began to draw near rustling noise followed by what sounded to be a giggle brought her back to her senses.

Head snapping towards the noise she noticed a mop of gray hair, 'an elder perhaps?'. He was sprawled out on the ground in what looked to be a small book covering his while in his visible hand a bottle of sake by the scent wafting in the air.

"Tsk, drunks" she spit out anger making its way onto her visage. However her anger slowly receded making way to another bout of pain shooting through her body.

Taking a deep breath while clenching back more tears, Miya slowly turned back to the fire. Noticing a small pile of sticks near the fire she grabbed a few and began adding them to the fire.

"Musubi..Minato.I hope that you are safe now..everything is over now" she slowly whispered out allowing a few more tears to fall from her eyes. Fighting back a sob she couldn't help but remember the past.

The day she met him..the day she became a weapon for that man..or the day she walked away. Memories of the life she lived with him as short as it may have been. Cut short all thanks to her failure to protect him.

Fighting the urge to fall further into depression, Miya smiled as she remembered meeting the young boy Minato, the pleading look on his face as he showed up alongside the young bird Musubi.

"Love" she whispered, she always knew that the power it could bring sekirei and their ashikabi was incredible but Musubi, she took it to an entirely different level. 'Of course I would lose after all, I never did have an ashikabi, I couldn't, not after I met him.'

Sighing to herself as she watched the fire slowly burn, Miya allowed herself to fall back into the memories of the past, those happy and sad. The last thing she remembered as she slowly lost consciousness was the light mummoring of the young man next to her, "Ayame more ramen.."

Naruto was sleeping better than he had in years. His morning headaches were not affecting him, the pain in his chest from when he fought Sasuke didn't even hurt that bad today. Heck even Mr. Pillow was extra soft today, he told himself while hugging what he assumed to be his pillow closer.

Squeezing tighter as he let a satisfied smile spread across his face, he began to slowly fall back into sleep. However even in his sleepy state something slowly began to dawn on the young uzumaki.

"Wait Mr. Pillow?Jiraiya wouldn't let me pack him." he slowly drawled out as he began to open his eyes, still clinging tightly to his 'pillow'. The first thing he saw was bright light followed by a brilliant purple hue.

Noting a faint scent of lavender he allowed himself to inhale a small amount of the scent as he allowed another smile to grace his lips. It was at this moment that a noise caught his attention followed by movement in his arms.

Brain running at a fast pace he snapped into a state of awakeness ready for an attack at a moment. However as he attempted to jump up, a slight weight pressing down on his chest prevented him.

Eyes shooting downwards he finally realized just what it was that had set him on edge. Long Purple hair strung messily down a face full of anger. Eyes as dark as a midnight abyss glared back at him.

Senses Racing full drive in reaction to the massive spike of killer intent Naruto applied a small amount of chakra to his feet as he stepped backwards allowing himself to dodge as fist barely missed where he had just stood.

Standing across from him dressed in a white and purple miko outfit that appeared to be a few sizes too large for the girl. Gasping to himself as he allowed his eyes a moment to wander over her figure.

Long purple hair that eerily reminded him of a certain cat masked anbu he would see sometimes around the old man. Her eyes a shade of violet so dark it was easily mistaken for brown.

She stood at around 5'7, baggy clothes draped around her and face full of anger. Shaking his head allowed himself to focus on what she was shouting at him.

"...Ould dare to attack me in my sleep, what kind of perverse garbage" was what he was able to pick up in his confusion. Flashbacks of Long headaches and severe gut punches from his teammate he took a steep back and shouted back at her.

"Don't just attack people out of the blue ya know crazy girl!" He screamed back at her. What he expected was for her to stop screaming and maybe talk to him calmly, then he could figure out just who the hell this was and how she got into his bed.

What he however did not expect was for a dark shadow to fall over the girl's face. Slowly stepping backwards as he noticed what looked to be the face of a monster slowly materializing in the air next to her.

"Gagaga..Ghooostt!" was the intelligent sentence that left the young boy's lips in response to this. Backpedaling in the manliest way he would swear he could, he expected to flee; however a firm hand grabbed him by the shoulder stopping him in his tracks.

Jumping in fright Naruto swung his head behind him expecting another ghost however a sigh of relief left his lips as a Hulking toad of a man stood behind him, an irritated look upon his face.

"What the hell kids, keep shouting this early in the morning and i'll tie you both to a tree" Jiriya drawled out his free hand palming his face.

"But there's a ghost!" was all Naruto could reply as he noted Jiraiya stared at him in a deadpan.

"Since when are beautiful girls ghosts, it's reasons like that keeping you a virgin!" Jiraiya exclaimed with gusto.

Sighing to himself as he processed the words he heard, Naruto then turned his head to look back at the ghost girl. Taking a deep breath and slowly opening his tightly shut eyes he gasped as he once again took in her appearance. 'She is truly beautiful' he couldn't help but think to himself.

She stood there across from them, arms crossed in front of her chest. A slight smile on her lips, he noted a slight tear run down her face as he gasped in worry.

"Are you ok girl, did that ghost get you, you're really pretty, my name's Naruto future hokage nice to meetcha!" he all but spit out at the speed of a bullet.

Jiraiya, forgetting that the boy always had this much energy sighed to himself pulling him back once more. "Calm down Naruto" he stated sternly grabbing his attention.

Realizing the hint of seriousness in his mentor's voice, Naruto stood straighter, eyes squinting as he watched and listened.

"I don't know where you came from" he stated head turning to look at the girl across from them.

"I don't know why you went for a midnight flight and decided to crash land into our camp" Jiraira expressed, a tick-mark now forming on his head.

"But you're going to answer those questions right now."

This was what bothe Naruto and the girl heard before he disappeared only to appear a moment later right behind the girl kunai held close to her neck.

"It was a long night and I'm not really in the mood to play around. Now then the little girl spit it out".

Noting the hostility in Jiraiya's voice, Naruto made sure to stay alert of his surroundings. Glancing upwards at the sun hanging in the morning sky, he let loose a slight sigh. ' well this day is beginning wonderfully isn't it'.
