...
The greater lords that Balmus allied with have all fallen or turned traitor. Briarhaven, the queen's forces, Wymarc's men, and Eadwig's mercenaries were now hammering what remained of the other forces. Many of the soldiers surrendered or at least stopped fighting when their own respective lord fell in battle. Still, many kept on fighting, despite the fact that they no longer had a reason. Many just following the last orders they were given out of a strange misplaced sense of honor or loyalty. Many more could only see the enemy directly before themselves and were not aware of the wider context on the battlefield
...
While this was going on, the church was pelting Naofumi's skill with everything they had, but it was still just below 50% of its Hp. Each spell did some tiny amount of damage, but their own mana and confidence was draining at a faster rate. Its advance was becoming more deadly, as the soldiers surrounding their three other sides were locked in battle and left them nowhere to retreat to. Their own means of protection had become a cage to trap and kill them. Balmus was not going to let them fall so easily.
"Fools, use [Judgement]! Its holy power should be enough to overwhelm it!" Balmus commanded.
Monti had been searching for whatever slipped past his [Royal Authority], but he found nothing. Even trying to use his [Royal Authority] again in the hopes of receiving negative feedback to search it out was not giving him anything. As he went to search another section from above, he spotted Balmus yelling at his followers, waving the holy replica around.
The church was disorganized, but seeing the pope wielding the replica reminded them there was hope. Who could beat such power as the replica? That's what they were thinking. Many joined in chanting as those in the front were trampled beneath the beast.
Balmus thought that this would work. Using [Phoenix Blade] right after [Judgement] would destroy the cursed thing and they would then reassert themselves, healing and supporting the soldiers. Balmus was unaware that the lords had fallen, he thought victory was still achievable.
As Balmus raised his weapon in the air to rally his troops further... he couldn't feel his hand, it was numb. He went to inspect it only to find that his hand was now missing. The shock dampening the pain as he realized his hand had been cut off.
"The holy replica!?" Balmus searched the ground before spotting it... in the sky.
Monti had swooped down and acquired the dangerous weapon. Many people saw this happen all over the battlefield and it led to many more surrendering on the spot. Naofumi and Raphtalia both saw this as well.
"That's our boy." Naofumi allowed a little celebration, releasing the [Form Lock] that he placed on the replica.
"Yeah, the battle is all but won at this point. Only killing your skill will remain an issue." Raphtalia added.
Balmus looked at Monti with a fury that drove all reason from him.
"This monster, with the wings of a bat, looks like a demon. His tail alluding to his poisonous nature, his evil. The cat ears aligned him with the disgusting demi-humans that we hate so much. He is also close to the shield devil. Could the world make a more disgusting being?"
As [Judgement] reached to point of casting, Balmus made a single petty decision. He directed the spell away from Naofumi's skill in front of him.
"Defend yourself!" An unfamiliar voice rang in Monti's mind.
He was told of what was about to happen. In the next moment, [Judgement] came down on Monti, striking him to the earth. The all-consuming light scared Naofumi and Raphtalia to no end as they rushed to the location. Monti's fate was currently unknown
"What they hell are you doing!?"
"What of this beast!?"
"We're doomed!"
The church followers saw that their leader chose to spite the shield hero over saving them from the beast. They lost all sense of order or trust and they scattered in any direction they could. Balmus understood what he did, but he'd argue it was best. They lost, but he'd still take something from the enemy. They'd not beat him without suffering for the victory.
Balmus was brought back to his senses by [Eventual Victory] reaching out and grabbing him with its claw. It had just gotten close enough to reach its target. Balmus struggled in vain to pull himself free as he was taking damage from something. The beast dealt cursed damage on contact. At first the damage was small, but continued contact meant an escalation in damage. While slow, the damage could theoretically increase infinitely. Balmus wasn't exactly giving up, but he understood he was going to die.
He looked to the pillar of light that was fading, wanting one last glance at his handiwork.
To everyone's surprise, Monti survived. He had not dodged as Naofumi and Raphtalia have hoped. He was on one knee, charred earth all around him. While he was hurt, he was in better condition than anyone thought he'd be. That was partially because of the cloak, but mostly because he shifted the replica's form to its shield form, the form Balmus refused to use. Placing it over his body had saved his life.
"So it was for nothing? We didn't kill any of them... Not even one...?" Balmus realized.
From the vantage point of the beast's claw, Balmus saw the whole of the battlefield. He saw that his forces were routed. He couldn't locate any of the lords. Liviccic and Eadwig were seen, but they were fighting his own followers.
They had lost completely. He had lost completely.
"Damn you! You cursed devil of the shield!" Balmus screamed as the beast brought him to its armored maw and opened it.
"Aaaagghhk!" The beast shoved Balmus into its mouth and began to chew him. Despite how it looked, he'd take several minutes to die like this. His continued screams coming from the beast's mouth would inform them of such. The screams of Balmus coming from the mouth of the beast only added to its intimidation.
Naofumi and Raphtalia ran down the newest crater to Monti and hugged him. They were overjoyed that he survived. Their embrace was soon met with more good news.
"We won too, we deserve a hug!" Filo yelled.
The three of them turned to see the rest of the kids and Sophia. They were dragging the three heroes and Malty, all wrapped up in Sophia's strongest thread. The kids dropped their targets and ran to the others for a hug, which was promptly given.
Sophia didn't watch the heart-warming display, instead she watched the heroes' reactions to it. The heroes watched the family moment in shame. Motoyasu already gave up, so this was just further confirmation. Ren stared blankly, Sophia had no idea what he was thinking. Itsuki closed his eyes and shook his head, he tried his best to ignore the scene, but he heard the whole thing. Malty was unconscious, which was better for everyone.
Teal didn't want to ruin the moment, but she had a question.
"Dad, what are these cloaks?" She blurted out.
Naofumi proceeded to explain the family series to them, all four shields. They were impressive, but even more, it was comforting that something like the holy shield recognized them as a family. Leon and Filo both hit each other to see if [Love] worked, but they forgot that these shields were new and, therefore, not yet mastered. Teal laughed at their stupid moment.
"...Dad, switch to the 'sharing' one. We need to help, people are dying." Monti told him.
Naofumi didn't want to move, but Monti was right. They had the power to save a lot more people.
[All Fast Heal]
Naofumi used a heal spell on the group, then administered his best potions to them.
"Listen up. Your mother and I will watch these four. Do what you can, but remember that saving allies is more important than defeating enemies." Naofumi instructed them.
"Then I shall return to Liviccic's side. I'm happy that we lost no one this time." Sophia said before leaving.
"This time... She's right. We will need to focus on growing stronger. If something like this happens again, we have to completely dominate the situation, even more than this time." Naofumi thought to himself.
Sophia's words were not lost on the others either. They needed to be even more vigilant, they resolved further. Naofumi went to give orders, but remembered to add Melty, Eclair, Liviccic and Sophia via [Tele-communication]. Now was the time to secure their victory and end this stupid war.
...
With Liviccic
...
Liviccic used [Revive] on every corpse he saw, using the many Sp potions Naofumi gave him days ago to keep him going. He made a point to have the Soul Eater possess Lady Grimwald's body, to animate it once, before he used [Revive] on it. He also revived 39 of the tyrella, seeing their faster movements as a real advantage. The last tyrella was left alive because the soldier only agreed to surrender if he spared his mount, likening it to his pet. Liviccic hated giving quarter like this, it made him look weak to those around him, but he relented.
He was about to move toward the next fallen lord when Sophia came to his side via [Collapsing Thread]. They would avoid displays of affection in public, they already agreed to that, but they couldn't contain their relief. They had only a moment before Silvius, Fitts, Chloe, and lord Wymarc reach them.
Silvius tossed Veramir's body before his lord and took a knee.
"Lord Veramir is dead, slain by his own cursed sword... We would all like to discuss the late lord and this sword later. While not as important as this battle, it needs to be made a priority." Silvius told Liviccic.
"Understood, let us rally together and crush those that are left." Liviccic answered while repeating the process on Veramir that he used on Grimwald.
As they went to leave, Liviccic and Sophia received a message from Naofumi.
...
With the queen
...
Eclair and Melty reached the queen not long after Langiva passed. The queen watched their approach and had more than a few thoughts as she saw Melty completely overpower a large group of soldiers with a [Zweite Aqua Shot]. She expected her daughter to gain some trust with Naofumi, that she also gained power was an unexpected, but welcome surprise. Eclair's power increase was less noticeable. She defeated her foes quickly and remained untouched, the same as always.
"Mother! I'm so glad tha-um... Your majesty, it is good to see you well." Melty was quite forthcoming in her relief before remembering part way through to be formal.
Eclair took a knee next to Melty, stealing a glance at Langiva's body near the queen.
"Thank you, dame Seaetto, in seeing Melty safely returned to me." Mirellia started.
"..." The three allowed a quiet moment.
"I will need you back in the field. This battle isn't over yet. The faster it ends, the more lives that we save." Mirellia told Eclair.
Eclair just received a short message from Naofumi and couldn't help but smirk.
"I will do what I can, but the Iwatani family seems to have met back up after defeating and securing all three of the other heroes and princess Malty. The battle will take an overwhelming turn either way."
The queen hid her surprise at that. "The other three heroes beaten? Not by the shield hero, he was fighting Balmus... But by those monsters? Individual members of the shield hero's party beat the other heroes and their parties!?"
Mirellia spoke. "His party is more formidable than I first imagined, but after fighting so desperately against the heroes, we can't expect them to contribute much more. We need to-"
The entire battlefield stopped, seeing the next radical change to take place. The kids entered the battle with the soldiers and the difference was so great that many thought it an illusion.
Monti unleashed [Chain Lightning] on the enemy, having one mind keep track of the spell and avoid friendly fire. This cut heavy paths through the enemy that the allied soldiers capitalized on, rushing into these holes in the enemy line. Monti kept the replica in shield form, not wanting to use it. He could feel that its reserves were low, but was also happy to wield a replica of his dad's weapon. He'd be lying if he told someone it didn't please him to no end.
Filo pulled out the glorious Iwatani family ball and proceeded to use the item's awesome stats on the slow targets around her. Lining up shots that caused it to bounce off of multiple targets then she'd hit it again. She stayed in the air mostly via [Wind Walk]. She'd find a target or set of targets, then hit them when the ball was done hitting the last target. To others, it happened so fast that they couldn't even see that a ball is what was taking them out. While the ball had little offensive stats, Filo's double damage on the first hit combined with her own stats meant one hit was still enough.
Teal pulled out a large number of Bio-plant seeds from [Inventory] and threw them all around. As they began to grow rapidly, Teal used her [Royal Authority] to control them, having them focus on disarming and restraining the enemy. Teal herself used a most [Noxious Pollen] to take enemies down without a fight. She also tossed many of her spare blades to the allies that needed them. Teal did the least in terms of taking down enemies, but she did better than the others at avoiding killing and helping the allied soldiers.
Leon wasted no time transforming into his full form, which hurt the morale of his enemies more than his fire could ever hope to hurt their flesh. He flew in long straight paths. He breathed his fire while casting [Zweite Firewall]. It wasn't until this moment that he realized that he still couldn't use [Zweite Hellfire]. He'd need to 'convince' Ren into releasing it. The walls of fire either boxed them in, cut off their path, or split a stronger group up. The allied soldiers had an easy time capitalizing on Leon's walls.
The collective devastation was substantial, but the psychological damage was even greater. A large portion of the soldiers began to surrender and the more that surrendered, the more it was being seen as acceptable, causing further surrenders. The followers of the three heroes' church were an exception, with only a few of them surrendering.
The queen was stunned at the sight, as were many with her. Things were both better and worse than the queen expected. While it was true that the battle was going to end in minutes... she was concerned. The shield hero and his party had grown from the adversities they faced instead of being weakened by them. They became strong enough to not need her or Melromarc's help. What could she do to keep the shield hero in Melromarc?
While the kids continued dominating the battlefield, Naofumi and Raphtalia met up with the queen and the others: Melty, Eclair, Van, even Ake.
The queen went to greet him. "I'm glad to finally meet you, shield hero. I heard-"
They threw the heroes and Malty to the ground at her feet.
"We can have a happy conversation after we secure prisoners, and I believe these people should be at the top of the list." Naofumi said, locking eyes with the queen.
"...Dammit." The queen had no choice.
"Of course. We will not let them slip away. We need to discuss a great number of things." The queen answered.
Several men were directed by the queen to grab the prisoners and place them in an armored cart. Naofumi thought she might argue against that, but she seemed to want him happy. He'd milk that more than a bit.
Raphtalia nudged Naofumi's side, just feeling the evil thoughts emitting from him.
Naofumi corrected his thoughts... a little.
"After things wrap up and I kill my skill, we can talk." Naofumi offered.
"Kill your skill?" Eclair asked.
"I used it so Raphtalia and I could escape the church-dome-thing. I'm weaker until it dies and I can't recall it. It will need to be taken care of or it may just keep trampling everyone." Naofumi explained.
"To use such an ability..." The queen voiced disapproval.
"Forgive me, we all make terrible mistakes." Naofumi jabbed.
Before Raphtalia or Melty could jump on Naofumi for being rude, he went to contact the kids again.
"Oi, everyone. Ignore the holdouts for a moment. The soldiers should be able to take it from here." Naofumi greeted.
"But the more we help, the more people live". Monti argued.
"That's true, but there is a bigger issue. Your father's skill will not have a target soon. As soon as Balmus' screams die down, it will begin to move again and will likely attack at random." Raphtalia informed them.
"You can't recall or undermine it in some way?" Teal asked.
"No. It has exponential damage based on the amount of time in contact. In a way, it counters me and hard." Naofumi answered.
"Then we'll switch targets... and avoid touching it. We'll assault it from a distance. Filo, don't use the ball, it might damage it." Monti affirmed.
"Aw~... Well... Filo can touch it with Filo's claws, right? Cuz that isn't really Filo?" Filo determined.
"That should work actually... Filo had a real thought, I'm surprised." Leon commented.
Filo and Leon went to argue further, but Monti broke them up and kept them on task.
Naofumi left, just as Liviccic and Eadwig made their way to the queen. Eadwig took a knee and held his father's head up.
"I have eliminated my father, lord Wagner, as a means to show my loyalty. I ask that you please consider this in the days that come." Eadwig spoke with his head bowed.
The queen figured this would happen. She knew enough about Eadwig to know that he would oppose his father in one way or another. This had been the best result for her, though. Liviccic attempted a snide comment at the man who would kill his own father, but the queen shut Liviccic down at once. Regardless of her own opinions on the act of killing family, the fact still remains that Eadwig betrayed in her favor and she had to reward him, to incentivize others to do so in the future.
"We will discuss your position in the days that follow, I thank you for your loyalty." The queen responded automatically.
Liviccic surprised them both by repeating his process to revive Langiva's body and then asked for Wagner's head.
"I won't allow Melromarc to weaken more than it has to from this event. I'll be keeping the lords for a rainy day. Hand me the head, if you will." Liviccic held his hand out.
The queen didn't like this. She didn't like Liviccic's abilities and she certainly didn't like Langiva's body being used as a toy..., but Liviccic was using them in a way that Langiva would approve of, so she relented. She motioned for Eadwig to hand it over and he did. Langiva's body walked over and took up his glaive, then moved to Liviccic's side. Next to Sophia and the bodies of Grimwald and Veramir.
"I have to go find Averill's corpse and the rest of Wagner's." Liviccic announced as he left.
The queen noted that he did not bow to her, call her 'my queen' or any other act of loyalty or fealty. She'd need to secure him. Between Briarhaven's might, his and Sophia's personal power, and now the lords, Liviccic was a Melromarc asset that could not be ignored. She'd make winning his loyalty a priority.
The kids arrived in front of the large skill. It was intimidating to say the least, especially with Balmus' screams still escaping its mouth. They readied themselves for a fight, but it wasn't all that bad in the end. They continued to attack it over and over again with everything they had and it made no move to stop them. Teal used her small, barely charged [Solar Burst], but after using all five of her slots on that, she was spent and couldn't help further. Leon was also lacking, he had spells to use, but his best one was currently locked. Monti used most of his Mp and Sp, using spells and skills back to back. He still refused to use the replica's other forms. That left Filo to do the most work and she made sure to let Leon know it.
As the spells and abilities began to pile up, the skill began to crumble away and die. They were thankful to Balmus, oddly enough. Had he died sooner, the skill would have fought back. Speaking of Balmus, though, the most unexpected thing occurred.
Balmus was alive, barely.
He was damaged beyond recognition, all his skin was gone, most of his teeth too. He looked like he was in an unworldly amount of pain. He wanted to escape, but also every movement hurt him fiercely. The kids watched him with a mixture of feelings as he tried to crawl away, none of them wanting him to escape, but also none of them wanting to add to his misery.
"The pope is still alive... What should we do?" Monti asked the party via [Tele-communication].
Naofumi and Raphtalia flinched at that. They obviously wanted him dead, but neither wanted the kids to do it. Naofumi went to speak, but Liviccic spoke first.
"I'll be there in a moment." Liviccic said.
And he was, Sophia's thread getting him there in moments. Liviccic moved in Balmus' path he was crawling in.
"Y-You... traitor..."
"That's rich coming from you. You had Grimwald kill my father and I knew that. Everything you thought you knew about me was a lie."
"...Kal-bur will avenge me..." Balmus argued.
"Doubtful. He ran and abandoned you... I wish a demi-human could be the one to kill you or that Naofumi's curse finished the job, but I need you to die from a curse, here and now." Liviccic told him, raising his staff.
Balmus took a moment to think about what to do, but before he could, new people arrived. Naofumi and Raphtalia at first, but also Silvius, Fitts, Chloe and Wymarc came moments after.
"Perfect, Silvius." Liviccic motioned for him to hand his sword to Raphtalia.
She took the weapon hesitantly. She had no issue killing the man, but she would have preferred a fight and not an execution..., but just like with the Cerberus, not all killing is satisfying. Sometimes it is just a deed that needed to be done.
"Shield devil... how...? How did you get this strong? None... of this makes any... sense." Balmus asked.
Naofumi didn't give him an answer and in the next moment, Raphtalia plunged Veramir's sword into him. The grudges of countless demi-humans wielded by another demi-human had slain the pope of the three heroes church. It was seen as a fair act by all. Balmus struggled, refusing to die, but when he went to push back, Raphtalia was gone. Naofumi, Raphtalia, and the kids left the sword in him and left. He wasn't important to any of them. He was left behind, forgotten. Silvius retrieved the weapon when Balmus finally passed.
After some words were shared amongst all present, they went to assist people across the battlefield, it was over.
They found Mia and Godiva surrounded with what remained of their party and lord Averill. To see people that fought alongside them during a wave and now here, to be strung about and in various stages of dismemberment, it felt wrong. Naofumi left the others to deal with the two survivors. He'd heal them, but he was somehow stuck, staring at Kurtis.
Godiva was unconscious but standing, which was stunning. They first tried to get her to lay down, but she fought back when they did. To stop that, Teal had to bind her body with vines and wrestle her to the ground, soon after she stopped. Mia was a bit of an issue too. She wouldn't let go of Sigrid's body. At first, they tried to slowly peel her away, but she just wouldn't budge. Leon eventually used [Sleep Bind] on Mia. Monti made sure that Sigrid's body stayed near her as they moved her.
They would have preferred to give these more delicate moments more time, but protecting those two meant getting them off the battlefield.
Eclair saw the priority that they were giving those two and how Naofumi kept looking at Kurtis, she had to ask.
"You knew this man?" She asked.
"He died here, not retreating. He lost multiple friends just to take this bastard down... And he did it for me and my family, he fought and died so I'd forgive him. He was truly desperate to prove he was-"
"Yeah... He was a good man." Naofumi refused to elaborate further and began to help gather the bodies of Kurtis and his party members.
Liviccic repeated his process on Averill's body, but didn't even consider using it on the others. He had fought alongside them during that wave and now here. No matter how briefly, they were comrades.
...
The wrap up
...
Over 500 people died in the battle. It was a large loss, but put into perspective, it was far better than it could have been. The lords had about 2100 men, the church had 200 men, Liviccic had 400 and the queen had 1300. That less than 600 people died out of a combined 4000 men was a positive.
Naofumi healed dozens of people who needed it to survive, Teal helped. Not all of them allies, but at this point there was no fear, they could do nothing to the family.
Monti stayed with Mia and Godiva in an armored cart. He felt he was not going to be useful anywhere else and thought they'd need someone's support when they awoke.
Leon guarded the armored cart that housed Ren and the others. To his surprise, many of Melty's original knights were here and they helped guard the heroes while praising Leon for saving them back then.
Filo reunited with Melty and prompted Melty to introduce her mother to her new best friend. The queen was a bit jealous of her daughter's relationship with a talking filolial.
Liviccic secured the bodies of the five lords, Balmus, the four archbishops and as many three heroes church followers who were killed by [Eventual Victory] as possible.
Silvius, Fitts, Chloe, and Wymarc explained the horrible truth of Veramir's slaves to Liviccic. He and Wymarc went to the queen soon after. Upon hearing of this evil, she immediately granted Wymarc permission to take his men to Veramir's estate and rescue the victims. She knew that Wymarc would refuse to enter the capital either way, so this saved her the embarrassment. Wymarc made sure to see Naofumi before he departed and tell him that he knew what he had done for his sons and thanked him and Teal, then the rest of the family.
The queen would have to put dozens of things in order. She needed to right too many wrongs to count. She needed to find suitable replacements for the lords lost this day, she needed to gain Naofumi's trust and Liviccic's loyalty, she needed to do all she could to strengthen Melromarc. She had a great many things to do.
On the way back to the castle, Melty told her mother of what happened to Rifana and all that she had seen in her time with Naofumi. She expressed her misgiving with her father and with her, in an open and honest way that shocked and saddened the queen, but Melty refused to be quiet. She expressed that she believed that Naofumi would leave and that she would not ask him to stay, it wasn't fair.
Eclair heard the whole conversation and did her best to defend the queen and tried to argue that Naofumi would stay now, because his family was no longer in danger.
Raphtalia felt an immense happiness. Her new family was alive and well, all of them. The country she was raised in had just taken a major shift to a better future and she had helped to make it happen. She was confident that Melty would see these changes through. She was unsure if they would stay or leave, it would depend on how the queen and Naofumi handled things, but regardless, she was put at ease.
By days end, the 'war' was over. It would take weeks to reorganize the troops. The queen left behind a number of men to see to the detainment, assessment, and then transfer of the men that fought against excluded those who were directly with the three heroes church, they were being sent back with them as prisoners awaiting sentencing. With the ones being sorted she prioritized Grimwald's elites, she needed strong men, now. The various members of leadership and those that the queen needed to speak to began to head back to Castletown. Naofumi made sure to save a fast travel position as close to the border as possible.
They would need it.
...
Away from the battlefield
...
Archbishop Kalbur had ran like a coward. He abandoned Balmus and the church. He heard Balmus' screams at the end and they would probably haunt him for the remainder of his days. He never believed in the church's teachings, but he was raised in it and he excelled at holy magic. His family had been very poor when he was born and he clung to the church to escape that fate. He wanted to claw his way up to something, that's how he made it to archbishop despite his comparatively younger age. If things went well, he was going to be the next staff hero.
But that day would never come and never would have. The shield hero and his party were beyond any reasonable point in terms of power. He kept guessing how high their levels were and how they gained so many without the church picking it up.
He was pulled from his thoughts by a firm hand grabbing his shoulder. It was strong, he'd not escape, but he struggled anyways.
"M-Mercy! Let me go!" Kalbur yelled while he tried to rip his robes to free himself.
"Absolutely not. I have questions and need answers, I'm sure you will do." The unfamiliar voice told him.
"I-I don't know anything, I abandoned them! The church can fall, the queen has won! Mercy!" The shield hero had broken Kalbur's pride and any sense of courage.
"See? Now I know there's a church and a queen around here, you must have all sorts of interesting knowledge that I lack." The man said.
Kalbur stopped. "How could anyone not know this basic informa-" Kalbur turned toward the man and caught sight of his eyes.
His eyes had a glowing green swirl stuck in a dreary purple. It was the same as Monti's, not that Kalbur had seen Monti's eyes to see the connection. He had seen the artificial wave though.
The man was wearing what could best be described as a pitch black hakama, with deep red patterns, not that Kalbur recognized Japanese clothing. His hair was jet black yet it was long for a man and held by something he wasn't familiar with. The odd look of a foreigner helped Kalbur begin to understand.
He grew pale, still and quiet.
"That's better. You see, I'm new in town and wanted to know more about the neighborhood before I decide how to act next... You will tell me everything and serve me until I have no need of you. After that, you can run off to do as you like... Now, I want to know about the heroes of this world, the powers in play, and most importantly... Who on this side opened that wave." Large centipedes came from the man's sleeves and wrapped around Kalbur many times, there seemed to be no end to them.
.
[Author's Notes]
Monti has the replica. How appropriate that the chimera has the weapon that is many different weapons combined. A skill at this point would drain it completely, but as long as he keeps it in shield form and feeds in Sp and Mp, he should have options later.
Now the queen just has to find a way to make Naofumi happy, I wonder how much that will cost her?
Soon the trials. Look forward to a very different punishment.
And Monti's wave has caused an issue...
The chapter was sporadic, but there was a lot to cover and with too many people, forgive me.
