Chapter 2: Split up for safety.

Caer Daythl, September 12th 2012, Midday.

A week had passed, Dipper and Mabel continued to mourn for the loss of their parents, Mabel still stayed in her room with Waddles, Dipper came in occasionally to keep her company, The rest of the watch were kind too, Though their words usually fell on Mabel's deaf ears, she was… too lost in her grief, Dipper would only come in her room at night or to comfort her, But she still kept to herself with Waddles being the only one she would allow near.

When she came out of her room she was… Still friendly, just not as outgoing as before, Instead she was more quiet, more reserved, And only partially spoke to others, Mostly Dipper.

She was currently leaning on a balcony that day, Looked down upon the Courtyard below, Watching the troops going about their duties, Training, Going out, Coming in, Etc..

There was a knock at the door, And Tiara came in.

"Mabel?" She said, "How are you feeling?"

Mabel looked up. "Fine I guess."

"Good to see you out and about." Tiara continued. "Have you seen your Brother?"

"I think he's in the library or something." Said Mabel.

"Well, Come with me." Said Tiara. "I think your Uncle needs a word."

Mabel followed Tiara down the hall, right to the Library where they found Dipper with Uncle Mark and the Prime Commander, Along with a large Badger, Dressed in brown clothes, He wore a pair of small spectacles along his black and white striped snout and carried a cane in his left hand.

"What's going on?" Asked Mabel.

"Take a seat Mabel, we have some… things to discuss." Said Mark.

Mabel took a seat Next to Dipper as the Prime Commander spoke. "Now, I know it's been a week." He said. "And you probably… have some questions."

"Questions?" Asked Dipper. "Our town was burnt to the ground, Our parents are probably dead, and to top it all off… Honestly I'm pretty sure that covers it but still."

Gwydion sighed. "Okay, If you're still wondering about those Rats that attacked you or the whole raising thing, We'll explain as best we can, This is Mr. Rangus Badger, The watch steward."

Mr. Badger shifted his glasses as he addressed the twins. "You are aware of the war being waged between Heroes and Villains, yes?" He asked.

"The… The Heroes vs Disney vs Non Disney Villains war? I thought that ended years ago." Said Mabel.

"I'm afraid it hasn't." Said Badger. "The faction that destroyed Piedmont was led by Lord Jargafar, A vicious faction leader, Who has been going around conquering various locations in the States and other places in the world."

"We have been tracking his movements as best we can." Said Gwydion. "But he's somehow always managed to beat us to his targets, we don't know how."

"You don't know how?" Asked Mabel. "What do you mean you don't know how?"

"Mabel." Said Mark. "It's frustrating I know, But we're trying to figure it out, But right now we have to focus on you kids."

The twins were confused.

"What?" Asked Dipper.

"Us?" Asked Mabel.

"Jargafar is Ruthless." Said Gwydion. "When he destroys a town or any kind of settlement, he always makes sure no one is left, You were left."

"So now he's going to come for us?" Asked Mabel.

"And stop at nothing to get you." Said Gwydion. "We have to do everything we can to keep you safe."

"How?" Asked Mabel.

A short silence followed before Mark sighed.

"Well." He said, Folding his hands behind his back. "We can't risk him getting both of you at once, So… As unfortunate as this is going to sound."

Dipper and Mabel looked at each other worriedly.

"You kids are going to have to be split up for the time being." Mark finished.

"What?" Dipper asked.

"Split up?" Asked Mabel.

"Dipper, We've agreed that you'll accompany your Uncle on his tour of duty for the watch, Mabel will stay with your aunt and uncle in Crossover Town." Said Gwydion.

Mabel was shocked. "Y-you can't-"

"It will not be forever." Gwydion continued. "Only until the tour of duty is done."

"How long will that be?" Asked Dipper,

"Oh about a… Five months." Said Gwydion.

"Five Months?!"

"Sir, Is this… Necessary?" Asked Tiara. "With all due respect they just lost their parents, wouldn't separating them just make this more painful?"

"We're sorry." Said Mark. "But times are becoming more and more dangerous, and Jargafar will stop at nothing to find you, the least we can do is split you up so if he finds one, the other will hopefully be safe."

"So that's it?" Asked Mabel. "Y-Your just gonna… tear us apart like this, Just because some… Guy wants us dead?!"

"Mabel-"

"W-What about Grunkle Stan? He'll take us in, Him and-" Mabel continued.

"Stanford Pines is a known criminal." Said Badger. "We know you love him dearly but it just wouldn't be suitable for you, like at all."

"...Fair enough." Mabel said after a moment.

"Yeah." Shrugged Dipper. "Besides, he's probably dead at sea anyway."

"What?" Asked Mark. "Why would you think that?"

Flashback.

Dipper and Mabel watched with wide eyes as crashing and sounds of monster roaring could be heard.

"Alright, Remember kids!" Called Stan from the other end. "The MCU will never become overrated, Star Wars prequel trilogy sucks and should be sold to Disney, And Spider Man is a Crack dream by Stan Lee! AHH! IT'S GOT MY ARM!"

"Bust out the heavy weapons!" Cried Ford.

And the live feed went static.

Flashback end.

"...I feel like we should have been more devastated." Said Mabel.

"Yeah… you uh… Ahem." Mark collected himself. "Anyways, Mabel you will leave for Crossover Town tomorrow, I know your cousin would be glad to see you."

"I'm… sure she would." Mabel said dejectedly.

Dipper took Mabel's hand into his own. "It's okay Mabel, We'll see each other soon, you'll see."

Mabel sniffed. "I said we weren't ready to head into the unknown, shame on me."

"Yeah… Me too." Said Dipper sadly.

The two twins shared a long hug together.

"Be safe out there Bro Bro."

"You too."

"Uh… I did say tomorrow." Said Mark.

Gwydion quickly shushed him. "Let them have this."

The twins continued their hug before releasing each other and Mabel went sadly back to her room.

Merry Christmas Eve everybody, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, I wanted to make it a bit more angsty but I've never really been good with that, As you can probably tell this story takes place before and during the events of Season 1 of Crossover Legends, Focusing on Mabel, If you've read Crossover legends Season 1, I hope this helps delve into the story a bit more, I've told you what Dipper does but this story will be about Mabel and what she did while she was away from Dipper in the story, I also hope to fill in a few plot Holes in the story with Stan and Ford not being present, But they will be present in the future trust me.
