Chapter 30: I Confront My Ultimate Trial Yet.

Wow, it has been quite a journey, hasn't it? I mean, who knew that a field trip can lead to a chain of unfortunate and epic adventures? You guys probably; after all, you've been here before. Which reminds me, since we're at the end now, I guess there's only one way to finish this.

A proper introduction.

Clears throat.

Hi! My name is Estelle Blofis. And, for the past week, I've been the one and only, Spider-Girl. You probably know how this story goes, I was bitten by a curse spider (not radioactive). I ended up saving Olympus and the gods by beating up the father of monsters, a deadly assassin harpy, a drug-dealing manticore and a talking bull-man. Speaking of, the hunters found the Vulture and the Minotaur still webbed up in the docks and sent them in holdings until the gods can decide what to do with them. Though… something tells me we'll see them again soon.

As for my friend, Sam, since she doesn't have any other blood relatives, Leo and Calypso decided to invite her to their household. So now, she is currently living with the Valdez family and will continue going to school with me. I'm glad, she actually fits in with them pretty well. She is about as crazy as Leo yet kind as Calypso. Though I fear for the mayhem Leo and Sam will pull in the future.

As for Camp, I was welcomed back as a hero and they accepted me as one of their own. Sure, I may not be a demigod like them and I may have a curse from a deadly spider-woman; but it's not the powers that define me, it's how I use it. Anyways, it took a while but I managed to talk to Mitch about Stephanie and how Sam and I knew her. He wasn't open to it at first but eventually, he did. His tone with us softened in time and eventually we became good friends. We made plenty of more friends in Camp, even Lucas Stone from Kane's Boarding School as well. Speaking of, I tend to visit them as well to learn more about other gods and magic. I mean, if I'm going to protect New York, I gotta know how to defend myself against magic.

And so, everyday I would go out, patrol New York and fight any monster that is causing a ruckus in the city. I even do normal hero stuff like stopping robberies, catching bad guys and even helping old ladies cross the street. So far there's no sign of Scorpion OR Typhon, but they'll be found eventually. Right now, I'm still staying in Camp for the summer, along with Sam once she's healed up. It took some convincing with Percy, who's still being an overprotective brother, but he gave up and allowed me to be a part of all of it. He and Annabeth would train me and teach me everything I need to know about the Mythological side of the world. They are also staying in Camp Half-Blood for the time being since New York is still too dangerous for their kids. Still, the kids enjoy being in Camp Half-Blood and since I'm their aunt, I tend to play with them when I have free time.

Frank and Hazel returned to New Rome afterwards but the whole experience left them with some questions, especially regarding Frank's new abilities. He doesn't know much about it since the only people who truly do are no longer with us, so he'll be returning to New Rome to find any more information, with the help of the Kanes as well. Of course, they mostly miss their daughter and want to return to her. So far, things are resolving smoothly. And… every once in a while, I would talk to Percy and others and ask about Piper and… Jason. To think this whole time, those two were close to my family and I never knew anything about it. I know I'll never get the chance to meet Jason but… hopefully I can meet Piper in the future.

Look… I didn't want to be a hero.

Things got out of line and next thing I knew; I'm out here protecting New York.

All I ever wanted was to be a part of Percy's world. He was MY hero; inspiring me to be greater and so much more. And yet, He and the others suffered so much for us. It made me realize that even heroes need saving. If my curse can be used to help others, then it's my choice to use it for good. Percy and Annabeth are still against it, but they will support me and assist me however they can, along with Sam; Leo; Calypso; Frank and Hazel; even Chiron and all of Camp Half-Blood as well. I may have become a variant of Spider-Man, but that doesn't mean I have to do this alone.

Yeah… my life is never going to go back to normal, and you know what? I don't mind, one bit. However… I still have one more trial left to face…

About two days after defeating Typhon, I was back in camp, still covered in some bruises and bandages, I was still kicking. I was told to come visit the big house for something important.

"Chiron?" I called out. "You called for… me?"

As I entered the main hall, I saw mom and dad sitting on the couch with Poseidon.

"Mom? Dad? Poseidon? What are you guys doing here?" I asked.

Mom replied, "Poseidon invited us to Camp to talk about you."

"Really?" I side-eyed Poseidon as I noticed something. He wasn't wearing his casual look and was wearing a formal shirt and pants. Even his hair was more tamed than usual and… did he shave? No way, he probably just changed his look to be more formal. I mean, he's a god, he can literally change how he looks in a snap.

"I was just telling them how grateful I was when you returned my Trident back to me."

"It was nothing," I replied. "I'm just glad things went back to… normal…ish?"

Poseidon chuckled then spoke with a serious tone, "There was also another matter I wish to discuss with your parents?"

I turned pale at what he meant. I knew this day would come, but I was so not ready for it.

"You don't mean…"

"That's right, dear," Mom replied with a very low (and scary) tone. "Now tell me… Spider-Girl. When exactly were you going to tell us about your new… job?"

Yep… I must face my ultimate trial yet: telling my parents about my new summer job. So much for a spectacular beginning for New York's AND Olympus' one and only… Spider-Girl.

"...Crapbasket…"
