There was always a hole in their hearts after Lloyd died, so very far away from home. Like a missing puzzle piece that had fallen out of its box and had been kicked under the fridge by accident. But half a decade later, they realise pieces can be found and the Green Ninja can survive almost anything, wherever they forgot about him or not.

It had only been two weeks after Cole had achieved his True Potential, however things begin getting weirder. He dreams of someone who seems familiar but has no recollection of them. He meets this dream person a while later and feels freaked out at the similarity. Who are they? Why does he feel tied to this person? And what do the Serpentine want with them?

"Never enter the mansion...that is where they wait." All the ninja want to do after the last crazy Day of the Departed is relax. But here comes trouble knocking at the door with a missing ally, and an old, abandoned mansion, and - what in the world is that thing! Watch your backs, ninja. You will not scrape by so cleanly this time. Escape is not so easy.

While trying to navigate a new enemy's dangerous maze, the ninja find the deep secrets that plague their beloved fire ninja. And the difficulties that come from the scars that haunt him.

Set after Crystalised, in a AU where the merge won't happen. I was disappointed at how briefly Lloyd used Oni form in Crystalised, this continues that arc, giving him motivation to explore it further. Wu and Garmadon are a balance of good and evil, I wanted to continue this dynamic in the next generation. This means there is an OC, who is key to the plot. Nice Jay & Cole moments.
