I headed downstairs. My nightmare had woken myself and my parents up earlier than most people, so as I was able to get ready faster than them, I went outside into the cool Egyptian morning. It was only around 5:15am, and breakfast wasn't served until 7, so I decided to go for a swim. I stripped off the lovely dressing gown that was included in the room, and put on my costume. I then eyed up the high diving board. I climbed to the top and tried to work out the best angle to dive from. I was just about to do so, when I heard a voice calling from below.
"Scared, little sis?"
I looked down. It was Fred and George, standing by the poolside, and it was the latter who had spoken.
"No, I was just working out the best way to dive"
"Sure you were, there's no way you're gonna do it" said Fred
"Oh really, watch me then!" I shouted back, and without wasting any further time, I ran to the end of the platform and jumped, did a roll in mid air, and landed headfirst about 3/4's of the way down the pool. The force of my dive pushed me towards the bottom briefly, before I swam upwards and emerged. I moved over to them and crossed my arms on the poolside, resting my head on them and smiling smugly upwards at the shocked looks on the twins faces.
I only said two words.
"Beat that" before I moved to the end of the pool and started doing some lengths. The water felt beautiful, the temperature perfectly matched the cool air conditions and it was so refreshing.
I completed 2 lengths before George called out "oi, watch this". I looked up, and saw that he and Fred were now stood at the top of the diving platform themselves. They both then dived in to join me, neither of theirs were as good as mine, although admittedly still pretty decent.
I swam over to them and we began to talk.
"So what got you up so early?" I asked, resting my elbows on the poolside
"You screaming" said Fred
"I don't know what you're talking about"
"Gin, please save the lies, we're not stupid. We know you had a nightmare about the Chamber of Secrets, and that's perfectly ok. In fact, George and I would probably suffer the same thing if we'd gone through what you had in the last year"
I bit my lip
"Yeah, alright" I finally said "but look, I don't want you making a big issue about it ok, I can handle it myself"
"Ginny, you are the toughest girl we've ever met. We know you can handle it, your aptitude is remarkable for your age. Anyone would be extremely shaken up by what happened in the last year, in fact, we're very impressed that you've coped so well already. This is only a phase that you'll get through soon enough" said George.
I nodded, biting my lip and hoping they were right.
I was then distracted by what I saw over George's right shoulder, it was Tom Riddle, standing on the edge of the pool with his sadistic evil smile. I panicked and rushed up the ladder out of the water.
"Woah, woah Ginny, what's going on?" called George
"Tom Riddle!" I shouted back, pointing towards him
They turned and looked in that direction, then back at me
"There's no one there Gin" said Fred
I stared at them for a moment, then looked back towards Tom, but he was gone
"I swear I saw him" I said
Fred and George exchanged glances, then climbed out of the water to join me.
"Look, Ginny, let us give you some big brotherly advice, ok" said George
I didn't reply, I just nodded, biting my lip.
"What's happening here is perfectly normal. You've been through a hell of a lot recently. It's only natural therefore, that you will experience nightmares and visions like this. Just know that it's not real, and when you have them, try not to panic. If you can be strong and get through them, then they will go away slowly. It'll be difficult, but we know you're up to the task. Can you promise us you'll try?" said Fred
I gnawed on my lip as I listened to him talk, but eventually I nodded.
"Ok, I'll try" I said
"Knew you had it in you" said George, smiling and ruffling my hair
"Thanks, guys" I smiled at them. "You know, you can be really kind and helpful when you put your minds to it"
"We know. Only don't tell Mum and Dad, we don't want them thinking we're capable of being sensible."
The three of us laughed and we made our way inside to breakfast, using a small changing room next to the pool to put on normal clothes first.
Breakfast was delicious as you'd expect from such a fancy place. I had some Emmer, which is a type of flat bread, alongside my Shakshuka, which is poached eggs with mixed vegetables.
Fred and George had some Eggah, which they only chose because they thought the name was funny. It turned out to be an egg omelette, which they found disgusting, much to everyone's amusement after they had mocked the name. What made it even better was that the rest of us really liked it!
"We've got that VIP Pyramid tour booked for today, and the Prophet are going to be there to get that picture of us afterwards. They've prepared some Egyptian clothes for us, which they want us to wear in the shot to make it look as good as possible. Bill owled me about an hour ago to let us know. He's meeting us there, and so will Charlie, his Portkey from Romania will arrive at about 10, so he's going straight there from the arrival point" said Dad.
"When will we put these clothes on?" asked Percy
"Before we leave this morning. They're all in your room's wardrobes at the moment"
I looked in the wardrobe as soon as I got back upstairs to my room. It had a full size mirror on the inside of the door. I grabbed the clothes in my hands and was just about to start changing, when I saw Tom standing right behind me in the mirror! I dropped the clothes and shut my eyes, tightly, remembering what Fred had said.
"It's not real, it's not real" I muttered to myself, as I turned around. I opened my eyes very slowly. Nothing. Just my room, with a lovely breeze now flowing in through my open window.
Feeling a bit more confident now, I smiled to myself, closed my curtains, and began to change.
