In the lab, Donnie and Tal were working on the brain virus Naomi and Ames retrieved. "Okay, um, some hydroxyphenyl propionic acid, one drop of glutathione." Donnie said as he placed a drop on the Brain Virus.
"Well, we're getting somewhere." Tal said with a thoughtful look as Mikey steps in.
"Whoa sweet! Hahaha! Where'd you guys get all the cool toys guys?" Mikey asked eagerly, looking at them.
"They're not toys Mikey, it's a trophy shelf, they're... collectables," Donnie answered while Mikey looked at all of them.
"Is this the Kraang mind control thingy?" Mikey asked playfully, making buzz sounds that started to annoy Donnie and Tal a little.
"Mikey please, be careful with those," Tal told the orange-clad turtle, "We need to reverse engineer this Brain Virus to free Olly,"
"Ooh, the Creep!" Mikey said while looking at the jar of the remains of the creep. "Remember when Raph into a plant? Ha, good times." He joked while Tal and Donnie growled as Mikey moved around. "Aw yeah, Snakeweed's claw! Isn't this Slash's spike? And this is the obur.. Ober.." He started as he tried to sound out the name of a familiar book. "Uh, the Dream Book! Ooh, and-!"
"Mikey, we're trying to work!" Donnie yelled as he slammed his hands down, which startled Mikey, causing him to trip, which created a loud thud as a drop of the red substance in a beaker let loose a drop that fell into Donnie's hand. "Ow!" He called as he rubbed his hand.
"Donnie! Are you okay?" Tal asked in concern while checking Donnie's hand.
"I'm fine." Donnie said while rubbing his hand. "Except Mikey ruined days of work!"
"Donnie, that 'accident' only happened because you lost your temper," Tal said with a look. "Besides it was just one drop, the mixture itself is still in good condition,"
Donnie shook his head in realization. "You're right." He said as he picked up the chair. "I must've been too annoyed to notice." He said as he walked off. "I'm gonna get some antiseptic. Make sure Mikey doesn't touch anything." He said as he walked off.
The two watched him as Mikey frowned, "I feel bad for Donnie," He said, "He still hasn't gotten his sweet Mystic powers like us,"
"Well, unlike me, Donnie is usually about logic. He thinks everything is science. Which makes it hard for him to find his mystic powers." Tal said with a sigh. "He just feels like he's the weak link in the team."
"He should just do what I do, don't think too hard and just roll with it, yo," Mikey said while leaning on a large canister, accidentally knocking it over and falling down, causing the items on the shelf to tremble.
"Mikey!" Tal exclaimed while looking at the items as she and Mikey quickly caught them as they placed them on the desk while Creep's jar landed on a spilled drop of the red content mixture as it seeped through the cracks, "This is why you aren't supposed to touch anything in here!" She stated hotly.
"Uh, don't worry, I can fix it!" Mikey said as he looked at the items and then quickly placed them back into their original place. "Good thing I have my photographic memory. That wasn't as bad as it could have been." He said with a smile before walking out.
Tal sighed before looking at the table and shrugging, "I suppose it could be worse," She said before walking out after Mikey.
What she didn't see was the Creep's jar growing green as it cracked some more, fell to the ground on its own and shattered. A green glow illuminated the wall as a familiar figure rose up from behind the desk.
At the Training Ground, Miwa ran a hand through her hair, now done in a new style which was similar to her mother's, wearing a Ninja Gi remiencient of the Hamato Clan.
"Wow, Miwa, you're rocking that look," April commented with finger guns and a wink.
"Thanks." Miwa said with a smile. "If I have to move on from my past and embrace my true clan, I think I change to fit in other than the Foot."
"And you did your hair too." Robyn noted.
"Yeah. Gotta have a new look. And this was my mother's style." Miwa said with a smile, "Thought I'd honor her memory with it,"
Splinter placed a hand on Miwa's shoulder and gave a warm smile, "She would have been very proud of you, my daughter," Splinter told her as Miwa smiled back. Splinter then turned to the O'Neil sisters, "And April, Robyn, your skills have much improved. Now let's see how they compare to Miwa's," He suggested.
"Two on one? Sounds unfair, for you two." Miwa said with a smirk as she readied her tanto, "Don't expect me to go easy on you,"
"Wouldn't have it any other way," April said while fanning herself with her Tessen.
"Hajime!" Orimura declared from his stand as the three girls began to spar.
"Five against four?" Jenny questioned with a smirk as she, Raph, Naomi, and Vee fought the other half to the turtles.
"We can take you guys with our heads in our shell." Raph taunted as the four were pushed back.
"You asked for it!" Ames said as she lashed her whips forward and charged. Donnie stopped as he looked on for a moment while in deep thought before Mikey was tossed at him.
Then the Creep was still in Donnie's lab and brought its vines over to the chemicals which glowed upon being absorbed, which was making the monster stronger. It got a pair of overalls that were on the shelf before noticing the Snakeweed claw.
Soon it heard noises outside and opened the door to see the Shell Tribe going about their night as Franklin, Harriet and some other children ran by playing catch. The Creep made creepy breathing noises as it heard voices coming from the training grounds.
Back with the Turtles who were still sparring, Donnie and Jenny were fighting; the Yellow-Clad turtle dodged a few staff jabs before she tried to jab at her claw at Donnie before he caught it with his staff, flinging it away. "What the?" Jenny said in surprise.
Donnie then got distracted by a leaf floating by before Jenny used her other claw and grabbed his staff, flipped him to the ground before sitting on his shell and pulled on his leg, which made him cry in pain. "Okay, Jenny! Mercy! White flag! I surrender!" He pleaded while slapping his arms against the ground.
"Wow, Donnie, I thought you had me there for a second," Jenny said with a smirk. "But, that was just embarrassing." She commented before Orimura came over to her with a stern glare. Jenny gave a nervous smile and let Donnie go as she helped him up.
"You hesitated, Donatello," Orimura said to him. "Why?"
"I-I know should've countered right there, Grandmaster," Donnie said while rubbing his head. "I-I guess I drew a blank." He said.
Tal and Donnie were walking back to the lab while the Creep watched them From behind a tree while breathing heavily. "Are you okay, Donnie?" Tal asked in concern.
"I thought a little training would clear my head and help me find my Hamato Ninpō," Donnie said while scratching his hand. "I can't even seem to figure out this Brain Virus solution for Olly." He added as the Creep then went out of sight.
"Don't feel like that, Donnie," Tal said to him. "I'm sure you'll find your powers. I mean, we all had ours, so maybe when your moment comes, it'll come to you."
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Donnie said with a sigh. "Maybe I need to focus more on the Brain Virus."
"Why don't you let me focus on it for a while," Tal suggested with a smile.
Donnie gave a smile back, "Thanks Tal, I can always count on you," He said, kissing her cheek.
Tal giggled as she went ahead. "What are girlfriends for?" She asked before she looked into the lab and she screamed, which made Donnie rush to her as they saw the entire lab was a mess. "What the...?! The entire lab is trashed!"
"But, who did…" Donnie started before he gave a glare. "Mikey!" He screamed.
"It jumped off the shelf on its-" Mikey cried as he rushed in and slipped on the pink substance on the floor. "What the?!" He called before he looked at the lab. "Whoa! Okay, I totally didn't do this. At least, I don't think I did this."
"Mikey!" Donnie snapped, which made Mikey flinch.
"Donnie, I was here, and I can tell you that Mikey didn't even do this." Tal said, defending Mikey.
"Then who did?!" Donnie questioned while gesturing to the mess.
Tal gave a sigh. "Must've been the chickens again. They don't know when to stay out." She relented before taking some cleaning supplies, "Let's just get this place clean," She said while passing Donnie a broom.
"I can help." Mikey said as Donnie and Tal start cleaning. "I won't break anything." Mikey saw an old Kraang robot head and picked it up. "The stuff that is the stuff must be what is known as picked up or the head of one known as Donatello will explode." He spoke in a Kraang voice, which made Tal giggle while Donnie gave a dull look.
"That was what is known as very funny, one called Mikey," Tal said in her own Kraang voice as she and Mikey laughed.
"Okay, real funny." Donnie dully said, taking the Kraang head from Mikey. "Just don't try to break anything else, Raph, or spill anything or drop anything…"
"You just call me Raph, dude." Mikey said with a confused look. "I'm Mikey."
"I did?" Donnie asked in surprise. "I-I… whatever." He said as he shook his head. "Just clean up, Mikey." He said as he walked off.
"You okay, D?" Tal asked in concern.
"I'm fine. Why?" Donnie asked.
"Because you're holding the broom upside down." Tal pointed out as Donnie was sweeping the broom upside down, which he realized and put it back right side up.
"Yeah. I-I meant to do that." Donnie said sheepishly before he felt a slight pain on his head. "It's just… I have a bad headache." He said as Mikey gave Donnie a chair to sit on.
"I'll go and get you some ice," Tal said as she walked off. "You just sit for a sec." She said as she rushed to the kitchen while the Creep watched her from the side.
April, Miwa, and Robyn were taking a break in the dining hut as Tal came in and opened the freezer as Ice Cream Kitty meowed and gave Tal an ice pack. "Thanks, Ice Cream Kitty," Tal said with a smile as she rubbed Ice Cream Kitty, who purred at the touch.
"Hey, Tal. What's up?" Robyn asked in wonder as Tal turned to them.
"To be honest, I'm not sure." Tal said in concern. "I think something's wrong with Donnie. He's been having blank thoughts lately, but I'm not sure why."
"Maybe he's just distracted." Miwa said with a shrug. "I mean, he has been feeling frustrated that you guys found your mystic powers but he still hasn't."
Dariyasa then walked in, "Donatello often puts too much burden on himself," She told the girls as the Creep watched them through the gap, "Sometimes the solution arises when you take a moment away from the problem," She said wisely.
"Thanks, mother," Tal said with a smile as Dariyasa smiled before she heard a meow and turned to Ice Cream Kitty.
"Please close the freezer," Dariyasa said in amusement. "Ice Cream Kitty is beginning to melt." She said as Tal gasped when she saw Ice Cream Kitty melting with lack of cold before she perked up and turned away, "Wait," She said as the girls turned to her.
"What is it?" Miwa asked.
"I sense…a familiar presence," Dariyasa said suspiciously. "One I haven't felt since…" Her eyes widened when she identified what it was. "Oh no, the Training Ground, Quickly!" She urged the girls as they rushed out of the dining area.
In the training ground, Vee and Leo were clashing with each other with their weapons while Orimura meditated across from them. "Whoa! Easy, Vee! That's why it's called training?" Leo asked with a smirk.
"Just because I like you doesn't mean I would go easy on you, Heroboy," Vee said with a smirk as Leo blushed from that.
Orimura's eyes then shot open as he saw the Creep behind the two teenage turtles, "Look out!" He shouted to them.
"Huh?" Leo and Vee said before they turned around just in time to see The Creep punch them away and stomp towards them.
"The Creep?!" Leo asked in shock.
"It's back?!" Vee called as she and Leo drew their weapons and were joined by Orimura. "Any advice, Dad?"
"Yes daughter, hit it, very, very hard!" Orimura ordered as they charged at the creep and slashed at it, which caused some goo to come out with each slash. But then, the Creep predicted their movements before it somehow made the tree branches grapple them down to the ground before pinning them to a wall.
"Since when can The Creep control trees?!" Leo strained.
"Never. This is new." Vee said as they struggled to break free.
"Release us at once, creature!" Orimura ordered as the Creep gave a smirk at them before the others rushed into the Training Grounds.
"You!" Raph yelled with a glare.
"The Creep is back?!" Ames asked in shock as the Creep shrieked before it tossed Leo, Vee, and Orimura to the others as Raph and Jenny charged at it.
"How is that freak back?!" April asked in shock.
"Didn't you turn that pile of mud and grass back to swamp goop?" Miwa asked them.
"It doesn't matter how it's returned, let's just defeat it again!" Naomi stated, drawing her spear.
"Alright, Creep, you want some of our mutagen, then how about…" Raph started before the Creep roared, waving it's arms and glowed green. "Whoa! What's it doing?"
"Don't know, but it's not good," Jenny muttered as the Creep then charged at them as they were whacked back at its quick speed and tree attacks. "Okay, is it just me or is this guy tougher than the last time?" She moaned.
"No, it's not just you." Tal moaned as Dariyasa charged at the Creep, hit it where its pressure points were before she flipped it out of the training ground with a yell.
"Is everyone alright?" Dariyasa asked in concern.
"Hai, Grandmistress." They all said as they followed the trail and to Donnie's lab as they saw it was slimed.
"That Creep! Must be what's trashed the lab!" Donnie exclaimed while looking at the mess. "But how did it get out?" He wondered before Mikey got between him and Raph.
"Mikey!" They both exclaimed as Mikey flinched back.
"It wasn't my fault!" Mikey yelled with a look.
"Why do you guys always assume it's Mikey?" Ames questioned with a brow.
"Is everyone alright?" Robyn called as she and the others entered the lab.
"Think so. But the Creep's gone." Raph said while Donnie was scratching his hand again while looking around.
"I don't get it, last time we fought it, it chased us relentlessly to get our mutagen," Tal said in confusion, "Why would it run away?" She wondered.
"Well, I think it split with something from the Toy Shelf," Mikey said, noticing something from Donnie's Trophy shelf was missing, "The Snakeweed claw is gone!"
"Why would it want that for?" Miwa asked in confusion.
"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling I know why.." Donnie said before he proceeded not to explain what was concerning him.
"Yeah?" Raph asked, trying to remind him to talk.
"Um.. wait.. what were we talking about again?" Donnie asked confusion, which surprised them upon hearing this.
In the Forest, the Creep was walking through the trees and holding the Snakeweed claw in its hand, feeding it energy as it pulsed in the rhythm of a heartbeat and glowed green.
Donnie was looking at one of his chemical jars weirdly before flicking it, and it made a sound in response, making Donnie chuckle. "Okay Donnie, focus, we need to find the creep." Leo asked as they stood over him.
"The Creep is back?! Oh man, my experiments!" Donnie said in shock which was just confusing now.
"Are you alright? Your acting more spaced out than Mikey and Ames?" Raph asked, helping him back up.
"Hey!" Mikey and Ames both said, offended on that remark.
"Wait a minute," Tal said as she looked at the beaker that Donnie was looking as her eyes widened. "The Brain Virus! This is the mixture Donnie and I were working on earlier,"
"And Mikey spilled some on me," Donnie said while scratching his hand again.
"We don't have time for this! We gotta find the Creep before it tries to steal the mutagen from the village!" Jenny exclaimed.
"But we don't even know where it is," Leo said with his arms crossed. "It could be anywhere on the island by now. And last time, it nearly had all of us."
"There is one place you should check," Orimura spoke up as they turned to him. "There is an old village that the tribe used to live in generations ago. But it has been reclaimed by the forest when we were forced to abandon it,"
"Why, what forced you out?" Raph questioned with his arms crossed.
"A story for another time," Orimura said before furrowing his brow, "For now, you must find that creature, learn what it is doing and stop it,"
"Then we better get going," Leo said as he walked off. "Come on, Team."
Later the Turtles and human girls were following the Creep's trail slime through the forest, which fades the more they follow it. "The trail is starting to run cold," Leo said to them. "It must've patched itself up by now."
"What do you got, Donatello?" Naomi asked as Donnie seemed to be typing onto his T-Phone as Tal looked behind him while giving a surprised look.
"Is that a… video game?" Tal asked in surprise.
"What the heck are you doing, man?" Miwa questioned him in confusion, "We're on a mission here!"
"Just use your ooze scanner," Leo said to Donnie.
"Oh right." Donnie said as he took out his scanner and held it upside down and backward, " I just... I just can't.. why won't this thing work?!" He asked, shaking the scanner in frustration.
"Dude! You're holding upside down and backward!" Jenny exclaimed, "What's wrong with you?!"
"Yeah, you've been acting like a weirdo all day, Don," Ames added.
"That's what I was trying to tell you," Tal said as Donnie hung his back dopily, "I think Donnie's condition had something to with the Brain Virus he got splashed by."
"Do you think the Creep got splashed by it too?" April said while rubbing her chin.
"Yeah, I mean, did you guys notice that weird face it gave us during the fight?" Robyn asked.
"Yeah." Raph nodded in agreement. "He doesn't look like his usual mindless sack of grass." He noted.
"I think the brain serum works both ways," Tal said with a concerned look. "I think when less intelligent creatures touch it they get smarter, like the Creep, but for very intelligent beings like Donnie, it slowly makes them dumber."
"So, Donnie's gonna get…" Vee tried to say.
"Hey, look! Pizza tree!" Donnie called while looking at a normal tree in awe.
"Yeah, that," Tal said with a sigh before she picked up Donnie's scanner and activated it. "Guys, the Creep is north from here, in the same direction as the Old Village."
"Okay, then we move out." Leo said with a smile. "Raph, Mikey, Vee, Jenny, Tal, Ames, Naomi, Miwa, you're with me. Robyn and April, you two keep an eye on Donnie." He instructed as Donnie started moving his mouth while staring off in space.
Tal and Mikey looked back at Donnie with concern before they followed after the others. "Should be easy. I mean, looking after Donnie shouldn't be harder than looking after Casey, Mikey or Ames." Robyn said with a shrug.
"Yeah, I mean. With him in his condition, he should be…Where'd he go?" April asked as when she turned, Donnie was gone.
"Donnie?" Robyn asked as she looked around. "Oh, fantastic." She muttered.
A bit later, the Hamato Teens came to the old abandoned village, with broken huts, with plants, cobwebs and fungus growing everywhere. "Wow. Orimura wasn't kidding when he said about this place." Mikey commented, rubbing his arm, looking creeped out.
"Oh, grow up, Scaredy-Shell, we got a Creep to catch," Raph said as they kept moving while Mikey gave a look.
"Hey, who said I was scared?" Mikey questioned before he heard the sound of wood being stressed, gulped, and rushed after them, "I was just thinking once we take down the Creep what are we gonna do to get Donnie back to normal, I mean I could probably be the smart turtle from now on but I'm already the naming turtle, the funny turtle," He listed before he heard the sound again, "And also the brave Turflytle!" Mikey declared before a tree branch fell behind him.
Mikey screamed in fright and rushed behind Leo, cowering in fear while covering his head while the others looked at him in amusement. "Yeah, real brave, bro," Raph commented.
"Okay, now remember guys, don't let the Creep touch you," Leo instructed.
"No kidding," Raph said, knowing from experience since he was turned into a plant as they quietly went into the abandoned village and saw at the center of the village was the Creep with the Snakeweed claw on the ground, still pulsing.
"The Snakeweed Claw," Miwa breathed out.
"What's it doing?" Ames asked in wonder.
"I think he connected Snakeweed's claw to the roots of the plantation. But for what?" Tal muttered as they saw the claw open up; the Creep smiled when some vines moving around. "Oh, no…"
Just then, Donnie appeared behind them. "Hey, guys. What up-?" Donnie was cut off when Tal quickly covered his mouth, and the others shushed him.
The Snakeweed Claw then opened up like a flower in bloom as the mutant the claw originated from sprouted out of it. "This looks bad," Leo muttered.
"Whoa. The Creep made a…." Mikey started.
"Son of Snakeweed." Donnie finished with a smile.
"That's what I was gonna name it," Mikey complained with a look before they were knocked back by Snakeweed. They stood up and drew their weapons as they, sans Jenny and Raph, charged and fought Snakeweed while the Hotheads glared at the Creep glaring at them.
"Where did these guys come from?!" Donnie questioned as he blocked Snakweed's attack.
"They're working together!" Ames called as she doded a strike.
"Just like in Swamp Creatures 2: Electric Swamaloo!" Mikey exclaimed as he slash a root from Snakeweed.
Raph and Jenny finally charged at the Creep, repeatedly stabbing it in the chest before going for its face, which didn't seem to do anything. Snakeweed and the other's went right by Creep with Donnie looking at it in fright for a moment right as Raph and Jenny vanished like the Creep did when they went by. The Creep was confused for a moment before the two turtles charged at him from the other side and leaped at him off the roof, making him slam right into a pole through the chest, which made it screech in pain.
They were about to leave before the Creeps roars stopped and they turned around and saw it was gone. They looked around for the Creep until it appeared behind them and launched its huge arms at Raph and Jenny. They twirled away from the attack and now tried repeatedly stabbing it again and again like before across the roof, but this caused them to be tired out after multiple strikes.
"Okay, we give." Jenny panted looking at the Creep, "Your turn,"
"Yeah. Give us your best shot." Raph dared as the Creep frowned and tilted its head at them quizzedly.
A minute later, the two were flung through the air screaming towards the others still fighting Snakeweed. "Why do we always encourage the bad guys to hit us, why?" Raph groaned.
Miwa sliced through the Weed Titan's legs with her palm claws before she saw the pink goo on her hands, "Ugh, gross!" She complained, shaking her hands before turning to Snakeweed, "It's no use! No matter how much we chop 'em, they just grow back."
"Everyone, fall back!" Leo ordered as they all ran through the forest.
"I-I don't understand! I can't think of anything!" Donnie cried while Tal dragged him behind her.
"Donnie, that brain serum is degrading your mind! So far, you're lucky to even keep up with us!" Tal exclaimed as they tried to outrun the two plant mutants.
"If the Creep is after mutagen, maybe we can lure it into a trap!" Mikey suggested.
"That's actually a good idea, Mikey," Tal commented.
"Yeah, but we gotta use ourselves as bait!" Mikey continued.
"Then we might need some extra muscle," Raph suggested as he took out his sais as Leo's T-Phone started ringing.
"Leo! Thank goodness! Donnie's gone!" April called.
"We got him! We're on our way! And get Mutanimals! We need their help!" Leo instructed with a serious look.
With Tal and Donnie, Tal leads Donnie to an empty part of the forest. "Tal, what's going on?!" Donnie asked frantically as Tal grabbed him and put him behind a tree.
"Calm down, Donnie. Just stay here and relax. I'll come back for you." Tal said softly as she gave Donnie a quick kiss on the lips as she rushed off to the others. "Hey, Compost Heap! Over here!" She called out as she ran off.
The Creep walked after her slowly while Donnie whimpered fearfully as it passed him. Donnie then spots a squirrel squeaking by as he gasps. "Squirrel!" He cheered as he chased after it.
The Hamato Teens rushed off with the plant mutants behind them. "Seriously, shouldn't Snakeweed be talking?!" Miwa questioned. "Last time we fought him, he usually rasp about something!" She added, noting how quiet Snakeweed was being.
"I think it's because that's not the same Snakeweed! It's just either a clone or a spawn that originates from him!" Tal exclaimed. "It may have his body and powers, but not his mind or personality!"
"She's right!" Ames called out while dodging a swipe. "Mikey and I saw the original Snakeweed during Fishface's underground skating contest!"
"Yeah! This walking celery stick here is just a Rip-off!" Mikey added.
Snakeweed roared and lashed a claw at them which they dodged, "Oh great, now you made him angry!" Vee exclaimed sarcastically.
"Just keep luring them away! We need to draw them in!" Leo called out as they kept running through the forest. "We're almost there!"
"Come on, Saladfaces, this way!" Jenny taunted Snakeweed and The Creep as they followed the Teen and turned a corner.
"Over here swamp creatures!" Mikey called out.
"Guys, now!" Leo called while coming out from behind the trees was Slash before he grabbed the two plant mutants.
"Trying to steal suck our pals dry, huh?!" Slash questioned as he raised his mace, but the Creep caught it as it tried to push it back, "Leatherhead, now!"
Leatherhead then roared as he charged out of the woods toward the three before Donnie jumped out between them, "I like French Fries," He said with a smile.
"Donnie?!" Tal exclaimed in shock as she jumped and pushed Donnie out of the way as Leatherhead tackled Snakeweed, "Didn't I tell you to stay put?!" She asked with a frown.
"Wow, you are one pretty Turtle," Donnie told her in wonder.
Tal gave a dull look from that. "Right. Brain serum." She muttered before she turned with a giggle and a blush. "He called me pretty." She said to herself.
Leatherhead and Slash managed to bring the Creep and Snakeweed together and tied them to an old tree as Slash looked ahead. "Rockwell, soak 'em!" Slash exclaimed.
"Righty-o," Rockwell said as he appeared and levitated two barrels of oil and sprayed them onto the two plant mutants while Slash and Leatherhead moved aside. "Now all we need is a spark."
"I can be of some assistance." Naomi said as her brown markings appeared and she summoned a Shell Shield, "Michelangelo, if you won?"
"Sure thing!" Mikey called as his markings appeared and he wrapped his chains around Naomi's shield and spun it around. "All fired up and now, Whip-a-rama!" He declared flinging the Blazing Shell at the two Plant Mutants before the fire ignited the oil, causing it to explode and destroying the two as they all cheered in victory.
"You got stir-fried, son!" Jenny taunted.
"Whoa!" Robyn called as she and April came out of hiding.
"Where did you two learn to do that?" April asked with an impressive smile.
"It's a one-two combination attack of our mystic abilities," Naomi said with a smile. "We recently discovered that if we combine our mystic abilities, they become stronger."
"Just like us, Turtles are better together," Mikey declared with a smile, "High-Three!"
"Now's not the time, Mikey," Leo said as they looked at Donnie.
Donnie then got up and saw the flames. "Wow look at that fire! You guys wanna toast some marshmallows?!" He asked eagerly, looking at it.
The others got concerned while the three Mutanimals gave weird looks. "Uh, what's up with Donatello?" Slash asked in confusion.
"We'll explain later," Tal said as she walked up to Donnie and pulled him away from the flames. "Let's get Donnie back home, ASAP." She said as they all walked off from the fire for it to be put out while on the ground were plant remains of Snakeweed and the Creep combined into one with purple ooze on it.
Back at the Village, Donnie's dumbness was worsening as he started running all over the place, laughing like a little kid as Tal and April chased after him, "Donnie, stop it!" Tal ordered as they ran by the others, "I mean it!" She said as she and April chased her boyfriend the other.
"So basically, Donatello's experiment is somehow turning him into an idiot," Slash summarized what the Turtles told them.
"Yeah, and it's getting worse every minute," Raph said as they saw Donnie swinging on a tree swing.
"When did we get a tree swing?" Donnie laughed as Tal and April rushed to him.
"Donnie!" April called as she and Tal tried to pull him off the swing.
"Yeah, and the only ones who could figure out what's wrong with Donnie are Tal and Donnie himself." Leo said as Donnie placed a jar in his mouth, which Leo removed as Donnie had his jaw opened before he ran off with a laugh as Tal and April came to them.
"Don's a fast turtle even when he's dumb," Tal muttered while taking a breath.
"Got any ideas how we can get the Old Donnie back," April panted.
Rockwell rubbed his chin, "Perhaps with what remains of the Virus that affected him, we could retrofit an antidote," He suggested, "Talena, Michelangelo, come with me." He said before walking towards Donnie's lab.
"Wait, Mikey's coming with-?" Vee asked in surprise before Donnie snuck behind her and snatched her mask, "H-hey!" She exclaimed and chased after Donnie, running away with her mask.
The three entered Donnie's lab while Tal looked at Mikey. "Are you sure you're up for it, Mikey?" She asked.
"It's my fault Donnie got splashed by that brain juice," Mikey said as Donnie ran behind them with Vee chasing him.
"Not kidding! Give that back!" Vee exclaimed while reaching for Donnie to get her mask back.
"So I want to help make it right." Mikey continued as Donnie ran back, but with Leo's mask as well in his hands.
"Donnie!" Leo called as he and Vee chased after Donnie.
Rockwell then carefully took the serum that had affected Donnie, "Alright, I think I know the perfect treatment for this but I will need you both to do precisely what I say," He instructed.
"Okay, doc. Explain." Tal nodded before turning to Mikey. "But you may need to make sure you dumb it down to a Mikey level of understanding."
"Yeah, I mean, I listen to what Donnie has to say, but not the big words or so." Mikey said in agreement.
"Okay, then Michelangelo, pour some of the red mixture into the purple." Rockwell instructed as Mikey took the instructed chemicals, "But be sure to pour it in continuously or…"
But he didn't get to finish as the purple chemical began to glow and exploded into Mikey's face as he yelled in surprise while covering his face from the explosion. "It will cause an explosive reaction?" Tal finished with a brow.
"Yes," Rockwell said with a sigh.
Back with the others, Leo and Vee got their masks as they watched Donnie crawling on the ground while playing with Ice Cream Kitty. "What do you think, Masters?" Leo asked the three masters.
"It is possible what caused the problem will, in turn, provide a solution," Dariyasa suggested.
"Perhaps meditation could aid him," Splinter suggested as Donnie had Ice Cream Kitty on his head.
"Ah! The snowcats are stealing the power of my brain! We're doomed!" Donnie yelled as he flopped to the floor. "I'm melting! Melting!" He cried out like the villain from some movie.
"A lot of meditation perhaps," Orimura said with a brow.
"Ugh, even Mikey and Ames are geniuses compared to him," Raph commented before Ames used her whip and slashed Raph on the back of his head. "Ow!"
"Dude, present company here," Ames said with a glare.
Leo sighed, "Let's just hope Doc Rockwell can fix him," He said hopefully.
"Considering he is working with Talena, I'm confident they will find a solution," Naomi said.
"I know Doc, and he's the smartest guy I know, apart from Donatello Talena," Slash said with his arms crossed. "If anyone can fix him, with him and Tal together, they'll cure him."
In the lab, Mikey, Rockwell, and Tal are pouring in some chemicals as the mixture is cyan-blue, and Rockwell looks at it quizzedly. "Now, there's just one element missing, something that will counteract the viruses effects," Rockwell said.
"Maybe it just needs some pepperoni for flavor?" Mikey suggested holding up a piece of pepperoni from his box.
Tal sighed, "Mikey, try and be serious, the last thing we need right now is…" She trailed off before gasping in realization and beamed, "Wait, of course! The beef nitrates in Pepperoni act as the perfect counteractive for the Virus's intellectual degradation!" She called.
"Hmm, yes, yes, of course," Rockwell said while rubbing his chin with a smile. "That is correct. Excellent idea, Michelangelo. Put it in."
"Sure thing, dawg," Mikey said as he flipped the pepperoni up before it landed into the mixture and dissolved as the others came into the lab. "Check it out, guys!" He cheered as he showed the others the mixture, which they flinched away when they thought it would explode. "Brain juice for Donnie! Mmm-mmm! Delicious!"
"Once Donnie drinks this, he'll be back to normal!" Tal cheered.
"And you let Mikey help?" Leo questioned uncertainty. "Because if you did, we don't know what that could do to Donnie."
"Now, normally I would agree with you, Leonardo," Rockwell spoke up. "But Michelangelo has helped us find the perfect counter agent to the brain serum."
"Yeah, bro. I pay attention." Mikey said as he placed the mixture on the table. "Remember that freaky mutant wasp?"
"This is a whole other thing, Mikey!" Vee stated as Tal sighed.
"For the love of… You guys really gotta trust us more." Tal said as she grabbed the beaker as Donnie came aimlessly in. "Oh, Donnie, I got a treat for you." She said with a smile while holding the beaker at him.
"Treat?" Donnie asked in interest while seeing the beaker. "Mmm, pizza-shake." He said with a smile.
"Specially made for you, Donatello," Rockwell said.
"Well, dig in, bro," Mikey declared eagerly.
"No!/Donnie!/Wait!" The others called out as Donnie took the beaker and started drinking it while Rockwell, Tal, and Mikey smiled as they saw Donnie drank the whole thing as he then started coughing and dropped the beaker with his back turned to them.
"Donnie?" Leo asked in concern.
"Say something." April pleaded.
Donnie stood that way for a moment before he turned and gave a dopey face with his tongue out, eyes crossed, and head tilted as Tal and Mikey looked in shock; Rockwell still smiled while the others glared at them. "Mikey!/Tal!/Rockwell!" They exclaimed.
Mikey shrugged with a nervous laugh while Tal tapped her fingers together, both smiling sheepishly, "Oh, no need for concern," Rockwell assured with a hand up, "That reaction is perfectly normal."
"Really?" Miwa questioned.
"Yes. This is just a side effect of the serum. It means it's working." Rockwell explained while putting Donnie's tongue back in his mouth. "It will take a bit of time for the serum to restore his intelligence back to its original level, but he'll be right as rain in no time."
"So we have to wait for Dumbatello to turn back to Donnie?" Jenny asked with a brow.
"Yes. So, now, we wait." Rockwell said before they heard Aspidochelone roaring in pain as the ground shook.
"Aspidochelone!?" Dariyasa exclaimed in concern as they all held onto something.
"Island quake!" Mikey yelled as they all rushed outside.
"What's happening?!" Orimura called as they looked around.
Pete then flew above the trees to see giant root-like tendrils growing all over the Island, siphoning bluish-green energy from the ground, releasing greenish fog from plumes and snatching animals from the forest, "Um guys, I don't you beat The Creep and Snakeweed exactly," Pete said in worry.
"What?!" Raph questioned.
"What do you mean?!" Jenny questioned in disbelief.
"Well, I think that might be an example," Slash said as he pointed ahead and they saw a giant tree mutant with a fanged head that looked like a combination of the Creep and Snakeweed, with four glowing yellow eyes and large clawed hands that roared and disappeared further into the forest.
"Whoa! The Creep and Snakeweed have combined into, Creepweed!" Mikey exclaimed in horror.
Donnie had Ice Cream Kitty back on his head as he danced around and babbled. "This is bad. Donnie help us with something like that!" Leo called in worry.
"Unfortunately, I don't see that happening at the moment," Tal said while seeing Donnie moving around.
Soon more of Creepweed's tendrils rose up and surrounded the village as Aspidochelone continued roaring in pain, "What is that monster doing to our island!?" Dariyasa exclaimed.
"It's like Creepweed is making the island it's own giant plant food buffet!" Mikey called in worry. "Just like in Swamp Creatures 8: Swampman takes Manhattan!"
"It's draining Aspidochelone of his energy like a parasite!" Tal realized, "Once Creepweed drains our island dry, it'll have full control of Aspidochelone's body and use it to invade the mainland and spread throughout the whole planet!" She exclaimed as the tendrils kept growing.
"Are we gardeners or ninjas?!" Raph questioned. "How are we gonna stop that thing!?"
"We can use the Party Wagon, it's fully loaded and can move through the forest easily," Leo said as he drew his weapons. "Let's do this!" He called as they turned to Donnie, who was sipping through a guzzler hat.
"We'll stay here with Donnie," Tal said as she, April, Robyn, the Mutanimals, Splinter, Dariyasa, and Orimura stood beside Donnie, "Maybe we can speed up the antidote."
"You must hurry young ones! The Island itself is depending on you!" Orimura said urgently.
"Good luck," Leo said as he the Hamato Teens rushed off to the Party Wagon as the others looked at Donnie.
"You think the Healing Hands could work on Donnie?" April asked while Splinter gave a thoughtful look.
"Highly doubtful," Splinter said with a frown.
Tal kneeled in front of Donnie, "What is going on inside that head of yours, Don?" She wondered as Donnie kept drinking.
In the vastness of Donnie's mind, the Purple-Clad Turtle was in some sort of universal abyss as he looked around, "Astounding. It seems as though I'm inside some kind of Astral plane of existence. This is beyond all forms of human understanding, reason and, and…" Donnie stopped himself as he realized what he was saying.
"Wait, what am I saying? This is beyond everything I could learn from. I don't have to keep thinking everything can be solved by science." Donnie said while slapping his head. "Oh, Master Splinter and Orimura told me not to overthink these things. How do I keep forgetting that lesson?" He asked himself as he sighed. "I'm starting to see why I haven't unlocked my mystic powers like the others. They just showed up when all they wanted was to protect each other, while I all did was thinking not doing."
Donnie then took a breath and brought his hands together, "I can do this, just don't think about anything else, just act on what's important," He said to himself as he then focused himself and saw the times when he helped his brothers and his friends in battle while also helping April in the past while also remembering the time when Tal was there for him when April dumped him, with helping him invent new gears and vehicles, finding the Retro-Mutagen, being there for him when he's overworked or down and even the first kiss she gave him.
Donnie then formed a smile as in the abyss, he started glowing in purple as purple cubicle energy sparked up and circled him as the Hamato Clan symbol appeared behind him. "Don't think, just do." He whispered as he then opened his eyes with a determined expression.
Back in the real world, Donnie gave a gasp and snapped his eyes open before shaking his head, "Eureka!" He declared, startling the others as he shot to his feet.
"Donnie?!" Tal was surprised by Donnie's enthusiasm.
"I found it! I actually found it!" Donnie cheered.
"You're back to normal!" April called with a smile.
"I am absolutely positively 100% intellectually functioning at Maximum Capacity," Donnie declared with a wink.
"Yep, he's back," Robyn said with a smile.
"Told you the cure worked," Rockwell said with a smirk.
"Oh, I'm back, and I'm new and improved!" Donnie cheered before the ground shook. "Uh, what's going on?"
"Yeah, there's something you need to know, Donnie," Tal said with a sheepish look.
In the forest, the Party Wagon drove by while there was green mist and mutated plants around as the others looked around and saw some animals in the pod. "Whoa! Creepweed put the animals to sleep!" Raph exclaimed.
"Quick, breathing units!" Leo said as they all put on their breathing units before the mist could get into the Party Wagon.
"You got a plan, Leo?" Vee asked.
"We hold off Creepweed until our Brainiac get their act together and brings something to bring it down," Leo explained.
"And we need to hurry because our island won't last much longer," Jenny said.
"Then let us hurry." Naomi said as they saw Creepweed wrapping a vine around a sheep before the Party Wagon drove in as Mikey exited the side with a cart-built in.
"Booyakasha!" Mikey called as he used the blade at the end and dodged the vines. "Meet the Grass-Kicker!" He called as he cut through Creepweed, who shrieked in pain before the hole sealed itself up.
"It's still growing back!" Raph called out. "Torch that sucker!"
"Hey Creepweed, meet Sir Sizalot!" Vee shouted as she activated the deer head flamethrower and sprayed flames at Creepweed's head, causing it to reel back and then roar at them, "Uh, I think we only made it mad," She said nervously.
Raph was about to back up, but Creepweed grabbed the Party Wagon and lifted it up as they looked and saw Creepweed's head as Mikey drove by. "Guys?" Mikey asked before he drove away to avoid getting crushed by the Party Wagon as it fell to the ground.
The group groaned when they fell down. "Yeah, the thing doesn't like us." Miwa muttered as they stood up.
"You said it." Leo groaned, but then he noticed his air unit was gone as he saw it across the floor. "Oh, no!" He called as the fog seeped into the Party Wagon and he passed out as Vee caught him.
"Leo!" Vee said in concern as Leo started snoring.
"Oh, boy." Raph muttered as spikes tried to stab them, but the Hamato Teens avoided them as they exited the Party Wagon as they avoided the vines around them with their weapons raised.
"Well there goes our ride," Jenny said with a look.
"And I just waxed her, too." Ames complained before some vines wrapped around her as she screamed and was dragged towards Creepweed.
"Ames!" Mikey yelled as he lashed his chain and grabbed her, "You let her go Bark-breath!" He demanded. He chopped the vines off her as Ames was pulled off. "You okay, Ames?"
"I'm good, Mikey," Ames said while rubbing her head before some vines formed. "Maybe not so good." She muttered as Leo was seen dragging away.
"Leo!" Vee called as she tried to reach him, but he disappeared in the fog. "No!" She called.
"Where did he go?!" Naomi asked as they managed to dodge a hand, but Jenny got caught.
"Ah! Whoa!" Jenny called as she was pulled away.
"Jenny!" Raph exclaimed as some more vines started forming. he then slammed his sais together, and his red markings appeared. "Time to go big!" He called as he then covered himself in his mystic construct and started smashing the vines away from him and the others as the others did their best to avoid the vines while also slashing them.
Naomi was using her Shell Shields to slice each vine, Mikey was using his nunchucks to slash and burn the vines, Vee was predicting the vine's movements, while Ames and Miwa just used their weapons to try and slash as many as they could to avoid getting caught or poke from them.
Just then, Jenny appeared after tossing a vine away while she used her claws to slash the vines. "Okay, I really hate veggies! Trying to grab me, will ya?!" She exclaimed as he used her speed to slice as many as she could.
The others are still fighting the vines as they are using their powers to keep the vines back. "Guys, there's too many of them! Creepweed just keeps regrowing!" Ames exclaimed.
And the problems started getting worse as Creepweed started attacking their breathers, knocking them of or breaking them as one by one the team fell asleep until only Ames and Mikey were left.
"Guys!" Mikey called as he and Ames stood back as Creepweed was about to eat them, but Mikey threw a throwing star at it, causing it to turn to them. "Alright, Creepweed! Yeah, that's right, I named you Creepweed! You like that?!" He taunted as Creepweed roared at him.
"No, well too bad! Now come, get ready to get Weed Wrecked!" Ames declared as the Tree mutant lashed multiple tendrils at them which they dodged before Ames wrapped her whip around its neck and kept it still. "Mikey…"
"Sure thing, babe. Timber!" Mikey declared as he delivered a palm strike to the neck, which caused Creepweed to fall down. "Now that was great teamwork."
"Yeah. Now let's grab the others and get this thing by its roots." Ames said as she and Mikey were about to wake the other before they were grabbed by Creepweed as it held them to its maw, "Oh man! This is it! We're plant food!" Ames yelled in panic.
"Oh, man! Not how I wanna go out!" Mikey screamed, but before Creepweed could eat them, a purple blur ran over its head, causing it to be disoriented. "What?! Did you see that?!"
"Yeah! But where did that come from?!" Ames asked in shock.
Then, from the blur was Donnie, who had purple grid-like streaks on his body, two going down his right eye, while on his back was a purple light-energy mutagen sprayer, filled with retro-mutagen with Donnie having two jets on each side of his shell as he glared at Creepweed.
"Get away from the, you Extinct Parastic Digitaria Sanguinalis!" Donnie yelled while holding the purple sprayer blaster.
"Donnie?!" Both Ames and Mikey asked in shock and amazement.
"You know what this is, a Mystic Tech Constructed Retro Mutagen Weed Killer!" Donnie called with a smirk. "Come get some." Creepweed roared and lunged at him to attack, but Donnie activated the device and shot the entire blast of Retro Mutagen right into Creepwee's mouth, which caused a chain reaction that made the monster explode, defeating it for good.
The pods opened up as the animals were freed from them and from the vines as the mutated plants withered before Donnie scooped up the remains of Creepweed in a container as his markings and gear disappeared. "Donnie!" Ames called as she and Mikey ran up and hugged him.
"Your back!" Mikey cheered.
"Ahaha! The antidote worked!" Donnie cheered.
"And you got your Hamato Ninpō!" Ames cheered after seeing Donnie's powers in action. "But how did you make Retro-Mutagen into that thing?"
"I'll explain later," Donnie said with a smile. "Come on. Let's get the others and get back to the village." He said as they walked off to get their team.
A bit later, they were at the edge of the island where the ocean is as Donnie launched a triple lock box via a purple energy shoulder cannon into the ocean, "There! Now even if Creepweed escapes from that box, he'll be in for a salty surprise," Donnie said with a smirk.
"It's good to have you back, Donnie," Leo said with a smile.
"It's great to be back," Donnie said before he turned to Tal. "And thanks for your help, Tal. The fire thing was kinda embarrassing. Like, Mikames level embarrassing." He said sheepishly.
"Yeah," Mikey said before he realized what Donnie said. "Hey!"
"Okay if I hear one more joke about us being the dumb ones!" Ames warned firmly.
"It's good to have you back, Donnie," Tal said as she walked up and gave Donnie a kiss. "And you finally found your mystic powers."
"I can't believe Mikey actually found the last ingredient to the antidote," Raph commented.
"Looks like Mikey is smarter than he looks," Jenny commented while crossing her arms.
"Not to mention the nitrates in the pepperoni acted as the perfect reversing agent," Donnie said with a smile. "And while I was recovering in my own state, I finally realized I had to stop thinking logically and go with the flow, and then, bam! Mystic Tech Hamato Ninpō!" He declared.
"Mystic powers combined with modern tech?" Miwa asked with a smirk. "Now that's a new one."
"Oh, it is! Check it!" Donnie called as he got his markings again and jets appeared on his shell as he floated up. "Pretty awesome, right? Science and magic put together!"
"Okay, that is pretty cool," Raph said in awed, and Donnie landed as his markings vanished.
"This will definitely help us in future battles," Donnie said as he turned to Mikey. "I owe you one big time, Mikey. If you haven't made me lose my intelligence, I wouldn't have found my powers or we wouldn't be closer to finding a cure for Olly." He said as Mikey smiled. "You know, I got to admit, sometimes Tal and I can be hard on you and Ames, and act like you're not as smart as us." He said as he and Tal then walked off.
"No worries, bra," Mikey said with a smile.
"But now, I finally understand how you and Ames feel all the time," Donnie said with a smirk as he and Tal kept walking off.
"Yeah, sometimes limited thinking is the best solution, you taught me that, Ames," Tal told her little sister and kept walking.
"Thanks, guys." Ames smiled.
"That's real nice," Mikey smiled too while the others smirked at their naivety before the two funny turtles realized something, "Wait a second," Mikey started with a frown.
"Hold on…" Ames added with a frown.
"TAL!/DONNIE!" The two funny turtles yelled as they charged at the two smart turtles, who were still smirking, knowing what was coming was worth it.
And with that, all Ten Turtles have unlocked their Hamato Ninpō. It wasn't an accident that I saved Donnie for last since he believes more in the science and reason side of Reality, but now that he understands how to act without thinking, he can finally use his mystic powers of Magic Techno Building, like his Rise Counterpart.
Also, as Mikey and Naomi demonstrated, the Turtles' powers become stronger when used together. Will this be helpful in the future? We'll see.
